#Sometimes people just assume the worst about you #and stick with that assumption so firmly there's seldom anything you can do to change their mind #Personal #I ramble in the tags a bit and it's trite pseudo-philosophical bullshit so skip please #It's sad that this happens but to a certain extent I understand? #Like you've been hurt and shunned so many times you come to treat it as a standard #So when someone approaches you and disagrees/doesn't immediately agree with everything you say your mind frames them as the 'enemy' #The 'exclusionist' with so many 'red flags' #Not that there aren't exclusionists with red flags running amok #But every person? Every argument? #This isn't solely about that catboy person this is something I feel applies to myself too #How do we suss out people's intentions? Do intentions even matter in the larger context? What even is a 'good faith' argument? #It just makes me so sad that we live in a society that makes it necessary for us or at least ingrains into us #the need to go over each and every word (ours and others') each and every interaction with a fine-tooth comb #It's exhausting and draining #No wonder people are isolating themselves more and more it is a sign of the times #This was brought on because I 'had to' go through that person's blog #and I did understand a bit about where they are coming from (it definitely added some much-needed context) #but mostly it was very 'recognition of self through the other' #God help us all
