Listening to Joshua Seth swooning over voicing Tai once more just made me realize once again: Taichi Yagami is a very special character, who has a great impact on the people who play him.
Joshua Seth (English dub, OG), who calls this role his "life's work".
Natsuki Hanae (Japanese dub, Tri/Kizuna), who was so anxious about getting the role right, doing it justice.
Gaku Matsumoto (Japanese stageplay), who went on about how much Digimon means to people.
Toshiko Fujita (Japanese dub, Adventure+02), who still kept on voicing him until the end, even if her voice got weaker.
Florian Knorn (German dub, OG), who flew back from Austria and came back from retirement to voice him.
Zeno Robinson (English dub, reboot), who audibly put his entire heart into this role...
This boy is special.

The question and darkness embedded in Mikoto's (CV: Natsuki Hanae) first trial song "MeMe". ――『MILGRAM -ミルグラム-』 Music Interview|’MeMe’
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
DECO*27, a leading creator among Vocaloid artists, and Takuya Yamanaka, known for his style of exploring human psychology, have launched a collaborative music video project called "MILGRAM - ミルグラム -". The project features a joint original story and production, and the music video - which is crucial to uncovering the prisoners' crimes - has now been released.
At Animate Times, we are currently conducting email interviews with the voice actors participating in the project! In the second half of the 8th interview, we have Natsuki Hanae, the voice actor of Mikoto. This time, we asked about the first trial song "MeMe," which has finally been released, and uncovered hints about the Mikoto hidden in the lyrics and the points to be conscious of when singing.
MEANINGFUL TITLE
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
――The first trial song "MeMe" has finally been released. Can you tell us your first impression of the song title?
Mikoto’s Actor: Natsuki Hanae (Hanae hereafter): It's a meaningful title, isn't it? The lyrics are also impressive, as if they're asking oneself questions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
―― Could you share any specific lyrics from the song that resonated with you given that the song carries a powerful message? Were there any particular lines that stood out or left a strong impression on you?
Hanae: DECO*27 and I have worked together before, so I was really excited to work with him again this time. I feel honored to have been able to sing such a wonderful song.
THE DARKNESS FELT FROM MIKOTO IN "MeMe"
════ ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ •✦• ✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧ ════
―― Do you have any specific points or aspects that you focused on or paid particular attention to when singing?
Hanae: Since there's a contrast between beautiful and intense parts, I tried to bring out that gap in my performance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
――When you first saw the lyrics or after finishing singing, did your impression of the character Mikoto change? Hanae: The darkness that he has may be deeper than I thought…
youtube
――Despite the fact that the outcome of MILGRAM -ミルグラム- is influenced by viewer votes, can you share your enthusiasm for the next song?
Hanae: It all depends on the user vote to determine how Mikoto will change and what kind of outcome he will face. I'm also looking forward to what kind of song will be chosen next.
――Thank you very much.

thanks to @seventeenlovesthree ive gain more of an understanding into dynamics in the og digimon cast that i really appreciate.
however, i am on an ensemble stars deep dive so its also really interesting. especially concerning natsuki hanae’s voice acting in it.
for taichi, he usually uses a deeper part of his regular speaking voice. singing voice is similar, in retrospect. it starts on A3.
for hiyori, he definitely puts on airs. like, once your familiar of what changes. it puts things in perspective. its slightly nasalier. the deepest note he sings is in Faith Conquest, which is F3. this song is also known for its high note which is E5.
lyric wise though, their character songs are interesting. in the case that I believe that it could be swapped and it would fit. hiyori literally means weather and he uses it as a pun.
fantastic days would follow the pattern from the previous character songs.
for their friendships, the long lasting relationships happened when they were younger. both around the age of 11. taichi with the 99 digidestined and hiyori with nagisa.
theyre both characters that are symbolized by the sun. and that turns complicated as they get older.
in the most important situations, as of tri-onwards taichi is known to overthink and hesitate to act. in saga, hiyori overthinks and in turn doesnt warn jun about whats going to happen in the event.
yknow i would have a lot more data but tri and kizuna are trauma piles. and i would have to make the full on character analysis posts on my other account to make a difference and include more.

Hanae Natsuki is in so many singing projects!! the original post was about his latest song for Milgram, he has two songs there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwpNaqTd54k and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT_YCsUHUEg
Personally i also listen to his songs for Tsukipro, he's in a band, SolidS, with Eguchi Takuya (Vane), Saito Soma (Feather) and Umehara Yuichiro (not in gbf but he plays Leona in twisted wonderland)! example of a banger duet with EguTaku: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2ixmmK0fzc this one is my fav SolidS song and Hanae is amazing in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Fq3-YRqu40 this one rocks too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVC3UdFf0d4 anyway i love SolidS very much so i have much to recommand but that's a good start.
And i know Hanae is also in Paradox Live, which i've never really dived in, but, yaknow. if you want more Hanae you'll find it there.
He's so fucking good. the more u know ;D
Oh my God, thank you Icha, seems like I got homework to do!
I met Natsuki Hanae with Tokyo Ghoul 🥺 then several other anime and movies and in videogames in Granblue, Nier and Punishing Gray Raven neither of them in any musical sense so I was oblivious of this side of him

STARMYU EP 1
Tumblr media
ok wow i loved it. LIKE WOW the opening gave idolish 7 vibes, but then the school reminds me of yumenosaki and the kao council is like Ouran boys i love every bit of it. i was curious tho like WHY DID THEY SING SUDDENLY???? I WAS SO SURPRISED and im so happy for their team i feel like they're the underachiever team which reminds me weirdly of enstars with alkaloid but nonetheless, setting the weird comparisons aside the first episode was rlly cute and kinda light for me so im very excited abt it moving forward. AND NATSUKI HANAE IS THERE SO WOWW

Vanitas’ voice actor, Natsuki Hanae, is the biggest simp for Jeanne
youtube
I think in episode 4 there’s that scene where Jeanne sucks Vanitas’ blood, right? You know that part like~ she was really trying to supress the urge to suck blood. That Jeanne... That was just a 100/100~ It was masterfully... cute. But it was also sexy~ — Natsuki Hanae

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999
Tumblr media
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2023
My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 (2023, Japan)
Director: Morio Asaka
Writer: Yasuhiro Nakanishi (based on the manga by Mashiro)
Mini-review:
This was cute! It was certainly predictable, but all the characters are likable and the show was clearly made by pros. In fact, it didn't surprise me at all when I realized Morio Asaka and Madhouse were behind this. They have made some of the best animes of all time and they clearly know how to make the most of their skills even for a relatively simple story. Anyway, I really liked the way the characters develop. I know some people might be uncomfortable with the age gap, but the show handles it gracefully and I wasn't bothered by it at all. I also loved how they incorporated games and gaming into the plot. I think I hadn't seen that in a romcom before, so it felt quite refreshing and helped make up for the predictability of the whole thing. That being said, the ending felt somewhat anticlimactic and sudden. It did make me look forward to future episodes, though, so maybe that was the goal. To sum up, I'd recommend this if you're looking for a solid, feel-good anime romcom.
