Happy 99th Birthday to Jimmy Carter! ❤️🎂
James Earl Carter Jr. (born October 1, 1924) is an American politician and humanitarian who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 76th governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975, and as a Georgia state senator from 1963 to 1967.

10 Facts about Jimmy Carter:
"1. Born on October 1, 1924, in Plains, Georgia, young James Earl Carter Jr. was the first person on his father’s side of his family to graduate from high school.
2. Carter entered Annapolis during World War II. The future President graduated in the top 10 percent of his class in 1946, and he and his new wife, Rosalynn, moved frequently as his Navy assignments changed.
3. Carter gave up his military career to save the family peanut farm. And as a parent, Carter became involved in local politics when he served on an education board.
4. He supported civil rights, which hurt his early political career in Georgia. After a poor showing the 1966 governor’s race, Carter adopted a more centrist image, and he won the election in 1970. He became known as a budget cutter while in office.
5. Carter was a “dark horse” presidential candidate in 1976. The future President was tied for 12th in early polling, well behind former Alabama Governor George Wallace and former nominee Hubert Humphrey. He used his image as a Washington outsider to defeat Gerald Ford in the general election.
6. The Carter presidency was a study in contradictions. President Carter played a key role in the Camp David peace accords, but he also struggled with Congress and the media. The Iranian Hostage crisis proved to be a significant factor in his 1980 loss to Ronald Reagan.
7. Carter’s legacy grew after the 1980 loss. F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote there are no second acts in American lives, but Carter’s public career after the White House is an exception.
8. In 1982, he founded the Carter Center, which has played an active role in human rights and disease prevention issues globally. The Carters helped publicize Habitat for Humanity, also.
9. Carter received his Nobel Prize in 2002. He received the award "for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development."
10. Harry Truman was Carter’s favorite President. Carter told The Guardian in 2011 that he admired Truman for not trying to profit off his presidency."

