Interview Interruption
Tumblr media
Summary: Bakugou is stuck caring for his son after his Owlixx passed out from exhaustion. He's sure his video interview will go smoothly, but his usually silent son has other plans.
Tumblr media
Bakugou stared down at his wife, who passed out after handing him their son. He sighed as he sat on the edge of the bed to roll her over, he didn't trust her to not suffocate herself with the pillow she faceplanted into. She had stayed up caring for their son and watching the news, she watched as a villain severely injured him in battle, which had her staying awake longer until she was sure he was okay when he got out of the hospital.
"Mommy's not too bright, is she Dexter?"
He looked at his son who just smiled up at him after hearing his name. Bakugou smiled back, he never expected to get married or to have a kid when he was younger, but now that he has those things, he wondered what he was thinking back then. Owlixx met him after the Sludge Villain Incident, she wanted to make sure he was alright after he was away from everyone. Months later he found out the girl he couldn't seem to scare away was the daughter of the hero he admired most, she was adopted, but that didn't change anything in his eyes. Years later and he was holding his son for the first time, afraid he'd end up breaking the fragile boy. And now, Bakugou held his 3-month-old son as he walked to his home office where an interview waited for him.
"The interviewer is going to see how good you are, and then so will the country. They'll say you're the cutest baby they've ever seen, bud." Dexter just babbled back at him, Bakugou chuckling as he sat down.
After setting everything up, Bakugou waited, holding Dexter to his chest as he thought. Two nights ago he had fought against a villain with a quirk to reflect attacks. It was long for one of his battles, and in the end, he had ended up severely wounded and the villain got away. He thought while he was in the hospital, he dreamt, or in his case they were nightmares. He felt terrible for causing Owlixx to worry after promising he'd be alright, that he's the reason she's so exhausted.
A ring on his computer snapped him from his thoughts, "Right, the interview."
"Good evening, Mr. Dynamight, sorry to do this at such a late night." The young interviewer's voice sounded after he answered.
"No no, it's fine, the sooner this is done the more time I have to rest."
"Right right, is that your guest?"
"Uhm yes, my son is joining us, I believe last time he was seen by the public or media his hair hadn't started turning blue."
"How adorable! Shall we start?" she tapped on the device she held, most likely where she had all the questions.
"Yes," he nodded, causing Dexter to give a small baby smack to his face, "oi- my face isn't a toy."
The interviewer giggled, "Alright, Dynamight two nights ago you fought one of your longest battles against a villain, what were you feeling during it?"
"Well, I wanted to finish it quickly and go home to my family, but the villain's quirk just wouldn't allow that. I kept thinking up different strategies that might have worked against them."
"You always were one for fast fights, even before you were a father."
"Right."
"You got injured in that battle, anything to say on that? Did the villain overpower you?"
"No, they didn't overpower me." he sighed, ruffling Dexter's hair, "I just got careless, I just wanted to get home and I couldn't do that if I was fighting a villain. My explosion got bounced back at me, I should have used a weaker one, but I didn't and almost ended up dead."
His eyes were closed as he held Dexter as close to himself as he could. The thought of him not being there for his son, for Owlixx...it hurt him worse than any injury he got combined. Bakugou kissed the top of Dexter's head, the boy happily squealing in response.
"O-oh..." she cleared her throat and brushed off what might have been a skirt blocked by the frame, "Well, the villain was caught some blocks away by Deku and Uravity, your thoughts?"
"Normally I'd be upset, but thank god they caught them, I wa-"
Dexter began babbling loudly, causing his dad to stop and stare down at him. The interviewer held back a giggle, placing her device in front of her mouth to hide her smile.
"Daddy's talking, bud, you can tell me your story later."
"Aia!" "Dexter-. Anyways, I was worried my wife would find them before they'd be caught."
"Worried for your wife?" The interviewer tilted her head.
"Nah, worried for the villain. My wife is scary, she may be short, but that's one of the reasons why!"
"Aai! Aiaaia!"
"Does little Dynamight agree with you?"
"Shockingly no, I'm pretty sure he's trying to argue with me right now."
"Aa!" Dexter gave a baby smack to his dad's mouth, causing Bakugou to smile.
