New masterlist to split up the cast versus character fics that I’ve written because there’s so many oh my gosh.
✮ - personal fave
Charlie Gillespie - sfw
Rose Garden ✧ Charlie is your suitor, and if he gets his way, soon to be your betrothed. However, he won’t be if you have any say in the matter.
Down For the Count ✧ After a hard fall resulting in a bad injury, your boyfriend Charlie comes to the rescue to be your care taker at the same time as he has a Live with Owen.
Lucky Charm ✧ Meeting Charlie at the rink after hockey practice for date night leads him to take you to his favorite pizza spot, and gifts you an honor you can’t refuse.
Costume Department ✧ Your aunt is the JATP costume designer and one day whilst working on set, your talking with the girls of the cast makes you realize just how strong your feelings for Charlie are.
Tough Competition ✧ Savannah simulates a dance competition for you after learning you’ve never been in one, and your secret relationship with Charlie slowly surfaces to your cast mates.
Betrothed ✧ Evading love for so long has its consequences, but the resistance just might have paid off when you meet a certain prince who’s searching for his princess.
✮ Winners and Losers ✧ Charlie’s day off consists of spending time with his favorite girl, and making bets that he’s seemingly destined to lose.
Charlie Gillespie - nsfw
A Helping Hand ✧ Your best friend Charlie is shocked to hear you’ve been deprived of a certain sexual experience, and is more than willing to help fix that. (18+)

✮ Impressive ✧ Renowned hockey all-star Charlie Gillespie is a pleasant disaster on his own, but once he asks you to tutor him, you learn he might not be so bad after all. (18+)
Tempting ✧ Coming to an agreement on how your friends with benefits arrangement will work, Charlie invites you over for another study session that doesn’t isn’t very productive. (18+ sequel to Impressive.)

Owen Patrick Joyner - sfw
Dating Owen Joyner Would Include… ✧  Bullet points of boyfriend!Owen headcanons.
✮ Hey Princess ✧ Dating a Netflix star can be tough in the way of getting recognized in public, but being a Disney Princess just may give Owen a run for his money.
Party Hard ✧ Going from tipsy to full on drunk is a terrible idea, but especially when you’ve got a secret to hide that could mean the difference between preserving and ruining your relationship with your best friend.
Reading My Boyfriend’s Fanfiction?? ✧ Being an influencer meant this day was a long time coming: it was time to put Owen on your channel.
A Pretty Good Bad Idea ✧ Touring with the Julie and The Phantoms cast as a dancer has been the best time of your life, and the only thing that could make it better is the reciprocated affections of a cute, blond drummer.
They’re Not You ✧ You’ve been successful in avoiding and ignoring your romantic feelings for your best friend… so far.
Doomsayers ✧ Owen had to practically harass you to get you to relax on your mutual day off, but the quality time together takes an unexpected turn when you exhibit a small sense of self-doubt.
New Neighbors ✧ Whilst your two best friends are helping you move into your new place, you find out that your next door neighbor is a major cutie who is totally into you, too.
✮ Baby Fever ✧ You and Owen spend a day at the zoo babysitting Baby Shada, and her presence sparks conversation about adding a new presence of your very own.
✮ City Slicker, Cowboyfriend ✧ You’re starting to have doubts about moving all the way to Norman until a shopping trip to Ikea turns into the meet-cute you’ve been waiting for.
Mesmerizing ✧ Crashing at your best friend’s place after a shitty date for the third time causes some sexual tension to bubble to the surface.
Chocolate Cake ✧ Owen’s new place is finally mold free, and he’s invited you over to stay the night. Being petite has more disadvantages than advantages, two of which are a teasing boyfriend and large dog breeds.
Only Need Five ✧ Breaking up with your boyfriend proves difficult when he follows you to your after-breakup plans. Owen puts you at ease and performs a less than innocent song he wrote about your chemistry together. (Indirect sequel to Tell Me Your Favorite Song.)
Wrap Party ✧ Unconvinced Owen is crushing on you, you show up to the cast party ready to let loose with the girls. The night takes an unexpected turn the Owen claims to be the expert on date-nights.
✮ Lazy Day, Stupid Question ✧ You and Owen take a well-deserved lazy day nap together, before movie night in the Joyner-Gillespie household. After recalling a certain reddit post, you make a discovery about the ways of men.
Owen Patrick Joyner - nsfw
Pity Prom? ✧ After learning you’ve never attended a prom, Owen takes it upon himself to recreate the most magical dance you’ve ever had. (18+)
Tell Me Your Favorite Song ✧ Your inattentive boyfriend is falling inferior to a certain drummer from your AP Lit class, who gets to know you better inside and out. (18+)
Say No to This + Unbiased Source ✧ Being cast as Mariah Reynolds means you’ve got your work cut out for you, and to add to the pressure, Owen, your Alexander is exuding a sexual tension you’ve never seen before. Hopefully, no one notices.
✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵ - ✵
Platonic!Cast
✮ Sculpin and White Claws ✧ Your ‘not-quite girlfriend’ has come over to yours, Charlie’s, and Owen’s shared apartment; your evening is disrupted by the energetic antics of two idiot boys in the other room.
The Best-Worst Day ✧ Bad days are manageable when Charlie and Owen are the best roommates a girl could ask for.

Quarantine Lovers | Charlie Gillespie
Requested by anon: Can we have a Charlie x reader where she is his secret quarantine partner and the cast keeps guessing who it is until Maddie names a famous writer and gets it right? Thanks!
Pairing: Charlie Gillespie x Female!Reader
Warnings: fluff
A/N: I’m not sure if this is what you wanted but i kinda like it haha
Tumblr media
Charlie has always been secretive about his private life. It’s always been his one thing he promised himself. Work life and private life needs to be separate. Especially in the industry he’s in now. You and Charlie have been together for a couple of months now and nobody knows. It all started when he’d finished filming Julie and The Phantoms and came back to Dieppe from Vancouver. He went for a hike with one of his brothers when they found you sitting on a rock, clutching your ankle.
“Hey, are you okay?” his voice made you look up. You offered him a polite smile, trying not to show your pain or the fact you were thinking ‘Holy crap, attractive”. “Yeah, just threw my ankle a little bit on the rocks over there,” you pointed to a few feet behind the boys. “Was waiting for it to blow over and I could go on, but I’ve been sat here for…” you checked your watch, “About half an hour.” You chuckled at your own pathetic behavior. “I used to be really good at these hikes, you know?” Charlie then chuckled too, mostly at how endearing you were.
“Can you stand on it a little bit if we support you?” Patrick, Charlie’s brother, asked then.
“I’m not sure…” The two guys walked up to you, each taking a hand of yours to pull you up, and then wrapping one arm around your waist. You could go like that for about a kilometer until your foot began to throb again. “Can we take a break?” you squeak. Charlie and Patrick placed you onto a tree trunk very gingerly and took a seat next to you.
“Are you from around here?” Charlie then asked.
“Yeah, I live in Moncton with my best friend,” you replied with a smile, glad he’s distracting you from the pain in your ankle.
“No way! We live in Dieppe!” The excitement on his face was the most adorable thing you’d ever seen.  Your eyes and smile widen at this, not necessarily at the fact he lives kind of close, but at the excitement on his face.
“Cool! I have family in Dieppe, so I know my way around there,” you told them. Charlie and Patrick nodded their heads at this, not entirely sure what else to say to this stranger they just picked up from a rock in the middle of nowhere.
“So, what’s your name?” Charlie then asked upon reminding himself of this fact. “Y/N Y/L/N,” you replied.
“Charlie Gillespie, and this is my brother, Patrick,” he introduced himself and his brother, who gave you a little wave. The wind suddenly picked up, and you knew exactly what that meant.
“It’s going to rain soon. We better get going.” Charlie and Patrick nodded their heads agreeingly and helped you up from the trunk.
“Get on my back,” Charlie then suggested. “It’s going to go quicker than you hopping along with us.” You hesitated for a few seconds, but then decided you agreed with him. Patrick helped you jump on Charlie’s back, and the three of you continued your walk down the trail, chatting about your lives the whole way down.
You found out Charlie was an actor and had just finished filming about a month ago, and you told him you were a screenwriter. Your most recent work was on Outer Banks and Season two of Umbrella Academy. You talked about your hopes and dreams and agreed the industry you both were in was a tough one.
From that day on, the two of you have been pretty inseparable. You became really close friends and spent a lot of time together before he finally asked you out on a first date. Then came more and more dates, and then came March 2020. Quarantine. And since Charlie had been spending most of his nights at your place since your best friend was with their parents, you both decided to quarantine together.
No one knew about your relationship. Not even his friends from the cast of Julie and The Phantoms. Only his family knew, and that’s all that mattered right now. No one knew you two were spending lockdown together at your place, and you could keep it a secret for a very long time. Charlie liked it this way, though the cast had been texting and calling non-stop because they knew he wasn’t home in Dieppe.
When September 10th hit, and he could finally show you the work he’d done on Julie and The Phantoms.
“What do you think, Baby?” he asked every five minutes when you were cuddled up on the couch watching it together.
“Stop asking me that question, Char,” you giggled and pressed a kiss to his cheek. You were fine for most of the show, chuckling at the ghost jokes or pretty much anything Reggie did, bopping your head along to the catchy songs. And then Unsaid Emily hit. “Oh, no…” you whined as the music started to play and on-screen-Charlie started to sing the sad song. The Charlie next to you chuckled, endeared by your investment in the show, and wrapped his arms tighter around you whilst kissing your head multiple times. “HOW DARE THEY END THIS LIKE THAT?!” You screamed at the very end, making Charlie love you even more. Afterwards, he listened to all of your theories and your predictions for season 2.
Thus far, quarantine is going really well at the Y/L/N-Gillespie Quarantine Residence.
The couple of weeks after the release of Julie and The Phantoms, Charlie had to do a lot of zoom calls for interviews. Sometimes even multiple a day. You made sure you were never in sight during those interviews, sometimes even leaving the house for a walk, but today, you decided to stay home and work on a script for an episode of season 2 of
Outer Banks.
You were sat on the sofa with your laptop and all your notes while Charlie was doing his interview in the bedroom. You could hear him talk to his castmates and the interviewer, and you often had to pause your writing because you wanted to hear what he was talking about.
“Where have you been spending quarantine?” the interviewer asked. Most of them said home with their families, and even Charlie said ‘home’. This answer melted your heart just a tiny bit.
“That’s a lie, Charlie,” Madison said with a giggle. “Charlie has a secret quarantine partner and doesn’t want to say who!”
“I am spending time with family, exploring Dieppe. I don’t know where you get your information from, Mads.” Though Charlie was a good actor, he couldn’t hide the fact he was lying to his own friends. Even you could hear how flustered he was.
“OK, I wanted to start with a couple of the fans’ questions that they sent in,” the interviewer continued, either ignoring the banter and the big piece of gossip they could get out of this, or not having heard it. “Someone asked who you’d love to work with on a next season.”
“Actor wise, I want to do scenes with Cheyenne Jackson,” Madison replies, “I didn’t get to do any scenes with him this season, but he’s really talented and I’d love to work with him. And I also have a writer that would be really great to work with on our show and that’s Y/N Y/L/N. She worked on Outer Banks and Umbrella Academy, and I loved the episodes she wrote.” Charlie’s face at the mention of your name is priceless. His eyes widen first before his mouth curled up into a smile, though he tried to hide it from his castmates and the interviewer.
Madison and Owen glanced into the camera knowingly but decided not to say anything and continue with the interview. It’s when that interview was done, Madi, Owen and Jeremy called Charlie in a group FaceTime.
“It’s Y/N, isn’t it?!” You heard Madison scream from Charlie’s phone as he walked into the living room where you were working. He gave you a questioning look, as if asking for permission to tell them. You simply nodded encouragingly.
“Yes, okay, fine! You figured it out!” The three on the other side of the line cheered loudly, making you chuckle slightly. “You want to meet the cast, Babe?” he asked you whilst making his way over. You patted the spot next to you for him to sit down, and he obeyed, showing you the screen of his phone.
“Hey, guys!” you greeted with a wave. A chorus of ‘hi’ and ‘hey’ meets your ears. “How’d you figure it out?” You asked them, placing your laptop on the coffee table to get more comfortable. You tucked your feet underneath you, placing your elbow on the back of the couch and gliding your fingers into Charlie’s long, lockdown-hair.
“First of all, I follow you on Instagram, Y/N, and I saw the two of you tagged the same location on the same day once, and your last pictures kind of look similar. So, I had a bit of a hunch, but I wasn’t sure, and when I mentioned you in the interview, he got all flustery and happy and I just knew!” You gave the girl an impressed nod.
“We literally just hung up on the interviewer when Madi texted us ‘IT’S Y/N!!’ in all caps,” Jeremy added with a smile. Defeated, and a little embarrassed, Charlie groaned and hid his face in the crook of your neck, seeking comfort.
“We won’t tell anyone, Char. We’re just happy for you,” says Owen with a smile, “And us, because now Madi won’t be texting us non-stop with all her theories on who your quarantine partner is.” All of you chuckled a that, except for Madison, she glared at her blonde-haired friend through the screen.
“You all wanted to know!” she snarled.
All of you chatted for a couple hours until Charlie and you got hungry and decided to prepare dinner.
“It was nice to meet you, Y/N! Hopefully we’ll see each other soon IRL!” Madison said with the biggest smile on her face.
“It was nice to meet you too, guys! Ooh, by the way! I loved the show!” you complimented.
“Of course you did,” said Owen with a suggestive wiggle of his eyebrows.
“Bye guys!” you waved at them, completely ignoring Owen’s statement. Charlie hung up the phone and put his phone on the coffee table before turning to you. “Madison would be a good detective,” you pointed out with a grin. Charlie glared at you, which just made you giggle and kiss his lips. At least now you didn’t need to keep it a secret from his friends. Almost like a weight off your shoulders.

