Simon Riley crying and praying for the first time in years bc you're hospitalized
(self indulgent as fuck, based off of personal medical history bc it'll be more accurate)
You hadn't ate or drank for 5 days, unable to keep anything down. You thought it was the flu at first. Fevers, puking, extreme fatigue. It didn't seem like anything out of the norm. Except for when your fevers started casing full body convulsions that made you look possessed. Chills and cold sweat turned to groaning and crying, muscles all over cramping and clenching, breathing becoming difficult. You figured it was because you hadn't had the flu in years. How wrong you had been.
Once your puke turned green, which was later found out to be bile from your kidneys, Simon rushed you to the hospital. Unable to stand, he pulled a wheelchair from the entrance and pushed you everywhere. Within 2 hours, the nurses had you admitted and on IV meds. Pain meds, IV Tylenol, and bags of fluid were hooked up to you, rehydrating you being high priority. Your body is in shock, resting heartrate being 140. He sat by your side the entire time, holding your puke bag in one hand, and your hair back in the other. The doctors drew blood, running blood cultures, searching for a more accurate answer.
The night you were admitted, they informed you that your kidneys were so infected that one got injured. The bile that was thrown up was caused but how hard you were puking, pulling it up from your kidneys.
He stayed the night, sleeping in the rocking chair, right next to your bed. He woke up when your fevers came back, holding your hand and telling you how good you're doing, calling in a nurse. The morning that followed, he had to go back to the house to make a bag of your immediate needs, clothes, deodorant, hairbrush, and anything else he could think of. When he came back, a doctor and a couple med students came in with important news.
"We ran blood cultures to see if there was possible an infection in your blood due to your symptoms leaning towards that. They came back positive. We are going to give you antibiotics and run cultures every 12 hours to track if the antibiotics are working" The doctor says as gently as possible.
The room begins to feel like it's spinning. Sepsis has a 68% mortality rate, and knowing how deadly it is, it feels like you're already being buried. Simon looks to you with a confused look, not knowing exactly what that it, but knowing it isn't good.
"I have sepsis?" You ask in a quiet voice, throat constricting.
"Yes" The doctor says softly.
"Oh fuck I'm gonna die" you whisper under your breath, tears forming.
Simon looks to you, eyes widening. 'Not again'
"Wait, the hell is Sepsis?" He demands, but not sounding confident, more scared than anything.
The doctor explains it to him, how it when your blood is infected, how the infection can latch onto your other organs and slowly kill you from the inside out. Once it reaches your brain, it's too late. His grip on your hand tightens. The doctor tries to give hope, but she can only do so much without lying. She leaves to give you privacy.
It's silent, neither of you speaking out of shock. The only noise in the room is the quiet hum of the IV machine and Simon's shaky breathing. Your thumb softly glides back and forth over the back of his hands, trying to ground him.
"Si" you softly call.
It takes hour to get him to loosen up a little. It's only when you manage to keep down a popsicle that he feels like he can breath a little easier. Like maybe you'll be part of the 32% that pull through.
That sliver of hope is crushed that night, being woken up by his arm being slapped repeated by you in a panic. His eyes meet yours, concern instantly written on his face. Your hand is on your chest as short, sharp breaths are the only thing you can manage.
"I,, can't,, breath,," you whisper between breaths, unable to say a sentence in one go.
"Baby it's alright, jus' try to breath wit' me, hm?" he tries to demonstrate slow breathing, mistaking it for a panic attack.
"not a,, panic,, attack,, please,, nurse,," you try to tell him.
He nods in a panic, running out to the nurse station and explaining. They rush in and take your pulse-ox just to see your oxygen percentage is at 86% when it should be above 95%. They try to do the deep breathing again before Simon interrupts them.
"It's not a bloody panic attack, she literally can't breath. Get her oxygen or somethin' before she fuckin' suffocates!"
They put you on oxygen until they can get you an X-ray. The nurses try to chalk it up to a panic attack until in the morning they see you still can't breath. They give you an X-ray and when the results come back, they send the doctor in. She informs you that the nurses gave you too much IV fluid and that caused your organs to swell so much that they pushed up on your lungs, collapsing them by 3/4ths. 1/4th of your lungs are still open and they're going to take you off fluid, start you on exercises to open them back up, and keep you on oxygen.
That's the last straw for Simon. Once you fall asleep for a nap, he heads outside to the bench area and punches a wall. His knuckles split but he barely feels it, ringing in his ears drowning out the surrounding noise. With no one around, he sits on a bend, elbows on knees and face in his hands. His breath picks up as his throat tightens and tears threaten to rip out of him.
"Why would ya let this happen to 'er? Aren't you supposed to be lovin'?" He whispers into the wind, looking up at the sky, "That girl in't like me. She's the fuckin' sunshine in human form and she's on death's bloody doorstep."
Tears cloud his vision, unable to keep it in any longer. He blinks them away, falling onto his clenched fists. Years of praying, to a god he later grew to resent, for him to fix his family. A child kneeling at his bed, begging him to get his family out of his father's grasp. Once he got to his teenage years, his desperation became resentment and anger. His jaw began to clench when his drunken father would spew bible verses at him to condemn him. He realized God wouldn't save him, nor would he when Simon's family was ripped from him.
Yet here he was, back to that same god, desperate that maybe, just maybe, he'd have mercy on him this time. He believed himself a rotten man, even if it was subconscious, unworthy of the angel sent to him. His light, reparations for the mistreatment The Father had destined for him.
"You sent 'er to me, it's gotta be for a reason. You've never listened to my prayers before but just this fuckin' once, please don't ignore me." His voice breaks, openly sobbing with no sound, "You sent 'er to me and now I can't live without 'er. She's fuckin' everythin' to me. Don't take back your gift, please" The end of his sentence slips into a whisper.
He wipes his tears on his sleeve and sniffles hard, trying to erase the evidence of his vulnerability. He stands and walks to the door, looking back at the bench before turning back to the door and walking in. 'Amen'

*ੈ✩‧₊˚✧VALENTINES DAY CONFESSIONS
❥ James!potter x reader (You've had a crush on James for months now, he finally gets the nerve to ask you to be his Valentine, only to find you were on your way to ask him.) Word Count: 700
Tumblr media
"Jus' don't know if she'll like it!" James was in the common room discussing his singular girl problem with his friends. "I mean we've been friends for a while, but I still don't even know if she likes me!"
Sirius who was languidly laying across one of the armchairs nearby rolled his eyes as he answered, "Your delusional if you don't see it."
"He's right James, she really does like you, laughs at every one of your bad jokes enough." even Remus had enough of his jabbering, most of their conversations almost always ended up with James bringing up your name.
He was blushing at even the mention of you liking him back, "What if she already has a Valentines though? What if she doesn't really like me? What if-"
"Give her the Valentine!" It was Pete, laying on the ground in a star-fished position, he'd almost drifted off into a sweet sleep before he was woken once more by James' worried voice.
He got up from the couch he'd been stationed at, quickly and quite bravely if he said so himself heading for the door. "Fine. But if I get my heart broken you will all be very sorry!"
As he left they all let out a collective sigh, they'd been attempting to convince him all week, maybe, just maybe if they could finally get you two together, they'd get some peace and quiet.
When James gets to you he's panting, having ran down several flights of moving stairs to reach you. You had come to the library to return some of the books you'd borrowed to study, he knew this since he was the one who offered to help you, just so he could spend more time with you.
"Y/n!" He tried to look casual, all the same hiding the gift behind his back as he approached your figure.
"Oh, hey Jamie!" you eyes were bright and your heart fluttered at his flushed cheeks.
"Have you got any plans for the day?" He was hoping your answer was no, so he could take you on a proper date, something you deserved.
"M'no don't think so, why?"
"W-well I was just hoping, since you're free, and its Valentines day..." your heart beat faster as he continued, you'd waited months for him to realize you liked him back.
"Well maybe you could, or rather we could, w-would you be valentine?" He swears you're the only to ever make him this nervous.
When he see's your pleased expression however he gets a surge of confidence taking out your gift and handing it to you, a beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers accompanied by a small box of chocolates.
"Yes!" Your reply comes far too quickly, but you couldn't care less, taking out the small card and chocolate box you'd gotten him from your bag.
You shove it towards him as he gapes at you, "I-What-What is this?"
"Well, you were taking far too long, I mean I went to every one of your quidittch matches, pretended I needed help studying so you'd offer, laughed at every single joke of yours, godric I even went to your friends for help!"
"I never thought you'd like me!" He was bright red, how had he not seen it this entire time?
"Jamie I laugh at every single one of your jokes." You were exasperated, how had you fallen for such a sweet oblivious boy?
"Is that supposed to be an insult? Cause if I'm being honest it sounded-"
You stop his jabbering, placing the gifts on the table nearby and pressing your soft lips to his. Your heart melts as his hand comes to caress your cheek as if you're the most delicate flower in the world.
Because to him, you were.
When you pull back you're both grinning so hard your faces hurt.
"S'not and insult, just a fact." And it was, you would laugh at everyone of his jokes, no matter how ludicrous or ridiculous they were, you found him funny. And charming, and kind, and beautiful, and perfect, perfect for you.
"Well then, my Valentine, shall we begin our date?" He held out his arm as you smiled sheepishly at his name-calling.
"We shall."

✧ Itadori, megumi and sukuna, I'll write nanami, gojo and toji in the next one of you guys like this
Summary❕Saying I wish I didn't love you to them during a fight
CW❕None, just all angst no comfort
Tumblr media
❕ITADORI
- It had been a long night, it was rare for the two of you to fight, especially this intensely, but all your building emotions come crashing down when he comes back home late from another mission. You'd been worried sick that he was hurt, or had met a worse fate.
- It seemed to be the last straw that broke the camels back as you couldn't help but cry, and instead of comforting you, yuuji couldn't hold back either, harsh words being thrown at you as the ache in his body grew louder, as the adrenaline slipped away.
- "I'm trying! Can't you see I'm fucking trying and doing everything I can," his voice wavered as he let out an unconvincing cough to hide the crack in his voice. His eyes were red from the lack of sleep, he'd been so busy these days, it seemed like he cared neither for you not for himself.
- "You know I mean the best for you, I want the best for you, I'm trying too, but it seems like it's never enough, some days I wish I didn't love you at all," it came out in a hushed whisper, you didn't mean for him to hear it, but in the silence of your four walls, the sound of almost everything seemed to be amplified.
- Yuuji was speechless, all the anger from his body seemed to drain, leaving behind only traces of fatigue. "I... Didn't know that's how you felt," was all he could muster up before turning towards the door.
- "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it, you know I didn't," you tried pleading with him to which he gave a tired smile, "It's okay even if you did, it just means you're still trying, maybe even more than I am... I just need to be alone for a while," he said, he looked you in the eye for the first time since the start of your fight.
- You understand, and the guilt that claws at the pit of your stomach makes you choke on a sob as you see him leave. You know he'll come back, he knows you didn't mean it, he has to.
- So you did what you've been doing for nights now, you go back to an empty bed, missing your beloveds warmth as it feels colder than ever tonight.
❕MEGUMI
- The fight had been going on for hours at this point. Your voice came out hoarse as you tried again to put forth what you're trying to say, he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to risk his life every day, he doesn't have to feel indebted, he doesn't have to leave you alone constantly, protecting everyone but himself.
- "Do you hear yourself? You're being selfish and you know it, you know why I do this, you know I have to." He seems worn out from the long fight too, but the cutting edge of his words push you over the edge.
- "No do YOU hear YOURSELF, you think it's selfish? You think I'm being selfish by thinking about your well-being? How do you think it feels everyday you leave not knowing if you'll come back?" You've been trying to reason with him for so long but his stubborn nature is making him stand his ground the more you try to push him.
- "You and your fucking nagging, some days I wish I didn't love you at all," his head was in his hands as he was hunched over on the couch, contempt laced his words, or so you felt when they reached you. It took you a second to process them, but as soon as you did, you feel something break in you.
- The both of your eyes widen simultaneously, he looks up, he'd about to walk towards you, but you stop him, a hand raised as you back away. "Fuck I'm so sorry, that's not what I meant, I just- I, fuck please look at me," his voice has an urgency it hasn't had since the time he asked you to go out with him. That was years ago.
- "I... I think I'll go over to Nobaras for tonight," is all you can say as you go to your room to get yourself a small bag for the night. You can hear his footsteps follow you in, but they're hesitant, stopping, pacing, speeding up, slowing down, just trying to gauge your reaction, but you don't give him any, feeling nothing at all.
- Deep down you know they're empty words, spit at you through the layers of anger and exhaustion that take away any meaning that could've been behind them, but that didn't make it hurt less. Hearing the man who oftentimes expressed his love and appreciation for you, showing his gratitude towards your relationship, towards your patience with him, no matter what, you never thought he'd ever think of loving you any less, even if it wasn't romantic.
❕SUKUNA
- Fights were frequent between the two of you, but usually it was over something pretty, or one of you trying to rile the other up till it leads to angry sex, but not today, today you were sick and tired of his constant need to control you and everything you do.
- "Somedays I wish I never loved you!" The words were loud and harsh, and as they left your mouth, Sukuna wasn't shaken, instead retorting, "At this point, I wish I never loved you EVERYDAY!" The two of you are seething with anger, as you see his jaw clench as your fingers leave light crescents on the pads of your palm.
- "Then why are you still here? Leave whenever you want," you didn't mean that, you liked having him around, maybe it wasn't the perfect or healthiest relationship, but then is any relationship the same? The two of you can grow together, and you want that, but you're so tired... and he can be so greedy, for you, your time, your energy... your devotion.
- "Is that what you want? What you really want?" He didn't even sound hurt when the words were uttered, it wasn't agony, it was fatigue. It was the weight of all the things he'd done and said, and all of the ones he hadn't that were wearing him out. He didn't want you to mean it, but he left regardless, to give you space.
- That night you were the one spamming him with texts and calls, asking him to come back as you fell asleep with no energy to even cry, the light of the phone shining even as your eyes shut close.

hiii there, I love ur writing for Sadie so much aughhh 🤍
Could you possibly write hyperfem!reader x Sadie, where Sadie is sitting in camp cleaning her gun and sees reader trying to scavenge around her bags for some medicine as she was getting a sick, Sadie sees this and goes asking if she needs help with her search for medicine, all while urging reader to sit down and rest. Reader was adamant in trying to find some medicine by herself but Sadie eventually takes her hand and sits her down in their shared tent and goes into town to get some for her. Upon Sadie's arrival, reader is fast asleep and Sadie doesn't want to wake her up as she is sleeping peacefully but ends up shaking her awake softly, helping her drink the medicine, then Sadie makes reader some soup. Reader is just overall trying to be independent but being with Sadie, it feels nice to have someone like her who will urge reader to relax and let her take care of it for her.
I’m rambling a bit but ya! Be as creative as you wish and of course throw some little pet names in there.
Thank youuu!

u and sadie were different. completely different. u were the kind of girl to wear frills, lace, satin. even a little bit of makeup sometimes. u were one of the most feminine women they had in the gang.. that was also another thing, few of them couldn't believe a girl like you was a outlaw. but then again, the way u were able to charm some money into ur pockets with ur gentle touch and doe eyes was exceptional.
the one girl that kept her eye on u was sadie. sadie adler. u looked up to her a lot, she was feisty, stubborn and was not the kind of woman to put up with anyone's shit. sometimes u wished u could be like her but... could u? being properly involved in the gang like that? no.
╚═══════════════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ════════════════╝
sadie was minding her business as usual, using some gun oil to clean her gun as she sat by a table. only to then look up for a moment and see u.. u grabbed a handful of ur pink frilly skirt as u made way to ur stuff, quickly scavenging for something to soothe ur body. at least, slightly. just anything u could find. u were ill at the moment, nothing serious, of course. maybe something like a very mild case of influenza, the girls kept their eye on u since u were always busy within camp despite that u were ill. although rest isn't easy when ur a member of an outlaw gang.
“hey, dollface, let me help ya- ye need to be restin'.” sadie says softly as she helps u sit on the bed that u both share. “sadie... 'm fine, i jus' need-” a dry cough interrupted ur words. “i jus' need t'find some medicine, lovey.” u reply, trying to comfort ur girlfriend. “'m fine, really-” “[name], you ain't fine. wait 'ere 'nd I'll get ya somethin'.” u look up at her with a smile before she got up, she returned that smile before leaving the tent to head into town. u slowly got up and undressed yourself down, too ur chemise. u then climbed into the bed, wrapping yourself up in the thin sheets that sadie bought for u both a while ago. u decided to finally rest.
Tumblr media
it was late evening by the time that sadie came back. mary-beth, tilly and even abigail did their rounds of coming by and checking up on u throughout the day, but u were fast asleep. sadie made her way with some medicine and a bowl of pearson's soup in the other. when she flips up the tent flap before letting it fall down to the ground, giving u both the privacy within ur tent. she was immediately hit with the smell of ur perfume, the smell of lavender quickly filled her nose. she set down the bottle of medicine and the bowl on the nightstand before she sat on the bottom of the bed. first time in a whole that sadie's hesitant, she's hesitant if she should wake u or not, watching u as u slept like a angel who came down to earth. what a lucky woman she felt, being with a girl like u.
After what felt like hours of hesitation, “honey, 'm back..” sadie says softly, almost in the tone of a whisper as ur body stirred gently, feeling her hand glide from ur waist up to ur shoulder then which cause u to wake up. given the hardness of the gang, u weren't a light sleeper. u opened ur eyes and saw sadie as she reached for the medicine. “didn't mean to wake ya suddenly, but i got 'em fer ya.” u smiled at her words as u sat up on the bed, u blew ur nose with a handkerchief that made for urself during ur free time. she was always so sweet to u, which was a stark contrast compared to her stubborn personality. “thank ya, sadie.” she replies with a small chuckle. “it aint nothin', darlin'... right, go on now.” she said as she gave u the medicine that was in one of the mugs within camp. After u downed that, she fed u some of the stew that Pearson made.
it was nice. it felt nice being taken care of like that. u were always up on ur feet, helping out around camp, but now ur in the privacy of ur shared tent with sadie as she feeds u some strew. u always adored her, with ur body and soul. “ye didn't need to do this all fer me.. i would've been fine.” u say softly before a cough escapes ur body. sadie hated seeing u like this. u were such a firey and talkative girl before u hit with this sickness of sorts. but of course, that didn't stop sadie from loving every bit of u. she scooted a little closer to u and wrapped her arms around around ur neck in an embrace. she placed her chin on top ur head while u wrapped ur arms around her waist, sniffing in her scent of tobacco and gun powder. “'course id do this for ya. hell, I'd even go t'hell 'nd back if it meant i got t'keep ya forever.”

