Canada's NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh asks the reporter, "why is this even a question?" about getting clean drinking water to First Nations reserves in Canada. He is right, if it were the suburbs somewhere, it would not be a question.

Hey, so I've just been posting about this Ontario Coalition Against Ford for a few days now and it's because it's very important. The third wave in Ontario is very bad. Hospitals are overwhelmed, they're triaging in parking lots. Someone dies of Covid every hour-and-a-half. But non-essential workplaces are staying open and just yesterday the Conservative government voted down a bill for paid sick days.
Something drastic has to be done to force the Ford government to put human lives before business. Actions like strikes and mass work refusals can threaten profits and force Doug Ford to do something. That's why OCAF is calling on the ONDP and labour leaders to organize mass work refusals.
It starts with the open letter I posted already, but that's just the start. If you are angry at the Ford government come to the meeting on Zoom tonight (Tuesday April 27, 8:30) to take part in the movement.

Canada is the only G7 country that has seen our GHG emissions increase since the Paris Agreement was signed. These are just the facts. We cannot afford to wait for the Liberals to get it right and we cannot trust the conservatives to do it. Vote NDP for our planet. @allthecanadianpolitics

Sign the NDP's petition to demand that Trudeau stop taking Indigenous kids to court
"The news that the bodies of 215 children were found buried at the Kamloops Residential School is horrifying. But it is not the only example of the genocide of Indigenous people that is a dark stain on our nation.
A government committed to true reconciliation with Indigenous people doesn't take kids to court.鈥疛ustin Trudeau must be accountable for his actions today that continue to harm Indigenous children, residential school survivors and Indigenous peoples.
It is simple.
Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government cannot claim to honour the spirits of children who died in residential schools when they continue to take Indigenous kids to court.
Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government cannot claim to take their role in reconciliation seriously when they force survivors of residential schools to wage legal battles for recognition and compensation.
Here are the facts.
After years of underfunding schools and ignoring the needs and safety of Indigenous youth and kids in care, Justin Trudeau continues to hide behind his empty promises to Indigenous kids 鈥 while denying them their rights in court.
Canadian courts have ruled that Justin Trudeau 鈥渨illfully and recklessly鈥 discriminated against Indigenous kids.
And appeal after appeal by the Liberals is forcing Indigenous kids, their families, and entire communities to fight a costly and heartbreaking legal battle.
While Justin Trudeau keeps trying to fight the ruling, Indigenous kids continue to face huge gaps in funding to their education, school and homes infested with dangerous mould, and unsafe drinking water for many communities across the country. Enough is enough.
It鈥檚 time for Canada to support Indigenous communities with respect and real action. And that means having leaders who don鈥檛 just say the right things but actually do them.
Join Jagmeet Singh and New Democrats in calling on Justin Trudeau to end all legal actions against Indigenous kids and residential school survivors.
We have an opportunity to support the Indigenous leaders of tomorrow and build respectful, lasting reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. Add your name today."

Okay!! It鈥檚 time to stop fucking around!!
Today is Election Day! So go. Fucking. Vote. I actually don鈥檛 have any patience for people who are eligible to vote and don鈥檛.
There is only one party that actually cares about peope, who have a comprehensive plan for climate action, who is actually ready to give Indigenous communities clean water, who want to decrease wealth inequality. We know who it is. Hello NDP.
So this is your not so friendly reminder: Canada is not a two-party system.
This is very important to understand. The Americanization of social media has messed with a lot of Canadians鈥 understanding of our own political system. While in the US, voting outside the two parties is a useless vote, that鈥檚 not how it works in Canada. No party is projected to win a majority, any majority government (conservative or liberal) is pretty much out of the question, which means even if a party loses, it still has some influence in parliament. The closer to winning, the better. Even if the conservatives win a minority, the NDP has a chance to pressure the liberals to work against the conservatives WITH them.
Voting NDP is not a wasted vote.
Now I understand that this is more realistic for some risings than in others, I myself live in a riding that has been a safe conservative riding since well, forever. We have never voted anything but conservative, and we never will, however, if you live in a riding where it鈥檚 possible to swing NDP go out and vote.
Remember that election reform is important, even if your riding won鈥檛 swing NDP, casting your vote is still important, the bigger the difference between votes and seats, the clearer the issue is, and the higher the pressure on government to make a change to our voting system.
Young people have the power to make a real change in our government, so let鈥檚 use it.

Are you angry with Ford's horrific response to the pandemic? Are you frustrated that our union/party leaders won't take more serious measures to win paid sick days, hazard pay and the closure of non-essential production? Are you a leading member of your EDA, union or community group?
OCAF (Ontario Coalition Against Ford) is a coalition of riding associations, labour activists and community groups that are organizing to take on Ford and push our leaders to act in the interests of regular working class people. The time to organize is now!
