A poem I wrote in a moment of blind fury and utter heartbreak, Nex Benedict should still be alive.....

“Nex Benedict should still be alive,

Every youth deserves the chance to thrive,

Nex Benedict was bullied for defending their friends,

Bullies, who were mocking how they talk and laugh,

Why?

When will this callous cruelty end?

Bullies, in any sense, know no pretence,

Nex Benedict though and,

Any bullied non-binary student, any LGBTQIA+ youth, anyone I know,

Should be given the chance to grow!

It's absolutely sickening,

My pulse is quickening in rage,

That anyone is bullied, period,

For being themselves,

Just seems bewildering, strange!

It seems unfathomable to me,

Bullying people in regards to how they dress,

I'm not condoning Nex pushing the bully into a paper towel dispenser,

But I will say, they were under duress!

Nex Benedict should still be alive,

For,

Shouldn't all youth be allowed the chance to thrive?

Nex should still be cuddling their beloved cat, Zeus,

Every non binary youth should be able to live their own truth!

The fact that these bullies had previously targeted Nex and their friends?!

Surely something has got to give,

When will this madness end?

16 years, a life still so young,

Nex Benedict should still be alive,

They shouldn't have had to black out from punches swung!

Nex Benedict died, one day after the school attack,

Breathing shallow, eyes “kind of rolling back,”

Such travesty in this tragedy,

Of any non binary or transgender youth;

Any youth dying so young,

Dying at all,

Oh, how hearts have been wrung!

At yet another tragic loss,

Where's the accountability?

At what cost?

Nex had said “they didn't see the point of speaking to School Administration,”

For such bullying had happened before,

Where's the rumination?

He’s quick to getting used to using your pronouns it honestly isn’t that hard for him! But if he does mess up he’s quick to correct himself or others

If you get offended by someone he gets offended by someone, doesn’t matter what they said he won’t tolerate it

Buys you a little flag to hang up in your/your guys room! He’ll even help putting it up if you need some assistance!

He doesn’t want to make a big deal about it because in all honesty he just sees you as your normal human self, no pronouns can change that<3

He doesn’t understand why people get so up tight about it sometimes especially when they argue It’s to hard to use, it doesn’t make sense to him, it’s actually quite easy so he doesn’t see the trouble and why they have to be so dramatic like they’ve just been asked to do the most impossible thing in the world

Though if someone where to question it ( nicely) He’d gladly tell them the information you gave him or just pull you over and get you to explain (if your comfortable of course!)

If you check his search history it’s just filled with “how to make a non binary person comfortable” or something like that as well as the definition of non binary just incase so he gets all the information he needs to make sure your comfortable!

If you ever feel frustrated or sad at someone’s comment or a bad reaction someone gave to the news he’d pull you aside and talk with you to calm you down and explain that not everyone is gonna get your situation and though it sucks, there’s still plenty of people who care and understand! One of them being him! <3

Supportive but confused a bit so you definitely have to go into more detail! She’s just a bit confused

Once she understands she’s very supportive, and doesn’t see a problem in it really!

But she does take some time getting use to the new pronouns it might take a while but when she does mess up she is quick to corrects herself

She’d go ballistic if someone said some rude comment or even gave you a weird look, the next day the police would be at your door and the person is in the hospital. I think we all know what happened.

She knows it might be a bit hard for you to come out to some people but she incourges you too cause if they don’t answer well then they don’t deserve you or your time

If one of her “buddies” make fun of you this woman is gonna absolutely ruin them in anyway possible the poor woman/guy has to literally yell out for help cause of how hard she’s beating em-

She does try her hardest to make you comfortable as possible so if anything’s wrongs just tell her and she’d fix it immediately!

Honestly nothing much changes! She doesn’t really mind the change at least if it makes you happy!

Overall she’s super supportive! Anything you need you get and anyone that messes with you is getting punched- even computers and other items if that’s even possible

Man is quick to get your pronouns correct cause many of his class mates are the same so he doesn’t really mind and gets used to it rather quickly

Like his dad he would Oder you a flag but unlike his dad he would Oder the big ones you can hang up in your room you should be proud of who you are!

He and his brother heavy are like your personal bodyguards if someone insults you cause they both love you (heavy love is platonic so just friends or sibling type way just sayin so y’all don’t get the wrong picture cause Ik some of you are weird 🧍 and if you are please leave now.)

Anyway! Dee definitely show his support but isn’t really good at it, cause he ain’t the best at socializing honestly. But even if he can’t say it out loud in the best way he definitely shows it by the gift he makes/steals for you

Overall supper supportive and a bit protective- but he really does try his best to make you comfortable!

Grumpus’ can either have digitigrade legs or plantigrade legs. Grumpus’ with plantigrade legs act more like people, and Grumpus’ with digitigrade legs tend to have more animalistic tendencies. They don’t fully act like animals, but they do tend to have more animalistic actions (Idk if I explained that well ;-;)

Triffany has at least a little bit of medical knowledge. She doesn’t know how to help with a broken bone or severe injuries, but she knows how to bandage a wound.

Female Grumpus’ do have egg pouches. If a Grumpus is trans masc, they probably still have a pouch. If a Grumpus is trans fem, they probably don’t have a pouch. For nonbinary Grumpus’, it can vary. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.

I know you probably didn't think about it, but it's been really difficult for trans people over the last two days to be bombarded with "women" and "men" messages in regard to the abortion issue.

On top of being scared about everything related to abortion and same sex relationships rights, we are now seeing talks and quotes being shared by our families and friends about "women's rights" and "women's bodily autonomy" that completely ignore transmasc and non-binary people who have a uterus, as well as promoting the idea that all women can get pregnant, which is false.

So, if you could try not to boost messages that equate "can get pregnant" with "women", it'd be really appreciated ♥️

Be conscious of the vocabulary you use. Be conscious of the people you aren't including.

The people in my life always say "gay marriage is wrong, etc." Its not they're life, love who you want, be who you want. Don't let others tell you what gender to like, don't let others tell you what gender to be. Never be afraid to let others know who you are. You dont have to demonize people for what they want to be or are, just let them be!! Everyone deserves rights, gays deserve to get married, trans people deserve to be trans, EVERYONE deserve something, or someone. No matter if they identify as male, female or non-binary, if they like boys or girls!
