Steve, has a seizure and passes out
Steve, wakes up in the hospital
Steve, immediately clocking the worry on Eddie’s face and unable to look away
Steve, forcing a smile: “sorry for being so dramatic. I was just bored and wanted out of the house.”
Eddie, making a choked sound
Eddie, glancing at Dustin who has very red eyes
Eddie: “you know you could have just asked me to take you on a drive.”
Steve, snorting: “we do that all the time. I wanted something different. This car made a cool noise.”
Dustin: “Seriously, Steve?”
Steve, pouting: “I just wanted to go in the wee-woo wagon.”

I had a very specific whump idea in my head and I was wondering if you ever saw it. Character A is carrying an unconscious Character B and is about to put them down. Character A (or others on hand) cradles Character B's head as they're lowered so it doesn't hit the surface they're being laid on too hard.
Oh my god nonny that trope is SO GOOD!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! It should be used more often!! It's so soft and caring and I die every single time. I definitely have some examples of it.
My immediate thought is this scene in Merlin 2x06 after Arthur takes the potion to slow his heartbeat and breathing so it seems like he's dead. Like, I read this description you wrote and my brain conjured this moment.
Other good moments:
Hawaii Five-0 10x22 Steve cradling Danny's head as he lowers him into his lap.
Graceland 3x08 The whole team has a hand on Mike but Paige puts her hands behind his head as they lower him into the ice bath and i love it.
The A-Team 5x14 Frankie and Murdock protecting his head as they carefully lower Face down to the ground after being shot.
Stargate SG-1 4x18
The Greatest Showman when PT lowers an unconscious Phillip to the ground after rescuing him from the fire and WD cradles his head
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Avengers Endgame Nebula cradling the back of Tony's head as she lays him on the chair
One Piece Live Action 1x06
Supernatural 14x14 When Sam rolls Dean over he cradles the back of his head.
Saving Hope 1x01

When A is woken up in the middle of the night and at first they’re not sure why. They rub their eyes and look around blearily; all looks in order. But damn they’re hot. And as soon as that thought appears, they realize with a start it’s coming from next to them - and they look down in horror at B, laying curled into their side. B is absolutely radiating heat - so much so that A is sweaty just from being pressed against them, though no where near as drenched as B. B is shaking and whimpering pathetically, and looks pale even in the low light of the moon, with bright red spots high on their cheeks. A realizes they must not have been feeling well for a while and not mentioned anything, because with a fever like this there’s no way B didn’t go to bed feeling terribly unwell. And A hadn’t noticed.
A tries to wake B up gently, knowing they need to take their temperature and get them some water and meds, but after a few gentle hair strokes and rubbing of B’s arm, they realize B isn’t rousing at all. And if anything their face seems more pained and frightened than it had a minute ago. A starts getting frantic, shaking B harder and calling their name in a panic. They see B’s eyes flutter beneath the lids briefly, then stop as their head dropped even more towards the bed. A’s stomach drops when they realize their aren’t able to rouse B at all. Uh oh.

🤍 Shock in Whump 🤍
The cause leading up to the shock - blood loss, panic attack, a sudden traumatic event.
The intensified feeling of softness. Everything feels soft, even metal. It's like being on a cloud.
Uncontrollable shaking.
Hyperventilation.
So cold. Everything is so cold.
Whumpee looks frighteningly pale.
Caretaker feeling the dangerous speed of whumpee's pulse.
Caretaker keeping whumpee warm with body heat.
Caretaker covering whumpee's eyes to block out light because overstimulation can make it worse.
Whumpee passing out from shock.
That sickly sweet, heady, half-numb feeling that's almost pleasant yet so unpleasant and settles deep in the bones.
A deep, extreme longing to be held and comforted.
Laughing in a strange, airy voice as everything goes distant.
Also, while writing this post, I learned that there are multiple types of shock, including distributive, hypovolemic, cardiogenic, and obstructive shock, according to the NIH. Hypovolemic is what I was picturing, but they're all full of potential.

Been reading a lot of 'character gets bitten by venomous creature and hallucinates' fics lately, and I gotta say - delirious hallucinations can be so good??? The confusion and inability to tell if the person helping you is real? Waking up disoriented and needing to be calmed down? A second character telling the injured character in increasing levels of worriedness that they're hallucinating/their symptoms are getting worse, but they barely know if that's even real or not? Fading in and out of consciousness while they recover, still lost in feverish, nonsensical dreams? All they know is that everything hurts, and anything else turns out to be a lie

Give me Caretaker bridal carrying a weak Whumpee who is desperately trying to stay conscious…Whumpees arms are around Caretakers neck and their head is bobbing up and down against Caretakers chest.
And then suddenly, all at once, Caretaker notices Whumpee somehow feels heavier. Caretaker looks down at Whumpee just as Whumpee’s arms fall limp and their head flops backwards. And Caretaker has to drop to the ground both out of shock and panic as well as to check that their precious cargo is still breathing and to recollect Whumpees deadweight limbs to their chest before they stand back up
