Apparently I have no ability to answer these when I first actually get them but I shall now!! Okay so Depa Syndulla-Jarrus, platonic love of my life. She's me and @accidental-spice's OC (we have joint custody of her) daughter of Kanan and Hera (generally she's younger than Jacen, except one time I made them twins because I needed to. Long story) and a general trouble maker

Having inherited her dad's trouble making side and smirkery, and her mother's sense of justice and adventure fever (to say nothing of her natural sense of rebellion against authority that having a Mandalorian as an aunt/sister figure), she is an absolute Feral Gremlin of a young lady. Definitely threatened to bite people's kneecaps off as a little girl, and doesn't really... stop, as an adult. She's Force sensitive, like her brother, and who her Jedi master is varies from au to au, based on what pleases me at the time. Oh, and she's named after Kanan's Jedi master! (she actually reminds me a little of Tiffany, but with more murder. I mean this as a deep compliment because I love both of these girlies very much)

Hey people,

I am currently writing a Star Wars Story that takes place around the time of the Sequels and is divided into three big parts with multiple chapters each.

The focus is on an OC Anabelle Skywalker Solo who is the daughter of Han and Leia. Throughout the story she will have to deal with the aftermath of Ben destroying the Jedi Temple, fitting into the Resistance/finding her place, and will also have to deal with some elements/beings from Legends. Additionally there will also be a love story which will be a giant part of the story with Poe Dameron, which will basically go Childhood Friends -> Mutual Crushes but at different times -> Friends -> One hating the other -> Rivals -> Friends -> everyone knows they‘re in love but them -> Lovers so I wouldn‘t exactly label it as a „slowburn“ but it‘s probably not far off.

Also there will be many OCs but also many known Characters that we know from Rebels or even Clone Wars that have now grown up/gotten older, like Jacen Syndulla.

Some part of that story has been with me for a long time now (since I was 16 in fact, I‘m 22 now) and I was wondering, would anyone want to read something like that?

Because I know many people don‘t like the Sequels but it has also some legends elements as well as some Clone Wars and Rebels References so…

yeah tell me what you think…

Also should I share it, also prepare for lots of bad fan art/concept art that I once made and maybe even 1-3 playlists because like I said in the beginning, this has been a long ongoing project.

“It’s not fair.” 

Chase tries to hide his amused smile as he turns to face his pouting daughter. “What isn’t fair?”

“That Atarka gets to go on the Balazar mission but I can’t."

“She’s a knight. You’re still a student, and students aren’t allowed on high-risk missions.”

Rexanne crosses her arms. Blue eyes glaring from behind her haphazardly chopped bangs, the rest of her white and grey-blue streaked hair just brushing the black and red shoulders of her uniform. “I’m at the advanced level. If it weren’t for my age, I could already be a knight.”

“You only moved up to the advanced level last month. You still have a little more to learn before being the equivalent of a knight.”

“And when I reach that equivalent, you’ll make me a knight?”

“If by then, you’ve turned eighteen. If not, you’ll remain a student until you do.” 

“But that’s four years.”

“There’s a lot you can learn in four years.”

She protests. “But if I don’t go on any high-risk missions, how am I supposed learn how to survive them?” 

“With the simulator, and every other aspect of your training that I, your mom, your Uncle Leo, and many others painstakingly designed and constantly update to make sure every student is prepared to face whatever may come their way.”

“It’s not the same. Besides, you and mom were both handling missions at fourteen that you would now classify as high-risk.” 

“And we, each respectively, barely made it to seventeen.” 

Rexanne rolls her eyes. “You’re just being overprotective.”

Chase breathes in, and lays a hand on her shoulder. “When I was your age, it was my responsibility to sacrifice my life, if necessary, to save others. And I’m not willing to put that expectation on you, or any other fourteen-year-old, or Calderan or other alien biological equivalent to that age. I don’t want you finish your childhood with that duty haunting you.”

Circa 11 ABY (2045)

Rexanne leans against the cliff wall, barely noticing the jagged edges of the rock digging into her shoulder blade. She glances down, and takes a breath before strengthening her grip under her mother’s arms and pulling her a little further up her lap, a little farther from the water still washing over her legs. She lays two fingers on Ahsoka’s neck, feeling the faint, but steady, thrum of her pulse. 

