== Love Notes ==
Hey there lovelies-- I've had 3 hrs sleep today so the words on the screen are starting to run together. I'm still getting love notes from yesterdays request, and thank you so much, I promise i'm catching up to the messages, you all are the best crew someone could ask for. Thank you for spreading some joy in this crazy ass world.
Tonight I would like to send a reminder that we have not lost OFMD, as so many of said, we still have 2 wonderful seasons, and those boyfriends are currently boinking their way into oblivion in their inn, making their poor customers insane. But beyond that... had a discussion today with multiple dear friends / crewmates that made me feel a lot better about the whole thing too. I know it's months in the gravy basket now, but this is not the end for OFMD. Chaos Dad told us it was over, but in all honesty it still doesn't feel over. WBD is driving itself into the ground, Dad's been off at the WBD lot, it feels like things are moving in a better direction again. It may not be today, or tomorrow, or even the next few months, or a year or so, but I think we still have a chance to see the ending of our story.
And we've all said it before, but it bears repeating, even if it never happens, we get to make it happen. Stede and Ed live on in all our crazy ranges of work out there, that so many of you have been just CRANKING out lately, I've been astonished at how much new work I've seen from folks in the the fandom I know, and new folks I haven't met! It's so inspiring to see OFMD affect people so much that they felt they could put little pieces of themselves out into the world through art of all mediums.
I hope I'm making sense at this point.. if not, sorry about that! But know-- there's always hope. There's always S1 and S2, and the infinite universes we get to dream up from those two.
Rest Well lovelies. Img Src: @Chucklesandbleu on IG

the one thing that makes me feel better about what we didn't get this season (more time with everyone who wasn't ed and stede), is that if we do get a s3, they won't be in a hurry to drive the edstede plot to its conclusion because we all know it's gonna be all about them growing and healing and learning how to be together so they can get married at the end of the season and live happily ever after.
they'd have all the time in the world for that, so hopefully we'd get to spend more time with everyone else, too, see what the crew gets up to if ed and stede decide to retire, if they keep sailing or retire with them.
I could see roach offering to be the cook for their new inn, for instance, and I think lucius would be happy to walk away from piracy after everything he's been through, and pete would follow him anywhere. olu has captain potential, and jim and archie are two chaos gremlins who'd be more than happy to stay pirates on a ship like the revenge with him. maybe fang could become a fisherman? frenchie could take over the world if he wanted to, I'd be delighted to see what he gets up to.
i think it would be nice to continue what they started with swede and buttons this season, watch the family grow up and pursue their own aspirations but still come together every now and then because they are a family and they love each other

▸   @xonlypainx   ⟶   ❛  "Dude. Do you wanna hit up village inn and write poetry?" (To Michael)  ❜
“Dude,” Michael responded, giving Pete a nearly incredulous look.  “When have I ever not wanted to hang out at the Village Inn?”  The usual waitress was a nightmare of a woman, but her bitching at them was part of the fun.  It only became more hilarious the older they got.
Michael pulled his coat over his arms and snapped up his composition notebook.  “I’ve actually been working on more short stories than poetry lately.  I’m trying to put together a horror collection.”  He had picked a couple of bizarre short story collections out of the bookstore some months ago, and they touched him, chilled him to the bone in a way few poems had.  Poetry was still fine, and he still wrote it, but there was something more liberating about prose.
“I can drive us,” he said, taking a long stride over the threshold of his front door.  “Unless you want to.”

LUCY’S GREEN THUMB!
Lucy’s Plants, Flowers, and other Botanical Delights
Tumblr media
Plants and flowers bloomed and grew as fast as Lucille Ball’s career!  Here are a few moments that feature our botanical world.
Tumblr media
One of (blonde) Ball’s first roles in Hollywood was as flower store clerk in Top Hat (1935) selling flowers to Fred Astaire to send to Ginger Rogers.
Tumblr media
In real life, Lucille Ball loved plants and flowers and grew them in gardens in all her homes.
Tumblr media
Her favorite flowers were peonies and lilacs which grew quite well in the East where she was raised.
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball at home watering the houseplants in her rose pattern dress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Mother-in-Law” (1949) ~ George's allergic mother comes to visit. Liz hopes to drive her out by spreading ragweed and other allergy-inducing plants around the house. Katie the maid is angry because Mother Cooper has burst into her room to confiscate her roses.  Liz reminds her that Mother Cooper is allergic to roses.
