Prompt: Deceit has disguised himself as Patton multiple times off camera as well but it's gotten to the point where Patton's started to forget his identity and not believe he is himself
(credit to @bug-infested-demon for this prompt which you can find here<3)
Ship: platonic moxiety
CW/TW: derealization, a quite literal identity crisis, mention of past panic attacks in detail
Summary: a few weeks after “Can LYING Be Good??” Patton starts to have an identity crisis after Janus disguises himself as him again.
———————————————————————
Patton was swimming. No, not literally. In his thoughts, in his head.
He had laid in an unmade bed with unkempt hair wearing the same black and white snoopy shirt and black shorts for two days straight, stuck inside of his mind while the others attempted desperately to care for Thomas.
He stared at the ceiling, watching the ceiling fan spin around and around and around, the cool breeze brushing against his face every so often.
He listened as the others argued in the commons. Janus had disguised himself as him again for the fourth time that week.
“Shut up!, you…you…” Roman blanked on an insulting nickname.
“Oh Roman, no need for the name calling today, can’t we all just have a polite discussion?” Janus said, voice as smooth and soft as a rock in a creek.
“Your chance for a polite discussion was thrown out the window when you decided to contribute by lying, again.” Virgil quipped, his voice becoming as sharp as a knife at the end of his sentence.
“Now now, Virg. No need to get snarky. I can practically see the malice on your tongue.” Janus replied, voice still soft, though sarcasm reeked off of it.
Virgil’s voice dipped an octave, sensing a disturbance in the environment. “Don’t call me that. You don’t get to call me that.” He spat firmly.
Janus just chuckled, loving how easy it was to get to the anxious side standing next to him.
“Janus, you have to know by now that—“ Logan began.
Patton didn’t hear the rest, he didn’t want to. He grabbed the pillow next to him and folded it over his ears, muffling out the sound.
That was until they started getting louder. No, not the others, his thoughts.
I’m not real. Am I real? Am I me? Do I exist?
The thoughts swirled around in his head, boiling up for weeks like an awful stew.
He sat up, staring in the mirror bolted onto his door. Photos of him and the others were carefully slid into the open space between glass and wooden outline, holding them in place so he could see them every time he’d get ready. He ignored them, looking into the mirror. He was so lost in thought it was almost as if he was staring past himself.
There were slight bags under his eyes, indicating he hadn’t slept for more than an hour at a time in the last 48 hours. He looked as white as a ghost, considering he hadn’t left his room or gone outside for any other reason than to use the bathroom.
In conclusion, he looked like a total wreck, and he couldn’t find it in himself to care enough to do something about it.
He raised a hand up to his face, touching it lightly.
…What if Thomas has no Morality?
Virgil appeared next to him, arms folded across his chest. Instead of his usual demeanor of dark edginess, he looked oddly..sympathetic, more worried than anything, really.
Patton didn’t bother looking at him, just gazed in the mirror, internally panicking. He was shaking a little.
Virgil couldn’t stand seeing Patton like this, all broken and with no one to defend him against himself.
“Pat..?” The name came out as a whisper. He cleared his throat, tried again. “Patton?”
Patton still didn’t make eye contact, but tears welled in his eyes. If he didn’t exist, then neither did Virgil, or any of the others.
Virgil sat on the bed next to the Moral side, looking at him intently. “Hey, what’s going on?”
Patton tried to speak, he wanted to. He hopelessly wanted to tell someone the thoughts in his head, but all that came out was a whimper with tears falling down his face.
Virgil gently turned Pattons head to face him. “Deep breaths, ‘Kay?” he said, compassionately.
Patton nodded, breathing in, then out. in, then out, until finally he had a grip on his emotions. Not that it mattered if he did or not, he wasn’t real.
“Don’t leave. I know you aren’t real but, please. I need this, you don’t understand how much this family means to me.” Patton begged, voice wobbly.
Virgil’s face scrunched in confusion and concern. “Not re— Patton, what are you talking about?” he held the side close to him, making sure his breathing stayed even.
“None of this is real,” he squeezed out, throat tight from holding back tears, “I don’t even think I’m me. And if I’m not me, than that means Janus is, and if Janus is me then that means that Thomas had no morality in the first place and I’m probably something Roman just conjured up in the imagination and—“
“Patton, oh my god, no, no.“ he held him tighter, “you’re real. This is all real, okay?” He said frantically, cutting off the others spiral.
“You are not something that was just made up, Pat. Do you feel the carpet under your feet? That’s real. It’s okay, I promise.”