The young woman allows herself to relax, listening the roar of x-wing engines, sensing the wills of those only seeking to offer aid, looking up at the blue of the sky, out to the blue of the water, waves crashing up on the rocky shore, splashing the blue and black of her knight uniform, remembering the blue glow of the strange inter-dimensional place that turned to a fiery haze of her mother’s memories. Haunted by the ghost of a master reteaching his old padawan to live or die, because those were the only two possibilities on a battlefield. 

The kind of teacher her parents hadn’t wanted to be to their children until they had left childhood behind.

She waits beside her mother’s bed. Head bowed slightly, quieting her usually turbulent mind. 

Her eyes flicker over to the open door. 

“You know, it’s not polite to lurk.”

A small green-haired head pops shyly into view. “Sorry, my mom doesn’t know I’m here.”

Rexanne smiles. “Somehow, I’m pretty sure she does.”

The boy (Jacen, is it? Her mom did tell her his name at some point) shrugs sheepishly, but doesn’t comment, curiosity soon lighting up his expression as his eyes savor the room. 

His gaze settles on the hilt of one of Rexanne’s lightsabers. “You’re a jedi!”

She shakes her head slightly. “No. I was trained under a different order.”

Jacen furrows his brow. “But your mom’s a jedi.”

“She was raised a jedi, but she left the Order a long time ago. Long before either of us were born.”

The boy crosses his arms. “Okay, but that still makes her basically a jedi. At least that’s what my mom says. And Chopper. And Aunt Sabine. And everyone else, really.”

“That’s all they know, so naturally that’s all they see her as. That doesn’t mean it’s the most accurate perspective.” 

Jacen frowns. “Well, I wanna be a jedi.”

Rexanne smiles, amused. “I think that’s something you’d have to talk to Luke Skywalker about.”

“I know. He’s starting a Jedi Academy. My mom won’t let me go, though. She says I’m too young. But I’m ten years old! Jedi of the Old Republic would’ve started their training at like four. I’m brave enough too. I wanna save lives just like my dad.”

Just as a child always desires to be like their parents. 

“Training young isn’t a bad thing, I did. But you have to respect whatever your mom decides.”

“But I can do it! I know I can.”

“And I’m sure she knows you can too. It’s not about your abilities. It’s your mom’s responsibility to protect and raise you, because when you’re a child you’re not supposed to be doing that yourself. And one day, when you’ve grown up, you’ll do the same for your own children, or student, or whoever will be yours to care for.” 

Jacen frowns. “That’s a long time to wait.”

Yes. “It is. But there are many things to learn while you wait.”

Okay, I know that this may sound stupid, but this time it is not Tumblr at fault - it’s me, because I deleted the recent post on that by accident (gosh, why am I so blind, I just wanted to edit it because I found some interesting info, but nevermind).

So, the thing is, that I’ve been working on my Star Wars fanfiction for a while. The story would include Darth Maul having a daughter with his human lover before being cut in half on Naboo by Obi-Wan in Episode I. I remember that for some reason it made little sense to me that so many fan artists draw their Maul’s daughter OCs with horns and red skin when they choose mothers of their OCs to be clearly human women (because with other species it makes a little more sense, which I will explain in a second).

So, the first time I asked the question “How likely it would be for Darth Maul’s potential daughter to inherit his horns?”, I received an answer that in case when the mother is human, horns are very unlikely, with an Iridonian Zabrak mother are most likely and in case of other species it is hard to determine.

