THE BOYS TAKING CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU’RE SICK

SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH THE BOYS

lando and you have a little bit of fun in his driver’s room, an innocent task turns heated between charles and you, being in oscar’s childhood bedroom makes you feel and do things, max can’t keep his hands off of you at the FIA gala, alex sneaks inside the changing room, daniel and you hide in the airplane bathroom, mick can’t get enough of you even at the club, you spend seven minutes in the closet with logan thanks to a dare and lance makes sure you’re alone in his parent’s house.

MAKEUP SHOPPING WITH THE BOYS

lando doesn’t really likes to go shopping but for you he’ll do anything, charles is always asking if you need anything when you go out shopping together, oscar will follow you anywhere, max would give you the world if he could, alex and you have a monthly date to go shopping, daniel likes spoiling you, mick knows your favorite brand, you don’t even have to ask him and logan doesn’t know anything but he’s willing to learn.

THEO NOTT: DATING HEADCANONS

A/N: Theo is practically irrelevant to the HP series and almost entirely fan made, so this is just how I characterize him. Anyway, here’s my second favorite boy (right behind Tom).

His reputation doesn’t mean as much to him as other pure-bloods and Slytherins, so you being in a different house or being a half-blood/muggleborn isn’t going to deter him from wanting to be with you.

Will not introduce you to his father if he has any say in it, ESPECIALLY if you’re anything other than a pure-blood.

Might be hesitant to introduce you to his friends because if they offend you he will not hesitate to confront them about it, but would rather not get into a fight with his friends if he can help it.

Would 110% fight another witch/wizard over you. Typically just hexes them, but if another wizard takes it too far he’s more than willingly to fight the muggle way.

Controversial: doesn’t smoke that often, only once a day after classes end, but always invites you. He likes to hear you talk about your day, doesn’t matter how “boring” you thought it was.

Lover boy through and through. You are this man’s everything.

You once mentioned that your father used to write your mom love letters and how sweet you thought it was. So for the next 2 weeks Theo gave you little love notes throughout the day everyday.

He’s on the quiet side, so you’re the one carrying the conversation usually, but does chime in to make sure you know he’s actually listening.

Doesn’t come from a loving family, so will greedily eat up any kind touch/word you give to him.

Absolutely melts if you make/buy him any type of jewelry. He has so much money and could afford the most expensive jewelry the wizarding world has to offer, but would choose the cheap beaded bracelet you made him instead any day.

The type to do self-care with you. Face mask? Cool. Manicures? He already has a color picked out. Need help with your hair? Just tell him what to do.

Like everyone he is still human and does have negative traits.

Theo knows he is witty and has a sharp tongue when provoked and he doesn’t want to hurt your feelings. So he’d rather you be angry that he’s not taking the conversation about how you feel seriously than hurt your feelings.

Theo wishes he could say he trust you completely, but his upbringing has left him with trust issues. There’s always a little voice in the back of his mind saying you’re going to fuck him over or leave him one day.

Tries his best not to listen to it. But can’t help but read into your every move, so if he gets suspicious of you that’s when the petty side of him comes out.

It pretty much consists of him accusing you and bringing up things you’re insecure about / struggling with.

Only stops if you walk away or as soon as he sees your tears.

Will apologize, but his apologies are a little on the awkward side, so they feel insincere.

Controversial (again): not kinky in bed, he’s actually fairly vanilla. The kinkiest thing this man does is fuck you from the back. Is willing to experiment though if you really want him to.

Uses typical pet names on you: babe/baby/love. But if he’s looking to tease you he calls you ‘princess’.

Father/Marriage bonus:

GIRL DAD!!! GIRL DAD ALERT!!!

Almost threw up when he first held her because of adrenaline and fear of accidentally dropping her.

Is pretty hands on, helps in any way he can when he’s not working.

Spoils his daughter to hell and back. No one tells his little girl ‘no’.

Married you a few years after your daughter is born. You two had been together since your years at Hogwarts, but the both of you wanted to take it slow as you were both still young. When you got pregnant it was honestly an accident, and once the baby was born you were so wrapped up in being new parents that marriage wasn’t crossing either of your minds.

Satoru Gojo

His love language is physical touch, so you know this man is a massive cuddle bug! If you have the opportunity, you guys are cuddling.

This may be controversial but I stand by this next take: He is the little spoon. Like, He’ll be the big spoon, but he 100% prefers to be the little spoon

He’s a soft boy that just needs a hug ok? Protect him!

His favorite date nights are stay at home movie nights. Not because he likes movies, he does, but it’s not why. He’s excited to hold you close while you drift to sleep, the soft sounds of you snoring reminding him that there is beauty in the small moments of life.

I feel so bad for you guys in the summer, because it doesn’t matter to him how hot it is, he’s going to cuddle with you. You’re going to pass out tangled in his arms and wake up tangled in them. Who needs his giant California king, if he has it his way, y'all take up only enough space for a twin

He just wants to hold you while the two of you whisper about your future together. The colors of your wedding, how many kids the two of you wanted, where you’d move your family once it was all said and done.

It’s all fantasy, of course. The equivalent of making up the most dramatic scenarios to soothe yourself to sleep. But still, it gives him a fleeting sense of comfort. Late at night, when it’s just him and the sound of your steady heart-beat, it gives him hope that maybe, just maybe, one day he won’t just be playing domestic with you. He can actually be domestic with you.

Maybe that's why Gojo values cuddling so much. He’s intimacy starved and needs to create it in anyway, ya know?

Anyways, moral of the story is: Satoru loves cuddling, and I hope you do too!

 Sidenote: I just know this man gives the best hugs/cuddles. His arms are that long for a reason god damn it.

Suguru Geto

…..He’s not a big cuddler- HEY HEY, PUT AWAY THE PITCHFORKS, LET ME EXPLAIN-

He’s not a big cuddler! It’s hot, he doesn’t know where to put his limbs, and his arm always falls asleep. 

Which is why when you insist on cuddling with him and he's actually comfortable it’s kind of a big deal for him. (See? Put down your torches.)

He still doesn’t want to admit that he likes cuddling though. At this point it’s like, almost a pride thing. So he’s a sneaky cuddler. 

You’re watching Hulu on the couch when suddenly there's an arm around you. You go to sleep on separate sides of the bed but wake up tangled in his arms. You’re quietly reading on your front porch and suddenly his arms are wrapped around you, asking you about the book.

My point being, He never directly asks for cuddles, he just kinda cuddles you then reads your body language to see if he’s welcome or not, ya feel?

I will say, and yall should see this coming, the only time he’s openly receptive to cuddles is when he’s showing you new music. 

He’ll hold you close, playing with your fingers while the two of you discuss lyrical meanings and parts of the music you like. 

He’ll tap out the beat of the song on your thigh while he holds you what feels impossibly close, kissing the top of your head. You could feel the vibration in his chest as he hummed along to the melody. Music will always be how Suguru feels intimacy.