"Should we continue then, Dynamight?"
"Of course."
The next morning, Bakugou met his wife in the kitchen, the morning light making his bandages look cleaner than they were. He watched as Owlixx made breakfast using her spider legs, her arms holding Dexter gently. She glanced over at her husband and gave him a soft smile which he returned.
"Morning," Bakugou's hoarse voice broke the almost silence.
"Good morning, Katsuki! Sorry to leave you with Dexter like that..."
"It's fine, I was planning on stealing him away from you anyway." He walked over and kissed her cheek, "It's good you got some rest."
"What about you, huh? You had that interview last night."
"I slept the best I could, though I guess I can't really stop myself from rolling onto the wound and waking myself up."
"Speaking of the wound, I need to change your bandages."
Bakugou grumbled, swiftly and carefully taking his son from his wife and hurrying into the living room. He could hear the "hey" his wife provided as he escaped. Flipping through channels, he found the one the interview was going to be shown on. He couldn't wait, just thinking of how he'd hear Owlixx giggling behind him as she changed the bloody bandages, her breakfast sitting beside his partially eaten one. A small bite to his arm broke his thoughts, the small interview interrupter staring up at him with a smile.
"Little brat."
"The hell did you just call him?!" Owlixx called from the kitchen.
"Oh shit-"

Katsuki's Start
Tumblr media
The Bakugous were known for their strong Pokemon, Mitsuki being a previous member of the nearby Pokemon League and Masaru being the son of a previous champion. So when their son Katsuki was born, people had praised him, even though he had no Pokemon of his own. Katsuki had grown an ego, seeing himself better than others his age, though none had even had their own Pokemon yet. His parents managed to keep him in line at home, though as he grew, it began getting harder to.
After some time talking, Mitsuki and Masaru told their son that he could go explore the fields behind their house as long as he had Masaru’s Kirlia with him. So that’s what Katsuki did, for many days he’d go with Kirlia to the fields, he’d try grabbing a Pokemon that looked strong as Kirlia protected him from anything bigger than what he could grab. He tried battling, but his dad’s Pokemon wouldn’t listen to him, Kirlia listened to the command his trainer gave him instead, “protect Katsuki from other Pokemon”.
One day in the field, Katsuki spotted a few Cyndaquil eating the berries he left the other day. He crouched down in the grass and watched them, thinking of how he could grab one of them, but which would he grab? They all were the same size, all looking the same, or at least they all looked the same until a differently colored one was spotted. Worried, Katsuki was about to call for his mom when he remembered he was only with Kirlia. Without his parents to help, he went to his plan of grabbing the Pokemon. And somehow, it worked, as he held the differently colored Cyndaquil in his arms.
“Hey, are you sick?”
“Cyn.”
“Let’s go get you help.”
Back at home, Katsuki’s parents explained to him that the Cyndaquil was alright, it was rare even. The Cyndaquil was the first shiny Pokemon Katsuki has seen, and he managed to grab it and bring it home.
“So, it’s not sick?”
“Of course not, the little guy’s in perfect health.” Mitsuki ruffled his hair.
“Do I have to let it go?”
“I think that’s up to it, right Masaru?”
“Right. If the Cyndaquil wants to go, we’ll release it, but if not, you can keep it.”
They all sat outside in their backyard, the Cyndaquil exploring under a swing as Katsuki watched it carefully. Katsuki watched as the Cyndaquil left the yard toward the field and felt as though he had failed. He wasn’t sure when he had started crying, just that he was and was being comforted by his parents. Just as he was calming down, he felt a weight in his lap and opened his eyes. The Cyndaquil was staring up at him, a Pokeball in its mouth. Suddenly, Katsuki was crying again, but this time it was from how happy he was.
Masaru chuckled, “Looks like the little guy liked you so much, he went and got a Pokeball for you.”
Later that day, after Katsuki gently tapped the Pokeball against Cyndaquil’s head, he showed it all around the house. In each room, he pointed out everything and what it did to the best of his knowledge. During dinner, Katsuki gave Cyndaquil small spoonfuls of his curry, so much so that Mitsuki had to stand behind him to make sure he actually ate. When it was time for bed, he cuddled his Cyndaquil and told it all about how they were going to be the best.