i’ve been working on the most self indulgent au for about a week now and I thought i’d share my thoughts. now presenting... my ace attorney blaseball au! including teams, positions, modifications and more about all the ace attorney characters i could think of and how they would play blaseball. you can also find it on ao3 here, but ive included all the information i have below the cut!
Blase Attorney (Blaseball Ace Attorney AU)
Phoenix-
Team: Yellowstone Magic
Position: Batter
Modifications: Seeker
Details: one of the first replacements in the game, he was originally just a blaseball fan who was following around miles edgeworth his childhood friend to his games (disguised as him going to see Larry play) and sort of wished that he could play so he could get closer to miles and is at a magic/steaks game that miles is pitching when someone gets incinerated and suddenly he’s on the field in a jersey with a glove and that really messes him up, he's a pretty good player not a star player but definitely a solid one, gets the seeker mod in the season 19 tarot reading
Notable Forbidden Knowledge:  REALLY high martyrdom
Maya
Team: Yellowstone Magic
Position: Batter
Modifications: Haunted
Details: she replaced Mia when she was incinerated and isn’t a season 1 player but has been here so long that it FEELS like she is, isn’t great at the game and has like really bad forbidden knowledge stats but she occasionally hits a surprise dinger and the fans love her so they infuse her and she becomes a serviceable batter, is constantly filled with guilt and emotions about being the person who replaced her sister she gets the haunted mod in an election
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high base thirst, really good divinity that only gets better after her infuse
Edgeworth-
Team: Dallas Steaks
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: None
Details: season one player who didn’t really want to join blaseball but he took it in stride and he wasn’t very good at first but he got a blessing that MADE him good and he’s miraculously been on the team the whole time, originally placed in good league because Fran was in Evil and von Karma wanted them to dominate the game and become the best in their respective leagues, still one of the best players in the game, his dad still dies somehow, refuses to “buy into” the dad bit from the steaks and insists that he was just placed here
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: EXCEPTIONAL ruthlessness (one of the highest in the game), good other stats as well, just a really solid PITCHING statline, his other stuff isn’t good
Franziska-
Team: Hades Tigers
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: Friend of Crows
Details: season one player who fans LOVE even though she hates everything about the game and the circumstances in which she’s here, she’s a naturally good player but she lets up a lot of home runs, she receives the friend of crows modifier in season 10 much to her dismay, ALMOST pitched a perfect season and then absolutely RUINED it in the last game and it crushed her
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: higher highs than miles but also lower lows, in particular her overpowerment isn’t very good, she is also a more well rounded player and would also be a fine batter (solid thwack)
Gumshoe-
Team: Originally on the LA Unlimited Tacos, then feedbacked to the San Fransisco Lovers
Position: Batter
Modifications: Siphon, Attractor
Details: season one player that is beloved by the fans and he’s decent at the game but he always tries to steal bases but he is so bad at it, he’s the teams siphon but he NEVER drinks blood except to draw a walk, he ends up getting redacted because of consumer attacks and is probably one of the first to do so despite him having QUITE a bit of soul, he becomes Wyatt Gumshoe in the Wyatt Masoning
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: GREAT thwackability, bad everything else which makes for a really interesting player to say the least
Athena-
Team: Miami Dale
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: None
Details: POWERFUL ARMS also she is a replacement player she probably becomes a replacement after Simon does and she got into blaseball because of that cute flowers pitcher and now she’s here but she LOVES Miami and she LOVES being bad at the game, she leans really hard into the neon aesthetic
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: good unthwackability and ok ruthlessness, shakespeareanism is her highest stat, would also be a great batter and has really good thwackability and divinity, GREAT vibes
Apollo-
Team: Mexico City Wild Wings
Position: Batter
Modifications: None
Details: founding member of the wings legal team who’s another replacement player that FEELS like he’s a season 1 player, he isn’t very good in general but REALLY good for the wings and is probably the mvp at some point but like he’s a really inconsistent hitter but when he DOES hit its POWERFUL and he gets a lot of RBI’s
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: SHOCKINGLY good musclitude and ground friction, GOD awful moxie
Larry-
Team: Dallas Steaks
Position: Batter
Modifications: None
Details: season one player who is like the teams designated player we beat up on because they’re awful but we love them, gets shadowed in the expansion era because he just wasn’t good anymore and he REFUSED to leave, he is the definition of “YOU CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS,” would always party but his forbidden knowledge is TRASH so it was never worth anything because he’s top ten in the league for career strikeouts
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: REALLY HIGH PATHETICISM HOLY SHIT but good ground friction and like, ok musclitude
Ema-
Team: Kansas City Breath Mints
Position: Batter
Modifications: Fire Eater
Details: replaced the first player incinerated on the team so she has a lot of fans because she’s been here a while but like also her career is forever impacted by the fact that people mourned so deeply before really appreciating her and a lot of fans can never really love her in the same way, but she has fire eater now and WILL cut a bitch down to size, she’s also definitely been attacked by consumers though, she also parties a LOT
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: good defender, high omniscience and tenaciousness
Lang-
Team: Houston Spies
Position: Batter
Modifications: Maximalist, Siphon
Details: replaced a SUPER popular player who was REALLY good at the game and struggled with a lot of the implications of their legacy but he ALSO became really good and a really iconic player to the team and eventually became a fan favorite, LITERALLY cannot stop freaking drinking blood hes so fucking massive now holy shit but like only his baserunning
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: PHENOMENAL baserunning just in general but his base thirst is low so he doesn’t actually steal that much, SUPER high moxie and musclitude
Kristoph-
Team: Baltimore Crabs
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: Returned, Debt
Details: season 1 player who was a really aggressively middling player who had deceptively high stars and they could never get rid of him until he finally got incinerated in late season 6/early season 7 but he gets necromancy-d on accident and no one wanted this now he just haunts the league, he joined blaseball to get notoriety and some level of fame and convinced Klavier to join him
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high coldness and ok ruthlessness, unthwackability is fine, shakespeareanism is also good
Klavier-
Team: Originally on the Crabs, but feedbacked to the Seattle Garages
Position: Batter
Modifications: Spicy
Details: he signed up when Kristoph did. because he said that this would be something good to do as brothers and they even signed to the same team, carcinization really freaked him out but he was a season 1 crab and no one knew what would happen, he Feedbacked in like season 6 and kris got incinerated really shortly after he feedbacked which messed him up, he loves the garages vibes WAY more than he liked the crabs
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high moxie and indulgence
Kay-
Team: Charleston Shoe Thieves
Position: Batter
Modifications: Flippers
Details: shoe thieves, batter, she was originally a shadows player and just sat there doing great thief things until she got called up for having very sneaky good stats (rod.net style) where she singles a lot and then just steals her way to third/home, voted to trust her in season 11 and now she has cool flippers
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: really high basethirst and laserlikeness, also very high anticapitalism, good thwack subpar musclitude
Sebastian-
Team: New York Millennials, possible feedback to the Thieves?
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: None
Details: his dad was a famous blaseball player before the ILB so he signed him up to play and didn’t get on the roster until maybe like season 9, really dramatic arc where he starts out really bad but slowly through incremental stat increases becomes pretty ok but then has a devastating allergic reaction and ends up having to be shadowed because he’s just unsaveable at this point, but still a big fan fave and people still talk about them, he would’ve been a pretty ok batter with really high defense but peanut destroyed that too
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: high highs and low lows and vibes are just… there
Juniper-
Team: Boston Flowers
Position: Originally a batter, but reverbs into Pitching
Modifications: None
Details: season 1 player who is really popular amongst the fans but isn’t well known outside of the fanbase she joined blaseball because she didn’t really have a choice and she was just working at the garden, she wasn’t a great batter but she’s a shockingly good pitcher, she had partied so much that she is now just undeniably good solely because she has partied THAT much
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: SHOCKINGLY good ruthlessness, its her only good stat though until parties make her good
Simon-
Team: Chicago Firefighters
Position: Batter
Modifications: Ego+
Details: another late season replacement that was made to be a edgelord with really good stat set up and he’s a super consistent batter who just also gets walked a lot and has a LOT of thirsty fans, REALLY good at dunking, one of the best idols for solo seeds but ONLY for a SINGLE season because he just underperforms his stars for NO reason and its infuriating, joined because he didn’t want athena to get recruited but she followed him anyways to find out what the hell happened to him and why he just vanished
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: HIGH musc/thwack/martyr with really low patheticism, absolutely ATROCIOUS vibes
Godot-
Team: Hellmouth Sunbeams, roams to the Tokyo Lift and then to the Canada Moist Talkers
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: Roamin’
Details: a season 1 player who would be a MUCH better batter but REFUSES to leave the rotation with deceptively high stars and one of the first players to get roamin’ and actually becomes good because of it infuriating LITERALLY everyone
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: have you seen bright zim? Yeah its just that. He has sixteen fingers for no reason
Trucy-
Team: Originally a Philadelphia Pies player, but feedbacks to the Yellowstone Magic
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: None
Details: Phoenix becomes her dad after she feedbacks, later season replacement probably surrounding the s7 instabilities and beanings and she got REALLY popular REALLY fast with the pies fans and over siesta but then she gets traded like the Monday after and it breaks the fans hearts, she’s not very good but she gets alternated into BEING good
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: moxie queen! Also chasiness and continuation, as well as good musclitude and vibes
Nahyuta-
Team: Originally on the Beams, but feedbacks to the Hawai’i Fridays
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: Attractor
Details: expansion era player who replaced an absolutely GARBAGE player so the fans are DELIGHTED by him, lets up a lot of walks but has shockingly pitched a no hitter despite only being here since season 13, was infused because of his good forbidden knowledge stats, still gets faxed out of the game because he has games where he just lets up a RIDICULOUS amount of runs, actually fit in really well with the Fridays, was observed (by Kristoph?) and then got redacted
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: uncle plasma… 2! Also REALLY big vibes range
Justine Courtney-
Team: New York Millennials, traded to the Breckenridge Jazz Hands
Position: Pitcher
Modifications: None
Details: joined the team before Sebastian probably around season 5, was pretty average at pitching but ate a peanut and had a yummy reaction which made her slightly above average but subpar ruthlessness made her still not great, traded away to the Jazz Hands after Sebastian was shadowed, really polarizing for fans there was a lot of fighting about whether or not to trade her from fans
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: ok ruthlessness
Mia-
Team: Yellowstone Magic
Position: Batter
Modifications: None
Details: was the season 1 stand out batter for the magic, she was a REALLY good season 1 player that fans STILL talk about even though she’s been dead since season 3, she was the person who was standing next to Phoenix when he appeared on the field and caught the ball that was flying towards him before it hit him in the face and she took it upon himself to get him acclimated to the game, she thought of him as a kid brother, she tried to keep Maya away from blaseball but couldn’t stop her from watching on TV, she originally joined to get away from the Fey clan and to try and do something with her life and also possibly find out what happened to her mother and she was promised social power and unlimited access to information
Notable Forbidden Knowledge: really solid statline for someone who never saw any improvements
Phoenix and Miles get together around season 6, right before the Jaylen stuff, then break up because they were both having a lot of emotions about the whole necromancy business and Miles was always on the idol board and there was a lot of uncertainty in their lives. I think a necromancy of Kristoph probably happens in the Expansion Era and he tries to get revenge on Phoenix for god knows what, and Miles ends up getting close with him again after a whole Grand Siesta of just being really emotionally charged friends and finally get together AGAIN in season 13 after a consumer attacks Phoenix, but this time they STAY together and probably get married because they're just so scared of losing each other.
Kay gets to fight god in season 9, no this probably wouldn't have been possible if she was a shadows player originally but uwu <3
Kay and Miles get to know each other because she tried to steal Miles shoes, but he caught her. He offered to make her dinner and they just had a good time, Kay hadn’t really been shown that kind of kindness in a WHILE and she... missed that sort of father figure in her life... so she just keeps trying to steal things from Miles and getting caught until he finally tells her that she can just... come over through the front door. He will never say that she is his daughter out loud, but the collective dadconcious Knows, and tells him that they are proud of him.
Maya and Franziska are rivals. They hate each other. When Maya gets 0 no it only makes it worse because it "ruins" Franziska's perfection as a pitcher and forces her to throw balls. They get to know each other over these pitch offs and start to realize that they actually aren't that different. Gay rights. They kiss. They have a great time over the Grand Siesta and make fun of their brothers, but they both have emergency bags in case the other one dies.
Dahlia Hawthrone would never get involved in Blaseball and everything she does is outside of the game but if she was she'd be on the Boston Flowers and she would be her team's Pudge. A god awful player who on occasion actually does something good and half the fans love her because of her character and half the fans hate her for the same reason and also she sucks at the game.
Most of them also still have their law degrees and also keep some semblance of what they do in the actual ace attorney games, except Ema who has of course factually failed the bar exam by nature of being on The Breath Mints.

