I don't think I've seen anybody talk about how absolutely insane The Boiling Rock is from Hakoda's perspective.
Imagine getting captured, and your son tells you that you won't be apart for too long. That's sweet, but obviously your son has no resources to spare for organizing a breakout. You hope that the Avatar can defeat the Fire Lord soon - that's the earliest time you could hope to be rescued.
You get put into a temporary holding facility until the guards can sort out who is who. After a while, they put you on a prisoner transport to the Boiling Rock. Your captors try to intimidate you by telling you that it's the highest security prison in the Fire Nation, probably the whole world. It's far away from the capital.
You arrive at the Boiling Rock. It really is in the middle of a boiling lake. There's only one way in or out, and it's a gondola that takes you above the boiling lake. You meet the warden. They take you to your cell. You settle down to wait for the end of the war.
And 15 minutes later Sokka comes in like "hey dad I'm here I got the prince of the Fire Nation and an Earth Kingdom ninja leader gf ok let's go I'm busting you out"

i want to POST.....!! reborn au; ninjacon 2 (2!!)
Minato walked out of the restaurant first. The first thing he noticed was that all six civilians out on the street were passed out on the ground. So. That was probably bad.
“Shinobi-san,” a deep voice said, and then a man Minato recognized as a missing-nin from Kumo stepped out of the shadows. “You disgust me.”
Minato did not think he’d done anything to personally piss off Kumo no Isamu. But Kumo had been Iwa’s ally through the entire Third Shinobi War, and Minato had therefore killed countless Kumo-nin. They tended to just be mad at him. Then again, Isamu was an A-rank missing-nin with his own group of missing-nin lackeys who committed petty crimes across the smaller nations. Maybe he was just mad Konoha had increased the number of international escort missions to protect Fire Country’s commercial interests against scum like him.
Minato picked out three other presences crawling around in the darkness, waiting to pounce. No big deal, really.
Behind his back, he made a hand sign for Tori to stand down. Konoha didn’t actually have a lot of intel on this guy or the criminal group he’d put together; Minato wanted to see if he could get him talking before he killed him.
Instead, Isamu threw him for a loop by continuing, “You dare impersonate the Yellow Flash?”
“W-what?” Minato asked, dumbfounded. Behind him Tori let out a noise that sounded like a hiccup but that he was sure was an aborted laugh.
“It’s pathetic,” Isamu spat out. He was only average in height, but he was broad with a mane of platinum blonde hair that made him seem huge. He took a few threatening steps towards Minato. “This entire freak show in town is pathetic. But you– you’re an actual ninja. You should know better.”
Isamu was close enough now that Minato could smell his breath. It was rank; he could stand to redo a few lessons on maintaining personal hygiene in the field.
“Do you understand the weight of the name Yellow Flash?” Isamu asked, eyes wide. “Do you understand how many people he’s slaughtered?”
Tori shifted behind him, making several hacking noises most people would interpret as coughs.
“But it’s a really cool costume,” Minato replied cheekily, and Tori wheezed.
Then he signed again for her to continue standing down, and let himself get kidnapped.
“Why,” Tori demanded as she was also kidnapped. It probably sounded to their captors that she was mad at them and not him.
Minato was just curious, that was all. If he just killed Isamu now, it was possible his organization could continue without him, and then Konoha would have lost a valuable opportunity for intel on them. It would be better if Minato figured out the structure of their organization and then killed them. If he had a little fun on his first field mission in years, that was just a bonus.
Plus, the ongoing monologue Isamu was giving him as they moved locations was… kind of funny. How dare Minato impersonate one of the most influential shinobi of this generation, etcetera.
They moved them to a partially constructed hotel. There were many of them dotting the outskirts of town; either the money for the project had dried up, or construction was paused temporarily. The building itself was up, but the walls had exposed pipes and there wasn’t yet working electricity.
In addition to the three missing-nin Isamu had with him, there were two more at the hotel.
“Look at this pathetic excuse for a ninja!” Isamu yelled, throwing Minato at the unfinished floor. “A disgusting pretender, grasping for power. As if a Kage would sink so low!”
Isamu made all of his missing-nin lackeys go around and explain to Minato how the Yellow Flash was too scary and powerful to be impersonated. Tori, who had been dropped much less violently than Minato, stuck her head between her knees and made horrible shuttering noises as she fought her own laughter.
“And who is this little bitch you picked up?” Isamu said, moving to tower over Tori. “Using your stolen identity to pick up stupid civilian girls?”
Tori sat up, a look of horror on her face.
“He’s my dad,” she said at the same time Minato said, “She’s my niece.”
Oh, awkward, Minato thought. That was a rookie-level misspeak.
Isamu seemed too into his own narrative to pick up on the mistake, though; he had two of his lackeys hold Minato while another pulled Minato’s weapons from his body. Isamu held up a handful of Minato’s kunai.
“You might think this is dedication,” Isamu sneered, “but to me, this is a joke. Like you could even mimic his techniques.”
He threw the kunai across the floor, and Minato had to mash his lips together to prevent his own laughter.
Another lackey patted Tori down and confiscated her purse.
