hi, i just want to say thank you ig for donating your patreon earnings to palestine...im in a place where supporting palestine is easy and in fact my workplace just did fundraising for palestine but i just realized its not like that everywhere. i saw the twitter thread of people losing their job for even just speaking about palestine so again i just want to say thank you...it just make me feel the world is less lonely

yeah....I know the news (or lack of it) coming out of palestine lately has been pretty unbearable, but the palestinian people haven't given up, and neither can the rest of the world - I'm not in a position where I can afford to participate in direct action, but I do have income and if I can provide an intermediary for people who are worried about reprisals from financial donations that's something I'm happy to do.

obviously, I'm not an expert or a spokesperson, but I do think public opinion is changing fast and the people in power are realising that; the UN already called for a truce today, and while it's not a resolution, it's a sign that international pressure is building against israel (and the US and the UK and other complicit governments) - the palestinian people deserve safety and freedom, globally and on their own land, and we cannot demand anything less.

what's happening is horrifying, and the response from people in power in the west has been unforgivable - politicians, institutions, and corporations all have blood on their hands, as far as i'm concerned, but the people on the ground do care, and are finding ways to show it. you're not alone, and there's more work to be done.

Thoughts under the cut:

Renan has a hard time showing emotions, one of the many side effects of being an elf in the Circle since he was five. A subdued, well behaved mage draws less attention than others.

Once he was out the emotion he learned to express the easiest was anger, though only his companions remember this side of him. Everyone else thought he was perfectly cordial. (It was blood magic.)

He began wearing heavy armor after becoming an Arcane Warrior, and continued this through his time at Vigil's Keep. He's also made small efforts at times to keep his hair cut, but it varies year to year.

Vigil's Keep... was not a good time for him. When you're 19 and your girlfriend leaves you and you realize, shit, you actually have feelings for her, and also she's carrying your child and you never even considered having children before because you were a Circle mage all your life, AND on top of all that you suddenly have to manage an entire Arling with no experience, well, it doesn't put you in the best headspace. He drank a lot that year, got a lot more bold about the blood magic, and found out people care more about the bad decisions you make when it isn't the middle of a Blight. (The armor he's wearing here is a custom set Wade made for him from the Sentinel armor.)

The years after he left Vigil's Keep were the best of his life, living with Morrigan and learning how to be a father. Kieran helped him soften quite a bit, and he actually knows how to smile now sometimes. His arms are heavily scarred from all the blood magic and he tends to keep them covered around others, though I imagine when they were alone exploring the Crossroads neither really cared what they were wearing (if anything).

Renan left to research a cure because he began hearing his own Calling a few years before the Breach. He's studied with Avernus and is talented enough with blood and blight magic to stall the effects in himself, but it's slowly been becoming more noticeable. His pallor and resting bitch face make him intimidating to approach, but he's reasonably friendly towards other researchers so long as they don't waste too much of his time.

I honestly don't know where he is now, since Bioware definitely isn't done with Morrigan and whatever they do with her is going to affect him. Ideally he found a reasonable enough cure and they're back together now, though even if they're apart I like to imagine they still see each other often through the Eluvian network. Providing someone (Solas) hasn't locked them both out of it.

I really hope that gentiles who are watching the horror that is being done upon the people in gaza act do not simply condemn the jewish people who flee from countries that have increasingly turned violent and dangerous for them to go to a place that's been presented to them, on a cultural and historical level, as a safe haven without acknowledging that we should all try to make our collective homelands welcoming and protective to their citizens of jewish descent + religion. if we literally antagonize our jewish neighbors, no matter their political stance; if we don't support economically and socially their projects that celebrate judaism; if we don't grant them the modicum of protection and care we would to the people in our communities how on earth are we expecting them not to consider leaving

Kaeya oftentimes wonders what it must have been like, living in Khaenri'ah. Reading the tales of Khaenri'ahn heroes Jean's shared with him, of things he remembered his father mentioning, helped him picture it all. As did knowledge the Akademiya has of Dahri ruins he managed to get his hands on one way or another years later, during his visit to Sumeru.

Ooooo these fellows seem really familiar to me! The carpals are too regularly shaped and the top fellow has too few. Because of the thickness of the forearm bones they've lost some of the shape, also the end of the humerus doesn't look right, but it's not a position I can picture well enough to know what's wrong for sure. Think I can spot some foramina on the skulls, nice 5/10
