When one of the servants A-jie had brought with her when she married catches his eye and then disappears, Jiang Cheng’s stomach drops.

He leaves Shuchun to deal with the official mingling, which earns him a dirty look, but he refuses to feel bad about it. Wang Yan is hovering at the edges and either she or Jin Ling will save her from any truly obnoxious conversations.

He makes his way to his sister’s rooms, knocking twice before pushing inside. “What’s going on?”

The first person he sees is Jiang Xingyi, which is never good, but A-jie appears whole and healthy. She grabs his arm with both hands, pulling him close before whispering, “Would you be able to get genkwa before the end of the night hunt?”

“Yes,” he says, even though doing it without getting caught is going to be nearly impossible. What his sister needs, she gets. “How far along?”

She doesn’t look any different to him, but then again she never does. But if she needs it before the end of the night hunt, she must have caught it late this time.

This isn’t the first time he’s needed to do this.

A-jie’s body might not be able to handle another birth. He knows that she wants a big family, but none of them are willing to risk her life for another child.

Well, he and Jin Zixuan aren’t. Jin Guangshan and Madam Jin would do it gladly, which is why they can never, ever know of the times he’s had to smuggle the crushed purple little flowers into her hands.

“It’s not for me,” she says which leaves him blinking. “Maybe we won’t need it, but she won’t stop crying, and I don’t want to offer her something that I can’t carry through on. You’re sure?”

“Yes,” he says, “but who are we talking about?”

If it’s A-jie, everything has to be handled with the utmost secrecy, only Jiangs, Jin Zixuan, and Jin Guangyao privy to her condition. But a servant girl or even a noble’s daughter doesn’t garner enough attention to warrant their normal subterfuge.

A-jie gives him a look so full of grief that he’s already reaching for her before she turns and crosses over to the entrance to her private bath. She knocks then leans against the door, “Meimei, can you come out? There’s someone else here, he can help you. You can trust him, I promise.”

The endearment tells him nothing beyond it’s a woman younger than A-jie.

The seconds drag on and then the door slowly opens, a women clad only in one damp robe stepping out. He lifts his eyes to her face, red and splotchy from crying and her hair a mess all around her, and feels his mouth drop. “Lady Xuanyu?”

The wife to the second jade of Lan is not some servant girl or even just a noble’s daughter.

She sees him and fresh wave of tears roll down her face, but she’s smiling too, and A-jie is relaxing. “Hi Jiang Cheng.”

“Is it his?” he asks, mind spinning. “Lan Wangji’s?”

A-jie glares at his lack of tact, but he’s trying to make sense of this. If she’s sleeping around on Lan Wangji, Jiang Cheng is hardly going to blame her for it, but it’ll explain why she needs to end the pregnancy.

She hiccups, lifting a sleeve to wipe at her cheeks. “Y-yeah.”

On the bright side, it’s not like Lan Wangji can hate him more than he already does.

A second reason for her to be so miserable at the news that she’s carrying her husband’s child occurs to him and the rage that sweeps through him is surprising in its intensity. “Does he hurt you?”

He drank with her the night before her wedding and told her that Lan Wangji wasn’t that awful, that he wouldn’t hurt her. He told her that she’d be safe as his bride.

But now she’s sobbing and pregnant and so clearly terrified.

Xuanyu hesitates.

“I’m going to kill him,” he says. It comes out perfectly calm, none of his normal bluster. Both A-jie and Jiang Xingyi pale.

He turns to leave, already planning on drawing his sword first and explaining after. Lan Wangji has made a liar out of him. Xuanyu is young and didn’t ask for any of this and he has a responsibility to protect his bride and Jiang Cheng told her that he wouldn’t hurt her and now she’s here and she’s hurt and he’s going to rip Lan Wangji’s spine out and shove it down his throat.

People don’t like him, don’t get along with him, generally. But she’d sat with him beneath the light of the moon and drank with him and it had been something warm and familiar that he hasn’t had since before the war. He tells himself that’s why he cares his so much when the truth is he doesn’t know why, it’s just that she feels familiar in a way he can’t explain, not when he the first time they met was that night.

“Jiang Cheng!” She lunges forward, hugging him from behind, wrapping her arms around his waist. He braces for the feeling of discomfort, ready to push back agaisnt the urge to shove her off of him. It doesn’t come. “I didn’t mean like that! We spar, a lot, and I get hurt, but I’m always requesting it. It’s not like that.”

