The two of them are currently in a long distance relationship, yet feelings stays strong and true. Khu is determined that his love for her will indeed last for much longer than forever.

Cid is, quite possibly, worse than even Alphinaud about money. He was a privileged son of the elite, most things handed to him. He had no comprehension of Nero’s struggles due to sheer inexperience and youthful ignorance. Even as an adult it didn’t occur to him to reflect on his boyhood friend and his plight (or why he was so embittered, or even that he was).

This became a problem when he went into business in Eorzea, and Jessie, on arriving with more of their colleagues escaping the Empire, realized to her dismay that the famous Cid Garlond had no clue whatsoever how to run a business. Garlond Ironworks was in danger of utterly failing, no one was getting paid, and their resources and workshop were...not the best. There was real danger of being overtaken by someone from the Syndicate who would have loved to have Garlond in their personal pocket.

Jessie walked up to Cid and told him she was now taking over the finances. That she would handle the business. And she has not only done so--keeping the company afloat the five years he was missing, and those being their most profitable years no less--but she has done her level best to teach the man the basics about money.

No Cid, a banana does not cost 100 gil. Also this is a ledger and how you balance your checkbook and expenditures. Haggle at the market, for goodness’ sake! Stop being a bad influence on Biggs and Wedge.

She tries. She tries so hard. Tataru commiserates, having to deal with a bunch of adventuring academics who never think to ask where their research funds come from or how much auracite costs, Urianger for Twelves’ sake it doesn’t just grow on trees! And of course, Alphinaud’s sword misadventure...

Anyway. They have lunch every so often and swap stories of their harebrained colleagues, tips and tricks, and deals they’ve heard about to find bargains, pinch pennies, and otherwise make bank despite their adventurous companions.

Her initial response is quite likely not different to how many would take it, by being in disbelief. Was this really happening? Did that just happen for real? Of course it takes only a few moments before that gives way to other emotions. She would honestly be pained, heartbroken at such a thing. It would naturally tarnish that person or those people in her mind and make it hard to ever think of them from that point on. It would eat at her in moments of loneliness. For a time, it would make her worry about new connections. That ability to trust someone enough to let them in close. 

She’d be scared it could so easily happen again as she does, so easily, wear her heart on her sleeve for one to take.

✍ - Can your muse write? How well? (Your pick)

Amandine’s handwriting is probably the most elegant of the bunch. There’s a few flourishes in her handwriting, some manner of weird cursive-normal writing mix. It makes more sense than it looks like it should on paper. Though, it’s probably a safe bet not to make Amandine write anything when she’s not fully awake. Then, it becomes far more alike chicken scratch than anything. Then again, who does have good handwriting while they’re half asleep, anyways? 

As for actual, like... writing writing, it’s generally the same on matters of elegance. Her mother spared no chance to impart all of her eloquence to Amandine, and to her credit, she retained most of it. Amandine doesn’t really brag about it much, though she’s always been proud of it. She just likes looking smart sometimes. 

It’s fairly solid, as far as writing goes! She’s far better with things like prose, poetry, or generally writing things down, though. Storytelling has never really interested her as much. Actually reading it is more her cup of tea. Though, it’s not like she’d be opposed to learning. 

Oliver has very small handwriting. It’s really light on paper most of the time, just present enough to make out the fact that its there, but not much else. One brush of an eraser would probably be enough to wipe it away, unless it was written with ink, or something. He has a habit of making little asterisks on the i’s. (Some habits-- and years-old jokes with your sister-- die hard, after all.)

Being that Eorzean isn’t his first language, writing in it can be a headache, sometimes. There’s... so many small rules to remember. He’s far better than he used to be, though some of them just make no sense in the slightest. Were he spiteful enough, he’d probably just start making up random rules. That’s what it seems like it is. 

Though, even despite that, he’s probably the best off when it comes to writing stories and the like. It was pretty much his sole source of escapism during some... dire times as a kid. A lot of the stories are rather more grim than you’d expect from him, but. Such was the way of the time. No one’s actually ever seen what’s written in the notebook that those stories are in, either. From family, or close friends. That small fact is unlikely to change soon. 

And then... there is Aurora. She was every grade teacher’s nightmare as a kid. Her handwriting would probably make a doctor’s look like calligraphy. It’s not like she can’t write nicely, she just doesn’t. As she puts it, it’s her own way of making a code. The more incomprehensible it is, the harder it is for people to actually forge it. Almost everything Aurora does is fueled by spite, in some way, really. 

Eorzean isn’t Rory’s first language, either, same as Oliver. The only difference is she’s been speaking Eorzean exclusively for longer-- at least 6 years, or so? Given how Aurora... is, usually, she probably wouldn’t be terribly offended if someone thought she was illiterate. The only problem is that she isn’t. She’s far smarter than she lets on, and her literacy is one of those things. In order to even be allowed to travel, she had to learn Eorzean. That was one of the biggest requirements her mother gave her when she was preparing to go and travel.

As for actual story-writing, Rory’s happy to leave that part to Oliver and Amandine. She doesn’t really have any interest in writing. It’s not for lack of ideas, just for lack of patience to sit down that long and just have to get them all out. Maybe if it was something like a play, or a story told through active means, she’d be more into it. She was a dancer for a decent number of years, so it’s not that far off.

The Ghost

It's an odd thing, to feel so far from grounded and yet trapped, tethered, unable to escape. there's more you have to do! so why can't you move? i'm sure you have an answer to that, at the very least in the back of your mind. people love to say that ghosts hold grudges or haunt for revenge but they always get it wrong; you're stuck because something or someone chained you down and left you there. you try and reach out to all those bright people who pass through your life, but it rarely feels like it does much more than knock a cup off the table, blow some papers into the air. i need you to trust me- they see it. they're listening. they'll keep looking for you and, eventually, they'll be able to see you too.

Pokémon Gym Leaders!

Dusk would be a fighting type gym! Which I think suits him well since luckily I previously already considered mega Gallade to be his trumph card pokémon. The rest would just be pokémon he thinks look cool/cute that fit into the type theme.

Dubus got dark type! Though I more consider him to be a fire type guy, he'd have an Arcanine as a little surprise twist pokémon.

Khu got dragon! Which was a little bit of a surprise. But I always considered him to be a psychic or dual type trainer so it works out. He'd try have an as balanced team as possible, with varying strategies and surprises.

Auro'usk got normal type! Which was not surprising. He'd have gentle pokémon and some dual grass types because that's the type I generally associated with him.

Zo'ogai got ghost type! As the lone wolf he is, it fits well, especially with pokémon with sad pokedex entries. He'd feel for those pokémon. Marowak and Kangaskhan especially with the parent lore around them, plus a sudden normal type in a ghost team? Would be an interesting twist tactic!

I decided to go with Eurie for this moodboard, since she is a new alt and needs some love - and it was nice practice to figure out what themes make up her as a character.

I think a big part of her is the contrast of her clean model-like, androgynous tall- with-long-legs aesthetic and the eccentric, violently grotesque interest to her research that bubbles within that. I was tempted to put something much more bloodied and a little gross onto one of the squares...but I chickened out and went with something more tame.

“I’m a lover of winter!” Allie exclaims. “Heat bothers me quite a lot, and so the colder months are my favourite. They always remind me of Ishgard - of home. Snow looks so pretty when it falls, and settles! There’s something magical about it to me. And ice, as well... it can look so beautiful!”
