I have never seen a home w/so many different styles as this 1997 mansion in Olympia Fields, Illinois. 7bds, 12.5ba, $3.499M. Clearly, they couldn't settle on one house design. The once-decaying property was brought back to life by the late Rudolph Isley of the The Isley Brothers, and his wife, Elaine. Check it out.
Tumblr media
They've tried to mix rustic lodge with very contemporary and provincial styles- looks like maybe the couple's tastes clashed and this is the architectural compromise that resulted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It begins with a modern rustic look great room with contemporary decor. I do like the idea of a red & white color scheme. Look, even the black keys on the piano are red. (I guess money can buy anything.)
Tumblr media
Modern office with a Baroque style desk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is different. The modern kitchen has a HUGE fancy French dining set for 20. Look at the size of the chandelier. The coffered ceiling is rustic. These compromises are way too much.
Tumblr media
Log cabin style sunroom.
Tumblr media
These rooms are too plain for such fancy furniture. It doesn't look right. Put up some wainscoting, a fireplace, something.
Tumblr media
The primary bedroom is disappointing. Rustic fireplace, red carpet and gray furniture.
Tumblr media
The en-suite has a modern stone / log cabin feature wall. It has such conflicting styles with starkly plain walls and floors.
Tumblr media
This Pirates of the Caribbean pool room is amazing, though.
Tumblr media
Look at the little shack, waterfall, and treehouse.
Tumblr media
Love this so much. Look at the lighting, too. I would buy it for this, alone.
Tumblr media
And, then we go to a huge brick man cave with a fireplace and kitchen area.
Tumblr media
Then, we go to an octagonal log cabin room. They have the same Bose stereo I have, on the fireplace (haven't used it in ages b/c it plays CDs).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the huge bedroom of a Bulls fan with an en-suite behind an open wall.
Tumblr media
And, here's a bedroom with a giraffe theme, but the only indication of that is some wallpaper.
Tumblr media
And, another family room.
Tumblr media
The home gym walled in glass.
Tumblr media
This home disturbs me. A room that looks like a basement- no windows. One fancy bed and carpet, plus a modern side table and armoire in sterile & stark white room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, then it switches to retro diner in the 2nd kitchen. I do love these appliances, though. At least put up some Coca Cola signs, neon, or some retro decor.
Tumblr media
The home theater needs some dark wallpaper and a black ceiling w/at least a popcorn machine. This home is too minimalist. I hope that a new buyer will spruce up the decor.
Tumblr media
The carpeted garage.
Tumblr media
Basketball court.
Tumblr media
The lot is 3.7 acres and includes a private pond.

Notes:
The episode timestamps might not be totally accurate since I was watching this on a... ahem... legal website.
The timestamps are from when you could clearly and obviously see the shop signs. Like, Ziga's is visible from like episode one but couldn't be clearly read.
Some of the comics were just in shop windows and not really associated with a character so be careful. That is not a list of every comic the turtles have read. Like the Timely Times has only been in the background, not read by a particular turtle.
There were LOADS of shops where the shop name was in Chinese (or Japanese, I don't know) and so I couldn't list. Most of the shops by the Chinatown arch weren't in english. That's why even Murakami's shop isn't listed here. Because the actual shop name wasn't in english.
Thanks for reading through this. Hopefully this was useful for... anyone out there.

Class of Heroes AU: More Headcanons!!!
As a treat, folks, after which I might be done for a few days. Unless I think of something I just HAVE to share, lol. Have some more Headcanons!
*Ondine is the youngest of seven daughters. Their names are Olivia, Ophelia, Octavia, Olga, Oona and Olympia.
*She and Kagami are in Mendeliev’s class (Yen Sid in this AU.) Her classmates, especially Denise and Aurore are protective of her because of her naïveté and lack of knowledge of the surface world. They and Kim have had to get her out of dangerous situations where her curiosity got the better of her.
*Kim was raised by his two mortal fathers after his uncle’s henchmen turned him into a mortal. (His biological parents are, of course, Zeus and Hera.) He buys them a huge house once he’s successful as a hero.
*Xuppu serves as Pegasus, but he actually likes Ondine because she’s just too darn sweet. He’s always nosing Kim out of the way to receive affection from her.
*Kim was NOT very well-liked back in his hometown for his lack of control over his strength. He was often shunned and called horrible names for the accidents he caused, as well as his lack of intellectual prowess. This, and his discovering his true heritage, was what made his fathers decide to send him to the school.
*In this AU, Kagami has three younger brothers: Daisuke, Daijiro, and Daiki. True to Brave, they are demon spawn. (Their father died in battle.)
*I’m changing something from a previous post: Plagg is still Mushu, but Tikki is now Cri Kee. She is silently judging you.