Mitsuki and Masaru smiled at their sleeping son before heading to their own room.

Bakugou stared at Todoroki, an unamused expression on his face. The Typhlosion standing beside him had the same expression toward the other trainer.
"Half n Half, are you a fucking moron?"
"No, why do you ask?"
"You just told me you never battle with your Vulpix! Clearly it thinks you don't love it!"
"I-"
"No, quiet, think about what you've done!"
Typhlosion looked to his trainer, thinking "Wow, you're like a mom." If only the Pokemon could speak and say that to his trainer's face.

An Innocent Smile
Word Count: 1870
Tumblr media
It was a dry August, not a drop of rain the entire month. A fourteen-year-old girl was at the fair, currently running off from her parents and their occasional farmhand. She wanted to have fun and be away from her parents, though they wouldn’t willingly allow that. While running off toward the animal section, she was approached by four boys.
“What’s a pretty thing like yourself doing without yer daddy?” A yellow-eyed blond asked.
“Hey man, that’s not something you just say. It doesn’t sound very manly.” The red-haired one replied.
The black-haired boy butted in, “Well, her daddy might not like it if she got such a pretty dress dirty.”
Before any of them could say anything else, an explosion rang out from somewhere behind the girl. The sudden noise frightened her, causing her to cling onto the red-eyed boy in front of her, his arm instinctively coming to wrap around her so they wouldn’t fall. The yellow-eyed and black-haired boys complained about the red-eyed boy “getting the girl” when he had said nothing. While they complained, the redhead smiled softly and explained how they had been setting explosives off all day.
Across the fair, the girl’s parents yelled at the farmhand to find her and bring her back. He tried reasoning with them, but they wouldn’t listen. So, he ran a hand through his hair and went off in the direction he thought he caught a glimpse of her going. It wasn’t hard to miss a short girl with long, sky blue hair. It was actually rather easy, he just hadn’t mentioned anything when he saw the blue blur hurry off after getting to the Ferris wheel.
“Aizawa sensei?” The redhead stared at his teacher, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m retrieving Owlixx.”
“No!” The girl, Owlixx, tried to run off after hearing Aizawa. She was too slow, however, as he had already grabbed the back of her dress and picked her up. “No!”
“I know you don’t want to, but you have to.”
“But…why are you taking her?”
“I occasionally work for her parents, Sero. I’ll see you four in class.”
Sero and his friends watched questioningly as their teacher carried the girl into the crowd. Owlixx struggled in Aizawa’s grip, she really didn’t want to go back, but she knew she’d have to eventually. He knew it too, it’s why he still worked for her parents even after becoming a teacher. She would follow him like a puppy whenever she could, though through the years that time grew less.
“You were buying a lemonade, you dropped the lemonade when the explosion went off.”
“My lemonade.” Owlixx sadly said when they reached her parents.
“Where were you?!” Her mother yelled.
“I-I was getting a lemonade, b-but I dropped it.”
“We were going to get lemonade together!”
“I didn’t k-knooow.”
A few days later, Aizawa was teaching at the high school in town. Before class started Sero, Kaminari the yellow-eyed blond, Kirishima the redhead, and Bakugou the red-eyed boy questioned their teacher about the day at the fair. Well, Sero, Kaminari, and Kirishima questioned him and Bakugou just got dragged along. In the middle of science, Aizawa’s phone began to ring, so he excused himself to answer and put Iida, the class president, in charge.
“Hello?” He answered in the hallway.
“A-Aizawaaaa.” Owlixx’s voice came through the phone, she was crying.
“What’s wrong?”
“The-the barn is on fire!”
“Did you-”
“I call-called the fire..fire people.”
“Good, where are your parents?”
“They’re in-inside the baaarn!”
“Shit…” he whispered.
“I-I don’t want to be alone. This is scary…”
“Right. I’ll be there soon.”