the gap between a tragedy and comedy
Sure, Taylor gets frequent nightmares about Scary killing his dad, but he's alive, so everything is fine. Right?
[title from I/Me/Myself by Will Wood]
ao3
Taylor gasps and opens his eyes.
Another nightmare about his dad dying.
But it's okay, he's alive and all is well. Taylor focuses on that thought as he slips out of the bed, grabs his cane, and starts pacing back and forth. It's a good way to get the excess energy out.
He and his friends were having another sleepover, so Taylor was careful to be as quiet as possible so as to not wake anyone up.
Link is still asleep in the bed, and Scary, Normal, and Hermie are in sleeping bags sprawled across the floor.
There's not much space to walk, but he manages.
As he walks, he still can't erase the memory of sobbing over what he thought was his dad's dead body. His dad, who just came back into his life, and got him such a perfect present, and who was truly wanting to connect with him… but he's alive. He's alive. So everything is fine. Everything is fi—
"Ow, fuck!" Taylor yelps as he hits the ground. He tripped over Scary's leg.
Immediately, he clasps a hand over his mouth. So much for keeping quiet.
He lays there for a few seconds, waiting for a reaction, but none come. Everyone was still asleep. Nice.
Taylor tries to lift himself up. He fell forward and his arms broke his fall for the most part, but now they were hurting more than they already were. His elbows buckle underneath him and he collapses against the floor again.
Maybe he'll just sleep here for the night.
He closes his eyes, but then all he can see is his dad's body.
Fuck.
"Taylor?"
Fuck.
"Hi, Link."
"Whoa, man, what happened?"
Link is already in front of Taylor.
"My arms hurt. I can't…" Taylor tries to lift himself up again, and he doesn't even make it slightly off the ground.
"Okay, I'm gonna lift you up, okay?"
"Yeah."
Link carefully turns Taylor onto his back and scoops him up, carrying him bridal style.
"Sorry if this hurts."
It does. "Don't worry. I'd rather have this than be stuck on the floor."
And then the soft bed cushions him as Link sets him down on the bed. "Blanket or no blanket?"
"No blanket."
"Alright."
After placing him back on the bed, Link grabs the cane off the floor and props it up beside Taylor's side of the bed.
"Thanks, man. Sorry about that."
"Don't worry about it. Are you okay? What happened?" Link asks as he sits on the bed next to Taylor.
"I tripped on Scary's leg and fell."
"Why were you up?"
"I—I was, like, pacing. You know, too—too much energy and all… all that," Taylor stutters. His heart is beating too fast from the adrenaline of the fall. "I'm fine, though."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," Taylor says, feeling his chest start to hurt. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm chill. Let's just go back to sleep."
"You look kinda shaken up, man."
"I'm fine, I just had a… I had a dream about… like… when Scary killed my dad—but then it turned out that he was fine and still alive so like it's fine and I don't know why—I mean—It doesn't make sense for… just—I'm fine. Yeah."
Taylor's chest hurts more now. He's unsure of whether he'll even be able to fall asleep after that.
"I'm all good. I just—I fell and couldn't move, so I guess that could explain the… I mean, that's like, happened to me before. I just call my mom for help."
Taylor remembers another thought that crossed his mind when he thought his dad was dead. What if it happened to his mom?
"Look, ju—just… Le—let's go to sss…sleep. I…I'm fine now. Thanks to you…your rescue, my hero. Uhh—"
"Taylor, take a breath," Link cuts him off.
"Huh?"
It confuses him for a second, but once Taylor's no longer trapped in his thoughts, he realizes why his chest has been hurting.
"Shit," Taylor says, shifting himself to sit up a little, "I—I'm—"
Frozen, Taylor becomes hyper-aware of his breaths coming too fast, and his hands shaking, and the memory of his dad's dead body, and it won't go away.
"Taylor, Taylor, hey."
Link is sitting in front of him now. "It's okay," he says.
It's definitely not.
"Uh…" Taylor can feel hot tears sliding down his face now. Crying is something that's happened before, but whatever's going on right now feels out of his control. And scary.
Taylor feels like he's choking. He can't  get enough air in.
"I—I don't know what's… Link, I don't know…" Taylor's voice wobbles. "I—I can't…"
And he's still thinking about his dad dying, even though it didn't really happen. And it's stupid that he won't stop thinking about it.
Taylor is hyperventilating.
He's hyperventilating, and shaking, and light-headed, and dizzy.
He's definitely dying right now.
But it's not from a battle. It's not from a wound. It's… he doesn't know.
Whatever Link says next is muffled and faint. There's one thought circling Taylor's mind:
"This is such a suh—stupid way to die."
And of course, it's the perfect time for his pain to flare up. A terrible ache spreads through his limbs as if it couldn't have gotten any worse.
Everything hurts, and it's really cold, and his skin feels prickly and uncomfortable, and that makes him cry harder and breathe faster.
Suddenly, his cheeks feel warm. Something is pressing against them.
The unfamiliar feeling takes Taylor's attention away from everything that is so wrong right now. He blinks away the tears blurring his vision and looks up at Link, a lot closer to him than he was before.
There's hands on his face. Link's hands are on his face, and his mouth is moving. Past the static in his head, Taylor manages to make out what he's saying.
"...lor. Taylor. Taylor."
"Ye—" His breath hitches. Ah. He can't talk. A nod should suffice, so he settles for that.
After nodding, Taylor can see Link's expression soften a little.
"Listen to me," Link says, sounding surprisingly assertive. "You are not dying. Trust me, okay?"
Taylor trusts Link. He's always trusted Link. Usually he sounds a little unsure of himself, but right now he sounds the most confident Taylor's ever heard him be.
Something about that makes Taylor believe it. He nods again.
"Okay. Breathe in for four seconds. I'll count."
Taylor does his best to follow Link's directions.
"One, two, three, four."
Taylor takes in a breath as big as he can, which is not very.
"Now hold it," Link says, and Taylor focuses on how sure he is in what he's saying. It makes him feel safer.
"And out, two, three, four."
Taylor lets out a sigh. It gets a little easier to breathe, but not by much.
"Now let's do it again," Link says, practically hovering over Taylor, with his hands still on his face. He's so close, and he must feel so warm…
"Can—sorry—uh, can we…" Taylor leans in, presses his face against Link's chest, and wraps his arms around his back. "Can we do it like this?"
"Yeah, we can," Link answers, and Taylor can feel himself being held in his embrace.
It is warm.
And he continues to breathe with Link, feeling the rise and fall of his chest.
After a while, Taylor breaks the comfortable silence that fell over them.
"Hey… why did you cup my face earlier?" he mumbles.
"I didn't want to hold your arms, because you said they were hurting."
"Oh," Taylor feels his face get hot. Careful and considerate and kind… Link really is a hero.
A hero who's running his hands through Taylor's hair now. It's soothing.
"Do you feel better now?"
"Sorta… I mean. Thank you—I just, I don't know because… I… I've had that nightmare so much, Link. I don't know, I don't know, and I'm in a lot of pain, and I hate it, and none of this is badass like I want it to be. I don't know why this is… I don't know why it's still freaking me out."
"Mm, well… your dad is okay, but the sight you saw and fear you felt were real," Link says, and then he gently pulls Taylor off his chest and looks him in the eyes. "And you are totally badass."
Taylor lets out a wet laugh.
"I mean it. You're still here. You're alive. You're persevering. That's badass."
Link's eyes are wide and determined. Taylor can feel their gaze piercing through him, and all he can do is stare back. Their faces are as close together as they were before, though this time Taylor is a lot less out of it.
Their faces are really close together.
"Okay," Taylor whispers.
"Um, so, we should sleep."
Taylor cringes. "Yeah…"
"What's wrong?"
"I'm kinda scared. I know that nightmare keeps coming back."
"I have an idea."
Link guides Taylor to lie back down, and helps him turn to the side, then he shifts himself to lie down too, wrapping an arm around Taylor and pulling him close.
"If you have that nightmare again, I'll be right here. I'll protect you."
Taylor shudders, and a fresh wave of tears falls down his face. "Okay."
He's thankful that Link doesn't comment on how Taylor continues to cry into his shirt. Maybe he's already asleep…
Link silently starts rubbing circles onto Taylor's back. He is not asleep.
He just lets Taylor cry.
And eventually, they both fall asleep.
The next morning, Taylor is the last to wake up.
Link watches as everyone else wakes up and files out of the room to brush their teeth and get breakfast, but he doesn't move, because Taylor is clutching his shirt with a death grip and his face is still buried in it.
"Taylor, wake up, it's time for breakfast," Link says, nudging him with the hand that's already on his back.
Taylor whines, shakes his head, and presses himself further against Link's chest.
"Taylor, come on, aren't you hungry?"
Taylor shakes his head.
It's not unlike him to be clingy like this, but Link suspects that what happened last night is still weighing on him.
That suspicion is confirmed when Link sees Taylor's face scrunch up and his hands start to tremble.
"Taylor, are you okay?"
Maybe it's a stupid question, but it's still worth asking.
At first, Taylor doesn't speak or move.
But then—and Link almost misses it—he just barely shakes his head.
It makes sense.
Taylor isn't really one to break down—last night must have shaken him up pretty badly.
And judging by him not knowing what was going on, Link could guess that that might have been his first time having an anxiety attack.
It must have been scary.
Seeing Taylor spiralling like that startled Link as well. Link was no stranger to recurring nightmares, but he had no idea Taylor has been going through the same thing.
Link tightens his grip on Taylor, holding him close.
"How about we get up after a few minutes?"
"No, it's—we can—" Taylor shifts back a little, and then cringes. "Ow—" he shudders and sucks a breath in through his teeth.
"It's okay, it's okay."
"We should ea—fuck, I… I can't… hurts…"
"Okay, okay, do you want me to carry you downstairs? Or I can bring you food up here."
"You can um. You can carry me again."
"Okay, okay," Link turns Taylor onto his back. Taylor cringes again, and he pulls his hands up to cover his face, and he starts breathing fast again.
"Hey, hey, just breathe."
"Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry—I'm just kinda… I—I—uhh…"
"I know, it's okay," Link says, helping him shift to sit up against the wall.
"Mmm, yeah… Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just… I need—I need a second," Taylor says, burying his head further in his hands.
"It's okay."
Taylor takes a big breath in, holds it, lets it out, and lets his hands fall back down onto his lap.
"Thank you…thank you for your help last night."
"Of course, anytime. How are you feeling now?"
"I'm… I don't feel good. I don't know why," Taylor says.
He really doesn't look too great. His face is red and stained with tears, and he's trembling again, just a bit.
"Okay, it's okay, let's go downstairs and get breakfast."
"Okay, maybe I can…" Taylor slowly shifts closer to the edge of the bed and grabs his cane. Link slips off the bed and stands in front of Taylor, ready to help.
Taylor stands on his feet for about a second before he falls forward into Link, who wraps his arms around him instinctively.
"God, my legs hurt so bad."
"I'm gonna pick you up."
"Okay."
Link scoops Taylor up in his arms, and Taylor's face gets a little redder.
"Tha—thanks."
Link grabs Taylor's cane and hangs it on his wrist.
Taylor's eyes are shut, his cheeks are flushed, and his mouth is agape.
When Link shifts him a little to get a better grip on the cane, he can see Taylor's face scrunch up.
Taylor wasn't this bad before they went to sleep last night, but Link knows that stress can cause the pain to flare up, and Taylor has definitely been under a lot of stress.
Link carries him down the stairs.
Taylor almost falls back asleep as Link carries him down the stairs, but the voices of the others quickly wake him up.
They sound concerned, though Taylor can't really process what they're saying. "'M fine," he mumbles, hoping that's enough reassurance.
Sounds like it wasn't, because now Link is saying something to them.
It seems to calm them down. He isn't sure.
And then Taylor lands on something soft and warm.
Taylor opens his eyes. It's the couch. And Link is propping him up against the armrest with a pillow.
There's also two sets of eyes looking at him.
Normal and Hermie. They're sitting on an adjacent couch, both glancing at him every few seconds like they're not wanting him to notice that he's being stared at.
"I'm fine, guys, don't worry," Taylor says, though the weak and raspy voice betrays him a little.
Before they can say anything, Link comes back with two bowls of cereal. He places one on the coffee table, and Taylor slowly shifts to an upright position, taking his legs off the couch.
Taylor grabs the bowl and puts it on his lap. He can feel Link hovering over him, ready to assist if needed, but not too overbearing.
"Thanks."
"Yeah, you're welcome," Link says, sitting next to him with the other bowl. He grabs the remote and turns on the TV. "What do you wanna watch?"
The look on Taylor's face is worth everything to Link.
His eyes light up, and a big toothy grin appears on his face in an instant.
Taylor takes the remote and searches for a show.
He still looks a little frazzled, but he's got his spirit back.
Once Taylor finds a show, he puts the bowl back on the table, presses play, and leans into Link's side.
Link wraps his arm around Taylor's shoulders and pulls him closer.
"I love the soundtrack of this movie," Taylor says, and his voice is so full of love and passion and light.
Scary comes down the steps, fully dressed with her hair and makeup all done. "You guys watching Totoro?"
"Yeah," Taylor says.
"Ah, look who finally woke up," she comments, nodding to Taylor, before sitting on the couch with Hermie and Normal, kicking her feet up on the foot rest.
And suddenly, Link feels his heart nearly jump out of his chest. Taylor's got both his arms wrapped around Link's torso.
His breathing is nice and slow, his eyes are half lidded but fixed on the TV, and his face is still a little red.
Taylor feels more emotionally exhausted than he has in a while.
He didn't sleep well, his head hurts, his arms hurt, his legs hurt, his back hurts, his chest hurts…
A lot hurts.
The girls in the movie thinking their mom is going to die makes him press his face further into Link's side.
Link's grip on him tightens, and all at once everything is too much, and his breath hitches, and tears fall, and then Link's thumb is on his cheek wiping it away.
Taylor turns to face Link.
They lock eyes.
Link's eyes are dark and warm and caring and concerned and protective and safe and wonderful.
His arms are strong. Taylor doesn't know when he and Link ended up intertwined like this, but he's being held and he wants to stay like this forever.
The music from the TV courses through Taylor's veins and relaxes him, or maybe that's just the warmth of Link's embrace and his enchanting eyes.
There's just something so… different about Link.
Toward him, Taylor just feels this gravitational pull.
Maybe it's his kindness.
Maybe it's his care.
Maybe it's his support.
Taylor doesn't know.
The way Link looks at him makes him feel like the most beautiful scene in any anime.
Link makes him feel like that even when he knows he looks like a mess.
Taylor can feel the hair stuck to his face with sweat, and his eyes are dry from crying so much. He's an emotional mess. He's a physical mess. He's a mess in every form.
But Link doesn't see that. Link is just gazing at him. Studying him, maybe.
And then Taylor's gaze drops.
Link's mouth is open just a tad. Taylor can hear him breathing in and out.
And his lips…
Taylor stares, and he stares, and he stares.
He can't tear his eyes away. He's looking… and thinking… and wondering… what it would feel like…
Taylor sucks in a breath and shuts his eyes. His heart is thumping and his face is on fire.
Fuck.
"You okay?" Link asks, and his voice is so warm and worried and it makes Taylor feel like molten lava.
"Uh… yeah."
Link's hand is on his head and carding his fingers through his hair again and it feels so nice and it feels so right and shit, Taylor knows what that gravitational pull is.
But it's okay, it's fine. This feels right. Taylor cuddles up against Link and closes his eyes.
"Taylor, are you even watching?" Scary asks.
"I'm listening," he mumbles into Link's side.
Before Link knows it, Taylor is asleep on his side.
Some other movie autoplayed, but Link doesn't pay it much attention, he's too focused on Taylor.
He looks a lot more peaceful than earlier. Link is almost certain that Taylor did not sleep well last night.
Hopefully he was sleeping better now.
Link rests his head atop Taylor's and hums.
…Taylor has pretty eyes.
Link wasn't sure what was happening but somehow they'd ended up staring at each other for a while. Maybe Link was just seeing things, but was Taylor looking at his lips?
…Did he have food on his face?
He licks his lips. Nothing.
Huh. So Taylor was just… looking… at his lips…
Taylor's lips are kind of chapped. There's a little dried blood, too. He must have been biting them. Link does that when he's anxious too.
And just as that thought crossed his mind, Taylor started biting the skin on his lips again.
Not wanting to wake him up, but not wanting him to hurt himself, Link puts a hand on his cheek.
Taylor's eyes just barely crack open. "Wha…?"
"Sorry, just… you shouldn't bite your lips like that. They're bleeding."
"Mm…"
Link watches Taylor close his eyes again and lick the blood off his lips. "Fine..."
Slightly dazed, Link thinks he knows why Taylor kept staring at his lips.
And when Taylor presses his face against Link's chest, half–lying on top of him now, Link feels a new kind of nervousness.
But it's kind of nice?
It's nice.
And Link swears to himself that he'll keep Taylor safe from nightmares until the end of time.