Paper Rings | OWEN JOYNER
Requested by anon: “Owen request? A series of events that leads Owen to finally working up the courage to propose to his girlfriend?” PAIRING(s): Owen Joyner x fem!reader WARNING(s): some language, mentions of abuse, panic attack, anxiety, and fluff haha WORDS: 3.7k SUMMARY: Five times Owen almost asks his girlfriend to marry him, and one time he actually does.
Tumblr media
0.
Charlie looks around, feeling out of place amongst the big mirrors, bright lights, and the sparkling diamonds. When his best friend, Owen, told him that he wanted a ‘guys night’ (he’s still unsure as to why he wants to have one: they live together, it’s guys’ night every night – he was expecting bars, or clubs, or fancy restaurants; things they don’t get to do every night, because of work. But he definitely wasn’t expecting to be dragged into a jewellery store.
“O, buddy, what are we doing here?”
Owen shushes him, walking ahead to a counter. A woman with kind eyes greets him. “Mr. Joyner!”
He smiles, familiarity pooling in his eyes.
Charlie frowns. He didn’t expect Owen to be into jewellery – sure, he buys stuff for his sister and mother, but he always takes them with him.
He thinks of Y/N, Owen’s girlfriend of about five years – there’s a possibility that he may be buying something for her, but it’s highly unlikely. Y/N has been pretty vocal about the fact that she hates diamonds, and who’s to blame her, really? Her father used to buy her mother a diamond necklace after every time he hit her or when he came home smelling of another woman’s perfume.
Charlie exclaims, “Owen! I’m gonna die if you don’t tell me what’s going on!”
“I know, I know.” He shushes him, again, and Charlie feels like a child, even though he’s older than the blonde boy. Owen turns to the woman in front of him, Miranda, as her name tag reads, and says, “I hope it’s ready.”
She nods, excitedly. “Yes! I have it right here with me.”
She disappears beneath the counter, and Charlie expects her to return with a big box, like a magician’s apprentice. But, instead, she emerges with a small, tiny box and he wonders –
As realization dawns upon him, he feels a rush of euphoria. “Oh my god, are you –”
Owen nods, his face aglow with anticipation, hope and adoration. “I – I walked into this store a couple of weeks ago, after I decided that I wanted to marry her, I mean, I’ve known it for a while, you know? I can’t see myself being with anyone but her for the rest of my life, and I want a family with her. She’s my soulmate, dude. And I – I think it’s the right time, too. She’s got that amazing job, and my career’s going great, so, yeah. I wanna marry her.”
Charlie sniffs, feeling tears at the back of his eyes. “Bro.”
  His friend grins. “Bro.”
Charlie pulls him into a hug, but Owen pushes him away, and they swat each other’s hands for a second before Owen whisper shouts, “Do you wanna see the ring or not?!”
Charlie’s eyes widen and he nods. They turn to the woman in front of them, and she points to the box placed on the counter before them. “If you’re ready.”
Owen nods, and Charlie feels amazed at the determination clouding his irises. He opens the box, and the Canadian boy gasps.
Inside sits a simple platinum ring. Except at the middle, there’s a diamond shaped like a star. It’s so beautifully built, every edge looking like they’re fit to cut steel. And the entire ring – it’s so simple, yet beautiful, and Charlie knows why he picked it.
It’s a mirror of the way Owen sees Y/N – something gorgeous, something priceless, something elegant, yet something so simple to him, and something that will always makes sense, no matter what.
1.
Owen inhales, staring at his reflection in the full body length mirror in front of him. He’s going to do it today – he is going to ask his best friend, his soulmate and the love of his life to marry him. He has planned it all – even Charlie went out with the rest of the cast tonight to give the twenty-three-year-olds some privacy. (Charlie, Y/N, and Owen live together in Vancouver, at least while shooting the fourth season of Julie and The Phantoms, so, as one can guess, it’s really difficult to get a moment alone – but since the both of them love Charlie so fucking much, they don’t really mind.)
He straightens his tie and hears soft footsteps in the hallway outside his room. Y/N’s head pokes in, her face lit up like Christmas lights.
“Don’t you look sharp!” She says, while walking up to him and wrapping her arms around his torso. Owen smiles, catching her eyes in the reflection. “Are the bad puns ever going to stop?”
She gasps, dramatically, and exclaims, “You don’t gotta be so mean about it!”
He shakes his head, and feels love swell in his chest for the woman behind him. “I love you so much, you know that, right?”
A mischievous glint appears in her eyes. “I could use a reminder.”
Owen grins, turning backwards and cups her face in his hands, about to kiss her, when a voice stops him.
“I think I just broke the coffee machine!”
Y/N’s eyes widen, and she yells, “You did what?!”
Owen’s brows furrow. “Is that –”
She casts him an apologetic glance. “Zoe, yeah. I forgot to tell you, but Cece had to go out last minute, so I offered to watch her for the evening!”
Usually, Owen loves kids, especially Y/N’s cousins like Zoe, but right now, he feels like jumping off a cliff. She seems to sense that as she runs her hands down his arms, and says, “I’m sorry! I know you said that tonight was gonna be just us, but you love Zoe, don’t you? And it’s gonna be fun, I promise!”
It’s not. Owen had booked a table at Y/N’s favorite restaurant in Vancouver, and he would have proposed midway through the dinner, when the musicians there would start to play ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift, and when they got to the bridge, he would have dropped to a knee.
Ignoring the weight in his chest, he plasters a smile on his face. “Yeah. Yeah. I’m sorry, I just – it’s been a while since we’ve been alone, you know? With work and all. But I’m sure it’s gonna be great with Zoe, too!”
She nods. “Thank you. We can go out alone next week when Charlie has that photoshoot with Madi!”
  He nods. “Absolutely.”
The little black box stays hidden in the pocket of the beige coat in his closet that he never wears.
2.
As Y/N smiles at him, Owen thinks that this is it. This is the moment he’s gonna ask her to marry him.
As the light from the fire illuminates her face, he thinks about how perfect this weekend has been. After long days, and even longer nights of filming, they finally got a weekend off, and Charlie immediately booked a cabin in North Vancouver.
And there’s no one better at planning trips than Charlie.
Along with Owen, Y/N, and Charlie; Madison, Jadah, Jeremy and his wife, Carolynn, Savannah, Sacha, and Tori are here, too, everyone basking in the peace. Throughout the weekend, they’ve done anything and everything they can do in snow – from skiing, to making snow angels, and finally, as the shades of evening rolled on the last day of their trip, they are tired.
After dinner, everyone wordlessly returned to their rooms, and Owen knows that they’re all fast asleep, right now – except Y/N, who is still as bubbly as champagne.
When they returned to their room, Y/N quickly lit the fire – because no matter if it’s snowing or if it’s fifty degrees outside – she is always freezing.
It’s the opposite in Owen’s case, though – he’s always warm, and that’s why Y/N wasted no time to settle in his lap.
Owen quickly pats his pocket to check if the ring’s still there. It is, and it’s been there for the whole weekend. He’s been searching for opportunities, but they were always either with someone, or it wasn’t a good time.
“O?” She asks, her voice soft.
“Hmm?” He replies, threading his fingers through her hair.
Her eyes brighten up, putting the fire in front of them to shame. “I’ve just had an idea.”
“Later. First, I have something to ask you.” He says, his hand reaching into his pocket again.
She smiles. “I know what you’re gonna ask.”
  Owen’s surprised. “You do?”
She nods excitedly. “Yeah. Charlie told me!”
He must have had a horrified look on his face because her eyes widen quickly. “Oh, he didn’t want to, believe me! But, now that I know, tell me, when are you gonna do it?”
Owen stammers, suddenly feeling breathless in this room. The anxiety starts to pool in his stomach, along with an anger, directed towards Charlie. “I – I – I can’t believe he told you this…”
She shrugs. “You know that he can’t hide anything from me. He’s like the brother I never asked for. Anyway, so he was showing me some of the designs, and I love you, but I don’t think you can handle a tooth piercing.”
  Owen’s brows furrow. “What?”
“Like, totally no offence, but you passed out when the dentist came to do a routine check up on your teeth. I don’t wanna imagine what would happen if you got them pierced.”
  “What are talking about?!”
“Charlie and your matching piercings, dummy! What else would I be talking about?” She looks at him as if he’s grown a third head.
Owen’s lips part. “We are not getting matching piercings – I wasn’t gonna ask you that!”
“Oh!” Her eyes widen. “What were you gonna ask, then?”
He gulps, thinking to himself – this is it. This is it. This is it.
“Do you wanna go home for New Year’s?”
He mentally curses when that question comes out of his mouth, and even with Y/N’s bright smile, he starts to feel queasy inside, knowing that he still isn’t confident enough to actually ask her.
3.
Owen wipes his sweaty palms on his jeans and stands up. “Y/N, I have to tell you something.”
She nods, her eyes sweeping across the mostly empty LA beach. He brought her here today to finally ask her to marry him – his past attempts have been nothing short of disastrous.
As he opens his mouth, he feels a pang in his heart, and his mind starts to race. All kinds of thoughts race through his mind, like – what if she says no? what if she hates him for ruining what they have? What if Champagne Problems by Taylor Swift becomes his most relatable song? What if she –
Y/N stands up, and her hand finds that of Owen’s, a reassurance, and he knows that she can sense his anxiety. She doesn’t ask him to talk about it – she knows that he will, eventually, when he’s ready. For now, she shows him that she’s here for him, and somehow that is enough.
As she brushes his hair, his mind starts to calm down, his erratic breathing slowing down and involuntarily matching the pace of her breathing. She whispers, softly, “You’re okay. You’re safe. Everything is okay. You’re okay. I love you. I love you –”
She keeps repeating that, until it’s like a mantra in Owen’s head, turning the racing thoughts to mere background noise.
He opens his eyes, and looks into hers, and finally feels calm. He exhales. “That… uh....”
She nods, comfort flooding through her eyes. “I know, baby. But it’s okay. You’re safe now.”
He shakes his head, taking his hand in hers. “I – I – I think that maybe you and I should, uh, get – um, matching tattoos. Yeah. That’s what I wanted to ask you.” He lies.
She nods enthusiastically. “Yes! Of course. You don’t even have to ask – we’ve always talked about it, and I think that now is the perfect time! Do you wanna –”
As Y/N talks about designs, he thinks that he’s a fucking coward.
4.
As Owen laughs, he feels confident, for once. He knows that tonight he’ll be able to ask her to marry him, especially in front of all his family – he loves his family, and so does Y/N and vice versa. He remembers the first time he brought her home three months after they’d started dating. He remembers feeling absolutely euphoric about the fact that she fit right in with his family. That was also the day that she had told him, for the first time, that she loves him.
He looks around the table, and watches Y/N talk animatedly to his mother. His parents think of her as their own daughter, especially after finding out about her rocky relationship with her father. Y/N’s mother sits next to Owen, and he loves how carefree she looks – her ex-husband, really, was an asshole.
He takes the little box out of his pocket, and his cousin, Elias, gasps. “Is that an engagement ring?” He whispers, his face scrunching as if the sentence left a bad taste in his mouth.
Owen nods. “Yes. Elias, I would appreciate it if you kept it down.”
His cousin raises his hands. “Always, homie.”
  He rolls his eyes. “Right.”
Elias looks around. “Hey, do you think that it’s a good idea to propose now?”
“What do you mean?” Owen’s brows furrow.
“I mean people do it in private for a reason. What if she says no and then you get embarrassed in front of your entire family and hers? It’s sympathetic looks for the rest of your life, bro. And your parents wouldn’t be able to talk to her, nor to her mom, ‘cause it’d be, ya know, friggin’ embarrassing. Everyone’s probably gonna hate you.”
Owen’s eyes widen, and he toys with the truth in his cousin’s words. Elias shrugs, and takes a sip of his water. “But it’s up to you, dude.”
Slowly, Owen slides the ring back into his pocket.
5.
Owen looks around, checking if any distractions could be in this room. None. How could it, though? He’s standing in an empty classroom, in the middle of winter break. Nobody in their right minds would be here.
Well, that would mean that Owen’s not in his right mind. To be really, really, really honest – he is kind of losing it. He has been trying to propose to Y/N for the past month, but every time – every god damn time, something comes up and ruins everything.
So, he decided to break into his middle school. Well, ‘break into’ isn’t the right phrase – he asked the guard to give him the keys for the night, and even thanked him with a hundred dollar note. Unlike his girlfriend, he’s incapable of breaking rules.
The guard thought that it was very romantic of him, but really, he’s just tired and wants to get married already. He taps his foot anxiously, and finally hears the door opening, signalling Y/N’s arrival.
God, she looks absolutely adorable. Her nose is crimson from the cold, and she is bundled under what seems to be ten layers of clothing. She huffs, grinning when she notices him.
“Are we here to make out? Because your house was much more comfortable and so, so warm.”
  Owen shakes his head. “Nope.”
“Well, are you gonna murder me, O? Because, well, it’s certainly the perfect location.”
“I have to tell you something.” He says, taking a step toward her. He looks around and sees that there is nothing that could possibly ruin this moment, and smiles brightly, preparing himself. Y/N’s eyes gleam with anticipation, as she nods for him to continue.
“Y/N, I still remember the day that I met you. I remember the way you smiled at me even though I had spilled black coffee all over you and ruined your very pretty, white dress.”
She laughs. “I was really mad at first, yeah. But the cutest boy in all of Oklahoma was in front of me, and well, you know that I was a goner.”
He smiles fondly. “And the beautifulest girl in the world was in front of me.”
  “That’s not a word.”
“I know. And then you laughed at my dumb jokes, and even agreed to go on a date with me.”
“To compensate for that absolutely gorgeous dress.” She clarifies, a teasing smile on her face.
He grins sheepishly. “And then somehow, somewhere we fell in love, and somehow, you became my other half, and somehow, I can’t imagine a world without you. I don’t want to. You are my best friend, and you are the one person around whom I can be completely myself and face no judgements.”
“No, I do judge you. You’re a little questionable.”
“And what would I do without your wicked sense of humour?”
“Honestly? You’d be lost without me. I mean, you forget to even put your socks in the washing machine.”
“You’re not supposed to wash them. They go on your feet. Obviously.”
“That is disgusting, and you know it.”
He laughs. “I wanna be with you for the rest of my life, and I… I… I want a family with you, you know? I know that we’ve never talked about this, and I don’t know how you would feel about one, but still, if you’re up for it, I’m too. But, if you don’t, that’s okay, too. More than okay.”
For a moment, an unrecognizable expression crosses her face, and he wonders if he’s hurt her. But then the biggest smile blooms on her face.
“We should have talked about this. But I would like a family with you, too. I mean, I’ve never really wanted one, and you know why. But, after seeing you and your family, I realized that a part of me does want it. I do want to have the home that I never got to have with you and I wanna do better. I know that you’ll be an amazing dad, and I wanna raise my kid the way that kids should be raised. And I want it with no one else but you.”
Owen feels as if he’s on cloud nine, and he stares at her for a moment, wondering how lucky he is to find a girl like her. He says, “Y/N, I –”
Before he can ask her the question, though, her ringtone cuts through the silence of the empty classroom. She whispers an apology and takes her phone out from her jeans pocket.
She accepts the call and speaks into the phone. “Hey, Luka, what’s up? Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. Luka, slow down.”
She exchanges a panicked look with Owen.
Speaking of Owen, he’s losing it. Absolutely. He was so close. And for the first time, he had both confidence and hope. And something had to happen. He starts to feel annoyed at Luka, his sister, and then immediately feels bad about it, but then starts to feel annoyed again.
“Oh no, you did what? Do you need me to come?”
At Y/N’s last sentence, Owen bursts out. “Oh, for fuck’s sake!”
Y/N raises her brows at him. He feels anger replacing all his emotions, anger towards the world, it’s timings, and mostly, towards himself.
Sensing his rage, Y/N gives him a weird look. “What is wrong with you?” She whispers.
“Everything. Everything is wrong!” He whispers back.
He starts to feel breathless, and the familiar sensation of a panic attack starts to overcome him. He looks around, trying to focus on something, anything, when he spots the door.
He looks at his girlfriend, and says, “I love you, but I’m gonna lose it.” With that, he walks by her, and out the doors, while she yells after him.
+1.
It’s been twenty minutes since he last talked to Y/N, and he has lost all hope. He’s now sitting on a park bench a couple of minutes away from the school, and he is listing all the reasons why his life is absolutely shit.
  “Hey, you okay?”
Owen looks up, and notices Y/N walking up to the bench, with a concerned look in her eyes.
“I – I just… I’ve been trying to ask you something, Y/N, for the past month. And every time I try to do it, I’m either interrupted, or I’m not confident enough. And, today, there were no distractions, and I was finally feeling confident and hopeful and then my sister decides to ruin it – is she okay, by the way?”
She nods and sits down beside him. “Yeah, she misplaced her dress for tonight.”
He grits his teeth in annoyance. He loves her, but his sister has the worst timing.
Y/N rests a hand on his, an odd look taking over her features. “You should know by now that the answer will always, and obviously be a yes.”
Owen sharply turns towards her. “What?”
A brilliant smile makes its way onto her face. “You are gonna propose, aren’t you?”
A gasp involuntarily escapes him. “How’d you know?”
“Well, you just said some pretty nice things about me. Also, I can see the outline of the ring box, and you keep checking your pocket for it every two minutes, even if you don’t realize it. You’re literally doing it right now.”
In his defence, he wasn’t, or rather, isn’t consciously doing it. He slowly retracts his hand from his pocket and gives her a sheepish smile.
She stands up. “Really, O, are you gonna do it or not –”
“Yep, yep, yep.” He clears his throat and stands in front of her and drops to a knee. He takes the ring out, and flips open the box, and as the diamond’s reflected light dances across her face, Y/N gasps.
  “Oh my god, that’s gorgeous!”
He grins. “I have great taste.”
She smiles teasingly. “I know, baby.”
  “Will you ma–”
  “Yes! Yes, yes, yes!”
“You didn’t even let me finish!”
“Someone would’ve probably interrupted you and I couldn’t take the chance of you losing your shit again.”
  “You do have a point.”
  “I always do.”
He slides the ring onto her finger, and she kneels in front of him to match their heights. She wraps her arms around his neck, and he wraps his around her waist, both desperate to be closer, closer, closer.
“I love you so much.” He whispers into her hair, and she kisses his shoulder.
  “I love you. Forever.”
She untangles herself from him, and as she kisses him, Owen realizes that he had no reason to be worried at all.

