Here's a drawing of patient zero tommy
I drew it back in March after I watched slimecicle's 100 days video for the first time (I literally watched it exactly a year after it came out) and its probably one of my favorite youtube videos of all time :)
I think that the whole patient zero concept is really cool and actually it inspired me to make a patient zero zombie character of my own (not that I've actually developed that character at all lol)
Also sorry for the weird lightning in the pic

Patient Zero
An index case, or patient zero, is the first person to present specific symptomatology. While generally it is used in regards to contagious diseases, it has other uses as well.
The term is slightly controversial due to its non-specific implications. It can refer to the first case of a disease ever, the first case in a specific location, or the first case detected. The diverse meanings of the word may lead to confusion and lack of clarity.
As such, this prompt refers to the first person to either be detected, or ever present, a specific set of symptoms. At minimum, they are the first person to experience the symptoms in a given area.

AITA for creating a virus capable of turning people into dinosaurs and then releasing it into a densely populated city?
I know this sounds bad, but trust me, there's a lot more to it.
I (52M) was working with several colleagues to create a form of gene therapy that could efficiently work to cure dangerous genetic disorders. We never planned for things to go down the path they did.
I had recently lost my family when I was assigned to work on the project, and even prior to that horrible accident I'd struggled with mental health. Paleobiology research, an old passion of mine, helped me to cope with my emotions to some degree, but no matter what I did, I could never fully shake the feeling of misery.
I'm not entirely sure when it started, but over time, my love of paleobiology began to bleed into the independent work I did on the gene therapy project. I didn't even realize it at the time; I only found out when I saw one of my test subjects, a canary, started exhibiting strange behaviors. Believe it or not, over time it also began to look less like a modern bird and more like an Archaeopteryx.
Needless to say, I was shocked and amazed. Our project was capable of much more than we thought. I didn't want any of my colleagues to panic at my accidental discovery, but if I neglected to mention it, it wouldn't have ended well. I showed the former canary to my team, and their reactions were similar to mine.
A specific colleague of mine, who I'll call P (45M,) actually invited me to continue making discoveries of a similar nature, saying we might be able to use them to potentially restore species that were driven to extinction by humans. I was excited beyond belief... you can probably guess where this is going.
My paleobiology obsession only grew, and it fed my work more and more as time went on. Despite everything, I still hadn't fully recovered from the loss of my family, and I found a part of myself wishing for some people I could care for in the same way.
At some point, I was compelled to try and test the therapy on myself to see if I could somehow eliminate the imbalance of chemicals in my body causing my grief to persist. I was advised against it by P, and for a time I listened.
Eventually, though, I gave in. I practically overdosed on it. The pain I went through was unimaginable... yet somehow, I survived. The treatment transformed me into something terrifyingly incredible. Not only that, I retained my ability to speak. P and I were both equally shocked, confused, and fascinated.
Neither of us knew that the treatment responded differently to being in a human body. Somehow, it became a contagious blood-borne disease, which the public called Saurischiavirus. It spread rapidly, and things got out of control quickly.
I should have been worried, but... something about it felt right. It was as if my prayers for a new family had been answered, albeit in a strange way. I was compelled to continue letting it spread, so I did.
After all, who could say no to a chance at regaining their lost family?

new album when?!!? (affectionately and with no urgency)
oof, I've been putting off saying anything but I guess now is as good a time as any, so
new stuff IS coming, but it's probably gonna be a while still
I mentioned it a while ago but my mother has terminal cancer and a lot of my spare time back then was spent helping her out or just spending time with her. since then circumstances have changed dramatically and I'm now her primary caregiver, and what time I have outside looking after her and keeping the house in order is spent with my girlfriend trying to keep sane and maintain some kind of social life.
but to be blunt, she's not gonna last forever, and we're probably looking at only a few more months now. grieving might take a little longer, not looking forward to that part, honestly mostly just not thinking about it.
BUT rest assured, I haven't retired, and I am still planning on putting more ghosts in your headphones.

Hi there! So psyched for this year’s Sicktember! Would you mind explaining what “Patient Zero” means? Thank you!
Patient Zero or The Index Case, are medical terms used to refer to the person who has been identified as the first carrier of a communicable disease in an outbreak-type situation.
The perfect prompt for an apocalyptic event, epidemic, or pandemic, with all kinds of opportunities for angst, drama, and adventure! (Perhaps even a quest for a cure 👀)
Although, you could use the prompt in a much more playful manner as well. Imagine a simple cold, flu, or stomach bug going through a school, a group of friends, or a household. Whoever had it first could be teasingly, dubbed Patient Zero.

See full article at archive.is “Ben Hu, a scientist at the Wuhan Institute of Virology who had done  extensive laboratory research on how coronaviruses infect humans, was identified in U.S. intelligence reports as one of the researchers who became ill in November 2019 with symptoms that American officials said were consistent with either Covid-19 or a seasonal illness. None of the researchers died.” “The Federal Bureau of Investigation has assessed with moderate confidence that a lab leak was the most likely origin of the virus and the Energy Department came to a similar conclusion with low confidence. Four other U.S. intelligence agencies assess with low confidence that the virus arose naturally, while the Central Intelligence Agency has been agnostic.“ “The U.S. intelligence community is planning to declassify more information regarding its search for Covid’s origins as soon as this week, under a law that Congress passed and President Biden signed in March. It couldn’t be determined if the declassified intelligence would include the names of the researchers, and representatives for the director of national intelligence declined to comment.” “Hu is noteworthy, current and former officials say, because of his central role in coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Further, some of the projects he worked on were funded by U.S. government grants, according to documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act by the White Coat Waste Project, a nonprofit that opposes taxpayer funded research on animals.“ “The Government Accountability Office noted in a report last week that some of the research at the Wuhan Institute was funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the National Institutes of Health. Between 2014 and 2019, about $1.4 million was disbursed for work at the institute by both agencies before such grants were suspended.”
