Sorry, I cannot get over how many younger teen wolf fans are obsessed with Theo, I don’t get it I DO NOT get it, it doesn’t make sense. He’s probably one of the least developed characters, they implied he’s not actually the real Theo and then never addressed where he really came from or who he was, he could have been redeemed so many times in his first couple seasons but every time he almost made a good decision he just tossed it aside and decided to keep being the fuckin worst, and then in the last season they were just like “he’s on our side now, no you don’t get any actual development you’re just supposed to feel sad he sleeps in his car and that’s it” like okay how can the writing team make Peter and Deucalion into likable villains but they couldn’t do the same with Theo??? Like they’ve done it before, it should not be hard. Instead, we’re just supposed to believe he’s okay now because what??? Because he’s sad?? He’s alone? Bro murdered his sister, stole someone’s identity, hired fake parents, and then broke the guys hand when his signature forgery wasn’t good enough, all in the name of just… being strong? Like Theo should have stayed dead after his first season and every time he came back I was Tired™️ but all these fans are like omg theo and liam are my otp, theo should have been in the movie, theo was so hot, theo was so great, like damn Liam was kind of annoying but he does not deserve that, that’s just cruel

ok so. one thing about me and teen wolf is i ship everything. i've only seen 1-3b (i dipped when allison died moved away) and i rewatched 1-2 at the beginning of the pandemic. i forgot how fucking wild that show was?? ANYWAY!! here's a couple character interactions i'd love to see:

sam, meet lydia: lydia would initially be interested in dean, the charming, good-looking older brother, but quickly realize that sam is the one with the brains that line up more with hers. dean is smart, absolutely, but sam is more interested in typical academics, and lydia is a genius. they'd chat. they'd get into the lore (once sam does lydia a couple favors, of course). i fucking love lydia martin, she is a forever girl to me, and despite TW being an MTV show, lydia has deep flavors of sam. s2 lydia, hearing voices and visions, not knowing what's wrong with her, learning a dark family past, a harbinger of death...yeah, they'd have plenty to talk about and i'd LOVE to see these two as fast friends that nobody quite understands. sam hiding that lydia is a banshee from dean so that he & john don't hunt her...ugh <3

dean, meet peter hale: we know that dean loves a good looking father figure ;) and peter is so manipulative and creepy – he'd absolutely sniff out the J/D going on (incestuous family meet incestuous family) and use it to piss dean off during fights. i imagine this as an endless chase; peter is so good at getting away and dean is so upset with himself that he keeps losing him and getting toyed with in the process. can you imagine peter's flirting? also, with all the peter + lydia stuff happening, this would add another layer on top of it, when you have sam's friendship with lydia.

john, meet chris & kate argent: ok. incest recognize incest. what the hell was going on in the argent family lmfao bUT ANYWAY i would LOVE to see john talk with these other hunters who all three have such different interpretations of their "codes." i would love to see who john sides with – is it chris, who only hurts those who hurt others, or kate, the vicious fighter who doesn't think twice about hurting any werewolf? i would love to see the fallout of john siding with kate first only to see how that drive has corrupted her into the evil that she is.

dean should hook up with...marin: this would be so fun i think. she's smart and beautiful, which is enough to draw dean in, and she can keep up with him. he can talk to her about the supernatural world, but oh man imagine the fallout of finding out marin is working with deucalion, dean turning on her, and then finding out that she was actually double-crossing him! the self-hatred that would ensue. would they get back together after? who knows...

sam should hook up with...stiles: i almost said allison but scallison is my otp so i can't break them up lmao. i want sam & stiles to have their bi-curious phase with each other. a messy baby dom 4 baby dom virgin 4 virgin moment at one of those raves. they're both secretly constantly competing to be the smartest person in the room and stiles is sooo jealous of sam's friendship with lydia yet fascinated by him. tension off the CHARTS.

john should hook up with...melissa: hELLO? this would be so hot. while i do ship melissa/sherriff stilinski, i love the idea of this ill-advised hookup lmao. both single parents looking for a good time, john unaware that her son is one of the werewolves he's hunting, maybe rafael (her ex-husband) has it out for john bc the winchesters have gotten themselves on the FBI's radar?

oh there is SO MUCH fun stuff you can do with this crossover, also sam would love dr. deaton i think, and dean and jackson do get in a physical fight at some point and dean kicks his fucking ass lol

Slash Ships to Get to Know Me

Bleep (@bleepbloopbotz) resurrected this tag game from the depths of her notifications and tagged me and Annie (@udaberriwrites) on it, and of course, Annie being Annie went and tagged me too, so yay~

It got me thinking a bit, and I figured I might as well, since I never actually sat down and listed all the ships I had - slash and femslash alike. I'm only listing the major slash ones for now, but I'll continue my list beyond that... for real, though, I need to do this same exercise for my femslash ships (yes, I saw your tag, Annie, and will get to it soon!)

**Rules**: Name at least five (no upper limit) slash (M/M) ships you love. Each from a different fandom. (Sadly, I have no pictures here).

