Why you don't like the ship of harwin and rhaenyra? He is the only man in her lifes who treat her kindly and show actual love. All the other, like viserys criston daemon ecc, treat her like shit

Hello, anon. I agree with you about every single man in her life treating Rhaenyra horribly but Harwin is no different.

He's her sworn shield after Criston is called by Alicent's side, her supposed "champion". But the show gave us so little about him that I literally cannot, for the life of me, grasp the love this man gets. All we get of him is that he's basically a glorified boytoy, what Criston would've been had he put Rhaenyra before his honour.

From the books, we know that several sisters of his are Rhae's ladies-in-waiting, his father is the Hand when Otto leaves for a brief period of time and he's generally at court for long before Rhaenyra marries. This makes Harwin the man who watched her grow up, GROW UP. She was a KID when he started buzzing around her or her court.

The first time they interact in the show, it's when Harwin gives her that (nothing short of disgusting other than impressed imo) when she's back to the camp with a boar during Aegon's name day, the second is a year later when he tackles her in the streets, mistaking her for a boy when she's out with Daemon. He lets her go when he spots him. Timeskip happens, we learn that they're lovers and they have three kids together.

Where's the buildup?????? Where's the reason for me to love them as a couple or him as Rhae's partner???? Must we assume he started getting the hots for her when he saw her drenched in blood in that camp? SHE WAS F*CKING 16!

Also, let's not pretend he did anything to help besides warming her bed and making her a mother of 3 before she hit 25. He knew there were rumors, he was pretty much aware of what people thought and what he, Rhae and their kids were risking. Guess what he did about it? Absolutely f*cking nothing.

He didn't marry, he didn't go back to Harrenhall, he acted defensive when his father brought the question up.

Viserys and Alicent sending him away was what it took for him to finally back away from this girl. After, obviously, screwing everything up astronomically. You can go after Criston's bitterness all you want, you can call him jealous (honestly I don't think he is, but that's for another post). But his reaction in the fields is nothing short of ridiculous imo.

What did Criston say? That he was protecting Luke like a father would rather than a trainer. A provocation, a comment that should've flew right in and out of Harwin's ears, if he was as honourable as the fandom makes him out to be. He could've said that it doesn't take being the child's father to notice how callously he's treating him. It could've turned into a meme-worth scene of two men absolutely hating each other's guts but seething right from their asses about not being able to just leap and tear at each other for all they're worth.

What would be wrong? Being called his son's father, great heavens. He could've just went "oh shit" and could've walked away after making sure baby Luke was okay, but what did he did? He handed Criston's ass to him, which was exactly what he wanted.

This man viewed that comment as disrespect to his honor, a stain in his pride. Because being pointed out as a rumored ( not really rumored to him, he knows he is, which just makes it worse) bastard's father is DISGRACEFUL to him. He knows EXACTLY what Rhaenyra, the heir, risks, and does nothing but worsen her position further. If he cared about those kids, or if he was just deluding himself into playing happy family with her, I can't say.

I don't think he hates them, mind you. I'm not here to dehumanize him. They're his own flesh and blood, he loves them, he wishes to love them and be in his life like a father should. I think it's (rightfully) a pain in the ass watching another man raise your children. He could've done it to protect Luke, but it's not his job to remind Criston that insinuating that Rhaenyra has sired bastards is treason. That outburst was unnecessary, at least to me. It did nothing but worsen everything. Knowing Alicent, and how she made Criston apologize for calling Rhae a c*nt with a simple glare, SHE'D scold that rascal good the moment she hears of it.

Harwin would hold back, at the very least, if he actually lived up to TB's standards. For Rhae, Jace, Luke and Joff's sake. I'm not going to act like Rhae is innocent but fuck anyone who thinks she's the only one at fault. She was barely an adult when they started interacting.