“Hey!” Tori protested. “That’s new– it’s designer– take my wallet if you want, but the purse–”
They tied them back to back and left them in a tiny backroom. Minato sat there a few minutes, concentrating on where the missing-nin had gone. Two of them had evidently picked up a kunai, and so in addition to his regular senses, he could track them exactly by where the Hiraishin markers went.
When he judged it safe to talk, he said, “Sorry about your purse. I’m sure we can get it back.”
“Ugh,” Tori replied. She slumped her weight against him, so at least she wasn’t nervous or anything. After a beat, she said, “So why’s he obsessed with the Yellow Flash? Did you piss him off during the war or what?”
“I don’t think we’ve ever met,” Minato said carefully. He was… not sure he’d remember if he had met someone like Isamu. At some point, he’d stopped caring about anyone besides the likes of the Raikage or a jinchuriki. “That’s probably why he’s… confused. Surely you understand sometimes people just become fixated on famous shinobi.”
That was the point of this whole convention, wasn’t it? Sometimes you didn’t even have to be famous to be the object of someone’s obsession. Tori knew this, given… whatever Sasori kept stalking her for.
“God,” Tori said. “How do you not have the world’s most insane ego?”
Minato laughed.
“Mostly it’s just annoying,” he said. His social life, for example, was a disaster. “This man is a bit intense, though.”
“I can’t tell if he wants to kill you or be you,” Tori said.
Or do me, Minato thought. That happened more than he was comfortable admitting.
“What exactly are we trying to do?” Tori asked. “Because if you’re just fucking around, I support you, but I still want to go to that midnight showing.”
Tori clearly wasn’t treating this as “your Hokage has just been kidnapped.” Or, well, Minato hoped she wouldn’t talk to him like this if this were an actual dire situation. Given the circumstances, however, he preferred her casual approach. He hadn’t run a fun little mission like this in ages, and he was feeling nostalgic.
Minato did his very best to explain to her without using his Hokage voice that he wanted to gather some intel before he got rid of them. He hadn’t meant to involve her, but he also hadn’t really had a choice without revealing himself to be much more of a threat than he was.
“I can definitely get you to the midnight showing,” Minato promised. “You shouldn’t even have to do anything here.”
“No, I’m…” Tori shifted, and he felt her shoulders moving against his. “I think I might be physically incapable of not doing anything under circumstances like these.”
That would follow along with about 30% of the complaints in her file and just about everything Kushina had ever said about her, yes.
“This will be fun,” Minato decided. He’d obviously never really worked with Tori before, but Kushina liked working with her, so she had to be fine. Even without his weapons, he didn’t consider Isamu and his crew a threat. Instead, trying to trick them into revealing intel would be a fun sort of puzzle.
“Let’s see… if you need to be in the ballroom by midnight…” Minato debated. “We can pull the plug at…” He pondered all the steps necessary outloud to her: he'd have to kill everyone, teleport them back to their hotel room, and then she had to physically walk there, which would be the most time-consuming step at a civilian-friendly pace. “11:50, to be on the safe side?”
“Wow, did Kakashi get his time management from you?” Tori asked. “I want to get there early, and have time to change.”
Minato peered down at the floor, which was covered in sawdust. Tori was dressed in extremely civilian clothing right now. Nice clothing, even. That was fair.
Maybe he should tell her to escape? He doubted she could take Isamu on her own-- he was ranked as an A-level by Konoha largely for combat prowess-- but she could almost definitely stage an escape on her own. Tori wasn’t in anyone’s bingo books yet, but that was for the exact reasons that she would rank highly once anyone managed to figure out her game. This group seemed to genuinely believe she was a civilian, after all.
On the other hand, he’d sort of just promised her she wouldn’t have to do anything, and he felt a little bit guilty that he’d dragged her into a mission on her weekend off. And even if he had full confidence in her, there could be other variables in play-- like more missing-nin running around they hadn’t seen yet-- that would make letting her go off on her own more dangerous for her than he’d anticipated.
“Do you really not have any weapons on you?” Minato asked. He definitely wasn’t letting her go off on her own without at least that.
“Obviously not,” Tori replied, irritation entering her voice. “I’m on vacation.”
“Technically speaking,” Minato started, because it was indeed against regulation for active duty shinobi to go out unarmed, but he was cut off by one of the shinobi walking by outside.
Well, he supposed it didn’t matter. It wasn’t like he was going to write her a citation after he’d dragged her into this.

HEYY POOKIEE!!!! I had an idea from the movie, so basically the reader being the ninja's little sibling who don't get along at all. They fight over the smallest things at school and at home. That's until one day while Garmadon attacks the reader gets captured and the ninja has to save the reader, which accidentally causes the ninja to reveal their identity and the reader just gives their sibling a big hug and apologizes for everything they've said in the past and they up!!!
Okay that's it TYSM HAVE A NICE DAY OR NIGHT AND REMEMBER TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF POOKIEE💛💛💛🤍🤍🤍
Yes of course!! <33
Ninjago - Ninjas When You (Their Little Sibling) Are Taken
Kai
Kai pretended like he didn’t care when he first saw you were taken
But he was determined to get you back; in reality, he did indeed care
He was ready to do whatever it took to get you back
He fell blindly into a trap, finding himself restrained by one of Garmadon’s goons
They pulled off his mask, but his face remained hardened
He snapped at his captor, taking advantage of their brief moment of shock at seeing his face
He left his mask forgotten on the ground, rushing to your aid
He lifted you in his arms and booked it to safety
He paused on a rooftop to catch his breath
You decided to take the opportunity to apologize
The words didn’t come easy, but you finally found them
“Kai… I’m sorry. For everything. For the mask, for everything I’ve said—”
“It’s okay, Y/n. I’m just glad you’re safe.”