Crazy Baking- Charlie Gillespie Imagine
Summary: You bake a cake with Charlie and Owen, and it gets a little crazy in the kitchen.
Prompt: "How the hell did you get cake batter on the ceiling?!" "Your guess is as good as mine.”
Warnings: a few minor swear words. (Platonic!Owen)
Words: 1.7k
Requests: open (x) closed ()
A/N: I found the word prompt from @promptsforthestugglingauthor! Also, sorry this one is a little shorter than my other imagines. I’m in the midst of doing finals, but enjoy this cute imagine!
Tumblr media
“Hey, babe? Can you get the flour and sugar out for me, please?” I ask Charlie while setting two medium sized bowls on the counter. Charlie, Owen, and I are baking a cake for Madison’s surprise birthday party tonight. Savannah is planning it all, and I have no idea why she had Charlie and Owen in charge of the cake because they are wild animals when they are together. Therefore, I offered to help because I want the cake to turn out good! Also, so that nothing catches on fire!
“Where is that again?” Charlie asks.
I turn my head to see where he was looking. He was just standing in the middle of the kitchen like a lost puppy. “It is in the pantry on the bottom shelf,” I point out. He nods his head and goes to the pantry.
As I was grabbing and plugging in the mixer, I hear the front door open. “Who’s ready to bake a cake!?” the sound of Owen’s voice comes from the living room. “Sorry I’m late, (Y/N)!”
“It’s okay, O. I was beginning to worry you were going to ditch us!” I joke.
“You know, it was really tempting, but I knew you would kill me if I didn’t come help,” Owen said as he set down his backpack on the couch before walking into the kitchen.
“Damn right she would have!” Charlie says, setting down the flower and sugar next to the mixing bowl.
“Alright!” I exclaim while clapping my hands. “Let’s get to baking! We can’t be late bringing in the cake for the party! I will mix the dry ingredients, Owen you will mix the wet ingredients, and Charlie you will put the two together. I will then pour it into the cake pan. Sound good?”
Charlie and Owen in sync solute and say, “Yes, ma’am!”
I chuckle at them being so alike. “Sweet! Let’s do this!” I say enthusiastically! I separated the wet and dry ingredients for Owen and I. “Oh, babe! Can you please preheat the oven to 350 for me, please?” I ask Charlie kindly.
“I sure can!” he says, skipping to the oven.
“Thank you!” I smile and start putting the dry ingredients together.
I suddenly feel big arms wrap around me from behind. “Of course, babe,” Charlie whispers in my ear and kisses my cheek. I blush at his actions. I hear Owen gag beside me as Charlie was being lovey dovey to me.
“Oh, shut up Owen!” I exclaim as I whisk the ingredients.
“Aw, does Owen need some love, too?” Charlie asks in a baby voice, unwrapping his arms around me to wrap his arms around Owen instead.
Owen immediately tries to get Charlie off of him as he is trying to mix his wet ingredients. “Ew, no! Get off of me!” Owen complains.
Charlie laughs as he attempts to hold on to Owen, but he fails as Owen pushed him away. “Fine then!” Charlie scoffs and fold his arms like a child. “I’ll go back to (Y/N). Don’t complain about not getting loves when you don’t want them!” I giggle at them being so dramatic. Charlie walks back to me, wraps his arms around my waist, and snuggles in my neck.
“You guys are ridiculous!” I say. “Are you done with your mixing?” I ask Owen.
“Almost!” Owen replies as he mixes more.
“Sweet,” I whisper. “I’m going to run to the restroom real quick. Once Owen is done mixing, Charlie you can put the dry and wet bowls into the bigger bowel. I’ll be right back. Please, don’t make a mess!” I instruct as I take off the apron that was around my torso.
“Okay, okay!” Charlie says, raising his hands in defense. I grab him by the shoulder and place a kiss on his cheek and walk to the bathroom
“She is quite demanding today,” I hear Owen whisper.
“When is she not?” Charlie whispers back.
I roll my eyes and shout, “I heard that!” I then hear them snicker at my response. I reach the bathroom that was attached to my bedroom and shut the door. I use this time to check my phone and look at my notifications. I saw that Savannah texted that we were going to set up her apartment for the party around 5:30. I looked at the time to see it was 3:00, so thank goodness we have time for the cake to cool down for a bit before we have to leave. Plus, I still have to get ready.
Suddenly, I could hear the boys laughing along with a couple of clanking noises. I can’t help but think they are messing around. I finish up in the bathroom, wash my hands, and walk back to the kitchen. As soon as I walk in, Charlie and Owen were wrestling on the couch in the living room. I notice there were a couple of spills around the large bowl that Charlie used to mix the dry and wet ingredients, and they also poured the batter into the cake pan for me. “Guys!” I shout to get their attention. They both instantly stop at my voice. “Why are you wrestling? You could have put the cake in the oven!”
Owen stands up first, “He started it!”
Charlie slaps Owen’s thigh, “I did not!”
“Yes, you did! You started to attack me when I said I was going to-“ Owen starts to say before Charlie hits him again.
“Dude!” Charlie says through his teeth as he stands up next to Owen.
I place my hands on my hips. “You were going to what?” I ask seriously.
“Nothing!” Owen squeaks and walks back into the kitchen. “Here, let me put the cake in the oven.” He opens the oven door, carefully puts in the cake in the oven, shuts the oven door, and turns on a timer for 35 minutes.
“Owen,” I say as I grab his arm to face me. “What did you guys do?” I ask sternly. Owen then just looks up. I hear Charlie let out a frustrated sigh. I look up as well to see cake batter on the ceiling. "How the hell did you get cake batter on the ceiling?!"
"Your guess is as good as mine,” Charlie sighs.
“Yeah, we were messing around, and next thing we know, there’s batter on the ceiling! I was about to tell you, but then Charlie over here didn’t want to tell you. One of us was going to just clean it up, so we were wrestling to see who would clean it up,” Owen explains.
“We’re sorry, (Y/N),” Charlie apologizes.
“Honestly, it’s okay,” I reassure. “I’m not upset at all! I thought you guys broke something. This is nothing!” Both Charlie and Owen let out a relieved sigh. I grab two rags from a drawer and hand it to the them. “But you guys are both cleaning it up.”
They both chuckle. “I got the ceiling,” Owen says, slapping the rag on Charlie’s shoulder. They wet their rags and soak it in dish soap to clean up their mess.
As they do so, I put away all the ingredients we used as well as put the measuring cups, tablespoons and teaspoons, bowls, and whisks into the sink. I turn towards the boys. Owen got a chair and was wiping the ceiling. Charlie had finished wiping the counters as he was drying them with a paper towel. “Thank you, guys. See how officiant that was without wrestling?” I smile.
“Yeah, yeah,” Owen sighs. “But wrestling is just so fun!”
“Mmm, I don’t know about that. The horseplay made a mess in the first place!” I say.
“Okay? You know wrestling is fun,” Charlie winks as he pinned me against the counter I was leaning on. I shake my head and playfully push his chest. Next thing I know, Charlie picks me up by the waist and throws me over his shoulder. I screeched as I was now upside down! He jogs over to the living room before he throws me on the couch. Through my protests to let me down, I could hear Charlies contagious laugh. He pins me down by straddling my hips and starts to tickle me. I try to kick Charlie off, but it was no use!
“Mercy! Mercy!” I scream through my giggles. “Th-this isn’t wr-wrestling! This i-is tor-rcher!” I could barely speak through my laughter.
Charlie finally stops tickling me before plopping his full body onto mine, his face nuzzling into my neck. “I’m sorry for making a mess in your kitchen. I know you’re stressed about making the cake and wanting the party to be nice,” he whispers.
I move my head to give Charlie a kiss at the top of his head, “It’s okay, babe.”
Suddenly, I feel even more pressure on my body as Owen jumps on top of Charlie. Charlie and I let out a groan because of Owen’s weight.
“Owen! Get your fat ass off of me!” Charlie exclaims right into my ear.
“You’re not the one being squished! I’m under here, too!” I say.
“But you guys are comfy!” Owen whines.
“OWEN!” Charlie and I shout at the same time.
I could physically hear the sound of Owen rolling his eyes. “You guys are no fun,” Owen huffs before getting off of Charlie who then got off of me. I let out a deep breath as I could now breathe properly. Charlie holds out his hand to help me stand up. As I stood up, Charlie pulls me close to him to give me a sweet kiss. I hum in the kiss before I pull away.
“I’m going to let you guys hang out, so I can get ready for the party,” I announce.
“Sounds good, babe,” Charlie smiles. I give him a kiss on the cheek. When I pulled away from Charlie’s grip to walk to my bedroom, he smacks my butt. This causes me to squeal a little bit as I was not expecting him to do that in front of Owen. I could feel my cheeks get warm and I walked faster to my bedroom. Charlie giggled at my reaction. I could hear Owen making a comment at how gross we were.

New Girl
pairing: charlie gillespie x reader
summary: you are the new girl in your apartment complex and bump into a super cute boy who offers to help you move in.
word count: 580
Tumblr media
Your new apartment was quiet, but that's what you wanted; no distractions in order to focus on school and your job. The apartment building was of average size and your one bedroom, one bath apartment sat on the sixth floor of the building. New to the city, you didn't know anyone but your coworkers that you previously met a week before you moved. You definitely didn't know how to navigate the town, so you vowed to drive around that weekend to learn it.
The room had two windows beside the front door, was furnished with a couch and a murphy bed; as well as a kitchen and bathroom big enough for a couple people.
Boxes containing your belonging were stacked up beside each side of the door. As you were bringing the last box up the stairs, you noticed the door to the stairs you had left opened had been closed. The elevator was being repaired for the doors not opening.
You turned your back to the door and used your backside to push the bar that enables the door to open, but it doesn't open very far.
"Ow," a voice said.
Quickly turning your head and body you see a guy rubbing his forehead with his eyes squinted. Realizing you hit him with the door, you quickly run through the open door and drop the boxes.
"I am so sorry," you say. "I didn't see you at all. My back was to you and I was pushing the door with my butt and-"
You were cut off. "Dude, it's okay, calm down. It's just a little bump on the head; it'll heal." He reaches his arm out to you. "I'm Charlie."
Before shaking his outstretched hand, you look at the brown haired guy for a second. His hair was shoulder length, wavy and gave off the appearance of being soft. He was skinny, but built, and not much taller than you. Those hazel eyes were not only beautiful, but calm and welcoming.
"Y/n. Again, I'm very sorry for whacking you with the door."
"No worries, seriously."
The both of you smiled and stood in silence for a moment before Charlie broke the silence.
"I, uh, could help you move in if you'd like."
"I've only got these two boxes left to take to my apartment,
You bend over to grab said boxes.
"and as much as I appreciate your offer to help, I'm not good at being okay with other people putting stuff in places I don't want them to be."
The hazel-eyed human chuckled. "Then what are you good at?"
"Wouldn't you like to know," you playfully said.
"Actually, I would."
"Oh," your breath hitched in your throat, "well you can't find those things out unless we spend time together."
Charlie smiled. "Then meet me here tomorrow. We're going to go have lunch."
"Are you sure, Charlie? I don't want to take up any of your time-"
"You're not taking up my time, y/n." Charlie stepped closer to you, locking eyes until he pulled the fallen eyelash from your cheek. "Make a wish."
The lash was daintily sitting on his thumb and as you gently blow it away with closed eyes, you make a wish. When you open your eyes, the boy has vanished; almost like it was a dream. A smile danced on your lips as you made your way up the stairs with the last of your things.

A Love Like This
Owen Joyner x Fem!Reader
Summary: Owen makes his way back to Norman, OK after filming and resumes the on again, off again relationship with reader. The feelings between the two escalate until one finally breaks.
Word Count:3437
Warnings: Mild Swearing, Fluff
A/N: HUGE thank you to @dream-a-little-bigger-x for letting me bounce ideas their way when I got stuck on this!
Tumblr media
Owen stumbled around in the dark picking up a handful of white pebbles that separated the stepping stones lining the backyard of the house. He stood outside of her window, the soft glow from her bedroom light illuminating him as he began to ping the pebbles off of her window. His face lit up with a smile as she pushed the window up and peered outside. The sticky summer air seeped into her air-conditioned bedroom, leaving her skin feeling sticky.
Owen dropped his handful of pebbles and waved his hand, beckoning her to meet him outside in the middle of the night.
The giddy feeling inside her stomach erupted as she slipped her feet into a pair of sandals and hastily climbed out of her window. Owen moved forward, grabbing her waist and helping her down. His hands never leaving her body as she slowly turned around to greet him, her hands gripping his forearms.
“Hey, you.” She smiled up at him from under her eyelashes.
“Hi”
He dipped down, catching her lips with his as her eyes fluttered shut. Her hands moved from his biceps to hang loosely around his neck. Owen pulled back and she kept her eyes closed, a light hum vibrating in her chest as he placed a chaste kiss on her forehead.
“So, where to tonight, Casanova?” Her smile reached up to her eyes, creating small crinkles at the corners of her eyes.
Owen stepped back and looked up at the sky with a smile tugging at his lips “I hear we’ve got clear skies tonight”
She drew her eyes up to the sky “we also have a lot of light pollution, Owen.” She let her eyes drift down from the sky and over to the boy standing in front of her.
Owen looked back down at her with that familiar glint in his eyes that she’d become accustomed to throughout the years of their unsaid relationship. With Owen constantly leaving for his acting gigs, they had never set anything into stone but they had always managed to find themselves back together again the second he was back in Norman, Oklahoma.
Owen placed his hands over his heart in mock offense and gawked at her “Do you take me for a fool, y/n?”
Giggles erupted from the petite girl “only most of the time, Joyner.” She teased.
“Shall we?”
Owen extended his left hand out towards her. Y/N was quick to let her palm slide into Owen’s, their fingers interlocking as he guided her out to the street where his pick-up truck was parked. She dropped his hand as she clambered into the pick-up truck, her eyes immediately set on the paper map that was strewn across the dash.
Her attention was brought back to the blonde boy as he slid into the driver's seat and placed the key into the ignition. Owen turned the key, bringing the truck to life before putting the truck and drive and letting his left hand take the steering wheel while his right took its place back in Y/N’s grasp.
Owen let his eyes drift from the road ahead over to Y/N. He watched her lips move as she quietly sang along to a song on the radio. He let his thumb run over her knuckles and moved his eyes back to the road.
The sky steadily grew darker as they moved away from the city lights until they were nearly half an hour outside of the city limits. Owen pulled the truck off of the road, turned the headlights off, and removed the key from the ignition,
“So, is there where you kill me and dump my body?” Y/N joked as she slid across the bench seat of the truck and kissed Owen’s cheek.
“Why I put up with you is beyond me.” Owen joked back and opened his door.
Y/N slid out behind Owen and followed Owen around the truck. He lifted the tailgate down and hopped into the bed where he opened a box of blankets and pillows. Y/N watched as the boy meticulously laid everything out before he extended his hand out to her and pulled her into the back of the truck.
Owen laid down on the makeshift bed with Y/N cuddling into his side, both looking up at the star-filled night sky,
“Owen?” She called the boy's name quietly, drawing his eyes from the sky down to meet hers.
She moved so that her head was resting on his chest and murmured “never mind.”
Owen kissed the top of her head and squeezed her waist gently, reassuring her that she didn’t have to say it. He knew she loved him and she knew he loved her but saying it aloud would make it real and they didn’t dare to cross that boundary.
Y/N woke up with Owen’s arms wrapped around her body and her head in the crook of his neck. Her eyelashes tickled the skin on his neck as her eyes fluttered open.
“Owen” She whispered.
The blonde boy groaned and tightened his grip on the girl for a moment before opening his eyes.
Y/N lifted Owen’s right wrist so she could glance at his watch and sighed “I’m late for work.”
She pushed herself up into a sitting position and raised her arms above her head to stretch.
“Owen, seriously, get up!”
Owen pulled himself up and nuzzled his face into her neck “call out, you’re already late so just call out.”
Y/N turned her head to catch Owen’s pleading eyes. She bit her lip and weighed her options, on one hand, she would definitely get fired if she called out for the fifth time this summer and on the other, this was her last week with Owen before he left again for filming.
“You’re a bad influence, you know?” She tilted her head up and kissed the boy's cheek.
Owen hugged her from behind, pulling her back against his chest while she fished her phone from her back pocket. She dialed the familiar number to the cafe where she worked and worked up her best “sick” voice, throwing in a chesty cough for good measure before hanging up and sliding her phone back into her pocket.
“And here I was thinking I was the actor!” Owen laughed and removed his arms from her body letting her stand up.
Owen shoved the blankets and pillows back into the box and hopped down from the truck. He grabbed her by the hips and lifted her out of the truck before closing the tailgate. Owen walked around to the passenger door and pulled it open before assisting Y/N into the truck.
Owen took his spot back behind the steering wheel and started the truck, navigating the pair back to Norman. Y/N rolled her window down and threw her right arm out the window, letting her hand move in motion with the warm wind. The invading wind that rushed through the window tousled her curls around her face. She sang off-key to the pop song that played through the speakers, giggling as Owen jokingly groaned. Owen’s eyes lit up as he smiled to himself. Hands down, this version of Y/N was his favorite version.
‘Are you hungry?’ Owen asked, his eyes spotting a small diner as they approached the outskirts of the city limits. He was pulling into the parking lot before Y/N gave him an answer.
“Bold of you to assume I was going to say yes, Joyner.” Y/N smirked as she hopped out of the truck.
Owen slung his arm across her shoulders and pulled her into his side as they walked towards the door.
“You eat like a 300 pound NFL linebacker, Y/N. I really didn’t even need to ask the question at all.”
“I do NOT!” She gasped and slapped the boy’s chest.
“You DO-” Owen threw his head back in laughter “-last summer you beasted me in a hot wing eating contest and literally an hour later you were whining about being hungry and ate an entire combo meal from McDonald’s!”
Y/N slid into a booth in the back corner of the diner, Owen sliding in the side opposite of her. Her cheeks flushed red at the recollection of the memory. She had certainly never been one to be self-conscious but she definitely didn’t want the boy that she was enamored by to think of her as some sort of food eating trash-compactor.
Owen’s brows pulled together as he took in her change of demeanor, “hey,” he said softly, “I didn’t mean it in any kind of negative way, ya know? I just meant that I like to think that after knowing you all of these years that I know you well enough…”
Y/N looked up at the boy and playfully rolled her eyes “I’ll let you off of the hook this time! But, I would recommend not likening any other girls to NFL players in the future.”
“Noted.” Owen smiled at the girl before they both turned their attention to the approaching waitress.
All hesitations left Y/N’s body as her stomach growled. She riddled off what seemed like half of the menu and a glass of chocolate milk before looking up at Owen and asking what he wanted.
Owen stifled his laughter as their table slowly filled up with plates of food.
“Okay, so maybe you had a point.” Y/N sheepishly admitted as her eyes scanned the assortment of breakfast foods laid out in front of her. She stabbed her fork into the plate of eggs while her left hand grabbed a slice of bacon.
Owen picked up his breakfast bagel and took a bite out of it. “I like that you can be yourself around me.” He said with his mouth half full.
She smiled back at the boy before grabbing her phone that was vibrating on the table. She let her fork drop onto her plate of pancakes and pressed her thumb to the phone, unlocking it.
                                                    Boss Lady
Don’t bother coming in for any more shifts. You can pick up your pay at the end of the week.
A deep frown pulled at her lips as she read the text message from her supervisor. She knew she shouldn’t have been surprised that she would be fired for calling out but it didn’t make her any less upset. She dropped the phone onto the table and dropped her head into her hands.
“Y/N, you okay?”
She looked up at the boy and narrowed her eyes at him “I got fired. So, no, I’m not fucking okay.”
Owen lifted both of his hands up in front of him “hey, whoa, you don’t have to take it out on me.”
Y/N grabbed her wallet from her purse and dropped the appropriate amount of cash on the table before sliding out of the booth. Tears stung at the corners of her eyes as she hastily made her way to Owen’s pick-up truck. She could hear Owen’s footsteps on the pavement of the parking lot as he ran up behind her.
Owen grabbed the girl’s shoulders and turned her around to face him.
“Are you seriously blaming me for this?”
He was met with silence.
“That’s not fair, you didn’t have to call out. You could have told me no!” Owen argued.
“You’re right-” she met his gaze before continuing “I make bad decisions around you and that’s not your fault. It’s mine...you come back a-and every single time I let this temporary thing that we have control every decision I make.”
She tilted her head to the sky and blinked rapidly trying to hold the tears from slipping down her cheeks.
“Please, just take me home.” She whispered and turned away from the boy.
Owen silently followed her to the truck and got into the driver’s seat. She sat with her body slumped against the passenger door, her eyes never leaving the window as Owen navigated them back to her house. A silent tension lingered in the air between the two for the duration of the drive and Owen desperately wanted to reach out to Y/N and hold her hand. He wanted to tell her that he didn’t see her as temporary, that he didn’t see anything between them as temporary. But instead, he swallowed his words and settled on fleeting glances at the girl.
He placed the truck into park as he pulled up to her house and Y/N silently unbuckled her seat belt before opening the door and sliding out of the truck.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Owen asked, hopefully.
Y/N wrapped her arms around her body and looked down at her feet “I don’t know.” She licked her lips before adding “I-I think maybe we should distance ourselves...you’ll be leaving in a few days anyway.”
Owen didn’t have a chance to respond before the passenger door was being slammed shut and Y/N was walking to her front door. Owen stayed sitting in his truck, waiting for her to look back at him and wave from the door the way that she always did. His heart plummeted to his stomach as the girl opened her front door and slipped inside with a second glance. Inside, Y/N pulled back the curtains from the living room window and watched as Owen’s truck pulled off and disappeared down the road.
She let the curtains fall back into place and trudged her way upstairs to her bedroom where she fell to her bed. For the first night of the entire summer, Y/N didn’t hear the familiar pinging of pebbles hitting her window. She didn’t meet Owen for a midnight rendezvous and she sleep didn’t come easy to her. Her heart felt heavy at the way she left things with Owen and she wasn’t positive if she had actually meant anything she had said or if she was just trying to save them both from the inevitable.
With a heavy sigh, Y/N, pulled herself out of bed and to the bathroom where she brushed her teeth before hopping into the shower. She let the hot water pelt against her skin as she contemplated whether she should call Owen or not and take back all of the things that she had said.
She exited the shower and headed back to her room where she slipped a t-shirt over her head and pulled on some pajama pants before she grabbed a book from her bookshelf and settled into the comfy chair in the corner of her room. A smile tugged at her lips as she remembered two summers ago when Owen employed their mutual friends to keep her busy for the day while he created a reading nook in her room.
She read over the same sentence five times before placing her bookmark back into the page and closing the book. Her ears pricked up at the sound of pebbles on glass and she couldn’t help the smile that took over her face. She scrambled out of the chair and across the room to the window. She flung the window open and didn’t wait for Owen to make his way over to her before she hastily climbed out of it.
“You know, I do have a front door, right?’ She teased as she made her way over to Owen
Owen shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged “something about this just feels more romantic, I guess.”
“What are you doing here?” Y/N asked, her eyes holding his gaze.
Owen’s hands reached out to hers and intertwined with them. He held both of her hands between them “It’s the last day of the state fair and I have two tickets…I was hoping you’d go with me?”
“You sure you want to take me? I was kinda harsh yesterday.”
Owen dropped her left hand and lifted his hand to her cheek and let his thumb graze her cheek bone.
“I wouldn't want to go with anyone else.”
“Okay, let me get changed.”
Owen helped the girl climb back into her window. She rummaged through her closet and settled on a floral sundress and gold sandals. She left her face bare and pulled her hair into a high ponytail before she ran downstairs. She closed the front door and made her way over to Owen who was leaning against his pick-up truck. She pressed a kiss to his cheek and pulled back only for Owen to dip down and catch her lips with his.
“You look...wow…” he breathed out as he pulled back. She felt her cheeks burn red at his compliment.
“Don’t be getting all soft on me, Joyner.” Y/N replied before moving away from him and getting into the truck.
Y/N’s eyes lit up as they pulled up to the fairgrounds. She tugged on Owen’s hand, dragging him to the balloon game, the one with the water gun.
“You know these games are rigged.”
“Shut up and entertain me, Joyner.”
Owen reluctantly handed over two tickets and took a seat on the stool next to Y/N. They came up empty handed but that didn’t stop Y/N from dragging Owen to each and every fair game until they finally lucked out at ring-toss. She hugged the stuffed sloth to her chest and turned to Owen.
“See! They aren’t all rigged!”
Owen rolled his eyes and pulled her into his side “I mean, we literally spent like $30 worth of tickets on a stuffed toy that cost like maybe $2…”
Y/N shrugged “yeah, well, I love it.”
Owen bit his lip as he stared down at the girl next to him. He desperately wanted to tell her how much he loved her. He wanted to confess that his favorite part of the year was always when he came back to Norman, back to her. But instead, he swallowed the words back down and let Y/N lead him to their next destination.
Owen placed a kiss to the top of her head before letting his arm slide down from her shoulders until his palm slid into hers. They stood in line at the ferris wheel as the sun began to set and the world began to light up with the colorful fair lights.
They clambered into the bucket seat and the attendant lowered the bar across their laps. Y/N’s eyes lit up with wonder as they were slowly lifted into the air, the wheel making two full turns before it stopped with them at the top.
She looked over at Owen to find he was already looking at her. Her hands nervously fidgeted in her lap as she contemplated if she was really going to cross the boundary that they had set when all of this had started four summers ago. Owen leaned in and she felt her eyes flutter shut as their lips met with Owen’s right hand gently cupping her cheek.
“Owen..” she breathed out, her lips barely ghosting over his. She pulled back and averted her gaze. She looked out over the fairgrounds at the flashing lights of the rides and the sun that was barely peeking over the trees.
“I love you. I’m in love with you. I know I’m breaking the rules b-but I can’t let you leave this time without knowing.”
She nervously let her gaze move back to the boy sitting next to her as the ferris wheel began to turn again.
“Please say something.” She pleaded as the silence that followed her confession began to settle on her.
“I--I, we can just forget---” She was cut off by Owen’s lips on hers but unlike every other kiss they had ever shared, this one felt intentionally passionate.
“I never wanted us to be temporary, Y/N. I’ve been holding in these feelings for so long, waiting for you to feel the same way. ” Owen’s fingers ran the length of her jawline. “And every time I see you, I ask myself what did I do to deserve a love like this?”
The ride came to a stop and Owen helped the girl out of the bucket seat of the ferris wheel. A smile pulled at her lips as she followed him back to the pick-up truck. She gently tugged on his hand as he opened the passenger door for her. Owen turned around and she drew a step closer. She hung her arms around his shoulders, her lips kissed at the corner of his mouth.
“So, what next, Casanova?”

