#My headcanon: She is a lesbian and it's in love with Elsa

What do you hope to get in Frozen 3?
It's probably not surprising at all, but I'm a big fan of Frozen :D the first movie holds a special place in my heart (the opening actually makes me emotional) and while I have a few issues with the second, I'm weak for the Frozen Aesthetic™, the characters and vibe.
I have no idea what the story for the threequel is gonna be, but I do have a wishlist!
A proper character arc for Anna. Elsa went through a great journey of self discovery+acceptance, but Anna's arc never felt... concrete?
Same for Kristoff!!!! Please please please gove him SOMETHING that doesn't revolve around Anna
And a solo song!! That isn't silly!!! (Lost in the Woods I love you but I want more)
Speaking of songs, besides Into the Unknown (my fave), Show Yourself and Lost in the Woods, the others felt a bit of a letdown. Idk maybe it's just personal taste
More outfits!!! One of my favorite parts of the movies are the pretty clothes
I know the lesbian headcanon for Elsa is popular but in my heart she's aro, so yeah. Hashtag don't give Elsa a partner at all (again, you can ship her with whoever you like obv. This is just my opinion™)
New secondary characters that don't get thrown away after their introduction. Basically what happened with everyone from Frozen 2
Let Anna use a real sword (optimistic. I believe disney has a rule for not letting their heroes use weapons against people)

Disney princesses and their sexualities, my headcanons.
ft. snow white, cinderella, aurora, ariel, belle, jasmine, pocahontas, mulan, tiana, rapunzel, merida, elsa, anna, kida, esmeralda
Tumblr media
! please keep in mind that these are my headcanons and my opinion, you don't have to agree with it but don't be rude, thank you!
a/n: my headcanons does not follow the plot (if they have a partner/love interest or not, yk)
༺☆༻
Look, all of these princesses have at least some interest in women. I'm gonna try to write a reason 'why' do I think that
Snow White; Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
Bisexual. I mean she found her Prince Florian and they say that they lived happily ever after but I mean look at Florian...He's 34 and not very... handsome (sorry not sorry) so I think that she'll eventually want to explore more and more. She's also a very kind and loving soul who will probably fall in love with one or the other gender.
Cinderella; Cinderella
Bisexual but prefers men. So Ella grew up mostly with her two step-sisters and step-mother and they were abusing her. So I guess she has some kind of a need to rebel against their rules? and I guess they can be pretty homophobic so that's why Ella has the need to try out something with a woman, otherwise she looking mostly for men.
Aurora; Sleeping Beauty
Lesbian. Okay hear me out. I think that Aurora is a lesbian because she grew up with three women in middle of nowhere so I don't really think she could think of a man... She was raised by women and she lived with them most of her life so she seeks women. She cannot imagine a household without a woman and she definitely cannot imagine herself without a woman.
Ariel; The Little Mermaid
Pansexual. Ariel is interested in humans and your gender doesn't matter to her. She wants to explore and she's very curious so I think she will spend her time studying women and men separately. For sure she wouldn't care who her partner will be if female, male, non-binary... she doesn't care, she just wants to be loved.
Belle; Beauty And The Beast
Bisexual prefers women. Gaston is always flirting with her or showing off his muscles in front of her and he's just annoying her, so I think that's why Belle prefers women, because she's so tired of Gaston's (men) attention. She wants to be free and share her opinions on different books with someone intelligent and not dumb as Gaston. So that's why she's looking for women most of the time.
Jasmine; Aladdin
Bisexual. I really don't want to put 'bisexual' to everyone but.... Well Jasmine is pretty sassy and free-spirited. She need a bit of adventure in her life so she will see for someone who can protect her (man) and someone who can comfort her, understand her problems and someone to talk to all day long (woman). So I guess it only depends on who will stole her heart first.
Pocahontas; Pocahontas
Lesbian. She never seemed interested in Kocoum BUT she was very interested in her female friend, Nakoma. She's pretty curious, brave and free-spirited... she has a loving and caring soul which needs the same 'kind of soul' back. She need someone kind and gentle who is matching her energy... and she just really love boobs.
Mulan; Mulan
Lesbian. Mulan is more masculine then feminine. In the first movie she was really uncomfortable with all that make-up and the dress and was more comfortable in armor or shorts. So she seeks for someone who is almost the exact opposite of her; someone feminine.
Tiana; The Princess and the Frog
Bisexual. Tiana is confident and a hard-worker so she needs someone active. She has really close relationship with Charlotte and at the start of the movie, Tiana is disgusted by the thought of marriage and dating a man. But that was when she was a little kid, after she grew up she started to find men attractive but she still was interested in women, that's why she's bisexual.
Rapunzel; Tangled
Pansexual. Rapunzel spend 18 years locked up in a tower so after she get out she was REALLY curious about everything and everyone. She lived only with her 'mother' so she's interested in women but Eugene saved her so she began to be interested in men. After all she just wants to be loved and she wants to love, doesn't matter who, it will be the one who she will fall in love with.
Merida; Brave
Lesbian. I don't think I have to explain this one, Merida doesn't like men in the movies, she acc annoyed and disgusted by them. So it's no secret that she loves women.
Elsa; Frozen
Lesbian. Again I don't think I have to really explain this one either. It was confirmed that Elsa will have a female interest in Frozen 4. She is also independent and strong woman and I feel like she's getting more masculine which she shows in Frozen 2.
Anna; Frozen
Pansexual but prefers men. Does that make sense? I mean Anna is really kind and loving person. She will help anybody in need and comfort them in bad moments. But she always dreamed that she will marry her 'prince charming' and live happily ever after so that's why she seeks men, but if she wouldn't mind if she fell in love with a woman.
Kida; Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Lesbian. I don't know why but I just feel that she is a lesbian. She's independent and strong, she doesn't need a man. She also dominant and I kinda feel that she's also a bit masculine... that's why she want a woman. She also want woman because she admired her mother as a child so it brings her some kind of comfort.
Esmeralda; The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Bisexual. I mean she's pretty sassy and again independent, a bit masculine which she shows when she's with a woman, but there are many racist people around so she needs to be careful, that's why she also like men, because they can protect her and make her feel safe.
i hope you like it guys and i hope you don't mind that i posted this, because it's something a bit different than what i usually write? it's something short before christmas so i have 'cartoon movie' mood, if that make sense... so if you want something with disney/pixar let me know! also don't worry guys, i'm working on your requests.

