𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐔𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 || 𝟒 ᴘʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡꜱ
Tumblr media
And now we have arrived at the second day of our celebration! This one is a slightly different from the other ones seeing as though this is a collection of 4 previews of stories to come. So if you are curious to learn about the origins of Caius, Marcus, Felix and Demetri; read on mortals.
Wordcount: 827 words
!Warnings! None!

𝐻𝑎𝑏𝑒𝑡, 𝐻𝑜𝑐 𝐻𝑎𝑏𝑒𝑡! || Felix
The stench of sweat, blood and tears never quite left Felix’s nose at the end of the day. While the sand was supposedly there to soak up whatever the gladiators spilled, it never quite masked the certain smell of death that hung over the arena’s before, during, and after a good fight.
Felix sat hunched over, head practically between his legs as his fingers attempted to relieve the headache that had settled in the back of his skull. His swords sat besides him, still not cleaned and taken care of from the days fights. Four. He had killed four men that day ranging between the ages of seventeen and twenty six.
Silently he had held out hope that his Editor would spare him the grief of killing the seventeen year old, his prayers had fallen on deaf ears however. The man, no, boy had held on to his thigh in a grip so tight it almost made his left foot feel as if ants were crawling all over it. The crowd had chanted over and over again no matter how desperate of a look Felix had sent Marcellus’ way.
Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him. Kill Him.
And Felix did. Driving his sword straight through the fragile neck as quickly as he could. The boy had green eyes he remembered, he had been able to see as much even through the galea he had on.
Felix’ thigh was still stained with his blood.
Tumblr media
𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑛𝑑. 𝐼 𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 || Marcus
It all had begun with a night of copious amounts of alcohol, the sort of evening that whispered promises of merriment and bad decisions. The wine had kept flowing from the time him and his friends had sat down till Makhawon found himself stumbling on his way home. The nights celebration of ‘The New Wine’ started to quiet down in the early hours of the morning, so he was finally able to make his way home to Pylos. He absentmindedly swiped at his midnight blue tunic, stretching it out in front of him; barely able to keep his balance in check. The garment had suffered terrible stains from his friend Akhilleus falling across his lap in a terrible display of imitating a fair maiden in need. Makhawon had humoured him however, and planted a sloppy kiss against the side of his friends mouth as their group burst into laughter. As happy memories swam in his drunken mind, he did not notice how he was followed by a lithe shadow.
One moment his cheeks hurt from smiling so wide, and the next he felt a sharp pain between his shoulder blades, the kind that instantly sobered him up. Luckily his large frame and strength must have caught his assailant off guard, had someone stabbed him? Perhaps if he had been of sound mind he would have seen the person who would have been considered his sire, instead Makhawon tripped and fell until a darkness enveloped him.
And that was how he woke up at the bottom of a ravine, blinded by so much fury he forget his very first days of immortality
Tumblr media
𝑂𝑓 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑠𝑢𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔. 𝐼 𝑎𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 || Caius
Blood.
It was the only tangible thing Káios could focus on to ground himself. The coppery taste in his mouth overwhelmed everything else as he concentrated on the soldiers in front of him that had fallen. His unit had been caught by surprise, the area was supposed to be secured but they had been wrong.
Káios had never been fond of how they were pushing farther east, taking him away from his home and family for months at a time. But he had little choice, just the year before he had been promoted; only one other man was higher than him in the hierarchy; and Glaukos now laid dead not far away from where Káios stood with his shield and spear raised.
It was his duty to make sure that as many of his men returned home as possible. He took a brief moment to turn his attention to the skies, whispering a brief prayer to Are before he charged forward once more.
Tumblr media
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑐 𝐷𝑒𝑓𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 || Demetri
What initially awoke Dimitrios from deep slumber was the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance, then the crashing of waves comforted him for a split second before he became aware of the searing hot pain. It originated from the junction between his shoulder and neck, the same place he had felt the strange man bite into before everything had darkened.
Little did Dimitrios ho Naupáktios know that once the sun rose across the great Aegaeum he would have little to no recollection of who he was or where he came from. His homeland would be nothing but a faint dreamlike memory he would always question the authenticity of until he would be able to return two hundred years into the future. When the boat reached the port of Al-Iskandariyyah one misty morning he would gaze upon the world with blood-red eyes.

