I’m sad that Norma and Badyah didn’t end up together but I feel like an important part of Dead End: Paranormal Park is embodying queer coming of age experiences and if there’s one thing that qualifies as a queer coming of age experience, it’s a girl falling in love with their heterosexual best friend

Can I just say that spooky bisexual characters are such a mood?

When I say spooky bisexual characters, I'm talking about these two:

The demon nerd and the witch. (Spooky)

Like they're very relatable to a lot of people too. Mostly with neurodivergence as Norma is confirmed autistic and Luz is ADHD coded.

They also have hyperfixations that people find relatable (Norma with everything Pauline Phoenix and the park and Luz with The Good Witch Azura).

(I personally relate way more with Norma, but I relate to Luz a tiny bit too)

Point is, these characters are amazing and have been doing the lord's work for bisexual people.

I also adore how they both have different types of coming out scenes with Norma's being more laid back and Luz's being more fun and showy.

One more thing, I also like how both of their coming out scenes are so wholesome and both of their mothers accept them for who they are. Not only that, but to see POC mothers accept their queer daughters on TV is such a pleasure to see.

I just love these two episodes and their bi representation, and to see bisexual characters just... exist and be themselves is so refreshing to see.

They bring me so much joy and I just had to share my thoughts about these two bisexual characters and the strides they're making for more bi or just openly queer characters.

Also, we need more spooky neurodivergent bisexuals.

What really sucks about Dual Destinies is it almost had a core emotional theme about listening to people who struggle to communicate or even process events that happened, but because Athena wasn’t allowed to be the main character that was never allowed to be realized.

We’d go so far as to say DD completely gutted itself because the actual main character is treated like an assistant instead of the protag. It’s also probably why Athena reads poorly by “outing people”. She’s barely given the time of day to do anything but that, and all times she actually helps someone process trauma or their own condition she’s quickly shoved back to the sidelines.

Like we’re gonna craft an immediate thought: the whale from the whale case. Obviously people struggle to identify what it’s feeling because, it’s a fucking whale. But Athena’s special sauce is she can sense emotions no matter who they’re coming from. Imagine if that case played out where Athena won the day by trying to listen to it as closely as possible.

Some Design Tweaks I did recently of the Shipshape Aquarium cast -- from Incredibly minor, to fairly Significant outfit changes 🐟 (These are just my first Concepts, so I may go back and Change things in the Future . I mean, I had no reason to draw Jack Shipley before this LMAO . Will do the Other cases Sometime in the future Most Likely . Sorry that the Image Quality sucks BTW)

Notes are under the Cut for Those who Are Interested:

(All the Aquarium Workers have a similar Blue in their outfits to Tie them together) - Used more Blue in Sasha's design to make it more Aquatic - Has a one piece Bathing suit instead of a Bikini so it can be seen Behind her clothes - Instead of a Skull there is a Devious Orca on the Pirate Hat - Made her shirt Long Sleeved to look more Pirate Like - Vaguely Star-shaped Rip on the Top Left of Sasha's shirt, instead of a Star Print - Gave Sasha a Missing Tooth because. I dunno I just think it Fits her

- Made Marlon's baggy pants into Overalls for that Animal Caretaker Vibe - Gave him a big Belt and a thing to hold his Spyglass on said belt - His earrings are now Fishhooks because . I dunno, Aquarium . - no I didn't forget Marlon's Plaque thing, it's missing ... On Purpose! (Lore) - The Hat is from the Photo of him and Summers (I just liked it Better) - His hair is down like in his Pirate Transformation, because I can - Has those circle Shark bite things? On his arms

- Dr Crab's shirt is only Halfway tucked in like in his Concept art - I assumed he had pockets to stick his Tie into? either way They're there now - And the Grape Pants . Listen . They enhance his outfit Okay . I Had To

- Literally Only changed Deplume's Lipstick to bronze and made her Heels white

- Azura's shirt is No Longer form fitted around her boobs . Because That's Ridiculous - Now Short Sleeved to still keep in contrast with Sasha's shirt - The sash is Blue to keep with the Trend (plus, it looks better than Ourple IMO) - Her Charm is now the same Chain Necklace thing as around Marlon's neck - Charm is on her hip because there was Blank space and Nowhere better to put it - (Might not keep the Charm as a Generic Square but it's just that way For Now) - She has Freckles because I thought it gave off that Sunkissed Pirate look

- Shipley has the Same blue sash as Azura (Just Victim Things) - Made his main coat Blue because the Purple wasn't working . Again - (Kept the Ourple for his Redstache outfit though) - Bandages are now Also on his hands and Aren't offwhite Anymore - Both outfits have the Red Scarf now . No More Edgeworth Cravat 🚫

That's all the changes that I can think of that I made, so uh . Yeah 👍 (Also this isn't me saying I "fixed" them, I Just did this for Fun, and to Also help Differentiate my version of the AA5 Cast from Canon 👻)
