Ondo Lady Begins 150 Hours Cook-a-thon To Break Guinness Records
An Ondo chef identified as Adeola Adeyeye has begun a 150-hour cook-a-thon in an attempt to break Hilda Baci's Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
This is coming after another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola aka Chef Dammy embarked on a 120-hour cook-a-thon in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Adeyeye began the cook-a-thon on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State and is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

I’m in a weird spot. I have thoughts on what happened in Nigeria that’s more than “it’s awful what happened there” and I’d like to say it, but it’s kind of personal and I’m kind of afraid of saying too much.
All I will say is that so far the only charity I can recommend that can help are local refugee charities. If you look up your state and “refugee charity” you should find a .gov website that details what you can do to help.
I dunno how common these are in school but when I was in high school there were these “extra food for charity” boxes. I’d dump whatever unopened bag of snacks I got with my lunch that day in there (like chips and pretzels) because I guess that was allowed. (You can ask where those go to if you’re not sure.)

"I have sssseen that we unsettle you. Why isss that?"
Jarred out of her thoughts Gaelle jumped slightly and turned to face the ondo that had walked up behind her; beyond it she could see a cluster of four more, staring in their direction. This one was smaller than the others she'd spoken to and while she was doing her best to pick out individual characteristics to tell them all apart she was fairly certain she'd never spoken to this one before.
"I- I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude."
"I do not think it rudenessss. I am told most finless onesss react the same way at first and I have never learned why."
She blew out a sigh. "Well..." Honestly, the ondo were a lot nicer than they'd anticipated; she and the Scions were well-acquainted with the sahagin back home and while relations were improving the sight of one still set her on edge as memories of almost being dragged off the boat by one of Leviathan's followers surged to the forefront of her mind. "-I've met your kind before -- far, far away from here, and while I know those are not of your tribe it's a fear that's hard to shake."
The ondo's fins quivered and it tapped a talon against its lower teeth. "I sssee. Why would they do that? The finlessss have the sssurface, and we the depths. Until you and yoursss arrived I had never even seen a finlesss one before."
Gaelle smiled slightly. "It's...a long and unfortunate story but to put it simply it was an ongoing religious and territorial dispute. Things were getting better when I left but the memories linger."
"Interesting. My thanksss, finless one. I ssshall strive to be...less ssscary should I find myself at the sssurface."
She laughed softly. "I don't think you need to worry -- not everyone has been through what we have."
The ondo's fins twitched and it turned to plod off toward the small group that had been standing there watching. Gaelle could see them gesturing, fins waving, and more than a few glances in her direction, then the group headed off into a ruined building that she knew led to a grotto where the ondo liked to congregate and relax.
Hopefully the ondo's assurance that her unease wasn't rude would hold true for however many more it spoke to.