KATIE: “Four Roses?”
Katie is inferring that Mrs. Cooper has an affinity for whiskey.
Tumblr media
“I LOVE LUCY”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"We have real furniture, real plumbing, and a real kitchen where we serve real food. Even the plants are really growing; they're not phony." ~ Desi Arnaz, about the ‘I Love Lucy’ set
Tumblr media
Some glimpses of plants and flowers on the set of “I Love Lucy.”
Tumblr media
“The Black Eye” (1953) ~ In order to patch things up between Lucy and Ricky (who he believes are feuding) Fred orders Lucy some flowers from Ricky with the help of Pete the florist (Bennett Green). Before shutting the box of roses and hastily scribbling the card, Fred tells Pete to put in some gladiolas, too.
Tumblr media
When Lucy later opens the box of flowers, however, the gladdies are nowhere to be seen! We discover that Fred has accidentally signed his own name to the card, instead of Ricky’s.
Tumblr media
The episode opens with Lucy reading a thriller novel with a large houseplant behind the sofa.
Tumblr media
“Ethel’s Hometown” (1954)
Tumblr media
TV Guide - July 1953. The home in question was The Long, Long Trailer.
Tumblr media
“Hollywood at Last!” (1955)
Tumblr media
“Lucy Raises Tulips” (1957)
Tumblr media
Lucy competes with Betty Ramsey (Mary Jane Croft) for Westport Garden Club’s ‘Best Garden,’ a title that Betty has held for three years running.
Tumblr media
Both women are growing tulips. We are told that Lucy’s are pink, and Betty’s are yellow. It’s a shame this episode is not in color!
Tumblr media
When Lucy takes charge of the rider mower, the landscape changes for the worse... including the garden! The replacement plastic tulips wilt in the summer sun!
Tumblr media
“Lucy Makes Room for Daddy” (1958) ~ When subletting their home to the Williams’ Lucy worries they won’t take care of her houseplants. When Ricky finds out she's been secretly caring for them against his wishes, she physically demonstrates how badly wilted they'd become.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Takes a Cruise To Havana” (1958) ~ Lucy and Katie (Ann Sothern) drop flower pots off their hotel balcony, which leads them to serving time in a Havana jail!
“THE LUCY SHOW”
Tumblr media
TV Guide - September 1962
Tumblr media
“No More Double Dates” (1963) ~ Background performer Bess Flowers sits in front of a centerpiece of flowers while Lucy and Harry stand in front of a spray of fresh flowers.
Tumblr media
“Ethel Merman and the Boy Scout Show” (1964) ~ Merman sing “Everything’s Coming Up Roses” surrounded by roses!
Tumblr media
“Lucy Saves Milton Berle” (1965) ~ To track down the star, Lucy disguises herself as a poor but humble flower seller, much in the manner of Eliza Doolittle.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Soap Opera” (1966) ~ To spy on the writer of her favorite show, Lucy disquises herself as a gardener, spraying insecticide on his plants and flowers.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Gets Trapped” (1967) ~ Lucy's plan to skip work to go shopping backfires when she becomes the 10-millionth customer. She’s draped in roses like a winning racehorse!
Tumblr media
“Lucy the Fight Manager” (1967) ~ Lucy helps a washed-up boxer (Don Rickles) get in shape to win a bout so he can open a flower shop.
EDDIE: “This plant has a bad case of root rot!” LUCY: “We’ll root out the root rot later!”
Tumblr media
“Lucy's Mystery Guest” (1967) ~ Lucy Carmichael is plant-sitting for a neighbor when her health nut Aunt (Mary Wickes) sprays the plant for bugs, and it promptly wilts.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Gets Mooney Fired” (1967) ~ To make Mr. Cheever believe he’s overworked to the point of delusions, Lucy makes his potted palm grow like a beanstalk!
“HERE’S LUCY”
Tumblr media
“Lucy Protects Her Job” (1969) ~ Harry gives Lucy roses, despite saying he was allergic to them in “Lucy and Harry's Tonsils”. He says they cost $12.50 a dozen.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Mannix are Held Hostage” (1971) ~ Lucy Carter suddenly starts naming and talking to her plants. Their names are Ruthie, Hugo, and Priscilla. Ruthie meets an untimely end when she is tossed out a window in an attempt to stop a robbery.