It makes sense to me - Maul is a Dathomirian Zabrak and it is commonly known that Dathomirians are a result of mixed breeding between Iridonian Zabrak men and human women. This means that Maul carries human DNA from his female line and Zabrak DNA from his male line. This specific Dathomirian DNA is likely to manifest itself differently in his offspring, depending on the kid’s gender. This means that a daughter with a human partner would inherit characteristics common in Dathomirian women, instead of Dathomirian men, such as pale, slightly gray-ish skin and slender figure. In fact, I decided that my OC would inherit many more of her visual characteristics from her mother (only paler skin and slender figure would be the slight signs of her half-Dathomirian parentage), which would perfectly add to the surprise effect when she finally learns that Maul is her biological father - because she will obviously assume at first that it's impossible because she does not resemble Maul at all 😜

In the case of a son with a human partner, I am not 100% sure. Perhaps he would inherit his father’s horns, perhaps not. Maybe he would have red/reddish skin, maybe not. I mean, here it kinda gets tricky like in human/Twi’lek hybrids. We’ve seen those with lekku (Lacquane kids who are half-human, although Cut is not their biological father) and without (Jacen Syndulla, who only has green hair, eyes, and tops of his ears). So I guess that in this case, all options are possible.

I am still not sure whether Maul’s kids with a human partner would inherit Zabrak two hearts though, since both Dathomirian men and women have two hearts. I guess it depends, but in case of my OC I chose not to give her two hearts.

So, now my question to you guys:

How do you think Maul’s children would look like, depending on the species of their potential mother?

#10: That's hard...I try to put as much detail as I can into character designs but if I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be this one:

Persephone Jarrus-Syndulla, the daughter of Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels!

Now there is a lot (A LOT) of story, depth, and details around this OC (which sucks 'cause there's basically no way she could exist in the SWR universe without AU-ing pretty hard, (if you know, you know) but I'm still super proud of my space girl!

Some details in her design include:

She has her father's eyes which gives a deeper meaning because he becomes blind in the show

Her "lucky helmet" as she calls it, was a gift from her godmother, Sabine Wren.

She wears fingerless gloves like her father

Her skin markings are inspired from the fur pattern of my dog, Marty, who passed away a few years ago

She wears a combination of her mother's jumpsuit and a lose over shirt with a tight under shirt (a style I love)

I have a Nightmare Before Christmas OC named Little Rabbit and basically, he's a young Native American boy from Thanksgiving Town. I love him a lot but he's difficult for two reasons:

He was born mute and speaks in sign language. This is why his name is Little Rabbit, he's quiet and shy, but still energetic and playful. I don't have much experience with people with disabilities in writing or real life, so I'm always worried about accurate representation.

He, his brother, and half of Thanksgiving Town are Native American, and I really respect Native Americans and feel terrible for how much their culture has been through. So, as overly stylized as everything in the Nightmare Before Christmas world is, I try to be as respectful and aware as I can, but it can be hard. For example: Little Rabbit's older brother was originally named Red Wolf, but I realized that might sound like red skin so I changed it to Grey Wolf.

I think one of my favourite images to have of my oc Hope Solo is her at like six years old with her Dad who is Han freaking Solo, and then having two uncles who blew up a death star each, and just begging to meet her idol Hera Syndulla.

A: How did you come up with the title to [Kheresankh]?

Okay, so a lot of the culture I've created as one of the native cultures of Jedha, where Danai's from, is based heavily in Ancient Egyptian mythology. It'll be kind of a cross of Ancient Egyptian influences and canon-Jedha influences (Muslim and Jewish regions in the Middle East). There will be Far East influences as well (the Whills and Jedi), and some others, but Danai's culture is largely based in Ancient Egyptian mythology.

Anyway, the name for Kheresankh:

There is an Ancient Egyptian name I found - Kheredankh. It literally means "Child of Life." I modified it slightly to be Kheresankh. But overall, it means the same thing. "Child of Life." Or, more accurately, for SW, "Daughter of the Force."

I kind of ascribe to the belief that all Jedi and Force-sensitives are the Force's children in some way, not just Anakin.

K: What is the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Personally, I think my Crosshair fic is a genuine doozy. Ya know, where he fantasizes about a life with reader while he's lying in wait to snipe her. 😈😈😈

I've also toyed with the idea of writing a little fic about Chirrut Imwe. I've always believed that he was slightly Force-sensitive. Not enough to wield it in the way of a Jedi. But occasionally he'll feel something warm inside him, and he'll know that Baze is smiling at him. He'll feel a sudden spot of cold hovering over his shoulder and he'll know there's Imperial troops behind him. He'll get a headache when there's a storm rolling in. And a shiver up his spine when there's a warning in the air. Every once in a while, something will forcefully curl his toes, or make his finger twitch, or compel him to turn in a certain direction.