I really do always bring it back to music with him, don’t I?

Kento Nanami

Nanami honestly feels neutral about cuddling. If you want it, cool! If not, also cool. He doesn’t crave it the way Gojo does, but he also isn’t against it the way Geto is.

The exception being after a mission. Especially the missions that take him away from home. When he gets home from those, he’s dropping his bags on the floor then holding out his arms and making grabby hands.

Missions always suck for Nanami since he started dating you, because now he’s scared of death. Don’t get me wrong, beforehand he wasn’t suicidal or anything- he for sure wasn’t going to make stupid moves or put his life at risk. But death also didn’t scare him, it just came with the job.

But now you’re here. And he knows that if he dies, It’s going to destroy you. He can’t have that, so his already stressful job just got 10000 times more stressful, because literally every mission is a brush with death for a first grade sorcerer.

So when he gets home, The only thing he wants is to collapse on your shared bed, and hold the person he does all of this for. It’s the reward he gets for making it this far.

It’s quiet too. Nanami is not one to talk about his work, but you can tell how stressful it was by how long he insists on cuddling with you. Only an hour or two? Eh, probably not that big of a deal. But one time he literally held you until you both fell asleep and well into the next morning. Satoru let you know that Nanami actually almost died that night, and only survived thanks to Shoko being a healer. 

Nanami almost killed him for telling you. He never wants you to worry.

Also he’s definitely the big spoon. Look at him. Tell me I’m wrong.

He just takes comfort in your presence, knowing you’re there and you love him helps.

Someone give Nanami a hug for me, thank youuu

Ryomen Sukuna

Oh Ryomen, my boy. What are we going to do with you? You’re not a part of the request and you don’t fit it, but I have to force you into all things, don’t I?

As a heads up, Sukuna comes with a slight nsfw warning. It is suggestive.

Sukuna is not into cuddling. Really, he’s ambivalent at best, against at worst, any touch that doesn’t lead to sex.

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t cuddle though. If you’re watching tv or going to bed and it's convenient, whatever. He won’t push you away. 

He’s not going to hide anything that pops up either if you get what I’m saying. He’s less of a ‘oh my bad’ type of guy and more of a ‘and what are you gonna do about it?’ kinda guy.

Now, all of that being said, I’ve said before that Sukuna lives in a domestic delusion with you in his head. So if you go too long without asking him to cuddle up with you, he gets angry about it. Like, what, is he not good enough to cuddle you now?! Get over here and accept his affection!

If that sounds confusing to you that's because yes. It is!

Really, the tragedy of Ryomen is that he craves intimacy and affection, but he can never bring himself to admit that because that would mean weakness and vulnerability. He wants you to recognize that he needs these things without him telling you. Like, of course he likes cuddling! He doesn’t kill you when you cuddle him, does that not make it obvious! It shouldn’t matter he’s told you he doesn’t like it!

God I feel so bad for all the Sukuna girlies out there.

Hey there, Happy New Year! Sorry if this ask seems confusing.

I've really come to enjoy your blog as someone who is kind of new to navigating the world of comics and how to read them and you seem to be one of the people that's more vocal about all the fanon and canon differences and how that damages people's perception of characters. I'm just a bit confused in what you consider to be the difference of headcanons and fanon, I know fanon is a more of something that a big number of people believe, but if someone headcanons something that isn't covered in canon, would that be "bad" or fall on the fandom category?

wrt fanon vs canon my issue is this — parts of comic fandom are very vocal about not engaging with the source material. deciding what fanon is “good” vs “bad” isn’t the point because im not interested in policing peoples fandom experience. however there is a point where i don’t understand what exactly some people are fans of, because what they talk about is so disconnected from the original text.

imagine meeting a hunger games fan, and when u ask about their favourite movie or book, they instead tell u that they’ve never read or seen any part of the series, exclusively read fanfiction, and then inform u that they believe president snow is peeta’s grandfather and that actually haymitch was the authoritarian mastermind behind the hunger games. that doesn’t make any sense, and has no basis in canon. it’s a very extreme hypothetical, but i wouldn’t really take what they say about the hunger games seriously. it also reminds me a bit of the hp marauders fanworks that exist almost autonomously to the books (while still containing the same issues as said books).

most fanon enjoyers (and this is particularly pervasive with batfam fans) enjoy characters and relationships that simply do not exist. that alone isn’t a problem (crackships and headcanons have existed since ye olde star trek zine days) but the issue is that these fanon interpretations are loudly asserted as being the correct way to engage with the characters. i do not believe it should be controversial to prefer characters in their canonical text, or to ask why some fanon content is taken as gospel, especially when so much of it is racialised.

this lends into a wider trend where these headcanons are respected more than canon despite often being actively reductive, accidentally demeaning, or just plain bad faith interpretations. it’s much harder to combat the racism present in conversations about damian wayne when the people in question aren’t grant morrison or judd winick or scott snyder, but instead a nebulous group of people on twitter.

flatly, i encourage people to read the source material. there are a lot of comics, but googling ‘[literally any character] reading list’ has literally never been easier. start by consuming the movies or cartoons or films or shows or the one volume graphic novels, then pinpoint what u like and start from there. people are discouraged from reading comics — and they shouldn’t be!! especially for popular characters there are very accessible starting points!! u will find characters to love with rich history and lore!!!! support queer artists and artists of colour who are actively changing the industry!!! i guarantee that the fanon version of that male character u love is actually originally from a female character with a great miniseries written by greg rucka!!!!

When did Viktor choreograph Stammi Vicino and did he commission the music?

There are some controversies regarding Viktor's free programme and I took the time to look at them in greater detail and pin them down to the likeliest explanation. (some of the things discussed in this post I've mentioned in a discussion I was involved in recently. The rest of this post builds on that.)

Disclaimer: Please note that this is an analysis of the source material. Popular headcanons that have no basis in canon cannot be part of this discussion. This is getting a bit academic. Please bear with me.

1. Did Viktor commission the music for Stammi Vicino?

In an interview, Mitsurou Kubo called the aria a piece of music that exists in the world of YOI, but when we subject the hints in the anime to a close examination, they contradict her statement, making you wonder which is true.

Technically, the YOI creators might just have used footage of this programme because there was no time to animate Viktor skating an entirely different routine, but due to the tight time constraints of 12 episodes that forced the creators to condense the plot to 50% of its initial size, every scene and every image demanded to be filled with meaning. Speaking of time constraints, they could have used a series of pictures that show adult Viktor in different costumes (like those that had been drawn for Yuuri's room), but they didn't do that either, which rules out technical reasons for this choice.

But there’s more.

From a storytelling perspective, it makes no sense to combine these lines with a short scene of Viktor skating Stammi Vicino if it doesn’t apply to this programme. It’s bad storytelling, period. As Viktor’s fan, Yuuri knows which songs Viktor commissioned because skaters love to talk about these things in interviews. Being a skater himself, Yuuri is knowledgeable in all kinds of music genres even if he lets his coach pick the songs for him. Skaters just happen to be exposed to a lot of music.

