what are the chances of me saying that the moment I book my tickets to Italy I’ll get offered a film job - and then me getting a film job less than 48hrs later??? I was literally sitting down to book my flights and a designer I worked on Downton Abbey with texts me asking if I can start a new job in a week and a half As soon as I have my end dates for this film I’m booking two weeks in Italy no questions MC will probably have her next big project rolling by then and I don't want to miss out on that I’m going to cry

I went for a New Years day swim at my local beach this morning, a yearly tradition with friends. A very refreshing start to the year (bit colder in the UK than when I did it in NZ!) I spent quite a bit of time on my journal today, looking forward to sharing this years adventures with you all🌼 Happy new year, wishing you all the best~

12/10/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 19/100 Laundry, dissertation reading, friends birthday drinks.
13/10/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 20/100
Somewhat lazy day today, morning trip to M Courts for cording. I thought this would be an easy quite trip but was wrong.. oh so wrong. An NFL game was happening so there were fans everywhere on all the transport I was taking, it was super overcrowded and ahhhhhhh But I made it home with my 100 meter roll of size 1 cording safe and sound. Totally caught a cold and I’m blaming the Northern Line. 14/10/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 21/100 Dissertation tutorial in the morning, still not sure if it was helpful or not.. In the afternoon I flatlined all of the taffeta bodices pieces to the lining. The same was done to the sleeve but additional information was transferred that correspond with the smocking layout. I was uber sick after finishing this and went home for an early night. 15/10/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 22/100 In the morning I graded out the smocking onto the lining, this took a ridiculous amount of time due to the small (8mm) thickness that the smocking is sized to. In the afternoon I was able to start smocking the sleeve using the silk thread, I spent roughly five hours on it today and got seven rows of smocking sewn, the only reason I stopped was because my hands were getting clammy and was having difficulty pulling the needle through. My tutor came over to check on my progress today and said she was extremely pleased with my progress and work thus far. I think I’m the only student cutting/working top fabrics right now so I’m kind of the favourite child right now. *Pictured is my finished toile, the skirt length is shortened as to not waste fabric and unfortunately I was dumb and didn't put the vandyke on the left side so it badly visible in the picture. The pattern is taken directly from an original dress so it does not fit the stand it is on, the pattern cutting on the bodice is a little weird buuuuut I’ve made it up as instructed by the comp guidelines so heyho

16/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 52/100 Uni on a Saturday!! Skirt lining fabric cut out and I took apart one of the sleeve cuffs to reassemble as I wasn't happy with how it looked previously.  17/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 53/100 Grocery shopping after sleeping in and then I went back to bed. My uni days have been 9;30am-8;30pm I’m exhausted at weekends okay!! 18/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 54/100 You know you go to art school when you have a cabaret performance scheduled in. Spent all day backstitching the skirt lining pieces together, much faster at back stitching now!! Just three seams left for tomorrow. 19/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 55/100 Finished sewing skirt lining seams and marked out all of the construction lines in a contrasting thread. Sleeve cuff reassembled using my preferred method, much happier! *pictured is one of the skirt lining seams showing off both sides of the back stitch and the sleeve cuff right before I whipped it into place

last week of term overall I feel pretty good, I’ve kicked expectations to the wall and hand sewn an entire dress in a very short space of time and my dissertation draft result was pretty good all things considered tomorrow we pick designs for our next unit, im ready to fight for the design I want, hoping for a positive update on that side note, I’ve decided to learn Russian, im not calling this a langblr (yet) but in the new year I’d like to try and fill out some of my bullet journal in Russian to help keep my practice up looking forward to the holidays

days of productivity catch upppppp
uni has been kicking my ass (I've got everything together, im on track of all my projects, life is great I've just been too excused to type this out and kept putting it off and then there were more days and ahhhhh) But im back (again) now /mildly more sarcastic than my other posts/ 2/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 40/100 Kingston strip in the morning, bought some stripy fabric for the tech skills victorian bodice (yay pattern matching), for the rest of the day I slaved on my dissertation 3/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 41/100 Dissertation all day, submitted my draft paper that evening after reaching my word count goal.  s l e e p 4/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 42/100 I finished sewing all of my (silk) skirt panels together today!! Serious back pain recovery needed, send help. I also finished sewing up the second of the two sleeves. One to one tutorial with my course director in the evening which went fantastic, this man was singing my praise and I just felt really hecking good about life after that chat 5/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 43/100 In the dye room again today (didn't pass out this time, its the small personal achievement we celebrate on this blog). I dyed some tutu net, it was miserable, I dyed some muslin it was wholesome and good. Starched the muslin using hat stiffener, imagine painting fabric with pva glue, that was my experience. I also inserted the plackets into the sleeves today which was very straight forward unlike modern plackets which do my head in.  6/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 44/100 Got some pattern matching done today but not a lot because I was seriously over thinking the process. Basted out the vandyke and sleeve band to the tasty dyed and starched muslin I prepared earlier. I cut a load of bias tape for piping and binding.  7/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 45/100 My dumbass ignored my alarms and ended up leaving the house 15min before the drop in clinic opened, but in an unexpected turn of events ya girl made it on time. Got an injection at the clinic, the nurse told me to get checked for endometriosis so I booked a doctors appointment for the afternoon and got to talk to a male doctor about my periods. It was great, we shared a few laughs, very nice man. 8/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 46/100 Tech skills today, I caught up on the work I’d been procrastinating (read prioritising) I’m hand sewing an entire damn dress I ain’t got time for no machine sewing. I finished sewing the piping to one of the vandykes and it looks delicious.  I also got some very positive feedback on my dissertation draft “evident of your thorough research” THANKS DAVID I PULLED THAT OUT MY ARSE IN THREE WEEKS XOXO 9/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 47/100 I got up to do my laundry, sat in bed eating fruit while watching the BBCs Merlin and then went back to bed.  10/11/19 | 100 Days of Productivity Day 46/100 I went to the Victoria and Albert Museum and saw David, not David who marked my dissertation but tall naked David - Its my V&A ritual, I must see David, its not a trip without him. Went to the Tim Walker exhibition, not my taste. Bought some postcards because I’m a slut for hoarding postcards, ONE of which features the dumb 1869 magenta dress I want o make for my personal choice costume so I am taking that as a sign from the gods that I am to make that dress.

hello, quick update just to say im alive I will be participating the November studyblr challenge (late I know) and continuing 100 days of productivity The last few days have been hectic with my dissertation draft hand in (today) and I also had a one to one meeting with my course director (scary). Handed in my dissertation well on time and my one to one meeting was FANTASTIC like wow  He walks up to me and says “WE’LL YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTE WORK FORCE AREN’T YOU” and continues to shower me in the most honest praise I’ve ever received. He was throughly impressed with my work, skill level, time management and dedication to the project Im hand sewing an 1830/40s dress which is NOT recommended as a costume choice due to how time consuming and skill requiring it is  but hello ya girl is well on track to have this costume finished by the Christmas holidays  Regular posting will resume tomorrow, I’m in the dye room in the morning, fingers crossed I don't black out agin xoxo