In Our Favor
Part 169
McCoy
McCoy stretched as he stood. Their shuttle had just touched down and the prince was ready to be on solid ground again. He and Scotty had spent most of the flight working on their homework and catching up on their reading. All McCoy wanted was to stretch out in bed and go to sleep.
Campus was quiet but that was to be expected at the very late hour. Five pairs of footsteps crossed the grounds of Starfleet, heading towards the dorms. David had sent Andre and his ‘Team Alpha’ to bring them back to the academy. In another day or so the undercover team would be in place. McCoy didn’t want to think about that anymore than he had too.
McCoy pushed open their dorm door and held it for Scotty. Andre grabbed the door from him and held it for Anthony and Averie.
“You may wait here,” Andre said to the other two guards.
McCoy frowned. “Aren’t you going now?”
“The king wants you escorted to your room and the room checked,” Andre answered apologetically.
McCoy sighed. “Fine,” he muttered.
Andre followed McCoy and Scotty into the elevator.
“S’alright love,” Scotty said softly and squeezed McCoy’s hand. McCoy gave a tiny nod.
On their floor they got out and walked to their room. Scotty tapped in their code, then followed McCoy in as the door opened.
“There. Empty. Good?” McCoy turned back to look at Andre.
“Len…,” Scotty scolded gently.
“Yes sir,” Andre said after peeking into the bathroom. “I can report to the king with a clear conscience.”
“Andre— I’m- I’m sorry,” McCoy said. “It’s not you. It’s just—”
“I understand sir,” Andre said, lifting a hand to stop McCoy. “I can imagine it feels stifling to be under royal protection again. We’ll be as unobtrusive as we can. Good night sir. Mr. Scott-McCoy.”
“Good night,” Scotty called as Andre left. He moved and dropped his bag on his desk chair. Then he stepped over to McCoy and hugged him.
“I’m sorry,” McCoy said, dropping his face against Scotty’s neck. He knew he had been acting like an ass.
“It’s been a long day and yer always tense after a flight,” Scotty said.
“I shouldn’t take it out on others. It’s not Andre’s fault and he does his job well.”
“Aye love. Come on, let’s get to bed. Get some sleep at least before morning comes too soon.”
“Ok,” McCoy said, resting his forehead against Scotty’s for a moment, before letting go of the Scotsman.
He had already dropped his own bag by the desks and sat down on the bed to kick his shoes off. Quickly he undressed and got under the covers.
“Why does it have to be cold everywhere?” McCoy complained, pulling the covers up around himself.
Scotty laughed. “Maybe if ye wore some pajamas…”
McCoy made a face as Scotty climbed into the bed next to him. “Pajamas would just make more work.” He grinned and gave Scotty a knowing look.
“Well, not tonight,” Scotty chuckled. “We have to be up for class in a few hours.”
“Oh fine,” McCoy pretended to pout.
“Oh stop ye big baby,” Scotty’s voice was amused as he stretched across McCoy to turn out the light.
“That’s not fair,” McCoy grunted at Scotty’s weight on him.
Scotty stopped on his way back to his side of the bed to kiss McCoy.
“As if ye don’t get enough of me,” Scotty said. “I’ll make it up to ye on the weekend.”
“Good,” McCoy said. “I’ll hold you to it.”
“But I suppose for now, just hold ye?”
“Yes,” McCoy said, snuggling closer and getting his head down by Scotty’s chest.
“Can do mo ghràdh.”
Part 170
Scotty
When he woke up in the morning Scotty was confused for a moment, wondering where he was, but he quickly remembered that Leonard and him had returned to San Francisco the night before.
They had been accompanied by Andre and his team who would keep an eye on them until the undercover team was set up. Even though it felt weird to be under protection again, Scotty couldn't deny that it kinda eased his mind a bit. Knowing that Leonard was safe was very important to him and he trusted the royal security team a lot. Aye, they hadn't been able to protect Leah from the attack, but that was just because there had been so many rebels.
"Morning," a soft voice and the sound of the covers rustling next to him caught Scotty's attention and he rolled his head to the side to meet his husband's beautiful eyes. A smile formed on his lips as he thought about the first time they had been that close. The first time he had drowned in that gorgeous mixture of green and blue.
"Madainn mhath, mo ghràdh." Scotty moved closer to Leonard and allowed for their foreheads to touch. Gentle kisses quickly followed, but they both knew that they didn't have time for that. They needed to get up and dressed for classes.
"You know, we could just call in sick for today. That way no one can see Andre and the others around us," Leonard mused, sighing.
Scotty chuckled softly at that idea. He had expected something like that to come from his love.
"Oh? I didn't know that ye're feeling sick. I suppose it would be for the best if I stay far away from ye then, huh?" The Scotsman pulled his head backwards, acting like Leonard was somehow infectious and the prince groaned.
"I know. I know. We have to get back to classes. Can't miss too much stuff."
"Aye, that's right. And I'm pretty sure that our friends want to see us. Especially Chris."
Leonard sighed yet again before he finally rolled onto his back to stare at the ceiling.
"Alright. Fine." He looked back at Scotty. "But you owe me a lot this weekend."
The Scotsman only rolled his eyes. That was just the man he had married.
Andre hadn't lied when he had said that Team Alpha would try to be as unobtrusive as possible. They kept their distance, acting like they were just visitors at the academy for a day, but were never too far away from Leonard and Scotty.
When they entered the dining hall, Christine was already waving at the boys from afar. Keenser, Nyota and Cora were sitting with her and when Leonard and Scotty sat down, they were greeted cheerfully.
"It's so good to see the two of you. Did you have a good flight?" Uhura asked and Scotty nodded.
"Exhausting, but good. We managed to catch up with some homework."
From the corner of his eye Scotty noticed Cora leaning over to Leonard.
"How is your sister doing? Eugene and I heard about it too, of course," she quietly asked and the prince gave her a gentle smile.
"She's doing better, thanks." Leonard looked around. "Where is Eugene anyway?"
"Oh, he needs to finish a project last minute. But he told me that he's looking forward to seeing you in class." Cora was smiling, a soft blush on her cheeks as she talked about her boyfriend. Their love was still so fresh.
"I see."
Slowly more and more friends joined them, everyone asking about Leah and Robbie too.
Scotty was kinda surprised by the hard glare Jim gave them. He apparently couldn't believe that they hadn't called him, but the Scotsman was quite certain that he'd get over it quickly.
Aporal was the last to join them. He greeted them with a nod, but didn't say anything. It didn't matter. Scotty was just happy that he was sitting with them.