Tumblr media
“Lucy’s Vacation” (1971) ~ Lucy water the boss instead of the plant!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Donny Osmond” (1972) ~ Flowers for Kim!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Her Prince Charming” (1972) ~ To marry off Lucy to a handsome prince (Ricardo Montalban), Harry has the house bedecked in an explosion of flowers for the ceremony.
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Eva Gabor are Hospital Roomies” (1972) ~ Harry brings flowers to the hospital. Lucy mistakenly believes they are for her!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and the Chinese Curse” (1972) ~ When Lucy saves the life of a laundry owner (Keye Luke), he first shows his gratitude with a bouquet of flowers.
Tumblr media
“Lucy Goes To Prison” (1973) ~ Lucy’s cellmate Mumsie (Elsa Lanchester) calls the scrawny potted plants on her cell windowsill her 'family' and has named them Cynthia and Heathcliff. She hopes that by putting them side by side they will give her grandchildren!
Tumblr media
“Lucy and Danny Thomas” (1973) ~ An eccentric artist paints Lucy with a bouquet of flowers - and very little else.
Tumblr media
“Tipsy Through the Tulips” (1973) ~ Although the tulips of the title were nowhere to be seen, Lucy’s home was decorated with plants and flowers for the visit of a famous author (Foster Brooks) with a propensity for drink.
Tumblr media
“Mary Jane’s Boyfriend” (1974) ~ Mary Jane has a new boyfriend (Walter Butley) – who happens to fall for Lucy. He brings her a big bunch of flowers - while Mary Jane gets just a few blooms. Note: This looks like the same flowers used in “Lucy and the Chinese Curse” two years earlier!
“LIFE WITH LUCY”
Tumblr media
“Lucy’s Green Thumb” (1987) ~ In this unaired episode of “Life With Lucy”, Lucy Barker raises plants that grow at a rapid pace. She names them Melvin, Agnes, and Helga.
LUCY (To Melvin) “The free ride is over!  You either get growin' or get goin'!”
Tumblr media
The very first time Lucille Ball was seen on “Life With Lucy” she was moving into her daughter’s home carrying a potted plant (a schefflera). Lucy was afraid it had spider mites.
Tumblr media
The plants grow so quickly they threaten to take over the hardware shop, much in the style of Little Shop of Horrors. Coincidentally, Lucy is mentioned in the lyrics of the song “Somewhere That’s Green” from the musical.
Tumblr media
In 1991, a hybrid tea rose was christened the Lucille Ball Rose, doubtless because it’s distinctive apricot color is reminiscent of Lucille Ball’s hair!

I'm doing this because I care about you
Lucius is in a bad place after losing Pete, Izzy and the crew try to help. Also on AO3.
Izzy knew why he was still in the world. He’d been there for several days which was odd but he knew why. A few days prior he had popped into existence on the little sloop the crew had been using to get around when they weren’t at the inn and it was a raging storm. There wasn’t much he could do about it and he wondered why he was there. Until he saw Pete go over the edge.
Izzy had lost many crew that way; storms were ever present and always carried the risk of carrying someone off. Pete had gone into the water and Izzy felt drawn to him and he knew why he was there.
The crew above tried to get to Pete but to no avail. Pete went under the water and it wasn’t long before he and Izzy were standing face to face floating over the storm.
Pete asked Izzy to watch over Lucius and he promised to do his best but he was never sure how long he was going to stay. But when he saw the state Lucius was in he knew he would be there a bit.
He couldn’t blame the man of course. Losing a loved one like that was a horrible experience. Lucius was in bed most of the time, even after Izzy let him know that yes, he had taken Pete. Lucius had asked if his love had suffered and Izzy tried to infuse the little shark with love.
He wasn’t the only one taking care of Lucius of course, Roach kept bringing in food and everyone else tried to include him in things going on and checked in on him. It was nice to see that even after all these years and even after several losses the crew was still a family.
They would all be together again some day; though Izzy had no idea how that all worked once one got beyond the veil. He would get there eventually he supposed.
“We need you in the kitchen,” Jim said all but dragging Lucius out of bed. Lucius complied but dragged his feet as he came out.
“You need me for…cards.”
“Yep, we need one more person,” Olu said.
“And someone needs to keep an eye on Frenchie,” Zheng said.