After that day you made an effort to be nicer to him, difficult as it was
He tried to keep his temper in check too
You silently appreciated each others’ efforts, but the fruits were even more precious
Your relationship started to shift ever so subtly, but it was doubtlessly improving
Jay
Jay was terrified when you got involved
It was like he forgot your terrible relationship entirely
He clumsily rushed to your aid, his skills crumbling under the weight of his anxiety
He ended up pinned down, and his assailant roughly pulled off his mask
His face turned bright red as he was exposed, and in a sudden burst of panicked energy he was able to push them off
He nabbed his mask quickly before remembering his original mission
Then he jumped back into action, managing to retrieve you and find a safe place to hide
He grabbed you by the shoulders, turning you from side to side to check for injuries
“Are you okay? Did they hurt you?”
“Jay, I’m so sorry! I’ve ruined everything, haven’t I? Oh, I’ve been so horrible…”
He couldn’t deny that you had been pretty bad
But he also admitted that he was no better
You shared a hug
In that moment, you formed a new bond
You both started to act nicer from then on
That hug established a new norm of tenderness between you two :)
Lloyd
He was mostly miffed when you were taken
He directed his anger at his father for getting you involved
So he went into battle with a fury he often felt when facing Garmadon
But this time it was extra personal
He confronted Garmadon directly, making a snide comment about treating his children like chess pieces
He pulled off his mask to prove the point, too angry to think clearly
Garmadon was so shocked that Lloyd was pretty much able to walk away with you
He marched away angrily, dragging you behind
He started to vent about Garmadon
After you got over your shock, you started agreeing with him, even adding your own complaints
When he was done he just huffed, burying his face in his palm
You saw that tears were dribbling onto his glove
“Um, Lloyd? I just wanted to say sorry… we don’t really have the best family dynamic, and I… I don’t want our relationship to be like the one we have with our dad.”
“Me neither. I really do love you, you know.”
“Same here.”
You embraced, vowing to be better
And you both made a valiant effort, using your father as a sort of anti-example
As it turned out, he was a strong motivator; your relationship improved quite steadily from then on
Cole
As much as he might’ve disliked you, he knew he had to save you
He couldn’t live with himself otherwise
So he hurried into the thick of the battle, his eyes locked on you all the while
He was secretly worried they’d hurt you, though he’d hesitate to admit it
He was distracted; it wasn’t long until an opponent grabbed a sudden hold of his mask
He whipped around, downing the assailant in a single blow and grabbing his mask
But he didn’t take the time to put it on, simply tucking it into his belt while he ran to your aid
The hardened look in his eyes made you feel especially guilty
You could only imagine how angry he was, having to save you and then having his identity revealed in the process
But when you were alone, he asked with surprising softness if you were okay
The look on his face had softened, too
Still, you felt guilty
“I’m fine. Um… I’m really sorry, Cole. This was all my fault..!”
“What? No, it was Garmadon’s doing. I’m not mad at you, Y/n. You’re my family. I love you, little rascal that you are.”
He ruffled your hair roughly, making you giggle
You wrapped your arms around him suddenly
He slowly hugged you back
In that moment you shared a silent agreement to be better
It might not have been spoken, but you both held fast to that agreement, and slowly your relationship did improve :)
Zane
The second you got involved, Zane’s objective was to save you
You were more important to him than anything: his pride, the mission, anything
He forgot everything else, abandoning his current task to rush over to you
In his haste, the opponent he was running from managed to catch his mask
He ran without realizing that the mask had come off
Even your flabbergasted gaze didn’t clue him in
The stares he was getting didn’t even register as he carried you away from danger
When you were alone, he mechanically asked if you were okay
You just stared at him, the image of a thousand eyes on you as you ran stuck in your mind
“Zane, your identity… I’m so sorry, if I had never been taken..!”
“Why are you apologizing? It was not your fault. I’m just glad that you’re safe. You’re my family, and I care for you greatly.”
You blinked at him, cursing the tears that came to your eyes
He hugged you, and through your tears you told him that you loved him too
After that, you decided to try and be nicer to him
He matched your efforts as soon as he noticed them; he was more than ready to fix your relationship
After all, you were his top priority ;)
Nya
She was incredulous when you were captured
She took it sort of personally
This fueled her rage, and she went on a war path to save you
She threw you over her shoulder; saving you was how she was measuring her victory
With you in her arms, she was satisfied
In her mind, she’d already won
Which made her getaway a little sloppy, and she ended up losing her mask to an especially quick assailant
She was frozen in shock and horror for a moment
Then she ran, faster than ever before
She practically collapsed as she set you down, chest heaving from the exertion as much as the panic
But she calmed herself, reminding herself that she saved you
Exhaling slowly, she straightened and put a hand on your shoulder
“Nya, I’m sorry! I never meant for any of this to happen! I love you too much… even though I don’t act like it…”
“All that matters is that you’re safe. And, for the record, I love you too.”