*Adrien does not fence in this AU. His preferred weapon is a certain cooking implement.
*Nino has a tendency to add ‘Bibbidi-Bobbidi’ before other B words. (“What a Bibbidi-Bobbidi bummer, bro!”) Some people think it’s funny, others find it annoying.
*Ivan has mild kyphosis(I had to look this up), which causes him to slightly hunch over and have mild to moderate back pain.
*Alya works jobs at diners before and after school to bring in extra money for her family. She is one of few students who work.
*Mylene has a habit of sometimes speaking in rhyme, especially when she’s really happy about something. Ivan thinks it’s very cute. (This is a nod to the original animated film.)
*Max likes to listen to Fall Out Boy (heh) while he works on his machines. What? Nerds can like rock music! (He is Hiro Hamada, to clear up confusion!)
*He transferred to Francois Preparatory Academy from a prestigious tech institution after an…incident that he doesn’t like to talk about.
*Sabrina (Pinocchio) was part of a puppet show as a young child. She often has nightmares about the abuse she suffered there, and Aurore is needed to come comfort her.
*Cosette is incredibly close with the other four members of their band, sharing a sibling-like bond. It calls and face-times with them on a regular basis, and has introduced them to all of her new friends.
*When Lacey gets especially angry, her face turns bright red and she’ll launch into a rant in ‘fairy-speak’ (the squeaking noises that the humans hear in the TB movies). Her wings also start fluttering rapidly and she sometimes slams into the ceiling…
*When Marc was young, he accidentally struck his younger brother, Kiran, with his ice magic. Their mothers, the queens, didn’t blame him, but sadly they died in a shipwreck only a few months later. After that, the cruel royal advisor convinced Marc that he was a dangerous monster and isolated him from the kingdom and his brother.
*Zoé has a list of 65 different chores she has to do for Chloé each day. They eat up a lot of her time, but not as much since her friends started helping her. They’re working on convincing her to make Chloé do them herself.
*Denise prefers to sleep outside amongst the trees, because it reminds them of their stump back home. Simon brought them a pillow and a blanket one night because he was worried about them.
*When Reshma is agitated by something or someone, you can tell because poison ivy starts sprouting up around her feet.
*Bustier is still a suck-tastic teacher. She will scold Kim and Marinette harshly for damage they cause completely by accident (her clumsiness and his strength), she berates Ivan for bad posture despite it literally being a physical health condition, she frequently suggests that Adrien should cut his hair because it looks too feminine, she regularly threatens Alix with legal action for incidents with her kleptomania despite her almost always returning what she takes, she forces Juleka to sit in the back of the room and doesn’t often allow her to speak lest she ‘frighten’ other students, she has outright referred to Sabrina as an ‘it’ (meaning an object, a non-living piece of wood, not the pronouns, which are completely valid.) and a ‘toy’ rather than a girl, and of course, she lets Chloé get away with everything.
I’m looking for ideas for Lila and Felix, baddie and anti-hero respectively, as well as a fitting new name for Mor’du. Be sure to check out my poll about Chloé!
*Edit: Mme. B*tch-ier has now been cast as Flora, the most insufferable of the ‘good’ fairies, in my opinion. (Let’s hear more applause for @artzychic27!)
That’s it for now! Whoo, I’ve been on a roll! As always, credit for @imsparky2002 and the aforementioned artzychic27, who created the Disney Villain AU that inspired this! You both rock!

Day 1, Saturday May 27: Ladysmith, Vancouver Island to Victoria BC by land, to Port Angeles, Washington by sea, to Discovery Bay, Olympia and Tacoma, Washington by land again, 314 km.
This will be a busy first day. Early Saturday morning, Janis packs her bags for her flight to Vancouver, and I pack the bike to begin my motorcycle ride to Victoria and the Blackball Ferry docks.
We leave the hotel together for the airport where we say our goodbyes, and she heads for her departure gate and I to Trans Canada Highway 1A to start my ride to Duncan, Cowichan, Malahat and Victoria.
It's a 100 km ride, and I make it in plenty of time. I'm the first motorcycle in line, and I readily clear customs to enter the US. With time on my hands, I retire to a nearby restaurant to have lunch and watch the waterfront. It's a beautiful day, and the harbour is alive with walkers, diners, boats of all shapes and sizes, and sea planes.
I rode this ferry last year, so when they summon us to board, I know the drill - drive to the motorcycle area, strap down the bike, and clear the vehicle deck.
I find a favourable vantage point on the rear passenger deck and as we pull away and Canada starts to fade into the distance, it hits home - all the planning, all the anticipation, all the excitement, it's here, it's now, this is really happening.
