ARKTOBER- Extinction 2023 (Inktober)

PART 1 (ARKtober 2021 - The Isle) PART 2 (ARKtober 2022 - Aberration) Dino zombies, mutations and End of the World !! Woooo this year’s custom inktober is clearly one of my biggest challenges of 2023! I drew a group of FIVE characters to interact, it’s a great exercise I loved doing for my last ARKtober! When I compare them with those before, I feel like I have progressed and made something much cleaner and better managed for the colors, even if it’s not perfect. I mean, when I put aside day 31 vs the first day of 2021… WOW!

ARKtober 2022 - Aberration

I love ARK, ARK is good, we played too much ARK with @ampreh-

(that's a lie, you can't play too much ARK)

ANYWAY, last year I've made my Inktober on the theme of our fanstory, Vivarium Notes, on ARK's first map, the Island; this year we decided to do it on Aberration, the third map (and my favorite) ! :D

There is no way I could've drawn every corner of the map and everything we experienced during the game, buuuut it's here at least :3 and it was so exciting to draw our little tribe in this setting !!

ARKTOBER- Aberration, 2022 (Inktober)

PART 1 (ARKtober 2021 - The Isle) After the Island map, this year, Kahuere and her tribe are on the Aberration map. My favorite so far !

I confess, I skipped the Scorched Earth map on purpose because it was a bit empty of content (I only played it for two weeks against 1 year on the island and several months on Aberration lol). Well, maybe one day I'll do SE, now that they released the ascension cinematic that I'm really HYPED about (they finally managed to connect this ark to the next one according to the lore, wow)!

ANYWAY! Going from a weird tropical island to a broken ark, exposed to radiation and extreme temperatures in space with mutant creatures was fun for me. The atmosphere is even creepier; whether you go deep into the radioactive depths or out onto the scorching lunar surface. And the lore is INCREDIBLE, oof! Rockwell as a boss is definitely one of my favorites along with the Overseer from The Island, the Master Controller from Genesis 1 and Rockwell from Genesis 2 (at least I have more interest in it than The Manticore from SE or the King Titan from Extinction) I like the survival atmosphere, I like the post-apocalyptic world, I like the depressing story, and most of all, I like that voice in your head that tells you that no matter what you do to survive, there is no way out for Humanity (excluding future ARK2).

A little disappointed in myself because I couldn't put all the content of Aberration so full of details ;_; It's crawling with corruption, mutation, hhdsdjkjs in short I could talk about this game for hours. I have "only" 1,000+ hours on it and yet sometimes I wish I could forget everything for the pleasure of playing it again from the beginning to rediscover the lore and the gameplay, and for the pleasure of spending hours theorizing with my friends. Yeah. We love theorizing.

I don't know if next year I'll do the next Exctinction map, who knows? PS: The The Island ascension cinematic and Aberration ascension cinematic are my favorites (out of the arks) haha. PPS : THE OSTs ARE SO DAMN GOOD THANKS GARETH COKER YOU'RE BLESSING US ??!! I CAN LISTEN ARK SOUNDTRACKS FOR HOURS AGAIN AND AGAIN LIKE SRLY IT'S MY OBSESSION

The "Ask Kahuere" n°2 I received last year ! It misses me so much I think I'll continue the serie if I receive new Asks ! Kahuere is my ARK survivor OC ! She's with her female ravager.
