How big is the Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus crispus)? Pretty darn big. 😳 One of the world’s largest flying animals, this mighty bird has a wingspan of 11 ft (3.4 m) and weighs up to 28 lbs (12.7 kg). It can be spotted in parts of Eastern Europe to China during breeding season, and in the Mediterranean during winters. It prefers to inhabit wetlands, where it can find fish such as carp and eel.Photo: Sue Cro, CC BY-NC 2.0, flickr
I’m so happy that The Boy and The Heron gives representation as to how truly disgusting birds are. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little feathered freak, but those guys are nasty as hell.