Spiderspring! The area im in has no skyscrapers with like only 2 big swingable areas so I thought about jumping spiders and how some spiders will "ride the wind" to get around. Thats exactly what spring does. Her legs are like super powerful lol

The villains

Doc ock, in this earth Otto doesnt earn the name doc ock till much later. He tried to make it big in nyc but embarassed himself so bad he ended up in the midwest. Hes trying to regain his pride and show the world who he really is. He stays within a junk yard finding the easy access to parts to be a god send, he has been caught stealing from the small art center though. Given hes still young hi whole "villain career" is starting out pretty rocky. It also doesnt help hes usually stopped by an equally clumsy hero. He wont admit it but it is nice to have someone who sorta gets his struggles. Spring is the most lenient with him given he can usually just be talked to and not fought. In the future these two head off to NYC to be with the big heros and villains, still keeping in touch.

Vulture, in this universe Turkey Vulture. "midwestern dad that stands on the porch during a tornado warning" pretty much his entire vibe. Vulture is a scientist enamoured with wind and its dangerous power, tornados are a big interest for him. During an experiment involving the local turkey vultures, the lab went wrong fusing the man with the bird. He gained wings, talons, and a stronger hunger to harness the power of the wind. Currently married to a bird watcher named Constance he has tamed down the more outlandish experiments. Not 100% though, he'll still rob a bank for money. Spring loves to tease the man and "threaten" to call his wife when hes getting in trouble.

Lizard (no ref but featured in springs ref) a small lizard man who find love in the fancy. Constantly stealing. More annoying than threatening. Spring notes lizard to be the most active villain

Giant Corn (mentioned, small doodle) legit exactly how it sounds. Its a giant mutant corn monster who usually attacks the drive in. Weirdly the most destructive villain. When it gets angry it can pop like popcorn

Overall its a young spiderspring getting her footing with a group of odd villains to help her practice.

The High Cloud Quintet lore is just the meme of me going: WANNA SEE HOW MUCH I CAN CRY? before i proceed to sob my entire soul out at this point i love these people so unnaturally much that the fallout is just a big slap over and over again.

The cutscene with Jingliu and Luocha very much insinuates that we're going to return to the Xianzhou in the future, which I do hope we get more explantion this time around because how the storytellers handled Xianzhou was very much an up and down rollercoaster with an anticlimatic ending. (i just like jing yuan so i can hype myself enough by seeing his 3D model on screen, but otherwise the ending left much more to be desired).

As for the actual cutscene - Jingliu here ready to actually go for the Aeon herself and not the abominations who worship them. I don't know how much of her sanity is left within her since I have to put on my actual reading comprehension glasses on to piece stuff together from my own notes HAHAHA All I can say is that Luocha actually hating Yaoshi with a passion was a bit unexpected, but I'm very much up for this expy of Otto to kill an Aeon whose whole goal is to give life to people wanting it.

Jing Yuan left behind to fix whatever the hell happened. He may have not suffered as much as the other 4, BUT BOY DOES HE HAVE TO KEEP REMEMBERING THEM TO PROTECT THE XIANZHOU LMFAO

Least favorite thing: I regret to inform non comic-readers that he's not as big a deal in the classic comicsverse as you'd think. In many appearances he borders on joke villain status. ONLY character where I have been less consistently impressed by the source material than the adaptations.

Favorite thing: The aesthetics. Few characters have gimmicks more perfectly tailored to My interests. He has the fragile superiority complex of cyborgism. The rationalist apocalypse prepper religion of the dying atomic age. The transhumanist solipsism. I understand him perfectly (derogatory).

Fanon pet peeve: weirdly blasé takes on the Superior arc; octogoblin that doesn't include a serious amount of mutually trying to explode each other with bombs

Least favorite thing: This prompt sat blank for an hour without my being able to think of anything.

Favorite thing: as much as it's played for the comedy of babying a guy who can throw cars... she loves Peter so much... he's always her little boy, even in the timelines where she does find out his secret. Not that many tight-knit loving family relationships in spideydom but May Parker is holding on strong.

Fanon pet peeve: those who try to replace Aunt May's position as the most important adult in Peter's life with ANY other character (especially a superpowered one!) do not pass go do not collect $200.