It's a beautiful, uneventful 42 km, 90 minute ride across to Port Angeles. Last year, my brother and I got lost and separated, so this year I'm prepared and know exactly where to go when we dock.
I head SE on East 1st Street towards State 101 and the scenic route down alongside Olympic National Park towards Discovery Bay and Olympia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Past Olympia, headed NE at Lacey on Interstate 5, across Puget Sound to Tacoma
Tumblr media
Checked into my luxury room with my own personal bottle opener
Tumblr media
Ooops, forgot this one

“Zeus. A curse on all those philosophers who will have it that none but the Gods are happy! If they could but know what we have to put up with on men's account, they would not envy us our nectar and our ambrosia. They take Homer's word for it all,—the word of a blind quack; 'tis he who pronounces us blessed, and expatiates on heavenly glories, he who could not see in front of his own nose. Look at the Sun, now. He yokes that chariot, and is riding through the heavens from morn till night, clothed in his garment of fire, and dispensing his rays abroad; not so much breathing-space as goes to the scratching of an ear; once let his horses catch him napping, and they have the bit between their teeth and are off 'cross country, with the result that the Earth is scorched to a cinder. The Moon is no better off: she is kept up into the small hours to light the reveller and the diner-out upon their homeward path.
And then Apollo,—he has his work cut out for him: with such a press of oracular business, it is much if he has any ears left to hear with: he is wanted at Delphi; the next minute, he must be off to Colophon; then away to Xanthus; then back at a trot to Clarus; then it is Delos, then Branchidae;—in short, he is at the beck of every priestess who has taken her draught of holy water, munched her laurel-leaf, and made the tripod rock; it is now or never; if he is not there that minute to reel off the required oracle, his credit is gone. The traps they set for him too! He must have a dog's nose for lamb and tortoise in the pot, or his Lydian customer departs, laughing him to scorn. As for Asclepius, he has no peace for his patients: his eyes are acquainted with horror, and his hands with loathsomeness; another's sickness is his pain. To say nothing of the work that the Winds have to get through, what with sowing and winnowing and getting the ships along; or of Sleep, always on the wing, with Dream at his side all night giving a helping hand. Men have to thank us for all this: every one of us contributes his share to their well-being.
And the others have an easy time of it, compared to me, to me the King and Father of all. The annoyances I have to put up with! the worry of thinking of all these things at once! I must keep an eye on all the rest, to begin with, or they would be making some silly mistake; and as for the work I have to do with my own hands, there is no end to it; such complications! it is all I can do to get through with it. It is not as if I had only the main issues to attend to, the rain and hail and wind and lightning, and as soon as I had arranged them could sit down, feeling that my own particular work was over: no, besides all that, I must be looking every way at once, Argus-eyed for theft and perjury, as for sacrifice; the moment a libation has been poured, it is for me to locate the savoury smoke that rises; for me it is to hear the cry of the sick man and of the sailor; at one and the same moment, a hecatomb demands my presence at Olympia, a battle in the plain of Babylon; hail is due in Thrace, dinner in Ethiopia; 'tis too much! And do what I may, it is hard to give satisfaction. Many is the time that all besides, both Gods and men of plumed helm, have slept the long night through, while unto Zeus sweet slumber has not come nigh. If I nod for a moment, behold, Epicurus is justified, and our indifference to the affairs of Earth made manifest; and if once men lend an ear to that doctrine, the consequences will be serious: our temples will go ungarlanded; the streets will be redolent no longer of roast meat, the bowl no longer yield us libation; our altars will be cold, sacrifice and oblation will be at an end, and utter starvation must ensue. Hence like a pilot I stand up at the helm all alone, tiller in hand, while every soul on board is asleep, and probably drunk; no rest, no food for me, while I ponder in my mind and breast on the common safety; and my reward? to be called the Lord of all! I should like to ask those philosophers who assign us the monopoly of blessedness, when they suppose we find time for nectar and ambrosia among our ceaseless occupations. Look at the mildewed, cob-webbed stack of petitions mouldering on their files in our chancery, for want of time to attend to them: look only at the cases pending between men and the various Arts and Sciences; venerable relics, some of them! Angry protests against the delays of the law reach me from all quarters; men cannot understand that it is from no neglect of ours that these judgements have been postponed; it is simply pressure of business—pressure of blessedness, if they will have it so.”

All’s Fail That Ends Well: part of the Odd Squad: Forever fic series
⌦ .。.:*♡
AN: Hello guys, so I’mma start writing fics circling my odd squad forever au! Odd Squad: Forever is basically Odd Squad but all the agents we know are adults now. I’ve started writing a script about it a long time ago, so now I’m writing fics. I apologize in advance because this fic might sound corny 🗿
Synopsis: Otis and Olympia’s takes a trip to the local diner, and Olympia reveals to Otis that her the past 2 weeks of work have been costing her.