so. more nimona director headcanons!! because don’t you just love yakking about characters you kinda hate and who everybody hates!!!!!
-book director was created by the institute and literally cannot grow body hair. she was made that way on purpose so she’s always extra cold so she’s tougher. the institution’s leader shouldn’t have emotions that sway her choices, but this wasn’t foolproof; she ended up feeling hate for what she grew to think was a monster and contempt for almost everyone else around her. because she isn’t a “weak human”.
-film director is a regular ahh human… sike she has undiagnosed paranoia and is incredibly hyperfixated on the legend of gloreth. she’s completely and totally obsessed with following in gloreth’s footsteps and being like her (also she’s a lesbian but has internalized homophobia and is gay for gloreth i mean uh my hand slipped-)
-film director’s full name and title is *breath in* 𝓘𝓷𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓽𝓾𝓽𝓮 𝓓𝓲𝓻𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓸𝓻 𝓛𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓰𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓪 𝓢𝓽𝓮𝓪𝓭𝓯𝓪𝓼𝓽 and her family has been in the position for a great many years, but gasp shudder were originally commoners chosen for the position by gloreth’s first child
-book director doesn’t have a name other than “director” and part of why she resents nimona is because she knows both of them must be “abominations” yet nimona has great powers, a name, and people who care about her. book director was literally created to boss people around. she doesn’t just think nimona is a monster, she’s jealous because she knows nimona is better and more powerful. she should be tbh-
-film director (aka lilith bc cmon that name slaps and she looks like a lilith) actually felt guilt when she killed the queen and when she “killed” ambrosius but told herself it was what gloreth would have wanted. she literally drove herself insane in an attempt to emulate gloreth.
-film director/lilith is on the last shred of her sanity at the end of the film, she’s convinced herself this is the will of gloreth and become a tyrant and the actual monster because of it. she doesn’t even care about the kingdom. she’s about to freaking snap fully, but then the building explodes and she dies before she can go ooga booga-
-she looks like elsa from frozen (look below like actually-)

