Serendipity arrives when you least expect it, and always at perfect timing.

Several months ago I planned a trip back to Europe to see my friends for summer 2024. Out of eagerness, I booked a one-way flight for $500 to London (first-class) thinking that I landed an amazing deal. However, after the excitement wore off I realized that buying this ticket was a mistake. I found a roundtrip ticket for $200 on my favorite airline a couple of weeks later, and I tried to figure out a means to sell my $500 one-way.

This morning, my one-way Norwegian flight was cancelled. It was out of the blue and they refunded me the $500. Now, I can use this money towards my other expenses to 5 countries.

I couldn't be happier. This trip will probably be the only one I can afford for awhile but it was meant to be. This is confirmation of that fact. :)

(((Image is of Prague-- one of the locations that I'm most excited for on my trip. I can't write to write here.

Since I'll be abroad for 3 weeks, I'm planning to write a novella while resuming my life in cafés and wandering beautiful streets at dawn.))))

"I cannot tell you the complete, fundamental shift that I have felt in the year since having surgery. I knew that I wanted top surgery for a decade; it's the longest I've ever thought about doing anything. The place where I went, I had that clinic's website open on my laptop for five years. It was this impossible mountain: I want that, but I'm never gonna get it. No one's gonna let me, blah, blah, blah. To have that be in the past now... I stand differently, I walk differently, I carry myself differently. It feels different in my body than it ever has. I have just never been happier. I've never been more centered. I've never felt more stable and present and alive. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. It’s taught me a lot. The recovery process taught me about rest, accepting help, and caring for my body as something connected to me rather than separate from me, that I’m in opposition to: This is mine and I want to take care of it. I feel good in it and good about it. Part of cis people's fear around gender-affirming surgery is the fear of surgery at all — 'Oh, my God, but that's painful and scary!' My reaction to that is, 'No, no, you misunderstood. It was painful before. Your worry has kicked in at the wrong time. The right time to be concerned was about the pain I was in before this. I'm great now.' Everybody else's concern for me has been on a delay. There's no need to be concerned anymore. That's so freeing."

When I left for the trip, I had only booked my flight to Singapore and my flight back to New York from Sydney.

I used to book everything in advance, but I decided for this trip I would try booking things last minute for a change and I'm glad I did. It just so happened that my cousin @shiyiooi was in KL and she and @htleong were headed back to Penang around when I was planning on heading to Penang so I was able to hitch a ride with them. I also happened to be on the way and we were all headed to the same place so it worked out perfectly!

We had a delicious family dinner and then listened to some live rock music to finish off the night! The next morning I got to have my aunt and uncle's delicious curry mee for breakfast and it was a lot of fun riding my uncle @teooimy 's motorcycle there and back! It's been a while since I've been a passenger on a motorcycle!

My #HB90 system for November during @nanowrimo. I have already gotten three rewards for myself, handwrote 15K words, typed another 12K and I am on a roll.