Tumblr media
request: yes;
“Okay so I had a dream last night and i thought that it could make a cute fanfic, so basically the reader is dating Owen (reader is also an actress in JATP) and she has a scene with Charlie where they have to kiss and Owen just gets like super protective and kinda self conscious (which obviously he shouldn’t hes a king) and it’s just like super fluff hehe”
a/n: This was longer than I expected to be and it took me a while to figure out how I wanted it to end, but I think I like it! Hope you enjoy!
Also, my requests are closed for the time being! I have my inbox open so I can still talk to everyone but as of right now please don’t send in requests!

———————————-
Today was the day.
The day finally came for your big scene, one that you were nervous and excited about all at the same time. You even tried to avoid it. It was a weird mix of emotions that you couldn’t quite explain.
You sat in the hair and makeup chair, trying to calm your nervous thoughts down. Julie and The Phantoms was your first real show that you booked, and this was your biggest scene of the season.
A warm hands placing itself on top of your smaller, shaking ones pulls you from your thoughts. It also causes you to jump at the contact as you were so far from reality at that moment.
A chuckle leaves the lips from the same person who owns the hand that was on top of yours.
You turn to look at the blue eyes that were staring back at you. You were met  with the kind smile of your boyfriend; he was well aware of the nerves that were plaguing you.
“It’s going to be okay Y/N, you’ve got this!” He smiles at you, “Besides if you fail, I will only love you a little less.”
Your mouth drops at your boyfriend’s words. You’re quick to pull your hands from his and lean over to deliver a slap to his chest.
“Owen!” You yell shocked at his words.
The two of you laugh together.
“Seriously though Y/N, you’re going to be great!” You smile at your boyfriend’s kind words, nodding your head along with him.
As much as you wanted to believe his words, the nervous thoughts were still prominent in your mind.
Owen sits with you in silence, your hand in his, as the team finishes putting you together to look like your character.
Season two of Julie and The Phantoms came and they decided that they wanted to add a female ghost into the mix.
And that is how you got here; your character was Tatum Lanning. Your character was supposed to be the antagonist for Charlie’s character Luke.
Tatum had died when she turned 17 as well, but she didn’t know why. Her goal was to try to figure out what happened and in searching she somehow became entangled with Julie and the boys.
Tatum was rough around the edges; she was a tough girl due to trauma that she endured in her life. She had a nose piercing and was covered in a few tattoo’s. She had died around the same time the boys did so her style was similar to theirs.
The only problem with Tatum was the fact that her and Luke did not get along, for the fact that they both are very similar and are dealing with the fact of having issues with their parents when they were alive.
“Y/N, you’re ready to go!” Soyon pulls you from your thoughts.
You can feel your nerves kick up again. This was just your first real scene with such raw emotion that you feared you wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
“I’m nervous O.” You grab his hand letting him lead you to Julie’s garage where your scene takes place for today.
“It’s gonna be okay Y/N! We’ve gone over this scene so many times, plus you and Charlie have practiced it a lot! You crushed it every time and today won’t be any different.”
Owen finishes his pep talk as you reach the set. He turns to face you at the end of it so that you’re facing one another, the look in his eyes instantly calming you down.
You may be nervous but you trust the words coming out of Owen’s mouth. You’ve got this, you’ve been practicing this scene for months; you could do it in your sleep by this point.
“You’re right, I’ve got this.” You smile and lean up to press a kiss to Owen’s lips.
You pull away when you hear Kenny’s voice and his footsteps coming towards you.
“Y/N! Quick change!” Kenny pauses as he stops in front of you and Owen and looks at the two of you with an awkward smile, “So we decided that we want Tatum and Luke to kiss scene.”
“How about no?” Owen’s words shocking both you and Kenny. Neither of you expected Owen to talk back, yet alone with an outburst like that.
Your eyes fling back in forth between Owen and Kenny. You can see the discomfort in Owen’s eyes but can tell he is trying to hide it. He didn’t mean to say that out loud.
“I am sorry, that was not on purpose.” Kenny gives him a side eye but laughs knowing Owen didn’t mean any harm and that it was just as much as surprise for him that he said it as it was for everyone else. “Anyways there will be a kissing scene today!” Kenny says.
“Oh okay.” You practically choke out.
“I know it’s a surprise but,” again he trails off looking at you and Owen, “ we think it’s best for the dynamic of the character’s relationship!  We want you to do the scene just how we practiced but at the end we want the kiss to occur, but we’re gonna let you and Charlie take the lead on it! Do what you feel is best!”
“Got it Kenny!” You smile at him trying to hide your own discomfort. First of all you have never kissed anyone for a scene, let alone your boyfriend’s best friend.
You turn to face back to Owen, an awkward smile graced upon both of your lips. The two of you just stand there in an awkward silence.
“So,” Owen is the first to break the silence, “that’s a curve ball.”
“Ya it is.” You can tell Owen is uncomfortable but you don’t know how to fix the situation. It’s not like you could stop the scene from occurring. “You trust me right O?”
“Of course I do, you know that.”
“Then we’ve got nothing to worry! This scene maybe a little awkward now for us but it’s just a scene.” You tell him, trying to convince the both of you that it would be fine and not as weird as you know it is.
“I know, it’s just a scene, you’re right.” He leans down to give you another kiss. “Go crush it killer, you’ve got this!”
You then turn on your heel, to go walk into the middle the garage where your scene will be starting. Charlie is already there talking to a few of the crew mates, they disperse when you walk up to them.
Charlie turns to look at you with a smile on his face. “So? They told you about the change for the scene.” He asks you.
“That they did.” You smile back awkwardly.
“Does Owen know?”
“That he does!” The two of you just stand there silently. “It’s gonna be fine, it’s just a scene and we’re both professionals so is Owen!” You say trying to convince the both of you that it’s fine.
“You’re right Y/N, we’ve got this!” Charlie is cut off before he can continue by Kenny yelling at everyone to get in places to start the scene.
The two of you step back from each other, getting ready to act your hearts out.
“And action!”
“I just don’t understand why you always have to be here Tatum!” Charlie yells as Luke, his brows furrowed and a pout on his face.
“Just because you don’t like having me around Luke doesn’t mean I can’t be around. Besides Julie asked me to come over, she said she had something for me.” You say nonchalantly as you throw your body onto the couch.
Leaving Luke standing by himself next to the piano. The pout on his face still evident.
“I just don’t get why they think you’re so great.” Luke turns to face you, a smirk now replacing the pout, “you’re actually quite annoying.”
You roll your eyes at his words, knowing that he wanted to rile you up.
“Whatever Patterson, you’re just upset they like me and want me around despite you thinking otherwise! You just don’t like that they don’t listen to your every word now.”
Tatum knows how to get under Luke’s skin, the same way he knows how to get under hers.
You could see the anger fuming from his face. Everyone knew Luke liked to take the lead on things, but he didn’t like having it pointed out. For whatever reason.
“Just shut it Lanning, you don’t know what you’re talking about.” Again you roll your eyes at his words.
“I know exactly what I’m talking about,” you’re shoving yourself up from the couch and walking closer to Luke, “You’re just upset that King Luke isn’t being listened too. Well news flash you’re not in charge of everything and everyone!”
It seems like a silly argument but it gets under both of your skin. Luke and Julie had gotten in an argument a few weeks ago, Julie had pointed that Luke had a power issue that he needed to work on. So since then, Luke has been hyper cautious of sharing the power between everyone.
“You’re wrong Lanning,” now Luke has closed the gap between you two and is getting in your face, “I don’t like you here because I find you annoying. I think you’re overbearing and overstep your boundaries!”
“Funny, I think the same thing about you! You just don’t like that your friends like me and come to me with their issues before they go to you or the fact that they don’t listen to you about me!”
“That’s not true! They just feel bad for you and all your issues!”
“I could say the same thing about you Patterson with your mommy issues.”
Now the two of you are chest to chest, both of you heaving as the fight has taken the breath out of both of you. You can see the anger evident on Luke’s and can only assume it was evident on your face as well.
The silence laying over the two of you like a dark cloud. Then the next thing you know, Luke has his hand on the back of your neck and is crashing his lips into yours.
Your lips interlocked for a few seconds, as they move together and the two of you pour your emotions into the kiss.
Then you’re pulling away from him and taking a step back. Both of you looking at each other bewildered. Your hand moves up to trace your lips, the feeling of his still lingering on them. Then you poof out before either of you could say another word.
“And cut!” Kenny is clapping his hands at the scene that just unfolded in front of him, “That was amazing you two, great job!”
You smile at his words, grateful that you finally got this scene over and that you were able to make your way through it.
You look around trying to find Owen but you can’t seem to find his blonde hair anywhere in the crowd.
“Do you see Owen?” You whisper at Charlie, hoping that he had eyes on your boyfriend.
“No, I don’t.”
You can feel your heart tug at his words. Owen said he would be there for you and this scene, so not having him there upsets you.
“Go find him.”
That’s all it takes for you to speed walk off the set and go looking for Owen. You didn’t know where to look for him, but if he wasn’t around the common area you assumed, he was in his trailer.
You were right.
You slowly open the door and peek your head around it, hoping to see your boyfriend.
You see the top of his blonde hair hanging off the couch.
“Owen?” You make your way into the trailer; you were just greeted by a grunt coming for your boyfriend who had his face buried into the couch.
“O?” Again you ask, sitting on the end of the couch, rubbing your hand up and down his back. “Why did you leave back there?”
Owen stays lying face down for a few more seconds, letting your rub your hand on his back longer before he rolls over to face you.
He doesn’t say anything, he just stares at you.
“Why so you think I left?” The tone of his voice shocking you especially at how short he was about it.
You just look back at him, confused.
“It’s actually just my favorite thing getting to watch my best friend make out with my girlfriend! Sorry I didn’t want to see it last any longer.” Owen cuts you off before you can even say anything else. He also has himself up and, on his feet, so he in front of you, yelling now.
You’re shocked, you two talked before it happened, granted it wasn’t a long talk but you thought it was enough.
“I’m sorry O, I know that couldn’t have been fun but I thought our conversation before helped.” Owen’s eyes soften at your words, he wasn’t mad at you and he didn’t mean to take it out on you.
He moves to sit next to you on the couch, a little calmer now that he has you in front of him instead of him left alone with his intrusive thoughts.
With a huff and a hand moving through his hair, Owen goes to speak, ‘I know, I know. I’m sorry love, it’s not your fault and you’re right we did talk about it before. I trust you and Charlie completely and know it was nothing but professional.”
You move closer to him, taking his hand in yours. This gets him to look up at you, finally looking you in the eyes. “Then what is it?” You still don’t understand his outburst.
“It’s just…” He trails off, embarrassed of the words that were about to leave him, “the fans already ship Luke and Tatum from the teasers, so they’re starting to make comments about how you guys would look good together so it’s just hard to see.”
Your eyes widen at his words not expecting his confession. “Plus everyone already talks about how attractive Charlie is, it just makes me insecure.”
Your heart breaks slightly as his words, you lean in closer to Owen and put your hand behind his neck not letting him look anywhere but you. “Owen Patrick Joyner, you are without a doubt the most handsome man I have ever laid my eyes on! Every day I look at you and just wonder how lucky I am that I somehow got you!”
Owen doesn’t say a word, he just presses his lips against yours. You enjoy the feeling of his lips on yours.
You’re the one to pull apart, “Besides O, they don’t know we’re dating, I bet if they did things would be different.” You wiggle your eyebrows at your words,  causing Owen to laugh.
“That is a fair point.”  He says.
“I’m glad you agree because  I think so too!” You laugh and press your lips against his again. The feeling of his lips was one you would never get tired of.
“Does that mean we’re going public?” He asks while placing kisses all across your face, making you laugh.
“I think it does Joyner, I think it does.”
The two of you spend the next few minutes looking through your photos trying to figure out which one to post. You finally land on a picture Charlie had taken of the two of you one day, Owen was sitting on their counter and has his arms wrapped around you while you were between his two legs. You were leaning up for a kiss and Owen was laughing, it was one of your favorite photos.
You posted it on your story, tagging him and with the caption surprise. Owen then shared it to his own story with hearts added onto it.
Both of your dm’s were quickly flooded by fans with their congratulations and excitement. One particularly stood out to Owen, it read “I told everyone, you guys were end game it was never Y/N and Charlie.” A smile makes its way onto his face.
“See I told you that they would like us together.” You look over his shoulder and up at him smiling.
“I guess you’re right.”
The two of you lean in and meet in the middle for a passionate kiss, the both of you were happy to finally be able to be public with your relationship. All of Owen’s insecurities fading away too, happy that he had his girl who loved him so much.