Patton nodded, “you’re sure…? Because Janus—“
Virgil shook his head, “I couldn’t care less about Janus right now. We’ll definitely be talking later, but I’m more focused on you, and yes I am extremely sure.”
He wanted to laugh at the word he used, ‘talking’, as if it wouldn’t be a full on screaming match.
Patton sniffled, “thank you.”
“Any time, bud” he responded, “and hey, Thomas does have a sense of Morality, or else you wouldn’t be here.”
Patton nodded, gripping on to the Anxious side a little, as if he was still unsure of what he was saying.
“I’m not going anywhere, don’t worry.” Was all he could think to say.
and apparently it worked, Patton eased up his hold a bit, noticing how neither of them had magically faded into thin air. He laughed at himself for thinking something so unrealistic.
“…I’ve been there, you know.” Virgil quietly admitted, to which Patton raised a brow in question.
“Thinking about the whole not being real thing. It was the cause of a lot of my…outbursts, to put it lightly.”
Patton understood what he was trying to get at, the massive panic attacks he used to have. He would find him in the bathroom curled up in the shower in the middle of the night, sobbing. He didn’t like to think about it.
“I know, I’m sorry.” He said timidly, almost as if not to disturb the sadness of the memory and their conversation, a tiredness in his voice.
“Hey, it’s okay. I just want you to know that I get it.” Virgil rushed out, not trying to upset Patton further.
“Do you want me to go so you can sleep? Not to sound rude or anything, but it looks like you need it.” He asked, eyeing the bags under Pattons eyes and the exhausted look on his face, like he could barely keep his eyes open.
Patton said nothing, having gone limp in the others arms. He was as tired as Virgil thought.
He blew air out of his nose in amusement. “I’ll be here, don’t worry.” he whispered to the sleeping person in front of him. “I’ve got you.”

Logan: I don't have feelings! what are you talking about? I'm perfectly content with the way the other sides treat me! no anger issues here! Patton: what? me? depression? no, I'm always happy! Roman: I'm not insecure! I'm fully confident in myself all the time!
Janus: and *I'M* denial.

"I know I'm weak, I know that I'm vile."
Patton and his issues of 'oh no, everyone hates me'. Patton makes me so happy, so I just have to make him suffer <3 Like the other Logan piece, this is The Heart Acoustic's version. Chonny Jash is real cool.

there’s been a lot of discussion about logan and roman during the recent sanders sides episodes and for good reason. the two of them have been through so much, with The Sides Need a Nice Day showcasing that they really do deserve break after all the angst.
however, one character that’s also been facing heavy struggles throughout this time is patton. despite being the side that gets listened to most often by thomas, he hasn’t had the most optimal experiences in a while either, especially since the inclusion of janus and remus into the narrative and the events of selfishness vs selflessness.
this post will focus primarily on the events of Dealing with Intrusive Thoughts but will contain references to all the other episodes throughout.
a little background on patton shows us that he is who thomas tends to refer to in order to receive advice on how to be a good person. being the embodiment of morality, patton does seem to hold a standard for the concepts of “good” and “bad”. it’s a very rigid standard and if something doesn’t match accordingly, patton gets uncomfortable and tries to change it.
an obvious example of this would be patton’s reaction to remus in dwit. in a simplified, black and white sense, intrusive thoughts are bad. they’re harmful and the content of these thoughts is negative and unwanted so it makes sense that patton would want to relinquish remus’ hold on thomas immediately.
as a result, patton is also afraid of remus. during his introductory song, remus states that good and bad is “all made up nonsense” because even though he seems to be the “bad” creativity to roman’s “good” creativity, the line that separates both brothers isn’t as fine as it looks.
logan attempts to explain to thomas that life isn’t black and white and the contrast between roman and remus only appears because that’s how thomas visualises them in his mind. to thomas, roman is good because he encompasses the pleasant part of creativity, the part that’s socially acceptable.
on the other hand, remus is what thomas wants to avoid at all costs. therefore remus becomes bad. in the moments before logan’s explanation, patton insists that imagination is good and stresses that roman is creativity, not remus. he’s insistent on driving remus out of the conversation and away from thomas.
patton’s biggest fear is that thomas is a bad person and that he hasn’t accomplished his goal in trying to make thomas the good person he believes him to be. janus’ influence on thomas proved that thomas wasn’t naturally just good, and it created doubt in patton’s mind that was otherwise not there. he assumed thomas was, by all standards, a good person, and having that illusion shatter in front of him has him questioning not only thomas, but also his own actions.