“Coming through!” A voice echos across the maze of odd doors. Olympia ran through the hallway with a stack of letters in her hands. The letters she had were supposed to be mailed to clients, and she needed to mail them before the mailroom closed for the night. “Excuse me!” “Oh, sorry, my bad!” “Please forgive me, I’m in a rush!” Olympia exclaimed after she had bumped into a few people walking in the opposite direction. Her head turned down when she looked at her watch: 7:59. The mailroom closed at 8pm. If she didn’t make it to the mailroom in time, she would be considered “tardy”, and Olympia would have to write another “late statement” email to her boss.
“Almost there…”
When she finally had the mailroom door within eyesight, the mailroom worker was almost getting ready to lock the door.
“Hold it!”
Olympia yelled before she burst through the doorway, leaving various papers that were already in the mailroom go flying. She pulled down the small hatch and quickly stuffed the letters in before letting the hatch slam closed. “Trying to avoid sending that corny email, eh, partner?” A voice startled Olympia, and made her turn to her side. Otis was standing on the opposite side of the hatch door. His lips shaped into a slight smirk, before going back to his usual non-emotional look. “Oh, cut that out.” Olympia grumbled. She was a bit pissed off that Otis could find time to make a joke in such a close call. The red-haired gal put her hands on her knees, panting as a result of her running. “Why does the mailroom have to be so far? I feel like I’m burning calories every time I race down here.” Olympia whined. “Well, you only have to run down here every time you miss the mail cart…so…” Otis said, picking at his fingernails. “Hey-are you done? I have to close up shop you know. You two goons can finish your conversation out there.” The mailroom worker whined, his face having “frustration” written all over it. Olympia sighed and walked out of the mailroom, with Otis trailing behind. “I’m heading to the Confalones joint for dinner. You can join me if you’d like.” “Nah, I’m good. I’m tired, and I think I have the supplies for a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich at home.” Olympia said with a hint of exhaust in her reply. “Alright, suit yourself.”
⌦ .。.:*♡
When they got back to their desks, Olympia sat down at her computer, and Otis cleaned his desk up. The lights were halfway off around the building. They usually did that near closing, as an attempt to save energy. Otis grabbed his jacket that sat on the back of his chair and put it on. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed, but you’re kind of doing a shitty job with those return letters to our clients. You might wanna fix that. See you tomorrow, partner.” He said to Olympia before making his exit to the tube lobby. She sighed and clicked her pen anxiously while finishing up some paperwork. Otis was right—she was slacking. For the past 2 weeks almost all of her return letters have been borderline late, with a couple actually being late. She sighed and began filling in the blanks on her paperwork, leaving various comments in the sidelines of the paper. In the middle of her writing, her stomach growled quietly. She hasn’t ate since breakfast because she needed to finish up those letters. Maybe she should’ve said yes to Otis’ dinner invitation. Maybe yes was still an option, if he hasn’t gone off too far yet. It was then that Olympia stood up from her swivel chair and fast-walked to the tube lobby. “Has he left yet?” She asked O’Callaghan. O’Callaghan knew who she was talking about, because he glanced at Otis when he entered the lobby. “Just now left. You’re right behind him.”
“Oh, good.” Olympia sighed in relief, happy that her partner had not gone off far. “To the ground, please.”
“Sure thing.” O’Callaghan replied, letting Olympia step into the tube entrance before shouting “squishinating!” at the top of his lungs and pressing the big blue button at his side.
When Olympia made it out of the building, she spotted Otis, who had not walked too far from the entrance. “Otis!” She yelled. Otis, who was looking down at his phone, looked behind him to see his partner running to catch up to him. “Changed your mind, huh?” Olympia responded with a nod. “I was getting kinda hungry, I haven’t eaten since breakfast, and I think that peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich can wait, to be honest.” She said. “Cool. Are you okay? It’s cold out here and the only layer you have on is your work blazer.” Otis said. He didn’t hide his occasional worries about his partner. He wasn’t ashamed of it either. “No, I’m good, thank you though.” Olympia smiled at him, thanking him for the offer.
⌦ .。.:*♡
When they got to the diner, they stood in front of the building space for a while before entering. The bell that hung above the door rang when it was opened, alerting the waiter of the two’s presence. “Hi, just two? Well, follow my lead then.” The waiter said, grabbing two menus then leading the duo to their seats. He chose a booth that was one of the many booths sitting beside a large mural. Otis and Olympia sat down across from each other, and the waiter set their menus down in front of them. “I’ll be right back to take your drink order.” The brown haired waiter told them, before walking off to the kitchen. The duo went a while without saying anything to the other, and Olympia decided to break the silence. “Hey, thanks for allowing me to come with you. I appreciate it.”