Been seeing quite a few posts going around about 10 years of Frozen, so I figure I might as well add my bit.
When Frozen came out back in November 2013, I was completely unaware it existed. I was doing a study abroad semester in London and had been so out of the loop with new Disney movies for about three years that I completely missed Frozen was even a thing. I can't remember seeing any trailers before seeing the movie. I had actually missed Tangled and Brave before that, so I was a little behind in my Disney movie score.
Anyway, when I came back home and finally saw Frozen for the first time in January 2014, you might as well call it "love at first sight" because I fell so hard for the movie. I was just obsessed from the start. I saw it two more times over the following week. I was introduced to fandom because my need for more Frozen content - starting with just pics and gifs from the movie itself - was insatiable. I began to think about Frozen nonstop, and while I was hesitant to show my love for it at first (because I was self conscious being a cis man acting like a total fangirl over a "Disney princess movie") I eventually did open up enough for my college friends to know me as that guy who loved Frozen.
Elsa especially resonated with me early on. It took some time for me to figure out why, and the reasons shifted over the years, but the fact was: I had never related nor adored any character as much as Elsa. I can safely say I never had a crush on her like some people do with their favorite cartoon characters; Elsa has always struck me as not the type to be with men romantically, a headcanon that has thankfully remained constant to this day. When I did begin to form headcanons on such things, my initial view of Elsa was asexual and aromantic, which was how I discovered both terms and what the orientations meant - and that led to some personal discovery of my own. I admit, my bias in this matter was in part disgust at the tendency for a lot of fans back in the day to pair Elsa with just about anyone, something that rubbed me the wrong way, so I clung to the notion that she didn't need anyone but the familial love of her sister.
Of course, these days I am fully supportive of lesbian Elsa and hope for solid queer content for her in the future. I recognize the odds are slim to none given she is a huge moneymaker for Disney and, well, Disney is no paragon of queer representation compared to others, but I'd rather have a little hope than none at all. Also, I still adore aro-ace Elsa headcanons and support those who enjoy them.
Frozen has always been special to me because of the bond between Elsa and Anna, that sisterly bond that felt refreshing and unique compared to other Disney movies before. The story was compelling and still is, and all the installments that since followed - Frozen Fever, Olaf's Frozen Adventure, Frozen 2, and many short stories and spinoff novels and a hit Broadway musical - have added so much depth and love to their dynamic. Elsa continues to be relatable; I was quite eager for her story in the sequel because it happened to come at a time when I was going through some changes in life and felt like I could understand Elsa's conflict of "liking where she was but knowing in her gut that she could do more." It's a feeling I think some if not many can relate to, and while the sequel sadly caused division among many fans, I for one loved it wholeheartedly, even more than the original.
I have adored all these years of fanwork, from the simple screenshots and gifsets to the fanart and fanfic and everything else. It's amazing to see how much Frozen resonated with people and still does, how a story focused around a different version of "true love" could become a huge success and make so many people so happy. I won't dwell on the drama or the infighting that once plagued the fandom; I'm just thankful I missed the worst of it from everything I've heard. I always kept to the more quiet corners, the ones focused more on the sisters and their canon bond; the people who just wanted to enjoy the story as it was; the people who wanted to write fic to explore the moments that could have been, that added to the characterization and broadened my understanding of Elsa and Anna; the artists who just adored this movie and everything that came after. I'm happy for the friends I made and still have, the ones who were just as passionate about these girls and their stories.
And while my interests have largely moved on and I am not nearly as involved in Frozen fandom life these days, I still keep space in my heart for Elsa and for Anna. I am excited to know their story is not over, that we will be getting two new movies with one big story that will no doubt be quite the epic adventure. Whatever is in store, I'm sure they will handle things the way they have always tried: together.
Thank you, Jennifer Lee. Thank you, Chris Buck. Thank you, Idina Menzel. Thank you all for Elsa and for Frozen.

Obviously it's a fake article, but I found some points interesting that are worth mentioning.
The woman's name is Isabella. They could have chosen a new name at least. I'm tired of finding repeated names in the Frozenverse, now even fake articles have repeated names.
In addition to pleasing fans who want Elsa to finally be confirmed as a lesbian, the article also tries to please those who are against the ending of "Frozen 2" and created #BringElsaHome because in addition to marrying Isabella, Elsa will return to live in Arendelle and will be queen in Anna's place.
Isabella is a black woman. In my social circle, a certain headcanon was created that Elsa is more physically attracted to women of color. I found it an interesting detail.
Elsa and Isabella's wedding will show Arendelle that same-sex love can exist. For me, this was the biggest technical error in the fake article. From what we know today, if Elsa as queen married another woman there would be no problem. Ada and Tuva do not suffer from any type of prejudice, and Helga and Olga are an elderly couple, and although they are not from Arendelle there did not seem to be any problems. Homophobia in the world of Frozen doesn't even have any clue that it exists yet, the most it would have is about biological descendants, but naming heirs is something that exists.
Although it is not at all difficult to realize that this article is false, it gained some fame and I decided to talk about it.
About the issue itself: Elsa getting married as an original woman and returning to be queen of Arendelle in Anna's place.
Since the end of "Frozen 2" both sisters have been marketed with the title of queen, so this situation will not change. Of the entire article, I really think this part is the hardest to happen.
An original woman in place of Honeymaren... I still think that Honeymaren was made with every detail thought out to be Elsa's ideal romantic partner, but as I said before, maybe Disney wanted to create a new woman because Honeymaren might not be marketable. Honeymaren is linked to a tribe that exists, and this connection is the possible reason why she has so little participation in the franchise.
Elsa getting married... I still find it curious that the two LGBT couples in the franchise are two lesbian couples, and they are married. I have a theory that yes, Elsa and Honeymaren will be married in "Frozen 3", but obviously it won't be explicit but rather revealed through easter eggs (the Sámi tribe has a wedding tradition involving necklaces, for example).