You shared a little smirk, a secret understanding established between you two
Knowing that you really did love each other seemed to soften the tension between you two
Teasing turned into jokes as your relationship gradually mended :)

Whispers of the night -Lloyd Garmadon x F!reader
Tumblr media
This is a PT 2, here is part 1
Tumblr media
Y/n was mindlessly skateboarding trough the streets, listening to the music blasting trough her headphones while silently humming along.
It was night time, not many people roamed the streets anymore, and they especially stayed away from fighting notices coming from an alleyway.
Not Y/n though, she didn’t hear a thing as she put the sound of her music up.
Suddenly she was ripped from her skateboard and a hand was pressed against her mouth, she felt something sharp against her neck.
Her eyes widened at the sight in front of her.
“Nice haul.” Kai called out to the five men that had just robbed a jewellery store, leaving the owner fatally injured. Zane was currently with him waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
“Yet, I think it abetted if you hand that back to us.” Kai’s voice had a threat laying beneath it and one of the robbers huffed. “And how do you intend to stop us?” He took a step forward with confidence.
Lloyd couldn’t help but smirk beneath his mask. Once again some simple robbers underestimating them.
“Let’s make a deal,” Cole jumped down the wall that was the end of the alleyway. “You hand is that sack, and maybe you will get away with this without broken bones.” He said.
“Sure, why don’t we make a deal,” the man, that was obviously their leader, stepped forward. “You let us go, and we won’t hurt one of your beloved citizens.” He grinned and the ninja shared unamused looks.
“That seems like a nice deal, of course, but uh, I think you are missing a part of your plan.” Jay said matter of factly.
“Oh, right,” the leader smirked. “Kano,” he looked back, and the biggest of the group smirked.
As if it was fate, someone just came by the alley and she was ripped of her skateboard by ‘Kano’ and another of the men pressed a knife against her neck.
The five Ninja recognised the girl immediately as the one that had given Lloyd her number. She looked up and her eyes widened when she saw the Ninja.
Great, of course she’d land herself in such a situation. She was obviously not going to tell her mother who’d get mad at her for sneaking out and she’d definitely get an ‘I told you so.’
“Alright, let the girl go.” The black ninja spoke. “And why would we do that?” One of her captors spoke.
“Out of the goodness of your heart?” The blue ninja tried making the others glare at him and Y/n rolled her eyes at the comment.
Couldn’t they get this over with? She was actually rather cold and still needed to go to school tomorrow.
She’d free herself, but the man holding her was way stronger than her so she didn’t bother. Not like her illusions would help in a situation like this too.
“Look, just let the girl go, we can handle this without you hurting another citizen,” the green ninja stepped forward, a hand resting in the hilt of his sword.
Oh they hurt another citizen? This situation might be a bit more serious then she expected.
Suddenly the guy that was holding her loosened his grip and she saw this as an opportunity to bit his hand and push the hand holding the knife away.
She wirled around to see the man falling on the floor unconscious, and behind him stood the white Ninja, who was, although the mask, obviously smirking.
The other ninja didn’t waste a second in taking out the others and moments later all of them where unconscious and tied up.
“Are you alright, miss?” The white ninja looked at her as she inspect her wrist that had been held incredibly tight.
“Yeah, I’m fine, rather cold though, so I guess I’d be headed home.” She shrugged and they looked at her in shock.
“You’re not hurt or anything, maybe a bit in shock?” The green ninja stepped forward. “Well, my wrist does hurt but that’ll be fine, I’ve handled worse injuries.” She waved it off.
And stepped out of the alleyway, looking around for her skateboard and cursing to herself when she didn’t see it.
“Here.” She turned around and it seemed the green ninja had already found it as he was holding it out to her. “Do you need Anglicanism to walk you home?” The water ninja asked her with concern and Y/n smiled.
“Nah, I’m fine,” she assured.
“Maybe it’s better if you don’t roam the streets on your own at this time.” The black ninja suggested and she shrugged. “I think I’ll survive, but bye I guess.” She said and then took off, calling Amelia on her way home to tell her the story.
—/—
The next day all eight of the friends walked trough Ninjago city.
“You you just told them that your fine, a bit cold, but you’d just get home easily and alone?” Luna asked with raised eyebrows and Y/n nodded. “That’s like the biggest you thing to do.” She laughed.
“What? It was not a big deal, it lasted five reminders tops, I don’t have to go to therapy for that?”
The others laughed and suddenly Anthony stopped walking. “What?” Arthur stopped next to him. “I’m kind of hungry, what about you?” Anthony smirked.
“Like you read my mind.” Charlie gave the same kind of smirk back. “Harvey’s, then?” Flora asked and everyone nodded. It was a huge supermarket almost everyone in Ninjago got their stuff there.
As they walked towards the place, they came by the alley Y/n had been the night before and she pointed it out with a small smile.
“Damn, almost died here then?” James joked making her laugh. “Imagine if you had died! Could I have gotten your skateboard then?” Luna looked at her.
“Absolutely not! It would definitely go to me!” Amelia protested. “You’re telling me that if I died, the problem would be who’d get my skateboard?” Y/n asked with a raised brow.