Otis, who’s face was buried in the menu, only responded with an “mhm” followed by a nod. He was never the one to talk much, and was the polar opposite of his best friend and long time partner.
The waiter came back a little later. “Hello, I’m Nathan and I’ll be serving you. What would y’all like to drink tonight?” He said, with a notepad and pen in his hands. “Diet coke.” Otis responded. “I think a water would be fine for me.” Olympia followed. The waiter wrote down their drink orders, his pen making small scribbling noises as he wrote. “Are you ready to order?” Nathan asked the two. “Yeah, I’ll have the honey steak, medium rare. What’s the soup of the day for today?” Olympia asked. “The soup of the day is New England clam chowder.” Nathan replied. Olympia smiled in response. “I’ll have that as a side, then. Oh and as another side I’ll have carrots please.” “Alright, and for you, sir?” He turned to Otis. “I’ll take the shrimp and noodle salad, and I’ll have what she’s having when it comes to the soup side.” He said before sliding his menu to Nathan, who then took up both of the menus. “Alright, I’ll be back with your drinks!” He walked off with the menus the kitchen. He held the door open for an exiting waiter who had a couple of plates in his hands before walking into the kitchen himself.
⌦ .。.:*♡
Not too long later, Nathan came back with Olympia and Otis’ drink orders. He sat them down on the table in front of them, placing a straw beside each drink. “There you go.” He said. Olympia answered with a quick “Thanks” before he disappeared into the kitchen once again. Olympia looked at her partner, who was currently on his phone. His phone lit up his face, changing colors as he swiped through it. Olympia began bouncing her leg in anxiousness.
Otis looked up from his phone at his partner. One unique thing about Otis was that he could tell when something was wrong. “You okay?” He asked in concern. “You’re looking worried, also your leg is shaking the table.”
“Oh, sorry.” Olympia apologized. She had realized what she was doing and stopped. “It’s nothing.”
Otis saw straight through Olympia’s lie. “It’s not nothing, it’s something. Speak.”
“…okay…well…it’s just that work has been exhausting and stressful. For the past 2 weeks or so it’s been like this. At this point I don’t know if the cases have gotten more incomprehensible or I’m just getting dumber.” Olympia said, resting her chin on the palm of her hand.
“I certainly don’t think it’s the latter. Otis said. “Y’know you can ask me for help, right?”
“Yes but I don’t want you thinking I need your help every day. I’d rather try and do it on my own than to bother you.”
“Olympia—“
“Otis, I said I’m fine, I’ve got it.” Olympia said, smiling. “I’ve always got it.”
“Okay then…” Otis responded. The waiter’s timing was almost perfect, because a bit after Otis’ response, the waiter came back with their food.
After their dinner at the diner, Olympia and Otis decided to go ahead and part ways for the night. Otis went back to the headquarters’ parking garage to get his car and head home, while Olympia went back to headquarters to do some more work. O’Callaghan was reading a newspaper when she arrived, he was so focused that he almost didn’t see her. When Olympia got back to her desk, she scrambled some papers, resuming her unfinished work.
⌦ .。.:*♡
Otis has already been in bed when his clock read 1:21. For some reason he couldn’t stop thinking about Olympia and her work, so he got up, slid on his blazer over his pajamas, and drove to headquarters. When he arrived, O’Callaghan was asleep in his chair, newspaper on top of his head. Otis shook his head and chucked. As he walked into the main common area, he turned his phone’s flashlight on. Otis’ blue eyes widened at the scene in front of him: Olympia was sound asleep at her desk on top of her paperwork, her computer was in sleep mode, her hair was standing up like she rubbed a balloon with high static electricity on her head. Olympia had been overworking herself, and Otis could tell. He sighed before scooting Olympia and her chair to the side (being careful not to wake her), pulling his chair from his desk over, and doing the rest of her paperwork for her. She had skipped a lot of areas, even left some blank. He filled in those areas for her. Otis was done in no time, it was just about 2:45 am when he was finished. “Hey, Olympia, I’m finished.” He whispered, shaking his partner awake. She groaned and sat up, looking at Otis. “Otis? What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be asleep?”
“Yeah, but I was worried about you, so I came to see you. And I finished your work for you. To be honest, I hate seeing you stressed, and it was worrying for me.” Otis said to his half-asleep partner. “Y…you did? Thank you. I really appreciate it, and I appreciate you looking out for me.” Olympia said before yawning and falling back asleep on Otis’ shoulder.
At that point, Otis didn’t care that Olympia was currently using him as a pillow, because, honestly, he was just happy to help.

