Ancestral Pueblo refers to both the ancient cultural tradition and the peoples once found in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest. It is one of three major cultural traditions defined by archaeologists in the four southwestern states (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah). The other two traditions are the Hohokam and Mogollon, neither of which extends into Colorado.

"Really? I've always thought there was something slightly sinister about rocking horses," said Lord Vetinari, but he looked subtly disappointed.

Petroglyphs on Rock Faces at Newspaper Rock in Petrified Forest National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: From an overlook at Newspaper Rock to this one rock face with petroglyphs. The view is looking to the northeast. The rock face with marking is more or less center image, but I decided to pull back on the focal length to include more of the surrounding rocks and colorful plant vegetation. While a zoomed in view of the rock face had its own qualities, I liked how pulling back added to a more complete setting and appreciation of the history of this area. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 4 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.