A Champion Time For The Heart Ch9 Travels To Hulbury
(This chapter will contain a small time skip of events as well as a past fight between y/n and her mother in the story.)
You swore you needed both a doctor and a nice bed to sleep away the pains of soreness racking your body.
Ever since you four left Turffield it had been like the time you left Motostoke except a bit longer. Walking, camping at night, taking time out for resting between walks and gathering food. Mostly from berry trees or snacking from whatever nonperishable foods Leon had given you. Some night Victor managed to make one form of curry or another. Mostly bean or apple curry which you didn't mind too much but the apples tasted a bit strange in the curry sauce, so you fed them to your sobble which you noticed had now taken a habit of laying in your lap any chance you were sitting and expected to be fed whenever you held any kind of food. Oops. You might have ended up spoiling it a bit. Oh well. You didn't mind too much. It's smiles and noises were pretty cute, and at least Gloria was able to add a few more curry entries to her book. After what had happened at the pokemon Nursery back in Truffield you decided to fill in Gloria and Hop about the mysterious band of rock star wannabes, but they seemed to be as confused as you were about who they might've been working for and who they were. Hop even suggested that maybe the eccentric costumes were disguises to they're real identities, which seemed a bit farfetched but hey. You were transported into the video game world of pokemon, traveling along with a few of the characters, and for all you knew could still wake up at any moment to your mother scolding you for being late for college. It wasn't really too out there to rule out yet. While you four traveled every so often you'd rest and Hop and Gloria would scamper off to have a battle or more likely try to catch some new pokemon from where you were at. So you weren't all too surprised to find out Gloria caught herself a wild Dottler and Hop's Grookey evolving from the....seventh or eighth day now as you four traveled. You lost count or couldn't remember how many days had past after seven or eight. You were mostly tired now a days with a heaping dab of soreness in your back and neck from your uneasy sleeping schedule and the rocky ground poking you from the floor of the test. Or the fact the only thing you had for a pillow was your backpack, but you never complained. If it meant getting to Hulbury faster then you could deal with it. It was like when your mother insisted you stay up a few extra hours to study or when you had to work late at the radio station after that. You yawned more, movements slowing a bit, and you had gotten noticeable bags under your eyes. Buuut the three teens must've noticed because on what was the ninth day Gloria decided to point it out to you.
"Hey, Y/n. I really didn't want to say anything but are you feeling ok?" She pointed at your face. "You've been yawnin' ever since we left Turffield like a week ago. And you've gotten bags under your eyes big enough to carry luggage for a full week's vacation. "
In response you yawned again before looking to her. "M' fine. Jus a bit tired I guess." You stretched out your back as you walked making it pop. "Haven't really gotten much sleep just laying on the ground like a rock."
"Hey. I have good news." Victor all of a sudden held up his phone. When did he pull that out? And held it up to all of you. "There's a small town up ahead about another day's walk. It has a convenience store, hotel, and a few other things." He looked at you. "I think we should stop by. We can restock up on supplies and rest for the night at the hotel. That might help out Y/n's situation and prevent her from dropping from exhaustion anytime soon."
"Hey. I-I'm not that tired," you lied stifling another yawn....But the promise of a bed tho- "But you're right about needing some more supplies. I don't know how much food and necessities we have left, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to stop by and restock."
The food Leon lent would only last so long anyways. It was best for all parties involved. So it was decided the four of you would stop by the upcoming small town. It took another day and night of walking and resting (giving you another night of uncomfortable sleep) and then shoving off he next morning for the town. It took half the day but the four of you managed to happen upon the small town. And you do mean small. It couldn't have been much bigger than Postwick actually. There was around maybe twenty buildings and most of them were homes or doubled as homes as well as stores. As the four of you walked through the small town a few people walked by or waved, and you could hear a few children laughing. It certainly was very peaceful wasn't it? The peace made you even more tired- You were shaken awake when your sobble chirped loudly and smacked you with it's tail, making you stumble as you walk and if it weren't for the two boys catching you you would've faceplanted the road again. Which ended up in the three kids making up a decision for you.
"Let's go find the Inn first."
The inn turns out was one of the first buildings you came across when you took the small side road off of Route 5 here and the only building in the town that had three stories. It was more like a tall house than an Inn when the three of you entered, Gloria helping to steady your sleepy self. The inside looked very similar to Professor Magnolia's house. Very homey and welcoming. The elderly lady looked lightly surprised when the four of you came in with you fighting to keep awake for a little longer. Ok. So maybe the little sleep over nine or ten days was starting to get to you a little bit you haven't been this tired since studying for college entry exams in high school.
"Oh my. Are you children alright?," she ended up asking lightly standing from her seat seeing you lightly sway a bit.
You waved her off. "I'm fine. Just really tired."
"We'd like to book two rooms please with double beds," Victor explained to the lady throwing you a worried look. "Do you have any available?"
"Oh. Yes, we do. Come. I'll show you to your rooms. By the looks of your friend there, she's in dire need of a good rest." Whelp. No argument there. Luckily the rooms she had the four of you follow her towards a long hallway a little aways from the front desk before stopping and opening one door. "Here's the young mens. Bathroom's through the door on the left. And as for the two young ladies." She turned to a door right across from Hop and Victor's room and opened it. The room was pretty much as you suspected. A simple large room with two beds on each side of it, a shelf, window looking out onto a field, Tv, and a white door that you supposed led to a closet. "This'll be yours." She pointed at the door. "The bathroom is through there. We also have a laundry mat attachment in the adjacent building to the left if you youngsters need it. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask."
"Uh yes actually. Do you happen to know where your town's convenience store is?,'' you heard Victor ask but you were too busy to deduce what else was said.
You managed to stay awake enough to take a quick shower and change before walking to the closest bed to you and just flopping face first on it. The soft cushions hugging your tired and sore body, and it was natural for you to fall asleep almost as soon as you hit the mattress. So it was no wonder that by the next time you woke up it was night time. Confused and dazed you managed to sit up blinking confused at the darkness around you, the only source of light coming from the moon shining through the window outside. Vaguely in the dark you could just barely make out Gloria's sleeping form on the other bed on the other side of the room. Her baby toxel at the foot of her bed. Your body was still tired with it being night so it was easy for you to fall back into slumber when you slowly laid your tired self back down, barely registering your sobble squirming next to you as you fell back asleep. And came to a strange sight. A sight you witnessed before in your life. One you were all too familiar with too. ....You...You were back in your room. Well a younger you at least. You were about sixteen then just minding your own business sitting there and playing games. Couldn't remember which one just that you were enjoying yourself playing and sitting on your bed playing the day away. Until younger you looked up at footsteps approached your room, the next thing your younger self knew your door flew open with a bang and it started the younger you so much you ended up dropping your old switch on your bed jumping from the sound. And there she was. Your mother standing there with an angry scowl on her face.
"You're playing those stupid games again!?," she snapped at younger you, stomping over and quickly wrenching the switch from your bed.
In an instant your hand was reaching out for it. "HEY! Give that back."
But instead of that, your mother only held it up higher with her angry face. "Is THIS what I work to provide for you!?"
You had stopped. Frozen in surprise at the words foaming at your mother's mouth and the game she waved at your face.
"Is THIS what you think is fair to me!? I work day and night to provide a roof over your head, food in your stomach, and clean running water for all you do is to sit on your behind and play these mind rotting things!? To make the electricity bill higher than Mount Everest with you staying up all night playing this day in and out!?"
"M-Mom! C'mon! I'm sorry," younger you backpaddled.
"You should be! I'm not raising you to be lazy and unresponsible!" The game was tossed back onto the bed with a small thump before she pointed at you. "Work and studies should be your number one priority right now! I don't want to catch you slacking off wasting time again! Do I make myself clear?"
Younger you looked at your mother's angry face for a long moment before looking away and nodding. "Yes, Mom."
"That's good. Make sure it doesn't happen again. Alright, Y/n?"
.....
...........
"Hey, Y/n!," a distant girl's voice called, "Are you awake?"
"I dunno. Maybe we should just let her sleep? She was really tired when we got here yesterday," a young boy's voice said worried.
"Hop's gotta point, Glory. Let her sleep in. She'll need all the rest she can get for traveling."
"Ah. You guys are no fun."
Silently the world of younger days faded away to black and the voices became murmurs in the dark abyss that was sleep until you finally woke up from your now dreamless slumber. Which wasn't too long. You slowly woke from your sleep and was greeted with the sunlight making your tired eyes blink as you rubbed them and blinked at the surroundings around yourself at the simple room that wasn't your younger self's from the dream. What the-....Where were you? Did you finally wake up from the pokemon world dreamland you formed up? Were you back home? Did you move into the college dorms and forgot you did? Is that why this room looked strange to you? That hope was all but dashed in a moment when movement under the blanket next to you caught your attention and you looked. A small lump under the blanket the size of a small cat moved around until it moved towards the end of it near your arm and your sobble poked it's head out blinking tiredly and gave out a yawn crawling the rest of the way out. You gave a sigh, shaking your head before smiling and holding out your arm and letting the sobble crawl into your hands. You were still tired but rather than go back to sleep, you opted to tossing the blanket off yourself and got up with your sobble in your hands holding him up to your face.
"Well, I guess it's time to start the day huh?"
You managed to get a few things done. Morning shower, got dressed, and made your first stop the laundry mat across from the hotel after asking the elderly woman at the front desk for directions. Just something to do to help take your mind off the strange dream that had happened. You had started to wonder where the three children had run off to now but it was only after you were coming back with your now cleaned clothes and your sobble curled upon your shoulders did you run into them. Or Hop at least. He was just walking past the door when you opened it and almost ran into him. Thankfully stopping at just the right moment as he paused and blinked.
"Oh. Hey, Y/n!," he greeted with a smiling and shifting the box in his hands, "Glad to see you're awake now."
"Hi," you greeted back before raising a brow at the box he held. "What's that you're carrying?"
"Oh this?," he asked holding up the box and you nodded. "The old lady needed help clearing out her old storage room. She offered to pay me to help out so Im taking this to the broom closet down the hall here. Glory and Vick are doing some Pokejobs too." The confusion must've doubled on your face because he seemed to take notice. pokejobs?? What the heck are pokejobs?! "OH! Right. There's no possible way you could've known what those are. I keep forgetting you're not native to Galar. Pokejobs are jobs people upload into the rotomis."
".....Say what?," you asked still totally confused to what Hop was even saying.
He sighed. "Pokejobs. How do I describe them?....It's kinda like how newspapers have ads. If someone has a job they need help with they send a post to their rotomi profile, then if someone wants to make some money they can look on the Pokejobs Rotomi Forum for a job in their specific area. There was a few listed in the Rotomi at the town's covience store." He held up the box again. "Like this one. We figured it wouldn't hurt to make a little bit of money in case of emergencies too."
"That...sounds like a great idea. But where are the other two now?"
He shrugged. "Glory took a job that involved babysitting and I think Victor's helping someone here with a garden."
Well that sounded like a good way to earn a bit of money while you were waiting. As to pass the time you decided to help Hop once you had finished returning your clothes to your bag. The elderly woman seemed rather grateful for the help provided. In the manner of speaking it wasn't too difficult work. Most of the boxes were pretty light mostly filled with cleaning supplies or old blankets. That explains why she was having Hop move them to the big supply closet down the hall. When you asked about it she explained she had wanted to turn it into another bedroom for the busier traveling seasons, makes sense. One extra room to rent means one extra way to make some money. You helped rehome the boxes and cleaned it out by dusting and sweeping to pass the time away. When it came to paying you declined the money offered and made sure Hop received it instead. After all it was originally his job, you just helped to pass time, and it'd be wrong to piggyback on his hard earned money after all. But you did however accept the free room service for later when she offered instead. Free food was a reward you had no trouble accepting, especially considering you hadn't eaten anything since you woke up and all the exercise you had done in helping to clean out the room. Hop though was thankful for your help and expressed so as much. It was when the two of you were heading out did you finally bump into said twins. Gloria was carrying two large paper bags but you had to do a double take when you noticed Victor looked....well remember how dirty you were after being bowled over by Milo's wooloo? Victor looked like he got ran over by ten wooloo during a sand storm.
"Whoa. What happened to you?"
He grabbed his hat and shook the grey beanie out letting dirt fall to the ground. "Well. As it turns out the ad for 'helping to remove unwanted weeds and debry from the garden' also happened to include a wild munchlax who didn't want to leave. I had to half wrestle half chase the thing out."
"Oh wow. Glad to see you got paid tho."
He huffed but Gloria smiled holding up the bags in her hands. "But on the bright side we managed to stock up enough for the rest of our trip to Hulbury! Glad to see you're up and feeling better too, Y/n!"
You nodded. "Yeah. Feeling better thanks-"
"OH! That reminds me!" You were cut off when Gloria suddenly shoved one of the bags into your arms as you blinked. The inside held food and other things you'd have to use in order to get to Hulbury. She went digging through the other bag, eventually pulling out a rolled up, sleeping bag looking thing that must've made up half that bag's weight. "Here! I noticed you probably weren't sleeping well cuz you didn't have one of these here. Turns out the convivence store is also a supply store, so I was able to get you one of these."
You slowly took the rolled up sleeping bag from Gloria and gave it a look over before looking back to her. "I-...Thank you. But you didn't have to get me this. I would've been fine without it."
"I know but you would've just kept getting bad sleep if I didn't, and it won't hurt me from what I earned from winning against Milo's anyways. Besides, I can now call it even from when you saved our hides back in Postwick."
You smiled and decided to accept this gift with a nod. "Alright. We're even. But have you decided when you wanted to leave yet?"
"First thing tomorrow morning. After seeing you stumble 'round like a zombie with a headache, we decided to let ya sleep in since you were so tired. But since it's getting later anyways, we figured we'd spend one more night here and leave early in the morning."
"Oh that's a great plan cuz Y/n got us some free room service from helpin' out around here."
Gloria's eyes widened at her friend's words. "Wait. REALLY!?"
"How about we let Victor get cleaned up first before we do anything?"
The four of you did just that for the night. Packed away all the goods they brought back with them. Hopefully it'll last enough for the rest of the very long walk to Hulbury. And after everyone was done packing their share and Victor was cleaned up, you ate. No surprise it was more curry but you chose to accept that at this point that curry was a very important part of Galar's culture and hey. Free food was free food. Nothing to complain about here. And if Gloria could fill in more of her Curry Dex book then it was good enough for you too. Luckily it seemed with the new sleeping bag things might get easier for you when you all start traveling again. Which is exactly what happened. The very next morning the four of you set off as soon as Victor paid for the two day stay at the front desk, and it was back onto Route 5 the four of you went walking. And walking and walking. It was basically the same as before until night came and the four of you set up camp in a small clearing, giving you the chance to use the new sleeping bag Gloria had gotten you. And it worked like a charm. You still had to use your arms as a pillow but otherwise it was much more comfortable to sleep now. And then the next day the four of you were at it again. This time listening to Victor's adventures traveling around since he had started his own journey at least a year before Gloria's. Mentioning of all the different places and events around Galar he had been so far and you were impressed at his tales of capturing so many wild shiny pokemon in his photos, going so far to show you all a few places he took photos of. One being the giant clock tower back in Motostoke.
"So does that mean you've been to Halbury before?," you asked curiously glancing at the pictures in his hands.
He nodded. "I've been there once, but not for long. I did see the Hulbury Water-Type Aquarium and Research Center. They have every water type pokemon you could imagine, some of them are from different regions as well. That's where I got most of the photo's of water type pokemon I gave to Glory. Nessa was a huge sponsor for it's development. It's also a research department to study water-types as well as their environments and biology." He hummed and looked up. "I think it's also where most Professors get their sobbles for starting trainers."
You gave a look to your sobble. "You hear that? Looks like we're heading to your home town." In response it smiled and gave a small chirp. "Does that mean you've seen Nessa before?"
He shook his with a sigh as you all walked. "Sadly no. But I've heard she's so busy between her modeling and gym leader duties she'll only do one gym battle a day due to her busy schedules, and that's considering if there's nothing important going on for her."
"So depending on the time and amount of trainers heading for Hulbury right now, we could end up waiting longer than we did for Milo's gym battle."
"Ah man!" Hop leaned back putting both arms behind his head. A habit you learnt he did whenever he was annoyed or thinking about something. "That could take forever then....but considering Nessa's Gym would've been one of the farthest from the Turffield Stadium, I'd like to bet not a lot of people would go for hers first and instead went back to Motostoke to challenge Kabu or someone else who was closer....Hm. I wonder if that's why Mr. Milo suggested we go see Nessa after our battle with him. We haven't run into any other Gym Challengers yet. Route 5 is less trafficked."
"Or those rockstar blokes," you thought as you gave another look around at the half field half forested areas you four were traveling past. But that was probably a good thing you hadn't seen them. You wouldn't want them causing you more trouble.
"There Hop goes all smart again!"
"H-Hey! Im just makin' an observation!"
"Well make an observation on that map. How much longer until we get there?"
Hop answered that after pulling out his phone and turning it on, pressing a few buttons. "...About two and a half weeks left."
This...Was going to be a long trip.
And you weren't wrong. Most of the trip was the same day in and day out. Eat, sleep, make camp, walk lots, stop for breaks, maybe a battle would happen every once and a while between Hop and Gloria or maybe they'd try to catch a pokemon every now and then. And you watched her start to carry around that baby Toxel more, usually in her arms like a cat but sometimes in her bag too with his little head poking out looking around. Victor making the comment that now the both of you would be pokemon taxis. It took quite a while of this old routine before you four even got to another town, with a train station. Breaking out of a small wooded area there was clearings now of flat land and Route 5 lead you all to a crossing across the railroad tracks and lead into a small town...Well you weren't sure if you could call it a town per say. It was more like a few homes a little bit a ways from the obvious train station the four of you took refuge in for a break. In the mean time Victor took out his phone once more and decided to flip through the rotom phone he had on your four's location.
"......Hey!," he shouted making you all look at him as he held up the phone all towards you. You leaned closer to get a better look at the screen he pointed to. "According to the map we're a four day walk away from Hulbury. Nearly there!"
"Oh thank Arceus!," Gloria sighed, "I was getting so tired of just walking around like a migrating murkrow."
"And you wonder why I was worried about you rushing into your journey."
"Hey!"
The next few days weren't very eventful or memorable. Just the same rinse and repeat scenarios your small group had been experiencing for the past month or so, until you FINALLY saw it. Well smelt it first would be more accurate. You all were walking up a steep hill that the path was connected too and that's when you smelt something like salt air. You had only been to a beach a few times but there was no mistaking it. Saltwater. And then you heard a very loud horn. It was loud enough to startle your Sobble into ducking behind your head and you perk up. If one had to guess, you would've said it sounded either like a train's whistle or a boat horn. Blinking as shadows flew overheard, you realized they were wild wingulls. ...Wait. Weren't those bird pokemon always like close to water?? You blinked. Shaking your head and hurrying your pace up the hill until the four of you finally made it. From the high point the view was high enough to let the four of you look a good ways ahead and still far but much closer now, maybe a day's travel. What was unmistakenly the glistening blue of the ocean as far on the horizon as you could see, that lead to the coast that clashed with the beginnings of it. The horn you heard was most likely one of the many boats you could faintly make out on the glistening blue and the unmistakable town that was nestled up against it all. It wasn't too big by the looks of it. Definately not Motostoke size, but it was definately bigger than Turffield and Postwick and you could make out the unmistakable structure of a stadium way over there.
Victor pointed with a smile towards the faint town. "There's Hulbury! We're nearly there!"
"Good. Let's get stepping before it gets too dark. If we hurry we'll be there by tomorrow."
And indeed you all were. Traveling until it was sundown, and you decided to set up camp for the night, only to pack up quickly and leave at the first sign of light the very next morning. It was somewhere around ten in the morning when you all finally made it. Seeing the town and beautiful ocean coming into view and getting closer, and closer the more and more you walked. Until you all finally arrived. First walking under a bridge connecting between two large hills, on top of one hill leading to a train station, the familiar pink building of the pokemon center greeted you next as the dirt path of Route 5 changed into concrete streets. Another loud horn shot off to the right of you and as you all looked over there was a giant port with as you suspected lots of ships and boats. Bigger than in game you imagined too. You inhaled a long sigh, the taste of salt on your tongue. If it wasn't for the many boats near the port and other people, you wouldn't have minded just standing there for a moment in the road. But since you didn't want to waste anymore time you sighed and turned to Gloria.
"So." She looked at you and blinked. "What's the plan here?"
"We go to the gym-"
"We head to the hotel-"
Both twins looked at each other for a moment, before Victor cleared his throat.
"I think we should head to the Hulbury's residential hotel first. Just in case one of us have to wait for a gym battle to open we'd have somewhere to stay tonight."
"Well I think we should head to the gym before anyone else gets here," she countered back one arm holding her Toxel and the other placed onto her hip. "It's still pretty early in the morning. If there's a chance no one got there yet one of us could get a spot! Right Hop?"
"Actually, personally I'm kinda hungry and wanted to check out that famous restaurant Hulbury's supposed to have." he mumbled but got ignored by the scowling twins.
You sighed again shaking your head. Teenagers. "How about this?" You held up a hand catching the three's attention. "We'll split up." You suggested. "If we do that we can get things done faster. You two can check out the gym and your brother can get us situated for the night because personally I'd like to take a break from camping, and then Victor can check into the gym as well. Then we can meet back up and get some breakfast..." You looked up towards the sky. "Or lunch depending when we're done."
Victor hummed. "...That doesn't sound like a bad idea actually and it could actually save us time. Now that I think about it, we're probably low on supplies anyways. While we're doing that Y/N can take a list of what we need and get it from the local super market here."
"I like that plan! We can meet up at the Light house."
And so it was agreed. After going through your inventory, and having Victor quickly scribble down a list of things you all needed, the four of you split off. Victor heading in the same direction as the other two with his phone's map out (you guessed the hotel and the stadium must've been down the same road) and you towards the docks list and borrowed money in hand. In all honestly you were just as hungry as the others but that could wait. It didn't take you too long to find Hulbury's local convenience store, it didn't take you all long as well to fill up the considerably large bags of travel foods and start carrying them off back off towards the direction of the light house. ....Only...there was one problem. You had absolutely no idea which direction the lighthouse was in, and with the giant bags of supplies to be split between the four of you obstructing your view, it made it harder to see by all accounts as you tried peeking around and over the large bags. Stumbling a bit and almost bumping into a few people walking past you, they gave you an odd look before carrying on. Certainly didn't help when your sobble gave a small chirp before literally climbing into one of the bags to which you panicked a little. The last thing you needed was him eating the food you just bought especially since it wasn't bought with your money!
"Hey! Bad pokemon!," you shouted jiggling the bags a bit, "You get out of there right now! You're not supposed to be in there!" The sobble peeked itself out over the edge of one of the bag's hearing it's master's voice as you frowned, and you didn't see where you were walking as you walked. "I'm serious! You can't just crawl in there! Out no- Oof!?"
"HEY!?," shouted a woman's voice.
You rammed into something or someone solid and you stumbled back, by some miracle not dropping the bags, and up righted yourself for a moment. Blinking you turned sideways to look at who you bumped into and were met with another woman who was looking at you with a bewildered look like everyone else who saw you walking around like this. The woman had a dark skin complexation with dark black hair with pretty blue streaks and eyes that were bluer than the ocean. What looked like a sports uniform adorned her body. She blinked at you as you stared before you seemed to blink and shake your head.
"Oh. Sorry about that, Miss," You apologized shifting two off the four bags in your arms. "I didn't see you there."
"Uh..Yes, I could tell." She ran an eye over the two bags in your arms and the other two hanging off your elbows. "That's a lot of groceries you're carrying there." Her eyes stopped at the little blue pokemon poking out of the top of one of the bags as it shoved a blue berry into it's mouth.
"Oh. It's not just for me actually. I'm traveling with some others and we needed this stuff." You followed her gaze and you gained a frown when you saw the sobble shove another berry into it's mouth. "HEY!" It fell back into the bag startled with a chirp....but slowly peeked the top of it's head and eyes back over to look at your scowl. "I said NO. Now you get out of there right now! If you're hungry I'll get you something else."
"Oh. Is this little one yours?," both of you looked over as the woman attempted to reach out and pet the sobble. Which resulted in your sobble giving off a sound of fright and immediately scuttle out from the bag in a hurry.
"HEY-" You leaned your head back as it jumped on your head and clung to your hair giving the other woman wide eyes of worry. You grumbled...but sighed and nodded. "Yeah. Sorry 'bout that. He's not used to strangers I guess."
With a smile, the woman placed a hand on her hip and studied the two of you. "Most sobble are, but it seems this one has become very attached to you."
You blew the sobble's tail from your face. "Believe me you don't know the half of it. Say. Could you tell me where I can find the lighthouse? I'm supposed to meet my friends there."
"Sure. I was actually heading towards the stadium actually. The light house is right next to it," she gestured to your bags. "I could even help you if you'd like."
You gave a relieved sigh. "Really?! Yes, thank you. That'd be a huge help."
You happily let the woman take two of the bags you were carrying and you followed her as she motioned for you to follow her. Gloria and Hop were most likely already waiting for you as they had first gone to the stadium and possibly Victor if he hadn't gotten side tracked or anything. As the two of you walked you took the chance to look around at the town. Seemed like the beach down you had gone to before the few times you went to the beach. As you glanced at the woman helping you out you couldn't help but...notice something. Did she seem familiar to you somehow?....You shook your head. Nah. Must've just been your imagination. She must've just looked like someone you've seen before. That's all. The both of you walked from the docks, past what looked like a restaurant of some sort, back towards the Pokemon Center before taking a right and heading down the same path the teens took when the four of you parted ways. From that point the two of you walked down a road with houses on one side and a fence overseeing the ocean on the other. There was a LOT more houses than you remembered in game so it took a good twenty minutes before you even saw the stadium as both of you passed a flight of concrete stairs leading up the hill towards the train station. You looked up and at the stadium as it's shadow loomed over you as you both walked past it. Unlike Milo's stadium this one seemed rather quiet right now even if it was as HUGE as his was. The gym leader mustn't be battling anyone right now where ever she was. As you two continued to walk past it, you blinked seeing a tall structure up ahead which was unmistakably a light house, letting you sigh in relief. FINALLY!! You sighed in relief at seeing the structure and sped up your pacing a bit as the two of you rounding the corner the path lead towards the lighthouse and that's when you noticed the figures standing there. One or two strangers were there taking a picture next to the statues or the ocean view, but there was three you recognized easily as the twins and Hop. They all seemed happy to see you at first. But soon those happy faces turned into surprised and shocked ones the closer you walked. Victor even shaking his head and blinking as you approached.
"Uh...Hey, Y/n. Whatcha got there?"
"Our supplies," you replied arms all sore and tired from the long walk over. Victor blinked as you shoved the two bags you were holding into his arms. "Here. Take these. Im beat." They continued to stare at you even as you turned to the woman and take the other two heavy bags from her. Your brow rising as you turned and saw their wide eyed looks. "....Are you three alright? You all look like you've seen a ghost."
"...Y/n. Do you even know WHO that is?!," Gloria asked pointed towards the woman and you turned to look at her again..before shrugging.
"She helped me out. Thanks by the way."
She nodded. "It was my pleasure."
"Don't you even know who that is!?" Gloria groaned at your utterly confused face as you blankly stared and as a result pointed right at the smiling woman next to you. "You literally don't know!? THAT'S NESSA!! Like the Gym Leader Nessa! The person we traveled all the way here to see!"
You blinked before looking back to Nessa as she glanced at you. "...Oh. Thanks for the help again. It was very nice of you."
She nodded again. "Your welcome. And you." She glanced over to Gloria who still stared in disbelief at her. "You must be a gym challenger right? You're one of the ones endorsed by Leon right?"
Gloria stared at her a little longer before Hop nudged her making her flinch. "HUH!? I mean- Y-Yeah! O-One of them." She gestured to Hop next to her. "And he's one o' the other ones."
"Hello, Ma'am." Hop smiled and waved. "I'm Hop and this is Gloria and that's Victor. You uh...Weren't at the stadium when we went there."
"My apologies," Nessa apologized as you turned back to her. OH! Now you could recognize her easily. She was on the cover of that magazine Gloria showed you and you vaguely remembered seeing her back at the entrance ceremony. "But I just got back from a boating shoot and I've already promised someone else a battle for later today. But I must say, you've become something of a hot topic among the gym leaders."
"Wait. We are?"
She chuckled. "Are you kidding me? Leon never stops talking about how awesome his little brother is and how he's just the smartest kid ever to come out of Postwick."
Hop coughed and scratched at his head in embarrassment. "Well...I wouldn't say that."
"I mean. He's not wrong. You're pretty smart."
"Glory! Don't embarrass me like Mum please!," he begged red faced.
You decided to help give him a break. "I had no idea he spoke so highly of Hop." You spoke to Nessa. Although you wouldn't be surprised considering how hyped up Hop got about Leon, and how loving Leon was to them.
She chuckled again before reaching behind her and pulling something out of her pocket. Well two somethings. "Here you go, Ms. Famous. I already heard about you, so you should learn more about me too." She held out what you made out as cards to Hop and Gloria as the two wide eyed teens took them in disbelief.
"OMG! Another League Card!! Thank you so much, Ms. Nessa! Does this mean you'll be able to battle one of us tomorrow?"
She nodded. "Sure. Just speak to one of my staff at the stadium and we can schedule a battle in the next two days for three." She then pointed behind her. "But I had better head to the stadium. I can't delay my scheduled battle anymore than I've already had."
You nodded in understanding. "We understanding completely, Miss. Thanks again for the help."
She nodded towards you. "I love fishing, but I love pokemon battles even more and I'm itching for a battle with you. Hopefully we'll get to battle real soon." With a wave towards you four, Nessa turned on her heel and began to walk away.
You waved back before turning back to the three teens staring back at you. ".....What?"
"HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW WHO THAT WAS WITH YOU!?,'' Gloria shouted gesturing to where Nessa walked off to which you shrugged again.
"Sorry? I was a little busy with something more important at the moment and I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to her. But she seemed very nice. But how did your guys' lil trip go?"
"I managed to book us a hotel here for a couple nights," Victor answered before gesturing his head over towards the other two. "And we're all set up to fight, but someone already beat us for a spot today."
"Oh. Who?"
"The Mareep Head!," Gloria huffed one hand one her hip and the other waving the small League Card in the air. Mareep Head- OH! She must've been referring to Bede. He must've been the one Nessa was rushing off to battle then. "We just waltzed on in and there he was acting all smug like he jus' won the whole challenge already. He even asked if I "Got Hatenna's good side' on camera. Psh! He's such a stuck up mudbray!"
You could only nod juggling the groceries in your arms. "I...see. Well since there's nothing we can do right now for the moment, why don't we just go back to the hotel Victor mentioned and take care of these?"
Victor nodded in agreement tugging his own bags along as you both turned with Gloria mumbling behind you all the way to the hotel.

A Champion Time For The Heart Ch9 Travels To Hulbury
(This chapter will contain a small time skip of events as well as a past fight between y/n and her mother in the story.)
Tumblr media

Headcanon:
Whispering Rock clearly has a sleeping arrangement problem, with 21 kids and only 18 bunks in the kids cabins area (maybe they were never expecting to have so many campers at once). But kids are springy and it is summer camp after all, so the extra kids sleep in sleeping bags on the floor.
But there is also no apparent place for the counselors to sleep. So headcanon is that there’s a basement in the lodge set up kinda like a military barracks- guess who designed that? Actually, Morry usually sleeps in his treehouse, partially for child supervision and partially because he snores and talks loudly in his sleep, and it was politely(ish) suggested that maybe he’d like the fresh air better. Ford sleeps in his sanctuary where his brain can function. That leaves Sasha and Milla in the lodge basement as basically a shared dorm (which is not at all a source of gossip for folks back at headquarters).

