Fuck the Olympics. Putting the nationalism of it aside for a second, the absolute nonsense happening this year with it is ridiculous. Disqualifying Sha’carri Richardson for smoking weed after she found out from a reporter that her mother died? Absolutely disgusting. Banning BLM apparel and afro swimming caps? Straight up racist. Deeming two cisgender Black women (Namibia's Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi) ineligible for female classification because their natural testosterone levels were considered too high? A direct consequence of transphobia that the queer community has been saying would happen, an example of intersexism, and an example of misogynoir!
Boycott the Olympics!

Tonight (March 17 2021) in Atlanta, at least eight workers are dead after a series of targeted shootings in massage spas. The shooting is the latest in escalating Anti-Asian hate crimes, which have increased nearly 150% over the past year alone.
Below are a few links to organizations to consider supporting, all of whom are fighting for the rights of AAPI, as always feel free to add on any (credible) links or updates:

The murder of Palestinian children and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian communities is being supported by the US. Americans' taxes are funding these atrocities.
Please include Palestinians in your activism 🇵🇸❤️
Our hearts go out to Saeed Odeh's family, to the residents of Sheikh Jarrah & Silwan resisting ethnic cleansing, and to every Palestinian in exile waiting to return to their homeland 🇵🇸❤️🕊

I want to rage, to erase this crushing sense of helplessness in my lungs. To snarl instead of sobbing. I wanted to be shocked at this injustice. To be surprised and treat this as a horrific incident and not just a symptom of a bigger problem.
But I've witnessed how racist bigots reacted to Floyd, the instinctive racist response and "jokes" when people identified China as the one who was at fault with the whole COVID-situation, and how I immediately thought that those "low-key" racist thoughts will escalate someday to deadly actions. I listened to some of my friends when they said that I'm exaggerating.
And I wish- I wish I was. I wished that they were right and I was wrong. But look at our bloodied history. Look at where we are now.
One step forward, eight bloody steps back.

This is a summarized post for those who want to be informed. Obviously it does not cover everything, but it is in a simple format and highlights important points and is easy to understand.
Everyone has to do their own research. Not everything will be handed to you. There are many websites and sources out there, you have to look for them. The issues between Israel and Palestine is not an easy cut deal, there are many different factors that play into everything that is happening right now.

As you all may know, I am an Asian American, and the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes in the US is tragic and terrifying. A few years ago, my mother and I had unprovoked, racist threats spat at us while we were simply grocery shopping. They didn’t care who we were as people- they just reduced us to our race.
I want this space to be positive and encouraging for everyone, and that’s not possible unless I make this space clearly anti-racist. I hope this comic is a hopeful reminder that we’re all able to make the world a better place together! I can’t stop anything alone, but together, we can make a more caring society that welcomes and protects people of all races.

20 year old Daunte Wright was murdered by police in Brooklyn Center, a Minneapolis suburb today, April 11th, 2021 during a traffic stop.
As of 7pm, his body is still laying on the ground. Riot cops are on the scene with "less lethals" AND live weapons in response to a large crowd that has formed to hold space for grief and anger. Daunte's mother is there and speaking, and she shared the above photo of Daunte.
The Derek Chauvin trial is currently ongoing and these police are out here still actively murdering our neighbors. ACAB forever.
Say his name and demand Justice for Daunte Wright

Like imagine you’re the richest man on Earth and your wife is divorcing you because you work too much and consistently choose your job over your family. Bill Gates could literally spend his days getting exclusive tours of the Louvre or playing with quokkas on a private island, and instead he chooses the prevent poor people from accessing vaccines over his own wife. Billionaires’ brains should be studied in science labs, how in the hell are we allowing these people to decide anything about our world.

For anyone that doesn't keep up on news at AO3, they've announced that they're currently working on adding a blocking and a muting feature. From the announcement:
After some discussion, we've decided to consider the new functionality as two sets of separate features:
Blocking: preventing certain users from interacting with you
Muting : excluding content by certain users from your personal Archive experience
In this manner, we can offer our users a set of options to curate their own experiences and add a layer of protection against harassment, without making it harder for people to create and interact with content on the Archive. For example, you might want to mute a user for posting a lot of fanworks about a pairing you don't like, but you're fine with the same user leaving comments on your own works. By separating the two concepts, we'll also be able to deploy an initial, focused set of options while continuing to work on the rest of the functionality behind the scenes.
It looks like it's still in early development, and they're still working through figuring out how it will interact with things like public collections, but at least they ARE working on it!