1 - Twilight & Life and Death

I'd be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the two slash ships I'm actually writing right now - Carlisle/Beau (MM Bellisle) and Edward/Mike. Being the only writer of the former ship (as of today) is quite the interesting experience! At first, they were just convenient characters to carry out worldbuilding plans... but jokes on me. I became a massive shipper as I wrote and I suckered Annie into them too XD

2 - Teen Wolf

I need to mention both my slash OTP, Steter (Peter/Stiles), as well as the Sterek (Derek/Stiles) ship that is so popular and well-known. I almost chose Teen Wolf as the fandom for my concept instead of the Twilight/Life and Death combination I settled on, and if I had, I'd be writing Steter and my femslash Teen Wolf OTP, Allydia, right now.

3 - Fire Emblem Three Houses

I'd also be pretty remiss if I didn't mention the slash ship that got me writing fanfiction in the first place - Ferdibert (Hubert/Ferdinand). I have no idea what about these two managed to get me writing after 15+ years of silent lurking, but they somehow did and I'm grateful, since it ended up in me being here, meeting so many lovely people!

4 - NBC Hannibal

Quite a few people know how I love the Hannigram (Hannibal/Will) ship - and I love that it's canon. It's the perfect darker ship for me! Heck, fun fact - I was heavily influenced by NBC Hannibal's fantasy-like sequences when I wrote Apricity's Azure Mystique dreamscape!

5 - Scum Villain (SVSSS)

You know what's interesting? Scum Villain is the only MXTX novel I've read, despite MDZS and TGCF being way more popular. I'm quite the fan of the main ship Bingqiu/Bingyuan (Luo Binghe/Shen Yuan), but I also love the dark ship that is original Luo Binghe and Shen Yuan.

6 - Ace Attorney

Decided to end this list with one of my more lighter, older, and cuter ships in Narumitsu/Wrightworth (Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright). Also, Momo is selling me on Klapollo (Apollo Justice/Klavier Gavin), so there's that! I love Ace Attorney in general and I'm pretty confident Capcom was intentionally making the whole thing ridiculously gay lol

You know, looking at this, I noticed two similarities across all of them.

First, that they all have at least a shade of darker themes among them. Heck, even Ace Attorney's Narumitsu isn't free of the ambiguity either, with the angst and all.

Second... I strongly favor the magical and supernatural stuff. I mean... there are vampires in #1, werewolves in #2, dark magic in #3, magical themes despite technically not being that in #4, heavenly demons and cultivation in #5, and the sheer absurdity present in #6

It was hard to pick 5 for this, but here we go:

A Simple Proposition. Formula 1 RPF. Toto Wolff/Christian Horner/Max Verstappen. Just really, really pleased with how this one came out.

2. Crown of Neon Lights. Original Work. High-powered rich bachelor uncle/Orphaned niece who comes to live with him. One of my longer fics (around 30k) and if I ever decide to try to publish a novel, I think I might expand this into one. I completely fell in love with both main characters while I was writing it.

3. No Secrets. Teen Wolf, Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski. This is an OTP pairing for me, but while I've read a metric shitload of fic for it, this is the only one I've written. (So far.)

4. Bondmate, Original Work, Alien with no concept of consent/His human neighbor. This is another one where I fell in love with both characters. Which is maybe a little weird or perhaps telling, because one of the characters is a consent-violating alien who cheerfully takes over his human's body, but anyway, I had a lot of fun writing it.

5. Stripped as You Are, Original Work, Young Male Servant/Closeted Male Lord. The first original work I ever posted on AO3, and one I'm still very proud of.

my favorite female character: allison!!!!! girl of all time. I really related to her when I was younger and the show was first airing, and now I just want to protect her. but I love all the teen wolf girls. Lydia, Malia, Kira, Braeden...that's what is so lovely about teen wolf!

my favorite male character: DEREK HALE! Love him. Sorry you can't show me season 1 and not expect me to be ready to die for Derek. He is my babygirl

my favorite book/season/etc: oof hard to choose...I do really enjoy season 2. season 3b is good and parts of season 4 were good. I need to watch seasons 5 & 6 still

my favorite episode (if its a tv show): ABOMINATION....2x04...WHO IS DOING IT LIKE HER! I also very much like the finale of season 4 for derek's big moment.

my favorite cast member: I don't really follow the cast much! I also know there's been drama there but I harbor no ill will. I do hope Dylan is thriving, his accident was really scary

my favorite ship: obviously Sterek but I would die for Allydia, and stalia has me unexpected soft...I love scallison but I also love scira!

Teen Wolf 1st Watch - 1.12 to 2.04 (?)

I’m still worried about the adult men of Teen Wolf, to be honest. Except you, Sheriff, you’re fine sweetie. And Coach. Coach might be my favourite character in the entire show. His reaction to the chains unfurling from Stiles’ locker? Perfection!

I love the hot dads (and uncles) of Teen Wolf, they are ridiculously hot, but if this was real life, their behaviour would be really questionnable.

I need all of you to stay at least one arm’s length away from any and all teenagers who are not your children, all right?

Breakdown of things that delighted and/or worried me in this block of episodes.