As fast as he could, Aizawa informed Yagi of the situation before he left for the farm. He hadn’t done this before, but he couldn’t let Owlixx be alone. She was just a girl, never experiencing something such as a fire or loss. Though that wasn’t what worried him, he was worried the fire would spread to the house, the grass was so dry. The smoke could be seen from the distance, the fire from the driveway. It was huge, fueled by dry wood and all the hay kept inside. The firefighters were already there, trying to contain the fire. Aizawa hurried inside, accompanied by a police officer. He listened to what the officer was telling him, giving a few responses when needed.
“Can I bring the girl with me? She has nobody else.”
“Well, this is the first time I’m handling something like this, so…I suppose, how should I contact you and the girl?”
“I work at the high school, Aizawa Shouta, the principal should tell you where my class is.”
“Right,” the officer wrote in his notepad, “alright, you can take the girl and we’ll come to find you with any updates.”
“Yes, officer.”
Up the stairs, Aizawa entered Owlixx’s room, where she sat in a corner away from the windows. She was hugging her knees as another officer tried to comfort her. Owlixx’s white dress was torn at the bottom, which he could only assume was from running to get the phone and call.
“Owlixx, they’re letting me bring you back to the school.”
“O-okay…”
“C’mon,” Aizawa helped Owlixx up, “let’s go.”
“Can..can I bring these?” she grabbed a deck of playing cards.
“Sure, now come on.”
The drive to the school was quiet, just the sound of blowing wind from the windows. Owlixx had her head partially out the window, her sadness gone with the wind. Glad she was distracting herself already, Aizawa smiled, now set on thinking what to do with her and his students. Owlixx was two years younger than his students, he hoped that it wouldn’t matter and that they’d get along, though some of his students may not be so, say, welcoming. Suddenly, she was staring at him.
“Do you think the sun sets in paradise?”
“Well, I think it depends on the paradise.”
Owlixx just smiled, a sweet and innocent smile, before returning to look back out the window. They weren’t far from the high school now, just a few more minutes of driving. Aizawa couldn’t tell what was in Owlixx’s mind, or why she asked such a strange question. He was curious, but he couldn’t just ask or force it from her. Yes, he was sure she’d tell him in her own time.
“C’mon, inside.”
Aizawa held the door open for Owlixx as she happily walked in, him following behind her. The class stared at Owlixx, causing her to retreat and hide behind their teacher. Yagi and Aizawa shared a silent conversation before Owlixx was presented to the class.
“This is Owlixx, I’m going to be watching her for a while, which means she’ll be here in class.” Aizawa explained, “I take it you’re all working on the assignment, so I won’t interrupt. When you’re finished, we’ll head outside for an activity I set up for the lesson.”
While the class continued working, occasionally looking up at Owlixx, Yagi set up a desk near Aizawa’s for Owlixx to sit at. She didn’t like being in front of the class, but she could deal with it for a little while. Aizawa checked over the notes Yagi left about the class as Owlixx tried, and failed, to build a house of cards. Students tried not to laugh at the sound of falling cards and the small “shoots” and “dang its”, which they were failing in the silence of the room. Some time later, after the assignment was finished, Aizawa took them outside as he promised.
“Don’t get your dress dirty,” he mumbled to Owlixx.
“I won’t!”
After saying that, Owlixx ran and quickly sat in the dirt, doing exactly what she said she wouldn’t. Aizawa just shook his head before telling his students what to do. A pink-haired girl and a purple-haired girl made their way over to Owlixx, crouching down to talk to her.
“Hey, our friends told us about meeting you.” The pink-haired girl happily said.
“They did?”
“Yea! They said how you clung to Bakugou for protection against the scary dynamite.” She smiled, “Oh! I’m Mina by the way.”
“And I’m Jirou,” the other added, “we tease Bakugou about it, he gets all red, might be anger might be embarrassment-”
“Might be a crush!”
“Oh, ah, hi! He hadn’t said anything, so, maybe the embarrassment?” Owlixx mumbled.
“So, why does Aizawa sensei have to watch you?” Mina questioned.
“Oh- well the barn caught fire and my parents were inside.”
“Oh no, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, I think they’re alright, maybe in the hospital.”
“Hey! Do your work.” Aizawa shouted from where he stood.
“Aw, well, we’ll be here.”
“Yea.”