“Okay, Tom Nook is the most bitch-ass motherfucker I’ve ever met. I could fold him like a panini with a slap I swear to god.”
Mornings were definitely one of your favourite times to stream. Of course, you loved staying up into the early hours of the morning only kept awake by the energy drinks running through your veins and the screaming of your friends over your headset, but nothing could beat the sweet simplicity of waking up with your watchers. It was always so calm, your anxiety levels at a low with the small audience building up slowly as more of them woke up. Reading those good morning messages saying that you helped to start their day off on a good foot— nothing would beat that.
The only downside to these scheduled morning streams was having to tear yourself away from the cozy warmth of your bed, especially if there was a certain someone blanketed over you silently persuading you to stay there forever. It was always a rare sight, bruised eyes sealed shut, long eyelashes kissing pale cheeks as small snores escaped from slightly parted lips. Glancing down at the messy black mop that rested on top of your chest, you sighed softly. You knew he’d only been asleep for a few hours, if that, thinking back to the night before where you crawled into bed alone after kissing him goodnight before leaving him to finish editing for his latest video. He worked too hard, but despite you reminding him this every single time he stayed up into the dark hours of the night to finish his work, he always never seemed to be satisfied. Most of the time you were able to coax him from the stuffy confines of his gaming office, bribing him with sweet kisses and promises of cuddles; when he was in the zone, though, nothing could steer his sore eyes away from the monitor. So with a sweet kiss goodnight, you’d make your way to the bedroom, falling asleep to the faint click-clacks of his keyboard.
It was funny how different you were in that aspect. You always loved mornings, the sun shining through the blinds always brought a smile to your face holding the promise of a bright day ahead. It felt good to never be in a rush, to enjoy the still air, and watch the world around you wake up as people settled into their daily routines. The day’s chaos always seemed to leak through into the dark of the night, but in the morning everything felt new and refreshed; the perfect new beginning to another chapter in the story of your life. Though, allowing yourself the guilty pleasure of staying in bed tangled together with your favourite person every so often wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Okay, maybe it was almost every day.
But who could say no when those strong arms encased you so perfectly, holding you so close you couldn’t figure out where you ended and where he started? Who could say no to his warm skin pressed against your own, the weight of his body grounding you as you pulled yourself from the darkness of sleep? Who could say no to being able to study his face up close, running your fingertip ever so lightly along the curve of his jaw, the bridge of his nose, the apples of his cheekbones, watching his eyelids flutter as he stirred softly in his sleep? Who could say no to the pillow talk you shared once those pretty eyes opened, the deep grumble of his morning voice that prickled goosebumps over your skin as he muttered those 3 sweet little words?
Definitely not you.
Well, not often anyway.
Reluctantly pulling your gaze away from the sweet face resting on your chest, you glanced over to the alarm clock on the nightstand. Red numbers reading 9:37 AM that seemed to be glaring back at you pushed any thought of indulging in your morning pleasures straight from your mind. You’d need to be live in 20 minutes. Puffing another sigh from your lips you slowly worked your way out from underneath your personal weighted blanket, trying your best to maneuver him softly onto the pillows to not wake him. Of course, you’d never be that lucky. Hissing through your teeth as your feet hit the icy top of the hardwood floor, you whipped your head around as a warm hand encased your wrist in a loose grip. Beneath messy bed head that could barely be seen from underneath the comforter that you had pulled back on top of him, you see the glimpse of tired eyes clouded with confusion peering out from underneath.
“Angel?” The deep grumble muttered underneath his breath almost made you throw all your plans to the wind and crawl right back into the fluffy clouds you longed to once again get lost in. Huffing out a sigh you slowly turned around, pulling your hand from his grasp only to bury it in the dark locks buried among the pillows. You leaned down softly, pushing your hands through his hair to reveal soft pleading eyes staring back at you, doing nothing but making your heart ache for having to leave so soon. Trancing your thumb along his eyebrow to try and smooth the small furrow that had made its home between them, you sighed softly.
“It’s Thursday, gotta stream puppy.” You watched as a small flash of recognition passed across his bleary eyes, a puff escaping his lips from under the comforter as you watched his chest fall slightly. Pulling his head up from the comforter, you smiled as you felt chapped lips press a small kiss to the inside of your wrist in understanding. Allowing yourself a bit of fun you leaned down pressing your lips to his briefly, giggling softly as a whine escaped his mouth as you pulled away. “Promise I won’t be long, I’ll be back before you even have time to miss me.”
“Too late for that.”

Smiling as you glanced up at your monitor that held your live chat, you watched as your viewers lost it with your threat to an animated shopkeeper. Times like this are what remind you of how grateful you are to your subscribers, they were practically family at this point and you felt you couldn’t be luckier to have such genuine, warm-hearted people that wanted to watch; even when you were cussing out characters that did nothing to you. You were laughing as you read some of the chat replies out loud when you saw your phone light up with a text from where it was sitting on your desk. Excusing yourself for a moment from the stream you grabbed your phone seeing a message from Corpse.
Corpsie💞💞: did you order coffee? someone knocked on the door and there’s a paper bag on the step
Cursing to yourself quietly for forgetting, you answered him quickly saying that you just needed to cut to a break on stream and you’d be out in a minute to grab it. He was wary of even opening the front door these days, and honestly, you couldn’t blame him. The last time you had driven out to pick up whatever was sent into his P.O. Box, there were people waiting outside the building. When you went inside to grab everything, you asked the teller what exactly they were waiting for, to which he told you that they were hoping to catch a glimpse of this faceless internet star as this is where he’d go to get his mail. You don’t think you’ve ever walked faster to your car— trying your best to not grab their attention though your body was shaking with adrenaline, knowing they might’ve seen him while he was waiting there for you. Practically throwing open the driver's door, you tossed everything haphazardly into the back seat, telling Corpse to pull up his hood and mask as you started the car and peeled out of there. That was the last time he left the house.
You sighed, dropping your phone back on your desk as well as the switch that had been sitting in your lap, beginning to explain that you needed a quick break to get your coffee and starting to click through the settings to set up your break screen when you saw your phone light up again.
Corpsie💞💞: nah don’t worry i got it
You barely had time to sit back in your chair as you stared at your phone in disbelief before there was a soft knocking on your office door.
“Just kidding guys, apparently we have a kind guest who’s bringing it to me instead.”
Corpse hearing your voice from behind the door, it swung open to reveal your mop-headed lover sporting his cute plaid pyjama pants and yesterday’s hoodie as he held your coffees and bag in his hand. You grinned to yourself, moving out of the frame of the webcam as you reached out to grab everything, placing it on your desk before turning back to him with a wide smile. Reaching back for his hand, you pulled it down toward you, his body following as your other hand reached up to bury itself in his bedhead. You leaned forward and pressed a small peck onto his lips, mumbling a soft thank you against them as you kissed him once more. While this may have looked like the most simple gesture you knew how difficult it must have been for him, almost wanting to cry at how sweet he was to go to those lengths to do something a little special for you. As you pulled away, you smiled as his face mirrored yours, those soft rosy lips pulled into the sweetest grin you’d ever seen. Resting his forehead against yours, he mumbled back a small “anything for you princess,” the deep rumble of his morning voice sending a chill up your spine as you leaned forward again to steal another sweet kiss. Finally pulling away from you he stood up to his full height, a yawn escaping his mouth; though as he looked back toward the door you could sense his hesitation and grinned widely up at him.
“Do you wanna sit with me for a bit? I can just turn off the camera.” Giggling softly, you watched his head practically whip back toward you nodding a yes as he squeezed your hand, still intertwined with his. Reluctantly pulling it from his grasp, you pulled yourself back toward your monitors as you began to click through your stream settings.
“Well, your favourite guest has decided to grace us with his presence for a little so I’m gonna have to turn off face-cam, but I don’t think you guys will have a problem with that.” You laughed out, watching as your chat began to surge with messages about him. Making sure there was no way you could accidentally turn on the webcam again, you gestured him over to you starting to stand from your chair to grab the other one sitting in the corner of the office when a hand grasped yours, a strong tug pulling you completely off it with; a small yelp escaped your lips as you fell clumsily into your boyfriend's chest. You could hear his laugh from above you as he maneuvered you around in his arms before falling back onto your chair and pulling you into his lap, his face burying itself into the crook of your neck where you could feel that smug grin that was surely painted on his face. With his arms wrapped around you completely, holding you securely to his chest you knew you weren’t going anywhere. Looking up at the chat a laugh was pulled from your lips as your watchers conspired against you, message after message accusing you of doing something unspeakable behind the camera as being the reason you turned it off.
“Guys, literally nothing is happening.” You laughed out, watching as the chat passed so fast you couldn’t even read a full sentence. “Corpse just decided he wanted to share a chair instead of getting his own.”
“Yeah, my bad.” With no trace of any remorse in his monotone answer, another laugh escaped from your lips. Leaning forward to grab your switch and actually start playing again, you settled back into Corpse’s lap knowing this is exactly where you wanted to be. You were only a few minutes back into the game, Corpse and you occasionally reading out some live chat comments excited about his surprise appearance as viewers slowly climbed— his own watchers joining to watch the stream, when he inevitably started to fuck with you. A chill snaked up your spine as you began to feel small kisses trailing up your neck, you should’ve known this was one of the reasons he wanted to have you in his lap— it was easier to get your attention this way. You could feel that smug little smile drift back onto his face as he heard your voice start to shake slightly; at those moments he’d pull away and start replying to messages before turning back and starting all over again. It was the fourth time he began to press those soft lips to the base of your throat when you shrugged him off and shoved the breakfast sandwich you were snacking on into his face.
“Okay, if you want to share a chair you’re gonna have to behave.”
“Okay, okay. Sorry baby, sorry.” Corpse laughed out, voice muffled from behind the sandwich; taking a bite of it and placing it back in front of you, his chest still shaking with laughter. Deciding to hook his chin over your shoulder instead, he went back to watching the live chat, chatting and answering questions— that is before he came across a certain comment that had him furrowing his brows in confusion.
“What’s this about you folding Tom Nook like a panini?”

Tumblr media
Summer was over, and suddenly you found yourself forced back into living.
Or dying.
When you’re in your last year of high school, it’s difficult to tell the difference, though the presence of your best friend Kevin makes it all the more bearable.
Sometimes.
“Have you seen Juyeon?”
“No.” You pointedly give Kevin a look as you fiddle with your locker, and he holds his hands up defensively.
“I was just asking! Everyone’s been talking about how he glowed up in the summer. And you know how he doesn’t post much online, but I don’t see why people are suddenly surprised. Juyeon’s always had good looks. But I guess it’s like you magically become hot when you’re on the football team or something.” Kevin sighs, and you muffle your laughter.
“Stop talking so loud!”
“What? Afraid that someone will hear?” Kevin wiggles his eyebrows. “That J-Juyeon, hey!”
“Kevin, that’s not funny, I swear-” the words die in your throat as you turn to see Kevin very much standing beside Juyeon. He wasn’t wrong when he said Juyeon’s always possessed a dreamy visage; you remember clearly in elementary school whenever he was in your classes, how many students would vy for his attention, and as much as you wished to as well, you’d always shyly skirted around the competition as Kevin jokingly put it.
You’re quick to bury your face back into your locker as you place your belongings and books as slowly as you can while they converse.
“How was your summer?” Juyeon asks, and just hearing his voice makes your face flush, flustered.
“Good! We,” Kevin grabs your arm playfully, and you cringe, clutching the locker door to continue hiding, and Kevin relents. “Had lots of fun! How was yours?”
They converse casually for a few more (excruciatingly long) minutes, until someone else calls Juyeon over, and leaves you back with Kevin.
“So?” What did you think?” Kevin smirks. “Do you agree? You barely looked at him, maybe I should call him back over-”
You punch his arm, hard, while swinging your bag over your shoulder, and Kevin cackles despite the pain you inflicted on his arm.
“You better sleep with one eye open tonight, Moon.”
Tumblr media
“Saw you talking to Kevin and you know who earlier.” Hyunjae nudges Juyeon in the ribs, as they walk to the football field, grinning as Juyeon shies away embarrassedly.
“Just Kevin. I don’t think they wanted to talk to me.”
Hyunjae is silent, thinking, before he speaks up again carefully. “Y’know, for someone as handsome as you are Ju, you’re pretty easy going.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Juyeon, someone asked you to marry them back in elementary school and you just said okay.”
“What else was I supposed to say?”
“No?”
“Okay, fine. But I don’t see what this has to do with anything right now.” Juyeon huffs.
“You’ve liked them for years now. But I mean… you’ve barely even tried to tell them.”
“Maybe I will.” Juyeon replies defensively, and Hyunjae tries to hide his smile as Juyeon stalks off, annoyed by his friend’s insinuations.
“Did it actually work?” Changmin sidles up to Hyunjae once Juyeon is out of earshot, and he grins, shrugging.
“No idea. We’ll just have to see.”
“So mean.” Changmin snorts. “Making him upset to chase after them finally.”
“Hey! He needed a little push, and I gave it to him.” Hyunjae exclaims seriously, and Changmin shrugs, chuckling.
“Better hope it works.”
Tumblr media
“Kevin, I’m not gonna fight you over this again, you already know that I-”
So absorbed in your conversation with Kevin, you aren’t paying any attention to what’s going on in the grassy field that you both walk across to access the shorter route home until it’s too late.
“Watch out!”
The shout comes closer than you’d like, and you barely have time to turn and determine the source before you’re tackled to the ground.
Hands come to shield the back of your head, arms caging you in, and you can only squeak as you hit the grass, eyes shut.
“Are you okay?”
Concerned eyes peer down at you as you crack open your own, eyes that were all too familiar.
Lee Juyeon.
You can see Kevin in the corner of your eye, biting on his fist as he’s torn between horror, concern, satisfaction, and excitement. You can hear the football team getting closer, Changmin already stooping to pick up the ball in close proximity to you.
“You couldn’t have just tried to catch the ball instead of tackling them to the ground, Ju?” Sangyeon snorts, and Juyeon flushes.
“Uh, right. But I didn’t want to crash into you, so I thought...” he trails off, scratching the back of his head as he lifts himself up, and you follow quickly.
In your haste, you’re almost blindly scrambling upwards, resulting in knocking heads with Juyeon, a resound thunk that has everyone wincing.
He yelps, flopping to the side, and you clutch your head with one hand and Kevin’s extended one with the other, stammering apologies as you absolutely make a run for it.
Juyeon doesn’t move, eyes blankly staring at the sky, as the team peers at him, grinning.
“Nice one, Ju.” Hyunjae chuckles, and Juyeon groans.
“Shut up.”
Tumblr media
“Is your head okay?”
“For the third time Kev, yes, I’m fine!” You laugh as he hands you another ice pack worriedly. “It’s just a little sore.”
“I can’t believe he caught you like that, you should’ve seen it.” Kevin snorts after a few moments of silence pass. “It was like a romance movie.”
“I should’ve stayed to see if he was okay, but everyone was staring.” You sigh, and he pats your head comfortingly.
“Don’t worry, I asked Changmin and he said that Juyeon’s alright. Aren’t you lucky you have such a wonderful best friend who has all these connections?”
“You’re just as awkward as I am, don’t try to fool me.”
“Yeah, but…” Kevin hesitates, and you look over at him curiously, urging him to continue. “You’re sometimes too scared to get over being awkward, y’know? And then that means you don’t get out there as much, or have that many friends, or-”
“Okay, I get it.” You snort. “But I don’t see how Juyeon has anything to do with this.”
“Because you’ve liked him since elementary school, dummy.” He rolls his eyes dramatically as you pout. “And we’re almost done with high school. I think you should tell him.”
“Easier said than done.” You sigh. “You think everything’s like the movies Kev.”
“Oh honey, you’re the main character of your own life, so it might as well be a movie to make it more fun.” He snickers as you roll your eyes. “Okay, then at least talk to him without running away?”
“I don’t run away.”
Kevin glares at you.
“You refused to go to that new ice cream shop over the summer with me because he worked there! And you always excuse yourself to go to the bathroom whenever we bump into him in public, and after today at the football field, do you need me to go on?”
“No… but I don’t know how to talk to him.” You whine, and Kevin smiles triumphantly.
“That’s why you’ll be coming with me this weekend to the arcade. All the boys will be there.”
“Did you plan this?” You glare, and Kevin gasps in a way that answers your question.
“Never!”
“Sure.” You grumble sarcastically, though not denying his eager offer, and Kevin smiles.
Tumblr media
When the weekend comes, you couldn’t be more nervous.
You tell yourself it’ll be easy enough, eleven of them total, and only one of them you had to subtly avoid. Yet somehow you seemed to always end up beside or in close proximity to him (due to the proud teammates of his).
“Sorry about the other day.” Juyeon offers meekly as you’re all entering the arcade, and you laugh awkwardly.
“It’s alright. Thanks for uh, catching me.”
“No… no problem.”
“I, uh,” you try not to choke on your saliva as you realize how close Juyeon is walking beside you. Being a large group, it was instinct to pack together in places you couldn’t all roam around. His hand brushes against yours, and it’s for a split second that your fingers link together before Kevin excitedly points you towards the claw machine.
“I saw that.” Chanhee sighs sympathetically, patting Juyeon on the shoulder, and he all but wilts, running a hand through his hair. “Try winning them something from the claw machine maybe. Kevin sucks at it.”
“Yeah, maybe.” Juyeon murmurs, but Chanhee knows he’s discouraged, despite his pure attempt.
“C’mon, I’ll go make Sunwoo buy us slushies.”
As Juyeon walks with Chanhee, he doesn’t notice your glances at him.
“Why do you look so shaken up?” Kevin blinks as he finally notices your wide eyes as he tears his gaze away from the stuffed prizes.
“I think… I think Juyeon tried to hold my hand.”
“He what?” Kevin chokes, and you shush him.
“He tried, before you pulled me away to the claw machine, which you know you suck at!”
“Go back, oh my god, go back!”
“Go back where?” You hiss, and he thinks.
“I dunno! Pretend you want a stuffed animal prize really bad or something, that usually works in the movies!”
“This isn’t a movie!”
“You know what this means?” Kevin stares at you excitedly. “He likes you!”
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” You flush, glancing around to make sure no one was in earshot of Kevin’s ecstatic voice. “Maybe he just accidentally did it.”
“I bet he’ll confess to you today.” Kevin announces surely, and you bite the inside of your cheek.
“Whatever you say, Kev.”
Tumblr media
It was quite the contrary.
Instead, the rest of the day, Juyeon barely interacted with you, besides awkwardly stilted conversations in which Juyeon believed you didn’t like him, and you were just confused.
Juyeon’s ready to leave it all behind him until he walks into the locker room before practice a few days later.
“Juyeon.”
Slowing in his tracks, he scans his surroundings, each of his team members sitting solemnly on the benches, as if waiting for his arrival. He glances at the clock, seeing he wasn’t late to practice, and furrows his eyebrows.
“Y-Yes?” He answers reluctantly, feeling very much uncomfortable with their stares, a thin sheen of sweat breaking out on his skin.
“Sit down. We have something very important to tell you.”
He takes a seat next to Sangyeon who patted the empty space, looking back and forth warily at the surrounding boys.
“Juyeon, they like you.”
Juyeon sits there pensively, and everyone holds their breath.
“No.” He shakes his head, and everyone explodes at the one syllable.
“What do you mean no? We just told you!”
“I knew we should’ve made the PowerPoint, I knew it!”
“We’re not tricking you this time, it’s not a prank!”
“I just… I don’t see it. I mean, they always avoid me, or never say anything to me, and whatever I try to do, it never works.” Juyeon frowns, and the team deflates slightly.
For Juyeon’s innocence had multiple facets, both positive and negative; whether it was him using it to sweet talk his way out of an escalating situation, increasing his gullibility or easily upset emotions, or using it as a factor of his curiosity and hard work, it also often blinded him in the signals he received from others.
“Juyeon, they’re just nervous to be around you! Like how you are with them!” Eric explains, agreement rising in the room.
“So you’re saying since they like me… they keep avoiding me?” Juyeon squints.
A pause ensues as they puzzle his words together.
“Yeah, basically.”
The dubious expression still lingers and Sunwoo gets up, sighing.
“Alright then, let’s make a bet.”
Juyeon raises an eyebrow.
“Fine. I’m listening.”
Tumblr media
“Well, that was a fail.”
“I thought we could win!” Sunwoo pouts, and the team groans.
“It was a good try.” Changmin laughs, and Juyeon smiles. Sunwoo had bet the success of their football game upon Juyeon’s confession, only to lose by three points.
“It’s okay. I’m gonna tell them anyways.”
“Huh?” Sunwoo blurts confusedly. “But you won?”
“I know.” Juyeon grins sheepishly. “But I can't help thinking maybe you guys were right, since you’ve never steered me wrong before, and I can at least try to tell them.”
“Took you long enough. All this work to make yourself sound like a cool teen movie protagonist.” Hyunjae snorts, and Juyeon flushes as everyone laughs.
“Let us know how it goes!”
Tumblr media
Kevin sends you a text to meet him at the football field, telling you he’d forgotten his sweater there, and amidst your cursing at your friend at his forgetful mind, you almost don’t realize the figure waiting for you isn’t Kevin.
“I like you.” Juyeon blurts, and you blink, not having any time to say anything.
“I- what?”
“I’ve liked you ever since that day in elementary school when I fell and you gave me a Hello Kitty bandaid because I was bleeding.”
You remember that day, shaky hands handing over the emergency bandage you kept in your bag as Juyeon accepted it thankfully, giving you a charmingly toothy smile that had your heart fluttering.
“I honestly don’t really know what I’m saying right now, I had a plan but I can’t really remember it now, so I-”
“Juyeon.” You cut him off, and his mouth snaps shut. “Breathe.”
He inhales. Exhales. You do the same to bolster yourself.
“I… I like you too.” You admit, and silence falls for a few moments before Juyeon laughs.
It’s a laugh he can’t hold back, bubbling up in his chest, and you find yourself joining him.
“What… what do we do now?” He gasps between giggles, and you’re wiping at your watery eyes with an airy shrug.
“Go on a date, losers!” A voice shouts down, and both of you look at the bleachers, where everyone stood up, cheering. “Kiss!”
“Were you guys there the entire time?” Juyeon calls out, and you shake your head embarrassedly at their reply.
“Duh!”

