"Now, when they [people from his village] move to the city [for work], they no longer want the things that parents can afford to give them, like handmade soaps, food and oil,” he adds. “They seem to want only store-bought things. They don’t take their elders’ advice. Parents take heavy loans to pay for education, but [some of] the children use it to drink and take drugs; they lie to their parents and a lot of money goes into paying for medical care and hospitals.” Then, he adds sorrowfully, “Even if you tell the children to stay, will they stay? I like the village, but there is no life left here."

2017 is finally ending and as I sit here listening to “My Way,” by Frank Sinatra (cliche, I know) I just want to reflect on all the great friendships I made this year. 2017 was a little rough for me, but I’m hoping to go into the New Year building on these friendships and gaining new friends. I want to go into 2018 with a positive attitude and goals in mind. I wish you all the best in the new year and that good vibes and amazing opportunities come your way.💙
@hollandbaby - ELIZA I LOVE YOU. 💖You are probably my closest friend on here.  Your so beautiful and amazing and you have really given me some great advice on something I’ve been struggling with, so thank you. I know that I can always come to you if I’m going through something. I love your writing and I hope 2018 is already going good for you
@beautifullydisconnected - Shaaayyy💕 I realize that we just became friends in like the past week, but you are a wonderful human being. We are on the same page when it comes to staying up late thinking about weird shit and I love it. You are so supportive and I absolutely love you!!
@pickachurose -Victoria you are incredible! 💜You are so nice an easy to talk to and it’s really relaxing. I’m about to go to college and completely stressed over it. But you give me an insight on college and what you want to do and it’s so interesting, it almost makes me want to do it! I hope your next semester goes as well as your first
@peterparkyourassonme - Sabine💓Your so young and amazing. I know you’ve been through a lot and I am glad that I was able to talk to you and give you some advice. I hope that your situation got better and you are doing well. If you still need someone to talk to, I’m here
@dusktillholland - Abby I know we just started talking, but I just wanted to say that you are really cool to talk to. I’ve learned about a new marvel character that now that I’ve looked into, I absolutely adore. Your writing is amazing and I hope that we continue to talk in the new year🧡
@floreawe - Nia Nia Nia. What can I say, except I see you almost every day at school. You have been my friend for years and I can honestly say that I love our friendship. You are always informing me about something that I definitely don’t know about because I live under a fucking rock. If I had money, I would go see the Shape of Water with you, buuuuttt I’m broke soooo. Anyways, Love you. And see you at school on Tuesday :)❣️
@heartattackholland - Zoe (such a nice name💗), we definitely haven’t talked in awhile. But it was nice talking to someone who is going through the same process of applying to college. I hope you got into your top college and be glad that we only have 5-6 months left of school until we graduate!
@o-brienwrites - Charis let me start off by saying again, all those tests, are insane. 17? That’s a lot. I hope you did really good on them. You were working very hard and I hope this new year brings you good fortune and opportunities💚.
@kissme-imgayy - Destine, I am so sorry. We haven’t talked in awhile and it’s completely my fault. But I loved when we talked. You listened to all my problems and I know I was a complete mess, so thank you. Going into the new year, I want to talk to you more. Again so sorry💛
@missannakocol - Anna we haven’t talked for a bit and that is definitely my fault. Talking to you was really great and I really loved it. I hope your youtube channel is going well and I hope to talk to you more in the new year. Really really sorry, again💝.
It’s been great being able to talk to you all and becoming friends with you. I’m probably really really boring, but you guys aren’t and it was nice to hear about your interests or be able to talk to you about something important to me. I wish for you all to have a wonderful beginning to the New Year and I hope to be able to still talk to you in 2018.🎉💙

"Keduanya dilaporkan hilang sekitar pukul 14.14 WIB," kata Tonggor Gultom, Koordinator Pos SAR Nias. Read the full article

“There weren’t many moneylenders when I was growing up, but now a lot of farmers are taking loans because today they need money for machines, pesticides and fertilisers,” says Sukhlal Suliya, of Badgaon village (Madhya Pradesh). "We used cow dung, which was good for the soil and didn’t cost us any money. But then the government started advertising urea and pesticides by saying it will give you more crops. Now, 40 years later, these are still used by most farmers and they spend so much on fertilisers and pesticides, which are destroying the soil. And then they sell  in the markets for very little profit, through middlemen, who buy the produce for far less money than what they sell to customers. So farmers make very little money,” he adds, with sadness.