Tumblr media
now with the arrival of remus and thomas thinking unpleasant thoughts, that fear has reawakened. at the end of svs, patton did end up getting what he wanted: that thomas go to lee and mary lee’s wedding. he believed it was the best course of action and the most morally good course of action.
in fact, during this episode, logan reveals to everyone that it’s not remus who’s been hurting thomas and disrupting his schedules, but virgil and patton instead.
when patton disagrees with comparing thomas to jeffrey dahmer, he also refuses to set the bar at whether or not thomas has murdered someone, like jeffery dahmer had. but logan points out that patton, of all sides, should know that isn’t where the bar is.
Tumblr media
as he goes onto explain, thomas’ upbringing has instilled a strong moral code in him as well as christian values. this explains why morality plays such a huge factor in thomas’ decision making and why he’s so reliant on patton to make his decisions. thomas thinks with his heart, not his head, to make the decisions that are best based on what’s good or bad rather than what’s efficient or rational.
in svs redux, when thomas laments on the fact that he could have just spoken to his friends about skipping their wedding to go to the callback instead, patton is still severely against that thought. skipping the wedding would logically have been the better decision for thomas- he might not get this opportunity again, and as logan mentioned, the wedding only offers thomas a potential spike in depression.
which it did. the only thing thomas got out of the whole situation was a new highscore in word crush and a sense of guilt and regret over everything that happened. not exactly the most ideal rewards for the sacrifice that he made to get there.
however patton tried to convince him that going to the wedding despite all the problems was a good idea because thomas was able to support his friends! it may not have been the rational choice but it was the good choice, the selfless choice. in patton’s world, altruism is purely good and selfishness is purely bad.
that’s why all the examples he gave in svs redux were curated so that thomas would have to make the altruistic choice or risk being a bad person.
now, patton isn’t in this for manipulative means. he is genuinely trying to help thomas given what he knows of situations. thomas’ dependence on him throughout the series has developed him into being an all knowing father figure, who needs to choose the right option so that thomas can do what he needs to without being a bad person. thomas fears being bad, which is why he hides away everything that makes him bad.
while i’m not qualified to talk about christianity or its religious teachings (as i’m not christian), it is interesting to note that patton being the father almost makes him the quintessential god figure.
the father, who thomas must listen to, who knows right from wrong, who decides whether thomas is a good or bad person based on his actions, and the one who can punish him for making the wrong choice. janus is the snake come to trick thomas into sinning, and remus is another dark side whose authority would cause thomas to act and think in ways that are considered wrong.
it’s not unlikely to assume that the reason that thomas’ creativity split in the first place was because morality dictated that there were pleasant and unpleasant thoughts and the distasteful thoughts were repressed and cast aside out of fear that thomas would be punished for having those thoughts.
even though patton didn’t intend it as punishment, him berating thomas all night and trying to force intrusive thoughts out of his mind was chastising. at the end of the episode, patton even stated that thomas had his “permission” to think those thoughts and thomas admitted that it did help to know that.
thomas needed permission from his moral side to be allowed to have intrusive thoughts. because up until then, patton didn’t realise that they were normal and okay to have. he was afraid that they made thomas an evil person simply because they were evil thoughts.
blaming patton for overreacting wouldn’t be right either, because ever since the first sanders sides video he’s been making a genuine effort to help thomas. he is misguided and rigid in his values but he isn’t malicious or deceptive. when logan said that virgil was the one who caused thomas to stay up all night, it didn’t surprise either patton or remus, given that virgil was anxiety and his reaction made sense.
but when logan said that it was also patton, remus seemed to be genuinely surprised and patton turned to look at logan with a stunned expression.
Tumblr media
he couldn’t believe that he was the one who had been making thomas feel bad about himself, and moreover he hadn’t been listening to thomas when thomas insisted time and again that he didn’t like having these thoughts and that he wasn’t enticed by what remus was saying. this is patton realising that despite his best efforts, he was ultimately causing thomas to have persistent difficulties grappling with who he was and why he felt like he couldn’t be a good person.
in patton’s constant struggle to prove thomas’s goodness, he put thomas up on a pedestal that was impossible to escape because it required him to be as altruistic as patton assumed was the norm for a good person, even if that goal was unreasonable or for some reason unattainable.
our lord of the lies said it himself when he berated patton for misleading thomas.
Tumblr media
as janus put it, patton wasn’t capable of misleading thomas. his intentions were sincere and he wanted to help thomas the way that he’s always helped him. but morality isn’t the same for adults as it is for children. when thomas was a child, things were easier. kids are more easily swayed by the effects of good and bad than adults are, simply because ethics for a child aren’t as nuanced as they can be for adults.
