Life after college wasn’t anything extraordinary. You were just doing the same thing—except you’re working at a big girl job. You wake up, get ready, go to work, come back home, and repeat. It’s all the same.

“It was mainly my step-dad who kept setting me up on blind dates. I already told him all about you, but he insisted that I find someone else who could be more beneficial to the company. In other words, since I told him and my mom that I wanted to pursue music and that I didn’t see myself being in charge of his company in the future—who knew my mom ended up marrying some rich guy? He wanted me to be with someone who does know about dealing with business or whatever,” he sighs before continuing. “He told me to go on at least four dates—see if I end up liking any of them. I didn’t do anything with those women but sat in front of them while they just went on and talked away. I never developed any sort of feelings for any of them because all I wanted was you. How the fuck could I like any of those women if none of them are you? Was I not clear enough to my step-dad that I was crazy for you and still am?”
You felt your heart flutter again just from his words. You wanted to be mad at him like you were before but you just couldn’t. Yoongi carefully removes his arms from underneath you. He’s slowly pulling out from you, earning a whine from you from the empty feeling. He’s immediately pulling your thong back to its place, stopping any of his and your cum from leaking out. My only reason for that was because I wanted to find you. I don’t know how, but somehow the world was on my side and led me right back to you.”
You could feel your eyes become a little wet, tears threatening to fall out. The feeling of relief, embarrassment, guilt, and some sort of happiness overwhelmingly took over your body. But god—you felt like an idiot. Why did your first instinct have to be cutting things off without saying anything? I mean, it does make sense to do it in that sort of scenario. But it was still Yoongi—the man who’s only had eyes for you since the beginning. How could you easily listen to people instead of directly asking Yoongi to explain himself?!

The tears spill out, causing Yoongi to immediately detect it with his thumb on your cheek. He brings his other hand to the other side of your cheek, cupping your face.
“I—I’m so sorry, Yoongi,” you mumble, closing your eyes, “I’m such an asshole for just leaving you like that.”
“It’s okay, baby. Although I’m upset that we lost some time together, you could give me a half-assed apology and I’d still accept it in a heartbeat.” He hums, thumbs brushing the tears away, “I’m expecting you to make up for all of it though.”
You open your eyes to take a look at him, only to see that his eyes never left you. He’s wiggling his eyebrows a bit, puckering his lips for a second to give you hints on how he wants you to make things up to him. You roll your eyes, giggling softly at this man. He removes his hands from your face and places them on your waist to help you sit up, stopping that awkward position you were both in. Yoongi helps smooth down your hair with the palm of his hands, bringing his hands back to hold your waist. You’re quick to push him away, crossing your arms in front of your chest. He’s looking at you with confusion written all over his face.
“You know—I think you should also compensate for my all the pain I went through too. You could start by showing me what’s underneath your sleeve.”
Yoongi chuckles, a lazy smirk on his face when he realizes what you wanted. He’s unbuttoning his white top, eyes fixed on you. You couldn’t help but switch between looking at him in the eyes and looking at his large hands. He’s sliding off his top, holding the fabric all scrunched up in his hand. You look at his skin with big eyes, a small gasp escaping your mouth. Your hands immediately go to his right arm, fingertips softly tracing the lines all over his skin.
“What? Don’t like it?” He hums, smiling at the way you looked so amazed by his tattooed arm.
“I think I’m in trouble because if other girls in the office find out about you having a sleeve, they’ll all try to steal you away from me,” you joked. He laughs, shaking his head as he turns around, revealing his whole back—probably the largest piece of art he had on his body.
“Gosh, Yoongi—this is absolutely beautiful.” Your fingers glide across his skin, gently tickling him. His arms and back were somewhat muscular and fairly toned—an indication that he’s definitely been working out more often. No wonder why he’s even more good looking than before.
“Wouldn’t it be even prettier if it had your scratch marks on there?”
You lightly smack him on the back at his comment, scoffing at him. He’s laughing, turning around as he puts on his button-up again. Yoongi rests his hands on your thighs, gripping them slightly.
“As for you,” he hums, “I’ve got something in mind that can make up for everything.” He leans his head closer to yours, making his way to steal a kiss. You block him again by covering his mouth.
You clear your throat, looking at him with innocent eyes. “Mr. Min, I’ve got to go back and finish up all the work you’ve assigned to me. I think it’s about time that I take my leave.”
He rolls his eyes, pulling back away from you just to dig into the back of pocket and take his phone out. He’s dialing a number and putting the phone to his ear before mumbling ‘one second’ to you.
“Hoseok, cancel and reschedule all meetings and plans I have today. Something important came up and I’d like to put all my focus on it for today. Also, please place y/n on leave for today. She expressed how exhausted she is as I’ve been overworking her. I’d like for her to get some rest for today and that we stop giving her the extra work that I’ve been assigning her. Thank you.”
He’s already shoving his phone back into his pocket, his eyes going straight back to yours. You look at him with a raised eyebrow, clicking your tongue and slightly shaking your head at his actions.
“Mr. Min, I don’t think you should be abusing your powers like that.”
Yoongi laughs lowly, amused with the way you were teasing with him like that.
“You know I don’t like you calling me that, right baby?” He hums, bringing a hand up to twirl a piece of your hair around his finger. “I want to focus on you today and make up for all the years we lost together. And I’ve got a couple of things in mind that we can do.”
“Pffft—can’t believe you, Yoongi.”
He smiles at you, cupping your face with his hands again.
“I’m in love with you, you know that?”
“It seems pretty clear to me.” He’s leaning in to press a soft kiss on your lips, you giggle against his lips during the process. Yoongi pulls away, looking at you with a face that’s waiting for certain words to come out of your mouth. You roll your eyes with a smile on your face, placing a hand on top of his and squeezing it gently. “I still love you and have always loved you, Yoongi.”
Yoongi smiles cheekily, the ends of his mouth reaching his ears. He was ecstatic to hear you say that to him, it’s all he’s been wanting to hear after all these years.
“Now that’s settled, I’d like to continue what we were doing here at my apartment.”
“Shouldn’t you be taking me on a date first? I mean technically we just started dating.”
He scoffs, “I’ll take you on all the dates you want, baby. But right now, all I want is you. I need more of you.”
Yoongi was desperate for another round, maybe even a couple more. You could tell that he was hungry for you just by the way he was looking at you. Once you accept his offer you already know that you’re in for it—you’re definitely going to be in lots of trouble.

