“if it isn't prosecutor sahdmadhi���”

nahyuta hated the way you said his name. and it didn't help that you refused to address him by anything but his last name.

“ah, you're that defense attorney…”

nahyuta forced a fake smile on his lips as he turned around to face you. the two of you had met a few times before, but always just in court. this was the first time you two talked outside of the courtroom. and yet, you couldn't leave your little rivalry behind.

“i have a name, you know?”

for just a second, the hint of a real smile showed on nahyuta's face. judging by the tone of your voice, you were offended that he forgot your name. though there was no way he could ever forget anything about you.

“apologies, it must've slipped my mind…”

you gritted your teeth at his words. nahyuta seemingly knew how to rile you up, inside and outside of the courtroom.

“perhaps that's why you keep losing all your cases. with a memory like that, it's no wonder…”

nahyuta almost choked on air when he heard your words. while he was startled for a moment, he quickly was ready to add more oil to the fire.

“as if you'd know anything about winning yourself. as far as i recall, you were needing the assistance of your colleagues during those cases!”

the two of you had dropped the nice act by now, leaning closer with each sentence, while glaring at each other.

“at least i have people by my side! what about you, mr. sahdmadhi? where are all your friends?”

“i am well liked back in khura'in, you know? it's just you who can't appreciate me being around!”

“well, why don't you just go back to khura'in then? i'm sure that–”

“oh, just shut up and kiss me–!”

before you could let his words sink in, nahyuta had grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and pressed his lips against yours. you blinked surprised, before closing your eyes and simply letting it happen. somehow, this felt… rather nice.

“n-nahyuta…”

when he pulled away again, your cheeks had taken on a pinkish tone. nahyuta seemed much more composed and rather satisfied that you finally used his first name.

“you were talking too much”

a soft chuckle escaped your lips.

“yeah, i tend to do that”

“then i'll just have to shut you up again”

“oh, please do!”

Nahyuta is so stupid to me. Like. He brings beads with him to court and regularly assaults people with them. He constantly says he's going to send people to fifty-bajillion versions of Hell and no one can argue with him for risk of invalidating his religion. He was made with no intention of gender until the developers panicked and gave him one. He's always having a breakdown in some way. He's initially a jerk, but then you find out he was LITERALLY A REBEL ON THE RUN FROM THE LAW WITH HIS FATHER. I love him.

arranged marriage | ace attorney | blackmadhi-ish

Nahyuta didn’t have the slightest clue about who he was getting married to, but he knew that he’d despise them. The very concept of arranged marriage disgusted him. He was being treated like prize livestock, bought and sold and bred only for profit.

He spent the next week leading up to the first meeting with his soon-to-be-husband moping, for lack of a better word. Apollo and Rayfa tried to cheer him up in their own ways, but their combined volume only served to isolate him further as he ran to his room to escape the sheer amount of noise.

But the day came, and took all hope of any civil union away.

Nahyuta had spent three hours getting ready, letting himself be draped in all the customary robes and jewelry, and endured the prickling sensation of the makeup brushes only for his groom to open his mouth and let his impudent words almost drive Nahyuta to violence.

The boy dared to open his mouth, turn to his mother, and loudly complain, “Why do I get such a sad monk for a husband? This isn’t fair!”

Fair? The boy wanted fair? Oh, Nahyuta would show him fair, if the Goddess ever permitted it! He wanted to scream.

But instead he pulled himself together with the practiced, if not reluctant, grace of someone who is about to slap a bitch but is not allowed to. So he graciously replied in kind, “Mother, it seems we have a panda in attendance instead of my groom. Please, would you escort this animal out?

At that, his fiance growled and attempted to launch his bird right at Nahyuta, no doubt to try and teach him a lesson, but Nahyuta was faster, and pushed the thing out of the way and to the side, all while smiling sweetly.

“Oh, what was that? It seems a bug has flown into my field of vision.”

“Oh, his name is Taka, you little- !”

And at that very moment, Nahyuta Sahdmadhi pledged to himself that if ever they were married without one of them murdering the other, he would hate Simon Blackquill for the rest of his pitiful days.