New rounds of the main poll on Mondays; there may be other irregular or regular bonus polls at the admin's leisure.

More or less following the same model as Best Habsburg Monarch mentioned above, i.e. one-on-one duels organized into brackets. Round 1 has 32 contestants, Round 2 has 16, Round 3 has 8, Semifinals of course 4 and lastly there's Finals, where we crown the Ultimate King Of Hungary.

We are using Hungarian names (even with the idiotic Hungarian system of putting regnal numbers before the names, natch), but in some cases you will see their Slovak names in brackets. Because fuck it, we ARE reclaiming these bitches.

Contestants are more or less taken from the Wikipedia list, with some caveats. Václav III. doesn't count. If anyone feels sorry for him, they are kindly invited to create a kings of Bohemia bracket. (Seriously if someone wants to complete the Visegrád triplet, please do, and then tell us all about it!) Neither does Otto of Bavaria, because I don't know shit about him (I mean his short disputed reign doesn't exactly help his case, but you could argue we are letting in shorter and more spurious reigns, so that's not completely fair). II.Lászo and IV.István are labeled as antikings by Wikipedia, and if we kick them out, we get 32 contestants, which is a very convenient number for a bracket, so there you go.

Alonza's worst future is her being ridiculed in front of everyone she loves, and everyone she loves not actually taking her seriously with what she wants to do (she wants to start a fashion trend within her city, and mainly be looked up to for that)

Alonza right now is NOT being treated well or seriously by Otto and it's probably the future she's heading towards right now

Otto's worst future is one he's also probably heading down, he's really uptight and stressed about how to succeed, which Is probably sending him down a very bad path if he can't just chill out

Basically he's a control freak and pretty soon he might loose all control

alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

Alonza is kind of lonely like the type of person to be extroverted and happy with many people, but under alot of stress to conform to other's expectations

So she would probably try to befriend someone new off the street and maybe probably annoy them lol (maybe she's trying to do that with Lali?)

All alone she would sigh a big sigh and immediately pass out from exhaustion

Otto is the type of guy to feel lonely in a room full of 100 people, he's kind of a loner so if he was alone in a room he would sigh in relief, but also be like FUUUCCK I wanna go back into that 100 people room

So like this guy can't choose which room he'd like to be in, maybe in the doorway

She can see that specific toll on Alicent. Theoretically, yes, Queen Alicent is still young, about 40 if Elayna’s memory serves her correctly. Yet she seems much older. Not necessarily in her looks, although her forehead has more worries lines and she has few laugh lines, but in the way she carries herself. Queen Alicent looks as if she has both the weight of the world on her shoulders and the burden of terrible knowledge all upon her at once.

Elayna steps forward just to be safe. She misses the look on both Otto and Alicent's faces when she does so, too focused on her father to check on others.

Otto tilts his head ever so slightly, a brief look crossing his face as if he's appraising Elayna. Alicent's expression does not change as much as her father's, but a quiet approval lights up her eyes for a second.

Mmmhhhmmm one I'd love to write but idk if I'll get around to it is a vampire AU! And I'm talking old school Dracula type vampire AU with some soulmate and reincarnation stuff thrown in

In it, the major Houses are vampires and then all the houses that are under them are varying levels of servants/familiars/whatever you like to call it. The Reynes are the most trusted ones for the Lannisters, and they essentially handle all of the business that needs to be done in daylight. Elayna is initially assigned to Tymon because of how close they are in age, and like. Tymon gets real creepy real fast. He doesn't necessarily want to turn her into a full vampire, though. He more wants a familiar he can fuck if we're being honest. And Elayna is uuuuhhhh not into that

So Alon helps Elayna run away and manages to pull some strings to where Elayna is Helaena's lady-in-waiting/daylight person. What is unknown, though, is Aemond and Elayna are soul mates, which... complicates things

Also. Did I mention. Since this is also a soul mate AU. It's told from present day from reincarnated Elayna. Who is only now starting to get back her memories. And let's just say things got real messy in the past which means everything for modern Elayna gets triple messy