The two girls hurried off, leaving Owlixx to play with a stick and dirt. She didn’t notice when Aizawa was called inside, or when he came back out. She only heard him call her over where he stood with the one police officer from earlier. They took her inside, where she was told that her parents were killed in the barn fire.
“So when can I see them?”
“No, Owlixx, you can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because they’re gone, they’re no longer with us.”
“Oh…”
After it sunk in, Owlixx broke down, hugging Aizawa for comfort. She hugged him until she felt calm enough to go outside again, where she sat hugging her knees beside where he stood. Bakugou finished with what he was assigned to do, noticed Owlixx looking sad, and went to sit beside her.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked.
“No, I’m sad.”
“Why’s that?”
“Something sad happened.”
“I’m sorry…do you, maybe, want a hug or something?”
“Please.”
A few hours later, Aizawa got a bus and took his class to the farm, his reasoning was that they had to catch the animals that escaped the barn. The fire was out and detectives were looking for the cause. They came to Owlixx, as she was the only witness, and brought her away from the group.
“I know you’re going through a lot, but we need to ask you some questions, okay?”
“Okay.” Owlixx nodded.
“Alright, when did the fire start?”
“The sun was resting on that tree branch over there.”
“That doesn’t tell us much, but okay. Where were you when it started?”
“I was going back to the house because mommy was yelling at me to get her some wine because she didn’t want to come down and get it herself.”
“Okay, wait, come down?” The detective looked up from his notepad.
“Yes, she was up in the hayloft with daddy.”
“Then, who let the animals out?”
“Well, I was brushing them and then daddy started yelling at me to light a candle.”
“You lit a candle.”
“Yes,” Owlixx nodded, “daddy wanted it lit and daddy gets mean when I don’t listen.”
“Alright. Well, I think we’re done here, you can go back now.”
“Okay.”
Owlixx stared at what was left of the barn as the sun set, smiling at it. Aizawa walked over to her as his students got the final cow into a trailer a kind neighbor brought over. He stood beside her, staring at the barn.
“I think the sun sets in paradise, Aizawa.”
“Yea. It has to sometimes.”
“I’m glad.”

The Forest
Where the forest rose to the skies and water carved the cliffs, the gentle fog hid a graceful creature. Blending with the fog, she watches you wander through the giant trees, beside the rivers and falls, and up the cliffs.
You travelled with two, Jirou and Bakugou, in the forest of hidden danger. You were climbing a cliff with your friends, not worrying about anything because the cliff wasn't that high up, what would go wrong? That train of thought was over when Bakugou had lost his grip and went falling down the cliff, much farther than you all had thought.
"Bakugou!" Jirou and yourself yelled, quickly finding a way down.
Though once down to where Bakugou was, he was fine in a nest of extremely soft fur. He was also shocked and scared, but thankful he was alive.
"Maybe it was a bad idea coming here." mumbled Jirou.
"But we've come so far, and Bakugou's fine and-"
"Y/N, I just nearly died."
"But you didn't!"
"You're an idiot sometimes."
As you all argued about staying or going, a fluffy white creature watched from the fog. She will be there to save you, doesn't matter what you choose. You can leave or you can find the center, but the guardian of the forest will save you no matter what. Though the forest may be deadly, nobody has ever died in it.

You are training to be a reporter, so you’ve been assigned a teacher who you go with. It all seems fine at first, until you’re in Dynamight’s agency. Oh how everything changes from then. Maybe it was planned, maybe it’s all a mistake, or maybe it’s an ancient curse. But, you want him and his archnemesis doesn’t want to share.

“Miss Nishizaka, you’re here for your weekly meeting with Dynamight?” a young lady asked from behind a desk.
“Of course, Tajima. Your hair looks very red today, did something happen?”
“Ooh, you caught me! He’s ranting to Higuchi about it right now.”
Nishizaka sighs, then turns to you, “Listen, he’s most definitely in a foul mood, but it's a perfect experience for you.”
You nod, “Right.”
“Let’s go, I’ll see you on my way out, Tajima.”

10: Vixen
Tumblr media
“So cold…” Katsuki sleepily muttered.
