Two people who've just witnessed the death of who they used to be, who've processed immeasurable loss in the aim of being kind, realize they're no longer bound to anything. After the Oathbreaker knight vanishes, Ursa collapses, shell shocked, and Astarion realizes just how similar they really are, and drops to his knees before her to embrace her.

is basically a walking garden, their armor is always covered in plants, roots, and branches; you can harvest medicinal herbs from them like they're terrarium

are at home in elven keeps and druid groves, even those that don't tolerate any other outsider

quickly gains the favor of Emerald Grove and bonds with Halsin over their experiences with druid circles and their love for nature

has a fey friend that follows them around, be it a fairy, pixie, fairy dragon, brownie, or bling dog; especially if its a unicorn, it makes everyone in the camp lose their shit

whenever they step, flowers bloom and longer richer grass starts to sprout

blooms all types of flowers for Karlach and teaches her how to make wreaths out of them

is frequently approached by various critters because they instill in them a sense of peace and comfort and they chat with them all the time

smells like forest rain, moss, rotting leaves or herbs

their appearance changes depending on the season of the year

tells Wyll about that one time their path led them to Feywild

enjoys and partakes in any form of art, be it painting, playing an instrument, or singing

become so imbued with ancient spell-warding magic as they progress, their presence alone wards off fey and fiends, and the Weave gets distorted around them, to Gale's eternal chagrin

stops suffering from the drawbacks of old age, making them as eternal as Astarion; the pale elf now has a friend who will never leave him

Restoring the Oath

You proved that you are able to control your urge by saving your beloved one from yourself. Moonrise Towers are no longer the Absolute's heart and light came back on the land of shadows, all thanks to you. You feel like you're finally worthy of your lost oath.

My first dark urge playthrough truly crawled its way to my heart, and this scene was just beautiful.

The hardest part about playing a Paladin is that there isn’t some authority to argue with every time you break your oath. Like:

“Your Honor, one of the tenets of my Oath is literally ‘kindle the light.’ I maintain that those buildings were the perfect kindling and fire is an excellent source of light.”

But no. There’s no one to argue with.

Imagine a Paladin subclass where there’s some authority figure to which you can argue about the terms of your Paladin contract and trick them with wordplay to win your case. Maybe you can negotiate for more powers and shit.

That would be a great class. I would play the hell out of that class.

the most hilarious thing just happened to me in BG3 My oath of the ancients paladin broke his oath by setting the vampire spawn free in Cazador's palace. I was talking to the Oathbreaker knight to explore whether to keep my oath or become an oath breaker. Just as my Tav went through his crisis of faith and decided to restore his oath the camera aligned just right so that in the background of one of the most important moments in my Tav's story.... there's Karlach... dancing her heart out

He's not my main tav (i haven't managed to draw Kairius right yet) but he means so much to me

He's for a challenge run where I can only non-lethal people and have to try to talk my way out of as many situations as possible.