Tumblr media
thomas depended on patton because according to him, patton has never steered him in the wrong direction and so he’s certain that for every decision, if he consults patton, he can end up making the right choice. that has worked for most of his life because as a kid, he made simple choices. ones that didn’t involve the level of critical thought that they now do.
so in trying to be that rock for thomas, patton has given himself the power to know and decide what he thinks is best by weighing the options as good or bad. it’s a terrible scale, but the only one he knows. so when thomas starts to listen more to suggestions from janus or roman where he might end up doing the wrong thing— such as lying to his friends about why he’s skipping the wedding— patton immediately puts his foot down. he won’t let thomas do that.
this isn’t helpful. while there is effort, it’s clear that this approach has been hurting thomas more than helping him. patton keeps trying to do the right thing but that’s only possible if thomas’ mental health is balanced but with everything that’s happened, thomas is hanging on by a thread and patton can’t see that.
the plane is already crashing. now is the time to take a step back and focus on himself.
Tumblr media
even patton ended up having a crisis over what to do, which caused him to become lilypadton. he thought he had everything figured out. he thought he had all the answers. but he doesn’t. and this strikes him during a moment when logan (janus in disguise, but patton doesn’t know that) tells him that he’s forcing thomas to risk his own life and health for other people.
suddenly, patton doesn’t know what’s right. he just knows what he wants to be right. and thomas, who has depended on him all his life, is looking to him for help but he doesn’t trust patton as much as he used to anymore and patton lost his chance to make up for his knee jerk reactions in svs and dwit.
he crumbles under that pressure. he’s really pushing to make things right, and his principles conflict with that. like thomas, who in dwit couldn’t accept that he was having intrusive thoughts because his own principles stated that having these thoughts was bad, patton too wants to make everything better but he isn’t able to do that because there’s a disconnect between what he thinks is right and what is actually helpful to thomas.
patton looks to janus for help, because now it’s janus who’s giving the advice. thomas is listening to him. the plane crash was patton’s fault, but janus has pulled thomas out of the rubble.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he thinks he’s bad for thomas. he has tried his best to help, but none of it has worked. in the end, he was part of the problem. he apologised to thomas in svs for being dishonest, he apologised in dwit for his reactions and he has to apologise again in svs redux for lashing out and being too pushy. how many times can he say sorry before it loses meaning? how many times can he say sorry before he admits to himself that he’s just bad for thomas?
hopefully patton can figure out a balance between knowing what is right and helping thomas figure out what is best for him before the orange side is revealed to us, because as @rataticaisdreaming pointed out in one of my previous posts, if patton continues to disapprove of what he thinks is wrong, it might cause a remus 2.0 situation. especially if orange has influence over logan, and patton makes logan feel guilt over it.
overall, i do think patton has been making a steady improvement. his attempt to reconnect with logan and help him is sweet, and he really does fix his mistake when he figures out that he’s been rushing and needs to chill out. this isn’t the first time logan has told patton to chill. but it is the first that patton has listened to him and actively slowed down.
i have hope for patton. i always will.

Janis' Angst Corner
🎄 Christmas Edition 🎄
+ Janus and Remus get left out of Christmas every year. They both claim that they don't care and in fact hate the holiday. But truthfully, they both are extremely hurt by it. So they opt to spend the day together and get each other presents.
+ Patton wants to include Janus and Remus, at the very least in their secret Santa that they do every year. But Virgil and Roman hate the other two so much that he would feel too guilty, like he ruined their Christmas.
+ Logan gets sick of the constant Christmas music and hates how expensive and stressful the season is. He would rather just skip the holiday all together. Oftentimes he'll sneak off after presents to spend time with Janus and Remus since they don't really celebrate the holiday.

Roman writes the Sanders sides scripts. That's a fact known to Thomas.
But what Thomas doesn't know is that the scripts aren't actually, it actually happens.
Roman knows how much control he has being creativity and writing the scripts.
The constant ignored Logan, the more unsympathetic actions of Patton, the coddeling of Virgil. All Roman's writing.
After an argument with Patton, he writes in the script, letting Janus impersonate Patton. Later the same with Logan.
Remus went of script by knocking Roman out and introduced himself. That was the only time someone went off script and could be because Remus is also an creativity.
Now a while later, Roman and Logan get into a massive argument that leaves Roman fuming.