I know Peanut generation 9 is still posting but, I just aged our generation 10 heir up. To me this means legacy = complete?! I’ve never got to generation 10 before so I’m super excited 🥳
Also wanted to talk about how much money they have at the end. They are hecking rich:
The house / lot costs:         $873,698 The household funds are:  $5,325,477                                            ---------------- total:                                    $6,199,175
My current plan for generation 10 is... to move the heir out. I’ve got a large house shell I want her to live in. I’ve put down cheap appliances and decorated the first floor. It costs about 75k. I’m going to move the household here and mainly focus on the heir. Then I’ll convert Nutty Place (the main house) into a retail lot and purchase it. I’ll then put ALL funds into the retail lot so I can’t use it. This will mean I still have my money and house but can’t really use it. I’ll leave the heir with $0 and some expensive bills to pay; which will be fun I think.
Gunna use the retail lot / main house (Nutty Place) to keep my ghosts. That’s right, I get to actually speed through the night instead of watching the ghosts for 5-10minutes. I’ll also use it to pretend the rest of the fam still live here. That way I can keep them in the household but not have to look after them (until they die).
Idunno if I’ll wait for a new pack to come out before playing generation 10. I might start now as I’m enjoying Sims at the moment but we’ll see.
tl;dr I FINISHED MY LEGACY and have a plan to keep my money because I’m a hoarder.