Hello pal,
Thoughts on martine rose shox, mowalola nb 9060, RAF SS23, Jacquemus Humara & Undercover SS23?
• The Martine Rose Nike Shox? Not a fan. I’m just not big on Shox in general. I didn’t like them as a kid when they came out and I don’t like them now.
• The Mowalola New Balance collab is cool, but I think the colors would have been better on the 827. Maybe I just think that because I love the Stray Rays “Sewer Stompers” and would settle for something similar, especially backed by a name like Mowalola.
• I’m a fan of the Jacquemus X Nike Humara. A friend of mine works at DSM in London and is trying to hook me up with a white pair for my wife.
• As for Undercover SS23, I like the Pink Floyd reference, and the plaid garments, but as a whole it felt a bit bland. Spring-Summer seasons are usually the weaker of the two, so I’m not too surprised.

New Balance 1300 England New Balance Cleats New Balance Pigskin
The New Balance made in UK collection is renowned throughout the world. Its fame can
be heard on the other side of the world, in Japan. The Boston-based firm has once again
set foot in the Japanese capital. The lookbook photos of the New Balance S1 2020 Tokyo pack were shot in its streets:
New Balance 1500 S1 2020 Tokyo (made in UK)
. Strangely, the New Balance M1500GWR hardly appears. Only the New Balance 670
and 991 are distinguishable on the feet of the models. The ENCAP shoe based on
gray, navy blue and red suede, does not really need it. NB addicts will recognize
its value at first glance. On sale for 170€ at New Balance.fr : see the pair.

Loved Leon Dore x New Balance 827 Abzorb 'Multicolor
Tumblr media
Runners aren't normal. Aimé Leon Dore has dusted off the slogan of an advertising
poster from the 80s. It is reborn on the promotional visual of the New Balance 827
Abzorb 'Multicolor'. The choice of the 1999 model confirms Teddy Santis' taste for
vintage sportswear. The artistic director of ALD had to spend hours in the archives
before finding the 1999 running. It was completely missing. The collaboration and the
good dose of hype that accompanies it announces its return to grace in 2020. The same
process was used for the New Balance 850. Only the New Balance ML827ADD (price: 205
dollars) should be available at selected retailers, the other 2 are exclusive Aimé
Leon Dore. A raffle is open until Thursday, March 19 at Endclothing.

10 Material Things I Wish I Could Own Right Now
1. Axel Arigato Marathon Sneakers: The perfect dad sneaker with a futuristic personality and a lot less expensive than the Balenciaga Track sneakers, but still a whole lot of money, so until it goes on sale, I shall wait.
2. Uniqlo U Women’s Trench Coat: A piece that can perfectly integrate with my closet. If there is anything I learned about fashion is that men's clothes be bland and men can shop in the women’s section.
3. Zara Pleated Oversized Trousers or Shorts: When I heard these came out, I grew very excited, they are a rendition of the $500 Issey Miyake Homme Plisse Trousers, but now more accessible to us people who do not have the big bucks for it. Definitely saved it to my list to wait for it to go on sale
4. Watch Straps: my father passed down these watches to me, but time has worn down their straps, it would be nice to replace them so I can wear them again.
5. Seafood: One thing I miss from the bay area is access to fresh seafood. Whether that be fresh fish, clams, crab, anything, I just miss making fish at home.
6. New Balance 997H or 827: Another dad sneaker that I have my eyes on. I love the minimal colors they have, but idk, never seemed to pull the trigger on these.
7. Ox tail: I miss making my specialty, but I haven’t been able to find them at costco. But then again, I might be blind and haven’t looked around that well.
8. Japanese Knife set: a personalized chef’s knife fit for making sushi, fileting fish, or overall cooking. A knife is a chef’s brush and the ingredients are their palette
9. Blow Torch: You ever crave something charred to add onto the flavor of your meat? I have, and blow torches are fun. Excellent to add that finishing touch to my meals, and to melt cheese.
10. Smoke Gun: Imagine the smoky flavor but right at your fingertips. I’ve always wanted to try using one of these and seeing what I can make. The smoky flavor would do wonders to the meals I make. (They aren’t carcinogens tho right?)