He meets an certian orange side who promises to make Logan's life hell if he just lets him into an episode.
Leading to Roman writing the orange plotline including Logan being tormented by orange inside his head.
Roman is the puppet master and the other sides are his puppets.
And he isn't giving up that control soon.

Notes: I will only be putting the first chapter on Tumblr because it's very difficult for me to post multi chapter things on tumblr and make sure all the links get connected and all that. Also, this is for @8beez from the @tsspromptmonth spring cleaning event!
Chapter 1: Star in the Woods
Fwoosh boom.
The forest seemed to bend inward, bowing towards the center as a streak of light hurtled out of the sky and crashed to the ground. Logan stared, his forgotten papers falling slowly through the air. Several questions ran through his mind as his body decided on a course of action. The researcher in him wanted to run into the forest, wanted to pull out his notebook, and start cataloging everything, but his body was frozen in wonder. Jupiter's storm- Venus was right! All these years studying astrology, all those times Patton said there was no way a star could predict the future. Hah! And what did Venus say? Heavenly figures would fall today. The stars had also said that today was a day for those born under the sign of Scorpio to boldly go after their future.
Logan stepped forward, papers forgotten on the floor.
His wand illuminated his path as he walked to the edge of the forest, cut wood changing to grass and eventually changing to the fallen underbrush he had known to be wary of. The forest had always been Patton’s domain, a love of plants and nature but the trees gathered close and cut Logan off from the stars. It made him nervous. It made him uneasy. Plants had always made Logan uneasy especially after- no, he didn’t have time for the past. He took in a deep breath, steadying his nerves, and entered the forest. He needed to boldly go. The darkness swallowed him, his wand barely making a dent. Logan cast his eyes to the sky, unable to see even the moon through the dense foliage. He shivered. It was just a forest of plants and any animals that might live in these parts had mostly likely been scared away by the light and the crash. If Logan wanted to investigate, he just needed to push forward. He could do this.
After the seventh time of tripping over some roots and scraping his hands against the bark of a tree, Logan was ready to call it off. Mysterious light or no, he was frustrated and that frustration was hiding the terror that bubbled inside of him. He gripped his wand tighter in his left hand, his right held out as a brace against the forest around him. It was only as he tripped on another root, almost dropping his wand and losing his light spell, that he realized there was another light source. The mysterious light! He quickly turned toward it, moving forward carefully as he approached the ever-bright mystery.
A sound broke through his elation, was that mewling? Whining? The sound of something small and in pain started to filter through the trees and Logan quickened his pace. Though the forest scared him he had always been the type of person who could cast his fears aside when someone was in need. The light grew and grew, almost blinding Logan as he shielded his eyes. There was a warmth that filled him, not like the warmth their sun had, but something softer and more radiant. His muscles felt relaxed and his mind was clear despite the earlier fear and adrenaline. Logan hadn’t been this calm in... a very long time. He was able to focus on the sound, moving his feet toward the echoes of pain. It led him to the edge of a crater where the light was brightest.
“Holy Neptune.” He mumbled at the sight, eyes surveying the scene. A small boy, in what looked like purple robes, was laying in the crater, twisted and curled in on himself. He had hair that seemed to shift from black to purple as Logan moved his head, trying to assess the damage. For a moment, Logan thought their eyes connected, but the boy was looking about wildly, unable to focus on anything. The crater was surprisingly shallow, and Logan carefully stepped in, tucking his wand into his pocket for safekeeping. This person needed help, but he wanted to do his best not to frighten the boy further “Hello?” He asked softly, trying to use a kind voice. Patton had always told him he sounded much too stern like a man giving a lecture. That wasn’t the aura he wanted to put out right now. “Can you hear me?”
At the sound of Logan’s voice, the boy locked eyes with him, clarity seeming to swirl behind his dark irises. His breath hitched and he tried to scramble away with only one arm, the other pinned tightly to his chest. It wasn’t hard to guess where this boy was injured. Logan cleared his throat, crouching down to make himself a little less intimidating. “Hey. I’m not going to hurt you,” he whispered, still attempting to maintain a calm voice. Logan held his hands out, keeping his shoulders relaxed, showing he meant no harm, but he wasn’t sure the other understood.
The boy shook his head and cradled his arm to his chest. A single drop of silvery liquid came from a cut in the boy’s robes and Logan sucked in a breath. It was worse than he thought.