This scene makes it seem as if Viktor has been commissioning music for his programmes for several seasons at least. While this doesn’t rule out the possibility that he occasionally picked a song that already exists for whichever reason, Stammi Vicino applies to Viktor’s situation at the beginning of the show so neatly that the lyrics must have been tailored to him. The commentator’s words while Viktor is skating his FS furthermore suggest that this programme shows a new and personal side of him. Of course, that could also work for a song that already exists, but how likely is it that such a song 100% matches the vision of a perfectionist? That a genius like Viktor would just roll with that is debatable at least. He’d rather think “Okay, that’s nice. But this verse and that verse don’t match my idea at all. I think I'll call my composer and ask them to write a song for me.”

Stammi Vicino holds unambiguous references to Plato’s Symposium, which the YOI creators have mentioned repeatedly. And while this is neither an argument for or against the song already existing before Viktor even thought about a free programme for the season in question, it seems too coincidental from a storytelling perspective.

To me, all this points to Viktor commissioning Stammi Vicino because taken all facts together, it’s what makes the most sense.

Side note: It’s not entirely uncommon for storytellers to contradict their creation. Sometimes, you forget details, remember them wrong, or didn’t think them through. Or your views simply change. In the case of YOI, we have to factor in the possibility that certain details had to be de-homoed due to protests from parts of the Japanese fandom. The rings that were removed from many official arts that were released during the first year after the show had aired are such an example. In addition, interviews are often heavily edited.

2. When did Viktor choreograph Stammi Vicino?

The first time we see Viktor wearing the Stammi Vicino costume, is right at the beginning of episode 1 at the GPF. While there is no rule against wearing the same costume for different programmes and costumes are expensive, you usually don’t see this in real figure skating. Some figure skaters even get a new costume for the same programme mid-season because matches the purpose better.

The music, the composition and choreography, and costume build the concept of a figure skating programme. The more perfectionist a skater is (and many top skaters actually are), the more specific you can bet they are about the concept. Viktor is a perfectionist who has full authority over his programmes and he can afford having several costumes per programme. Wearing the same costume for several programmes is a breach with his characterisation.

Let’s assume for one moment that Viktor did indeed create Stammi Vicino because of his encounter with Yuuri at the GPF in Sochi. Why would the creators have been so sloppy and put him into the same costume which he wears at Worlds when they even designed costumes the other two GPF winners JJ and Chris?

Does he wear the same costume because he met Yuuri there? Well, Yuuri approached him at the banquet at the end of the competition and only because he was drunk. Before, Yuuri was to awkward to even talk to Viktor and was, in all likelihood, too busy not freaking out, dealing with having bombed his performance, and Vicchan's death. To reflect Viktor's first actual meeting with Yuuri in a programme, thus choosing a costume that resembles the suit he wore that night would make way more sense.

Some skaters change their programme mid-season. Some switch back to an old programme, other skaters create an entirely new programme. Again, a skater like Viktor could afford this and is skilled enough to bend a new routine to his vision in time for the big competitions. (For reference: Russian Nationals are two weeks after the GPF, which leaves a skater competing in both events one week in between. That’s just enough to pitch the idea to his composer and commission a costume.)

Once Nationals are over and done, Viktor could start working on the new programme and show it at Europeans for the first time. That would leave him about one month to bring it to a level that will win him this competition. Yuuri would now have about two months to create a perfect copy. As he his busy graduating and preparing his move back to Japan, it’s debatable whether this is enough time. That’s the only reasonable timeline for such a scenario. However, since Viktor wore the costume before the banquet, this doesn’t seem likely and the show gives us no clear-cut clue why that could be and I’m loath to speculate wildly.

BUT: Viktor can't have created this programme after Sochi because Yuuri explains to Yuuko that he started practising the programme when the competitions ended [for him, the season itself is not yet over]. For Yuuri, the season ended at Japanese Nationals, which happen to be at the same weekend as Russian Nationals.

Long story short: Everything points to Viktor having created Stammi Vicino at the beginning of the season in which he wins his fifth GPF and world title, respectively. And there’s a beauty in this choice because it gives Viktor an agenda beyond his love interest. Well-crafted characters exist outside of their interactions and relationships with the other characters. Giving them things that belong to them alone adds more depth to their personality and turn them into individuals. Viktor had a life before Yuuri and this life was lonely and his (secret) longing for love was an inherent part of it (I’m preparing a follow-up post that examines the lyrics more closely, so forgive me for not going into the details here).

Especially in a show that is limited to 12 episodes and in which every image is filled with meaning, including details that hint at the characters’ past are beyond precious.

I know you said headcanons, but I thought of a concept for a mini fic and couldn't help myself 😅 I tried to get in how everyone (minus Sorbet n Gelato) would react and it's just really silly. Also I've only seen Saw once and that was when I was 8, so I hope I got what you mean. I think you mean that one puppet dude?? I hope so

Every day, everywhere you go, you'd bring that thing with you.

The puppet with cracked paint and eyes more daunting than the ones that belong to your boss. It'd perch itself on your lap most of the time, staring blankly into a void. Your stand stirred up controversy within the team. Bets were made surrounding what exactly your doll was and why it was with you all the time.

"No, listen- it has to be a stand. No way they'd just hang out with a creepy doll like that," Formaggio explained. Illuso, Pesci, and Melone sat with them at a dining room table, eyeing you across the room. "I don't think so..I think I've seen it stare at me even when they're not in the room." Pesci shuttered. Melone laughed, "It could just be long range. That puppet is no different than Babyface." Melone shrugged. "Whatever it is, it's cheap looking," Illuso scoffed, scanning the design of the puppet. "What stand has plastic hair?"

Just then, Ghiaccio walked by and Formaggio called him over. "Hey! Ghiaccio! We need your input for something." The blue haired man only responded with a raised eyebrow. "What do you think Y/n's doll thing is?" "I don't know...it's not my business anyways." Ghiaccio shrugged and went back to the living room beside you, acting as if the doll next to him didn't exist. Melone groaned, "We're going nowhere..." "Why don't you just ask them?" Risotto questioned, Prosciutto looked on behind him. "Because it's weird...who knows they might put a curse on me or something," Formaggio frowned.

"Well, we should do it anyways," Illuso chimed in. "Nose goes!" The brunette called, immediately putting his finger to the tip of his nose. The other men followed, but Pesci was too late. Severus Snape rant

Disclaimer: I don't support JK Rowling's views and I'm not a TERF. TERFs, DNI for you.

Sorry for ranting, y'all. I'll try to keep things quick (note from the future: be warned. I failed). Spoilers and mentions of friendship toxicity and bullying under the cut.

