i think its always so weird to meet someone your age who grew up completely different from you? i feel like thats when you really notice the difference and omg youre so brave haha i would never dare to go on a motorcycle 🤧 id rather just walk hehe oh, my parents told me similar stories!! even tho they grew up there and everything, they barely recognise the city anymore which is kind of sad to think about :( and, yes, that was my first time meeting my grandparents!! it was kind of weird (1/4)

Inspired 2017 Rehearsal Process

Rehearsal feedback from Bobbi:

Tap Solo- Smile when performing and try not to look worried

-Show a character particularly in the slower sections of the dance, like you do in the 9 to 5 group piece.

-Nice use of space, direction and travel.

- Nice variety of steps and movements in choreography.

- Watch out for miss taps and work on sections that you are not so confident with and add more use of the arms where possible.

Tap Solo

- The top and bottom half of the body are too separate, the feet are really good but you need to perform with the top half as well.

-       Still more character needed.

-       Change the slower sections. I agree with this, as when I perform the slower sections its feels like a bit of an anti-climax within the piece.

-       Much better beats and you hit every beat.

 Cold Water

-       Change your formation as you have already used a semi circle in Lean On Me.

-       Volume on the overlap of the 2 song, make sure they match.

-       Need to do something on the outro, audience are left waiting  long time before they can clap.

Formation

-Stronger arms.

-Make sure everyone knows exactly what they are doing, go over it.

-Really strong, well done.

9 to 5

Stop skimming the floor.

-Keep going over it so that everyone is confident with the steps to avoid skimming.

 The Way You Make Me Feel

-       Looked messy.

-       -Needs to be sexier.

-       Go over the choreography as a group.

-       Bits were missed out that we have worked on.

 Lean On Me

-Sort out the formation.

-Go over it and make sure that everyone knows what they are singing.

Today I worked with Bobbi to change the slower sections of my Tap solo. The new bits are very fast but with practise I have confidence that I can pull it off. Before I had time to breathe during the slower sections but now the entire piece is very fast pace without and slower breaks so I will make sure that I go over it as much as possible to build up my stamina.

 16/1/17

Todays rehearsal was used to tech the pieces.

We ran the pieces and blocked the lights. After the lights had been set we ran the pieces in full costume. I had to add a bit more onto the end of my Tap solo due to the new music cut but this was not too much of an issue and I think I did well to adapt my piece to fit the end of the music. The music cut was a lot better than the one I had previously done myself and helped to finish off the piece nicely. We managed to complete the teching for most of the first half today and will continue tomorrow.

 17/1/17

Today we continued running and setting the lighting for the pieces. Once the lights had been set, like yesterday, we ran the piece with the lighting and costume. Today we managed to complete the first half and part of the second half of the show.

 20/1/17

Today we did our fist full run of the show with costumes, lights and sound.

Feedback from Bobbi:

 One (General feedback for everyone)

-Make sure you know the counts for the first cannon.

-Sharper movements with the hats.

-Needs to be a lot bigger, Broadway style, really cheesy.

-End cannon needs work. All cannons need cleaning.

- Second half of the dance needs cleaning.

 Pencil Full of Lead (Tap solo)

-Start further forward so you are more in the light.

-Really nice performance and character.

 Cold Water

-Sounds beautiful.

-Think about what you are saying with your faces.

-Neutral body, performing faces.

 Formation

-Excellent energy.

-Really precise.

-Get rid of the bad word in the track.

 Aquarius

-       Watch the positioning for the lighting on Georgia. Everyone needs to move back.

-       Volume. Singing is too quiet.

-       More eyes and face -look in amazement.

-       Brilliant costumes.

 9 to 5

-Get on quicker.

-More performance, You’re at work, bored and then you start dancing. Show the difference in the moods.

-Loads more energy.

-Work on timing.

-More energy needs to be much bigger.

-       Love each other more.

-       -Sounded nice.

-       Needs going over and over.

-Needs to be more intense.

-Want it to come in straight away after beats.

-Go off at different times to get phones.

-Only slight movements on the rap.

Today we cut Bad Boys and changed the running order due to illness and injuries. In the morning we were rehearsing and then we did a full run in the afternoon.

 Feedback from Bobbi:

One

-Bigger, more performance.

 Pencil Full of Lead (Tap solo)

-       More face, oooo’s and ahhh’s not just a smile. Go through the vows.

-       Taps were really nice and clear.

 Cold Water

-       More facial expressions.

 Formation

-Really nice and strong.

-Nice performance.

 Aquarius

-       Much better performance.

-       Needs to be louder still.

 9 to 5

-       Better cheese but still needs more.

-       More ooo’s and ahh’s

-       More interaction with each other.

-       Music went wrong but it should have been covered better.

-       Work on the spacing in the diagonal line.

-       Felt a bit rushed and not enough energy.

-       Better performance.

-       Make sure you keep the performance even when you are not singing.

-       Watch the positioning in the spotlight.

 I See Fire

-       Travel the step-ball-changes backwards more.

-       Bigger hip tilt.

-       Don’t cheat the Rande de jambé jump.

  24/1/17

Today we did a filmed run in full costume as part of the assessment. We changed a small part of “One” due to people not being able to get to their positions in time. We also took out one of the cannons.

-       Make sure you know the order of the lyrics. Getting the Me’s and You’s  mixed up.