Referred Species: E. okeeffeae
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Around 205 million years ago, in the Rhaetian of the Late Triassic
Tumblr media
Effigia was found at Ghost Ranch in the Chinle Formation in New Mexico
Tumblr media
Physical Description: Effigia was a small, bipedal animal that remarkably resembled dinosaurs it lived with at the time. In total, from head to tail, it would have been about two meters long. It walked on two legs that were held directly underneath the body, and it had small arms that weren’t used in supporting its weight. It had a long body, with a decently sized tail and long neck. The head of Effigia was small and narrow, ending in a beak and having no teeth whatsoever. So, in short, it looked like the later Limusaurus, except it wasn’t feathered - and it wasn’t a dinosaur! This is the first known example of the lightly-built bipedal animal with a beak body plan, aka, the “ostrich” body plan, even though this iteration - the first iteration - had nothing resembling feathers or efficient breathing or hollow bones. In fact, it probably would have breathed primarily based on abdominal muscles, based on its close relatives. And it did have hollow bone walls, much like dinosaurs. Effigia also had a somewhat endothermic body temp - ie, it was closer to warm-bloodedness than modern crocodilians, and may have even been warm-blooded outright. It had five fingers on each hand, though only three of each would have claws; it had four main toes on each foot, unlike the three in theropods, and a little toe raised up (kind of like the fourth toe in theropods). It was rather front heavy, unlike theropods that lean more towards the hip, giving it a forward-leaning appearance.
Diet: Probably herbivorous. While the exact diet of Effigia is murky, the beak of this species indicates it probably would have fed on a variety of plant material, like the later mimics such as Limusaurus and Ornithomimus. However, omnivory was certainly not out of the question.
Behavior: Because Effigia was front-titled, it’s actually not clear whether or not it would have behaved similarly to the animals it resembles. In fact, it doesn’t seem very well adapted for fast movement at all - it looks exactly like the sort of creature that may have tripped over itself on a regular basis. That said, it is entirely possible that it would have balanced itself differently, or adjusted its position in such a way to make up for this oddity in posture. That said, it also had fairly short legs compared to its overall body length, so it’s doubtful that it would have been a fast mover in any position. As such, it probably would have moved slowly throughout its ecosystem, grazing on plants and following fresh vegetation where it came up and utilizing its long neck to reach into areas where food was less accessible, and grabbing on to it for feeding. It may not have been a particularly social animal though, like living archosaurs, it probably would have taken care of its young in some fashion.
Ecosystem: Ghost Ranch was a large floodplain, not quite as forested as the environment had been in earlier times (when they were literally called the “petrified forest”), however, there were still extensive dry forests that experienced dramatic dry and wet seasons each year. These seasons were interspersed with regular flooding, which lead to rapid preservation of a very diverse Late Triassic ecosystem. This was an extremely diverse habitat, with a variety of other reptiles that lived alongside Effigia. There was the slender dinosaur Coelophysis, the weirdly-toothed dinosaur Daemonosaurus, the Silesaurids Kawanasaurus and Eucoelophysis, the Lagerpetid Dromomeron, the early Crocodylomorph Hesperosuchus, the Aetosaur Stenomyti, the phytosaur Redondasaurus, the Drepanosaurs Avicranium and Drepanosaurus, the aquatic archosauriform Vancleavea, the sphenodont Whitakersaurus; coelocanths, ray-finned fish, mystery fish, and even invertebrates such as branchiopods and ostracods. It’s possible that Effigia lived alongside other animals as well, but more research is needed into the exact environment of the Chinle Formation where Effigia was found before that can be confirmed. It is entirely possible that Effigia would have been preyed upon by Coelophysis.
Other: Effigia is so freaking weird, you guys. Like, the Triassic may as well be called the Period in Which Reptiles Tried Out All The Things Dinosaurs Would Later Do (But Only Dinosaurs Would Get Paid For It). It is so similar to later Ornithomimosaurs that at least a few paleontologists used to think that the remains later called Effigia were actually dinosaurs, before their proper reassignment into the Pseudosuchians. This just emphasizes how much different reptiles were trying out new designs and new ideas in the Triassic Period, some of which superficially resembled later dinosaurs - but with surprise twists. It also demonstrates exactly how much crocodile-relatives were diversifying extensively in the Triassic, and how hard they would be hit by the end-Triassic extinction.