note: this was originally written on aug 10 2022, and is unfinished. it's a lore dump about the egghogs' chaos energy powers with diagrams for silver's markings and how they develop. the rest of this post has been left untouched. please enjoy!

egghog silver's markings, how they differ from my interpretation of canon silver's markings, and a brotherly superpower synergy infodump below the cut!
OK. SO.
what are silver's markings in the first place? are they aesthetic or do they serve a function?
in the egghog canon (an au where sonic, shadow, and silver were raised by eggman), they do have an actual biological purpose; they're organic chaos energy reserves. organic chaos energy is a subcategory of all chaos energy that is produced by organic beings, but is fundamentally different than "normal" energy as we know it, tending to cause physical anomalies if it's present in large amounts.
silver's markings are essentially canals of energy running through his skin and fur like he's a walking venice (lore joke intended); they're enclosed and are tough to actually "break" or rupture compared to normal skin. they're veins but fucked up and magic.
silver was naturally born with a lot of organic chaos energy, and anomalous powers resulted. they developed in conjunction with other fine motor skills, and were just as shaky to start. he needs a lot of practice if he wants to pick up objects larger than marbles. that practice comes naturally with time and experience, and canon silver has had an excess of both, considering his extraordinary circumstances. he's needed to push himself and develop his powers, but hasn't regularly pushed himself and powers past what he can't handle, needing to conserve energy and keep himself alert/prepared for another attack.
silver robotnik grew up in a much different situation.

