y’all.... im thinking about a royal au..... in which you are in love with childhood friend and tender to the gardens, izuku but are betrothed to and forced to marry katsuki, the heir to the throne in a nearby kingdom and notoriously abrasive. 

against your will, you marry katsuki but vow that you’ll never love him. that your true love is izuku and that it always will be. that you’ll never bear him children, that you’ll play the good wife for appearances and for the sake of the kingdom, but that your opinion on katsuki will never change. 

n at first you are so resentful, practically in mourning for what you feel was stolen from you. n while katsuki is gruff and abrasive, he never pries, he doesn’t push, and though he grows frustrated, he never truly expects more. katsuki understands. he’s in a similar position, but he doesn’t understand why you’re so disagreeable all the time, as if he were the one who organized it. 

but eventually, in the way people who get to know each other do, you begin to see this entirely new side to katsuki. a gentler one. the one that cares for your needs despite you being wicked and angry with him. the one who, despite you claiming you hate him almost every chance you get, never fails to be a good man to you. 

though he loses his temper, their is a gentler side to him that you think doesn’t come across anywhere but to you. and slowly, you find yourself thinking of him more. little do you know, of course, that katsuki had fallen a long time ago. early into your marriage, when he saw the way you loved. how strong you were in your convictions. those parts of yourself that you thought were wicked but were just manifestations of a rare kind of devotion. 

slowly but surely, you both navigate it. the regularities of married life, of putting on the show for others, and then, eventually, discovering how to turn the performance off and make clear the way you feel about each other.