1: congrats on 300!!
2: may I request anything fluffy with Wolffe. Maybe some cuddling or taking a nap together?
Hiii Alyssa 💕
Hehe thank you so much sweetie!!! & yesss of course you can!! I live for soft, fluffy Wolffe, I absolutely adore this man (he is by far my favourite clone, I shouldn't have favs - I know, I'm sorry!!) Also I don't even know if this is fluff... 😑
"Wolffe?"
"Hmm..." The man in doubt let out a low hum of acknowledgement, eyes downcast on his holopad, reading through the thousands of reports that had happened in the past 2 weeks. The past two weeks, maker knows what the 104th had been upto for him to have gathered such a plethora of reports. Stuck in his own little world of reports, he had accidentally ignored what you were saying only to look up and see you stood infront of him, your arms crossed with a slight frown on your face.
Raising an eyebrow in disbelief, you snatched the holopad from Wolffe before locking it away.
"Y/N! What are you doing? I've got th-"
"I don't care. You've been at it the entire day, and I mean the entire day! Have you even had a look at the time?" You grumbled in annoyance, your boyfriend was tiring himself out, his armour was scruffly thrown on the chair, his usual styled hair was curling out in all sorts of places. But worst of all were the bags under his eyes. His cybernetic eye watched you carefully, while his normal golden brown eye watched you tiredly. You could see the exhaustion creeping up on him as he let out a deep sigh, rubbing his eyes harsly.
"Wolffe..."
"I know cyar'ika, I j-just need to finish these!" Wolffe protested as he got up from his seat, ready to get his holopad back before you stood infront of him and blocked his way with a hand on his chest.
"No."
Wolffe blinked back at you a few times. "What do you mean 'no'?"
"I mean no. You are not going back to that holopad for the next 8 hours at least." You guided him to the bed that was located on the left side, roughly pushing him to sit down. "Don't make me force you Wolffe."
"Y/N, cyare, you don't understand. I need to finish them. The General needs them for tomorrow." Wolffe sat up in bed, getting ready to stand once more.
"Maker help me, I swear to you Wolffe if you do not go to sleep right now, I will use the force to make sure you do." Before Wolffe could get another word in you cut him off. "And besides, I can talk to Master Plo about this."
Wolffe let out a little growl. "No. Do not talk to the General about this."
"I will if I have to." You retorted, standing your ground. Eyes glaring at his as you crossed your arms, a frown etched onto your face, ready to keep Wolffe in that bed at all costs.
"Cyare..." Wolffe spoke softly, his eyes tired as he watched you. You shook your head in reponse.
"Please Wolffe. Just for an hour or so, I can't- you look exhausted, hell you look worse than you did when you had your cybernetic eye done." You pleaded, cupping his tired face in your hands.
Wolffe gave you literal puppy dog eyes, and if you weren't such a stubborn woman, you would fallen for them. "Please cyare? For me?"
Wolffe let out a deep sigh, the minute you had touched his face he was a gonner, and then you had to go and use his words agsint himself. "Only if you stay with me..." He murmured in a small voice, looking down at your robes as he fiddled with them.
Your heart clenched in adoration for this beautiful man, he was still so shy with you after being together for a year or so. His fingers twiddling with your robes as you placed a soft kiss on his forehead. "Of course cyar'ika. Just let me get out of these robes and I'll join you."
Wolffe let out a little grin as your lips left his skin, and watched you quickly change out of your clothing before tucking yourself into his shoulder. He wrapped an arm around your waist pulling you even closer to him as he snuggles into the crook of your neck.
"Y/N?"
"Mmhh..."
"Did you set the alarm?"
"Of course I did. We'll be up and ready before you know Wolffe." You whispered, leaning up to kiss his lips.
Little did Wolffe know you planned to let the man sleep til dusk.
***
Hours later, well 7 hours later to be exact, Wolffe had woken up. His eyes fluttered as he rubbed them, not feeling you beside he abruptly sat up, scanning the room for any sign of you. He saw your Jedi robes were still here, lightsaber too, but your brown cloak was gone, as were your boots.
Where on earth could she have gone?
Wolffe muttered to himself, he would have called out for you, commed you even but he didn't know where you were. Slowly but surely he pulled himself out of bed, tracing a hand over where your body laid with him, the mattress was still warm, so you couldn't have left that long ago.
Pulling on a shirt he slipped out from under the covers in search of his girlfriend only to open the door and bump straight into her.
"Y/N!" He yelped as he held onto your waist for stability, eyes frantic as he finally focused on who else was stood there. "General!"
"Commander. You look well rested, I'm glad you've been taking care of yourself." General Po commented as he took in Wolffe's dishevelled state.
"I-i er. I was jus-"
"Do not worry Wolffe, there is no need to explain yourself. I'm glad the reports have been done and on that note I will leave you to be."
"Padawan?"
"Yes Master?"
"Do not forget what I said." You nodded in response, a small smile curling onto your lips as Plo walked away. Wolffe guided you back into the room, sleepy eyes watching your every move as you took off your boots and joined him back in bed.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" You asked, squeezing his cheeks before placing a soft kiss directly on his lips.
"What was the General doing outside? What did he mean by the reports are all done? Why did he question you?" Wolffe let out in one entire breath, softly grabbing your arms too look at him. "What have you done?"
You blinked rapidly before letting out a little giggle. "I've never heard you talk that fast before! Can you do it again?"
"Y/N."
"Don't worry about it Wolffe. It's sorted, and no I didn't tell him about the work piling up but I did mention that we have other people having their jobs for a reason." You smiled before lying down in bed and pulling the covers up to your chin, then covering your face.
"I- I don't- Why would you do that for me?" Wolffe asked as he climbed over you, settling his legs on either side of your body while he pulled the covers down from your face.
"Because I love you silly. And I don't like seeing you stressed." You smiled as he leaned forwards, placing his forehead against yours, his tanned hands cuping your face. "Plus you have this cute little wrinkle that appears in the middle of your eyebrows and it makes you look old."
Wolffe let out a small huff before rolling his eyes kissing you deeply. His lips against yours as he sweetly conveyed his love for you into his kiss. "I love you too cyare. So much. You have no idea how grateful I am for you."
"I know sweetheart. That's why Master Plo gave us the day off." You giggled. "We can finally spend some time together."
You swore you'd never seen Wolffe grin so hard before he flopped right onto your body, wrapping his arms around your waist as he lay on your chest.
"Thank you Y/N."

☆ [nostalgic] summer romance!au yuta im not late for once! hehe happy birthday yuta!  find others here: johnny | haechan | taeil | taeyong | mark | jaemin | yangyang
“so,,,,,,,where exactly did you find them?”
the boy infront of you scratches the back of his head, his eyes shifting nervously to the floor
“outside the skate park.”
“someone just put them there? in a box?”
“yeah, like i told you - one second there was nothing and i was you know - skating - and then i looked back at the same spot and there was this box with -”
he motions and you look down at the four baby kittens, all curled around each other, all matted fur and raggedy looking tails
“ok. and you brought them here, which was the right thing to do - um-”
you look at him for a solid moment, piercings in every ear, nose ring, oversized hoodie, beat up board under his arm
“yuta. my names yuta.”
“well yuta, if they’re not yours then ill be taking them in as strays.”
he straightens up
“are you going to ..... are going to take care of them? or are you going to-”
you get what he’s insinuating from the way his face pales a little with fright
you shake your head, no - this isn’t a kill shelter first of all, and also kittens are always in demand to be adopted so once they get in healthy shape a loving family will probably take them in
you explain this all to yuta, who fidgets in front of the counter, and then leaves without a word when you ask him if there’s anything else you can help with
you are a little ticked at the rude exit, but a small and hungry meow shifts your focus
maybe four days pass - when the door to the shelter opens again
you’re on night duty, the other volunteer - taeyong - is in the back working on some adoption paperwork processing
and so you stand up and expect someone to scurry in as usual, looking ashamed and embarrassed, handing you off their ailing cat or misbehaving puppy
which isn’t the animals fault at all - but usually the incompetency of a novice owner
but instead you see yuta. again.
“are the kittens ok?”
you register the question and narrow your eyes
“listen if you didn’t just find them and were actually their owner you can’t jus-”
“no, no - id never abandon them like that - i-if they were mine.”
his eyes blaze a little and by the way his voice goes higher you realize he’s probably telling the truth
he has the some board under his arm and the same old looking hoodie - this time his hair is more messy, as if he came here in a rush
“i just wanted to make sure they’re ok.”
you tap your fingers against the counter and sigh
“follow me.”
he breaks into a smile but you snap your fingers and point to the board
“that thing stays out here.”
he obliges, leaning it up against one of the walls and tailing behind you as you open the door to the back
taeyong only shifts an eyebrow at the sight of you too - but goes back to flipping through papers as you stop in front of an incubator
“two of them are in here because they were in a critical condition, but the other two are over there - probably romping around with the others.”
yuta looks through the opening and the light reflects back on his face, the worried look he had been wearing turns into a heartwarming smile
and he coos at them a little before you almost have to drag him away
back behind the counter, you watch him pick his board up
this time he thanks you before he goes and asks;
“are you the one taking care of them?”
“for the most part, but other volunteers do too when im not on my shift. why?”
he pushes the door open and shrugs
“you seem like you’d do the best job at it - taking care of them and all.”
before you can even respond, and you can’t because the shock of the statement kind of paralyzes you, yuta is gone
all you see is him get on his board and skate away through the window
we’ve met once - well twice - but it’s nice i gave you such a good impression?
you check your watch two weeks later when you’re on night duty again. there’s no way he’s coming, but this is around the time he stopped by-
“hey.”
you look up and yuta’s at the counter. no board this time, but the same hoodie.
if you had known each other longer, you might have realized he got another stud in his right ear.
“are you here to finally adopt them?”
you ask, because you’re genuinely curious, also what other reason would he have for showing up here a third time
he shakes his head
“no, i can’t take care of them - even if i wanted to.”
you are about to tell him that’s a lame excuse, but you hear him mutter after
“i have to figure out how to take care of myself first.”
so you don’t answer, instead you motion for him to follow you
this time, you let him play with one of the kittens and you see the way he giggles and holds them carefully, they lean into him and although skittish with most
they seem comfortable and almost serene in the palm of his hands
you know you shouldn’t really be letting him back in here, but the happiness painted across him in the moment washes away any caution you would have harbored with anyone else
when you have to say goodbye this time, you are surprised that yuta asks when your night shift ends
“6 am.”
“woah, isn’t it still dark out then?”
“it’s the middle of summer so the sun comes out while im on the train.”
he nods, waves, and disappears again.
when your shift ends - you pack your things - and say goodbye to the animals and taeyong
you shrug your bag over your shoulder and don’t even realize yuta is sitting on the curb outside until you turn in the direction of the train and hear him go
“hey - wait!”
you feel slightly weird, but not unsafe as he walks beside you
“how long were you out there?”
“not that long, i went back to the skate park - skated till like 4ish with friends then just went down to the beach.”
“is that what you’ve been doing with your summer nights?”
you mean it as a bit of a joke, but he nods - running a hand through his hair - “not much else to do.”
“isn’t anyone worried you’re staying out that late?”
“no. no one tends to worry about me.”
you think about that phrase on the ride home.
realizing that you should have asked yuta about it when you had the chance
so instead you show up the next day at the skate park
you look around, and then you see him
he’s leaning against the fence - his board on the ground beside him, with his hoodie pilled ontop and a half finished energy drink
he’s got a sleeveless black tanktop on, messily tucked into scuffed looking jeans.
some other skaters are talking to him and he’s laughing
but he has his arms crossed and even though he looks part of the group
something about him is defensive and keeping others at bay
you don’t meant to stare, and you start thinking this was actually foolish of you to do, until he turns his head and catches your gaze
he jogs over - some people from inside the park wolf whistle and he flips them off
“i know you didn’t miss me or anything, so what are you doing here?”
you narrow your eyes - that’s the first thing he thinks to say?
“well, i just was thinking about something and- well ill just ask.”
he puts his hands in his pockets and looks at you in a way you are not used to being looked at
like he’s searching inside your expression for truthiness
or maybe safety
“is that why you brought the kittens to us. because you thought like you, no one else would worry about them?”
your voice is low, almost a whisper and the look on yuta’s face softens
“yeah.”
he chuckles, but you can tell it is sad
“kind of pathetic, huh?”
“no.”
you reject
“taking care of others is never pathetic.”
a silence quilts the conversation, but you don’t feel like it is depressive at all
instead you suddenly announce
“ill do it.”
“do what?”
“ill worry about you, so for starters, stop hanging out here until 4 am and go home and sleep.”
he’s smiling when he asks and so it betrays what point he’s trying to make
“hey, i didn’t ask for you to worry-”
“too bad. im making the decision to on my own. also, if you want to see the kittens, come during the day.”
surprisingly, yuta takes you up on the order
he shows up the following week at a normal hour of the day and when he’s playing with those kittens again
the light on his face is somehow stronger
he waits for you again to finish work, this time you ask him why - it’s light out and you don’t need to be walked to the train
“oh im not here to walk you to the train.”
“then why are you here?”
“to take you on a date.”
the date is - as you might have guessed - at the skate park
where you wobble around on the board as yuta holds you steady by the waist
you keep almost falling over so in due time you just tell him to let you give up
the two of you can go spread out on a bench and drink something cold instead
yuta agrees, but he insists that with more practice you’ll get better. you just don’t think so.
and this little day, becomes an almost weekly endeavor
you work your job at the shelter and yuta picks you up
you two usually end up doing absolutely nothing together, just walking around and talking
and yet it feels at the same time that you are doing everything together
everything that people do to survive
eating, talking, breathing, touching
when yuta first kisses you it is on the steps leading down into the train.
he kisses with an intensity you have never experience from anyone else before
so much so that you get shy and stop him because you are in public and it is broad daylight
“are you suggesting we continue somewhere more dark and private?”
he tickles against your ear and you push him playfully away
escaping down into the train before he can pick apart your embarrassment
needless to say, it does happen - how can it not when yuta ignores you telling him to not wait around after your night shift ends
and he’s there, and the summer darkness is sweltering, and he is too
and taeyong is off on sick leave, no one else is there to watch the animals with you and the little office in the back is cramped but it fits two people just perfectly
you mutter when you’re both getting dressed again that you hope the animals didn’t hear anything
and yuta, with just his jeans on - prances out to check on the kittens
then the day comes - when a young couple stops in and decides they’re going to adopt all four.
it’s bittersweet to let them go, and it almost hurts to tell yuta about it later on
with you pressed into his arms. but he just squeezes you.
“im happy they find someone that’ll worry about them.”
you agree and then his lips speak against your hair
“im happy i found someone who will worry about me too.”
you pull back and yuta waits for your reaction you lean in and kiss him gently
“im happy i get to worry about you, yuta.”
he grins and mumbles that you can’t say things like that and expect him not to keep falling more and more crazily in love with you.
but that’s exactly what you expect, and you expect that he’ll keep feeling that way
because you do
even years later
when it’s both your turn to finally worry about something together
“can we adopt four?”
“no, only one yuta.”
“fine - but what if we find four kittens like i did when we first met?”
you roll your eyes, “that’ll be a miracle.”
you walk through the doors of the shelter and are greeted with a wave from the receptionist
“are you guys looking for a dog or a cat?”
“we’re looking for a kitten, do you have any?”
yuta’s arm is around your waist and you want to tell him to stop looking at you and pay attention when the receptionist brightens
“yes! we actually just got a whole litter, would you like to see them.”
you nod and catch yuta’s wide eyes - he mouths
“a litter? isn’t that more than four? are we about to adopt like eight ca-”
you pinch his cheek, tell him to stop dreaming, but he just nuzzles in against your ear
the receptionist giggles into her palm at the affection between you two and you mumble that gosh, looks like you already adopted a big kitten all those years ago.