He turns in her arms, gently pushing her back but not letting go of her shoulders. “Then why are you crying? It’s okay, you can tell me the truth. I’m not afraid of Lan Wangji.”

“I just,” she sniffs. “I can’t – he doesn’t like me, you know? And – and I’m better than I was, um, healthier, but what if,” she blinks heavily, “what if I’m not strong enough, or something goes wrong, and then – what if I mess it up? And it’s all my fault, because I was weak, and then I’m a failure and he hates me–”

“Oh, Xuanyu,” A-jie whispers. He knows she had a lot of those same fears when she was pregnant with Jin Ling, and she and Jin Zixuan were in love, and he proposed to her fully knowing the state of her health.

Both Xuanyu and Lan Wangji were forced into this marriage.

“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do,” he says firmly. “If you don’t want to have this baby, then you don’t have to. Whatever the reason. And if anyone tries to force you to, I’ll stop them. I don’t care who they are. Understand?” He waits until she gives a wide eyed nod. “But I don’t – I don’t think that Lan Wangji will react like how you think he will. And if he disappoints you, then I will help you take care of it. But I don’t think he will.”

Twice now he has vouched for Lan Wangji to Xuanyu, this girl who feels like another sister even though he barely knows her.

If Lan Wangji makes a liar out of him, he will beat him bloody and not even Lan Xichen will be able to hold it against him.

YO CHALLENGE TO CELEBRATE THE TURTLES'S 40 YEARS! LETS HAVE A T-MAY-NT

Hi fellow shellheads! Since we have this special date coming upon us! This may 5th will be the 40th anniversary of the creation of our beloved turtles! So i wanted to make something special, an inktober but turtles themed! and I also don't think it needs to be only an art challenge,many of the prompts I shared could also be completed just sharing a picture or something! "hi"

your voice was barely a whisper and yet, seungmin heard you amongst the chaos in the room. he immediately noticed something is off, so he smacked changbin’s arm in order to make him quiet.

“hi” seungmin greeted you back, standing up “are you feeling okay?”

“honestly, no. not really. only because i wasn’t able to see you for the whole day” you grinned sheepishly and seungmin walked up to you, pressing a hand to your forehead. “what?

“you do look pale if i’m being honest” chan spoke up from the corner of the room.

“don’t you two have things to be doing?” seungmin looked at them, raising an eyebrow “like find han or something?”

“we should we find han?” changbin asked and seungmin with satisfaction watched chan’s face drop in realisation.

“we have a ward round in a second” chan sighed and stood up, getting ready to leave “we wanted to go eat some bbq later, do you wanna go with us y/n?”

“huh?” you frowned, disturbed by a strange feeling buzzing in your head. you blinked slowly and nodded, realising what chan said “sure!”

“just go, mr park won’t be happy if you’re late” seungmin sighed and pushed them out of the door. you felt your nose itch.

and as you touched your nostril to scratch it, seungmin turned around.

“you’re staring” you scoffed, looking at his expression.

“y/n, you’re bleeding!” he gasped. you pulled away your fingers and noticed the scarlet liquid dripping all over your shirt. what? “shit, wait… i’ll patch you up”

he came up to you and pulled you down gently by your shoulders so you sat down.

“keep your head down and pinch the front of your nose, okay?” he ordered softly. you closed your eyes and breathed through your mouth as you listened to the sound of his footsteps “did you even eat anything today?”

you didn’t answer.

“y/n i know you have a rough time at college but you have to remember about basic needs of a human body” he was scolding you but his tone was as soft as hummingbird’s song.

“i know. but… i was studying and all the stress… i just couldn’t eat” you sighed and opened your eyes just to look at him as you felt your boyfriend sitting next to you. seungmin put his hand on your arm and started wiping the blood from your chin.

“i understand, really. but we can’t have it happening. is it the first time?” seungmin asked. you nodded gently. “that’s good. i think it’s slowly stopping”

you looked at your shirt and then at the floor.

“i made a mess. sorry” you mumbled. seungmin leaned back to throw away the paper and went to wet a clean cloth.

“don’t be, it’s not your fault. i’ll give you one of my extra t-shirts to change into, okay?” he asked even though he knew the answer. you’d never turn down such an offer.

“can i look up?” you sighed. he didn’t answer you verbally but he grabbed your chin gently and wiped your nostrils.

because of that you at first didn’t realise he’s looking at you, focused. mostly at your lips.