“Can I look at your arm?” He asked, reaching towards the boy but he moved too fast. The boy yelped and tried to scoot farther, back pressed against the edge of the crater. He seemed to grip his arm tighter only for more whines of pain to escape his lips. The boy’s chest rose and fell rapidly and he started shaking. His mouth was moving but all Logan could hear was static. He could feel it though. In his clarity, he could feel the fear and frustration. Shiny drops of liquid flowed from the boy's eyes and Logan had only seen something like this once before. Was he...was he having a panic attack?
After the one time, Logan had done a lot of research, he never wanted to feel so helpless when his friends were hurting, so he scooted forward slowly, hands raised and still leaving enough room for the other to maneuver.
“Hey, hey!” Logan tried to get through to the boy. “If you can understand me, I need you to breathe, ok? Breathe with me.” Logan exaggerated his breaths so that the boy could hear them, ignoring how he was slowly getting light-headed. He also put a hand on his own chest, pushing it out as he took in a breath and then back in as he let it out. “You need to let your parasympathetic nerves and norepinephrine kick in. You need to breathe for that to happen, ok?”
The boy looked at him terrified, watching his every movement as he babbled something Logan still couldn’t understand. He watched Logan’s hand and eventually started to copy the breathing. It was a slow process, every time he was almost close, Logan would adjust for comfort and the boy would start to panic again, but after nearly 20 minutes, the boy was breathing normally though fear still lingered in his eyes. He hugged his arm closer to his body, spreading the silver light all over his purple robes. It had gotten worse and Logan could see some of the fight leaving the boy in front of him. He couldn't let this kid go without medical help and though he knew there was a possibility he would make things worse emotionally. “I’m sorry,” He said quietly before standing up, quickly walking to the boy and scooping him up. The boy’s eyes widened, his breath immediately growing shallow again as he struggled in Logan’s arms. “I’m sorry,” he repeated, restraining the boy against his chest. “But you need help and you need someone who can look at your arm.” He marched out of the forest, noticing the boy himself let off enough light for Logan to see through the trees. It was fading by the moment and Logan picked up his pace as he saw the clearing that led to his house.
As he felt the grass under his feet he walked with more confidence and assurity. As they walked up the wooden steps Logan loosened his iron grip only to grab his wand and throw the door open. He was in a rush as he felt the boy’s fight grow weaker and weaker. By the time Logan laid the boy on the bed, the silvery light had spread through the boy's entire sleeve. He was unconscious by the time Logan pulled away, whispering a quiet ‘shit’ as Logan rolled up his sleeves and tore the boy’s. The boy on his bed obviously wasn’t human, but Logan hoped some of the anatomy was at least the same. When he had thought about boldly going into the forest he didn’t think he’d be playing doctor to an unknown creature.
Logan got the bleeding to stop and he had reset the boy’s bone, at least he hoped he had. There wasn’t much else he could do for now as stood up and began to clean up the room. There was still a hint of shining silvery liquid on the bed and the floor but he didn’t want to move the boy too much to change the sheets. “Who are you and where did you come from?” After cleaning everything he could, he grabbed his journal, quickly making notes about everything that had happened as well as the star alignments.
Today was an interesting day, and only the future will tell if it was a good one.

Patton and Remus Fluff, Pretty please with a cherry on top? 🍒🥺
Patton & Remus Fluff Headcannons
Here are some Patton & Remus Fluff headcannons as requested by @jumbo-bo on Tumblr. These headcannons are platonic Patton and Remus, but if you want to interpret them as romantic that’s fine too. The headcannons are a little more hurt/comfort towards the end, but they’re mostly fluff.
Content Warnings: mention of allergies (cat allergy), mention of a zombie cat (which has stitches on it), food and drink mention (in relation to the zombie cat not needing to eat and drink), mention of playing horror games, mention of having nightmares (Patton has nightmares, so I guess a bit of Patton hurt/comfort is here).
Click below the cut to read the headcannons.
—————————————————————-
- Since Patton is allergic to cats but really wants a cat, Remus decides to make a zombie cat for Patton. The cat isn’t a stereotypical zombie that eats body parts or anything. It’s basically a cat that doesn’t need to eat or drink to live. Patton is a bit scared at first by the cat, since it feels very cold and has some stitches on it, but the cat meows happily up at Patton and the moral side is immediately in love with the cat. Patton thanks Remus and decides to show his gratitude by letting Remus name the cat. Remus names the cat Frankie, like the character from monster high, since that series is one of the few not so scary monster related shows he and Patton can bond over.
- To bond with Remus, Patton tries to play some horror games with him. They are typically mascot horror games, because the mascot designs can be somewhat nice to look at, which makes playing the games a bit less intimidating for Patton.
