summary: you find your victor with smudge makeup when you visit her cabin one night and help her remove it

cw: fluff, sitting on katniss's lap

"katniss" you called out as your knuckles throbbed from banging on the door to her cabin, you stepped back as the rush of air hit you and the door retracted sideways into the wall

"yes?" she answered, drowsiness tugging her eyes and face bloated from sleep as she leaned against the wall

your eyes searched her face before landing on the mess smudged around her eyes.

it wasnt just drowsiness stuck on her, it was makeup too.

"did you just go to sleep? no wash-up?" you questioned as her face turned from your unknowing insult

"-your face" you tried to correct but the scowl only grew deeper as you tried to save yourself from offending the victor even more

"makeup! did you remove all your makeup?" you almost shout as the word comes back into your brain and you struggle to speak, she rubs her eyes as you assume they must be itchy from all the dried mascara she just left

"...yeah?" her brow was raised as her foot inched closer to her bed, ready to pounce after a quick goodnight to the annoying stylist

"you didn't remove all the makeup, let me help." you try a softer approach and she seems to give in as her hand blocking the entrance fell and she made room for you to come in

"how long will it take?" she grimaced, probably assuming it would take just as long as it did to put on

"not long- how do you usually remove your makeup?" you ask as you reach over to unhook the miniature makeup bag on your belt, placing the dramatic ombre bag on her nightstand as she plopped on the bed

"I just shower?" you cringe at her confession and move to look at her foundation-stained cheeks and dark-smudged eyes

you motion for her to stand and she reluctantly does, you walk into the bathroom and she drags herself to follow. you crouch and dig in the cabinet until you find unopen soap and start tearing the paper coverings

you held it under the warm water of the sink before suds started sliding down your wrists, you spun around and she flinched when you brought your fingers to her face

"I'm just gonna wash your face, it'll be less itchy" you reassure and she nods

your fingers rubbed onto her cheeks, moving up onto her eyebrows before delicacy going over her eyes. the bubbles clouding her face quickly turned tan and black as the makeup came off smoothly.

"don't open your eyes yet." you ordered as you reached for the washcloth and soaked it in the warm water, turning back to her you swiped it against her until the soap was cleared

"can I open them?" "yes." you guided her back to the bed and to your colorful bag as you dug through products

"you can sit, these are the last couple of things..." you said as you pulled the wipes from their cushiony packaging. moving back to her you climbed on the bed as she closed her eyes. rubbing the wipe on her lashes to collect the last bits of mascara, you struggled to find a good position to keep still

"hold on- I just-" you mumbled as you tried to move comfortably before having your knees on either side of her lap without fully sitting on her, her hands gripped your hips instinctually and her soft fingers kept you put.

her eyes were still shut as she waited for you to continue and you snapped out of your haze and moved back to her lashes

"last step" you whispered against her as your arm stretched back to grab the mini bottle of lotion you kept

you massaged it into her face as her eyes got more droopy by the second, relaxing into your hand as you swiped the cream into her pores

her skin glowed, thankful for the hydration and you were tempted to stay put but ultimately moved up to start packing your things away

her eyes fluttered open as you zipped and clipped the bag onto your belt

"goodnight, katniss" you said before she smile and nodded back at you

Dark smoke curls all around you, the black ash clogging up your nose and choking your throat. The sound of sirens is muffled in your ears. The base of your skull feels like it's split in two, a sharp pain blooming on the back of your head. Your eyesight is blurry but you can just make out the body writhing around on the ground.

You're hurt and blood seeps out of your wounds. You should be dead. You shouldn't be able to move, but here you are struggling to breathe. The acrid air in your lungs burns. Your vision tinges red. You can't help but watch as the body across the street from you sits up, rotten eyes fixed on your own.

It's jaw unhinges as it lets out an unearthly scream. It's hungry– no not hungry, ravenous– filthy drool dripping down it's chin. In a flash it descends upon you.

Starving.

Yearning for something to eat.

Desperate.

Yearning for food.

Famished.

Yearning to tear your flesh apart.

In your senior year of high school, you remain the sole survivor of a brutal car crash that kills your father. Grief stricken, your mother decides that it's time for a fresh start. You soon find yourself shipped away to the other side of the country in bustling New York City; a completely different world from your previous rural Louisiana town.

A fish out of water, you're content with staying in the comfort of your own bedroom, living out your life in complete solitude. However, fate has other plans and after four years of isolation, you are forced to leave your room and venture into the outside world.

You just had to pick the day when everything goes to shit, didn't you?

The dead have begun to rise, violent and angry and desperately ravenous for human flesh. Finding yourself separated from your mom, you team up with an unlikely group of survivors as you begin your journey across a ruined New York in hopes of safe haven.

Who knows what might happen when the dead wake?

Javier Delgado | he/him | 23 | ISTJ-T | Puerto Rican American

Javier has short, dark brown hair that curls just slightly around the edges. His down turned eyes are light brown and speckled with green. His golden tawny skin is lightly smattered with freckles across his cheeks. Javier is 5'10" and he has a thin, lanky build which makes him seem much taller than he really is. A pair of plastic-rimmed, light green glasses sit on his hooked nose. He says that they're just for reading but in truth, his eyesight just really sucks. His thick eyebrows are almost constantly furrowed, causing people to think that he’s always upset. Javier favors more muted, earthy toned colors in what he wears. He's not particularly fashionable however, wearing whatever is clean and comfortable.