What characters do you headcanon as lesbians? Not just for Encanto, but all your fandoms!
I'm glad you asked me, friend!
Hmm...let's see...there's Isabela and Luisa in this fandom, we all know that already.
But besides them, my favorite lesbian headcanon would have to be Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Each of her interactions with boys just screams comphet, especially the nameless bums on the beach! And she has much better chemistry with Azula and Mai, and--look, regardless of what you think of either the Tyzula or Mailee ship(I am okay with both), you gotta admit that Ty Lee having feelings for either of the two ladies is infinitely more believable than her having feelings for a boy. Especially since she reminds me very strongly of myself: we are both bubbly, girly, pink-loving, and friendly with people we are close to, and often dismissed and not taken seriously, yet tougher and cleverer than we look. Her interactions with both genders reminds me of my own struggle with comphet and grapple to come to terms with my lesbian identity, it all reads as incredibly lesbian to me, to the point where I feel uncomfortable(if not personally attacked) when I see her in m/f ships. And with how widespread femme erasure is, Ty Lee being a proud femme lesbian would be awesome rep to have! but the show's over so 😥 but oh well, I can still have it as a hc, it gives me comfort all the same!
From the same fandom is Azula. For much of the same reasons as Ty Lee, except her comphet would be even stronger. but once she gets over it and undergoes a redemption arc I can see her and Ty Lee being an incredibly loving power couple together lol.
Anyway, I also hc Misa Amane as a lesbian, a hc which is only strengthened by this post.
I also hc Sonia Nevermind and Chiaki Nanami from Danganronpa as lesbians bc I ship them and they're way too pretty and femme to get with boys hahahahhahahha~!
Also, Queen Elsa, obvi!
Also from Disney, Charlotte la Bouff definitely had a thing for Tiana and only thought she wanted the prince because it's a "required" part of the fairytale dream and I will not be convinced otherwise. In the sequel it will turn out that Naveen has a pretty sister or female cousin whom Charlotte will marry so that she and Tiana can be sisters/cousins-in-law and both have their princess dreams!!!
And for live-action movies there's Regina George from Mean Girls(this one doesn't even need explaining, it's literally the same as miss pyromaniac princess above but without the abusive dad lol), Jennifer Check from Jennifer's Body.
All the Vocaloid girls minus a select few are lesbians because I say so.
Also from the mha fandom: Mina/Jirou/Tsuyu are a poly lesbian couple, perhaps a qpr since Mina is canonically cupioromantic and I'd hate to take that away from her.
And finally, Annabeth Chase.
I think that's it for now, I def have more that I can't remember bc it's too much to add here lol. Maybe I'll put them in another post for my lesbian/sapphic ships in general.
Anyway thanks for asking because I love to ramble about my lesbian ships/hcs/stories and ideas! Take care!

Hi!! I'm Alex. I noticed you gave 1 of my posts 'bout aroace Elsa a Like. Thanks!! But, coz I'm curious, I gotta Ask: Why? I'm grateful, but I noticed you seem to ship Elsa-x-Honeymaren. Which is valid!! Their brief interaction in canon was cute plus I headcanon Honeymaren as a lesbian and, if I wasn't so firmly fond of my aroace Elsa headcanon, would headcanon Elsa as a lesbian too. But why Like a post that's kinda against lesbian Elsa? Sorry if this Ask is rude!!
Hey Alex! Great question! And sorry for the delayed response.
Short version: I'm a lesbian and I feel like falling in love with a woman would fit Elsa. BUT I think the Ace or Ace-spec cannon is 1000% preferable to hetero-izing her, and may be more realistic for what Disney could get away with politically.
Here are some original goals for the comic...
Imagine Elsa falling in love, even though she doesn't know it.
Build a relationship about love, not s-x.
Realistically, is this something on-cannon enough it could get shipped by Disney?
More thoughts:
Is it about me or Elsa? Part of my motivation for the comic is to process my own emotional journey. I am a lesbian who came out later in my 20s due to a conservative "conceal don't feel" upbringing. Connecting with Elsa's story has been really healing. So imagining Elsa falling for someone even though she may not have words or emotional awareness to describe her feelings...well its helping me process my adolescence in a new light.
About Love not Sex. The other motivation for the comic to describe how love isn't always about sex. I get tired of media and general public thinking that lesbians or "homosexuality" is all about uncontrollable lust. Ironically, its often the opposite, particularly about the emotional intimacy between women. For me, I knew I was truly gay, when realize I only fall in love with a woman. Frozen has already done SO AMAZING at showing that the love between women can be stronger than romantic boy/girl love.
A Soulmate for Elsa? I feel like Into the Unknown wasn't truly fulfilled by the end of F2. I do think Elsa deserves someone who gets her in additional ways that Anna perhaps can't. It would be amazing for Disney to challenge themselves to display the growing closeness and emotional intimacy and connection between Elsa and another woman, while never explicitly say it develops into romance.
Ace-spectrum romantic? So how should the comic go? Ace-spectrum Elsa, and have her fall in love with full-lez Honeymaren? After joining Tumblr and starting to collaborate with other Frozen Fans, I'm learning more about Aro-ace community, that I confess I've been ignorant of, and I want to learn more. I think there are a lot of overlaps betwen aro-ace and lesbian experiences, and I think there is space to leave Elsa in the grey area in-between.
What do you think? Could there be a way to write an Elsa x Honeymaren love story to leave room for interpretation on where they fall on the romantic and sexual spectrum? I'm open to evolving the story from the original idea.

