basically my standards for gay/trans media these days are that it has to be something i'd still enjoy even if none of the characters were gay or trans. bc otherwise the whole thing is a waste of my fucking time. in 2012 i was so starved for gay representation that i'd consume anything that so much as mentioned queerness just to feel less alone but that's not the world we live in anymore and i don't want to go back to that world and i would be miserable continuing to pretend that gayness is the pinnacle of good writing in 2023 it feels so.... gross. i like being spoiled with a rapturous amount of gay content to choose from and plenty of the gay content i DON'T like is beloved by other queer people and i don't have to love every gay narrative or pretend to. so i'm no longer touching any shit that doesn't do the kind of cool storytelling that compels me. i did my years in the trenches.

if you're seriously upset about queer being one of the lgbt community’s terms for itself since before lgbt even existed as a term, i better not see you reclaiming any other slurs or calling yourself gay its perfectly fine if you dont like using the term for yourself! but it is not, and never was a slur, and you can’t excuse attacking other people in the lgbt community for using it as their identity, or finding comfort in the term also to the people in my messages/asks, please go to an actual lgbt center near your home and talk to irl lgbt+ people

No. I will never tag my identity as a slur. I have made this stance EXCESSIVELY CLEAR over literal years. 

It’s pretty fucking rich that someone whose username includes a word that was spit at me while I was hit is sending that word into my inbox to ask me to tag my identity as a slur. 

Practice a little self-awareness, kid, and update your Tumblr filters so that it blocks the word from you having to see it. I will never, ever, tag my identity as anything but what it is. I will never use q word or q slur or q power as a tag. Ever. I have said this for literally years. 

And you may notice that I am talking around the word in question without actually using it. That is deliberate, because I am being a lot kinder to you than you were to me.

If you can’t handle people with my identity talking about our identities without shame, I suggest you practice self-care and block us. That’s on you, not on us.
