Sorry I’m thinking abt animation now. SIGHS. Is there ever going to be a show as pretty as kyhoe again….. I absolutely love anime that feels like a comic book with that really snappy movement and over the top expressions. The nichijou anime and the first two seasons of mp100 were like that for me as well. I know it won’t happen but I’m hoping against hope the scott pilgrim anime is similar

i really related to asakusa a lot especially when i first watched kyhoe so it’s really weird to come back and revisit it now that i feel so much older than her… this is why i am making her apply to art school in my mind.

Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken Episode 2 review!
It continues to be a perfect show with the most relatable characters I’ve ever seen.
The whole scene when their imaginings for what they are going to do with the place is animated hypes me up so much.
If I had seen this show as a child I would have lost my mind, because it’s all stuff I would have thought about too and seeing it animated is just incredibly delightful.
I love that all of the sound effects from the animation sequences are just Asakusa making noises. All of their inventions are really great as well. The notes on the little creatures they’ve included in the imagination sequences is also a great detail.
Just three friends who are girls supporting each other and collaborating practically on an endeavor.
I feel like a lot of shows when girls are seen working together on something practical, there’s something a bit forced and condescending about it, like it’s trying specifically to sell itself as something inspiring.
Here the girls are taken seriously as collaborators. It’s just a show about animation and the main characters happen to be girls, it’s refreshing.
Kanamori continues to be G, calling her best girl is a disservice as she is just the best.
Asakusa is the one I relate to the most though for SURE. Everything about her. Spending all of her money on a military backpack: highly relatable.
My favorite thing is the way she engineers her concepts to make sure that her fiction has a weight of reality. I just love how she world builds, it’s another thing about this show that makes me incredibly hyped.
That and her and Mizusaki collaborating, it’s so good. That and Kanamori taking their ideas and making them practical, it’s so, so good.
They are talking about the eizouken now but I still don’t know what that is.
I’ve tried looking looking it up, but I haven’t found anything.
On an unrelated note, what is with milk as a reoccurring prominent drink in anime?
MP100, Fullmetal Alchemist, and now KYHOE?
Have I mentioned that I love the voice acting on this show? The voices for the girls are actually diverse and normal. In a lot of anime most of the girls have these high-pitched “cutesy” voices and it drives me crazy.  It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just some of the girls, but it tends to be a lot of them.
It’s so educational too, about the whole animation process.  The part where they’re figuring out how to animate the windmill is really great.
I’d argue that this anime isn’t just a good illustration of how the animation process works, but a great illustration about how collaborating well with people feels and works generally.
I’m overusing good and great and really and terrific and amazing, but I just love this anime so much.

kyhoe is over =(
I watched the ending, and I don’t know if theres much I can say that hasn’t already been said. it was a perfect ending imo, and I wish for more. also may have cried a little on that final pan just because of how pretty it was. However what I will say is this
Don’t let the flame die out!
If ur sad the show is over, take the time to keep the fandom alive!!! Make theories, head canons, fic, art, podfic, fandubs, edits, amv’s, meme and vine and tiktok comps, and all that wonderful stuff! Just because the show is over doesn't mean we have to stop making content for it. and if u can’t/don’t want to *make* content, try looking at other fans work!
The show is over, but I think there’s enough fans here to really thrive. So if you want more Eizouken content, let’s all go make some!!! I really wanna see what you guys can do!
and if now that the shows over you want to move on to different things: thats cool too.
but thanks to all the amazing Eizouken staff and the fans for sharing this show with me. I had a great time.

I was able to nab CSP EX during the summer sale and now the two gifs I made back in February (released here in March, huh!) are in the format I envisioned them to be!
I’m excited to stumble through more animations now that I can have longer clips! I have a lot of stuff to improve on and I hope to one day have a big clip to show!
-----------------------
The idea is ultimately boiled down to: “Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!” inspired me with every episode!
If you love animation, KYHoE it’s a must watch! It’s available on VRV and Crunchyroll!

Keep Your Hands Off Community!
Tumblr media
Two’s company. Three’s a community.
That much is apparent in Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, which begins with a twosome—Asakusa and Kanamori—adding a third member, Mizusaki. The creation of this group suddenly coalesces a loose set of dreams without a plan or goal into a determined creative force under the banner of Eizouken (film research club), which takes on and accomplishes the monumental task of creating a quality anime short.
The three girls in the series resemble a teenage otaku version of the Beatles. They are brimming with talent, each brilliant in their own ways. Asakusa is the dreamer with a mind that bursts forth into creative direction and storytelling. Kanamori is the administrator, keeping the girls on schedule and in line, thinking of the big picture and slyly enacting financial plans. Mizusaki is the artist, able to conceptualize vision to output. On their own, they are talent wasted; together, the girls create something quite extraordinary, cool stuff beyond what inexperienced 15-year-olds should be able to accomplish.