“How dare you, I would never cheat,” Frenchie said.
Lucius sat down with a sigh, “Why are you doing this.”
“I’m doing this because I care about you,” Jim said, “And someone needs to watch Frenchie.”
“Rude,” Frenchie said.
Lucius sighed, “Fine.” Izzy watched them play cards and then they ate and Lucius managed to eat a little bit then he went back to his room.
“I want to be with you Pete,” Lucius said, “Sooner rather than later.”
A chill ran down Izzy’s spine. No, that wasn’t good. If Lucius was thinking about joining Pete, that wasn’t good at all. Izzy also wasn’t sure what he could do, he’d dealt with Ed’s issues for years, but he hadn’t always dealt with them well, especially at the end. It wasn’t Izzy who saved Ed, Ed saved himself really, but it was the hope of being with Stede that gave him just enough to pull himself out.
Izzy hadn’t done very well in life trying to help someone in a bad spot so how was he supposed to do it in death? Izzy sat down at the edge of the bed and made his presence known by moving the shark. Lucius looked at it and sighed.
“You don’t get to tell me what to do Izzy. Never were my Captain.”
Izzy knocked the shark off the bedside table.
“So what, you’re a disgruntled cat now? Fuck off Izzy. So what if I just want to curl into a ball and die? What do you care?”
“You’re my crew, always,” Izzy said and tried to impart that feeling on Lucius somehow. Death would come for him eventually and Izzy thought it was always better to carry on with it.
He’d only had a short amount of time between his attempt and his death and he was thankful he had that time. He was fucking lucky his hand slipped at the last moment and the bullet only grazed his forehead. He knew where Lucius was at but not really how to help. It had taken so much more to drive Izzy to it and he never would have if Ed hadn’t left a loaded gun in his hand, or if he hadn’t just lost his leg, or if he hadn’t been drunk.
“Please stay, you have a family that loves you,” Izzy said.
Lucius sighed.
“You’ll have forever to be with Pete, but I have a feeling the afterlife isn’t the same as here. I get to see you all but I can barely interact with the world and there are so many things I miss, please it’ll happen to you eventually but please stay,” Izzy said.
Lucius curled up in bed and Izzy had no idea if any of what he said gave off enough of a feeling for Lucius to feel.
Other members of the crew came in to check on Lucius throughout the day and Izzy watched over him at night. It was a slow few days of progress but  Lucius did get better, he did start to be able to peak out of his grief.
After a week of watching over him Izzy felt the familiar pull and faded away again.

Finale Predictions...
Please don't not read if you want to avoid spoilers...
Going into the S2 Finale of OFMD...I'm a writer myself and am quite afraid of which direction they will be tackling the ending. They've proven to us that a cookie-cutter version of a happy ever after isn't as easy as it seems, especially with two characters with such different dreams. And yet with the looming threat of not receiving a third season, I know that they still want to deliver some sort of closure. My thinking is...
-Ed will finally give up on piracy. We see in the sneak peeks of the finale that Ed is back in his leathers but we all know that the man is only doing it to save Stede and the crew, but after that? My man is dipping and probably into that crappy lil shack we've seen in the stills. Maybe Ed is gonna repair it, turn it into a home, or an inn or a fishing equipment shop. Who knows? Ed sure as hell doesn't but one thing is for certain. Ed needs to step away from everything to find himself and find out what he wants to do for the rest his life. A nice parallel that I'd like to see is for Ed to be the one that has to plan his own death. The world needs to think that Blackbeard is no more. Mary's last words in the final episode of Season 1 always manage to make me tear up, 'To Stede Bonnet, complicated , hard-headed, really quite irritating at times and now free. Long may he roam.'
It's Ed's turn to be free, time for him to roam and find himself.
-Stede will not be joining him. Unlike Ed, Stede knows what he wants. He wants to be a pirate captain! To sail the seas and go on fun adventures! His love of Ed aside, Stede does not want a monotonous life. At least not any time soon. I have an inkling that the image of the two merman holding a heart and a spear is the new jolly roger of Stede's ship. Why else would the two merman be making out the word 'Ed' with their fingers? It's a proclamation of love for him, a promise that Stede will return to Ed and wherever he goes, he carries Ed in his heart.