my ko-fi! thank you :)
Never in your life did you think you'd ever agree to do something as outdoorsy as camping, yet all it took was Harry asking you very sweetly one time, and you immediately agreed. You'd never been one to spend an excessive amount of time with nature. You loved a good sunrise and sunset, just like most people. Sometimes you'd even wake up early and go on a sunrise hike with Harry if he promised to make you breakfast once you were finished. Occasionally, you'd go on walks and runs with him, and spend some time down at the beach. That was the extent of the outdoor activities you'd partake in, though. However, Harry had the grand idea to go camping for the weekend as he had a bit of time off, and this was something he'd been talking about wanting to do for a while.
"Don't you wanna be one with nature? Help me pitch a tent? Get your hands a lil' dirty?" He asked you when you started having second thoughts about going with him, the idea of sleeping on the hard ground inside a small tent a major turn off.
"I mean, I can think of better ways to spend my weekend," you tell him, stirring the pot of soup you were making on the stove. It's the night before you were supposed to leave, and Harry already had the car packed, way too excited to wait any longer. "You know I always get the worst bug bites."
"That's what bug spray is for!" he tells you cheerily, snaking his arms around your waist and placing a wet kiss to your neck. "C'mon, Y/N. I promise it'll be worth it."
You sink into Harry's kisses, feeling wobbly in your knees as it was one of your most sensitive spots— and he knew that. "I suppose it'd be nice to get out of the city for a bit. Jus' me and you, yeah?" You didn't want anyone else to see how out of your element you were in the outdoors as you found it to be a little embarrassing. Harry hums, placing more open mouth kisses on your skin.
"Just me," he pauses to kiss you. "You," another kiss. "And the birds ‘n the bees." You blush, choosing to ignore his sexual innuendo.
"I guess it's too late to back out now, especially since you already took it upon yourself to pack a suitcase for me," you tell him, rolling your eyes and turning off the stove. "I'll give it a try, Harry. Besides, it's only a weekend, yeah? What could possibly go wrong?"
⋆⋆⋆
As it turns out, many, many things could go wrong during a weekend-long camping trip.
Harry told you that you didn't need to pull up directions because he knew where he was going, but you quickly realized that your stubborn boyfriend was hopelessly lost. "I don't think we're heading in the right direction, darling," you informed him from the passenger seat, opening up the Maps app on your phone. "You're positive you don't want me to give you directions? No shame in admitting you're lost."
Harry mutters under his breath, squinting his eyes to look at the freeway signs. He sighs, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. "Think I missed m'bloody exit," he tells you, clearly growing frustrated. "Can yeh tell me where 'm supposed to be, love? I think once I figure out the exit, we'll be good."
You and Harry were choosing to not venture too far out of Los Angeles, but far enough so you would be able to enjoy your time together without prying paparazzi. For this reason, he settled on a spot known to be a little more remote, about 50 miles north of downtown. Once you pull up the directions on your phone, your suspicions are confirmed. Harry was headed in the complete opposite direction, and he missed the exit nearly ten miles back. "Yeah, you're gonna need to take the next exit you see, and then we have to go back in the opposite direction. Just about ten miles too far."
"Ten miles? Lemme see tha'," he holds his hand out for your phone and pulls the car over on the freeway's side, turning on his hazards. "Huh, you're right. How'd we miss that, babe?"
"We missed it because you insisted you didn't need directions," you remind him, exasperated. "I'm from here, and I don't even know how we're supposed to get there!" Harry laughs, re-emerging onto the freeway.
"I guess I should've just let you read me the directions, huh? Don't worry, we'll be there soon. S'what? Ten miles? We'll be there in twenty minutes."
However, twenty minutes quickly turned into forty when you found yourselves stuck in the morning commute traffic. Harry fiddles with the radio as you go 5 miles per hour (on the freeway!), trying not to let the infamous Los Angeles traffic get him down. Although you were a bit behind the schedule he'd created, it was still only 7:30 am. You had the whole day ahead of you, and he couldn't wait to get you out in the wilderness and teach you how to pitch a tent and make the perfect s'more."
Eventually, you make it to the campgrounds. You had to admit that it was absolutely beautiful— tall, looming pine trees, snow-capped mountains, picnic tables, patches of even ground you figured would be perfect to set up the tent on, and even a couple outhouses. Harry gives you a smug look when he sees your awestruck face, glad that he was the first to show you something from your own city.
"It's beautiful up here, innit? So peaceful. Looks like we're here by ourselves too," he gestures towards the empty campgrounds. "Nice and private."
You nod, unbuckling your seatbelt as Harry puts the car in park. "I'm already feelin' more relaxed," you joke, opening the door and stepping out to stretch your stiff limbs. "Should we walk around and take a peek at everything before we get ourselves set up?"
"Yeah, s'good idea," he gets out of the car himself and walks around to you, grabbing your hand. "Maybe we can go hiking later? Hear there's a nice little waterfall somewhere around here. Would love to see that." You hum in agreement, walking along the dry ground, leaves crunching under your feet.
"That sounds nice. I can't believe I've never been here," you tell him incredulously, swinging your hands. "It's so gorgeous. And is it just me, or is the air here like, super crisp?" Harry chuckles, nodding in agreement.
"I don't think it's just you, poppet. We're finally away from all that L.A. smog, can take some nice, deep breaths. This will be great for m'asthma." You laugh, and a comfortable silence falls between you. Occasionally, Harry will say, "Look at tha' bird!" or "That's the biggest tree 've seen in my life!" but you walk in silence, for the most part, enjoying each other's company.
"Do you think we should turn back?" you ask your boyfriend, stopping to look back in the direction you came from. "We've been walkin' for a minute. I don't think we should venture too far from the car." You were starting to grow tired and weren't in the right shoes for walking much longer.
"Yeah, let's get back and get that tent set up. Also gettin' kind of hungry," Harry tells you, turning you back around in the direction you'd come from. "How's tea and eggs sound?"
⋆⋆⋆
"Harry, you've got to be fuckin' kidding me!"
"Y/N, I swear I packed it! It has to be somewhere in here!"
"We've emptied out the entire car, Harry!"
Upon returning to the campsite, your boyfriend was excited to get the tent out of the car, so you could "really get this camping trip started," as he said. Yet, when he went in the trunk of his car to retrieve the tent, it was nowhere to be found. Neither one of you panicked at first, figuring he might've squeezed it in the backseat instead, as the trunk was pretty full. It wasn't there, either. Now, your suitcases and cooler was laid out around the car, but the tent was nowhere to be found. He runs his fingers in frustration through his hair, tapping his foot while he contemplates calling one of his assistants and asking her to bring it to him.
"Harry, don't make her do that. You already told her she could have the weekend off. It's not her fault you forgot it," you scold, digging your shoe's toe into the dirt. "We can just sleep in the car."
"That's so uncomfortable," he mewls, placing your suitcases back into the car. "Maybe we should just go home. We're not off to a very good start, maybe it's a sign?"
"No way, H. I've already called off work to come here with you, we're staying," you insist, reaching back into the car to grab the electric tea kettle you've bought. "Let's get a little breakfast in our stomachs and then go see that waterfall, how's that sound?" Harry gives you a reluctant look but agrees, reaching in the cooler to grab the carton of eggs you've brought along. He grabs the small skillet, albeit your favorite one that you told him not to bring here, and grabs a small charcoal bag to light the grill.
"Have yeh got a lighter on ya?" Harry asks, walking over to the small grill beside the picnic table. You raise your eyebrows at him.
"Me? You didn't ask me to bring it! Are you telling me we can't even light the grill now?" You couldn't believe everything that could go wrong on your camping trip was going wrong, but now it seemed like you wouldn't even be able to prepare hot meals for the next two days.
"Yes, I did, Y/N," Harry argues back calmly, not wanting to raise his voice. "Remember? I bought that long one so it would be easier to use. Said, 'Babe, make sure yeh grab the lighter off the counter.'" You think for a moment and then shake your head, sure Harry did, in fact, not tell you to grab the lighter, and he was just trying to push the blame to you.
"Now what? We can't cook the meat or vegetables all because you couldn't remember to bring the lighter," you tell him sharply, feeling yourself growing more annoyed by the second. You were incredibly frustrated because you weren't keen on the idea of camping in the first place, but you came along anyway, not expecting so many things to go wrong.
Harry closes his eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath, a thing he does every time things start getting heated between the two of you because he hates fighting. "Well, it's at home, and there's not much we can do about it, so 'm sorry for pointin' fingers at you. Did we bring anything we can snack on that doesn't require cooking?" You rummage around in the cooler and find a box of cheese, some cold cuts, a loaf of french bread, and a couple bottles of wine.
"Hows some cheese, bread, and meat sound? We can make little sandwiches," you tell him, pulling out the food. "Maybe some wine?"
Harry chuckles, walking over to you. "Y/N, it's not even 10 am."
"We're on vacation, aren't we?"
He shrugs, walking over to you to grab the bottle of wine. You grab plates, napkins, and a sheet you bought to double as a tablecloth, laying it out atop the picnic table. "'M actually starving," he calls to you from beside the car, reaching to grab two wine glasses. "Can't wait to eat this."
You cut into the loaf of french bread and cheese and add slices of salami and ham, quickly assembling mini sandwiches for you and Harry. "These look good, don't they?" you ask him, half teasing, half-serious. You hand him his sandwich, and he grins, grabbing it from you.
"Looks delicious, Y/N, thank you. Cheers," he gently taps his sandwich against yours, and you both take big bites, moaning at your first taste of food all day. "Want some wine now?" He asks, pouring you each full glasses. He slides the glass in front of you and you grab it, taking a long sip.
"S'good. Where'd you get this one from?" you question, taking another bite from your sandwich.
"Italy," he responds sheepishly, tasting it himself. "I know how to pick a bottle of wine, don't I?"
You giggle at your boyfriend's subtle bragging, continuing to eat your breakfast. You realized that there was no way you and Harry could comfortably spend the whole weekend here camping. You'd most likely have to call it quits before it got dark. However, you were still glad you'd get to spend time with your boyfriend outdoors, eating "emergency sandwiches" and sipping on a 500 dollar bottle of wine.
⋆⋆⋆
"Never have I ever had a one night stand," you say loudly, giggling in the process. You and Harry were both absolutely plastered, having already finished one bottle of wine and working on the second. You've decided to play a good old fashioned game of Never Have I Ever, and it was getting more raunchy the drunker the two of you became. Harry narrows his eyes at you and takes a swig out of the bottle of wine, shaking his head.
"You already know 've had one because I've told yeh about it before, yeh lil' cheater," he exclaims, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Here's one. Never have I ever shagged in the backseat of a car." You choke on your wine, widening your eyes at him.
"You actually think I've done that? How kinky do you think I am?" you smack him on his arm, laughing at his ridiculous statement. Harry doesn't say anything, running his finger along the rim of his wine glass.
"Here's a more specific one," he leans closer to you, and you can smell the wine on his warm breath. "Never have I ever shagged in the back of my car, in the middle of the woods, while on a camping trip with my girlfriend." His hand goes to rest on your thigh, and you swallow thickly.
"Thought you wanted to go see that waterfall?" you ask him, your words jumbling together slightly. Harry turns to face you, so his legs are on either side of the bench, and he pulls you closer to him by your waist.
"Don't care much for the waterfall when 've got a beautiful woman sat in front of me," he blurts, sucking on the underside of your jaw.
"What d'you want then?" you challenge, tilting your head slightly, so Harry is better positioned to place kisses to your jaw.
"Want you," he responds simply, grabbing your hand and placing it over his growing bulge. "Y'know how wine gets me goin', love." You hum in agreement, palming him through his trousers.
"I know," you respond breathlessly, pulling away from him to down the rest of your wine. "Why don't we go to the car then?" Harry gives you a surprised look, a dopey smile on his face.
"So we're really doin' this then?" He asks, standing up from the picnic table and holding his hand out for you to grab.
"No one's around, why not?" You knew that your sexual boldness came from all the wine you'd consumed, but at that moment, you didn't think there was anything you wanted more in the world than your boyfriend's cock down your throat. "Need to taste you." Harry groans, leading you hastily toward the car. You both stumble to get there in your intoxicated stupor but make it in one piece, giggling and clinging onto one another.
"After you, m' lady," he opens the backseat and curtsies, causing you to both erupt into a fit of giggles. You clamber into the backseat, scooting all the way to the other side so Harry could climb in after you. He shuts the door, and you sit in silence for a minute, catching your breaths. "Tight squeeze back here, yeah?"
"Yeah," you readjust your body, so your back is against the door, and your legs are over Harry's lap. "How are we gonna do this?"
Harry's quirks an eyebrow at you, undoing the button on his pants. "Yeh really wanna just straight into it, don't yeh, minx?" You nod, readjusting your position, so you're now on your knees, having to crane your neck slightly, so you're not hitting the car's roof.
"Let me taste you," you offer, seeing his hard cock straining to get out the confines of his tight clothing. He wordlessly nods and lifts his hips, tugging his pants down to his mid-thigh. He's not as hard as he can get, maybe due to the amount of wine he's consumed, but you know he's nearly there. You reach over to grab him, hands shaking slightly. "Can't believe we're doing this in the middle of the woods. Makes it even hotter, though."
Harry's head falls against the back seat's headrest as you flick your tongue out to capture the drop of pre-cum that was beginning to run down the side of his head. "Take me in y' mouth, Y/N. What are yeh waiting for?"
You place your hands on his thighs and lower your mouth onto his cock, taking him almost entirely in your warm mouth. Harry lets out a loud groan, not even bothering to quiet his sounds of pleasure since he knew no one was anywhere nearby. You come back up for air and lick your lips, giving him a sultry look. "You mean like that?" Harry grips the back of your head and roughly pushes you back down onto him, not in the mood for your teasing.
"Don't be cheeky now, lovie," he warns, bucking his hips up roughly to fuck your mouth. "Yeh want me to help you cum later, don't yeh?" You moan around his cock, not wanting to answer him, so you don't break the rhythm you were going at. As your sex life with Harry grew more adventurous throughout your relationship, you've only gotten better at deepthroating him, able to get him close to his orgasm in minutes. You always joked between the two of you that giving him head was one of your greatest talents, and of course, he never disagreed with that sentiment. You come up from his cock to take another breath, inhaling deeply through your nostrils. Harry immediately pushes you back down onto him without saying anything. He begins thrusting into you with even more vigor than before, and you know he's almost there. "Y/N, 'm gonna cum—"
You pull off Harry's mouth with a loud plop!, lifting up your dress and shoving your underwear to the side. "Can I ride you?" you ask sweetly, already situating yourself over him. Your boyfriend nods, completely flustered from being pushed so close to his orgasm, and then denied the opportunity to cum.
"S'course," he answers with a shaky breath. "C'mere." He grabs your waist and guides you onto his length, helping you sink down slowly. You rest your head on his shoulder, feeling him deep within you. Every ridge, every pulse, the warmth— it makes you feel completely feral. "That's a good girl, Y/N. Takin' my cock like it's nothing, aren't yeh? This is easy for you, hmm?"
You nod against his shoulder, starting to bounce around slowly on him. "So easy, H. Fit inside me so well," you moan, squeezing your eyes shut. "Feels fuckin' incredible, stretchin' me out like this." Harry squeezes onto your sides, leaving bruises in the shapes of his fingers. Harry places a kiss against his lips, slipping his tongue into your mouth.
"You like tha', Y/N? Such a dirty girl, lettin' me fuck ya in the back of my car like this. Kinky lil' thing, you are, pet," he mutters, thrusting his hips up as you slam yourself down to meet him. You nod, moving your hips in a gyrating motion.
"Love it, H. Fuckin' into me so well, fuck," you let out a particularly loud cry when Harry repositions you slightly, hitting your g-spot int he new position he has you in. "Don't stop please, keep going." You urge your boyfriend, throwing your head back. It's incredibly hot in the car, and you realize that maybe you should've cracked open a few windows before starting, but there was no way you're going to stop now to tell him that, not when you were this close.
"Y/N, I'm gonna cum," he cries out, his breathing becoming labored. "Let me have yeh in another position, please, 'm so fuckin' close."
"There's no room," you choke out, squeezing down on him. Harry moans loudly, muttering a quiet "shit" under his breath. He lifts you off of him and lays you down across the backseat, bending your knees up to your chest while he situates himself in between your legs. It's cramped and uncomfortable and hot, but you're so close, just a few thrusts away from reaching your high.
"Put your legs over my shoulders," he demands, resting on hand on the car's headrest while the other grips your breast. You nod and place your legs on either side of his shoulders, now being able to feel him in a completely different way. He re-enters you, so much deeper than before, and you swear you see stars. "Fuckin' hell, Y/N. Love your tight pussy, babe. All fo' me, yeah?"
"All for you, baby," you cry, gripping onto his broad shoulders. "'M gonna cum now, let me cum." You're a begging, writhing mess beneath him, squeezing down on his cock.
"Do tha' again," he asks, his rhythm becoming sloppy and hurried, just wanting to get the two of you off. "I'm almost there too, babe, squeeze 'round my cock again like you just did."
You clench around Harry and he lets his head hang, squeezing onto your breast even harder. "'M cummin', Y/N," he announces immediately before releasing inside you, his warm load coating your spongy walls. Your bite your lip and squeeze around him again, the coil in your abdomen becoming tighter as you quickly approach your peak shortly after he reaches his. You know Harry is exhausted, but he doesn't stop, never wanting to leave you hanging. He reaches in between your bodies and rubs quick circles on your clit with the hand that's gripping the headrest and flicks your nipples with the other hand. "Come on, love. Can feel how close you are, I know you're nearly there."
Harry spanks your clit while increasing his speed, and your eyes roll into the back of your head, your vision going hazy. You feel like you're underwater— his voice sounds muffled and a little far away, and that's how you know the orgasm was good. Your eyes are still shut, and you feel him slowly pull out, trying not to get his seed all over the backseat of his car. After coming down from your high, you open your eyes, a blissed-out smile on your face. "That was incredible." You let out a quiet chuckle, wiping the beads of sweat from your forehead. "Can you open the door? I can hardly breathe in here."
Harry laughs and slowly sits up, opening the door and inhaling the cold morning air. The car's windows were completely fogged up, and you're happy no one was walking by because if they did, they'd definitely know what the two of you had gotten into. "Guess you can't say you've never fucked in the backseat of a car before anymore."