“Well, that’s not my problem, I’d just raid your closet.” Flora shrugged making everyone laugh.
They entered Harvey’s and smiled innocently at the cashier who gave them a suspicious look. “How cute, she recognised us.” Arthur grinned.
“Arty, please don’t tell me you like her.” Luna groaned. “Nah, don’t worry, Klara Butcher already has his heart.” Anthony said and Arthur hit his arm with a hiss.
“Oh right, I wouldn’t say.” He grinned innocently. “No way! You have a crush on Butcher?” Y/n interrogated. “You mean that girl with the purple haar tips?” Luna asked excitedly and Arthur just told them to shut up.
They walked trough the supermarket and towards the bread. “Croissants, everyone?” Charlie asked making everyone nod. “And a cinnamon roll for me aswel.” Flora quickly added. “And for me!” James chirped.
After that they head trough the drinks, making their way there, they walked trough the candy section and Y/n’s eye fell on a pack of skittles.
She grinned and as they walked past, she took it and placed it in the pocket of her hoody together with her hands.
They then took a bottle of cola and they checked out by the self-checkout.
They casually walked trough the store doors… and then the alarm went off.
They tried to keep walking casually but the moment someone yelled “hey, stop!” They bolted away.
They laughed as they looked behind them to see the two security guards try keeping up.
“Stop! Thieves!” He yelled out and the eight teens just kept running and laughing.
Just around the corner was a jewellery shop that had been robbed the previous night. Six ninja where there to try find any clues to who the group of robbers had been.
“Stop, thieves!” They shared glances before running out of the shop, only to see a group of teens being chased by out of breath guards.
“It’s not them, guys.” Jay waved it off about to walk back. “Their still thieves.” Nya pulled him back. “What do we do, are we going after them?” Kai looked as Lloyd.
“We don’t have much better to do.” Lloyd shrugged and the Ninja ran of towards the group of teens.
Not like they where to find anything in that jewellery shop.
“Uh, guys, I think we have a problem!” Luna yelled as she looked behind them. The group looked back to see they weren’t running from guards anymore, but from Ninja.
“Oh god, we are not winning this race.” Arthur groaned as they quickly turned a corner. “Well, I dare say we know the city better then them!” Hi twin brother disagreed.
“Anthony is right! I say we split!” Y/n called and she then grabbed Luna and turned into an alley, followed closely by Charlie.
“Their splitting up!” Cole called out. “Alright, Kai, Jay, you two go after those two, Zane and Cole you take the three that went straight, Nya and I go right!” Lloyd ordered and they all listened.
“Goddamnit Y/n! You know there’s a fence at the end of this alley!” Luna called as the three friends ran as fast as they could. “I know, I know, but we can get to the roof with that fence and then we can easily get to the Main Street, we’ll lose them easily in the crowd!” She called.
They got to the fence and when they looked back, the water ninja and the green ninja where approaching fast.
Charlie quickly helped Y/n up the fence who then went onto the roof, he then helped Luna who did the same.
Both of them then grabbed him and managed to get from the ground to the roof.
The hopper from roof to roof, almost slipping multiple times. The two ninja had easily got onto the roof, not wasting a second.
“You still think we can make it to main?” Charlie questioned. “I might have made a slight mistake in time.” Y/n called out.
“Well good going!” Luna called back. “Hey I’ve only ever ran from the police, I didn’t expect this alright!”
Her mind raced against time and she looked around. “You two jump down right here, then go leg immediately into opal-street and into the video store.” She called and they gave her a sceptic look.
“Trust me!” She called and Luna sighed. “Let me guess, you keep running and get caught? Little hero!” She joked and Y/n laughed.
“I’ll get myself out, promise!” She said and then the two finally listened as she kept running. When she looked back, the water ninja had followed her two friends and she hoped they would get to the video store in time.
Nya and Lloyd ran into the alleyway to see one of the boys help a girl up the fence. “Hold on a second, there is no way!” Nya called out recognising the girl.
“How is that possible!” Lloyd couldn’t help but laugh.
“She’s good!” Nya said as the girls helped the guy up the roof. Though, the two of them did it without breaking a sweat.
They followed them but where surprised when two jumped down.
“You follow them!” Lloyd called and Nya nodded and jumped after them.
He himself had almost caught up with Y/n who then jumped down aswel.
He quickly jumped after her and she tried to run but he grabbed her arm and pushed her Shinkansen the wall.
Lucky for him he had a mask because their faces where so close he couldn’t help but blush.
“Hello again.” He greeted and she was speechless for a moment. “Hi.” She said shortly before pushing him of her slightly.
“So you went from damsel in distress to thieve?” He gave her an amused look. “Thieve is a rather big word.” She rolled her eyes.
He huffed. “You shouldn’t be stealing either way, thieve or not.” He said and she chuckled. “Your kind of a kill joy, you know that?” She asked and he sighed.
“Listen- stealing is just wrong,” he pointed out making her huff a sarcastic laugh. “Harley’s is a multi million company, they won’t miss a pack of skittles.” She got it out of her pocket and waved it around. “And whatever my friends took.” She rolled her eyes.