Carmen Bautista | she/her | 23 | ESFJ-A | Filipina/Brazilian American

Carmen has long, wavy hair that stops just below her shoulder blades. Her hair is dark brown turning into a blonde ombre the further down it goes. She normally keeps it pulled back into a low bun or a French braid. Her wide eyes are almond shaped and dark brown. Carmen’s olive skin is completely flawless. Her full lips seem to be set in a perpetual smile, showing off the deep set dimples on her cheeks. She is 5'9" and has a plump, hourglass figure. She can normally be found wearing jewelry. However, Carmen doesn't wear rings, saying that she prefers to keep her hands free of any obstructions. She does have her nails painted a bubblegum pink though. Carmen favors pastel colors and soft clothing that she can easily move around in.

Max Friedman | she/they | 22 | ISTP-A | Jewish American

Max has wildly curly, dark copper hair that reaches just below their ears which is choppy since they cut it themself. Their eyes are a pale stormy gray and droopy, giving them a sleepy appearance. However, paired with her thin lips that seem to be constantly set into a scowl, it only highlights Max's less than friendly demeanor. Max has pale skin with warm undertones. She's covered from head to toe in freckles. They have a small cut on the right side of their upper lip. Their nose is slightly crooked, having broken it from a skateboarding accident. She's the shortest out of the group (not including Gwen), standing at 5'2" and she has a lithe build though the baggy clothes she wears make it seem that Max is skinnier than she really is. They carry around a skateboard wherever they go.

Eun-Woo Park | he/him | 20 | ESTP-T | South Korean

Eun-Woo has short, pencil-straight black hair that's been styled into an undercut, his bangs left longer than the rest. Thick eyelashes rim his monolid eyes. The irises are a brown so dark that they're almost black. Eun-Woo's milk white skin is spotted with moles, the most notable being the two that sit underneath his left eye. His hands are covered with old calluses and jagged scars mar his knuckles. Eun-Woo stands at 5'7" and has a sinewy, toned build. His ears are double pierced and he has a helix piercing on his right ear. Eun-Woo's nails are painted black. He likes wearing black clothing however, he always wears a red SSG Landers cap along with a NY Yankees letterman jacket.

Derek Campbell | he/they | 24 | ISFP-A | African American/Caucasian

Derek has dark brown, shoulder length dreads. The ends are dyed a light honey brown though he's constantly changing the color. He normally keeps his dreads tied back in a loose ponytail or bun. Their full lips seem to always be set in a sweet smile. Their dark brown eyes are round and wide set, emphasizing their friendly demeanor. Light stubble softens their sharp jaw. Derek has light brown skin, having two scars on his face: one that runs down the corner of his left eyebrow and the other running across the bridge of his nose. He's the tallest of the whole group, standing at 6'5" and his chubby, thick-set build seems imposing at first. They're really just a big marshmallow though. Derek seems to favor more athletic wear, though they'll wear whatever feels comfortable to them. They like bright colors, especially pink and yellow.

Elijah/Elizabeth Watts | he/him or she/her | 26 | ENTJ-A | African American

Eli has dark umber skin with cool undertones. Jagged, old scars crisscross all over their body. They have a full sleeve tattoo of a snake surrounded by lotus flowers on their left arm. F!Eli has long, tightly coiled black hair which she normally keeps tied back into a low ponytail or a braided bun. M!Eli has short, tightly coiled black hair that's cut into a fade, his coils either left free or tied back into cornrows. Even if they're not upset, Eli's eyes seem to be constantly narrowed, the warm honey brown irises standing out against their dark skin. Their full lips hide a gap-toothed smile. Both M!Eli and F!Eli stand at 6'0". They have a toned, muscular build. They wear no makeup or jewelry, other than the dog tags that they keep hidden underneath their clothes.

Gwen Nguyen | she/her | 10 | Vietnamese American

Gwen has warm toned, honey skin and wide, black eyes. Her chubby cheeks are dusted red, only further highlighting her innocent appearance. However, the sneaky rude gestures and hidden eye rolls show that she's much more cheeky than she looks. Gwen likes to wear anything soft and pastel colored. She always has her favorite pink bear plushie with her. Gwen is also deaf, so she wears a pair of sparkly hearing aids. Other than using sign language, she also communicates with a small whiteboard that she keeps tucked away in a pastel yellow backpack.

Pa and Ma Hazel:

Pa is a 10 year old German shepherd and Ma Hazel is an 11 year old cocker spaniel. Pa is short coated and his fur is a dark sable color with his underside being a honey brown. His muzzle is also lightly streaked through with gray. Ma Hazel is medium coated and her fur is a brown roan. Her muzzle is also slightly graying and her nose is spotted. In lieu of collars, Pa wears a forest green bandana around his neck. Ma Hazel doesn't wear a collar at all.

at the end of everything is an urban fantasy story about loss, grief and everything that comes after. you play as yourself, returning back to your small home town of possum’s creek, indiana five years after the incident which made you leave.

as your reconnect with your family, your old friends and yourself, you realize that there’s something more to the creek than meets the eye.

a.k.a., the story that’s been done a million times with an urban fantasy twist.