he was the last to be adopted, and despite having the second-most naturally generated chaos energy of the bunch, his powers seemed to have a lot of potential. combined with the sheer power of his brothers, eggman could easily see him dominating the battlefield with a wave of a hand.
shadow can tap into the chaos force to generate attacks, but he doesn't self-generate a whole lot of energy. sonic self-generates an extreme excess of chaos energy, which gives him super speed, perception, and endurance, but he can't control the energy itself or where it goes. silver is somewhat physically frail and slow, but he makes up for it by having an innate control over the chaos forces in and around objects.
he and shadow share the ability of controlling chaos in some way; shadow can use it to create external attacks made of energy (chaos blast, chaos spear), but the control he has over these attacks once they are unleashed/thrown is limited to none. silver can manipulate objects, but can't use his own powers to create complex shapes or attacks from ESP alone; he can use limited attacks to blow elements or energy away (his intro cutscene in sonic 06), but they're weak and dissipate quickly. i bet you can kind of see where i'm going with this. it's where eggman's train of thought quickly headed.
when deployed as a team, shadow and silver are extremely difficult to deal with. silver can precisely redirect chaos spears to their targets, magnify the energy output from a chaos blast, and prolong/intensify the affects of shadow's chaos control due to silver's strange affinity for time manipulation, all with minimal mental fatigue. silver can also give shadow access to his energy reserves through touch (typically holding hands), resulting in exponentially deadlier attacks.

silver or sonic can also hold shadow's hand to help him teleport large objects or other people with their shared energy. it's typically used for transporting
silver and sonic have similar synergy,
shadow can also boost sonic with chaos energy boodle doodle doodle
with the brothers all together, shadow can funnel sonic's chaos energy directly into silver (or vice versa). (INSERT DETAILS OF WHAT THAT DOES HERE) none of their bodies can withstand that amount of shared power or the severe energy drain (without a chaos emerald) so it has to be used very sparingly. they only overclock themselves like this for an extended time if their father orders them to or in extremely dire situations with no other options.
p.s. sonic's efficacy in battle is severely worsened after silver and shadow leave. the drain on eggman's trust combined with his more restrained uses something something extends his isolation and makes everything worse

Day 3 prompt: Culture (ethnicity or a certain aspect of it)
A conceptgender term related to the concept of Sisu for gender reasons. This concept is quite a well known aspect of the Finnish culture and known thing about Finns especially within our history (and fun fact, it had been studied at some point even because it wasn't understood as a concept by others outside Finland), it is often spoken as something that is integral to understanding my culture.
Sisu as a concept is a lot of things squeezed into one and it doesn't have only one way of definition to it as every finn has their own understanding of it and so does the outside world have their own understanding of it. However it's meaning can be broken down to extraordinary determination in the face of extreme adversity, and courage that is presented typically in situations where success is unlikely. It expresses an action taken against odds, and displays courage and resoluteness in the face of adversity; in other words, deciding on a course of action, and then adhering to it even if repeated failures ensue.
It is a concept related to going beyond one's mental or physical capacity even when there is a big change of failure in all simple terms.
One could compare Sisu to equanimity (even if it, more or less, entails an element of stress management more than equanimity, it is still comparable). and it could be compared to the metaphor grit in English yet still not grasp the exact same concept as what Sisu is to us. The concept of Sisu has over time also turned to be a trait and it's inherently neutral in nature (and be used in both positive and negative context).