“And before you give me the whole talk, we went to self check out, so no, the cashier doesn’t have to pay for what we stole, and no, I know damn well it won’t go of the workers pay check so don’t try to gaslight me into thinking that, and before you come up with a lie, I know Harleys policy because I worked there for a while so you also don’t have to give me the talk about not knowing how it feels.” She pointed out and he gave her an amused look.
“You’ve been caught multiple times, haven’t you?” He asked and she grinned. “A few, we mostly get away with it easily, the alarm doesn’t even always go off.” She explained.
Her phone started ringing and she got it out of her back pocket.
Incoming call from flowers😍…
“Can I take this?” She asked and the green ninja sighed and nodded. “Hey, babes,” she answered the phone making the person on the other end chuckle.
“Hey, n/n, we lost them,” Flora said. “We’ve re-grouped, where are you guys?” She asked and Y/n looked over at the ninja in front of her.
“No idea where Charlie and Lu are, but I’m having a nice conversation with the green ninja here.” She said, winning at him making him shake his head.
“Seriously? You got caught?” Flora laughed and Y/n could hear her other friends laugh aswel. “Yeah, haha, how funny, I suppose I see you at Jamie’s?” She questioned.
“You got it!” Flora said. “Right, see you in ten then.” Y/n said before hanging up.
“So, can I go?” She looked at the green ninja and he gave her a look. “You think that after shoplifting and then proceeding to let us chase you trough the city, I’m just going to let you go like that?” He gave her a sceptical look.
“Well, yeah, what, your going to take me back to Harvey’s and make me give back that bag of skittles?” She cocked an eyebrow and he was silent for a moment.
“Here, for your troubles.” She tossed him the bag of skittles which he caught. She walked past him and out of the alley.
“Hey,” he snapped out of his trans and looked at Nya who had appeared next to him. “I lost them.” She admitted.
“I caught Y/n, but she just gave me the skittles and walked off again.” He admitted. The others then found them, landing next to them.
“We literally just got beat by a group of teens.” Kai said annoyed. “Seems like Lloyd got himself a stealing girlfriend.” Nya laughed.
“Wait, was that the group from the park?” Jay asked and then everyone realised that they had just chased the girl that had given aloud her number.
Once again, Lloyd knew he was in for a day of teasing.
Her friends cheered when they noticed Y/n coming their way.
“How’d you escape the green ninja?” Amelia joked. “I just gave him the skittles I stole and walked off, didn’t even stop me.” She grinned.
Everyone laughed and headed inside James house.
“So, what’ve we got?” Arthur asked. “Well, we don’t have skittles, that’s for sure.” Luna said as she laid three cans of energy drink on the table.
“Not like we’re gonna need those that much anyway.” Anthony said, putting two chocolate bars, two cans of soda and a small bag of candy down.
“Jeez, Andy, how many pockets have you got?” James joked as he threw just two snickers onto the table.
The only one who had nothing was Flora. She had just joined a year ago after she began dating Charles and the idea of stealing was always a bit hard for her.

====================================
It would be fitting to say, it was a dark stormy night, when I sneaked into the poacher's den, but in fact it was a calm chilly evening, in the middle spring. The sun only began to set down, when I found the base of the operation I was tracing down for months.
There were plenty of people in the world willing to pay a hefty price for a magical creature. So obviously, there came assholes who busied themselves with catching and selling them. But they made one serious mistake. They tried to hunt in the witch's domain. Mine, to be precise.
They made their base in a wide sinkhole in the middle of the old forest. About half a dozen goons were camping next to the mouth of a cave, presumably their main storage. They were sitting by the campfire and drinking heavily from glass bottles and ceramic jars, for warming-up.
I was hiding in the bushes, observing. The day was cold. A gentle drizzle, half way between rain and fog, was settling on me as a damp layer. If not for my warm coat and thick gloves, I would be already freezing. I had a hood pulled deep on my face with my pointy hat put on top.
The sinkhole was an excellent place to stay hidden, and to help keep imprisoned beings inside. Far worse to defend yourself against an ambush. I had a few spells prepared.
I made the fog rise from the forest floor and slowly flew down into the hole. They didn't notice anything suspicious about it until they all started to feel dizzy and unsteady on their feet. The airborne spores I added to the cloud were working.
I sat on my trusty broomstick, covered my nose and mouth with a scarf and flew down into the cloud. I landed unnoticed near the mouth of the cave. I nearly tripped over one of drugged bandits. He was wiggling on the ground, mumbling something about the rain, so I assumed he was dreaming about being a worm in the mud. He seemed strangely content with that.
The cloud was only reaching a few feet inside. Further, the air was clean, so I was able to uncover my face.
Creatures in the cages looked at me when I came in. Some got startled by the presence of a human, but some seemed to recognise that I am not one of their captors. Maybe they even knew what my pointy hat meant. A shine of intelligence in some of the eyes, made me feel sick to my stomach. Not like I wasn’t expecting magic folks trapped together with magical animals, but it was always a shock. Sleeping spore was far too good for those bastards.
I could see only about eight cages with residents inside. Either the poachers were bad at their job, or they managed to transport and sell most of their catches before I could stop them. I didn't have much hope of rescuing the poor guys after they were given away into the hands of some rich collectors or power-hungry mages.