Character Intro: Orthosia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- The Opulent Miss by the people of Olympius
Ma by her son
diamánti mou by her boyfriend
Ms. Bougie by Dione
Age- 41 (immortal)
Location- Skyline district, New Olympus
Personality- She's a neurotic visionary who's extremely confident, extroverted, & conscientious. She can also be materialistic, selfish, and snooty. She's currently in a relationship.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of wealth her other powers/abilities include teleportation (through bank vaults), money mimicry, chrimatakinesis, and chrysopeia (being able to change anything into gold & back).
Her immediate family includes her son Chrysos (god of gold & riches). They've always had a close relationship. She lovingly used to call him "my golden prince" when he used to be a child. They don't get to see each other often because of their hectic schedules, so they mainly keep in touch through video calls and texts. She gave her son a loan to jumpstart his music career.
Orthosia's main abode is the penthouse apartment at Bolt Towers in the Skyline neighborhood of New Olympus. Her apartment is the embodiment of classic wealth & modernity with floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering panoramic views of the Lightning Harbor, the Panhellenios Statue, and Eaglepoint Park. The ceilings are 8 meters high where several ornate chandeliers hang from. There's also a state-of-the-art gym and security system, sculptured kitchen islands, an olympic sized heated pool, wine library, & white oak flooring with Imperial Gold accents. She also owns an apartment in The Parthenos Plaza, a stylish beach house on Shimmering Tail Island, and is currently overseeing the construction of her mansion that's being built in the state of Olympia. Orthosia often shuttles back & forth between her main apartment and her boyfriend's place.
She has an animal companion, a she-dragon named Starwing. The dragon is a slender beauty with mint green and glittering silver scales with silver-white horns, claws, & crests. Starwing is Orthosia's usual mode of transportation when traveling great distances. The dragon has an Imperial Gold collar that's studded with diamonds while the saddle is made out of the most exquisite leather.
Orthosia finds the scent of newly printed drachma bills to be nearly intoxicating.
She always carries 100,000 drachmas in cash on her person.
A go-to drink for her is champagne. She also likes classic martinis, diamond fizz, mimosas, gin & tonics, and white cosmopolitans. Her usual from The Roasted Bean is an olympian sized flat white.
Orthosia loves getting the buttery toasty baguettes from the goddess Aphrodite's boulangerie. More likely than not she'll frequent The Luxe (a high end eatery) for breakfast. Some her faves there include the thousand bagel (a plain bagel topped with whipped white truffle cream cheese along with goji berry infused riesling jelly & edible gold leaves) and the galore eggs benedict (which includes sevurga caviar, black truffles, mushrooms, & champagne creme fraiche). She also likes the meat loaded scrambled eggs (added with bacon, lamb, & sausage) with garlic home fries from The Hearthside Diner.
She normally wears her hair sleek and straight or in elegant updos. Her go-to hair product is the Olmorfia caviar anti-aging replenishing moisturizing shampoo. The shampoo contains pure caviar extract.
Orthosia loves giving fashion advice to her boyfriend's sister Aerin (goddess of the ethereal). She was the one who threw her a celebration party after Aerin's transition.
Her favorite thing to get from The Bread Box is the gourmet grilled cheese along with a salmon caviar salad.
She's one of the few to have a star on the Pantheon Walk of Fame as well as being one of the few goddesses to own the most expensive pair of heels from Diamond Ave. She's even in talks to have her own glamour doll collectible!
In the pantheon Orthosia is good friends with Favian (god of philosophy), Litismós (goddess of culture), Rhapso (goddess of sewing), Kéfi (goddess of mirth), Aígli (goddess of glamour), Hybris (goddess of insolence, hubris, & reckless pride), Aisa (goddess of lote & fate), Epimetheus (Titan god of afterthought), Dolos (god of deception & trickery), Apate (goddess of fraud & deception), Clymene (Titaness of fame & renown), Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), Bronte (goddess of thunder), and Astrape (goddess of lightning). Orthosia was the mentor to Tyche (goddess of luck).
She dislikes Penia (goddess of poverty) & her sister Ptocheia (goddess of beggary).
Some of her guilty pleasures include olympian sized fries & the mini pomegranate pie from Olympic Chef as well as the 24K chicken wings from The Crown, a high end restaurant.