They need souls to open coffins or smth
I REALIZED MY MIC IS MUTED SO THEY CAN’T HEAR ME SING THE GOLDEN GIRLS THEME SONG THE WAY MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER DOES HAHAHAHHAHA
Thank you for being a friend
Bum bum bum bum
Travel round the world and back again
If the truth be told you’re a friend and a confidant
Etc

I’m just sitting here singing the golden girls theme song
Tunnel vision in smash
I’m just renegading while they talk smash
Jacob wants to home alone our house the next night we have
Immovable rod is abt 3ft long
Last time on dnd asyna heard a window break
Roll initiative
Aerana and theo roll 22
Asyna rolls 21
Adam 13
Cel 6
Asyna was waking everyone up
Halfling size ballista ? In our turret ? Maybe

Makes the one that hit theo make a wisdom saving throw
Did not make it, hideous laughter
Mans can't stop laughing, has to make wisdom saving throw each turn ig

Is this a short joke ?
I don't get it yikes
Panicked dom laughing
Tells us to not hit the guy laughing; save him for last
Bonus action uses cutting words on the one aerana is fighting; "fuck you"
Cel
I still kinda want another sandwich
To clarify my sandwich was like half
I think yesterday or smth I like hit my foot lol and I did the thing where I compose myself rlly quickly to ignore the pain and up my pain tolerance and it left a mark but like it literally doesn't hurt so not saying I'm upping my pain tolerance but one day if I ever got like idk shot or smth I'm not gonna have a reaction

Stabs him, hurts
Aerana
13
"next time remember it"
If an ally is within 5 ft of you you get sneak attack
If u have advantage
Don't need advantage if another enemy of the target is within 5 ft of it
Start over
When rogues have advantage, get to add sneak attack
Can add sneak attack when u don't have advantage if
One of allies is within 5 ft of you
And if u don't have disadvantage
Theo
Gonna try for the bow again
Going for the one asyna's fighting

Asyna makes attack of opportunity
I still kinda want another saaaandwich
Neither hit
Adam
33 across board for both for sleep; both fall over and hit ground, asleep
Adam goes outside and looks if anyone is watching outside their window
Looks like one of our neighbors is at their window out of the apothecary
Uses infernal legacy to cast darkness, blocking their darkvision
Puts it between fallah's house and bodies
Then drag the bodies
Adam is kinda sweaty n exerted
Aerana is watching ot, asyna takes one body cel adam and theo take the other
Theo is rolling damage
Cel binds their feet first and adam prepares sleep
Theo rolls 13 damage and one dies, other 15 and also dies

Sleeping downstairs shifts for the night
Adam takes first shift
Adam is sweating a lot, feeling a little odd; feels super weak and cold and feels a little sick like he might throw up
Constitution saving throw
"can I feel this coming and give myself bardic inspiration?"
"uh . Sure"
"hold it in hold it in hold it in"
Check to see if he can make it to the bathroom
"boi that's just nasty" adam wakes up someone ? Adam
Adam wakes theo up
"you must be real glad I'm wearing pants right now"
Rolls nat1
Adam vomits onto theo ? Vomits into theo's cloak
Adam becomes violently ill
The key eventually comes out the butt
A 4
Able to makes way down hatch towards bucket by ot