So Needy - Owen Joyner x Reader (18+)
Tumblr media
Warnings: Swearing, slight smut but not really. Topic of sex talked throughout
Word Count: 1.8k
A/N: I’ve never written anything like this so it’s probably really bad and really crap but I wanted to give it a try.😂 hope I did this story justice and Hope you like it!
“Stop!” You laugh as you scoot up on your bed, trying to get away from your very lovely and very horny boyfriend. He holds you down as you try to break out from his tickle hold.
“One kiss, and I’ll let you go. Promise.” He laughs, keeping his position over you.
“Fine, just one.” “Just one, and i'll be happy.”  He begins to lean in and you decide to tease him a little bit. You quickly move your face from his lips. He holds for a second before leaning back up fixating his eyes on yours. You smile a little knowing exactly what you just did to him. Owen has never been one for PDA but behind closed doors it’s actually a big pet peeve of his for you to deny his kisses. Especially, when he’s been on set all day and all he wants is to feel your touch.
He smirks before licking his lips. “Why do you always insist on doing this to me?” “Doing what?” You say innocently before giggling. “Oh you think this is funny?” He brings his hand up to your neck applying a bit of pressure causing you to moan. You hold on to the hand on your neck. “Very.” He leans in to kiss you again. This time you don’t move away. Excited for what was about to come.
Tumblr media
Owen lays on his back as you stay straddling him. You lean forward so that you're fully laying on him now. “Mmm, I should do that more often if thats what will come of it.” He brushes the hair out of your face looking into your eyes softly. He cups your face brushing his thumb over your cheek. “Baby, all you had to do was ask.” He leans in and leaves a longing kiss on your lips. “Ready for round 2?”
You get up from your spot on his chest and laugh a little. “Can we take a minute, my vagina needs to recuperate.” Earning a cocky smile from Owen.
“So, I’m that good, huh?” He says sliding his hands to your ass. You roll your eyes at him, wanting to bring him off his high horse a little bit. You decide to mess with him, saying the four words you know always gets him a bit riled up. You move his hands away from you butt, lifting your leg off him to lay beside him.
“Gosh, you're so needy.”
He jolts up quickly and looks at you confused. “Me! Needy?! Oh come on y/n, I know you wanted it just as much as I did with all that noise you were making in my ear. We both know who's the needy one out of both of us.” You sit up now facing him.
“Yeah, and we just established that it's you. Mr. “Ready for round 2” even though we just finished. Sounds pretty needy to me.” He laughs a little before speaking.
“You're messing with me right? You're way needier than me. Don’t forget yesterday when you were trying to jump my bones before I even got into the apartment. I hands down could go longer without sex than you”
You  smiled, you loved seeing him get all worked up. “Wanna put your money where your mouth is, Joyner? I can tell you right now you wont be able to last 2 days without trying to have sex with me.”
“So we're doing this? Alright, bring it on baby” He says shaking his head, smiling as if he’s already won.
“Wipe that smile off your face Joyner, you're gonna lose.” You both get off the bed to clean yourselves and get dressed to have dinner.
Tumblr media
Owen walks into the kitchen and sits at the table as you grab the food from your postmates. You hand him his food and begin eating. “Okay, so let’s talk ground rules.” Owen looks up to you puzzled. “Oh, did someone forget our bet? I mean you can call it quits now and just admit you're the needy one in this relationship.”
“You wish. Hit me.”
“Okay, rule 1. No sex, oral included.  Rule 2, It counts as sex upon entry. So, touching over clothes doesn't count. And finally, Rule 3, Since I know we both would probably go insane if we couldn’t even kiss each other, Kissing and making out don’t count as a loss and are acceptable at any time.”
Owen nods his head signaling he very much agrees. “Yup good call y/n.”
“HOWEVER! If that kiss and or make out were to lead to sex then whoever initiated the kiss and or make out loses.” You tilt your head to him. “Sound fair?”
“Sounds fair to me. Ahh you're so going down y/n. You can't resist all this.” He gestures to himself. You laugh reaching your hand out and he follows. You both shake hands not knowing just how hard this was gonna be.
“Alright Joyner, Game on.”
“Do your worst baby.”
Tumblr media
Neither of yall realized just how hard this was going to be. Yall were on day 4 and it felt like day 100. Yall have been having sex since yall first got together so theres no surprise that both of yall almost slipped up and lost within the first 2 days.
The first time was you. And Owen thought he had it in the bag but he opened his mouth right as the deed was about to be done.
He had just gotten off set and he was sending you rather dirty texts throughout the day, knowing that this is one of the biggest things that turns you on. So, he wasn’t shocked when he sat on the couch next to you and he saw your leg bouncing as you were biting your lip trying to stay focused on the show you were watching. And you were doing just fine until he grabbed onto your thigh knowing that it drove you crazy.
You practically jumped on him and grabbed hold on his face and started placing rough kisses on his lips. He fell right into the rhythm you had set. You started reaching for his belt buckle and he allows you to take full control. You pull away from the kiss trying to get his pants off. He starts laughing and it throws you off at first but you continue.
“Yeah y/n, just like that. Keep doing what you're doing.”
You got off him quickly. “Fuck! Why did I have to open my fucking mouth?!”
Tumblr media
This time. It was Owen. And it was so so close. Owen was pretty frustrated and when Owen gets frustrated he gets horny and needs to take his frustration out on something. And lucky for you, you were just the anecdote he was looking for today. You were rubbing his shoulders as he sat at his desk, when he pulled you into his lap and he started kissing every part of your face. He lifted you up and threw you onto the bed. He took his shirt off before climbing over to hover on you.
He leaned down and instantly started attacking your lips. He began grinding his body into yours. A feeling that felt almost like home. You reached your hand up onto his shoulder before sliding it to the back of his head. Tangling your hand into his long blonde hair. You pull his head back earning a moan from his mouth. Oh how you loved hearing these sounds fall from his lips. You pulled a little harder earning another loud, deep moan. This felt right. The man you loved being a whimpering mess for you.
It was almost as if the last pull triggered something. He stopped his movements all together.
“Ohhh you almost had me there y/n. Soo close.”
You were beginning to regret this bet real quick. All you wanted was to be close to and  held by the man who made you feel safe. You got off the bed and didn’t even acknowledge Owens' comment. You groaned and walked out of your shared room. Owen watched you as you left and immediately knew that this bet was getting to you because it was getting to him too.
He walked into the Livingroom to see you buried into your phone. He walks over and sits next to you on the couch. “So…” He stares at you hoping to see you look at him but that fails. He tries again, “Whatcha doing?”
You finally look to him. “I'm reading.”
“Ohhh, whatcha reading?” He walks over to the fridge and pulls out a water.
“Fanfiction.”
He chokes a bit and scrunches his face in confusion. He walks back over to you. “Fanfiction? You're reading fanfiction?” You nod.
“And why are you reading fanfiction?”
“I read it when I’m feeling… aroused and you're not here. And well, since I can’t have sex with you, I’ll just read about it. You should be proud, you have some very talented writers following you.”
“But baby, I’m right here. Why read it when you can do it?”  He sits back down next to you and grabs your hand and slides it down his shirtless chest. His voice gets darker, “Why read about touching me? When you can touch me?” He takes your hand and places it behind his head hinting for you to pull his hair. “Why read about pulling my hair? When you can just pull it?” You couldn’t help but stare at his lips, but neither could Owen. He leans closer to you, leaving your lips only barely touching. You feel his breath against your lips and you almost give in before he starts speaking again slowly.
“Why read about kissing me when…” He kisses your lips and you melt into his touch. You both fall into the rhythm of the kiss before he pulls away and pulls your shirt and bra off.
“Oh fuck the bet.”
He hungrily attacks your neck. He wastes no time and pulls down his pants while you do the same. You bring him back down and tangle your hand in his hair as he lines himself up with your entrance. With one more kiss, he enters you causing you to moan. You’ve missed this feeling. Being fully connected and having your bodies intertwined with each other. You arch your back, meeting his thrusts.
He finds his way to your lips again and you pause for a second. You bring your hand up and slide your finger down his bottom lips. You look up to him and see he’s already staring. Your mouth ghosts over his.
“I told you, you were needy..”

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
The humid summer night in Toronto made Owen readjust his shirt, feeling how the fabric was sticking to his skin, but he couldn’t complain. After all, the temperature finally cooled down when the evening came, giving the couple a much-needed break from the heat.
“Are you okay, baby?” Y/N asked when she noticed his boyfriend run his fingers through his hair in a nervous gesture.
“Yeah, I’m just getting all sweaty,” he answered reassuring his girlfriend, “did Charlie send you the address?”
“He did, we’re a few blocks away.” The girl showed him the map on her phone screen and Owen nodded, locking just their pinkies, so their hands wouldn’t get sweaty as they walked to their destination.
“Where are we going anyway?” Owen asked again, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
“Charlie said it was one of his best mates’ place,” she commented swinging their hands to ease the blonde guy, “I’m sure we’re gonna have a good time, and if we’re not, when can always leave.”
“You’re right,” Owen sighed and leaned to kiss his girlfriend’s forehead.
“I’m always right, Joyner” Y/N bragged, sticking her tongue out to mess with Owen.
“Don’t get too cocky, babe,” he warned with a smirk, “you might regret it later.”
Charlie welcomed the couple inside and introduced them to the rest of the group, too many names Y/N couldn’t remember.
“You guys want something to drink? A beer?” Charlie questioned pointing to the kitchen.
“I’m not sure if we should-” his friend interrupted him quickly.
“If you want a beer it’s okay, you know you can drink here,” Y/N saw her boyfriend nod slowly at his friend’s words, probably remembering that the legal age for drinking here was 19 and not 21.
“I’ll have a beer,” she said.
“Save the beer for later!” One of Charlie’s friends chirped, putting his arm over his shoulders, “we’re doing shots first, guys.”
Y/N raised her eyebrows in shock, but when she turned to see her boyfriend, he winked at her and whispered: “You’re done.”
What was supposed to be one shot of vodka, turned into three, probably four if Owen hadn’t spilled his before the glass could touch his lips.
“Owen is wasted!” Charlie sang with a laugh, “and here we thought little Y/N was gonna be the drunkest out of you two.”
“Oh c’mon!” she huffed and raised her glass, “you need to have a little more faith in me, Gillespie.”
“It’s not fair, she’s been drinking water,” Owen whined and filled his glass again with the clear liquid.
“You gotta stay hydrated, baby,” she winked at him and threw her head back, letting the alcohol make its way down with a slight burn on her throat.
“So guys,” the guy she vaguely remembered introducing himself as Nathan, started saying, “we have a little tradition.”
“If you tell me I have to do one more I don’t think I’m gonna be standing for much longer, mate,” Owen deadpanned, making the group laugh.
“Don’t worry, Owen, you don’t have to drink” Charlie patted his best friend’s shoulder and smirked, “but you do have to sing.”
Nathan handed him a mic and asked him what song he wanted to sing. To her surprise, instead of choosing a song from one of his favorite Broadway shows like he always did, he went with a Justin Timberlake classic.
“I’m bringing sexy back,” he sang getting into character so naturally, she knew his boyfriend was born to be a star, “them other boy don’t know how to act,” Charlie faked a gasp when Owen pointed at him as he sang the next verse.
Owen loved to see the bright smile on Y/N’s face as he sang and danced, making sure to give the people a good show, but most important, one that’d make his lovely girlfriend put a lot more effort into her show.
“You see these shackles baby I’m your slave,” the blonde boy made sure to sing that line directly to Y/n’s face, loving the way she looked around all flustered and embarrassed.
“Take it to the chorus,” Charlie joined him, helping out his best friend with the background vocals. They were a complete mess together, and anyone could see it when they started singing the chorus together.
“Okay, that was one hell of a good show, guys,” Nathan said and turned to Y/N, “but I’m afraid we have to move to our next competitor, miss Y/N!”
“You said it was a tradition, not a competition,” Y/N accused him but received the mic he was holding out for her.
“It’s a traditional competition.”
Owen kissed her cheek when she passed him and grazed her hand. “I already won, babe,” he whispered.
Unlike Owen and Charlie, she wasn’t the type of person to put on a show, sure she liked having fun, but he knew she’ll be embarrassed even if she did great. And he smiled when he heard her song choice. It was a bold choice.
The girl singing in front of him, with so much confidence and not a care in the world, was a view he wished to remember his entire life. And when she reached the chorus, he knew he was done, he knew he was head over heels for her.
“Yeah you make me feel like, I’ve been locked out of heaven, for too long,” Y/N sang softly sitting on his lap, “for too long.” she finished, and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
“That was perfect, babe,” Owen kissed her cheek and felt the heat on her cheeks.
“As much as I love Bruno Mars, we gotta give this round to Owen,” Nathan announced, and she shook her head in disappointment.
“I told ya,” Owen bragged, leaving a sweet kiss on her cheek, “you had fun, didn’t you?”
She turned her head to focus her attention on her boyfriend and nodded, his eyes were glossy due to the alcohol in his blood, and she was sure hers were just the same.
“I did, baby,” Y/N said with a grin, “now let’s go and have fun.”
They spent the night laughing and playing random games with their new friends, enjoying the last night they were spending in Canada before going back to Oklahoma. Owen smiled softly at the girl leaning on his shoulder.
“I think it’s time for us to go back to our hotel,” he mentioned, getting up to say goodbye. He held a hand out for Y/N, and she took it gladly.
“Thanks for having us, guys,” the girl smiled politely at the group, “I really had a great night.”
“Thanks for coming,” one of the girls in the group told her with a beaming smile, “if you ever come back, let me know, so we can hang out.”
“Sure, I’d invite you to Oklahoma, but there’s not much to do,” she admitted scrunching her nose just a little.
Y/N threw herself in bed with an exhausted sigh. Owen helped her take off her shoes and joined her. She wasn’t even drunk now, but she felt so tired she couldn’t keep both of her eyes open at the same time.
“Shit, I don’t wanna move,” she mumbled, burying her face into her boyfriend’s shoulder.
“Yeah, me neither,” he wrapped his arms around Y/N and pulled her closer to his body. “Did I tell you I love you?”
“Every day, baby,” she smiled with her eyes closed, “I love you too.”
“No, but I realized I’m seriously in love with you,” Y/N propped herself up, resting her chin in his chest, and smiled at his words, “when you were singing I couldn’t help but think how fucking lucky I am.”
“You’re the best, Owen,” she admitted, “I feel the same about you, but can’t we talk about this in the morning? I’m fucking tired right now.”
He laughed at her sincerity and nodded in agreement. With a last kiss on Y/N’s forehead, he pulled her closer and closed his eyes, ready to sleep. If having to sleep with his jeans on meant he could sleep holding his girlfriend, he’d do it every time he could.
“I really miss my Bindi,” he confessed in a whisper.
“I miss her too, now go to sleep.”

“Is that your boyfriend?” one of your teammates asked, pointing to the black-haired boy in the stands, holding up a sign and cheering probably louder than half of the people in the gymnasium.
“Yep,” you nodded with a chuckle. “That’s him,”
“Well just make sure he doesn’t distract you,” they joked, passing you the basketball allowing you to warm up with some dribbling exercises.
“Yeah let’s hope it doesn’t throw me off my game,”
Thankfully Reggie’s loud cheering and hand gestures were not enough to distract you, having had plenty of experience with that when your mother would come watch your games when you were younger.
The game was a close match throughout, your team managing to break the tie within the last minutes of the game along with the help of a foul shot.
Your coach all rounded you up to congratulate you in the end and reminded you of the next practice, then you finally had the chance to meet with your boyfriend in the stands, sitting down and opening a bottle of water, take a large sip.
“(Y/N) you were awesome!” he exclaimed.
“Really?” you chuckled.
“I mean I was a little lost with some of the calls it’s been a while since I’ve played, but you were so good on defence and those plays you pulled on the wings, I swear you got at least four layups,” he nodded vehemently.
“You’re too sweet,” you nudged him lightly in the arm.
“And I’m really proud of you, I mean I remember you were so afraid to try out for the team, but you did and got out of your comfort zone and here you are,”
He rested a hand on your knee and you leaned in, pressing a quick peck to his lips.
“I love you Reg,”
“Love you too, you’re like my little personal Michael Jordan,”
“Okay, I’m definitely not that good,”
“Give it time (N/N), trust me, just give it time,”

|Midnight Memories|- Owen Joyner x Reader
|Pairing|- Owen Patrick Joyner x reader
|Warnings|- mentions of fire (thats all I think)
|Word Count|- 652 (I’m sorry its short)
|Prompt|- ‘It’s two am, we’re standing outside of our apartment building bc someone pulled the fire alarm, and you look cold and unprepared, do you want to share my blanket?’ AU (by @hcpelesshcney on @dailyau)
|a/n|- Hey! How you doin? I should apologise in advance for how tooth rotting sweet this is (kinda). Anyway, just a reminder my requests and tag lists are open!!
Tumblr media
A loud blaring sound caused you to slip out of your slumber. You patted around your night stand for your phone, only to find that the sound wasn’t from it. That’s when it hit you it was the fire alarm. Scared and panicked you grabbed your phone and your history paper you stayed up all night completing. You rushed down the stairs, repeating the fire protocol in your head. When you reached the last floor, you saw some fire trucks and firemen trying to get out people and checking around the building. When you reached the main gate of your apartment complex, a fireman rushed you to the ambulance to get you checked for any injuries. After going through the necessary protocols and steps, you were told to go and join the rest of the people from the building. That’s when you realised you were only in a pair of boy shorts and an oversize t-shirt , on a cold autumn night. You joined the group of residents you knew and smiled politely at them. You crossed your arms trying to conceal some warmth. “hey you okay?”, a voice asked. You turned towards owner of the voice and saw it was the cute blonde guy who lived on the same floor as you. He was wrapped head to toe in a blanket. And I brought my history paper, nice going y/n, you thought to yourself.
From what you had heard, he was an actor and was part of a lot of shows on Nick and a Netflix production. “Yeah I’m fine”, you said giving him a polite smile.
“You’re shivering”
“It’s cold and I was too panicked to search for a sweater”, you said yawning tiredly. “You could share with me if you want.”
You scrunched you eyebrows at him trying to read his intentions. His eyes widen in realisation, “OH! That sounded weird. Let me rephrase that, It’s two am, we’re standing outside of our apartment building because someone pulled the fire alarm, and you look cold and unprepared, do you want to share my blanket?” You nodded slowly and stepped towards him. He opened his arms and wrapped them around your shoulders. You held your history report and phone to your chest and looked up at him. “Better now?”, he asked his eyes shining under the moonlight. You hummed and smiled at him. “I’m Owen by the way.” “y/n”
He repeated your name under his breath as if testing how it sounded and smiled. “So y/n did you pick up anything important like your phone while rushing out or…?” “Oh I did”, you held up your phone showing it to him, “That and my history report due tomorrow”. Owen saw the report on in your hand and chuckled. “Wow I really don’t know what to say”
‘hey!”, you said feigning offence, “this took me all day to finish. It values more than my life as 60 percent of my grade depends on this”
“Oh then this should be hidden from the greedy and malicious eyes”, Owen teased, still smiling. You chuckled at him and placed your forehead on his shoulder. You report clutched to your chest was the only distance between the two of you.
“hey y/n?”, Owen spoke after a while. You hummed, and repositioned you head on his shoulder. “Would you like to go out for a coffee with me after this?” you lifted you head from his shoulder and looked at him in shock. Owen was biting his lower lip, waiting in anticipation.
“I would love to”. The two of you shared a smile and Owen tighten his grip around your shoulders. The history report which was previously between the two of you was now clutched in you hand to the side and the two of you stood there hugging each other. Despite the cold weather, this was the warmest you’ve felt in a very long time.