And then, right there, on the beaches of Scarif, Chirrut sees something, actually sees something. He knows from the way the actions of his sight don't match with what he's hearing that it's a vision of some kind. And in it, he sees himself. He sees his lips moving in an age-old mantra. He sees carnage around him. He can feel the desperation through it, and the acceptance of it as well. So Chirrut watches as he falls, and Baze run to him.

And Chirrut still walks out there anyway.

Talon Lawquane

Hi everyone, this is Talon Lawquane, drawn by @noktoraspali​. She is my OC that is the daughter of Jacen Syndulla and Suu Leh-Lawquane. She is loosely based off of Darth Talon, but with a completely different moral alignment and origin story. She is 37.5% human and 62.5% Twi’lek. Because of her human DNA she has human ears despite being born a female Twi’lek. She is the granddaughter of Jek Lawquane and Fa'ale Leh, and great granddaughter of Suu Lawquane. She was raised by her aunt with her twin brother until the First Order came looking for her mother. Her aunt smuggled her off world and she was adopted by a Twi’lek family on Ithor, Cloud-Mother. But both her and her twin are force sensitive, can the galaxy really keep them apart, only time will tell.

Ch. 8: “Tired. Their family’s word for every kind of toll that war and loss and pain could take on a person.” HI, GUYS! I’m getting out ahead of Kanera week. This chapter is kind of a downer, but...hope you enjoy?  ...

Hera met her father at the Ghost’s ramp, thoroughly out of her element despite being in her own home. Cham Syndulla didn’t leave Ryloth (although if he did, she had to admit, a hidden Rebel base was a likely destination). He didn’t travel alone, without his lieutenants to order around (she’d probably get a double dose of commands to make up for their absence). He expected to be met with great fanfare, not to ferry himself from his landing strip to the hangar where her ship was docked. And he certainly didn’t bow out of Ryloth’s resistance for a mostly social visit. 

But the whole world had ended and been re-shaped in the last few months, and she, Hera, wasn’t exactly her old self either. So she met him on the Ghost’s ramp with a stuffy nose, eyes red from exhaustion and worry, and a two-month-old baby in her arms. How on earth was she going to get through this visit? “Father.” Cham stopped in his tracks, eyes widening. Okay, she knew she was a sight, but she hadn’t thought it was that bad. Nobody in Rebel Command seemed to notice. To his credit, he nodded with barely a missed beat. “Daughter.” “It’s good to see you.” A formality. It was not good to see him. She didn’t want to think about her own childhood right now. She didn’t want to think about anything.

“I have a grandson,” he said.

Star Wars AU: Jedi Academy

New batch of micros for my Star Wars AU! This time around, I've made characters from the Jedi Academy video game, specifically, Jaden Korr and his class of students. While Jaden is officially a human male, the game allows the player to choose the gender and species of their choice. As such, I opted to create a batch of OCs that are centered around the various options for Jaden in the game.

Dawn Syndulla, former student at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy (and daughter of a Twi’lek pilot and general we all know) tries to drown her grief and losses in drink—but it only makes the memories of both the massacre and its perpetrator greener and rawer in her mind. A wrenching OC vignette that’s true to the untranslatable concept of its title. Content warning for alcohol abuse/alcoholism.

Things to Come by @gondalsqueen. Star Wars (pre-Rebels). Continuing with this intriguing and well-written Hera origin story, too! (Link leads to chapter 6 of 8 so far.) In chapters 6 and 7 we get a look at the early stages of Hera’s relationship with Kanan—with underestimations and overestimations on both sides, daring “never tell me the odds” action sequences, and quality time with Hera’s chatty cousin. But in 8 things expand beyond the limits of “origin story” in Cham Syndulla’s fraught first meeting with his 8-week-old grandson!

the daughter of the hammer of ryloth , hera felt the weight of that legacy. but after her mother's death by imperial hands , and her father's emotional distance , she knew her fight was not on her home planet. it was time to take to the skies and find a sense of peace in flying for the rebellion that she could never find at home.