I waved my hand at the creatures. “I am a friend. I want to help, I promise. Let me do that, please.” None has answered me, but that was okay. Many beings able to speak like to fall silent at the moment the human shows up. I was not here to make friends anyway. I began to walk from cage to cage, speaking to them soothingly and checking up their condition.
All the creatures seemed to be in relatively good health. They had to get captured recently. I could risk simply letting them go as they were. They were able to find their way out and take care of themselves, just like they were doing before humans took them.
Meanwhile the sleep cloud outside started to dissipate.
I quickly opened the cages and urged the creatures to move fast, before the bandits could wake up. I didn't need to tell them that twice. All ran out and didn't look behind once. If some of them were about to trample their former captors in their sleep, I couldn't blame them.
I could give myself a pat on the shoulder for a good job, and fly home. Or should I try to place some curses on the bandits, while they were still unconscious? I couldn’t exactly arrest them, I was just one person, and what they were doing was hardly even illegal in this part of the world. But a good curse or two would make their life miserable for a good while, and force them to seek some very expensive help with their removal.
I was just about to start when something brought my attention. Deep inside the cave, there were rows of shelves, and boxes, likely with gear and supplies, for the long hunting trips.
I spotted a big glass jar, lying overturned on the ground. From afar I thought it was just an emptied container for alcohol. The fading daylight was not enough to let me see clearly, but I felt there was some object inside. I wordlessly ordered the crystal at the end of the broom to lit up with starlight stored inside. The gentle glow revealed a tiny figure curled up inside the jar.
I crouched down to have a better look and gasped. It was a fairy. A real fairy like in the old children tales. It had to be.
The figure was yellow, with something like orange flower petals growing out of the tiny head. They were dressed in fabulously colorful clothes. On their back… there was a set of butterfly-shaped translucent wings. The wings were sparkling in the light, and flowed like silk, but they had to be able to spread and fly once.
Could I be mistaken? Fairies were extremely rare, and nearly impossible to spot. They were supposed to live deep in the woods and never ever show up to adults. They were supposed to only be seen by nice kids who’d listen to their parents, respected nature and did their chores in time. Naturally, many people doubted their existence after getting older.
My mentor told me about them too, when I was still very young. She said they are beings of great magic. They were supposed to be invisible to most, and have a natural bond to all living things, and energies of the universe were flowing through them freely.
“Nature's tiniest miracles“ she said with her eyes so dreamy. It was so unlike her to act this sentimental, that the memory remained clear. She had traveled everywhere, saw everything and had a very cynical view of the world. She also swore she saw a fairy once in the distance as a girl, and tried to find it ever since. But apparently they were once in a lifetime sightings.
Now one was right before me, closed in a jar. A jar that likely was once used for storing cheap booze. Somebody made an effort to jab carelessly a few times at a metal cab, to create holes for air. Did the bandits even know what they had trapped?? Could somebody really be this stupid?!
Even though I never saw a fairy, I could say this one didn’t look healthy. Their petals were withered, their skin sickly pale, and they were sitting curled up with their face hidden in their knees.
I put my hand on the glass. When I did that, the fairy finally looked up. Their face was round like a child's, sunny yellow with a bouquet of freckles. Their big round eyes went wide with fear, one sky blue, one gold like a sunset. They also started to shiver.
“Don’t worry,” I said, taking away my hand, and putting a reassuring smile, a little forced but still genuine. “I’m here to help.”
They opened their mouth and said something. Their lips were moving but very little sound was getting through the glass. I pointed at my ears and then at the jar cab.
“I can't hear you. I will open this now. Don’t panic, alright?”
Once I took off the top, the yellow fairy crawled out. They laid down on the ground, panting erratically and shaking. That scared me. Were the holes in the cab not giving them enough air? Or was it the reaction to shock? Fairies were always described as fragile and sensitive creatures. I swallowed hard.
“I am not going to hurt you, I promise.” I said in a soft voice. “I’m a friend.”
The creature peaked at me.
“I know you are scared but would you let me-?”
“Moon,” they said. I blinked in surprise.
“What about it?” The fairy shook their head and pointed.
“Moon,” they repeated urgently.
I moved my light up and realized the wall behind the shelves was not a cave’s wall but a gray curtain. The fairy was pointing at it.
“Alright. I will look there. Please, try to take deep breaths.”
The cavern went further than I realized. Behind the curtain was another part of storage I would otherwise miss. More supplies, barrows, boxes, some very small cages, like for birds and rodents.
“What am I looking f-?” I began to ask and stopped myself because I saw. On the higher shelf standing another jar. It looked empty from down there, but I sat on my broom and levitated myself up. I picked it off carefully and held it in both hands. Inside-
I was wiser than to falter and fall off the broom but only barely. Another fairy??
This one was blue, with clothes in a star pattern. They didn’t have petals, but there was a hat on their head. A soft-looking nightcap, trimmed with white down. Half of their face was light, almost white part in the shape of the crescent, the rest was deep blue. The constellation of freckles sprinkled across their nose and cheeks correspond to those on the yellow fairy’s face. The fairy had deep dark circles around their eyes. That had to be “Moon”.
But something was wrong. The little figure was lying on the bottom of the jar, and didn't react when I moved their jar. I felt the cold panic rising. I lowered to the ground, and hurried out. The yellow fairy was waiting where I left them. They brightened, like a sunrise when I stormed back out.