TROS FEELINGS
ASSORTED STAR WARS FEELINGS after the break.
Ok, I just sat down in front of my computer, and I haven't read any reviews or Hot Takes about the movie.  I went in completely unspoilered.  So these are all my instant thoughts after just seeing the film, and they are subject to change.
I was entertained but not impressed.
Palpatine is so incredibly cool.  Star Wars is a story about how cool Palpatine is.  How did he survive though?  And was it implied that Snoke was some kind of clone?  Made by Palpatine?  Why?  Why would you make a scarred, disfigured dude to go out and do your bidding?  And if you were going to make one, why not make a dozen and then never reveal yourself at all?
There were many "whys" in this movie.  Why did Kylo Ren---did he turn?  The Knights of Ren seemed to think so, but I don't know why.  And weren't they HIS followers?  Why were they suddenly defending Palpatine?  But back to--did Kylo really heel face turn because his mom said his name and then died?  And because Rey healed the hole that SHE stabbed in him, while gaslighting him with his deadname?  Was that all it took?  No thank you.  Rejected.
Also, Hux's death: rejected.  Kylo's death also rejected.  Palpatine's death also rejected.  I guess the spirits of the Jedi prevented him from inhabiting Rey's body and continuing the legacy of the Sith?  Unclear on how that worked.
In general, the movie was very complicated and dense, which is not a bad thing.  There was also some wonky pacing and a lot of expository dialogue.  These are things that I usually appreciate in a story, because my internal processing speed is different than most peoples', so wonky pacing and exposition help me keep a grasp on What's Going On more than action.  And ok, here's a thing that needs to be said.  If you watch the old movies from the 70s, the pacing--including simple things like the length of shots and frequency of cuts--they are MUCH slower paced than the prequels and MUCH MUCH slower paced than the sequel trilogy.  This is because movies have gotten FASTER and DENSER as each generation increases the speed with which they can process visual information, as we learn the language of film intuitively as children.  So I wasn't too put off by that, even though films that a lot of people younger than me like (like Grindlewald, for example) feel fast and dense and overwhelming to my old brain.
Some positives: so much good Sith worldbuilding.  Lots of cool aliens.  Good snek.  Complicated and fractious relationships amongst the heros.  Funny C3PO.  Solid first hour or so?  Though I may revisit that later.  I appreciated Leia training Rey, and the explicit nature of Rey's alliance to the Jedi, which I've remarked on before (to a lot of skepticism from the peanut gallery.)  Also, I thought introducing Force Healing was a bold move--though this was one of the things that knocked on the door of my brain and said "Your disbelief is still suspended, right?" and I said "yes of course please leave."
Neutrals: Rey Palpatine was a hoot.  I'm going to have to see it again before I have strong opinions about it, but I will.  The execution made it seem like a complete and utter retcon, even though I don't think it was?  IDK, mixed thoughts.
Some (of many) silly things.  Poe's romance and backstory.  Lack of Rose.  Too many walkbacks and "almosts"--Chewie almost dying, C3PO almost being erased, etc. etc.  No mention of the Rose/Finn kiss.  Random kiss between to Resistance fighters that the story tries to pretend is queer representation (GTFO).  Leia's death--I'm not upset that she died, I'm just kind of put off by how random and out of place it felt?  Like, the story halted for it to happen?  Continuing on.  Lack of Vader and/or Padme.  Rey on Tattooine for some reason?  Lando wasted.  It was AWESOME to see Lando but I felt like he was wasted, like there wasn't enough room for his character or explanation of why he was there and where he'd been.
Some more silly things.  The use of the Carrie footage was just janky.  I might not have noticed that if I wasn't looking for it, though.  I bet little kids won't notice.  Another thing little kids might not pick up on: it doesn't mean anything that the First Order has been defeated at the end.  Because they've been defeated like 6 times already.  They keep undefeating themselves, springing back up, same people, same conflicts.  It diminishes the meaning of the victories.  Even things like the Chosen One trope aren't meaningful if dozens of people are the Chosen One.
Another thing.  It didn't feel like anything that happened in this movie was planned when TFA was written.  I mean, we know that these movies were not written according to any kind of overarching plan--we know, for example, that Poe was supposed to die in TFA.  So I kind of wish that Rey Palpatine and Palpatine's rise in general has been hinted at more and built up more over the last two movies.  But TROS is not the end of a 3 movie arc, it's the end of a 9 movie arc, and so if nothing in the last two movies seems to build to this conclusion, it may still feel like a conclusion to all 9.  Or at least a spring board for fanfiction.
Ok I am going to go read what everyone else thought now.