Her main source of income comes from teaching economics at New Olympus University. For other means of income Orthosia models for/endorses Platinum Luminescence, Euryphaessa, Megaleio, Luxuria (the goddess Hera's fashion brand), Diamond Ave., ýfasma óneiro, and Heavenly Spark. She's also a writer of the finances section in The Oracle newspaper as well as being a contributing writer for The Acropolis Street Ledger. With Orthosia's personal endeavors, she recently released a limited edition parfum simply called Ploúsios. Only a thousand bottles have been made. The fragrance include notes of mint, white musk, pink pepper, magnolia, & jasmine. The product's three liter crystal bottle is adorned with pure Astrean Silver, 24K gold, and more than 3,000 precious gemstones. The parfum costs a million drachmas. She's also currently developing a business reality television show centered on prospective entrepreneurs making their business pitch to a panel of venture capitalists (investors in start-ups). Her boyfriend is already signed on as an executive producer. There has also been a limited edition credit card released inspired by Orthosia. The card is made of platinum with Astrean Silver plating and a solitary .235 carat diamond centered on the front. It weighs approximately five times as much as the conventional plastic credit card. The limited edition card aptly named the Pantheonic card is so exclusive- details about how one can become a cardholder haven't been released. Orthosia is also working with Hermes (god of roads, travelers, thieves, merchants, messengers, speed, trade, sports, borders, thoughts, communications, money, & luck) in developing digital currency.
When she gives out cash loans, she ascribes to two rules- that they're considered as gifts and that it only happens twice. The last loan Orthosia gave out was to Aisa (who was settling a gambling debt).
With her enourmous monetary wealth, Orthosia has given back to several charities & organizations. Recently, a scholarship has been made in her name.
A favorite frozen treat for her is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. She alongside Kéfi and Litismós pooled their money together to buy & share the most expensive sundae at The Luxe aptly called "Strawberries & Drachmas." The sundae includes candied strawberries, 24K gold flake toppings, whipped champagne cream, and bourbon vanilla ice cream. Other reasons for the hefty price (9.85 million drachmas) is the Imperial Gold serving spoons & the 10.06 carat royal blue diamond ring that's placed at the base of the dining plate. After a friendly competitive game of rock, paper, scissors, Orthosia won the ring. She wears it on her pointer finger.
Orthosia is currently dating Aplistos (god of avarice). She didn't think that there was a deity more materialistic & selfish as her until she met him. They initially met at a blowout extravanza at the Caduceus Palace casino and they met again at the Summer Solstice Ball where he asked her out while she was there with her boyfriend at the time, a mortal financier. Intrigued by his cockiness, Orthosia agreed. On their first date (which started as a ride on their dragons to Olympia), Aplistos presented her with a gift- a floor length hooded lynx fur coat with diamond buttons! After becoming Fatestagram official, they made their public debut as a couple at the Olympic Derby.
She has the largest collection of Diamond Ave. jeweled clutches. Kéfi got her the limited edition truffle fries clutch while her son gave her the billion drachma bill clutch for her birthday.
Orthosia has been a part of a few high stake poker games hosted by Euryale, one of the gorgon sisters.
Her all time favorite meal comes from The Crown- the Golden Burger (champagne infused gold dusted buns, whiskey infused liquid-smoked patties topped with king crab meat, black truffles, beluga caviar, & a garlic aoli) along with the crème de la crème pomme frites. The meal totals to 6,000 drachmas. She also likes steak that's well done smothered in onions, mushrooms, and black truffles.
In her free time Orthosia enjoys yachting, polo, ballroom dancing, working out, collecting antiques (artwork & jewelry), tennis, golf, playing poker, shopping, going to museums, going to the cinema, skiing (in the Underworld), clubbing, going to the theater, sunbathing, and dining out.
"Wealth is the ability to fully experience life."

2: Diane...?
My emotions have been so polarizing lately. I find myself getting irritated by the tiniest things, probably as an (unconscious) effort to entertain myself- as I don’t have much really going on at the moment. I mean- I DO, but I don’t. Being alone can be so sad and so scary but also refreshing. I don’t know if I have ever had to spend this much time just with myself, without distractions. It’s very hard, but I’m hopeful that it will pay off. In recent news, I started school up again. I’m going to Minnesota next weekend, which I am excited for. I just got back from Washington and it was an amazing experience.
The first full day that we were there (in Washington) was my birthday (!!!). I got the chance to drag my parents around the Snoqualmie area to see a few of the Twin Peaks sites.
This is what I recorded in my journal that day:
“9:30 PST AM
We ate at Bacco. I had biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs & bacon and earl grey tea.
11:00 PST AM
We went to Snoqualmie Falls (our first Twin Peaks site). It was beautiful - so many pretty trees and yummy wild berries! After we drove through the city of Snoqualmie and saw the Centennial Log.
Tumblr media
1:00 PST PM
We ate at Twede’s Cafe (The RR Diner) for lunch. I had a slice of cherry pie and a “damn fine cup of coffee” (that’s literally what they called it on their menu lol). The pie was delicious; the cup of coffee was just… fine.
Tumblr media
2:00 PST PM
We happened upon Reinig (Ronette Pulaski’s) Bridge and walked across. It was chilling.
