Babes was no one going to tell me there’s a recording of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with an Oud. With Egyptian influences?? This slaps so much. Behold all must listen.

Say hello to Oud, the alien pony from Pluto! He was created for @/dolly_lolly_playtime ‘s #aliencustom23 challenge, a departure from my usual style of pony customs! Because he’s an alien, I wanted to make sure to give him special attributes that he might need for his life on Pluto, such as slitted pupils to expand and take in the limited light Pluto gets from our sun. He’s got very bright colors to help stand out in the long Pluto nights, and glow in the dark paint and highlights. He is named for an Earth perfume ingredient that comes from wood resin, and his symbol is supposed to be an alien imagining of a perfume bottle! I have more to say but this is long already, so I’ll just share his hair to finish this off! He is rehaired from my stash of Dollyhair in Electric Banana, Green Apple Martini, Poison Ivy, Glow in the Dark yellow-green from Retrodolls, and Shimmerlocks tinsel in Opal, all on a #hqg1c dyed glitter base!

"His barbs? Spent arrows and wrent spears. His mane? Blood-rust. His tail? Knots of tattered banners, coffin nails, and a crooked dagger. But his smile- a thousand iron teeth, that is real. Or so they say."
- Yusuf Ayari to Salvatore L. Outhier, ("Suffered Visions", 1932)

Musical Shenanigans Are Back - Project Hadea
After a long ass thyme, trials tribulations and new instruments, I'm finally back into making musical shenanigans posts!! Now, musical shenanigans are when i imagine IF characters as music, I compose it and I play it.
Now this time I'm back with something exciting, I play oud now!! If you don't know what oud is check the description out right here. Music-wise a oud doesn't have frets and has quarter notes, for between a natural note and a flat. playing notes you cannot play on most stringed instruments, that being said might redo some of the characters I covered before just because oud opened up a lot of experimental space.
Now onto the important stuffs, if you don't know what project hadea is you're missing out big time, go check it out right here!
Without any further ado, here's the mess I came up with:
Nash:
"some of their tactical brilliance has probably rubbed off on you - and some of your impulsiveness on them"
I decided to use/highlight the element of impulsiveness and decided to compose as my hand plays the oud, without much planning, and this is what my brain came up with, I'm honestly very happy with it, would defo play that progression again.
Imxa:
"you’ll have to work hard to impress her"
I decided to play the first thing I ever composed on the oud, since (for me at least) it symbolizes just that, working hard to impress (myself, if no one else) and starting at some point, we all started somewhere after all.
That about sums it up, @nyehilismwriting i do hope i did not butcher your characters with my oud playing, and i hope you enjoy it, and to everyone else I hope y'all enjoyed listening to the lute's grandpa.

A moment of appreciation for my Lute
I had a few people asking about my Lute so I figured I would take a moment to post about it here. My Lute was made by a Japanese artist that makes Biwa, lutes and Oud ~ You can find his instagram here
https://www.instagram.com/biwaud?igsh=MTd4ZHJsN3ExcWo5bA==
My instrument is actually an Oud since the neck is thinner and it doesn't have frets. I love the design on it ~
A Koi fish 🎏 ~
I do encourage you to look at the artist's work and website ~ his designs are always quite interesting and you can listen to him play as well on his instagram. (I don't play well enough to show off yet)
It is very much one of the only things I brought back from Japan except my mugs collection, but that's another story ~