50 questions tag
I’m avoiding doing any real work, so here it goes!
Tagged by: @yoonkitty
What colors is your hairbrush? I actually only brush my hair in the shower with a clear pink wide-tooth comb (curly hair ftw)
What food would you never eat? I actually really hate dimsum because I don't like the food at all, you will never catch me at one again
Are you usually hot or cold? my hands and feet are typically always cold, but my face is usually always hot
What did you do 45 minutes ago? I was on a conference call with some of the girls at work, we have Friday morning breakfast calls now that we don’t see each other in the office due to quarantine, we chat and eat breakfast together uwu.
Favorite chocolate? DARK CHOCOLATE with almonds preferably
Have you ever been to a professional sports event? Yep I’ve seen the national soccer team of Brazil play Mexico a few years back, I’ve also seen every New England team play: Red Sox (baseball), Patriots (football), Bruins (hockey), and Celtics (basketball) but I assure you that I am not a sports person. They're just a fun way to hang out and drink with friends or co-workers
What was the last thing you said out loud? ”I’ll take care of it” I told my husband as I was talking about cutting my dogs nails
Favorite ice cream flavor? avocado
What was the last thing you drank? my smoothie? does that count? I have the same smoothie every morning (almond milk, blueberries, kale/spinach, oatmeal, flax seeds, almonds/walnuts, peanut butter, cinnamon, and banana)
What kind of wallet do you have? a small one that just fits my cards and cash, I don't like carrying around a purse
What was the last thing you ate? again, my smoothie?
Did you buy clothes last weekend? no, I don’t really buy clothes
What was the last sports event you saw? hockey, it’s my favorite sport to watch live, there’s a lot happening at once, it’s never boring
Who was the last person you texted? my son
Do you like camping? I love it, haven’t been in a while. I usually only do one-day hiking trips
Do you eat vitamins? I guess the foods I eat have vitamins? so yes?
When was the last time you traveled? traveled.. you can say I travel all the time in the city and whatnot, but purposefully traveled would be my vacation last August to the White Mountains.
Do you like sunbathing? not really, only for short amount of times

Who was the last person you talked to? minha mãezinha (my momma)
Do you eat meat? I was pescatarian for a few months and it was hard to go over a friend’s house and such. So when I decide what to eat, it’s vegan/pescetarian, but when I go over people’s houses or places with no vegan options I just get the least harmful non-vegan thing. What would you like to try to do? And what is stopping you? I’d like to study for the 6 architectural exams to become a licensed architect, but honestly, life just gets in the way.
I’d like to tag: @dollwithluv @meowxyoong @starlightseoks @interludemoonchild @jiminsfault @out-of-jams

1. Are you enjoying yourself?
For the most part. There are some rough days, but I’m still kickin. :)
2. Do you miss how life used to be?
A little bit. I like getting out of the house sometimes but I’m alright being home for now. I mostly miss being able to hang out and see my friends.
3. What are you doing with your time now that you're home?
Working on school work mostly, but I’ve also spent more time writing fiction, playing some video games (namely Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection), watching movies with friends over streaming, and anything else that occupies time.
4. What drinks do you have in the fridge right now?
Iced tea, milk, Vanilla Pepsi
5. What snacks do you have in your house right now?
Oreos, a bag of Doritos, Cheez-Its (original and white cheddar.) I am the epitome of health.
6. When was the last time you stepped outside, and what for?
Yesterday. I stepped outside to go for a walk, take out the trash, and I also went to work to pick up my check (I am not paid via direct deposit.)
7. What's a book you hope to read while quarantined?
I have a book of classic World War 1 stories. I’ve been interested in the history of WW1 recently and I’d like to get around to reading that once school slows down at the end of the month.
8. What's a goal you hope to achieve while being quarantined?
I want to stay safe and I would like to write a lot. Specifically, I’d like to be able to write and complete a brand new story. Both are goals that I have been achieving so far.
9. How long do you think you can last like this?
A pretty long time. I live a very simple and introverted existence so when the quarantine first happened, my life didn’t change very much.I would like the option to go to certain places for fun when I would like to, but I’m still doing alright. Haven’t gone too crazy yet.
10. What is the last thing you've read?
“The Suffering Channel“ by David Foster Wallace. It’s a short story/novella, which is aptly named because I suffered through the entire thing while reading it. I hated every single word of it. Wallace was a better essay/literary theory writer than he was a prose writer.
11. What show are you catching up on?
Star Trek: The Next Generation and Power Rangers: In Space (the former I’m watching in full for the first time, the latter I’m rewatching just for some nostalgic fun.)
12. Are you a "stay in pajamas all day kind" of person?
Yup. If I’m gonna be stuck at home, it’s real comfy hours.
13. What time did you go to sleep last night?
Around 12:30 AM. Which is earlier than when I’ve usually been going to bed recently.
14. What time did you wake up today?
A little after 8:00 AM.
15. Are you staying active?
Trying to. I usually try to go for a walk every day or two.
16. Are you staying hydrated?
Yes, mom.
17. How long do you think this quarantine will last?
Forever if people don’t stop fucking around. Realistically, I’m hoping it lasts until the end of April, though if it has to get extended into May I’ll survive. Any longer than that and we’re in even bigger trouble than we are already in.
18. If you had to study one subject everyday for the rest of this quarantine, what would you study?
Popular Music history.
19. How much weight do you suppose you'll put on by the time this quarantine is over?
I don’t know (It shouldn’t matter whether I do or not. This question is rude.)
20. What's your favorite board game?
I don’t really have one... I don’t play board games a lot.
21. What's your favorite card game?
I don’t really have one...
23. What's your favorite tv show?
WKRP in Cincinnati
24. What's your favorite snack?
Cheez-Its or peanuts
I just discovered that the ask post I’m referring to doesn’t have a “22” or a “25”, so I’m gonna pick two random questions to answer in place of them.
46. Tell me something positive.
If you could see yourself from my perspective, I think you’d like what you see and you’d realize just how good a friend you are and what makes you special in this world.
50. Tell me an interesting fact.
Did you know male echidnas have four-headed penises? You’ll never look at Knuckles from the Sonic the Hedgehog games the same way again...
Thank you for asking!!
From this post. Feel free to ask something if you would like. :)