-I dont think that Izzy is going to die. (BITCH THEY BETTER NOT KILL HIM OFF, I JUST STARTED LIKING IZZY)i know that its typical in film that when a character goes on their heart-wrenching redemption arc, they are often killed and become a sort of martyr. Izzy's death makes the most sense but he deserves a jab at happiness and a life aside from Blackbeard. Izzy deserves silly adventures and to be loved. I just hope that the writers keep Izzy alive and make him Stede's first mate, but....its probably not likely....Some silly things I'd like to see are -when Ed finds Stede's letter I want us to find out that Stede did some silly shit like sign off on his letters with 'Sincerely, Your Stede' or to write 'P.S, I love you and always will'. i just cant wait to see Ed's reaction to the letter!
-How much of a fucking gag would it be if a seagull is perched on top of one if Stede's bottles, because literally no one BUT Ed knows for a fact that Buttons is a bird now, so he'd definitely take the seagull as a sign or something, so that's how he finds Stede's messages.
- If Izzy does die....they name the ship 'Izzy's Revenge' , a lil call back to when he took over after Ed and Stede left but this time, its to honor his memory and continue with his legacy. -Black Pete and Lucius wedding?? I mean, what better way to close off the show? We've been getting a lot of parallels with Stede and Ed's relationship vs Black Pete and Lucius's relationship. As Ed and Stede's relationship has sort of bittersweet ending, Black Pete and Lucius get the truly happy ending.
Gosh, I don't know what else to expect from the finale, its only 25 mins and weve got so much ground to cover. its literally driving me insane.

The regional feel is also felt with triple play nachos. You can even enjoy the pulled pork covered over Saratoga chips and queso blanco for $12. Montgomery Inn is known for its barbecue ribs, but fans can choose from pork sliders, a giant pork sandwich, and pulled pork nachos slathered in the restaurant’s signature barbecue sauce. There is also Glier’s Goetta sliders that sell for two for $5 goetta is a mixture of meat scraps and oats that is fried and usually served for breakfast in the region–similar to scrapple, but at the ballpark is also served over nachos. Pete Davidson One Shot
Based on the song Comfort Inn Ending
Tumblr media
You sigh, getting Pete's voicemail yet again.
It had been days since he had answered and you knew it had to be another girl.
It was always another girl.
The two of you weren't dating by any means but there was an understanding between you and whenever some new girl came into his life, he seemed to forget that.
You text him, asking to meet up and he gives you the normal 'I'm busy, maybe later.'
You roll your eyes seeing him all over socials which was funny since he doesn't have any.
'Yeah, you look super busy.'
You want to reply but don't, it would come off as clingy and borderline stalkerish and you weren't official so you really had no right.
He finally agrees to come over days later and even though you want to blow him off like he did with you, you can't help but let him.
As soon as you open your door you can see exactly what he was doing before he got there.
His eyes were glazed and redder than you had ever seen them, which you honestly didn't think was possible.
"What were you doing before you came here?"
You ask, knowing the answer wasn't just weed.
"Why do you always have to make a big deal out of it? It's not like you don't know already. Is this why you wanted me to come over? So you could police my life?"
He was irritated and defensive.
"No, I wanted you to come over because you've been blowing me off for days and I wanted to see you."
The hurt in your tone was on full display and instead of pushing it down with every other feeling you had for him, you let it stay at the surface.
He didn't stay long after that, neither one of you really feeling in the mood for anything after your argument.
It was all just too hard.
You decide to clear your mind of him, going out with some friends for some retail therapy.
"Don't you dare answer that."
Your friend says when your phone rings and you both see that its Pete.
"It could be important."
You try and justify what you are about to do with logic but they have been around long enough to know there was no such thing as logic when it came to you and Pete.
"Come meet me. I need to see you."
You groan, your heart telling you to go, your head telling you to stay.
"Just come. I'll text you the address."
Your friends were pissed when you told them you were leaving and if you were them, you would have been too but still you were drawn to him in a way that none of them could understand.
You get to the address and find him surrounded by people.
"Hey, I'm here, you wanna head out?"
You ask.
"I can't leave. We have some shit going on that I said I would be here for."
He replies, not even looking at you as he speaks.
"Then why am I here Pete? I ditched my friends because you called and told me to meet you and you can't even do the same. I don't know why I even bother."
You turn around and walk away, leaving him with his hoard of 'friends'
He made up for it a few days later, meeting you at a hotel just outside of town like when you had first met.
It was different this time, not just a quick fuck.
