Bastet - Met Museum Collection

Inventory Number: 34.6.1 Late Period–Ptolemaic Period, 664–30 B.C. Location Information: Location Unlisted

Description:

Bastet, here shown as a cat-headed goddess, was a powerful protective figure who also was known for her fertility. She could be represented with a lion head as well, but as a cat-headed goddess her peaceful traits were emphasized. Her personal adornments and garments are elaborate on statuettes, often more so than other goddesses, and she usually carries numerous attributes. This figure likely once held at least two separately-attached attributes, probably an aegis against her chest and a sistrum in her other hand. Her dress has an elaborate striped pattern with alternating dotted and lined bands. Bastet does not always wear a decorated dress, but it is much more common for her than for other goddesses. The patterning highlights its craftsmanship and quality; also, as some have suggested, the vertical banding may recall the striped fur of a cat.

Great attention to detail and color was lavished on this figure. Inlays are still visible in Bastet’s eyes, and alternating rows of precious metal and black bronze inlay form her broad collar. Also special to this piece is the base; rather than an inscription or blank register, as on most statuettes, this base bears a pattern of repeated lotus blossoms and buds.

What if Ash used Reserves in the PWC?

MerphlSC for about a month was illustrating their story of if essentially Ash used his reserves the whole PWC/WCS

Which in turn essentially had Ash dominate lol but that's fine as it's the fan fulfillment people had

As Ash didn't catch any of the JN Pokmon including even Lucario

He got back some of his old pokemon from Primeape to Naganadel

Some of the old Pokemon evolved like Oshawott to Dewott, Buizel to Floatzel, etc

He battled all of the M8 (he kept Iris around the Super Class) so the M8 tournament had him essentially gauntlet the remaining 6 as he placed him at 7th and not 8th

And the final team was the ace team essentially as Ash used Pikachu Sceptile Infernape Krookodile Greninja and Lycanroc in it (basically just didn't put Charizard over Krookodile/Lycanroc)

Just wanted to share it as not only is the art beautiful and think deserves the likes and such

But it does highlight something I like and dislike about the reserves conversation

As this would have been amazing to see as just giving a lot of his pokemon their last battles essentially would have been fun especially now with the knowledge it was the end for Ash

However on the flip side at least in the MerphlSC version Ash never lost, it's even a joke that he destroyed Bea (whereas in JN it was a rivalry with a loss tie and an eventual win)

And that's fine its a funny joke

By for an actual series watching Ash dominate wouldn't have been as interesting as seeing him grow his JN team and have to struggle in some matches makes them more exciting and a better story in general (imo)

Again as a celebratory thing I'm fine with the idea for one last run he uses all his old Pokemon

But I think just as a storyteller you need at least a Pokemon like Lucario so that there is some actual learning and progress seen and experienced otherwise you're literally just watching battles

(Even more so than how people complain about his canon JN team )

Or to focus more on the Pokemon that seem to actually progress, as Pokemon evolved which hints at growth, when if others might have grown during this it's not as apparent (I know they're pictures so stuff like new moves and tactics would be hard to show)

Poorly Wired Circuit 1 Year Anniversary

Sentimental post incoming-

1 year ago today I posted the first chapter of Poorly Wired Circuit. I really didn’t know if I would post the second chapter let alone finish the story I wanted to tell but somehow a year later, the story isn’t only finished but I got to give Marcus Moreno the happy ending I wanted so desperately for him to have.

Even better than that, I became a part of fandom of endless talent, hilarity, and crazy shenanigans. I made lifelong friends that I wouldn’t trade for anything, and I found a place to share my silly stories that up until a year ago were only inside my head. Never could I have imagined all of this.

Thank you! To every single reader, follower, mutual, and friend- my life is richer for having you in and I am endlessly grateful for all of you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Post ep 110 - The whole challenge and situation with Tokio was tough on Goh, and I like to think Sacha knows how to offer him a safe space to cry, even if staying quiet.

I think they are at an interesting place right now, with Sacha being on top of his art and climbing his way up to Masters 8, while Goh keeps failing his trial missions, with a very uncertain future in PM. I know the anime probably won’t explore that in depths, but their dreams, while different, match in grandeur. And while one is getting successful, the other is experimenting failure, and while they support each other with all their might, it can be a difficult place to be, on either side.
