Posted @withrepost • @carlafc.66. People have pretty much forgotten Chequered Past. Considering the band featured Steve Jones. Michael Des Barres. Clem Burke. Nigel Harrison and Tony Fox Sales it's a great shame. Some one needs to reissue their one album soon. Good solid hooky hard rock. Pics from Kerrang ! 📷 Ross Halfin.

“An autographed photograph of George Harrison, in Light Car Company Rocket sitting in traffic at the inaugural Goodwood Festival of Speed, additionally pseudo signed ‘Enzo Wilbury,’ 16.3 x 24.2cm.” - easyliveauction dot com, 2019
“At the first [Goodwood] Festival [in June 1993], I remember looking out and seeing a Rocket parked under a tree by the house, where it shouldn’t have been. I said, ‘Who the hell’s parked there?’, and they told me it was George Harrison! We got to know him, and one day Gordon Murray brought George in for tea. He played a harp, and then started playing the piano. I said to my daughter, who was then about eight, ‘If you go next door you’ll find George Harrison playing the piano’. Of course she said, ‘Don’t be stupid.’” - Nigel Roebuck, Motor Sport Magazine, July 2008 (x)

Rebecca (PG): Classic Hitchcock, but heavy on 40's mysogeny.
#onemannsmovies review of "Rebecca" (1940). The Hitchcock classic doesn't fare well wrt sexism, but its still a fabulous movie. 4.5/5.
A One Mann’s Movies review of “Rebecca” (1940). The photo above for “Rebecca” comes from the special poster produced for the film by Harbour Lights cinema in Southampton (a splendid little cinema!). Harbour Lights staff, in this case Anastasia, get their personal film favourites shown again on the big screen. And what a joy it was to see again this Hitchcock classic – an Oscar “Best Picture”…