By the way, for this I am generally talking about regular canon. When I discuss things people think about this, the headcanons are generally assumed to go alongside regular canon to complement it. I understand that there are fix-it fics out there where everyone is happy, and while I love that, I'm talking about how JK Rowling let it play out.

Don’t interact with this post if you only want to insult me/my writing style. I am not accusing anyone of doing this, but I can see that there is a very definitive downward spiral, and I don’t want to see the bottom of it. However, I am willing to listen to arguments until things turn into personal attacks.

I don’t care that much about Snape: just a few lines on a page. I understand people have strong opinions on him (me too!). That’s fine. But I’m a real person, just like all the people on this platform (well, except bots). Let’s embrace that, and focus on the fact that we are all, in the end, Harry Potter fans.

Let me start with this: Severus Snape shouldn't be with Lily.

To keep to the simple stuff and the things most people can agree on first, no one "deserves" Lily. In this post, I was nearly guilty myself of talking like this, but please keep in mind: Lily Evans is not some kind of consolation prize, something given out to whoever is deemed the most worthy, the most angsty, whatever. Regardless of Snape's virtues (or lack of them: but give me a sec) he won't somehow earn the right to be in a romantic pairing with Lily. In all the stuff on the table in terms of how Lily viewed Snape, she wanted a platonic relationship. So that's part of what I have an issue with: talking about canon as if there was any part of romantic thing on the table. Lily never had a crush on Snape. It was a one-sided thing.

Now, to controversy. Let's address some common reasons for why people say Lily shouldn't have ditched Snape and why these shouldn't excuse his behavior. Keep in mind I'm talking about things that happened before Lily's death, because after death doesn't really matter to her. She's dead by then.

Snape had a bad home/school life.

That's true. But he then chose to continue the cycle of pain by joining a pureblood supremacist group and calling fellow students slurs?

2. The Marauders did some terrible stuff to him.

I really need a disclaimer here. THIS WAS TERRIBLE, AND I HATED IT, AND THE MARAUDERS WERE COMPLETELY IN THE WRONG HERE.

But this post isn't defending the Marauders, it's arguing that Lily was justified in choosing to let go of their friendship.

Anyway, this is an irrelevant excuse for why Lily should remain friends with him, because she thought this was terrible too... and then Severus screamed a slur at her when she was trying to help him. Way to go, Snape.

3. He loved Lily.

Hold up. Stop the clock.

Wut.

Wut.

Okay, this needs to be a new section. Let's call it:

Being In Love With Someone Doesn't Excuse Your Actions Towards Them

Quick story time, cause this section uses an extensive metaphor. IRL, I used to be best friends with this girl. She was toxic and refused to change.

Her excuses for why I should keep hanging out with her?

Current mental health situation.

Things just "slipped out". (Yeah, Snape LITERALLY USED THIS EXACT EXCUSE)

I was really important to her (So was Lily to Snape)

I stopped being friends with this girl regardless, because her actions harmed my mental health, isolated me, etc.

(And before someone says friendship is different etc. she had a crush on me two Valentine's days in a row and I'm unsure if she still does)

These are all excuses. Let's define that word for a second.

"attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify." -Oxford Languages from Google.

Contrast with an apology, where someone actually tries to make things better. Snape constantly gives excuses. His apology comes much, much too late in the form of begging Lily. Now, with my own toxic friend, she also claimed to want to make things better.

In the case of both Snape and Toxic Friend, they'd continually insisted it wasn't their fault, ignoring the problems in the relationship and not making an effort to fix them. By the time Lily and I broke things off, we'd made up our minds. We turned away and felt good about it, because they negatively impacted our lives.

Maybe Snape was in love. Maybe my friend really wanted to be friends with me. Both are probable.

Still, neither followed through on the steps necessary for a good friendship.

Depersonification, aka Lily is a Person Not A Shiny Toy, Severus

Crack open your books, hit play on the movie, or simply recall as we all remember how Snape looked at Lily.

In the books (won't mention the movies because I didn't watch them) he looks at Lily and Harry sees "undisguised greed" in his eyes. Um...

Snape's fine with hurting Petunia, figuratively and literally.

He ignores what Lily is actually trying to say to him once she tells him what he wants to hear.

And calling her Mudblood. (Can't help myself interrupting here: I myself never 'just accidentally' call someone a racial slur. That's because I don't use them, so they aren't exactly waiting on the tip of my tongue).

All of the things he does are in there for a reason. JK Rowling is trying to unsettle us, and she succeeded. Snape seems to view Lily as an accomplishment, an achievement, a plaything to be admired.

Why?

He never takes Lily's feelings into consideration. Not once until it negatively impacts him. Look at where he comforts Lily: when it looks like they've made a mistake and hurt Petunia.

When Lily gives up on him.

And I know: there was more, there was more, there was more.

Potions homework done together.

Eager chatter between classes.

It's not black and white.

But these are the scenes JK Rowling has decided will give you the best impression of their friendship. She didn't pick tender scenes with cocoa and cookies because that isn't a theme in this friendship.

And onwards to:

They Used To Be Friends, Why Did Lily Stop Talking To Him Like This

It's hard to know what a person is truly like. You only know what people show you, and they hold back the worst of themselves at first. In Lily's first scenes, she doesn't know everything. She doesn't see the greedy looks he gives her. He is a new boy about her age who understands her like nobody else in town could.

Years go by. He calls people like her "Mudblood", he makes friends with awful classmates who do illegal and immoral things and are rumored to be training for war. The other side of the war, the one that kills people.

He shows her the worse sides.

By the time he calls her Mudblood, she has already tried to stop him from going down the wrong path. He's ignored her and ignored her and she finally snaps.

Can you blame her?

This apology seems like yet another excuse, a means to an end of keeping her by his side.

She's had enough.

Conclusion

So concludes the saga of Lily and Severus.

As he makes his decisions and she hers, Lily perishes saving a son whom Snape will later torment in her classes.

Harry grows up.

Snape oversees the creation of a school designed for indoctrination, watching passively as cruciatus curses are dished out. Her son meets him on the battlefield.

Voldemort gets to Snape first.

And thus, Snape meets his end.

And that's it, because things work out like that sometimes. Snape chose his path in life. Lily responded accordingly. And years later, he continued to stay stagnant in character growth, even becoming a child's worst fear from his unequally distributed cruelty.

I'm actually super surprised to see that there are people who don't like Halsin. I guess I've found myself in the right circles because I've never seen anything but love for him!

Ok, so I've been trying to gather my thoughts on this, because it's not a fun topic to discuss. But some of the most insane takes I have seen has been like this:

While others are pointing out how insane it sounds and getting call out posts for it as though they have had no good reason to talk about it:

It's gotten bad enough that Dave Jones, Halsin's voice actor, is being quoted by people saying he should be put on a list:

Dave is a voice actor. A goddamn voice actor. He doesn't have control over how Halsin is written nor is he endorsing any creepy behavior. This is a serious accusation to make and honestly, why are Halsin haters following the voice actor of a character they hate?!