GENRE(S): supernatural, horror, urban fantasy

INSPO: night in the woods and stranger things

THE DUNGEON MASTER - harley is the guy who introduced you to d&d when you were younger. two years older than the rest of you, he’d take on the role of the dungeon master, staying up all night just to write fun campaigns for you lot. he’s a care free, laid back, goes with the flow kind of guy, with enough creative juices to fill an ocean. he hasn’t changed a bit since you left.

harley is 5’10” ft tall and has pale, pinkish skin covered in a myriad of freckles. he has brown, wavy shoulder length hair, which cups his face and shoulders, the bangs falling just above his eyebrows. his eyebrows are thick and expressive. his eyes are dark brown, almost black, and they’re super easy to get lost in. he can always be seen wearing yellow tinted aviators and a loose fitting tanktop. he has a black handkerchief in his left pocket.

harley uses he/him pronouns and is homoromantic demisexual, and can be romanced by male players. can be in a poly w/ the barbarian, for male mcs. also, before you ask, harley is 100% inspired by eddie munson.

THE BARBARIAN - bastion used to be your best friend, closer to you than the rest of the party. he would play the role of the barbarian, surprising as he always used to be quiet and unassuming, unnatural for an orc. out of everyone, he’s changed the most, becoming a cop and also finding his confidence somewhere when you were gone. now, he seemingly hates you and always look at you with disdain.

bas is 6’5” ft tall and has brown skin, with a light dusting of freckles on his nose. his hair is dark brown and styled into locs, cascading down to his midriff. he has thick eyebrows with a split in the left one. his eyes are light green and they always have a mean look in them. like all orcs, he has sharp ears and two tusks jutting from his bottom row of teeth. he rarely can be found outside of his police uniform, and when he is he opts to wear a green camo jacket and pants.

bas uses he/him pronouns and is panromantic pansexual, and can be romanced by a player of any gender. can be in a poly w/ the dungeon master, for male mcs.

THE BARD - seraphim was always the group’s loud mouth. they played as the bard, the role suiting them perfectly. whenever they weren’t bothering or playing with you lot, they could be found strumming their guitar. they’re loud and proud, with an obsession with metal music and 80s culture. they were, quote and quote, born in the wrong era. they haven’t changed much, working at a diner by day and shredding their guitar in their band at night.

sera is a 6’1” tiefling with light gray skin, with ram horns protruding from their head, curling around their sharp ears. their horns and ears ombre into black at the ends. their hair is blood red and feathery, usually slicked back. their eyebrows are thin and round. their eyes are chocolate brown surrounded by thick red eyelashes. they usually wear leather jackets on top of tank tops. they have scars on their chest from top surgery.

sera uses they/them pronouns and is afab. they’re panromantic pansexual and can be romanced by a player of any gender.

THE PALADIN - you were never close to rue, the lycan who played as the paladin. she was harley’s friend, and only played because harley asked. she was always quiet and stoic, never really engaging with any of you. from what you can see, she’s not changed much, except she’s more outspoken.

rue is 5’7” and a lycan, with olive skin. she has fluffy blonde hair which falls around her shoulders, styled in a wolf cut. her eyebrows are thin and plucked, but aren’t that expressive. her eyes are light blue. she has various tattoos on her forearms and chest. she usually wears layers, not really comfortable showing her skin.

rue uses she/her pronouns and is bisexual biromantic, and can be romanced by male or female players.

THE FIGHTER - kirk was always like a puppy in a giant, minotaur body. besides bas, they were one of your best friends. they played as the fighter, which suited them well. they were always happy-go-lucky, optimistic and always brightened whatever room they walked into. they haven’t changed much, besides becoming 100% more charming.

kirk is a 6’8” minotaur, a person with a bull’s head and tail. their fur is light brown and extremely fluffy, with darker brown speckles on their muzzle and ears. their nose is strawberry pink with brown spots. their tail is the same color as their fur, ending with dark brown fluff. their body is built and extremely muscled, their skin being beige and covered in freckles. they’re usually wearing button up shirts and sweaters, which is the easiest thing for them to put on, thanks to their horns.

kirk uses he/they pronouns and is not a relationship option.

THE ROGUE - isobel has never liked you. the only reason she stuck around to play d&d was because of her fat crush on bastion, one which hasn’t gone away, even all these years later. she played as the rogue, which in your eyes suited her perfectly. to everyone else she was as sweet as could be, though to you she was the complete opposite.

isobel is a 5’3” human with freckled, tawny skin. she has curly, hip-length hair which is dish-water blonde. she usually has it pulled back into a low ponytail, with little wisps cupping her face. her eyebrows are thin and expressive. her eyes are dark green, with gold flecks in them. she’s all about fitness, so of course she’s somewhat muscled. she can usually be found wearing crop tops and sweat pants.

isobel uses she/her pronouns and is not a relationship option.