“Brother?” they asked, looking at the jar. When I came closer the relief on their face fastly shifted into horror.
I put the jar gently on the ground. Did those fuckers forgot to make holes in this one entirely?!
No, the holes were there although less of them. I opened it with shaky hands, reached in and carefully pulled the fairy out. He was just the size to fit on my opened palm.
I turned him to his back and lowered him so the yellow fairy could have access as well. They immediately crawled on my palm, forgetting about their fear of me, and kneeled by their brother’s side.
I craned down and held my breath. Was I too late? Please, spirits, don’t let me be late.
I wasn’t.
We could both see movements of the tiny chest. Slow, shallow breaths.
“He is alive!” cried the yellow fairy. I let out a sigh. Thank you spirits!
The fairy took their brother in their arms and hugged him.
“But he is so weak!” They weren't wrong. It could be just fear that I felt, but the blue fairy looked like he was about to die at any moment.
“How long has he been unconscious?” I asked.
“He was still awake when I saw him last time. The jar fell off the shelf, I rolled off, and lost sight of him. The floor was uneven, it got stuck on something and I couldn’t… couldn't…” they looked like they were about to cry.
“When was it?”
“Yesterday… morning?”
“I will use some healing magic on him. It should help some, regardless of what is wrong.”
“Magic?” They looked at me in fear. “Are you a mage?”
“No. I am not.” I rubbed my fingers together, mentally preparing for the task.
“Let me access him, allright? And be still for a moment. This requires concentration and balance.”
I put two on the blue faerie’s chest. His sibling didn’t try to stop me. I breathed deeply and focused on the life energy inside me. I told it to flow down my arm through my fingers, and connect to the magic of the blue fairy. My fingertips started to glow. Moon tensed under my touch.
“What’s happening?” gasped the yellow fairy.
“He fights me,” I said. “Even though he is unconscious.”
He was no doubt a creature born to magic, as he was able to sense my intervention and tried to push me away. I bit my lip trying to stay calm. I didn’t want to force my way through the fairy's natural defenses. It would cause him distress and exhaust him further but I was starting to feel tired myself.
“Please, don’t fight me, please, don’t fight me,” I mumbled, pressing my energy gently against his. For a moment I thought it would be all for nothing. But then a small yellow hand lay down on mine. It felt good.
Maybe it was his sibling's familiar aura that made Moon lower his guard, or maybe it was me regaining some sort of peace for a moment, but I could feel the resistance fading and my magic was able to flow. The fairy relaxed under my touch.
When I finished, Moon was breathing easier. His face gained some more color, and dark circles around his eyes faded slightly.
The yellow fairy hugged their brother tighter.
“Th- thank you. But… Are you really not a mage? I thought they are the only humans that can use magic?”
“I’m a witch. Do you see a hat?” I pointed at my head. “Haven't you ever heard about us?”
They shook their head.
“Well, I guess there are not too many witches around really.” I signed.
“I’m… My name is Sun.”
“And he is Moon?”
“Yes. We are twin brothers.”
“Nice to meet you Sun, I’m-” I turned my head as I heard some groaning outside. The bandits were waking up. I couldn’t exactly fight all six of them.
“... going to introduce myself later. We need to go.”
“Go?”
“I need to take you out of here, quick.” I began to empty one of my bigger pockets. Witch’s clothes have many of them as a principle.
“We will go to my hutt. It’s a safe place. You two will be able to rest and recover.”
“I don’t know. I think Moon would-”
“Okay, done. You should both be able to fit in here.” I carefully picked Sun and plucked him into the pocket. Then I passed him the blue fairy. “Here. Hold him, when we’ll fly, watch if he lays in a good position.”
“A-alright.” Only Sun’s head was poking out of the pocket. Moon layed secured in his arms. “Wait, fly? You can fly too?!”
I sat on my broomstick. The celestial magic from the crystal flew through the wood. My clothes fluttered in the nonexistent wind, as we raised into the air. Sun gasped loudly and I couldn’t help but smile. Who does not like to show off sometimes?
I squeezed the stick tighter and we leaped forward. “Wooaaahh!” shouted Sun.
We flew out just in time to see the poachers that were waking up and scrambling on their feet. The broom flinched and wobbled as I was trying not to crash with them.
I grit my teeth and jerked the end of the broom upward, pointing it at the sky, accelerating. Some of the more awakened bandits started to shout at us and look around for their crossbows. But before they could begin to shoot, and we flew out of the sinkhole.
We weren’t ascending fast enough and pierced into the tree line. Now both me and Sun were screaming.
Somehow I avoided hitting any bigger branches. We soon bursted out above the treetops, like a fish jumping above the green waters.
I was finally able to flatten out and calm down.
The wind was hitting my face. The last shines of sunset dyed the clouds in pinks and oranges.
“You alright down there?” I asked, looking down.
“Yes, yes. We are okay.” breathed Sun. “That was so fast!” Fortunately he seemed more excited than scared.
“You guys don’t usually fly this fast, huh?” I grinned.
“No. Usually not,” he gave me a warm smile in return. He was still looking tired and sick, but maybe soon I would be able to fix that. I set a course for home.