better to leave it unsaid
had a silly little convo in the gc about geralt being strong enough to bust through walls and thus this extremely silly little idea was born :> the title is from talk too much by coin!!
anyway this fic is jaskalt and it’s 1.2k long!!
now also on ao3!
Tumblr media
The inn that Geralt and Jaskier were staying in tonight was one that Geralt would not have been able to stay in before Jaskier had come into his life. When Geralt walked through the door the innkeeper sneered at him and opened his mouth almost instantly, likely to tell Geralt to get lost. But Jaskier shoved in front, gave the man a thousand watt smile, and promised a performance both tonight and in the morning while he slid over the fee for two rooms plus a tip. Usually, Geralt wouldn’t’ve spent so much coin just to stay at an inn, but it was Jaskier’s gold and if Jaskier wanted to stay at an unpleasant inn and his own separate room, then Geralt wouldn’t stop him.
Two separate rooms meant that for once Geralt wouldn’t have to withstand Jaskier’s annoying music and incessant chatter, or hear him whine about not being able to take a partner to bed with him. Nor would Geralt have to deal with Jaskier cuddling up to him or getting up to use the restroom three times a night. It would be relaxing, Geralt sternly told himself, to go back to the way things were before he’d been kidnapped by elves in Posada. The quiet was liberating, not oppressive.
If he focused, Geralt could hear Jaskier puttering around in the room next door. The witcher shook his head and focused on his sword in his lap. He’d just oiled up a rag and he was going to clean his sword, not listen to Jaskier when he finally found some peace and quiet. Jaskier was humming next door. Geralt shook out his head again.
He had to clean both his swords and his armour tonight. It’d been a few weeks since he had and Jaskier’s griping about him being dirty and smelling unclean was getting on Geralt’s nerves. He was a witcher. What did Jaskier expect.
Nonetheless, here Geralt was, rag in hand.
There’s a clatter from Jaskier’s room. Geralt sighs, nearly groaning out loud. Even in a different room, Jaskier keeps distracting him.
“Geralt!” Jaskier screams. His voice is loud and horrified, and it shocks Geralt through to his core. Jaskier rarely screams like that- he whines, yes, and yells occasionally, but he does not often sound as if he fears for his life like he just did.
Geralt’s on his feet immediately, dropping the wet rag on the ground and gripping his steel sword tight in his hand. He takes a step for the door and then hesitates. Jaskier is the next room over, and every second can count in a deadly situation. He has to be quick enough to save him, He can’t be too late to save Jaskier from whatever’s threatening him. Geralt steels himself, locks his shoulder, and rams through the thin wall between him and Jaskier’s room.
The thin wood and paint splinters and falls off in chunks around him, the wall breaking from his shoulder to his knee until he can duck his head and pull up his leg to force himself through the gap. Geralt throws his sword up the moment he’s through, prepares his stance like he was taught and takes in the room-
And the room is empty aside from Jaskier, standing up on his bed, pressed against the wall and whining uncomfortably.
“Oh, Geralt, thank the gods, there’s a spider!” Jaskier flings out his arm and points towards the window in his room. When Geralt focuses very intently he can see a tiny creature crawling across the windowpane.
“Jaskier,” Geralt growls, feeling at his wits end, “Did you scream my name because you saw a bug?”
“A spider,” Jaskier corrects, then frowns at Geralt. His gaze flicks behind him and then back to Geralt. “Did you break through the wall?”
“You screamed my name,” Geralt hisses, and flicks a chunk of wood off his shoulder. He feels ridiculous holding his sword. “Grab your bag. We have to go.” There’s a commotion starting downstairs, from what Geralt can hear. Everyone heard the ruckus that they’ve both made. Geralt grits his teeth as he hears pounding footsteps make their way up the stairs. He recognizes the agitated innkeeper’s voice.
“Yes, we do,” Jaskier huffs, crossing his arms and not stepping down from the bed. “Unless you deign to kill that spider over there, I am trapped.”
“No,” Geralt rolls his eyes, trying very hard to keep his voice down as the innkeeper gets closer. “The innkeeper is coming up the stairs. He wants to know what the racket was.”
“Oh. Oh,” Jaskier realizes, eyes wide as he stares in the hole in the wall behind Geralt. “Well it’s not my fault that your gut reaction to me yelling was bursting through a wall!”
“You screamed my name!” Geralt yells, and then the innkeeper forces the door open and stares at them.
-
“Well, I think you both overreacted,” Jaskier says, pulling his knees closer to his chest, huddling closer to the fire that Geralt, and Geralt alone, made.
They’re out in the woods now, maybe a mile out of town. Geralt would’ve preferred not to have been run out of town, and to have had time to hunt them something for dinner, but that option was taken, rather viciously, from his hands. So here they are.
“Shut up, Jaskier,” Geralt grits out through his teeth. Jaskier, by nature, is loud whether he’s talking or not. His teeth are chattering right now, and he’s tapping a nail against a button of his doublet. He tries his best to block Jaskier out, and focus on cleaning his sword. Again.
Jaskier is quiet for all of a second. Geralt can see Jaskier look at him from the corner of his eye. He doesn’t look back. “Were you really that worried about me?”
Geralt clenches his jaw.
“Or maybe you jus like being a knight in shining armour,” Jaskier teases, a smile stretching his lips as he nudges Geralt with a hand. His fingers shake in the cold.
“I’m not a knight,” Geralt spits, “And I don’t save anyone. Now shut up and go to sleep. We’ll have to ride all day tomorrow.”
“You save me all the time,” Jaskier says. Geralt can’t help looking up at him. His expression is warm and inviting, his blue eyes soft around the edges. Geralt nearly forgets that he’s supposed to be violently opposing everything Jaskier says. He furrows his brow.
“I… you’re the one always getting yourself in danger. Not my fault I…”
“Prefer me alive?” Jaskier’s got that stupid grin he does on his face.
Geralt huffs and turns to watch the fire. He does, he admits to himself. He does prefer Jaskier by his side, however noisy the bard is.
“Maybe…” Jaskier sounds hesitant in a way Geralt isn’t used to hearing from him. “Maybe from now on we share a room. Save a lot of trouble, that way.” Jaskier isn’t looking at him anymore, either. He’s looking at his hands, fiddling with edges of his pants.
The idea settles somewhere warm in Geralt’s chest, safe and kept. It would save a lot of trouble, in the future. It’d be a lot easier to fend off tiny man-eating spiders with Jaskier at his side, and the chill that appears sweeping the bard.
“We’ll share a bedroll tonight,” Geralt says. He hears Jaskier’s breath hitch and tries his best to ignore what that might mean. “It’s cold.”

You stared at your blank computer screen, hope of finishing your assignment before its due date at midnight slowly vanishing.
The clock on your desk read 11:27pm, the green lines wavering in your vision as your eyes slowly drooped, trying to drag you into the depths of slumber. You wanted to sleep, you really did, but you knew there was no way you could give up writing your essay, even now, knowing you weren’t going to submit it on time, because you would stress too much about it if you didn’t at least try to complete it before the due date.
Pushing yourself away from your desk, your chair squeaking against the floor ever so slightly in your dead silent dorm room, you tried to think of some excuse that your professor might believe. You doubted there was anything you could think of, but hey, your professor was better than what your roommates’ had mentioned theirs being, and you were grateful for that. Maybe you could tell him that you were exhausted from working extra hours at your job since you had had to cover your coworker’s shift and that’s why you couldn’t complete your essay on time? Or, maybe you could get away with a simple “I was lacking interest in the material, and couldn’t understand anything, and I didn’t ask for help because I knew that you are such a busy man trying to do so many things at once. Another hopeless near college drop-out wasn’t something I thought you needed on your hands.”
     ....Maybe not the latter.
You sighed, running a hand through your tangled hair, practically feeling it screaming at you to wash it. You barely had time in the mornings to take showers anymore, and when you took them at night, you never had the strength to wash your hair, always knowing that putting a hat on overtop or throwing on your hoodie would make it seem fine on the outside, and that was good enough for you. As long as you looked at least decent and somewhat presentable.
Your dorm room was fairly small, like every other one, but the lack of furniture made it seem larger than the rest. Nothing more than you and your roommate’s joint desk, the mini fridge in the corner, and the beds filled the space. You almost tripped over your backpack lying next to the bunk bed pushed up against the wall, falling to what would’ve been inches away from your roommate’s sleeping body.
In an attempt not to disturb them, you tiptoed through the room, stepping over the occasional heap of clothes or homework, until you reached the bathroom. You fumbled over the door knob before almost tumbling into the small space. Glancing in the mirror, you didn’t fail to notice your messy hair, the dark circles tracing beneath your eyes, or the way you looked like you were seconds away from passing out. The sound of running water rang in your ears as you turned on the sink faucet, cupping your hands together and bringing your face down to meet them, rubbing the cold water all over you in an attempt to keep you awake for just a few moments longer.
Your eyes returned back to the mirror as you sighed at your dripping wet face. There was no way possible you were going to finish your assignment on time. You knew it, your roommate knew it before they passed out, and you had noticed your professor’s wary glance this morning in class as a sign that he knew it too.
An idea sprang into your head, part of you dreading the optimism that seemed to seep through your brain slowly. You didn’t feel like being energetic right now.
---an hour later---
You weren’t exactly sure how, when, or why you decided it would be a good idea to take a shower (you did end up washing your hair, thank god), get your things together in your bag, and head to the off-campus coffee shop (since the one on-campus had already closed), but you found yourself with a warm cup of coffee in hand as you exited the shop, the cold midnight air enveloping you in an unwelcome embrace.
You shivered. The only thing your spontaneous brain had forgotten had to have been your jacket, the one thing your normal brain would’ve remembered if it weren’t already past midnight and if you weren’t majorly sleep-deprived.
You most certainly weren’t done with your essay yet, nor was there any possible way for you to finish it on time since it was now approximately thirteen minutes past the due time, but you let yourself breathe for now.
There weren’t many people out at this hour, and it made the usual busy city streets seemed like a ghost town. There were a few restaurants still open as you strolled along the sidewalk, their lights responsible for illuminating more than half the area in front of you. You passed by an onigiri shop your friend had recommended to you, but you just weren’t that hungry. Most nights, you’d kill for a midnight snack, but your single shot of espresso coffee was satisfying your needs for now.
You decided to head to the park after seeing a rabbit hop its way across the vacant street and into the bushes in that direction. The fresh air was nice and cool against your dry and croaky lungs, and your ears needed a different sound than that of you miserably attempting to touch type quickly, your fingers rapping against the keyboard with vigor.
A stream nearby flowed softly, the dripping of the water against the rocks complimenting the noise of the crickets chirping in sync just downstream. Your footsteps cut through the grass slowly, not bothering to follow the stone path. The park was a nice change of scenery. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d been here by yourself in peace, it was always you and your rambunctious friends who ran through every now and then just to see the dogs running through the sprinklers, or the occasional poor cat whose owner dragged them out into the daylight for exercise. This was peaceful, though, and you appreciated that.
A few more rabbits crossed your path, giving you that wide-eyed, side glance before darting off into the darkness, outside the reach of the lampposts emitting light. The sound of the stream soon faded out as you continued to walk through the park, sipping your coffee every so often. The warmth from your cup was soon dying out, and you figured you’d have to start walking back to your university sooner or later. Maybe you could crash at your friend’s house who lived just off campus, though you had forgotten your phone back at your dorm and had no alarm, no laptop to complete your work, and no contact with anyone else who might worry where you’d be. You had really no choice but to trek back to your dorm in the darkness, cutting your peaceful visit to the park short.
You let yourself have a few more minutes of stress free relaxing as you sat down on a bench just before the ground let out into a downhill slope overlooking the rest of the city below. The trees around you swayed in the breeze, and for a moment, you thought it was the wind talking, and not an actual human being who had somehow made his way beside you without gathering your attention.
“Didn’t think anyone else would be up at this hour,” the stranger mumbled. You glanced up, almost startled that, indeed, someone else was actually awake and strolling through the park.
The boy couldn’t have been much older than you were, maybe the same age. He had his hands stuffed in his jacket pockets, the wind tousled his dark hair ever so slightly, and the moonlight played along, illuminating his face just so you could actually see how gorgeous he was.
You cleared your throat, averting your eyes back to the ground as you shifted over, creating more space on the bench in case he wanted to sit down beside you. “I decided to actually take care of myself for once and give myself some time to breathe before facing the wrath of my professor tomorrow when he finds out I didn’t turn in my essay on time.” You let out a low, breathy chuckle, not exactly sure of what would happen next.
The guy sat down on the bench next to you, though he made sure to give you some personal space, which you were grateful for. He laughed along with you a bit, and you could tell just from his tone just how tired he really was.
You gave him a side glance, raising an eyebrow. “So, what the stressful thing that brought you here in the middle of the night?”
He smiled half-heartedly, eyes trained on the moon. “Work stuff. Jus’ been busy, I guess.” He shrugged.
You waited for him to continue on, but he stayed silent. You didn’t complain, though. Wasn’t your whole reason for coming out here in the dead of the night for some quiet? Plus, it wasn’t awkward either. You were comfortable sitting next to this stranger.
“What do you do for work?” You waited a little longer than necessary to ask, but he didn’t seem to mind the long pause.
“I own a restaurant a few blocks away. I love the job, it’s just tiring havin’ to deal with rude customers like my brother who won’t get the hint and get out sometimes. I got into an argument with him earlier today and he just wouldn’t shut it.” He rolled his eyes and took his hands out of his pockets, making eye contact with you as he went on about his day, and you couldn’t help but smile at his passion. “The guy thinks he can just walk in when I’m working with a new employee and just act like he runs the place! Quite stupid if you ask me. Such a jerk, he is. Thinkin’ about just banning him from the place, really.”
You snorted. “He really bugs you that much, huh?”
The guy smirked at your laugh, admiring it, though you would never had guess that was what flashed across his face in a million years. He nodded. “Yeah, ‘course I love ‘im ‘cause he’s my twin and my best friend, but he really knows how to annoy the hell outta me.” He shrugged. “Maybe I’ll just get a sign in the window that says “no shirt, no shoes, no service” and cross it out and write my brother’s name instead,” he reasoned, and the pondering look in his eyes made you wonder if he was actually considering the idea.
     You smiled. “You’re funny.”
“You say that like ya weren’t expectin’ it.”
A laugh made its way out your lips. “Well, when you’re approached by a stranger in the middle of the night you sort of expect the worst.”
The guy glanced off in the distance, away from you, furrowing his eyebrows. “Sorry, didn’t think of that comin’ off that way.” He shrugged a shoulder. “Guess it’s a good thing I’m funny then, and not some creep, eh?”
You nodded, the smile on your face not fading as he changed topics.
“So, what’s your essay on? Any way I can help ya finish it?”
You shook your head dismissively. “Oh, no. It was due thirty minutes ago.” You quickly explained the topic you were writing about in class before getting side tracked. “My professor had said he would allow it to be turned in the next morning, but I doubt he actually meant it.”
He smiled a wide grin, making butterflies flutter in your stomach. “You go to the university nearby, right?”
You nodded in confirmation, raising an eyebrow. “If I’ve got any luck, there’s a chance you go there too?”
He laughed a little, shaking his head. “Nah, I don’t, sorry. I’ve visited campus a few times because some of my friends go there, but I just usually focus on work.”
His gaze was tilted upwards towards the sky, and you couldn’t help but admire how the exhaustion still shone in his eyes, but somehow that same passion gleamed there too just mentioning what he did for a living. You wished you were that passionate about something that would actually support you financially in the future and make you happy.
When he glanced back at you, you were still taking his essence in, and he made a look of confusion. “What?”
You shook your head, chuckling. “Nothing. I just admire that you can dedicate yourself to something and make it seem so easy.” He looked at you, interested to hear what you had to say, even though you were sure you couldn’t be the first person to tell him this. “I haven’t even known you for more than ten minutes and I can already tell you’re passionate about what you do and if you’re stressed about it, it must mean you’re dedicated to seeing your work through, and that’s more than enough to admire and appreciate, especially when that can be so difficult sometimes.” You finished your short tangent, looking back up at him to see him staring intently at you, seemingly in awe of what you’d just said. You felt a blush creep onto your face as you quickly blurted out, “Sorry- I didn’t mean to be so straightforward and weird like that- I sound like some crazy secret admirer or something...”
The crickets chirped in the silence between the two of you, and it felt like it would never end.
“Y’know, I wouldn’t mind havin’ a secret admirer. I mean, wouldn’t be so secret, but...” You saw the smile creep up onto his face. “It’s nice being appreciated. Nobody really tells me that kind o’ stuff, so... thanks, I guess.”
The heat on your cheeks didn’t go away by any means, but you grew more comfortable with it as you mumbled, “Maybe I wouldn’t mind admiring you.”
Now, it was the boy’s turn to blush, and you smiled at how his cheeks grew redder with every passing second, and how his subtle grin spoke a thousand words he didn’t need to say.
“Miya Osamu.” The boy’s hand came into your view as he extended it for you to shake. “I own Onigiri Miya across from the grocery outlet.”
You smirked, grasping his hand in yours as you said, “L/N Y/N. I own an official license for being a horrible driver and an ID that proves I’m a sleep-deprived college student and that’s about it.”
He laughed, shaking your hand and standing up, letting go too soon for your liking.
Because for some weird reason, his hand felt right in yours.
Osamu said a quick goodbye, mentioning something about how he should get going and how you should get some sleep before he disappeared down the stone path back into the darkness.
You stood up not too long after he’d left, your coffee now entirely cold as you plopped the half full cup into the trash can on your walk back to your dorm, not needing the pathetic warmth anymore. Your heart was beating fast and the feeling of Osamu’s hand resting in yours lingered on your palm, and that kept you warm enough.
Maybe you’d be visiting that onigiri place your friend recommended to you a little sooner than you’d originally planned, and maybe more often than you would’ve expected.
