i really don’t know if this is the case for other people, but i feel like many more people would go vegetarian or at least reduce their meat consumption if they had any kind of contact with the types of animals they eat. like it’s one thing to look at a picture of a cow and think “wow, kind of sucks that that’s where meat comes from,” and another entirely to see and touch a cow and know that it might get killed for meat eventually.
idk, i don’t need someone trying to show me videos of slaughterhouses to make me disgusted by animal agriculture, i just need to pet cows more
while visiting my grandma's property i took everyone on a nature walk to tell them about all the plants :>
1) they were insistent on me using my line tattoo (it is to measure dbh-diameter at breast height, which is where you measure a tree's diameter for research purposes 😌)
2) teaching them about western red bud and how it is in the fabaceae family. it had flowers, leaves, and last years fruits (legumes)
3) pic of me watching them find the different parts on the red bud (and telling them not to eat the legumes lol)
Corn, cauliflower, kale, & lettuce! Veggie gardens are always cheaper than store bought plus you know where it’s been & whats on/in it! Everything from seed by me except the kale… once again @ the Mothers Day Plant Sale!