It was a cold morning, the old and small house not doing much to keep the interior warm. Katsuki wasn’t sure why he chose to live there, maybe it was the mountain nearby, maybe it was the number of foxes he’s seen in the area. He didn’t question it, he just moved closer to the warmth next to him. Warmth. Sitting up quickly, he looked beside him, only to spot a hybrid vixen, black-fur ears standing out against her blue hair.
“So I didn’t dream that,” he lifted the blanket to see her tail across his abdomen, “yea, definitely didn’t dream it.”
“‘uki, put the blanket down, it’s cold,” she brushes her tail against him, “unless you want to warm me up.”
“I told you not to call me that.”
“But it’s so cute and short~.”
“I’m not cute and short!”
“You’re right...I am!”
Katsuki met her during the night, she was stealing his hammock. He had to chase her a little way up the mountain to get it back. She told him her name was Owlixx, all while having a game of tug of war over the hammock. It was when Katsuki got his hammock back that he noticed the clothes she wore were all torn up and exposing what didn’t need to be seen.
Owlixx followed him back to his house, where she was allowed to clean herself up. Looking through his closet, Katsuki grabbed what he thought would fit her. He turned around, only to be surprised by the vixen, hair and fur wet.
“Can you help me dry?”
“The hell do you do at home?”
“I don’t have a home, I have a cave, and it’s called air dry and catch a cold.”
“Riight, now if you’ll go get the hair dry-”
“No!” She squeaked.
“Why not?!”
“Too loud.”
“Fine! Just, go get a towel, on second thought you’ll just grab my curtain.”
It went from drying her hair to bandaging her newer wounds. And from there it was like a dream to Katsuki. Never would he have thought someone so...so vixen, so her, would like him, let alone one be an actual vixen hybrid. His hands were going to be full, not to mention the struggle of caring for a fox.

The Swamp
It was a dangerous place, full of large insects and reptiles, fish that can easily turn you into their next meal, and murky water-filled holes that seemed bottomless. People rumor that entering the swamp is certain death, because if the creatures, drop offs, or swamp natives didn't get you, the beast would.
It was midnight when one had wandered into the camp of natives. She was breathing heavily, leech attached to her calf while cuts and bites scattered the rest of her. Her clothes and hair were soaked, limbs painted with mud and blood. Strong, she was, having made it through such a deadly place at such a deadly time. And now, face to face with the natives of the swamp, nothing happened. Just the crackle of the fire in the center of the hut sounded in the silence.
Green hair, green eyes, soft voice. He's the first to speak up.
"Are you...hungry?"
"Hungry?" she was perplexed.
"Well, stopping in the swamp to eat can kill outsiders, and running wastes energy so...are you hungry?"
"Very much so-..."
"You're free to join us and tell us how you did it."
"Thank you."
The lady ate with them and told all she did to get there. Fighting fish, reptiles, and bugs. Getting tangled in vines as a large snake approached, having to chew her way through the tough plant just to fall into a murky depth. Nearly drowning as a catfish decided she'd look better on the floor of the depth. Falling into deep mud hidden beneath fallen leaves, and grabbing hold of what looked like large, brown corn silk to free herself. Though it wasn't large corn silk she grabbed, it was the tail of the beast, which sent her into a panicked run the opposite way it was looking and eventually she found herself in the camp.
"Wait, you outran the bog dog?" Pink hair, pink skin, yellow eyes asked.
"Bog dog? That was no dog, that was the beast everyone rumored of!"
"He won't hurt you." Blond hair, yellow eyes was next to speak.
"What do you mean? He's killed those that enter!"
Then, blond hair, red eyes started, "Fool."
"I'm not a-"
"You are, so is your town."
"How...how would you know?!"
"Numaōja is the one thing that won't kill you in this swamp. He's large and looks like a terrifying beast, but he has a kind heart. Much kinder than ours."
Split hair, split eyes continued for the other, "Numaōja leads people out of the swamp and to safety. We watch him pass by carrying some lost soul, taking them to the larger cities where they'll be safe. And often times, when we find someone invading and stealing from our traps, he's the one to run up and save them from us."
"I... the legends and rumors of the swamp made me ignorant of the beast, I mean...bog dog. Forgive me."
"It's not us that should be asked forgiveness, it should be the Dragon of the Swamp."