How in the holy hell did she end up here? Here. In Savannah’s closet, kissing one of her best friends whom she’d had a crush on for weeks now. Kissing Owen Joyner. It was only this morning they were still bullying each other playfully during dance training. It was only a month ago the two had met.
A month ago she got the call from her agent that she got the gig. She was going to be in a Kenny Ortega production. A freaking Kenny Ortega production. After being a fan of his work since she was literally a child, she finally got the honor to work with him on a project. Albeit as more of an extra, but still.
A member of popular girl Carrie Wilson’s band. Dirty Candy singer #3. Member of Dirty Candy. No matter how she put it, it still all seemed so surreal.
The first day of bootcamp, y/n was extremely nervous. This was her first ever project and she wanted to do it right. This was something so close to her heart as she, herself, had lost her mom and lost the love to dance and sing for a while too until she found the strength again through friends and family.
Besides, getting to play a mean girl did seem a lot of fun.
“Oh, hey,” a girl greeted. She had long blonde hair that cascaded into curls down her neck and shoulders, and big brown bambi eyes twinkling at her. “I’m Savannah. You’re a Dirty Candy member?” she introduced herself and asked you, in one go.
“Uh, yeah! I’m member number three,” she chuckled awkwardly before reaching out her hand towards her. “I’m y/n,” she said with a smile that reached her ears. Savannah looked at her hand and then grabbed it, and pulled her in for a hug.
A surprised shriek arose from member number three before she wrapped her arms around the 5 foot something specimen that clung to her for a while.
“I can’t wait to get started!” Savannah clapped her hands excitedly when she had pulled away from the hug.
As time went by, a lot more people filed into the room. Some of them y/n recognized, like Jeremy Shada, but also some of the fellow dancers seemed very familiar. Probably from dance classes back in High School or College, she thought.
“Okay, let’s get this started!” A man of medium-build with a baseball cap on his head and a smile on his face clapped his hands, and rubbed them together as if planning some sort of scheme. “I’m Paul Becker, I’m the choreographer and along with Tori and Louise, my assistants, I’ll be getting you prepped for all dance rehearsals.” He pointed at the two girls on the first row. One of which y/n knew from college, Tori. A petite brown girl who was so sweet and kind, and a masterpiece of motion. Y/N remembered how she always outshone everyone in class.
Kenny Ortega stood next to Paul, smiling at the group of talent he’d accumulated, and said, “We’re just gonna start with some icebreaker games today to get to know each other better and then really get to work.” Y/N glanced around the room to check if she was the only one that seemed nervous. Halfway through the room, she made eye contact with a tall blonde boy with what she thought was the most adorable smile ever. She shot him a smile back before focusing on Kenny again. “I’m assuming not everyone knows each other’s names yet, so I suggest we start with the name game?” he looked at Paul, who gave a nod of assent.
“Let’s all sit down in a big circle,” Paul said, rotating his finger to indicate the circle. Savannah, standing closest to Y/N, grabbed the girl’s hand and brought her closer to the rest of the group before they both sat down, along with the others.
“The premise is to remember everyone else’s name,” Kenny began, “So, for example. I’ll start and say Kenny, then Paul, who’s sitting next to me goes ‘Kenny, Paul’, then Tori has to go ‘Kenny, Paul, Tori,’ and so on and so forth. Got it?” All participants nodded their heads.
A groan is heard from the other side of the circle, “I’m gonna have to remember so many names!” The blonde guy with the cute smile from earlier whined. The group burst out laughing at his annoyance.
“Well, let’s hope you remember the names better than the lyrics to your audition song, huh, Owen?” Kenny retorted teasingly, sending the rest of the group into another fit of laughter as the blonde boy glared at the director.
Y/N made a mental note to remember his name. Owen. When she looked at him at that moment, she recognized him from somewhere, but couldn’t put her finger on where or how.
“Okay, so, I’ll start,” Kenny said and repeated his name.
“Kenny, Paul,” Paul said, then looked at the girl next to him.
“Kenny, Paul, Tori.” Everyone then averted their eyes to the blonde girl sitting next to Tori.
“Kenny, Paul, Tori, Louise.” Everyone’s eyes then went to the girl sitting on y/n’s right, who she’d met before.
“Kenny, Paul, Tori, Louise, Savannah.”
Her heart beated faster as everyone’s eyes were focused on her as she repeated the names, “Kenny, Paul, Tori, Louise, Savannah, y/n.”
She looked around the circle with a smile as the girl next to her continued. Her eyes stopped at Owen, who was looking at her too with a tender smile on his face. Instead of simply shooting a smile back, she mimed “Pay attention”. His shoulders jolted from the soft chuckle that came through before he focused on the next person.
The game went on for a while until it reached Owen. Y/N could tell from the look in his eyes that he was struggling to remember them all. There were a lot of names to remember, that’s true, but y/n thought it was pretty simple to remember.
“Kenny, Paul, Tori, Louise, Savannah, y/n,” he halted his gaze on her for a split second before continuing, “Sacha, Jadah, uhm…” His eyes flicked back to y/n, begging for help. She started mouthing the names along, and even though he couldn’t really lipread, the help was welcome. “Kyra, Halle, Jeremy, Madison, Owen.”
Of course, he knew the last two people before him, but Kyra and Halle seemed difficult names for him to remember.
“That wasn’t so hard, now, was it?” the boy next to him slapped him on the shoulder as the group burst out into laughter. Owen, however, couldn’t help but smile as he looked at y/n.
“Yeah, it wasn’t that bad,” he mumbled and shot her a thankful wink.
Charlie then ended the circle, and though Kenny wanted to go around the circle once more, the contradictory moans and complaints made him finish the game and tell everyone to get up off the floor. Paul grabbed a rope from the ground near the wall-covering mirror and handed one end to Kenny. The latter looked around the room for a second before calling out y/n’s name, beckoning her to come over. Confused and a little embarrassed, she walked over to the director.
“You’re about the average height of everyone here, so we need your waist,” he told her, chuckling. The soft caress of his hand on her shoulder made her calm down a little as he guided her to the middle of the room. Paul and Kenny then secured the rope at the height of her waist. One side on the barre, the other on a hook in the wall. “I’m gonna split you into two groups and make it a competition,” he then said and looked around the room to see who could make a great team.
“Let’s do Dirty Candy against Julie and The Phantoms?” Paul suggested, “Jadah with the Phantoms team and Sacha with the Dirty Candy team? And Louise can join the Phantoms team too, to balance it out.” Kenny let his eyes wander over the two groups as they scattered towards each other.
“Yep, I like that,” he then said and clapped his hands. “Premise of this game is to get across the rope together. There’s no going under it, it’s not a game limbo dancing. Okay? You gotta brainstorm and get across using teamwork.”
“What does the winner get?” Owen asked, a smirk playing on his lips as he and his team huddled together on one side of the rope, closest to the mirror.
“If Team Dirty Candy wins, they get to see your audition tape,” Kenny promised, immediately wiping off the smirk on Owen’s face as everyone on team Dirty Candy cheered and giggled. “If Team Phantoms wins…”
A boost of confidence rushed through y/n as she exclaimed, “No need for that, Kenny. Team Dirty Candy is gonna win!” Sacha and Halle lifted their hands, so y/n hit hers against them in high fives.
The director laughed at that while Owen kissed his teeth, an amused smirk playing at his lips. “We’ll see about that,” he said. “Kenny, what’s in it for us?” The director’s eyes darted from y/n to Owen and back, picking up on the connection that had formed between them with just non-verbal communication.
“What would you say if I could get into possession of home videos from when y/n was younger.” Y/N’s eyes widened at this. She had almost forgotten her parents used to be buddies in college with Kenny, and he and her dad worked together on a couple of projects.
“Yep, okay, you’re going down, Dirty Candy!” said Owen threateningly. “How is that fair, Kenny?!” y/n exclaimed, glaring at Owen as he cackled.
“About as fair as you seeing my audition tape!” he yelled, but still had that amused smile on his face that told her he wasn’t actually mad at her.
She pressed her lips together into a tight line before turning to her team. “We have to win this thing, guys.” All four other Dirty Candy singers and Sacha nodded their heads determinedly, and threateningly turned back to their opposing team.
“You’ve got half an hour to get everyone across. Every time a person touches the rope, everyone who’s already crossed over has to go back,” Paul explained in a stern tone. “Teams ready?” Both teams huddled up into a group, ready to brainstorm quickly. Y/N looked up, locking eyes with Owen straight away. He glared at her as she pointed two fingers at her own eyes, then pointing them to him. “3-2-1… GO!” Paul pressed the timer on his phone as the two teams began frantically discussing.
“I used to be a gymnast,” Kyra started in a hushed tone. “If I can get onto someone’s shoulders, I can summersault my way off?”
“Don’t you need a mat for that on the other side so as to not break your ankles?” Halle asked, her eyebrows knit together in confusion. The gymnast of the group shook her head, and so the discussion continued.
On the other team, Owen was taking the lead in their discussion. He seemed to just have a game plan ready in his mind. There was no way the other team would ever be allowed to see his audition tape. It was way too embarrassing.
“We’re gonna start with Charlie and me on our knees in front of the rope. Louise or Jeremy, one of you is gonna stand on both our knees and hop over. Then, whoever went over is gonna mirror us on the other side, so the next person has to step onto your thigh as they step over. We’re just gonna continue like that until I’m the last one here. I’m able to just jump across.” His teammates looked at him as if he’d just spoken Chinese. Blinking eyes and mouths ajar.
They had five minutes left and on both teams, the second to last person had just gone over. Now, only Owen and Y/N were left standing on their side. Glaring at each other when they noticed this was match point, both of them stepped back for the run-up, and leapt over the rope at exactly the same time.
Their teammates cheered as both teams huddled into a group hug. Kenny and Paul stood on the sidelines, applauding both team’s efforts.
“I think we have a tie,” Kenny announced once the cheering had died down.
“So, what does that mean?” Owen asked, glancing over at y/n anxiously. It would be fairest to have both their prices or no prices at all.
“I think our two team captains can decide that,” Kenny said, pointing at both Owen and y/n, who had started this little war in the first place. “Do you wanna see each other’s videos, or is no one ever gonna see anything at all?”
Y/N and Owen glanced at each other, trying to communicate what each of them were feeling in that very moment. Owen’s eyes searched her face as she bit down on her lip. It wouldn’t be fair for me to see her old family videos. Those are kind of private, he thought.
“I think we’re good,” Owen replied and offered the girl a smile as she nodded her head agreeingly. “This was a fun game, I don’t think it needs a price.”
“Agreed.”
Kenny and Paul told them to take a break before they got to the real dance training. Before y/n could join Savannah to their bags, Owen stopped her with a wide smile plastered on his face.
“Nice job, y/n,” he said, opening his palms and holding them out to her. Y/N hit her hands on his in a double low five as a giggle escaped her lips.
“You too,” she said.
The rest of the day was spent dancing, or at least for Y/N. The first two hours, they had dance training together, but then they were split up into groups again. Y/N had more dance rehearsals with the girls from Dirty Candy while Madison and the boys went to try out some songs they were going to sing on the show.
From that first day on, y/n knew that this wasn’t just going to be a work relationship she was building up with these people. She felt in her stomach that these people were going to become her best friends, her family. And she wouldn’t want to change it for the world.
At the end of bootcamp, y/n was proven absolutely right. They had become the best of friends, and almost like a family. And they had yet to start filming. The next few months were going to be even more fun, especially that final night of bootcamp since Savannah had invited everyone to a sleepover at her place.
Though y/n was half certain Savannah only did it to get her and Owen together, she was still excited about it. The blondie knew y/n had a thing for the tall blonde man ever since the first day, but she hadn’t done anything about it as she wanted to keep it professional.
But of course Savannah didn’t quite agree to that.
The night of the sleepover, Savannah invited a few of the closest people over to her place. She literally went all out on this night. There were bowls of different varieties of chips scattered around tables, stacks of red cups on her kitchen counter, candles and fairy lights everywhere. Though, y/n was kind of apprehensive about the candles being a danger, she didn’t really say anything about it. It wasn’t going to be that kind of night, she thought.
She even got them matching PJ’s. On the backside of six of the white T-shirts was TEAM DIRTY CANDY printed in a bright pink while the other five -- since Louise couldn’t make it -- read TEAM PHANTOMS in purple. She bought pink shorts for the girls on her team, purple ones for the girls on the other. For the boys, she brought grey joggers.
Y/N appreciated the effort Savannah put into tonight. It was something she would do, too. She was a sucker for an over-the-top party and went all out herself on every occasion.
“I made a non-alcoholic Sangria punch for everyone,” she said as she pointed to the large glass bowl on the kitchen counter near the stack of cups. “Who would like some?”
Team Dirty Candy was complete while Team Phantoms missed two people. Two people who were often late for everything. Charlie and Owen. Of course they hadn’t arrived yet. It didn’t surprise y/n very much. Half an hour late. They were half an hour late.
“We’re so sorry,” Charlie apologized to Savannah, “But this one over here was taking so long to get ready.” The brunette boy rolled his eyes as he thought of the dallying of the blonde one next to him.
“You were barely ready when I was,” Owen countered and gladly took the punch-filled cup Savannah handed over before making a beeline towards the others who were gathered on the couches in the living room.
His eyes immediately landed on y/n and his smile grew wider. “Well, look who finally showed his face, Dorian Gray.” His eyebrows knitting together made y/n realize he hadn’t the slightest clue about English Literature. “The Picture of Dorian Gray? No? Never read it?” Owen slowly shook his head as he slid down on the couch next to her. “OK…”
Y/N turned to Jadah, who was sitting next to her, completely ignoring Owen’s confused eyes. “Who the fuck is Dorian Gray?!” he yelled at Charlie, his eyes wide as he grew more and more annoyed.
“Read a book!” Halle and y/n yelled in unison, and Halle even threw a pillow at him, reminiscent of that scene in The Heat where Melissa McCarthy threw a book at Michael McDonald’s face. The two girls fell into a fit of laughter, along with pretty much everyone else but Owen. He was too busy wiping the Sangria punch that had spilled with the impact of the pillow, off his jeans.
“How about we get into our PJ’s and get this party started!” Savannah suggested, followed by an excited whoop. The girls all got up quickly, following behind Savannah while the boys stuck around the living room. They decided they needed to give the girls some privacy and would change after.
“So…” Madison started when they were in Savannah’s bedroom, changing from their cute outfits into even cuter pj’s. “You’re gonna tell Owen how you feel tonight?” she asked y/n, her eyebrows wiggling suggestively up and down.
“Feel about what?” y/n asked as she tucked her Team Dirty Candy shirt into her pink shorts.
“About him!” Jadah exclaimed with wild eyes. “It’s clear you have a massive crush on him, girl!” Y/N looked around the room at the other girls, who were all just nodded their heads in accordance.
Y/N scoffed after a few seconds of silence. She was thinking about confiding in them and telling them the truth, but it was no use. There was no way she and Owen could ever become a thing. She was supposed to be strictly professional as it was her first job.
“I don’t have a crush on Owen,” she stated, grabbed her stuff and left the girls in the bedroom. After neatly folding her jeans and the top she had been wearing that day, and putting it into the backpack she’d taken with her, she made her way into the kitchen for some more punch. All while her mind went crazy.
Sure, she had a definite crush on the blonde actor, but there was no way she was ever going to act up on those feelings. Owen probably didn’t even feel the same way about her anyway. Besides, she promised herself she would focus on her career instead of dabbling into relationships that probably won’t even last.
The girls re-entered the living room at the same moment y/n went back with her full cup of Sangria. “Alright, boys, the bedroom is yours. It’s just around the corner,” Savannah told them, pointing to the door she’d left open.
The four boys got up and, after receiving the pj’s from Savannah, disappeared into the bedroom. The complete quiet returning in the room. It made y/n a little anxious that the girls weren’t even talking. Mostly because she knew what they were thinking. They had told her a bizillion times already.
“You could at least ask him!”
“He might say yes!”
“You should act on your feelings!”
“This is gonna make you crazy!”
She’d responded to that last one with, “If it doesn’t, you ain’t doing it right.” It shut them right up for a while. Until now, it seemed.
“Let’s put some music on and get this party really started!” Tori suggested, hitting her hand against the red cup she was holding, excited to get dancing. Savannah agreed and grabbed her phone from the coffee table, connecting them to the speakers. It didn’t take long after that for music to begin filling up the silence.
Into The Unknown from Frozen II chimed through the room. All the girls gasped. All but one. She cursed at herself for feeling this way and basically being a buzzkill right now. She didn’t want to be this way, but the thoughts about Owen kept consuming her.
“I can hear you but I won't Some look for trouble while others don't There's a thousand reasons I should go about my day And ignore your whispers which I wish would go away, oh Whoa”
Tori and Madi turned to y/n as they sang along with Idina Menzel, trying to convince her to get up and belt the song with them.
“You're not a voice, you're just a ringing in my ear And if I heard you, which I don't, I'm spoken for I fear Everyone I've ever loved is here within these walls I'm sorry, secret siren, but I'm blocking out your calls I've had my adventure, I don't need something new I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you”
The other four girls now sang to y/n as well, in an attempt to persuade her to party along with them. She wanted to, she really did. But y/n wouldn’t be y/n if she wasn’t a little stubborn at first.
“Into the unknown Into the unknown”
Madison reached out her hand, but y/n slapped it away and got up on the sofa, belting out the last line of the chorus while the girls looked at her in awe. They knew she could dance and act, but they had no idea the girl had pipes.
“Into the unknown”
As the girls belted out the rest of the song, the boys walked into the living room again in their Team Phantoms and Team Dirty Candy shirts, stumbling upon the scene of y/n on the sofa and the girls surrounding her as if they were her fans at a concert. All seven of them were singing the song at the top of their lungs.
Owen couldn’t help the smile finding its way to his lips as he watched y/n in her absolute element. Though she be but small, the girl took up a large part of his heart. Ever since they met a month ago, her snarky remarks and her hunch for competition made him fall head over heels in love with her. And as the month went on and they became closer and closer, he kept avoiding asking the one question that was on the tip of his tongue.
For now, being friends was enough for Owen if it meant watching her do stuff like this.
“Are you out there? Do you know me? Can you feel me? Can you show me?”
Charlie’s voice made Owen snap out of his thoughts as he asked, “When are you going to ask her out, man? This whole ‘just friends’ thing is killing you.” Owen sighed at his best friend’s words. It wasn’t that he was wrong as much as he just didn’t like hearing the words out loud.
“I’m fine, Charlie. There’s no way we could ever be together. Y/N is way too professional for that. And she might be right, you know? This is her first gig, if she wants to pursue this acting debacle, she has to be.” Owen didn’t even believe any of the words that rolled off his lips, but it’s what he’d settled on to ease his own mind.
“Not with that attitude,” Jeremy mumbled.
“I just don’t know what to do, okay?” he said and headed over to the concert y/n was giving the girls. The moment he came into her range of vision, she turned to him and sang the very last lines to him, and him alone, causing butterflies to well up in his belly.
“Where are you going? Don't leave me alone How do I follow you Into the unknown?”
“Woah, y/n!” Halle exclaimed as she shook her head in disbelief.
“Yeah! Woah indeed!” Savannah added, “Your voice! Girl!” Y/N chuckled, and grabbed the hem of her pink shorts as though she was wearing a dress and curtsied at the praise.
“Thank you,” she said, and though she was playing it off coolly, her cheeks colored pink.
The next song started to play, which was Golden by Harry Styles, and the other three boys joined the rest of the group. Charlie, Sacha and Tori hopped onto the couch with y/n, belting out the song and sipping from their punch.
This was what the sleepover mostly consisted of; singing along loudly to whatever song was playing, sipping from the punch and munching on the snacks Savannah had laid out for them. For at least an hour, they sang and danced until their feet started to ache. Up to the point where only y/n, Savannah and Madi were left standing. The boys and other girls had taken a seat on the couch, watching the performance they were giving them.
Y/N had enough of their lame asses, so when her favorite One Direction song came on, she made her way over to the couch and took a hold of Owen’s hand first. “Come on, Golden Boy! Sing with me!” Little did she know everyone glanced at each other knowingly upon seeing this.
“If I didn't have you, there would be nothing left The shell of a man that could never be his best If I didn't have you, I'd never see the sun You taught me how to be someone, yeah”
Owen finally caved in and sang along with the girl in front of him, eyes locked and filled with absolute admiration.
“I’m… gonna…” Savannah muttered, but when she realized they didn’t even hear her, she ushered everyone out of the living room and into the kitchen, leaving the two alone in hopes they would confess their undeniable love for each other.
The boy twirled her around a few times, making her giggle before they fell into song again, making up some moves as they went. Neither of them even noticed the rest of the group was gone and watching them from the kitchen.
“Anyone wanna bet nothing’s gonna happen?” Sacha muttered and frustratedly sipped his drink. He’d seen the way y/n looked at Owen that first day and just knew something would blossom between them. Everyone could see it. The sparks were ignited that very first day, and now they were just waiting for them to fan the sparks into a flame.
“If I didn't have you there would be nothing left”
Y/N reached her half empty red cup towards Owen like a microphone as he echoed part of the line. His green eyes never left y/n’s face. It almost felt reminiscent of the way Madison and Charlie sang at bootcamp as Julie and Luke.
“Nothing left”
“The shell of a man who could never be his best”
“Be his best”
“If I didn't have you, I'd never see the sun”
“See the sun”
“You taught me how to be someone
Yeah”
“I’ll give you ten dollars if Owen doesn’t stop at the end of the song when y/n hits those high notes,” Charlie told Sacha. The latter nodded his head in confirmation of the deal.
At the end of the song, during the very last chorus, Owen had to stop singing in awe of y/n’s voice as she hit the high notes Harry Styles reverberated in between the other boys’ voices. She had the most unique voice he had ever heard. It had a bit of a rasp to it, and it quickly became his favorite sound in the whole world.
Charlie chuckled, shaking his head at the couple as he exclaimed, “Called it!” and held his hand out for Sacha to give him the ten dollars. The blonde guy gave the older one a puzzled look. “I said I’ll give you a tenner if he didn’t stop. But he did, so. Hand it over, buddy.”
Sacha rolled his eyes but went to grab the last ten bucks from his wallet and handed it to Charlie who happily socked it away.
Another song started playing, making y/n gasp as her eyes averted from Owen’s to the kitchen where the rest of her friends were seated, watching the entire scene. “Tori! Do you remember the choreo to this one?!” she shrieked out. Tori offered the rest an apologetic smile before joining y/n in the living room and getting into the steps with her while Owen staggered into the kitchen.
Madison and Savannah exchanged glances, deciding to put their mischievous plan in motion with a simple nod of the head. “Alright! Let’s play truth or dare!” Savannah called out and beckoned everyone into the living room where y/n and Tori whined at the disruption of their dance.
“Oh, shut up, you guys do that dance almost every day in rehearsal!” Kyra countered while she jumped over the back of the couch. With a chuckle, Tori and y/n joined the others on the couch. Tori took a seat next Jadah while y/n went to sit on the end of the U-shaped couch, next to Owen.
“I’ll start!” Madi shouted, raising her hand. “Jadah! Truth or dare?” Savannah and Madison agreed to handle it subtly and not get to Owen and y/n straight away.
“Dare,” Jadah replied courageously, a wide smile on her face to show off her pearly white teeth.
“Call one of your contacts in your phone and tell them you had a pregnancy scare,” Madi said as a smirk tugged at one corner of her mouth. Jadah grabbed her phone and opened her contacts. “Just scroll through and we’ll say stop,” Madison added.
“STOP!” Madi and y/n shouted in unison.
Jadah looked up with her eyes wide, “It’s Sarah Jeffrey,” she giggled and pressed the name before putting the device at her ear to listen. A silence fell over the room as they all watched Jadah carry out the dare.
A smile played on y/n’s lips as she watched the young girl talk, but couldn’t help but zone out. She was suddenly incredibly aware of how close she was to Owen. He had one leg tucked under the other as she rested her forearm on his knee, leaning into his body as his arm laid on the back rest behind her. She could feel his heart beating against her ribs and his fingers softly graze her arm every now and again.
“Jadah, your turn,” Savannah said, making y/n realize she had missed that entire conversation. It didn’t seem like Sarah Jeffrey said something too incredulous since everyone seemed to act quite normal. For as far as normal goes in this group.
“Sacha! Truth or dare?”
“Dare!”
“Uhm…” Jadah pursed her lips as she thought. “Try and seduce the person next to you.” Sacha looked to his left, at Jeremy, and then to his right, at Charlie. He thought about it for a moment but turned to Charlie in the end.
“I have too much respect for Carolynn,” he told Jeremy, which made the engaged boy chuckle as he played around with his ring. He definitely missed Care.
Sacha cleared his throat before placing his hand on Charlie’s cheek and forcing the boy to look him in the eyes. Charlie’s smile faltered just before Sacha spoke, “You… Are so beautiful, you made me forget my pickup line.” His voice was hushed, barely above a whisper. Charlie visibly swallowed at the pretty boy in front of him. Before he could register it, Sacha had kissed his own fingers and placed them on Charlie’s lips. The older boy coughed, blinking his eyes rapidly as he turned to the group again.
“Woah-kay! Next!”
The group burst out into laughter until Sacha called out Savannah’s name.
“I’m gonna pick ‘truth’,” she said with a smile, which vanished almost straight away when she got booed. “What? Somebody's gotta pick truth!”
“Who is the sexiest person here?” Sacha asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Easy, all of you,” she uttered, shrugging her shoulders, “Y/N!” She pointed at the girl to her right.
“Let’s go dare,” the unknowing girl answered with a smile as she shifted in Owen’s arms.
“7 minutes in heaven with the person to your right.” The sentence flowed out of her mouth a little too easily. Y/N knew Savannah had done this on purpose, and now she wasn’t sure if she should hate her best friend or be thankful for the little push in the back.
Y/N slowly turned her head to face Owen, only to find out he’s already getting up. Her arm fell from his knee and she tried to keep her balance from the sudden lack of support of her body. He held a hand out to her to help her up, but y/n wasn’t sure if she should do it. This could just about change everything in their dynamique.
“A dare is a dare, y/n,” Madison added innocently, egging the girl on.
The girl inhaled deeply before gently placing her hand in Owen’s and letting him pull her up. Savannah led them towards the closet where they kept their coats, and opened the door for the couple.
All the way down there, y/n’s mind couldn’t stop racing. What was she going to do? Were they actually going to kiss? Or was this his way of telling her in private that he didn’t feel the same? Maybe she should just not give him the chance to say anything and break her heart. Maybe she should just kiss him to have at least experienced having his lips on hers so she could stop daydreaming about it.
The closet door shut behind her, and she was left in the dimly lit cramped space with just a bunch of coats and Owen’s silhouette. Now’s her time to figure out what she should do. Now’s her time to decide.
“We don’t have to if you don’t want to, I--” before Owen could finish his sentence, y/n attacked his lips with hers, pressing them together in a short, but sweet kiss. When she pulled away, she felt a heat rising to her cheeks. His lips taste better than she had ever dreamt of. How was she now supposed to forget about that? This was a terrible idea.
Or at least she thought it was until he took this as permission to go forth with the whole seven minutes in heaven thing their friends wanted them to do. Hell, he wanted them to do it.
He kissed her feverishly, his hands gripping at her waist as he tried to pull her closer and closer, even if that was almost impossible since her body was already pressed against his without any space left for imagination.
She kissed him back as if her life depended on it, her fingers tangling up in his blonde hair. This was something she had fantasized about for a month. Every time they talked, she couldn’t help herself but glance at his lips and wonder what it would feel like to press hers to his. Since that very first day of bootcamp, she knew there was something about him that she couldn’t put her finger on. But now she did. It was an attraction. Pure attraction. The way metal attracts a magnet.
“I’ve wanted to do that since you so confidently told Kenny you were gonna win that game,” he panted, pressing his forehead against hers. “I didn’t think you felt the same.”
“I have had a crush on you since you smiled at me that first day,” y/n admitted, a smile forming on her face as she stared into those beautiful eyes of his. They reflected back in exactly the same way they did after those ice breaking games on day one.
He lifted his head to get a better look at her, raising his eyebrows, “That’s all it took? OK…” Y/N let out an airy laugh as she hit him on the chest playfully. “So, what do you say to a date?”
“Nothing, ‘cause a date can’t speak,” she wittily answered. Owen scoffed and rolled his eyes, but couldn’t withhold a smile reaching his cheeks. “All jokes aside, I think I would say yes to a date.” She reached up and stroked a strand of his hair from his forehead.
“You think?” he asked.
“Mmh, no, I’m pretty sure.”
That just widened Owen’s smile before he dipped down to meet her lips again. A loud uproar was heard from the other side of the door at that moment. The couple in the closet giggled upon hearing this, knowing exactly that their friends had been eavesdropping.
“Can’t believe they set this all up,” y/n said, shaking her head and placing her forehead against Owen’s chest. She inhaled his fresh scent of musk and sandalwood. A calming smell she had come to love.
“Yeah... me neither,” he chuckled, “How did we end up here?”