☕️ aroace elsa💜
Yes. 100% yes. Headcanon forever.
Elsa shows zero interest in romance in either of the two Frozen films. Sure, she's got other stuff on her mind, and in the first movie she was avoiding people in general out of fear she would hurt someone, but even in Frozen 2 when she's much more sociable and confident with her powers, she's not shown thinking about it even once.
While Let It Go is a generically queer-coded song that people of any LGBTQ orientation can relate to, Show Yourself has some more specifically aromantic vibes. I'm predominantly talking about the part where after following the voice to find this mysterious person who will understand her and give her the meaning and fulfilment she seeks, Elsa hears her mother's spirit tell her: 'you are the one you've been waiting for'. Elsa completes herself. Now to be clear, I think the writers' intent was simply a message of empowerment and self-love, but in this house the author is, as the kids say, 'unalived', and this song is now legally an aro anthem.
When she gets the freedom to choose the life she wants, Elsa decides to live in the forest with the spirits, making time for her family and friends (especially her sister), but mostly doing her own thing. Big aro energy.
I know a lot of people headcanon Elsa as a lesbian, and I totally get that. Lesbian coding and aroace coding of female characters is functionally identical: it's a woman not showing interest in men. I personally just don't envision her as interested in anyone in a romantic or sexual way.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. For more unhinged aroace Elsa rambling, see my Frozen sideblog ace-queen-of-arendelle.

For the character ask: Elphaba and Glinda (Wicked)
Well, I'm not deeply familiar with this show, just casually familiar, but here goes. Musical only, because I haven't read the book.
Elphaba
Favorite thing about them: I admire her for standing up against injustice and fighting to free others from oppression, even if it means being labeled a "wicked witch" by all of Oz and risking her life. Beyond that, I like how relatable she is, both in her anger and in her vulnerability and yearning for love, to anyone who feels different or cast out. For a wide array of reasons – race, neurodivergence, sexuality, gender identity, political stance – countless people identify with her and feel validated because she exists. This makes her a valuable character for much the same reason as her spiritual sister (and sound-alike) Elsa from Frozen. It's probably the main reason why the trend of "famous villain reimagined as an outcast hero or heroine" has become so popular throughout the last two decades – a trend that as far as I know, Elphaba single-handedly started.
Least favorite thing about them: I hate the catfight scene with Glinda after Nessarose's death, although I blame Glinda more for it – at least Elphaba's anger is righteous and not jealousy-based. Morally, though, the worst thing she does is imprison Dorothy.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I often feel like an outsider.
*I'm outraged by social injustice and do what I can to help the marginalized.
*I have a temper that I try to control, though fortunately mine doesn't cause magical mishaps.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm not brave enough to become the most hated and feared outlaw in my country in the name of fighting for justice.
*I don't pretend not to care what others think of me.
*I don't have green skin.
Favorite line: The lyrics to "The Wizard and I," "Defying Gravity," and "No Good Deed."
brOTP: In-universe, Glinda. In crossover-land, I'd also love to see her meet Elsa from Frozen and Angelina Jolie's Maleficent (both of whom arguably owe their existence to her), and maybe Enjolras from Les Misérables, since he's a fellow revolutionary – there's a funny fan comic that shows them getting drunk together at a slumber party for musical characters.
OTP: Fiyero. (Yes, I know that for some fans it's sacrilege not to ship her with Glinda, but I just like her better with Fiyero romantically, and besides, if we don't believe she really loves him, then the emotional power of "No Good Deed" and the sweet part of the bittersweet ending both fall flat.)
nOTP: The Wizard, even if he weren't her father.
Random headcanon: Someday she'll learn that the Wizard was her real father, and she'll be shaken by the revelation, but ultimately it will matter less to her than it does to him. He was just a sperm donor.
Unpopular opinion: Two of them.
(1) I think some fans – and maybe the libretto itself – view her too much as a "morally ambiguous" character. "She's neither a good guy nor a bad guy," they say, "there are two sides to every story." But IMHO, the real morally ambiguous figure in this show is Glinda. Elphaba is never perfect, it's true, but she's a straightforward sympathetic heroine until the 11th hour, when she only temporarily turns "bad" because she's emotionally broken. For the most part, she is a good guy.
(2) She's not a lesbian, she's bisexual. While she might have some unspoken feelings beyond friendship for Glinda, she truly is in love with Fiyero (see OTP above).
Song I associate with them: All her solos, but especially the iconic "Defying Gravity":

