#Octavia's parentage is weird

Why is human Octavia's last name Sasaki? That's a Japanese name? No clowning intended I'm just genuinely confused
Wow. A good faith question. I never get these.
It’s because her Biological Mother’s surname was Sasaki. She doesn’t know who her dad is, and she was Orphaned very young, but stubbornly insisted on using her mother’s surname when she was an adult because she would not take the name of a family that treated her terribly.
Basically she has a Japanese name because she’s half Japanese.

The 100 Season 6 Prediction
Dome is bad guys, children of Gabriel are actually the good guys or at least are victims of the Primes, and Octavia and Diyoza will be the ones to uncover/reveal this
Why do I think this?
Well, first we get Lightbourne saying that "Satan tempted Gabriel to walk on water" when they bring Murphy back to life who, when he wakes up, says that he was in hell. I think that Gabriel was the first person to be exposed to the seaweed during the eclipse and was brought back by the weird snake. But whether this caused hallucinations or him to go crazy I don't know yet but it definitely sounds to me that there was some kind if schism-> honestly probably started by the (other?) Primes, and Gabriel and some others rebelled against the Primes leadership (which is scarily similar to the Flame wherein they think black blood = royalty regardless of parentage, which again have any of these writers taken a bio class? That's not how blood type works)
Whether Gabriel and co had different ideas for leadership or life on the planet or whatever, I don't think this "Death to the Primes" thing would've lasted through this many generations if Gabriel was simply evil or crazy. I think the Primes legitimately did something awful to Gabriel or his descendants, even if it was just locking them out of the dome to fend for themselves.
Ultimately, the main reason I have for this though is their stealing girls with black blood before the "ceremony" where they are renamed as Primes, AND their non-lethal tactics in doing so.
Because if they wanted to just kill all primes, they could just kill anyone with black blood. But they didn't do that for Delilah or Rose or Clarke. And they didn't hurt Diyoza, Madi, Gaia, and Jordan they just shot them with paralytic darts and left before they regained movement. Now this isn't to say they are completely innocent and good and Octavia was wrong to kill them. For one thing, she couldn't know that they hadn't hurt those at the drop ship and we did just see them mutilate a dead body and hold up the head chanting "death to primes"
But this is the 100. Nothing is ever as it seems at first glance.
All of the tactics and "weapons" we have seen the Children of Gabriel use are non-lethal. The only body they've "hurt" was a dead one. And here's why I think they did that:
The Dome brings their dead back to life.
After all, Kaylee is positively panicked at finding what Diyoza and Raven did with her family's bodies in ep2 and she and the others under the Dome are determined to get the bodies back. But when they hear the Children of Gabriel chanting in ep3 they say it's "too late" and head right back home. So it's very clearly not a "I want to bury my family" thing. But they were already dead, so why is it only when the Children of Gabriel have chopped off the heads of the bodies that "it's too late"? Because all media agrees, you can't bring a dead body back to life if it doesn't have a head.
My theory is that the Children of Gabriel are opposed to this practice among likely many others that the Primes have imposed on Dome society. After all, the CoG seem to have a much greater respect for life and death in their non-lethal and honestly non-confrontational tactics, their use of the forest and the plants as their weapons, their better adaptation to living on this dangerous planet (whereas the Primes literally live under a dome with all the native animals and fauna blocked out unless they need them), and their markedly different reaction to their people being killed by Diyoza (while Kaylee just wants to know where the bodies are, the CoG go up to Diyoza saying "that was my friend you murdered" and threatens to kill/hurt Diyoza with that knife).
Furthermore, Russell says his daughter died but then Rose's mother yells at him saying that he would be more concerned if it was his "daughter's turn". So what does this mean? I think it means that his daughter is still alive, but possibly those brought back aren't quite the same. Also, that either a) the Children of Gabriel do this constantly, stealing kids (only girls?) before they can be turned into Primes, thus it's pretty common and everyone "gets their turn", b) the stolen people return so it's not permanent but they are different after being with CoG, possibly more difficult to control or unable to be brought back or turned into Primes, or c) the stolen people join the CoG after realizing what the primes were going to do to them and seeing that the CoG aren't the bad guys.
This is legit all speculation, but we've already got some creepy vibes and strange choice of words on the Primes side (very Mountain Men esque as well) versus the more dangerous seeming/looking but non-lethal Children of Gabriel (with their very own Lincoln-like character).
I'm not going to guess at what happened with Gabriel, but I am willing to bet that the current Children of Gabriel are actually the good guys while the Primes and those under the Dome are the more sinister group. And thus that Diyoza and Octavia, the two "violent women" banished into the CoG territory by the Earthkru and Primes, will be the ones to uncover this and join the CoG to save the others.

A Drabble | Three Things
Lia was so over this heatwave that had seemingly grabbed hold of New York City by the horns. And yet, here she was, dragging three kids along through central park as she tried to find them a spot to throw a blanket down. She was just glad that the sun had gone down a half hour ago and it was starting to cool off, at least a little. This would be her first Independence Day truly knowing that she was a firecracker baby herself, and she’d decided that she would celebrate by forcing her kids to watch the fireworks with her. To be fair, they hadn’t put up too much of a fight. Easton had always been a big fan of this holiday, anyway (just like her), and Beckham was just excited because she’d bought a cookie cake for them to share while they were chilling out beforehand. Kaia was simply along for the ride, though the almost-two-year-old child was taking everything she saw in with wide eyes as they walked. Ophelia herself was excited; after all, her birthday was the day after all of this madness, and she was pretty excited for that. She wanted to take all of it in, since this was the first year she’d really know.
“What about right here?” came the voice of her eldest son, and Lia jumped a bit, not having expected it. She paused, shifting Kaia on her hip as she appraised the area. They were far enough away from everyone else that it seemed okay, so she nodded once. “This is perfect, actually,” she decided, turning to her oldest son. “Would you mind putting down the blanket, kiddo?” she asked, ruffling his hair a bit. He nodded easily, before he put down the bag he’d been carrying for her, enlisting his baby brother to help him spread the blanket — a navy blue one, complete with red and white stars, because why not be festive while they were at it? In the meantime, she did another sweep of the area around them, taking in the various families gathered in the park. She was glad that COVID hadn’t completely ruined this holiday this year, she thought.
As they settled down, she couldn’t help the small smile on her lips. Things had been weird for her ever since she’d found out about Octavia’s true parentage, she’d admit; she’d had to consider her feelings about it, O’s, and even the sister O had never known about, Senna’s. It had really screwed her up, to know she’d never even celebrated her real birthday, because her mom had been lying to her most of her life. The 4th of July had been one of her favorite holidays for as long as she could remember, right behind Christmas, but it was still weird to consider that it was the day before her birthday. Her mom would call her on Sunday, wish her a happy birthday, and they’d have another cookie cake ready (really, she figured she’d most regret giving the kids all this sugar this weekend) so that they could celebrate with Octavia and a couple of Lia’s closest friends. The only thing she would miss, as always, was the husband she’d loved, who she’d met (well, for the second time) on this holiday.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by Beckham. “Are you excited for the fireworks, mama?” She couldn’t help but smile as she nodded easily. “Super excited, Becks,” she answered, excitement clear in her voice. “Are you guys excited for this cookie in here?” she questioned, pointing to the bag she’d toted through the park. Both boys nodded eagerly, and she laughed. “Okay, then lets get this baby out of here before those fireworks start, how about it?” With that, she pulled it out and they chowed down. Later, they would watch the show, but for now, she decided to focus on the wonderful kids she was raising.