A Second Decade of Movies
Ten years ago on Facebook, I compiled a list of every movie I watched, in order, from the first decade of the network’s existence. Now, here’s part two, covering the years 2010-2019. There are 754 titles below, though some are repeat viewings. The movie I watched the most? Harold Lloyd in “The Freshman.” My favorite movie from the last decade? “The Tree of Life.”
But I began the 2010s with James Cameron’s mega-hit “Avatar.” I’ll go on record saying the movie is still enjoyable ten years later, as I watched it again in 2019 with my kids to prep for visiting the World of Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. But--I also agree with those who say there’s little remembered from the film in the culture today. Can you name the stars? Recount the plot in detail? Mostly what we remember from the film is the spectacle of it all, game-changing when it was released in 2009.
At any rate, enjoy the list below! If a title is hotlinked, it will take you to an essay, interview, or related coverage on the film by yours truly.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Apollo Connection That "giant leap" from 50 years ago - when Neil Armstrong became the first human to step onto the surface of the Moon - is imprinted on several generations. Some savor that day as a treasured memory, while for others, it's an inspirational chapter in history books. While NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, has long been associated with robotic missions rather than ones involving astronauts, the Lab helped pave the way for the historic Apollo missions that took humans to the Moon. Here are three contributions by JPL: Hard Landings JPL was tasked in the 1960s with designing and building a series of impact probes, called Rangers, designed to fly to the Moon and crash into it, and return images to Earth. The Lab's successful Mariner 2 mission to Venus was a modified Ranger spacecraft, but when it came to the Moon, "The Rangers ran into lots of trouble, with several failed missions," said JPL Historian Erik Conway. Seven became the lucky number for the program, when Ranger 7 collided with the Moon on July 31,1964. (In a lighthearted moment, team members attributed the success to the fact that someone in mission control was eating peanuts. Since then, JPL teams have broken out peanuts for luck during milestone events, such as Mars landings and spacecraft orbit insertions.) The program ended in 1965, after Rangers 8 and 9 also proved successful. One lesson learned from the Ranger missions was that the Moon has rocks, lots of them - a reality that would prove challenging for future missions to land astronauts on the surface. A Softer Approach Instead of building in-house, JPL developed the next generation of lunar spacecraft, the Surveyors, under a systems management contract with Hughes Aircraft. "These were intended to land a very large, broad variety of scientific instruments," Conway said. The wrinkle was that Surveyor development began before the upper Centaur stage of the launch vehicle was ready, so engineers didn't know how much payload it could hoist. Because of that, Surveyor 1 carried only a TV camera - no scientific instruments. And its official mission requirements were simple by today's standards, according to Conway: "They had to survive the mid-course correction, land, and send back good engineering data." A third goal - not a requirement - was to send back television pictures. Surveyor 1 succeeded on all three counts, landing successfully on June 2, 1966, and beaming back thousands of pictures. Once the engineers learned the capabilities and capacity of the launch vehicle, they added instruments to subsequent landers. Five of the seven Surveyors were successful, and the missions answered a key question that would face the Apollo program: "How strong is the lunar surface? There had been some fear that the landers would merely sink into dust, and that would be bad," Conway said. He added that while a Soviet probe had already demonstrated that the fear was probably groundless, the Surveyor series used engineering instruments that "really nailed that down." In the lull between the Surveyors and the Apollo program, there was a plan to have a version of a Surveyor tote a lunar rover, but the Surveyor program was cancelled before that rover flew. The rover hung around JPL for a long time, eventually becoming a prototype for the Mars rover program. A Parallel Network for Space Talk NASA'S human spaceflight program, based at what is now Johnson Space Center in Houston, originated at Langley Research Center in Virginia via an organization called the Space Task Group. It was set up before Apollo for the Mercury program. The Mercury and Gemini programs used a ground-based tracking and communication system called the Manned Space Flight Network and run by Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. It could not be adapted for use outside Earth orbit, so, Conway said, "They decided to make a clone of [JPL's] Deep Space Network," an array of giant radio antennas. The Apollo program needed full-time communications support, and JPL had its own missions, so DSN engineers helped design and operate a "parallel network." After the Apollo program ended, the DSN inherited the equipment. Since then, the DSN has kept the legacy alive by providing communications for a very long roll call of missions - for NASA and other space agencies. Managed by JPL, the DSN will play a central role in NASA's Artemis lunar explorations and the agency's plans for astronauts to one day go beyond the Moon to Mars. TOP IMAGE....Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., lunar module pilot, walks on the surface of the Moon near a leg of the Lunar Module during the Apollo 11 extravehicular activity (EVA) on July 20, 1969. Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong, Apollo 11 commander, took this photograph with a 70mm lunar surface camera. The astronauts' bootprints are visible in the foreground. While astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin descended in the Lunar Module Eagle to explore the Sea of Tranquility region of the Moon, astronaut Michael Collins, command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules Columbia in lunar orbit. CENTRE IMAGE....Ranger 7 took this image, the first picture of the Moon by a U.S. spacecraft, on 31 July 1964 at 13:09 UT (9:09 AM EDT) about 17 minutes before impacting the lunar surface. The area photographed is centered at 13 S, 10 W and covers about 360 km from top to bottom. The large crater at center right is the 108 km diameter Alphonsus. Above it is Ptolemaeus and below it Arzachel. The terminator is at the bottom right corner. Mare Nubium is at center and left. Nor this at about 11:00 at the center of the frame. The Ranger 7impact site is off the frame, to the left of the upper left corner. (Ranger 7, B001) The Ranger series of spacecraft were designed solely to take high-quality pictures of the Moon and transmit them back to Earth in real time. The images were to be used for scientific study, as well as selecting landing sites for the Apollo Moon missions. Ranger 7 was the first of the Ranger series to be entirely successful. It transmitted 4,308high-quality images over the last 17 minutes of flight, the final image having a resolution of 0.5 meter/pixel. Ranger 7 was launched July 28, 1964 and arrived at the Moon on July 31, 1964. Surveyor 1, the first of the Surveyor missions to make a successful soft landing, proved the spacecraft design and landing technique. In addition to transmitting over 11,000 pictures, it sent information on the bearing strength of the lunar soil, the radar reflectivity, and temperature. Surveyor 1 was launched on May 30, 1966 and landed on June 2, 1966. Image Credit: NASA/JPL