- Patton gets Remus a onesie to wear to family movie nights in the mind palace. The onesie looks like a rat. It has little ears on the hood and a tail on the back. Remus likes it enough that he actually wears it to bed sometimes.
- When Patton has nightmares and just wants someone to listen to him vent about them afterwards, he goes to Remus. The creative side isn’t freaked out by the negative or dark thoughts Patton’s mind creates in the nightmares, so Remus is great at calmly listening to Patton’s retellings of them. Remus is also great at hugging Patton after he finishes venting. The moral side didn’t expect Remus to be a good hugger considering he lived with Janus and Virgil, who aren’t too openly affectionate. So Patton was pleasantly surprised by how comforting Remus’s hugs were.
- One day Patton asks Remus if he can give him a makeover. The moral side wants to try out a new style, and likes some of the casual punk outfits Remus wears when they aren’t filming Sanders Sides videos. The creative side excitedly agrees to the moral side’s request and gives Patton an outfit that can be considered pastel punk.

Another prompt haha
Its 1 am. Patton just woke up from a spider nightmare all sweaty and in a panic attack. Since his room is right next to Logan, nerdy wolverine decided to check up on him, since he wasnt sleeping yet (fucking insomniac :))))
Logan: Hey, Pat, you alright?
Patton, whilst hyperventilating: no, another nightmare.
Logan: Shhh, its okay, its okay, let it all out
Patton, almost crying: they are out to get me Logan, i see them crawling up the walls
Logan: There is nothing crawling up the walls, Patton. Do you maybe want to sleep in my room?
Patton, a bit calmed down: but then where will you sleep?
Logan: well, I suppose cuddles help forget about the nightmare, right?
Patton: Logan, you are the best. Thank you
BONUS
Patton, while cuddling Logan: Also how did you hear me panic?
Logan: well, i wasn’t asleep yet-
Patton: WHY WEREN’T YOU ASLEEP YET, YOU KNOW THATS NOT GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Who Is Who
Author’s note: This is for @pattonapologist (this post)
Notice/warnings: questioning self, blame, self hate, crying, Remus being Remus
▪▪▪
Janus didn’t like the scales on his face.
That’s what got him to shapeshifting. It’s just who he would shift into.
Even behind the scenes, he shapeshifts.
But here's the thing: He can't copy the human side of his face on the snake side. He tried it before and it felt AWFUL. It was very uncomfortable.
So, he picked a Side. But little did he know what would happen by pretending to be the dad side.
Patton had been confused for the past few months of practice and videoing videos.
The other main Sides were mad at him, and he dosen't know why.
Today is his part with Thomas to video. Patton smiled a bit when he got on set. Thomas smiled at him and greeted him with the crew.
"You ready, Patt?" Thomas asked, smiling softly. The Morality Side nodded. "Yep." he replied, smiling.
They started to record and everything is going well... until Thomas asked, "Who do you think that I am?"
Patton's face went white. "Um... I- um..." he started, remembering the others negative words to him. He started to cry.
Everyone in the room got worried. Thomas went to him and held him while Quail turned the camera off. "Hey, guys. Take a lunch break." Thomas said to the crew. The crew nodded and went out of the appartment to get food.
Thomas looked at Patton.
The Morality side looked confused and saddened.
"Patton? What's wrong?" Thomas asked. Patton looked up at him and said, "The others have been upset at me for things that I haven't done... I don't know why..."
Thomas felt sorry for him. He rubbed Patton's back. "Want me to summoned the others?" he asked.
Patton nodded.
Thomas summoned Logan, Roman, and Virgil, who were very confused when they were summoned.
"The couch." Thomas said, pointing at the couch. The Sides went to the couch and sat down on it.
The main Sides went and sat down on the couch. They looked up at the host as Thomas looked down at them. "So, what's going on?"
The three Sides looked at each other, confused. “What do you mean?” they said union.
Thomas looked at them angry but keeping his cool. “Patton has told me that you three have been mad at him for something that he didn’t do.” Thomas said, deadpanned.
“But he said that he would do some of the things that we asked!” Roman exclaimed angrily.
“Roman!” Virgil and Logan yelled at the prince.
Roman looked at them. “What?”
Thomas raised an eyebrow. “Explain.”
Logan sighed and said, “Patton said that he would help us something and he didn’t do it when he said that he did.”
Virgil and Roman nodded in agreement.
“Look, I didn’t remember ANY of those.” Patton said, confused.