“you’re staring again” you grinned and seungmin just rolled his eyes, walking away to grab a t-shirt for you.

“i was literally checking if you’re still bleeding” he murmured and threw the piece of clothing at you and turned around, looking for something in his bag.

“oh my, such a gentleman” you teased, quickly putting it on.

“i think i prefer the nosebleed version of you. quiet and calm” he bickered “can i turn around?”

“yes” you hummed and as he did, you realised he’s holding a bento box you prepared for him in the morning.

“let me take care of you, okay?” seungmin cooed and walked up to you, sitting back where he was. he placed the box on your knees and patted it “now eat up”

“but–“ you started.

“literally no buts. eat” he rolled his eyes.

“i’m tired though. also we’re going out with the boys later” you mumbled.

“just a bit. don’t make me force-feed you” seungmin crossed his arms, looking you in the eye. you sighed and opened the box, looking at the meal. he ate half of it, which made your heart melt.

“was it good?” you asked, looking for chopsticks but seungmin was faster and handed you them.

“and am i kim seungmin? it was delicious, as always” he sent you a warm smile and you felt blood rushing to your cheeks “hey, you’re getting some colors back! that’s good”

“shut up” you scoffed and smacked his arm.

after eating you put the box away and leaned on his shoulder gently, hiding your face in the crook of his face.

“thank you, seungmo. for everything” you mumbled. he placed a tender kiss on your hair “my nurse seungmin”

“stop talking, it’ll cause less nosebleeds in the future” he teased and you just scoffed.

“now, that’s just bullshit…”

So a few notes on this ranking. First of all, Go Baby Go Stupid is only at the bottom because I feel like I made it too long and repetitive, and I was going to say it’s the only miss of the album, but a lot of people still really love it and even said its their fave, so I guess this was the most consistently rad album. Another thing of note is that if you’d told me on launch day that Amp’d Up would eventually grow to be in the Top Ten I would’ve called you a liar.

Anyway hope you enjoyed. Might do this for more of my albums.

MAKING A CASE FOR GREGORY TO BE EVERYONE'S FAVOURITE BRIDGERTON.

(Jk, this is just an excuse, like who you want)

Is he my favourite?

Yes.

Why?

Well......

1. He wants love.

From the start of the book, we are made aware that he has nothing going on and genuinely wants to find love like his siblings.

2. Friends over food.

The way he meets Lucy is him falling in love with Hermonie Watson(👀) and asking Lucy to dance. She pities him enough to carry him to eat because he showed up late and had to go mingle. Basically, they become acquaintances and friends once they decide to set up Gregory with Hermonie.

3. Bro is in love with Kate.

One of the funnier themes in the book is that he goes from saying something he loves about Kate and then compares it to something Lucy does.

4. Alcohol.

He keeps stealing and drinking Anthony's alcohol.

5. Fist fights.

He fights Lucy's brother, Richard, after compromising Hermonie (deserved, earned).

6. The first time they kiss.

I kid you not, I was in shock, tears almost and the energy after this moment never changes. Like genuinely at any point they would've been wed to each other had one person saw them but what makes if crazier is that the only reason it stopped was because Lucy was engaged and she remembered before it escalated

7. Making it everyone's problem.

After he realises he loves her, he makes it everyone's problem. From comparing her to Francesca to embarrassing Violet publicly , even roping Hyacinth in on hijinks, his story is a family event.

8. The Second time they kiss.

Hyacinth is in the other room, they are in Daphne's home and he has orchestrated a plan to propose to her in a closet.

9. They sleep with each other.

To the TSPWL and WHWW girls, step aside for a moment. Gregory breaks into his unofficial fiancé's home in the dead of night, goes to her room, and is eventually seduced by her. They proceed to sleep together, THE DAY BEFORE HER WEDDING TO ANOTHER MAN. They do so three times holding each other, then sleeping together and so on. She's doing it under false pretences because she isn't going to marry him atp.

10. A love like Violet and Edmund's.

They break the Bridgerton record for most kids. At the time of the epilogue, they have 7 kids and are expecting the 8th, they have twins and end up with 9. It's to the point where the pregnancy impacts Lucy and Gregory let's us know that the amount of kids they have is genuinely due to their lack of restraint.

11. They name their kids after their siblings.

Lucy actually gets to name one after her best friend, but there is a little Daphne and Anthony running around. Also a Kate.