People are entitled to their feelings and they have a right to feel safe, but that does not give them the right to falsely accuse real people for things that did not happen.

This is fictional work. Fictional characters who are written out with a set plan in mind. We know Halsin's intent from start to finish and it's never changed like other, more controversial characters are intended like:

Halsin: I understand, and I will cherish our relationship.

Minthara: I already know your mind. I will know your body, one way or another.

This is not a condemnation of Minthara. She's intended to be difficult and bossy, because she had to be in the cutthroat world of the Underdark. This is, however, intended to be a comparison of the double standards I've been seeing from fans and wish would be applied fairly and civilly. I would deeply dislike being deceived if I was a new player trying out this game and found out I had been misled so badly on different characters. I've already felt aggravation finding out fans pushed a popular headcanon over what's actually in the game in other games.

Was Astarion a child by Elven standards when he was changed?:

Yes and no! I don't think that Astarion was literally a child (obviously), but culturally I do absolutely believe he was regarded as a child/young adult. Elves live for nearly a millennia and there's no way that that comes without the interpretation that ages much greater than our own are exceedingly young to them.

An Elven man who hasn't even hit his first century of life? Even in the most human-saturated cultures, that is very young. And while other people/races may not have treated him as such, his parents certainly thought so.

How tall is Astarion?:

5'11", per the Githyanki description of him. Though I go a little feral over 5'9" Astarion too,,,

What is Astarion's natural eye color?:

I prefer Topaz! I like the thought of this ghostly haired, golden eyed pretty boy who turns desaturated and red when his life his stolen from him. I even like to think that maybe when he was alive he'd do the redhead thing where his skin would explode with faint freckles when he spent too much time in the sun, and the vampirism washed them away.

Dom or Sub? Top or Bottom?:

Dom/Top leaning switch, in my opinion. Astarion is reveling in having control for the first time in centuries, and I think for an extremely long time that's all he's willing to do as well. I'd go so far as to say that he likely has some very poor reactions the first time he tries to let go of the reigns.

However, once he grows to truly love, trust, adore Tav? Say when those fateful six months have passed? I could see him giving it a try. If Tav is gentle with him, patient with him, I think the amount of love and attention he's being given would have him cumming harder than he ever has before.

In the least to say, Tav has unleashed a very spoiled little nightmare onto their hands alone.

The Twins?:

I genuinely believe he wants to try, here. He's still riding the high of feeling free, and Astarion is an exceptionally impulsive, brash person. He doesn't like plans, he doesn't like waiting. He's free! Everything has to be better now, yes?

Except... it's not, and he responds poorly to it. I don't think he particularly wants to talk about it afterward, either. It's not a "too traumatized to talk" thing, it's a "too humiliated and frustrated to talk" thing. He needs to be given time, to have Tav wait for him to come around on his own terms. Trying to comfort him while his emotions on it are still a live wire will have him snapping at them. It comes off as pity to him.

Halsin?:

Controversial, but no.

I don't doubt Astarion wants to be okay with it. I think he'd love to be exactly as confident and cocksure as he acts, but I don't believe the span of the game to be long enough to erase centuries of sexual trauma and deep rooted feelings of self-loathing and inadequacy.

Halsin is one of the few he registers as an actual threat to the relationship, in my mind. In part because he's so eager to open the relationship. So trusting, so loving. And he's also just... a big hunk of all of that. So Astarion will force himself to accept it, because having part of Tav is better than having none of them.

Now... the more important question.

Could he ever be okay with it?

Yes! Just not so soon.

Give him time to breathe and grow, to accept who he is. To accept that Tav genuinely, actually loves him for the long term, and he'll damn well become a freak himself. It's just not within a span of days or weeks at most of being free. And I don't believe Astarion will ever actually fully okay with sharing Tav emotionally. Sex? Sure. Love? Not so much. He's a jealous boy.

Just saying... Six month reunion orgy.

Ascend Astarion or Spawn Astarion?:

Spawn! But both are EXTREMELY fun. I like the infinite possibilities of Ascended Astarion, both good and horribly bad. Want your deepest, darkest, dead dove angst unhealthy relationship? Yes! Want your dark romantic, sexy relationship? Yes! Want your Dracula Lisa? Yes!

However realistically, A!Star is a shitbag and I will take my little Spawn and his gaggle of seven thousand accidents. I love seeing how disgustingly infatuated he is with Tav by the end.

Can Ascended Astarion become/stay good?:

I think so! But that's just because of how open his story becomes. He's a shitbag the first six months but we really have absolutely no clue where he's going from there. NOW ARE THE ODDS BAD? Yes...

But that's what fanfiction and headcanons are for, no?

Is Astarion good, evil, or morally grey?:

Morally grey, methinks. I don't like how people gun so hard for one or the other, both pretending that they know him best. It's in my opinion that he's neither as foul or as good as people like to make him out to be. There's a reason so much of his story was retconned or wiped out before it ever even came to fruition.

He's complicated, mean, spiteful. But he also loves and cares, fusses, grows for Tav, and so incredibly fast. That's not an evil or good man. But one that could become whatever he chooses.

Post-game Astarion HCs:

I have a few routes for Astarion that I desperately enjoy. However I think it remains a constant that Astarion is not ready to immediately settle down after the end of the game. He's been trapped in the city, in Cazador's Manor for centuries. He wants to go, to see, he wants to stretch his legs and see what the world has become, what he's missed out on.

He wants to go spelunking in ancient ruins, he wants to mind artifacts, he wants to find a cure. He wants to wipe the blood from Tav's face and devour them in the aftermath of battle. In his mind, Astarion has all eternity to settle down now.

However, in a similar vein. For a Tav who can't adventure? Well, he has all eternity after they pass. There's no point wasting such precious time, when he can cherish every last minute he has with the person who helped him feel love again.

I think that either way, once he does settle down, Astarion becomes a tailor. A very popular one at that. Not for the typical reasons— though he is incredibly talented.

People flock to him for the simple fact that he never gives them exactly what they want. It's a surprise, every time.

Fitted perfect to their body, completely bespoke designs, and completely a mystery until it ends up in the customers hands. But one thing is universally guaranteed; the end result is spectacular.

His immediate fame comes from the noble youth of Baldur's Gate. Forced into dresses or suits that they don't want, uncomfortable and crawling in their skin. Too feminine, too masculine, doesn't fit, doesn't— Astarion can sniff their grief and discomfort from a mile off. And parents who wanted dresses get suits, parents who wanted suits get dresses, with a very simple: "No refunds."

Pre-Cazador/Magistrate Astarion HCs:

OKAY this is the one that I've stewed on the longest.

I don't think he was evil. Nice? No. But not evil.

The reason I say this is because, most people who think he's a crooked Magistrate turning dirty deals is because of Early Access. But EA all but outright states Astarion isn't just a crook, he's practically a slave driver for Cazador and knew him intimately. Several of these things (gladly) have been retconned or entirely removed from his storyline.

