Malawi, Vanuatu, Uganda, Demokratische Republik Kongo, Togo, Saudi-Arabien, Äquatorialguinea und Ruanda: Diesen acht Ländern ist es 2022 gelungen, jeweils eine oder mehrere vernachlässigte Tropenkrankheiten (englisch: neglected tropical diseases, NTDs) auszurotten. Damit hat sich die Zahl der Länder, denen dies seit Ende der 1990er Jahre gelungen ist, auf fast 50 erhöht. Elf Länder haben dabei mehr als eine Krankheit ausgerottet. NTDs sind eine Gruppe von etwa 20 Krankheiten, die weltweit mehr als eine Milliarde Menschen betreffen. Sie werden aber von der globalen Gesundheitsagenda weitgehend übersehen. Die Krankheiten betreffen in der Regel Menschen, die in verarmten Gegenden leben. Bakterien, Viren, Pilze, Parasiten oder Toxine sind Auslöser dieser Tropenkrankheiten. 2022 hat die Demokratische Republik Kongo die durch den Guineawurm (Medinawurm) hervorgerufene Krankheit ausgerottet. Eine Augenentzündung, die zur Erblindung führt – das so genannte Trachom –, tritt nicht mehr in Togo, Malawi, Saudi-Arabien und Vanuatu auf. Uganda und Äquatorialguinea sowie Ruanda hingegen haben unterschiedliche Formen der Afrikanischen Schlafkrankheit, die durch den Parasiten Trypanosoma brucei verursacht wird, eliminiert. hi there we wanted to ask something because maybe you know? by chance?

yesterday we were diagnosed with CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) after struggling with being tired since forever, the doctor told us we could try doing some changes to our diet, exercising more and having magnesium once per day

we asked if there was anything else we could do because it is really harsh and we can barely do stuff but he said there wasnt anything else nor any doctors that could help

is there nothing else to do? sorry for the long ask

I hate giving bad news, and I'm afraid that that's mostly what this is going to be.

There is, as of yet, no real cure for chronic fatigue syndrome. What can be done is symptom management: energy management, accessibility devices to reduce the energy cost of regular tasks, pain medication, and sleep medication.

It's currently understood that CFS is linked to a hypometabolic state, which means that the body is not generating enough energy for its cells to function normally. You're tired because you literally don't have enough energy being generated to function. And we don't know why, just yet.

The good news is, that if we can figure out what the specific cause is, there may well be a treatment or cure in the future. People are working on it. It's just that we don't have one right now.

I'm sorry I couldn't offer more, because it freaking sucks.

Today circumstance intervened, and I was forced to arise at a slightly more reasonable hour because I'd extended my stay at my hotel (no Singapore flings or train rides to nowhere for me in the end), but with a separate online booking for a different room, and thus had to check out, leave my bag, and check back in later. I wish I had known earlier that the morning concierge was quite cute, would have made it easier to get out of bed before noon!

Having an issue with the nervous system that misidentifies certain sexual phenotypes at a peripheral/somatic level does not remotely mean brain sex is real. And fwiw, when people say "brain sex," they are referring primarily to the idea that men and women are hardwired to think and approach the world in radically different ways. It's heavily interwoven with bioessentialism - the idea that female people are naturally feminine (nurturing, gentle, empathetic, soft, superficial, frail, submissive, etc) and male people are naturally masculine (dominant, decisive, aggressive, stoic, athletic, etc). What exactly does that have to do with what I've described in all my posts about sex dysphoria?

And you know the brain isn't like... the only part of the nervous system, right? As someone who actually has a neurological illness that has nothing to do with the brain whatsoever, it drives me absolutely bonkers that most people are only capable of thinking of the brain when they consider the nervous system. Today’s review: HGUC Gundam Narrative C Packs!

This Gundam is not a design from Katoki’s art book I ever thought I’d see on screen. Mostly due to the fact it was never designed for combat. Originally a prototype of the Nu Gundam that was meant for testing equipment, the Narrative Gundam lay in mothballs until it was retrofitted for battle to capture the Gundam Phenex. Now we see the mobile suit in its final form, with psycho frame hastily installed across the body in an attempt to increase its reaction times.

As this is a prototype test machine, there are various places where armour is at a minimum or just non existent. Some of these areas have now been fleshed out with psycho frame which gives the mobile suit a more impressive silhouette. The colour and parts separation makes the build very fun, but I will admit some lesser than clear parts to the instructions made me second guess a few fittings and was a bit annoying.

The articulation of the kit is a real shining point for the NT Gundam. On top of the usual it also has flexing shoulder mounts that bring the arms forward across the torso and rotating forearms separate to the upper biceps, meaning the shield is not restricted to being fitted behind the arm.

Accessories are minimal as the main draw was the psycho frame. You have the shield, 2 beam sabers and a beam rifle cobbled together from old Jegan parts. The beam sabers, unlike the conventional pink blades, are fitted with two red ones that have no flex to them as they were molded together with the psycho frame sprue rather than coming separate.

I give the Narrative Gundam 8/10 - for the diehard fans its a must buy, but worthwhile still for those on the fence.