betrayal never comes from the enemy...
(a character analysis)
basic information
FULL NAME: boris korov PRONUNCIATION: BO-ris KO-rov MEANING: boris - fight, fighter. REASONING: his father named him long before he was born. boris, fighter, if he was a boy. sezia, protector, if he’d been born a girl. for his father, his child (regardless of gender) was to be his legacy -- he meant for the name ‘korov’ to mean something. boris is not as ambitious as his father; he’s more of a follower than a leader, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t follow his father’s words. (it is lesser known that is mother called him borya, little snatches of affection he holds close to his chest.)  NICKNAME(S): brutus, borya PREFERRED NAME(S): brutus BIRTH DATE: december 23rd AGE: 33 ZODIAC: capricorn GENDER: male PRONOUNS: he/him/his ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: panromantic SEXUAL ORIENTATION: heterosexual (while boris has experienced attraction towards multiple genders, he only ever acts on it with women) NATIONALITY: russian ETHNICITY: alaskan native; kuyokan-athabascan CURRENT LOCATION: verona, italy LIVING CONDITIONS: simple & stark, though he has the means for a more luxurious life. TITLE(S): emissary
background
BIRTH PLACE: yekatrinburg, russia HOMETOWN: verona, italy (since he was a teen) SOCIAL CLASS: boris was born poor. his father earned well enough through his criminal dealings, but spent it just as quickly -- he was a man who enjoyed life and didn’t believe in the notion of saving. boris himself made his way up  EDUCATION LEVEL: boris’ education is haphazard and all over the place due to the instability of his father’s career. he completed his 12th year in italy, but went back to russia to spend some time in the conscripted army. boris didn’t return to school for a while, focusing more on mafia activities. he did return to school and started a degree in strategic management when he left verona, but dropped the program when he returned to the Montagues. FATHER: vadim korov MOTHER: juniper korov née locklear SIBLING(S): talia korov (deceased before boris’ birth) BIRTH ORDER: i. talia -- ii. boris CHILDREN: n/a PET(S): a moroccoan uromastyx named ‘lizard’ OTHER IMPORTANT RELATIVES: cousin -- ava locklear (located in america); niece -- sonya locklear (located in america) PREVIOUS RELATIONSHIPS: n/a ARRESTS?: a couple times for teenage stupidity, but his connections to the mafia meant he always got off PRISON TIME?: n/a

Sims 4 Cats and Dogs Flavor Legacy Challenge
Rules:
Your sim and pet must represent their generation. (hair/fur color, clothing, etc.)
You may play on whatever lifespan.
You may cheat to get the lot on gen 1 but you must reduce your money to 2,500
Tag your legacy posts as #c&dflavorlegacy
No cheating, unless if you are trying to get Triplets for Gen 8
You’re allowed to change the colors of your pet and paint them to make them match the generation but not their physical features.
You can choose whether to focus on the dog or the cat and play through that species’ offspring for the heirs of each next generation.
We suggest doing the Cat version for a more laid back play through, and the Dog version for a more challenging version.
Note that some generations will have more than one sim heir, and some generations require that you have both a dog and a cat but you must continue with the same species you were working with before.