What we do have however, is that in his first decade of servitude, knowing full well he'll be beaten and tortured, he lets some boy go for being sweet to him for all of one night. That doesn't give the temperament of someone who is so self serving and so vile that he'd sell people for cash.

Instead, my personal interpretation is this:

High Elves are- as far as I can tell- exceedingly privileged, even in Baldur's Gate. And for Astarion to be a Magistrate so young? It gives me the image that his family was at the very least very wealthy, if not outright nobility themselves.

As a result, Astarion likely grew never knowing personal strife. He was privileged, spoiled, doted upon. Part of the prime demographic to be protected by the city guard and the Flaming Fists.

And as we know, Astarion is impulsive, rash, short sighted, lacking in empathy at the best of times. I think that due to his own upbringing and his singular perspective on how effectively the guard works for people like him. He couldn't see past his own nose, couldn't imagine a world where the guard is draconian instead of just, that they have favoritism and turn the other cheek to crime if its against people they don't like or for enough coin in their pockets.

I think he very genuinely believed in the judicial system, blindly so.

He wasn't a crook, he was a zealot.

The only way he could ever see a person breaking the law is because they truly wanted to, and therefore they're deserving of the harshest punishments of the law. To the letter. (Remember what he says during the tests?)

But that doesn't exactly make friends. Sure, he was doing his job exactly how it was meant to be done. But that means both the innocent being punished overly harshly, and the actual crooks not getting out by coin or bribery.

And that leads him straight to Cazador. This beautiful, confident, exceedingly naive and gullible magistrate that would be prime pickings. Who made himself an enemy by being too strict in his rulings. Easy to pay off someone already resentful of his choices. Wait for him to fall, and sweep in at his most desperate.

The ending result being that Astarion swings savagely in the opposite direction. Because his becomes a story of cosmic irony, such blind faith in the city only to be so horribly failed. Only to become one of the people that he would have punished savagely without any empathy for his plight.

Hence being gentle enough to save someone's life at the expense of his own, those fledgling ten years of his initial transformation. Not a nice man, not an evil one.

Gemini is so neurodivergent I don't know how nobody's talking about it.

OKAY, strap in, this one's gonna be long, and it's gonna be ranty, and I'm going to do it anyways.

Gemini is probably my favorite character... EVER. They are so perfect, I love them so much, I will die on this hill. They are the one constant for me. In this crazy, overly controversial fandom, in this crazy, overly controversial world, we all have one thing we can count on: Gemini. AND THEY GET SO LITTLE SCREENTIME! But that's not why I'm here.

So, almost everyone in TSBS has signs of some sort of mental illness or neurodivergency. This is not new. But I really wanna get into it with Gemini because I feel like nobody cares enough about them!

So, I'm going to split this up into parts. One for Pollux, one for Castor, and one for Gemini. Just to make it easier. LET'S GO!

Pollux:

So, Pollux. The first signs start to show with her when she was first introduced. She's hyper, she's unfocused, she's friendly, she's all over the place. These are very stereotypical, very basic signs of ADHD. HOWEVER, I actually DON'T think she has ADHD. I think she's just hyper sometimes. ADHD is much more that just being a little off the walls, it's a genuine disability that makes it difficult to focus or remember things, and I feel like if you dig deeper, that's not what's going on with her.

I do think that she's neurodivergent, however, in some capacity. Probably autism. I think her and Castor both have autism actually, but I'll get in to him later.

First of all, hyperactivity can also be a sign of autism. And while, when she first comes to Earth it seems as though she can't focus on any specific thing, I think that's because she's focused on Earth as a whole, explaining her interest in anything on Earth. I think learning about and exploring Earth might be one of her special interests, or maybe just exploring planets in general.

Now, the next point might just be due to technical issues, but maybe not. Pollux and Castor both have pretty blank faces, and don't have very many emotes. It may have just been a problem with their 3d modelling, so not the strongest point, but neurodivergent people and people on the spectrum often have difficulty with facial expressions, something I've also struggled with.

Pollux definitely has less neurodivergent coding than Castor does, but I think it's still there.

Castor:

Castor. I don't even know where to start with him.

When Castor was first introduced, he was very unexpressive and monotone, already a symptom of neurodivergency.

He also struggles socially, more so than Pollux. While Pollux was over-bearing, she had no trouble making friends once the chance arose. Castor, on the other hand, was perceived by most of the main cast as "creepy" or "rude", which hits closer to home than I want to admit.

But, over time, it becomes clearer and clearer that he only wants what's best. He doesn't intend to be terse, or rude, or weird, he's just never interacted with anyone that wasn't a star before.

Pollux seemed to adjust well to the environment on Earth once she learned more about the people there, but it seems Castor struggled a lot more with adapting in a new environment.

Castor is also a very private person. He has hobbies and emotions and thoughts, but he keeps them all to himself. Of course, after a while of spending time with Lunar, he starts to speak his mind more, which eventually led up to the last episode we saw him in where he yelled at Lunar for killing Eclipse. Still, I find it interesting that it took an extreme situation like that for him to finally speak his mind.

Gemini:

Gemini <3

Pollux and Castor work extraordinarily well together. They are THE siblings of all time, I love them.

I'm going to delve into headcanons for a minute here, but I feel like the other astrals don't like them very much. We never hear Gemini really talk about the other astrals, aside from basic details.

I feel like, after living with people for your entire life, your SIBLINGS, and those being the ONLY people you interacted with, you'd have some fond memories of them.

But they don't. And even now, there's tension between Gemini and the rest of the astrals. They clearly stand out. The other astrals seem to not take them seriously, and don't exactly listen to them. I feel like, from that recent scene from Taurus, maybe the other astrals, at least some of them, actively DISLIKE Gemini.

This may be why they're so unused to socially interacting on Earth. They probably spent very little time with their siblings, especially considering Nebula's existence. Maybe their siblings didn't visit them at all. That thought makes me sad.

Feeling outcasted is commonplace for neurodivergent people, as well as being perceived wrong.

Closing thoughts: Okay, I might be projecting here. I'm not sure. As someone who is neurodivergent, I identify with Gemini harder than any other fictional character. They're so special. I don't know if I'm picking up on subtext that isn't there, but if you have any thoughts, please share. I wanna know what you guys think.

Author's note: I know it's a bit unexpected post, but I went through something terrible when I got back from work after the night shift today. My beloved dog died for unknown reasons. I wanted to vent my frustration and sadness into something, and it happened to be writing more headcanons. I hope that if someone else is going through such a loss right now, they'll find comfort in this post. And don't worry, the other requests are ready and I will make them public soon.

this is an excellent question!! however, i struggle with thinking of ANY hcs usually. this is hard for me. top five especially but i'm trying !! here is a list, probably not my all time 5 favorites but these are hcs on my brain rn. i don't rllyyy know my favorites.