Breaking the barrier
Tumblr media
Hello to everyone!
This is my first time writing an imagine, and I decided to write one with Owen Joyner. So, if you’re reading this, I apologize if it’s way too cliché or anything in advance
Pairing: Owen Joyner x fem!reader
Word count: 1.1K
Warnings: fluff maybe, at the end. slightly angsty
"I can't believe he gift-wrapped all your stuff!", she exclaimed as he stared at her through his phone, watching her throw her head back with laughter.
"Hey! It's not like I asked for it to happen"
"Yeah Yeah", she snorted as he smiled widely at her.
"Okay, I've got to go now. Talk later?", he asked with hopeful eyes.
"Sure, blondie. Bye!", she said waving at him as she clicked the phone off.
It was difficult really, being in love with someone you knew for so long. But the heart wants what it wants, right?
She sighed and crawled under her covers, her thoughts drifting towards her Blondie, Owen, as she fell asleep in her bed.
The sun shone brightly on her face signaling the start of a new day, but that wasn’t what woke her up. It was her phone’s incessant vibrating as she received text after text from someone,
She groaned and picked up her phone and saw that none other than Owen had texted her. She scrolled through his texts, reading what she could make out from them and occasionally giggling at what he had written. She decided to ring him and watched the smile on his face grow when he picked up.
“I’m going to cut to the chase. How would you, Y/N Y/L/N, like to fly to Vancouver to visit me over the weekend?”
“You aren’t pranking me, right? This is absolutely serious, right?”, she asked him, just to make sure he wasn’t playing around with her.
“No, I’m a hundred percent serious, What do you say?”
She squealed and agreed immediately and in the next half-hour had received her ticket and all the other travel details she needed, since he was flying her out. The next half of her day was spent packing. She spent hours deciding on what to wear, whether he’d like her outfit or not. Everything about this trip revolved around how he felt, and though she knew it was unhealthy, she just couldn’t help it.
The next morning she was on her way to Vancouver, her bags in tow. As she reached the airport, she saw a mop of blond hair and ran toward him. He wrapped his arms around her, his head tucked in the crook of her neck.
“Hi”, he said softly as they broke apart, making her softly giggle.
“Hi yourself”, she said looking into his blue eyes.
They walked back to his car, him babbling all the way about everything that had been happening for the past few months, her laughter ringing in the air occasionally. They made their way to his apartment, where he showed her to his room to get her settled.
“I have to get to set now, unfortunately. Do you want to come along or do you need a little while to settle?”, he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
“No, I’m good to go. Let’s do this!”, she said, clapping her hands together in excitement.
They drove to the set, and she fidgeted uncomfortably as they got off the car.
“Hey”, he said softly, lifting her from her thoughts,” You okay?”
“I’m just scared you know? I’m just your average girl. What if they don’t like me?”
“No one can ever not like you. I promise that. Now shall we, my bestie?”, he asked, holding his arm out for her to take.
She sighed and met his welcoming gaze, as she looped her arm with his and continued walking to the set. He was her best friend, nothing more. She would always be in the friend-zone. The barrier was inevitable. From the time they had got on set, she had been introduced to so many people, she had lost count. Of course, she already knew Savannah who she had met when Owen was on Knight Squad. But she was quick to warm up to the others as well, Charlie, Jeremy, Madison, Jadah, and even Kenny himself. They all welcomed her warmly, making her feel right at home. As the day turned into the night and all the budding actors and actresses were desperate for some form of entertainment, they threw together a small party or get-together as they called it, though it pretty much amounted to a party.
Y/N had on a dress that she borrowed from Savannah for the night as she wove her way through the clumps of people gathered at their apartment. As she finally spotted Owen, she made her way to the couch where he was seated only to find him cozying up to some random girl. He made her laugh and she had her hand on his thigh, his own arm draped across her shoulders as she leaned into him. Y/N stopped short, her eyes welling up at the sight. It was painfully obvious how much she was in love with him, but he saw her as nothing more than a friend, the barrier was built too strong.
Before any of the sobs could break out, she ran to the bathroom. Hot tears spilled down her cheeks, leaving streaks. Sob after sob racked her body as she shook and trembled. A knock sounded on the bathroom door. She counted to ten before opening the door. She was immediately met with the blue eyes of none other than Owen himself. He reached out for her arm, but she shrunk away.
“Hey, hey, are you okay? What’s wrong, sweetie?”, his soft voice called out as his eyes searched her face.
“Nothing”, she said shortly, ”I’m fine”.
He sighed as she walked past him and back to the party. She found Savannah and a few others she knew and started a conversation with them to distract herself. A few minutes later, Savannah dragged her away and asked her whether she was okay.
“I’m not okay, Sav! I’m not! I’ve been in love with that blond idiot for years now, yet I’m just stuck in the friend-zone. Every time I see him with another girl, it hurts. It hurts so much, that I’ll never be anything more to him”, she let everything out, tears pouring down her cheeks.
“Yeah, what makes you think that I haven’t felt the same?”, he said walking into the room, a frown plastering his usually cheerful face, “I’ve been in love with you for so long. Everything about you is just perfect. The way you laugh, the way you bite your lip when you concentrate, the way you think it’s okay to eat dessert first, the way you read a book in one sitting, and how so many different expressions cross your face throughout the course of the book. Every little thing you do.”
She stepped closer to him and he wrapped his arms around them, their lips meeting in a sweet kiss. They broke apart, their foreheads touching.
“We finally broke the barrier”, he whispered to her.