Glinda
Favorite thing about them: Her sheer three-dimensionality and growth as a character. Of course she's not the purely good, fairy-like Glinda from The Wizard of Oz, but neither is she the shallow, bubble-headed "mean girl" she seems to be at first. She's probably the most complex character in the musical. I think she's very comparable to the King in The King and I, her relationship with Elphaba corresponding to his with Anna. Like him, she's funny and she sometimes seems like a silly, spoiled jerk, but she has real warmth, cleverness, and sympathetic qualities too, and is torn between a flawed status quo and risky changes, as well as between her conscience and her ego, while navigating a position of power. This is rare for a female character, especially an unabashedly girly one.
Least favorite thing about them: That she turns against Elphaba and tries to get her captured by the Wizard, taking advantage of her sister's death to do it no less, just because she's angry that Fiyero left her for Elphaba. Yes, she regrets it and they have their heartwarming reconciliation in the end, but it's still very bad.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I like pastel colors like pink and pale blue.
*I'm not always brave enough to stand up for what I know is right.
*I can be very lively and exuberant about things I enjoy.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I've always been an "odd one out," not part of the popular crowd.
*I don't tend to be cutesy or flirty.
*I can't imagine myself becoming a political leader.
Favorite line: Most of her solo lines from "Thank Goodness," showing her inner conflict under her happy facade.
brOTP: Elphaba.
OTP: None. I know this is unpopular among fans who ship her with Elphaba, but I ship her first and foremost with personal growth.
nOTP: Fiyero or the Wizard.
Random headcanon: Someday she'll meet Elphaba and Fiyero again. I don't know the details, but it will be an exciting sequel, and even if they part again in the end, she at least won't need to live the rest of her life thinking they died because of her.
Unpopular opinion: I can't agree when I see people write about what a wonderful friend to Elphaba she is, how she's the best person in Elphaba's life, or how she's actually wiser than Elphaba because she knows that to achieve anything socio-politically you need to be liked. While of course she's more sympathetic than she seems at first, she's still deeply flawed both as a person and as a friend – that's part of the point – and while it's true that she, not Elphaba, is the one who frees Oz from the Wizard's rule in the end, she never would have done it without being "changed for good" by Elphaba.
Song I associate with them: All her songs, but especially "Popular":

Do you have any headcanons as to how Velma would get on with the Grimwood school girls?
Fun question! I haven't thought a ton about it, but my immediate thoughts are:
ELSA - Velma would get along the best with Elsa, because Velma loves science experiments and Elsa IS a science experiment. I think Velma would go out of her way to help Elsa feel smart and "human" (as it were).
SIBELLA - I think Sibella would fluster Velma (and vice-versa), because both Velma and Sibella are very flustering (to lesbians).
TANIS - I think Velma would be a little wary of Tanis. Not because she's a mummy, but because she's a small child, and Velma doesn't really know what to do with small children.
PHANTIE - I think Phantie would challenge Velma, because she's a ghost, and Velma has staked so much of her personality on ghosts not being real. I think she would have an easier time finding "rational explanations" for all of the other Grimwood Girls than for Phantie, so she would be vexed.
WINNIE - I think Winnie and Velma have the least in common, but they would still get along at least on a surface level. But Winnie loves sports and to run and jump and bite, and Velma is not exactly the sportiest person around.

My Disney asexual  headcanons that no one asked for--
Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, idk I feel like they’re above it
Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland, he’s too busy getting high on hookah
Genie, granted he’s a genital free creature but still
Timone/Pumba. I think they’re the pinnacle of a QPR, just bros being dudes
Sully from Monsters Inc. I know people ship him with Mike, but he’s never given me a single sexual or even romantic vibe
Dory
Edna Mode
Merida [personally I think she’s a lesbian asexual]
Elsa and olaf
Fred from Big Hero 6
Bruno and Luisa Madrigal [I know that Luisa is often thougth of as a lesbian, but I identified with her a lot and I’m asexual, so in my heart she’s asexual]
That’s all- I’m not open to criticism though I’d love to hear other’s headcanons!!