Thomas was thinking, trying to put two and two together. “I think that we need Janus and Remus for this.” he said, sighing.
Thomas summod an arguing Remus and....Patton?
The two sides stopped arguing when they realized that they’re in a different room and looked at everyone stared at them surprised.
“Um…” Thomas started, looking at the second ‘Patton’, “Janus?”
The second Patton sighed and, with the flick of his wrist, the disguise faded to reveal Janus.
The Deceit side looked guilty. “Look…” Janus started, “I know that we all talked about disguising and…” Janus looked at Patton. “I’m so sorry… I didn’t mean for this to happen…”
“Why?” Patton asked, tilting his head to the side.
Everyone looked at Patton, confused. “What do you mean ‘why’, Patton?” Janus asked, breaking the silence. “I disguised myself as you and lied to them. You got the blame… my blame…” Janus sighed and started to sink out.
“Janus, wait.” Thomas and Patton called to him.
Janus rose back up, confused.
“Why do you do that?” Patton asked. “Just wondering.”
Before Janus spoke, Remus quickly said, “He hates his scales!”
Janus glared at Remus. But before he could say anything,
The host and main sides looked at Janus and they exclaimed,  "Wait-what?!"
Janus sighed, “Yes… I do… I don't know why I have the scales but they make me feel alone…. that’s the main reason why I shapeshift more than all of you. So I can see a different me in each shapeshift and don't have to look at them…"
Everyone looked at Janus for a moment, then Thomas asked, "But why don't you make a copy of your human side?"
Janus sighed and faced plamped. "Because it'll look like those things on- Instagram, I think," he said, trying to explain, "The one that mirrors one side."
"You mean a filter?" Roman asked, pulling out his phone and showing the filters.
Janus points at the phone. "Yes, that."
Thomas hummed and nodded in understanding.
Janus looked down and continued, "The one shift that I was comfortable with was Patton's.”
Roman, Logan, and Virgil were in shock by this. "So, we were talking to the wrong person." Logan said, finally.
Janus nodded and sighed. "Again… I'm sorry…" he said as he sank out.
Janus was in his room for a long while, crying.
There was a knock on the door and Remus popped his head in. "Hey, Jan. You're needed." The Dark Creativity said.
Janus looked confused at him with red eyes. "What-?" he started to ask but Remus grabbed him and a fireman carried Janus.
The Deceit side tried to get out of his grip but Remus had a strong grip and sank out.
Remus set Janus down when they raised up into Thomas' living room.
"Jan is here!" Remus yelled and sank out before Janus could do anything.
"Oh Janus!" Thomas and Patton's voices called out to Janus.
Deceit saw Thomas and Patton on the couch, with a sketchbook.
Janus slowly walked over to them. "Hey? What's going on?" he asked confusedly.
Thomas stood up and said, "We wanted to talk about your outfit for season three."
Janus was surprised. He looked at Patton to see if he was serious or not. Patton smiled and nodded.
Thomas showed a page to Janus.
It's his new outfit.
Janus hummed and nodded. Then he pointed at Patton and asked, "But why's Patton here?"
"I showed everyone else what we're planning for season three outfits," Thomas explained, "each Side got to help with their design. But the crew and I were still figuring out your outfit and design."
Patton giggles softly. "I wanted to let you know that I forgive you Janus." Morality said, smiling gently. "And I wanted to see if I can help, if you want."
Janus' surprised look became a smile. "I would like that."

Patton- *to Virgil* I know how you feel. I didn’t have any friends before Roman and Logan.
Virgil- You? I figured everyone would want to be your friend.
Patton- Yeah, definitely not everyone. And I'm still learning how to be a good friend, too.

Janis’ Angst Corner
+ Roman has a skin picking disorder, he will spend hours in front of a mirror trying to get rid of any blemishes, real or imagined.
+ While Patton has gotten better with sharing his feelings with the others, he still prefers to repress them, he hates all his negative thoughts and emotions, and often confides in Logan or Janus about them because those are the only two he thinks can handle it without making a big fuss
+ Even though Janus encourages Patton to open up and be honest about his emotions, Janus himself represses all of his own negative emotions, not wanting to burden anyone else because he already feels like a constant burden.
+ Remus doesn’t miss his brother at all, in fact, he hates that the others think he does, he wants nothing more than for Roman to disappear because there is nothing Roman could do to fix things.
+ Virgil struggles with self harm, and uses his webs to bind his own arms so tightly that he restricts his blood flow, but he magically fixes them so no one knows, other than Janus who stays out of it because Virgil would kill him if he told the others.