Truth or Drink
pairing: owen patrick joyner x female reader
summary: y/n gets invited to a party with the jatp boys. everyone decides to play a game similar to truth or dare and things get super steamy between some people.
word count: 1081
Tumblr media
The sound of drunken laughter filled the atmosphere, but not everyone was quite gone - two people were just tipsy, the other three on the verge of blacking out. Charlie, Owen and Booboo were laughing so hard they looked like they were going to pee their pants.
"Hey guys, let's play truth or drink," Charlie slurred.
You and Jeremy were still able to think sensibly, but thought the game would be fun since you'd get to watch the three boys make even bigger fools of themselves.
With a smile you spoke up. "Sure why not?"
Owen went and grabbed an empty tequila bottle that was sitting on his counter, awkwardly jogging back to the center of his apartment to join the circle that had formed.
"We all know the rules," Booboo blurted, "You don't drink or answer a truth, you get booted out of the circle." He grabbed the bottle from Owen, set it on the floor and gave it a spin.
"Okay, Jer, truth or drink," Booboo said to his friend.
"Uh, truth," Jeremy answered.
Charlie leant over to Booboo and whispered in his ear. They both let out a small laugh as Charlie pulled away.
"Is it true that you hated voicing Finn on 'Adventure Time?’"
"Nah," Jeremy stated, "I loved it. You guys know I love being a voice actor!"
Jer grabs the bottle to give it a spin. It slowly came to a stop. All eyes were on you as you chose the safe choice of truth.
"Is it true that you have a crush on Charlie?"
You let out a laugh you didn't know you were holding in. "Nooooo, no no no. Charlie's cute and all, but I couldn't date him. I see him as too much of a brother, so it'd would be weird if I saw him like that."
Charlie looked at you with puckered lips and started making kissing noises. Your only response was a gagging noise with your tongue out and your finger pointing to your mouth.
A few rounds in and no one had picked drink, surprisingly. Charlie spun the bottle, to which it landed on Owen. Owen had slightly started to sober up at this point and noticed that everyone choosing truth was getting boring, so he chose drink.
"Ooooo, we got a risky one here, fellas!" Charlie started rubbing his hands together maniacally. "Drink with y/n."
Your eyes grew wide when you heard your name. All the boys looked at you with wide eyes and the sounds escaping their mouths reminded you of when someone get in trouble at school. Booboo fist bumped Charlie and you shot a terrified look at Jeremy while Owen was grabbing a salt shaker and a lime.
You watched Owen sit back down where he was seated and grabbed the salt shaker and lime from his outstretched hand. You felt like a cat cleaning itself when you licked the back of your hand so the salt would stick. Owen grabbed the other bottle of tequila and you lightly put the lime between your teeth, lips barely touching the citrus. The juice touching your somewhat chapped lips stung a little.
Your heart started to race as Owen scooted towards you, stopping as his knees touched yours. There you both were, sitting crisscross applesauce, filling the space with nerves as well as excitement. The blonde haired boy lightly grabbed your left hand and licked every inch of salt with just one pass of his tongue. His left hand brought the alcohol to his lips and he sipped; neither of you breaking eye contact the whole time since the moment he brought his body towards you.
He looked at your lips that held the last part of the shot, then back up to you. Owen slowly leaned in, closing the gap between you both, forcing you to share oxygen. His lips grazed yours as his teeth sank into the flesh of the lime, the juice getting all over your chin.
As Owen pulled back, his hand held the rind in order for him to suck the juice out of the fruit. You were so intent on watching Owen that you had forgotten to wipe the rogue lime juice off of your chin. Owen notices that it’s dribbling down your skin.
“Let me get that,” he said as he once again forced you both to share air in a tiny space.
You noticed his thumb was adorned with chipped black nail polish, as well as the rest of his nails, when he brought the digit up to your face to wipe away the lime juice.
Instead of Owen pulling his hand back to his body, it lingered around your face; the tips of his fingers lightly brushing against your cheek as he pushed a stand of hair behind your hair. You knew you were blushing because of how hot your cheeks were and by Owen smiling at you harder when he noticed the red flush. He too, was blushing.
“Ah, screw it.”
The hand that had pushed your hair back made full contact with the side of your face and was pulling you closer to the person it was attached to. Owen’s soft lips met yours hungrily, like it had been long awaited. At first you were shocked by the action, but soon gave in and let your body relax. The boy reeked of alcohol, but that was the last thing on your mind right now because the guy you’ve had a crush on for a while is kissing you like a soldier coming home to his wife after a war.
As much as you both didn’t want the kiss to end, you needed air. Owen’s hand still cupped the side of your face and was now rubbing his thumb against your cheek.
“You have no idea how long I have wanted to do that.”
You put your hand on top of Owen’s as he was still caressing your cheek. “And you have no idea how long I’ve waited for you to.”
“Get a room!”
“Ew! Cooties!”
“That’s my boy!”
A mixture of whoops, hollers and gagging sounds were erupting from Charlie, Booboo and Jeremy. Owen flipped them off and went in for another kiss, which you happily accepted, just to spite them. You didn’t care if the boys watched you two have a make-out session because having Owen this close to you, making you feel so happy, was all you ever needed regardless of who sees.

______________________
You didn’t think at this age you would have to be sneaking around with a boy. Let alone sneaking around with a boy because of your older brother Jeremy.
Yet here you are, your back pressed up against the closet that was a part of Julie’s bedroom set. Your hands entangled in the blond hair that was attached to the boy who had his lips pressed up against your neck. Faint gasps of pleasure escaping your lips.
As much as you loved moments like this and loved having the handsome boy’s body pressed against yours, you were hyper aware of the voices and bodies that were around set that sounded like they were making their way towards the two of you.
“Owen...” You do your best to get out but his mouth working wonders on your neck makes it almost impossible.
The voices get closer.
“Owen!” This time you succeed and are able to pull your body from his, “I think people are coming!”
He looks around panicked, now hearing the voices too since he was pulled back to reality.
“Get in the closet.” As the words leave Owen’s mouth, he starts to open the door and push you in.
“What? No?” You tell him trying to hold your ground, “You get in the closet.”
You can tell Owen is trying to hold in his laugh based on the look on his face.
“Y/N, you think they’re not going to think it’s weird if you’re the one that’s just alone in here?” He pauses, “or would it make more sense if they guy who acts on the show is alone in the set they’re going to shoot on later.”
“Ugh fine!” His logic makes sense, so you let him push you into the closet and close the door behind him.
You can’t believe that this is the scenario you got yourself in. You probably could have avoided it if it weren’t for your brother Jeremy, but alas here you were.
“Owen, what are you doing here?” Speak of the devil, the voice belongs to your brother.
“Well I thought the next scene was here but turns out I was wrong; I was just about to leave.”
On the other side of the door you would have witnessed Jeremy, Charlie, and Carolynn all give each other a look, not fulling believing the words that left Owen’s mouth. He had been acting weird lately and they had noticed.
“Anyways, Care what are you doing here?” Owen tried to change the topic of conversation, again it was noted.
“Oh uh, I was going to take Y/N to lunch and then shopping to have a girls day with her! But I can’t find her.”
Carolynn had decided that a girls day for you two would be a good idea, especially after the fight you and Jeremy had gotten in just days prior. The atmosphere around the two siblings was still tense so she was trying to ease the situation.
Your mind flashes back to the fight just days prior.
“Y/N, hello, Y/N,” your brother is waving his hand in front of your face to get your attention, “earth to Y/N.”
His voice snapping you out of your gaze.
“What Jeremy?” You ask frustrated at your brothers antics.
“I was asking you a question but you couldn’t seem to pay attention to anything else except for my friend.” Both you and Jeremy roll your eyes at his words.
“Shut up Jer, I wasn’t starting! I just got lost in my thoughts.” You try brushing off his words, not wanting to get into this with him or expose what truly was going on.
“Well good because the last person you can be with is Owen.”
His words shock you. They even shock Carolynn. You both knew Jeremy was protective but he was never so blatant about something like that.
“Excuse me?”
“I said what I said Y/N, the last person you could be with is one of my best buddies, not happening!”
Again, you’re shocked by him.
“I think I’m old enough to make decisions on who I can and cannot date Jeremy, even if one happens to be a friend of yours.”
At your words, Jeremy has himself on his feet. His anger evident on face. You’ve seen him mad before but not like this. It was weird.
“Seriously Y/N? You don’t get it. You can’t date Owen not only because he’s my friend but because you’ll just get in the way of things and I won’t have you ruining my friendship with him when you get bored of him like you always do with your crushes. So get over it.”
You can feel the tears well up in your eyes at your brothers words. You didn’t realize how low he thought of you.
“Wow Jer. I didn’t realize how badly you thought of me but I guess thanks for letting me know! Just because you’re married doesn’t mean you know everything that has to do with relationships. But thanks.”
With that you’re on your feet, fuming at Jeremy. His face falls at your words, realizing what actually came out of his mouth. Instant regret filling him.
Truth be told, he was just weirded out about the idea of you and Owen together, knowing both of you had a crush on one another. Yet he didn’t know what was already happening between the two of you.
Carolynn’s words pull you from your flashback of the fight.
“Maybe I should just call her?” Panic fills both you and Owen.
“No!” Everyone gives him weird looks due to the outburst, “I actually thought I saw her down by the trailers on my way over here!”
“Oh okay, I guess I will go find her then. Bye guys!” Carolynn leaves them waving to go to try to find you not knowing you were about a foot away from her.
That leaves the three boys together and you still crouched in the closet. All three of them just stand there looking at one another awkwardly.
“Well, they actually need us at the school set so we should get going.” Charlie is the one to break the silence.
Jeremy just nods and follows his lead.
“I’ll be right behind you guys; I lost my phone in here so I have to find it.”
The two boys shared a look, not trusting Owen, but still leaving him on his own.
Once you hear their footsteps fade, you open the closet door and peek around it.
“Have you still not talked to him since your fight the other day?”  Owen reaches out to grab your hand and pulls you in front of him as he sits on the bed.
“Nope, I haven’t. We both have pretty much been avoiding each other.” You shrug your shoulders, “which hasn’t been hard since he leaves early and comes home late.”
All Owen does is nod back to you and moves to stand up and place his lips on yours.
You let him guide your lips for a little longer before you pull away. Your brothers words swirling through your head.
“I just wish he would mind his own business.” You say as you push Owen off of you. He looks at you with sympathy.
“He just loves you and wants to look out for you and based on what you said the fight was about I would say the same for me as well?” He ends his statement with a question not really knowing the answer.
“Besides I get him not wanting his friend to have a friends with benefits relationship with his younger sister.”
Your eyes widen at his words, that hurt. Friends with benefits relationship. Just a benefits relationship. You thought it was more than that.
You pull your hands from Owen and step back to put space between you guys. Owen notices and tries to grab your hands again but you don’t let him.
“Oh just a friends with benefits relationship. You’re right.” Owen can hear the hurt on your voice, his words now ringing in his head.
“Shit Y/N, that’s not what I meant, I...”
“No, Owen you’re right! This is just a benefits relationship so maybe we should just end it now so I don’t have to deal with the attitude from my brother anymore thinking I like you!”
“Y/N, come on.”
He tries to reach for you again but again you step away from him. The tears in your eyes no longer welling but falling freely down your cheeks.
You turn on your heel and book it out of the set, Owen hot on your heels calling your name. But you don’t stop. You keep running through the set, weaving through the people, until you run into a chest.
You look up and through your blurry vision you can see your brother. He immediately wraps his arms around you and you bury your face in his chest, your tears seeping through his shirt.
“What’s the matter Y/N? What’s wrong?” Instead of the frustration you’ve heard from him the last few days, all you hear is worry.
“Y/N!” Owen’s loud voice pulls your head from Jeremy’s chest. He stops when he’s in front of you just a few feet away, looking at the two of you.
Jeremy looks at you and then Owen, his eyes go back and forth for a few seconds before it seems like it all clicked.
Jeremy is pulling you from his body and pushing you to stand to the side of him, next to Carolynn and Charlie who made their way over to you once they saw you crying in his chest.
“What did you do?” Jeremy says through clenched teeth, no one had ever saw him this angry or sound so scary.
“Nothing Jer,” Owen goes to move around your brother but he stops him, “just let me go, I need to talk to her.”
“No, you’re not talking to her, Owen. It looks like you’ve done enough.” The anger still seething through Jeremy.
“You don’t even know what you’re talking about dude, just let me talk to her.” Again he tries to move past him and to you. Carolynn pulls you a little closer to her at his actions.
“I said no Owen. See!” Jeremy turns to look at you and then back at Owen, “I told you this was a bad idea! Now look, you’ve hurt my sister and now I can’t be your friend anymore because all I want to do is punch you now.”
Everyone chuckles a little at Jeremy’s words, even though tensions were high, everyone heard the falter in his voice when he said that because everyone knew Jeremy was the softest person.
“Dude like I said you don’t know what you’re talking about please just let me go so I can talk to her!”
“No Owen, you...” Owen’s voice loud and yelling cuts Jeremy off.
“Dude I love her! I love her okay? And I said something dumb trying to hide it so I wouldn’t complicate anything more between you guys because you were already acting weird at just the idea of us liking one another but I love her and want to be with her.” His voice slowly turns into a whisper at the end. Owen didn’t think this would be the time he would have admitted his feelings for you but it happened.
“What?” Both you and Jeremy at the same time. Everyone was shocked to say the least.
Owen just shyly smiles at everyone, not knowing what to say anymore.
You slowly step away from Carolynn and walk up behind Jeremy to stand next to him. Owen still just a few feet in front of the two of you.
“You said what?” Your shocked at his confession but need to hear him say it again to believe it.
Owen stands and just stares at you for a few second before he makes his way toward you. He stops once he is in front of you, this time when he reaches for your hands you don’t pull away.
The only person that moves is Jeremy so he can turn and face you guys.
“I love you Y/N, and I’m pretty sure I have since the minute you walked through set the first day you got here.” He smiles at you, which you return, “I’ve known for a while now but I got nervous because you were always saying we had to keep us a secret and then I got extra nervous when you told me about the fight so I thought if I just made us a casual thing in my head, I would believe it and my feelings would go away.”
You just look up at him, at a loss for words.
“Obviously that wasn’t the right move.”
You both chuckle at his words.
“I mean it though when I say it Y/N, I love you and I would much rather be in a real relationship than continue with the sneaking around.”
Without another word, you have your arms thrown around Owen’s neck and are pulling him down to have his lips meet yours. It was a short lived kiss because you needed to get how you felt out.
“I love you too Owen.”
Then your lips are back on each other’s, moving together passionately.
“Okay, ew! Gross! Stop that!” Jeremy is the one to make you two pull away, well more force you two as he moves to stand in between you guys.
“I really don’t need to be seeing that.” Everyone laughs at the look on his face and at his words. You shove your hand onto his face and push him away laughing.
“Well you’re going to have to get used to it big bro!” Again everyone is laughing at the look on his face.
“Okay I know this is like a happy thing considering the moments prior but is anyone else curious at how long they were sneaking around without anyone knowing?” Charlie chimes in, shocked that you were actually able to keep it a secret from everyone.
“Well,” you begin, looking at Owen trying to think how long it had been, “I moved in with them 5 months ago so I would say at least 4?”
You weren’t quite sure, the start of the two of you was quite a blur. A real whirlwind romance if you will.
“That sounds about right.” Owen shrugs his shoulders agreeing with you.
“Okay that’s impressive.” Charlie says and again everyone laughs.
“Alright hold on,” now it’s Jeremy’s turn to chime in again, “I don’t know how I feel about all this quite yet,” he says while moving his arms around the two of you, “but Y/N looks happy so I guess it’s fine. But I swear if you hurt her Owen Patrick Joyner, I don’t know what I will do but it will be something!” Jeremy says trying to keep his best stern face.
“Alright slow down there tiger.” Carolynn says, wrapping her arm around his waist and laughing. “I’m sure he will treat her perfectly, won’t you Owen?”
“Of course I will!”
He wraps his arms around your waist to pull you in for a hug and press his lips against yours again.
“Alright I just don’t need to see that okay!” Jeremy is pulling you away from Owen laughing, “And I’m sorry about the other day Y/N. I just got freaked out about the idea but of course I trust you and Owen. I guess now even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have a choice, but I am glad you’re happy that’s all I want for you.”
You wrap your arms around your brother, hugging him tightly. “I know Jer, and I appreciate that. Even if you are an annoying older brother sometimes.”
“Oh shut it, you love me.” He says, ruffling your hair. “Ya, ya, ya. I love you whatever.” You say shoving his arm away.
“Love you too sis!”
“Alright can I have my girlfriend back please?” Owen says pulling you away from Jeremy now.
“Girlfriend? No one here was asked to be a girlfriend.” You say sassily back to Owen, causing everyone to laugh.
Again he is wrapping his arms around your waist to keep you in front of him and looking at him.
“You’re right, my bad! Y/N would you please be my girlfriend?”
A huge smile on both your faces. “I would love to be your girlfriend Owen!”
You lean in to connect your lips to his yet again. Loving the feeling of them on yours, it was one you would never get tired of.
“Hey! What did I say! Gross!”
And you pull apart yet again because of your brothers words.
“Sorry!” Both you and Owen say in sync laughing.
“Ya, ya, whatever!” Jeremy says turning to walk away.
Owen leans down to press a quick kiss on your lips, both of you pull apart smiling. Everything was finally good again; you’ve got your brother and now your boyfriend. Nothing could get better than that.