[movie review] halloween horror nights 30-related movies (texas chain saw massacre, bride of frankenstein, beetlejuice)
before i fly to florida to go to halloween horror nights 31 with my partner, i thought i'd recap my experiences at the past two halloween horror nights! so that'll be the next post, but in this one i'm gonna review the three movies that tied into some of the haunted houses we experienced.
the texas chain saw massacre (1974)
yeah so i’m not rewatching this sorry. i’ve seen it twice i think and i just really kind of don’t like it? which makes me a little sad because a good friend of mine wrote an incredible review on letterboxd about what makes this such an amazing movie and frankly you should probably just read that instead because it’s easily one of the best movie reviews on letterboxd like it made me genuinely regret not liking this movie.
but yeah no it’s just kinda gross and it has great bondage in it but there’s just so much grizzly stuff around it it’s almost a house of 1000 corpses sort of situation but even as someone who really doesn’t like this movie i can admit that it’s way better than house of 1000 corpses don’t get me wrong.
i don’t know guys, i just really don’t like gross-out horror? it’s just super not my jam. if you do like gross-out horror i have to imagine this movie is super up your alley, i’m not trying to knock it, it just really isn’t the kind of thing that appeals to me. c-rank
the bride of frankenstein (1935)
i fully intended to rewatch this one because i love it, but i just ran out of time before my trip! i still fully agree with this earlier review i wrote, though.
frankenstein’s monster crying, “friend!” as he’s forced to flee the monk’s burning home is one of the most heart-wrenching moments you’ll ever see in a film. and it does a better job of accomplishing everything the film’s ending is supposed to accomplish but without distracting amounts of sexism.
though it’s arguably subverted by her reaction, the entire idea of creating a woman to be a companion for the monsters parallels the story of eve being created from adam’s rib because that fucker was lonely, and it bothers me kind of a lot. and even taking the ending into account, it feels like what the audience is “supposed” to get out of it is a sense of tragedy that this woman that was created “for” the monster rejects him, all of the pathos is all centered on him. (also, like, she literally gets blown to smithereens when the monster gets mad that she doesn’t want to go to prom with him and decides to blow up everyone but daddy frankenstein and his wife. side note: why was there even a switch for that???)
this is still one of my favorite universal monsters movies because it’s very distinct and a little goofy and definitely has a very strong identity compared to the repetitive slogs many of the later sequels turn into. it still comes complete with a fairly abrupt (some would say anticlimactic) ending, though i’m actually reminded less of later universal monsters outings and more of beneath the planet of the apes.
the titular bride (really wish we had something better to call her) is important to the narrative only insofar as her rejection of the monster, and it’s really a shame because she has an iconic look and elsa lanchester knocks her brief performance out of the ballpark. (definitely better than her rather uneven performance in the framing narrative.) if i had to headcanon a continuing story for her, let’s say she goes off and finds fellow confirmed lesbian countess zaleska from dracula’s daughter and they live happily ever after conquering the world and all of us fear and love them as they reign over us in gothic splendor. a-rank
beetlejuice (1988)
i think everyone but me was the most excited for the beetlejuice (oh crap that’s three! aaaaaa) house that year, and it was also kind of pretty clearly the biggest headliner aside from that netflix show i’m not watching, so that was neat i guess?
but yeah i realized part of why i wasn’t super excited for it was i hadn’t seen the movie in FOREVER, so as a sort of combination of celebrating our trip to horror nights and “hey i wanna refresh my memory of this one” we ended up watching it, and yeah! it totally holds up. not something i’m gonna be clamoring to rewatch on the regular, but still just as solid as i remember.
michael keaton’s performance in this RULES, and i’m also a big geena davis fan both in general and here specifically. and the entire conceit of the afterlife having an inefficient bureaucracy to deal with, while certainly not how i think things work, is still an inspired choice to form a movie around.
lastly on a personal note i cannot believe my childhood gifted me both lydia deetz and wednesday addams and i was too much of a fucking coward to follow their example and be the goth i was meant to be I’M SORRY i’m trying to make up for it now! b-rank

some characters i headcanon as aro and/or ace
kusuo saiki (the disastrous life of saiki k)
this will come as no surprise considering my pfp, but whatever. he’s never really shown any signs of romantic attraction in the show, and has stated a few times that he doesn’t understand romance. not only that but i relate to him A Lot for other reasons so why not just project this onto him as well lmao. also teruhashi is aroace too. or a lesbian. or both.
abed nadir (community)
abed is greyromantic and in a qpr with troy do not even try to change my mind. i would say he’s 100% aromantic but he did have a girlfriend or two so it seems less likely. but he’s definitely on the aro spectrum and i like to think he’s ace, too. also just another example of me projecting :’)
katniss everdeen (the hunger games)
do not come at me with ‘but she kissed people and liked it!’ ‘she married peeta and had a kid with him!’ i do not care. she loved peeta but it was not romantic, it was that special type of love that i like to think only arospec people can feel :) they were in a qpr and got platonically (kinda) married and had a child because they’re a family! yeah i’m projecting. also arospec people can enjoy kissing it’s not a hard concept to comprehend. katniss everdeen is arospec (and probably ace too but i kinda like to headcanon her as aro allo) and started a family with her soulmate who she loves deeply. idk about you but that makes perfect sense to me.
elsa (frozen)
ngl this is partially out of spite bc disney tried to pull the whole ‘she’s not a lesbian, she’s just a strong, independent woman!’ well jokes on you bitch she’s queer now. and obviously there’s nothing wrong with being a strong independent woman, but to use that simply because they wanted to make sure nobody could say she was gay is…. icky. she’s definitely arospec though. destroying amatonormativity one dramatic ballad at a time.
otis (sex education)
this character is aroace in some way shape or form i don’t care what anyone says, i don’t care what the writers say, he had the perfect opportunity to be incredible aspec representation and so that’s what i’m making him. there’s still at least one more season of the show so i’m just holding on with every fibre of my being to that sweet sweet main character aspec rep that we all deserve.
oh and at least a few characters from the good place are aro and/or ace in some way.