He took his time, the feelings neither of you knowing how to express all left on the bedsheets.
You laid in his arms, not daring to move as the feeling of actually making love threatening to leave your memory.
His phone goes off and you see a text from another girl.
'Meet me tonight? 8pm'
You try to look away but can't help but watch him type back a response, agreeing to the hook up.
It hurt more than you were willing to admit but you let it go, not wanting to start a fight after such a perfect afternoon.
He gives you a ride home, dropping you off and speeding away without another word, not wanting to be late for his next rendezvous.
"What the hell were you doing with him?"
You jump as your boyfriend startles you, having seen you get out of Pete's car from the doorway.
"Don't worry about it."
Your icy tone was enough to ignite the fight and breakup that was long overdue at this point.
"You are really going to throw everything we have away over some asshole who obviously doesn't care about you?"
He asks as you pack your bags.
"If I am willing to sneak around behind your back, did we really have anything to begin with?"
You text Pete asking him to pick you up and he shows up a few minutes later.
"What happened?"
He asks once you are in the car.
"He saw you drop me off. I told him everything and broke up with him."
You reply quietly.
"Why would you do that? You should have just told him we were working on something or hanging out with some friends."
Pete looks to you, confused.
"I left him for you. I don't want this sneaking around and random hook ups shit anymore. I want to be with you."
You didn't know why you were admitting it but you knew if you and Pete were ever going to have a real shot, it was now or never.
"You shouldn't have done that."
"Why? Is that really all I am to you, Pete? Just another fuck? Because that's not how it felt this afternoon."
Tears were building in your eyes and you did your best to fight them, not wanting to show just how much he affected you.
"I'm sorry but I can't. We can't. A fuck here and there is all I can give you. I thought you understood that."
He pulls up to your friends place and waits for you to get out, nothing left to say.
You grab your bags and get out of the car, your heart breaking more and more as you watch him drive away.

Valentine’s Day HCs
Ace won’t celebrate. Hearts remind him of Libi’s mother. But he’d indulge in the February 15th cheap boxes of candy, throwing the heart-shaped boxes away and carrying the candy in his pocket.
Cobra Bubbles will be using this as a cheat day, drinking big, whipped cream, chocolatey beverages.
Return of the Claudette. She’s a Valentine’s Day staple. She’ll be there to give Piper a big Valentine of her own, lots of candy and kisses and snuggles, and then would disappear with Kuzco into the bedroom for the majority of the evening.
Elsa’s only Valentine will be sent to River.
Ellie will bring extra goodies to school. Valentines Day presents for Mazzie and for Babyface, of course. The day before, on the Sunday, she would have made her way out to the Laveau place to give some special treats to Dale, too. Make sure that he never feels forgotten.
Frank would tear out his own still beating heart and gift it to Delta if he could. The thought occurred to him. Have Victor standing by to stitch it back up. Instead, he would give her a little vial of his own blood to wear around her neck if she so desired. So that even if they are in other rooms, he’ll still be there with her.
Figaro finds it hard to get into the spirit of the day but Slippery Douglas would get some extra bacon and smooches. As per usual, there was a mandatory watching of My Bloody Valentine.
Diana would send in a heart that she cut herself out of pink construction paper with the usual treats that she slid into the mouse holes for Willem.
Hansel would look at this with interest, and then add his own. He’d simply take the King of Hearts out of one of his many decks of cards and give it to Willem. He’d give Figaro the Jack of Hearts. He’d give Diana the Queen, slipping them through little holes in the walls to where he knew that they would be found. He’s still too shy to give one to Summer.
Go-Go barely recognizes the holiday until she gets to school and sees things like hearts taped up all over the place and couples holding hands. The most Valentinesy thing that she’d have was strawberry milk because it was pink.
Iain is going to spend it with his best girl, obviously. They’d walk around the Round Up handing out valentines to the workers and to the family, all of them with Pete’s scribbles on them. He’s a proud papa of all of it.
Jock will be working away in his little basement drug lab, listening to Cher’s ‘Do You Believe in Life After Love’ on repeat, head bobbing, continuing to work on his range of supernatural product.
Maddy is going all out with the pictures wrapped up neat for Bastien in a portfolio to keep them discreet. All pictures based on his drawings. Periwinkle. Reaper robes. She’d make him heart shaped pancakes. She’d make him whatever he would want for dinner. She’d be clad in that periwinkle and robe get up through most of the day, even while cooking - until he took if off of her and she’d keep it off.
