I don’t know if someone’s pointed out before but there are massive parallels in Danse’s story. Hear me out (parallels might not be the right word idk)

He’s haunted by the memory of killing his friend. Remembering the cold gun in his hand against Cutler’s head as he begged. There was no way out, if Danse left him he would still die, much more painfully. But if he stayed he’d have to live with the thought of murdering the only one who cared

And then he kneels to a friend, ready to be killed by their hand for the better of the Commonwealth. He wants to die to end his shame, in the same way he pulled the trigger for Cutler. Danse knows the pain and sympathises with your situation because not so long ago, he was there.

I’ve never been prouder of you than I am right now, brother.

Is this man not allowed happiness?