2:30 PST PM
We visited the Dirtfish racing school - home of what once was the Twin Peaks sheriff department. They were very kind and even let me sit at the front desk! The receptionist turned on the Twin Peaks theme and it truly made my day. They even had a Twin Peaks Bronco outside of the school!
Also- the sawmill was right across the street! A lot of it has actually burned down, but it was neat to see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3:30 PST PM
Our last Twin Peaks stop was The Roadhouse with the “Book-house” (the book house boys), which was essentially just a shed, next door.”
It was a beautiful and slightly disorienting experience.
We went to an Italian restaurant for dinner and I had lasagna.
The next day we met up with my parents’ college friends in Olympia. They had the most beautiful backyard. It was filled with blackberries. There was a river below, if you could manage to walk through the thorny bushes (I could not). Their house was very neat and very carefully decorated, with interesting paintings covering their walls. We went out into the ocean on a boat to see the Orcas, but unfortunately we had missed them. We caught a glimpse of some sea porpoises and Mount Rainer, which were both beautiful.
On the last day we travelled Seattle and met up with my uncle. We went to Pike’s market. On the way there we passed the gum wall (ew). We rode the big ferris wheel on the pier, which made me a little queasy. After, we went to the MoPop. My favorite part was the section dedicated to horror movies. There were costumes and props from The Thing, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th, The Shining, and more. Then we went to this cool Taiwanese restaurant and I tried soup dumplings for the first time. They were very good.
In other news:
- I watched the entire scream franchise for the first time
- My therapist is really good and I like her
- I have written a lot of music lately!
- I watched Drop Dead Gorgeous on an airplane and enjoyed it very much
I hope you are well. I miss you all very much. If you took the time to read this, thank you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to talk:)

Billy Goat Tavern
The famous Olympia Diner scene from SNL, come to life! http://www.johnnyprimesteaks.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Billy-Goat-Tavern-old-WB-fixed-1.mp4 I have to say, I expected this burger to suck, seeing as though this place is definitely somewhat of a tourist trap, and the meat to bun ratio seemed way off. That’s why I went with the triple. Boy was I wrong in my assumptions. The burger was…

Hi! I was wondering if you’ve ever seen the Olympia Cafe/Cheeseburger Cheeseburger Saturday Night Live skit about the Greek diner that only serves cheeseburgers, chips, and Pepsi back from the 70s? It’s hands down one of my favorite Saturday Night Live skits. I also like it because it doesn’t come from a place of “we’re going to make fun of Greeks and stereotype them” but it’s based on John Belushi’s, who was the main actor in the skit and whom I love deeply, dad/family who are Albanian immigrants and his dad had a restaurant just like that and acted like that. Poking fun at your family is much different than deciding to poke fun at a culture ahah.
I hadn’t seen it so I searched it on youtube! It’s entertaining, although it’s not funny to me because 1) I don’t vibe with 70′s humor 2) I was never in a Greek dinner in the US so it’s not relatable (as opposed to someone who had that experience). I barely laughed twice, sorry :(
But the sketch is fine! I could definitely see Greeks in the 70s running the place like this, especially because there are some restaurant owners in Greece - seen in Greek Kitchen Nightmares - who have this “to my balls” attitude. Many Greeks in the 70′s didn’t have the best business practices and even today they can be a bit all over the place (Link).
Shit, I badmouthed as a bit, eh? 😂 Family members owned restaurants, pites and gyros shops, and a bakery and I know you can “cheat” your customers for a quick profit. (The family members who followed good practices were the most successful btw). I guess knowing the bad practices I can detect them more easily and I detest them. I can rarely laugh at them because I don’t like being cheated on in something as important as food, and I can see how those practices can be bad for customers and owners alike.
One practice I like and I don’t like is “the customer doesn’t always come first”, meaning that if the place doesn’t serve something, you can’t ask for it. The woman in the sketch asked for boiled meat while the restaurant didn’t have the place or the personnel for that. The funny part for Americans would be “omg they gave her the wrong meat, and it's her fault because she didn’t observe how the place works”. For Greeks, the joke starts a bit earlier, the first time the woman asked for boiled meat. I was like “HONEEEYYY you came to the wrong place. If you manage to get boiled meat here you are free to come and pierce my nose” 😂 But I said I like this practice because it also protects the personnel from doing to much and getting exhausted because of customers’ whims.
That being said, many Greeks make chaos work. (And this is the entertaining part of the sketch, seeing everything run, despite the “anarchic” environment). They may seem unorganized or unorthodox in their methods abroad but they manage to produce good food consistently. They have the “meraki”. There are good experiences to be found in Greek restaurants and diners and the owners are usually very friendly.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk on Hellenic owned food business!