Peter

To my surprise — but absolutely no one else’s — I loved Peter. I fully expected to adore him later (spoiler alert!), but his first appearance wasn’t promising. Ugh, who does that vain, selfish guy think he is? 

I had the same reaction to Andrew Scott’s Moriarty, and within five minutes I was in love.

So: yeah, terrifying and creepy. But he’s so amusing and weird (and Ian Bohen is just leaning into it so gleefully) that I love him. Can’t wait for him to come back.

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Complimenting Allison’s skin like he wants to wear it is both hilarious and much too creepy. Good job trying to be charming Peter!

Biting Lydia then lying on top of her with your face less than a foot away from Stiles? Uncomfortable.

Offering to bite Stiles while holding up his wrist like a Victorian vampire? Yeah, Stiles/Peter is in my top-3 OTP.

Chris

I will never stop loving JR Bourne. The voice, the eyes, the smile… Yeah, big crush. (And he is doing a marvellous Moriarty-level crazy job on Mayans, MC if that’s your kind of thing. Weirdly obsessed with wolves again over there too.)

I’m a bit confused by one sequence in 2.01, though: the grey-scaled scene where he breaks a car window (it better not have been Melissa’s car, Chris), drags Scott (a werewolf, so super strength?) out through the broken window, and threatens to kill him. Was that a flashback or a dream? I find it hard to believe it really happened. And then idiots Scott and Allison kept seeing each other in secret. (I believe it from Scott, but I thought Allison was smarter than that.)

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Shoving Stiles against a wall and getting much too close to his face in 1.12.

Shoving Scott against the fridge to threaten him the second time he has dinner at his house, risking being overheard by Colonel Tigh in season 2. (Does that make Chris a Cylon?) 

And this one is not being inappropriate with teenagers, but still really irresponsible: 

Using the Hale house as a training site and base of operations for the hunters. He knows Derek is still in town, right?

Leaving Allison (his darling daughter) tied up in the abandoned Hale house with a single young hunter. At night. So much could have gone wrong. How much do you trust that young man? How much do you trust Derek not to come back and get revenge? We know Derek better than that, but does Chris?

I’m not even mentioning the many times he’s been face-to-face with Jackson: at the end of season one, looking down at Jackson on his knees in the woods with that smirk; and putting his arm around Jackson’s shoulder to escort him out of the Hale house (did I mention THE HALE HOUSE?) in season 2. 

And God bless the directors or camera operators who linger on his ass at every opportunity. Thank you for your service.

Derek

Oh my God, Derek. Where do I start?

Maybe with the super weird way Peter’s death was filmed? Derek straddles him to finish him off, fine. But then he stands, one foot on either side of the corpse while he looks over his shoulder at the others and flashes his red eyes? Why was that blocking so weird? 

Derek gets a brand new personality in season 2. Does the Alpha power come with the personality of the person who had it before you? Because Derek with about 10-15% of Peter’s swagger is fun, but then it goes up to maybe 30% and that’s too much. The only times he felt like season 1 Derek was in his scenes with Stiles.

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Isaac. I wouldn’t say “inappropriate” so much as needlessly callous. Derek knows Isaac’s father abused him, but he roars in his face and completely terrifies him, then in a later episode, “trains” him by hitting him over and over again. Not cool, dude.

Erica. I suppose she is about 16, like Stiles and Scott, right? So what the fuck is adult Derek doing when talking to her in the morgue, stroking her calves and ankles, then grabbing her ankles and pulling her towards him, her legs either side of his hips? With the statutory rape in his past, shouldn’t he be trying not to use the seductive method to get teenagers on his side? Ugh. And because both actors are so clearly adults, the scene read as really hot, which made it extra disturbing. Thanks, I hate it.

Erica again. She jumps him and kisses him, hoping to distract. Fine, not his fault. But he kisses back for a really long time before he pushes her off. And when he does push her off, it is much too violent. I like Derek, and I get why he’s doing this, but I really, really don’t like it.

Erica, again (again). Derek looks like the douchebag twenty-something “dating” the 16-year-old when he picks Erica up at school. It’s on purpose to rile up Scott, but still. Ewww, Derek.

(Were the Stiles/Derek shippers already very active after season 1? Because this seems almost like overcompensating from the writers. I’m old enough to remember Smallville and the way Michael Rosenbaum was way too flirty with the 16-year-old boy in season 1 and in season 2 they had Lex pretty much marry 2 women. This feels like that.) 

Other random stuff:

Lydia is still my favourite of the kids, equal or a little bit ahead of Stiles.

Scott really needs to prioritize survival over Allison. Really. Stop thinking with your dick, man.

Jackson. Oh my god, Jackson. Calm down. Go to therapy. I don’t know, come out of the closet? You need help buddy, you are insufferable. 

Yay, ghost Peter! Now if he could speak a bit that would be great.

Victoria is terrifying. It’s kind of fun to discover that her husband is a big marshmallow while she is ice-cold flint. (Silver and Flint, ha!)

Who is creepy photographer guy? And why does he look about 35 when he’s meant to be a high school student?