12. Guns.

There is a gun stand off.

13. Kidnapping.

Gregory breaks the law, again.

14. Gay.

Lucy is pinning over Hermione during the first half, her fiance is gay, the uncle never marries......

15. 9 CHILDREN.

I don't want to understate the fact that they have 9 kids in less than 20 years. It was never that serious. She is 33 when they have their last kid. He's 39. They met at 18 and 24 respectively. 9 kids in 15 years.

16. LUCY MY LOVE

Me 🫂 Gregory.

She's darling. Throughout the narrative, it's just her making sacrifices for everyone she loves. For her brother, her best friend, even Gregory, it's consistantly her trying.

1. Who or what got you into F1?

my family! i come from one of those european motorsport legacy families where we've followed the sport from day one. both my parents are enthusiasts and i grew up watching f1.

2. Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?

the first f1 driver i supported would either be sebastian vettel or lewis hamilton. seb is retired now, but i'm still a lewis girlie through and through. i think my opinions have changed a lot, especially when they switch teams, but in my heart i'm still that kid screaming my heart out as my favorite driver drives past.

3. Who’s your current favourite F1 driver?

max verstappen 🦁 if you'd asked me before feb 1st i'd have included lewis but i'm still reeling from the news

4. Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?

hear me out: oscar and fernando. it may be unconventional, but i feel like it'd be epic. it'll probably never happen but the vibes would be incredible omg.

but secretly i'll always want to see seb and lewis in the same team 😭

5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite driver?

oh. ohhhh boy.

my mum's favorites are lewis and mick, my dad's are max and pierre, my brother is lecfosi through and through, and my sister is a lando fan. my extended family supports various assorted drivers that i honestly don't bother to keep track of 🤭

6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?

barcelona 2016 and interlagos 2021 are the ones that come to mind. yes, there are others that have been "better" for my faves, but max's first win (ft. brocedes public divorce proceedings) and lewis' insane comeback hold such special places in my heart.

7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.

i'm legally obliged to say circuit paul ricard and silverstone, but zandvoort, spa, and suzuka also hold special places in my heart.

8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like.

i've been lucky enough to go to quite a few 😜 there's a picture of three-week-old me at the 2005 barcelona grand prix that i keep on my desk lmao

i think my most notable experience is that the cars are a lot louder and faster than they seem online. my favorite gp experience would probably be silverstone but spa and interlagos are really cool too!!

btw monaco is a tourist trap. it's kind of boring and honestly it's more of a social event than a race, so if you want to experience the more technical side of f1, it's better to go to another gp

9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?

my lawyer (my cat) has advised me not to comment on this

(yes but mostly in passing)

10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?

w11 😌 you will never be forgotten, although rocky (rb19) comes close to stealing my heart

11. Do you have a favourite one win wonder?

meeeeeeh. if i really had to choose it would either be heikki or pastor maldonado but nope, no favorites.

12. Do you have any favourite quotes from the F1 world? This can either be inspirational or hilarious.

Would you write more sports romance? In the future. What’s your favorite trope to write?

hiii my love <33 yea i can see myself writing sports romance again in the future! i think it’s challenging sometimes cuz there’s a lot to keep track of n also idk much about a lot of sports in general lol, at times i feel bad there’s not…that many game scenes in kickoff. tbh i just cant be bothered sometimes LOL but there’s a charm to it too ofc for a lot of reasons

idk if i’d write another one right away after kickoff tho, probably take a break from it n switch gears to try something new

as for favorite tropes to write hmm 🤔 lol i saw a tiktok filter that ranked book tropes, imma look at it for inspo then rank them:

1. she falls first he falls harder (ALL TIME FAVE)

2. enemies to lovers (they gotta wanna kill eachother)

3. fake dating (OOF controversial but i loveee these sm)

4. anything slow burn (especially in terms of sex lol)

5. workplace romance (these tend to be so hot tbh)

6. forbidden love (i like in historic/medieval stories)

7. one bed trope (esp if its enemies to lovers)

8. rich vs poor (kdrama conditioned me to enjoy this)

9. small town (christmas movies cond. me to enjoy this)

10. grumpy x sunshine (but guy can’t be a total ahole)

11. friends to lovers (always feel happy w these)

12. second chance love (breaks my 💔 but worth it)

13. age gap (depends a LOT on the execution)

14. love triangle (sux if i have 2nd M lead syndrome)