- i love clingy jegulus. i love when they are so touchy and clingy to each other, love language as physical touch. at all times they want to be climbing each other like a tree. especially regulus who holds onto james' sleeve like it's an extension of himself. i love jegulus going out and not being more than a foot from each other, always keeping hands on. james always keeps a hand on regulus' thigh when they're sitting, even if he's talking with somebody else, rubbing circles over his skin to remind him he's still his priority. i love jegulus that, after they fight, reg storms off for approximately one minute until he's tearing up, needs to be closer to james again. they don't talk about their argument for a while, but he goes back to james and they hold each other and james whispers reassurances to him and they don't address the problem but they relax into each other, cheek-to-chest. they need physical affection at all times.

- they are stupidly affectionate and love doing SILLY adorable couple-y things. james tries to pick regulus up, princess style at any opportunity. he loves opening every single door for him and being the most perfect gentleman. and regulus tries to do just as much for james, just as affectionate. they share food and actually fully feed each other, sipping from the same straw and pausing between bites to kiss. they're so disgusting, everyone around them is gagging over how grossly in love they are.

- they love being home together. they will have nights where they get into comfy pjs and put on TRASHY reality tv, have a few too many glasses of wine between the two of them, messily paint each other's nails and eat too much food. they will put their phones away and giggle so much, be sooo touchy with each other. they'll braid each other's hair and regulus will do their makeup just for fun. they just love being home and it's common for them, nights spent in with each other. sometimes they'll do drunk karaoke, serenade each other and dance sloppily to love songs, so cheesy and so in love. by the end of the night they're drunk and sloppily making out, not sober enough to do more but they enjoy giggling with each other between deep kisses and groping each other on the couch.

- my actual fav headcanon is also t4t jegulus <3 <3 <3 <3

- my fav trope/hc is them being the ONLY one who knows how to help the other through breakdowns/meltdowns. they only ever feel safe crying and having breakdowns in front of each other, they've been taught to hide those vulnerable parts of themselves but they understand. i love regulus combing his fingers through james' hair, soothing him. i love james whispering assurances to regulus and wiping away his tears, changing him into comfy clothes and cuddling. love them breaking down together. hurry/comfort my fav <3

- in MY WORLD james chooses regulus over sirius. in my world regulus is james' first choice. because fuck it, regulus deserves to be SOMEONE'S first choice. let regulus be fucking chosen for once. let him be the first choice. please i beg. anyway yeah this is definitely one of my favorites because james needs to be sooooo far gone for regulus. james needs to be fully and wholly devoted. james want to please regulus in everything he does. james will and does choose regulus over anyone and anything.

This is my full analysis of Butters and misogyny, because I just felt the need to have it out there...

Whether you headcanon Butters as queer or not, there's no denying that he is very misogynistic. Some people stop there, then just label him as a bad person, but I'd like to talk about the why.

Before we get into things, we have to remember that he is 9 years old. Some things that Butters (and the other boys) engage in may not be misogyny, but the simple petty rivalry that commonly emerges at that age between boys and girls. I do say some, because there are definitely some things Butters has said or done that can't be passed off under that label.

The first thing we need to think about is Butters home life. Even in a toxic household, kids have a deep attachment to their parents. Often times this is because the parental figure will act perfectly fine at some points, while off the hook at others. If the kid ever starts to question how they're being treated, they feel guilty because they feel like they're being ungrateful to the nice guy who takes them out for ice cream and goes on bike rides with them.

Butters has respect for his parents, even if it's not deserved. Growing up in a strict religious (christian) household myself, I can say that there are some pretty rancid ideals that you are taught from a young age under the excuse of "gods will." Religion almost becomes a scapegoat for any controversial opinion your parents have that they don't have justification for. Butters was fed this stuff all his life. I can tell you that I personally didn't learn the absurdity of these ideals until I was nearing the end of 6th grade. Butters is right at the age where every question he asks his parents is new information that must be shared with the world. Because why would his parents be wrong?

So now that we've established this kid is pretty fucked up from the get-go, let's talk about femininity. Not only is Butters most likely parroting every misogynistic thing he hears from his parent because he assumes them to be fact, but he also has the issue of subconscious negative association. His dad stamps out/ridicules any feminine thing Butters does because of his own fragile ego. This is where I see the similarities with my Brother and Father's relationship.

When we were younger, my dad would yell at him and put a stop to anything remotely feminine. That led to him having an automatic association between feminine things, and getting in trouble. As he got older, he rebelled more and was more aware of how ridiculous my dad was being. However, he still had it in the back of his mind that feminine = bad. I see the same dynamic in Butters and his parents.

So yeah, he's really fucked up. How's he going to deal with it? Well, I can tell you right now that at 9 years old it sure as hell isn't going to be healthy. Like my brother, he's got this shit bottled up. He's going to have outbursts where he acts irrational and, well, offensive. In episodes where you see Butters behaving more aggressively than usual, or having angry outbursts, he may be angry about something else, but he's inadvertently releasing pressure from that bottle of everything he's internalized. My brother went through the same thing. He feels really fucking guilty when he looks back on it.

So yeah, these are some of the thoughts I have on his character regarding internalized misogyny.

DFF Finale and overall series thoughts

I had to sit and process the ending of the show for a while, to really sit with my thoughts and process and decide where I landed. And here's where I'm at:

I didn't mind the ending, but I very much do mind all the dropped plot threads on the way.

The ending felt like a waste of a really thoughtfully put together series. It felt like throwing all the interesting characterization and nuances of the plot away in favor of having a shock "horror" ending. The ending itself wasn't bad - I personally don't mind a more ambiguous ending. And particularly in a show that was so divisive and controversial, leaving people room to their own interpretations was probably the best possible resolution.

What I mind are the threads that were dropped. I mind the jacked pacing of the final three episodes. I mind the missing characterization of Jin. I mind Non's death scene not getting the weight it needed. I mind Keng's death basically happening off screen.

I mind that they gave Tee a ton of nuance only to give him the most brutal ending, when it would've been so much more meaningful for him to die saving White's life. Saving one innocent boy where he couldn't save the other. That would've been a heartbreaking redemption for the darkest character in the show, who was shown to do all of this even though he didn't want to.

I mind that they had Phee kill New when it would've been more meaningful for Phee and Jin to get New out of there and get him psychological help. The thing they couldn't do for Non - helping him to recover from his trauma and maybe, someday, move forward.

I mind that they gave us such an ambiguous ending when something concrete would've been so much better! Like from a horror perspective I don't mind the ambiguity, but from a storytelling perspective I find myself really dissatisfied. I would've liked to see:

Tee dying to save White

Phee and Jin getting New psychological help

Jin admitting that Keng groomed him as well (which is a headcanon but is a way better explanation for Jin's hallucinations. Though I don't entirely mind that his hallucination were a manifestation of his guilt)

The survivors having to face actual justice. Fluke living but being put in jail for his part of things. Jin facing consequences for his part in Non's undoing. New facing consequences for the people he killed.