That, of course, is the value of good teamwork. In every corner of the globe, consulting firms are trying to tap into the richness of this almost intangible quality, guaranteeing that their techniques will build your team and ultimately your profit margin. As they target organizations, authors look address individuals as their audience, developing an endless supply of books about the topic. Even the most distributed book of all time, the Bible, demonstrates the value of team. Though they are inspired, filled, and empowered by the Holy Spirit (How many businesses can say the same?), there’s no doubt that the apostles also accomplished much by working as a team. Paul is graciously brought into the supportive group (after a period of trust-building) and transforms from a highly talented and educated Christian jailer to the greatest Christian this side of Jesus himself. Another apostle, Peter, goes from being a man of great will but little direction to a man of wisdom and power, supported by his “teammates,” even when that occurs through valid criticism. On their own, each man is wasted talent; together, bolstered by the young church (and under the “effective” leadership of the King of Kings), they spread the love of Christ throughout the world.
It’s amazing how being on a team can transform your work. As I revisit the past on Beneath the Tangles for our tenth year commemoration, I’ve commented on how the nature of the brand has changed because we’ve added team members. Some four-dozen volunteers have helped us over the years. They’ve sharpened my leadership, helped to both focus and broaden our reach, and created a more effective site. On my own, I have a tendency in my pride to find great comfort is going my own way, sometimes towards peril. But with the support of other leaders and the rest of the team, we’re more aligned toward doing the work of loving others and sharing our passion for anime, the very mission of this blog. I’ve grown as well—I’m a better writer, story sharer, administrator, evangelist, and Christian because of the team around me. If I’m still a child in my faith now—and I still often feel that to be true—I would be a toddler or infant without the encouragement, support, and strength of those around me.

In KYHOE, each of the girls achieves greatness because of the others. Asakusa is living in her own mind, a river of imagination that doesn’t really seem to care if she ever focuses her brilliance and accomplishes anything. She could remain happy being that way, but Kanamori pushes her to become more than she is, while Mizusaki continually tosses important questions at her that heighten Asakusa’s thoughts about the direction of their anime.
Mizusaki, on the other hand, desires to create anime but has no support to do so. She is an island with parents whom she feels don’t offer her the support she needs and without a strong group of friends, since her fame creates a certain barrier from those around her. Kanamori provides her the structure to make her dreams a reality, and Asakusa provides the missing elements—the story and direction and design that Mizusaki needs to bring drawings to life.

Even Kanamori, the most driven of the girls, needs help from the others. In fact, she might need community more than they do. Since she was a child, helping her family run a convenience store, Kanamori not only had an eye for business but a keen interest in it. But how can she use her talent and skill? Anime is a vehicle for her to hone what’s within. But although she’s more organized than the other girls, there are still missteps along the way. She’s growing as they are, and learning from mistakes. One day, I imagine, the girls will look back to these experiences as each of the Beatles did at theirs and recognizes missteps, mistakes, and ways they could have done better (Mizusaki, the perfectionist, already points many of her own flaws out). Their talent is forming and will continue to do so.
But the Eizouken’s development isn’t just for the small screen. I know that I need the same in every part of my life, including in the maturing of my faith. I require a community that encourages through taking care of me, but also in holding me accountable when needed, as Paul did with Peter. Community is absolutely necessary if one wants to thrive; teamwork is essential for personal growth. The Eizouken came together during a pivotal moment in the club members’ lives—if not for the team, I don’t foresee a successful future for Mizusaki (and perhaps for Asakusa as well) in animation. For each of the Beatles, a prolific output followed even after their breakup that could not have happened had they not formed their band to achieve the success and brilliance they did. And for Christians like myself, church has the potential to be a turning point as well; a great community can lead to multiplication, an intense growth in faith that positions the believer to become a harvester of many fields rather than a farmer struggling his whole life to till just one acre.
And perhaps that’s the most incredible aspect to a great team—it not only changes the team member; it can transform all those around her as well. Strong community is powerful, alive, sacred. It is worth discomfort. It is worth grasping for. And as with Asakusa, Mizusaki, and Kanamori, it is worth battling for in all ways—against yourself at times, through conflicts within the team, and in protection from assault by others—keep your hands off my community! For it is the life extraordinary, and it is worth the fight.