Life Update
I have been terrible about keeping this thing updated. To say that I have a lot going on is an understatement, but I’m going to do better at making it a priority. Same with YouTube.
Obviously, I’m training for both Ironman Waco and Waco 70.3. That, it itself, is quite the task. But I’m not making it my entire life. I’m not so methodical about my training that I don’t enjoy it. I’m going purely on instinct. For example, I ran 21 miles over 3 runs on Tuesday. Then I ran 21 miles straight on Thursday to honor the 21 deaths in Uvalde.
As my exposure and profile continue to grow, I am regularly being invited to be a guest on multiple podcasts. I’ve been on 5 over the last 2 weeks that are being released. These are cool because they allow me to get my story out and encourage others to just get started on whatever it is that may be calling them.
This has also led to multiple speaking engagements, something I’m very excited about. I’ve long wanted to be a public speaker, but never knew how to actually get started. I’ll be talking more about this in coming weeks, but these opportunities are extremely exciting for me.
I’ve also completely walked away from my corporate job and am now coaching full-time. This is something that I’m the most excited about - it feels good to be doing my own thing and helping people in a very tangible way.
This has been great as I already have a deep roster of clients. Things have changed so much over the last few years and the possibilities are endless. My clients range from athletes looking to improve, first time triathletes and of course, normal individuals looking to make extraordinary changes. Goodness Suze… . You either love her, scorn her or can't handle her. In truth, a lot of her suggestions is extraordinary stuff. However, some of it is faltering tense, and some guidance is absolutely horrendous. Despite the fact that I examined a piece of her suggestion, I respected what she's had the choice to do in showing the greater part. That was quickly thrown out after she shipped off her pre-stacked check card program that created brief investigation. I am always on some level thinking about Lan Sizhui’s trauma, and this was only compounded for me on this rewatch, because I’d forgotten just how absolutely abysmal Wei Wuxian’s mental health is during the burial mounds farming commune stretch of the show. Just extraordinary emotionally volatile, prone to angry outbursts, and with the capacity to drop from soaring enthusiasm to plunging despair at the drop of a hat. And they’re all living in such close quarters that his erratic moods and unacknowledged trauma that he’s stewing in just kind of spills over into the overall environment.
And certainly Wei Wuxian is great with a-Yuan, and is a positive influence for him in many ways! But none of them are living in an optimal environment - they’re struggling to get by, and frequently short on food - and Wei Wuxian in particular has an entire festering host of Issues that the current situation is only exacerbating. He’s living in a place that traumatized him, and to some extent he feels trapped there - he chose to help the Wens, but now that he’s made that decision, there’s no going back, and he explicitly knows he has no other options at this point. He misses his family and Lan Zhan. He’s practicing a brand of magic that is wreaking havoc on his temperament and eating him from the inside, and he’s gone through a voluntary but nonetheless pretty traumatizing kind of body modification. He can’t be expected to function at his best, or do as right by the people in his life as he could if he were in a healthier place.
So of course a-Yuan is affected by this! He can tell that one of his favourite people is frequently stressed, that his moods are easily ruined by little interferences, and that he’s sad for reasons that are hard for a little kid to comprehend. a-Yuan gets yelled at for uprooting a lotus plant by accident - and sees Wei Wuxian, rather than try to replant it, declare the venture hopeless (you have to be careful what you do, all the time, because he’s always hovering over a pit of despair and any little thing could flip the switch!). a-Yuan witnesses Wei Wuxian become physically violent towards Wen Ning after the JZX stabbing fiasco. Sharing an environment with someone who does not have access to the kind of coping mechanisms they need - and compounded with the fact that a-Yuan has already gone through a considerable amount of trauma due to being a war crime survivor at an incredibly young age - is it really any wonder that teen Sizhui has so many people pleasing impulses? Is so accommodating and acquiescent and pacifying, so inclined to mediate and de-escalate? I see people saying that it’s a wonder that Sizhui turned out so well compared to everyone else, but imo the way he turned out makes complete sense, and I don’t think that his interpersonal behaviour is entirely healthy either.
For me, what exemplifies it the most is this little exchange when they’re at the restaurant with Lan Wangji:
Wei Wuxian gets upset when the topic of Jin Zixuan comes up and slams his jug on the table in a sudden burst of anger; a-Yuan reaches out and gently puts his hand on his arm. It’s a very sweet gesture, but in in the context of everything else, there’s also something unnerving about it to me, in the sense that this toddler really seems to have internalized that it’s his responsibility to manage the emotions of his caregiver.
Aaaand what do we seem him do, in episode 2, as a teenager? Once again feeling responsible for managing the emotions of people older than he is; jumping in to bail Lan Wangji out of his extremely petty vow of silence by engaging in diplomacy for him and defusing a conflict based on a grudge that he doesn’t have the context for.
And I think that his relationship with Lan Wangji also compounded these same issues for him. When Lan Wangji comes out of seclusion and starts being a major figure in Sizhui’s life, he’s still pretty freshly grieving. Sizhui is likely one of the few bright spots in his life, and I’m betting Sizhui picked up on that, if perhaps only subconsciously, and developed a deeply protective impulse towards Hanguang-jun. Once again, feeling responsible for managing an adult caregiver’s mood. And again, of course Lan Wangji had plenty of positive impacts on Sizhui, and was overall a force for good in his life. But both Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have their own baggage that they’re not super great at coping with, and that has an unavoidable impact on Sizhui’s development as well.