I know, I know. That's not a horror ending. But it would've been way more satisfying AND a better resolution than what we got.

Random OM! Realm Headcannons

This is a list of different headcanons I have on each realm, separated by All, Celestial, Devildom, and Human realm.

I will add to this list as I come up with more, but this is what is currently what's spinning through my head.

Gender & Sexuality-

The Celestial realm has specific rules on gender expression and identity. An angel is not obligated to dress in a masculine, feminine, or an androgynous way, but they are expected to keep the name, pronouns, and body their Father gave them.

The act of wanting to change their body, name, or pronouns is seen as an insult to their Father and therefore a punishable offense.

Angels are also raised to believe romantic love and any form of attraction is sinful. It is believed that these two feelings can cause angels to stray from the path given to them by placing someone before them as more dear than their siblings or worse, their Father.

Both romantic love and sex are seen as a major offense punishable by death.

This is one reason that modern angels do not reproduce like the other races; there are no parents or pregnant angels in the Celestial realm; there is only their Father and he makes new angels when needed and keeps a tight hold on the population.

Culture-

Angels follow a strict doctrine and live in accordance to the values they are born with.

Just like demons are born inclined towards various sins and vices, so are angels with virtues; no angel is born without a virtue to embody.

Angels are expected to follow their virtue strictly or are given 'mercy' by being thrown into the Spring of Life, the body of water Father uses to make His children; basically he recycles them to protect Himself from the risk of that angel dropping their virtue and adopting a sin.

Devildom/Abyssal:

Gender and Sexuality-

Gender has always been seen as more or less fluid for the demons. What's between your legs is only treated as a suggestion and used to give their children more or less a template gender.

No demon is officially seen with a solid gender till they are adults, giving the younger demons time to explore their identities and figure out how they feel about their bodies.

Modifying one's body is not only allowed, but encouraged after a certain age. Demons have a plethora of potions to help with this and teenaged demons are often found changing their bodies' forms with these.

However, this is mostly done by the average demon and such changes are rarer for demons of the higher class, whose parents feel the need to have stricter control over their children for the sake of organizing power, arranged marriages, and heir planning.

Sexuality is also very diverse in the Devildom and is seen as something that can keep changing throughout a demon's life.

Most demons have a pretty pansexual mindset, meaning they just expect everyone to have the potential to be attracted to all forms of demons.

It is still common and accepted to have demons who are heterosexual or homosexual; demon's simply don't assume the person next to them is only interested in one gender.

"Human Realm":

Origin facts-

Though it now refered to as such, it is only because the original name has become controversial.

This realm used to only be refered to as the Cradle, since it was created solely to house and protect the Devil and Father's children.

This term is now deemed controversial because it is seen as demeaning to the humans, who have always been treated as children caught in the worse divorce in existence.

Because of this, the bland but true description of 'Human realm' is the polite term for this world

The concept that elves cannot survive sexual assault comes from Laws and Customs of the Eldar, an essay style section of Morgoth's Ring, in the Histories of Middle Earth. In LaCE, as it's often known, Ælfwine, or Elfwine, a pre canon character in The legendarium is credited with the editing of this text as well as other parts of the histories of Middle Earth adding another aspect of meta to it.  

LaCE is a controversial essay. Many consider it to be precanon or non canon. Others consider it an in universe philosophical or religious work rather than biological facts or universal standards for the elves. I think this interpretation is probably accurate

The relevant part you're talking about is a footnote in response to this line of LaCE Even when  in after days as the history is reveal many of the Eldar in Middle Earth became corrupted and their hearts darkened by the Shadow that lies upon Arda seldom is any tale told of Deeds of lust among them.

The footnote reads ...But among all those evils there is no record of any among the elves that took another spouse by force for this was wholly against their nature and one so forth would have rejected bodily life and passed to Mandos. Guile or trickery in this matter was scarcely possible even if it could be thought that any elf would purpose to use for it; for the Eldar can read in the eyes of another whether they be wed or unwed 

I agree with you that it's probably not the case that sexual violence instantly leads to death.

I think it's fun to play around with whether or not LaCE is a, canon or b, strict biological law! Generally I go with it not being so but there is a lot of fascinating ideas that can be explored, if often horrifying ones, treating it like that! (the idea that elves can tell in the eyes of another if they're married or not is FASCINATING even if the idea that such a phenomena would prevent sexual violence is...troublesome...)

On the basis of LaCE not being biological law though, there are a few possibilities for this inclusion (note: these are in universe possibilities, not a complete list of reasons why Tolkien might have included it)

a, an in universe narrator trying to mitigate or cover up the fact that this did indeed occur

b, as in most versions he appears in, Ælfwine is not an elf but a human, this could simply be an idealistic notion or misconception or even misunderstanding or mistranslation

c, sexual violence is a taboo subject in many human cultures, it's certainly not implausible that it was treated similarly the elves. Even if it's not an attempt to cover up actions by well known figures in the history of the Eldar, it could be a denial of cultural traumas or a refusal to reckon with a certain kind of pain

The fact that it specifically reads 'no record of any taking the spouse of another by force' is somewhat strange. Obviously, non married people can be the victims of assault (and people can be victimized by those they're married to; it's worth noting here that Tolkien did seem to realize both, some of the primary, and only, instances of rape in the legendarium are instances of marital rape)

A...generous reading is that it is worded like this because the footnote appears in relevance to the section about marriage and this is meant to discuss specifically how certain trauma affects the marital bond, something that LaCE defines as a spiritual and physical matter.

(Plenty of horror you could potentially explore there; spouses actually feeling the pain and trauma of their partners due to this bond, whether trauma from this kind of violence or other)

What I do think is true is that elves have a stronger connection between body and mind and soul and that severe trauma of any kind can lead to physical consequences up to, including and beyond death of the body. This is of course not unheard of in humans, stress takes a physical toll. But for elves I think this connection is perhaps more profound.

This is not limited to sexual assault and indeed most of the instances we see of this in canon are not related to sexual assault.

It's worth noting that there are some troublesome aspects of Tolkien's wording. Obviously the linking of sexual assault and lust is not entirely accurate. Desire and lust often do not play a role in sexual violence; power and control perhaps being more pertinent. Then of course the fact that it says 'no record of one taking the spouse of another by force' is also questionable as I talked about above.

In conclusion, I think like the rest of LaCE, it makes more sense as the philosophy of one group or individual rather than biological reality.

Finally, I'll note that the two primary examples I can think of in the works of victims of sexual violence who "choose" death or at least leaving body or life in some form or another are not elves but are Aerin, a human, and Arien, a Maia (Arien's example also not being strictly canon), both of whom choose fire. (also I think that whether or not Aerin died is actually ambiguous and is certainly not definite, that being said the idea that she did is a perfectly plausible reading) Also why are their names so similar...