Hey. Just a little stupid rumbling, I have no queer friends to talk about it. I stumbled upon an old video that talked about why Elsa should be a lesbian. I'll say that I don't give a flying fuck about frozen, I don't like Elsa and Disney is the devil, a money-hungry devil that doesn't care about the lgbtq+ community. Still, I hated how people implied that a lesbian character couldn't be femminist. It's good that they made a character that didn't have a romance arc and is happy by themself, sure, but also lesbians (and all of the queer community) can be happy by themselves, she could have been a lesbian and still remain single. It's not like we lesbians exist in this world just to have a gf, if it's the case where's mine? Why am I still single? Queer characters should just exist bc queer people just exist, they don't need to have only love stories.
I also hate people saying that if a character is queer it's ruined, like "this one is already good, wait for another one to be gay", thanks to people that say stuff like that we'll never have representation. I just thought how would it be if my favourite lesbian character ever wasn't a lesbian bc she also has a story that represents mental illness. If she was only queer coded and people would say like "but she already represents people with mental illness, make another one gay", like if intersectionality doesn't exist. It's so frustrating 😑
I understand, and I also think it’s very frustrating.
First is that it’s just so dumb saying that just because a character is a lesbian they’re not feminist. It doesn’t even make sense. Actually, of all the women I’ve seen the ones that are least feminist are cishet women. Queer people, especially women, tend to be feminists.
And I just hate whenever we headcanon a character as a lesbian that lesbophobes, just to invalidate our headcanon and be prejudiced, use the argument of “just because there isn’t a romance arc it doesn’t mean they’re a lesbian”. Like, babe, according to your own logic why does the character have to be straight by the absence of a romance arc? Are you saying lesbians are only lesbians when they’re in a relationship with a woman and proving to you their sexuality?
And I totally agree with you. Representation is not only showing queer characters in queer relationships, we’re not queer only when we’re dating someone, we’re queer all the time. Not being in a relationship does not make us straight.
People really don’t hide their homophobia. What’s the difference to you if the character is straight or not? It shouldn’t matter to you as a straight person. It matters to us because representation matters and we barely get any, especially good ones.
Homophobes unfortunately will always exist. As someone optimistic, I try to think positively that the next generations tend to be more open-minded and not care about sexualities at all. People are finally understanding that it doesn’t matter if you’re straight or not, because it doesn’t concern them at all.

All my Frozen LGBT headcanons
(For now). These are my own personal headcanons on which other people are obviously allowed to differ. Some have in-depth reasons and others are based on Vibes or ‘because I want to’.
Elsa is aromantic and asexual. Getting the most obvious one (for anyone who knows my blog) out of the way first. Elsa doesn’t show any interest in romance or dating, and she seems to enjoy her independence, opting for a solo life with occasional visits to her family over settling down with anyone. Also I’m aroace and I like her.
Anna is bisexual (or maybe pansexual). No real textual evidence for this, I just see Anna as someone who loves deeply and I think that her love could be directed at any gender. The reason she only considers men at first is because she grew up reading traditional heterosexual fairy tales.
Kristoff is bi too, but also on the aro spectrum (probably greyromantic). Unlike Anna, who if she’d met enough people would have been the teenager who has a new crush every week, I think Kristoff was only occasionally interested in anyone, and it never lasted very long until Anna came along.
Olaf is nonbinary. Sure, he describes himself as a boy once, but I don’t think it means the same to him as it does to a cis boy or binary trans boy. He’s a snowman. That’s kind of its own gender. Plus I’m nonbinary and I must project onto someone. (Also he’s ace by default because sentient snowmen are spawned by magic and don’t have sexual reproduction)
Ryder is gay. This is mostly based on vibes, but also he seems like he could be interested in Kristoff, and it adds a new meaning to him admitting he knows nothing about women.
Honeymaren is either a lesbian or bi (with a preference for women). She just has big wlw energy.
Speaking of big wlw energy, Yelena is a lesbian. I have no real reason, but I have decided and I will not be dissuaded.