Multiples of 8
hey! Sorry if I get my multiples mixed up- I'm gay so I'm bad at math ~
8. Who from the opposite gender is on your mind?Huh. I mean I had a strange dream involving Nicholas Cage and the crazy guy who rides a unicycle and wears a rainbow beanie at my train station, but I try to avoid even the thought of men as much as I can.. OH WAIT I KNOW. FUCKING KYHOE REN AND IS GODDAMN SHIRTLESS SCENE. why does that bitch look like a drunk alien college student with no hand eye coordination woke up in a cold sweat at 3 AM and remembered they had a project for Human Studies due, so they looked at a picture of the Incredible Hulk, the ugly fetus thing from the end of the Harry Potter movies, and the Michelin man, and tried to construct a man out of like bits of old clay, taking a few lines of coke halfway through to stay awake, then pounding the mass together while cackling maniacally to produce the patsy, cauliflower looking fuck that is Kylo Rens body. I looked at it and lost even more of my will to live.

16. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?OH HELL NO- that wouldBe a disaster!
24. Favorite part of your daily routine?Closing my eyes and going to sleep. or maybe looking at the wide sky, or reading a book, or lighting candles, or the moment when no one is looking at me.
32. If your hair long enough for a pony tail?
yeah, unfortunately. I wanna cut it really short, but my mother is against anything that isn't strictly feminine.
40. What do you want to do after high school?Oo! I dunno, move out, I'm excited to um exist as a gay person in real life. I would absolutely love to be a writer, but I know that's hard. I'm excited to go to college, be free, travel. not have to pretend anymore, you know?
48. Have you ever been drunk? It's really, really not pretty. I.e. Now I'm not drinking until I'm 21, because I've had some terrible things happen to me, I've done some crazy shit, and due to mental shit I was developing a dependency
56. Favourite colour? Ooo this is hard. Not to be Terrible but blue?? Oh god that's terrible. TBH I love every color, except for nasty shades of yellow and maroon. Also turquoise because I have traumatic memories with that color.
64. Tell us the story of your first kiss?not consensual. with a large boy 2 years older than me. i thought I was awful for not enjoying it.
72. What colour are your towels? white? I wish they were dark blue tho, to be honest white towels are the Worst I have a whole fucking rant about it but y'all have better stuff to do w your time.

Well really, it's one of my best friends. She does so much stage and TV work, and I honestly just love to watch her preform. She's incredible.

104. Do you miss anyone from your past?do I? Do I??? Sometimes it seems as if every moment from my life is looking back on the golden days when things were better. Every time I think I've hit rock bottom, I only fall lower. I hear a call every night, a call back to my childhood and days I can never have back, days I took for granted and would do anything now to have back. I miss when I used to love and be loved by my family, I miss friends that simply drifted out of my life, I miss the cashier at the bookshop who disappeared one day, I miss the feeling of at least having grandparents, I miss the people who I thought my family were, I miss Obama, I miss Leslie from parks and rec, I miss the homeless people I made friends with during church food drives, I miss so many faces I will never see again, and most of all, I miss the person I used to be. What would it be like, to spend one day not in excruciating pain? What would it be like to be happy, just for one second just for a moment, again?
105. Ever been to a bonfire party?
106. Ever broken someone’s heart?
107. Have you ever been on a horse?

144. Was today a good day? oh hunny. I know I'm being a Sad Susan, but yeah it really wasn't. my family was bein. Their normal bigoted self, we went to a restaurant and my dad got disgusted that there was a gay couple there, and asked to be moved to a table farther away from them (this is not the first theme this has happened). I had terrible asthma and couldn't really breathe lol. I'm super stressed about school, my DABpression Drugs aren't working enough :))))))), I lost my headphones, and I'm sad. tbh, actually not bad for me- oh yeah!! I got Carrie fishers book!! Some vacations go better than others, but she can always count on Thrav to take care of her. As the first of her spouses to ever see her physically injured, he's always the one she goes to when she can't carry herself any further.
Tumblr media
It's rare that she needs him to finish the fight off for her, but Thrav always does.
Tumblr media
And she can rest, knowing he'll finish what she started.

Next year, C'allie is going to remodel for a larger Starlight gathering. She couldn't fit all of Thrav's Kyho mates or Zale's other partner in the house. @rylen-ashworth managed to fit with judicious squeezing.