Oogie Boogie WOULD be giving real human hearts to her favorites as a little gift. Her kids, of course. One to Libi. The Horny Boys. Even Hypno and Lena would get one.
Summer would do her usual shift at the comic book store, and would pick up an extra night shift at the inn though she doesn’t usually work Mondays, just to cover for the employees that want to be with their spouses/partners. Cause what else is she gonna do? It’s gonna be a dang busy night though.
Thomas will keep it super light, considering it’s the one year anniversary of Cinderella being murdered and all. It could be a rough day. He’d offer to drive into town to pick up dinner so that none of them had to cook and would sing his own rendition of ‘Friday, I’m in Love’ around the house, changing Friday to Monday.
Wiggins would text Happy Valentine’s Day to the girls that he knew, Maddy and Summer, of which only Summer would say it back because Maddy is way too busy with her plans. He’d wear silly antenna for the occasion while working the office.

I am sure many of you have already read this one but here are some parts from Ash Alexander’s Queen journey for those who haven’t!
“...At some point in early At some point in early 1983 on a visit to Jacky at the QFC, John Deacon wondered into the office. He came into the basement office and said hello as Jacky introduced me, sat down and spent a little time reading through press clippings. He could easily have slipped away back upstairs, but the fact that he stayed was a nice touch.
Another fan club letter arrived with good news. In Another fan club letter arrived with good news. In November 1983, fan club members were invited to help in a video for the new single 'Radio Ga Ga' at Shepperton Studios. Again, my Mum stepped up and drove me down for the day. I took the day off school and had just turned 14. We arrived at the studio and were ushered into a huge hanger where we were kitted out with white body suits and then sprayed with a light grey stripe on each arm - even now I’m not sure what the spray paint was for as you can’t see it in the video. When we had all been prepared, we were taken into an adjoining hanger and were greeted by the band and an initial play through of the song. The rest of the day was spent clapping as you’ll see in the video. I wound up in the front row, opposite Brian. If you look closely and you know what you’re looking for, you can see me!
In between takes, I approached John Deacon who was surprisingly on his own. I remember trying to remain calm as I approached him. I didn’t mention our brief meeting, I asked him how to get a job in recording studios and that I was interested in pursuing a career as a sound engineer. He was really helpful and took time to explain the usual route.
On 22, March 1984 at Limehouse Studios in London’s docklands, the video for ‘I Want To Break Free’ was filmed, again with the help of fan club members. I went along with my brother Andrew. The set was a big dark staircase that we all stood on. We were given black bodysuits this time that were sprouted with hello paint on the arms. We also wore a hard hat with a head lamp attached to it. The band were set in the middle of us all. After all the filming, we returned to the main building where we said hello to Roger. He’d come out to say thanks. Later, waiting for a cab down in reception, Freddie glided down the staircase and past us with his entourage. I remember wanting to get up and say thanks, but the opportunity was missed.
...20th April 1992. My friend Chesney Hawkes was managed by Trinifold. They also managed The Who. He invited me along to the Freddie Mercury Tribute gig at Wembley. Roger Daltry was appearing and Ches had a spare ticket. He only had one backstage pass though. This was overcome by him befriending the chap on the security door. Ches came out to meet me with his pass. He returned on his own and got in. I confidently flashed my pass and entered the Hard Rock tented area. Ches beckoned me over from the other side of the room. He was signing autographs for a lady, her two children and an older lady was with them. He introduce me to them saying I was a huge Queen fan. ‘This is Freddie’s mother' he whispered to me. I remember saying to her that I wish we’d met under different circumstances and how deeply sorry I was about her loss and how incredibly proud she should be. I often wonder about her.
...In Spring 1993, I was in front office. It was well after midnight and I’d left a s session for a little break. As usual, I took a look in the studio diary to see what was coming up. I flicked through the weeks and came upon an booking entry “Studio 3 - QUEEN” for 2 weeks that was pencilled in. There was no further info than that. I put my initials next to the booking thinking there would be a rational explanation as to what the booking really was. I soon found myself on a 2 week session with Queen. My diary from 1993 is lost, so I have only a mental note as to when & what songs were touched upon at this initial stage of 'Made In Heaven'. We started taking delivery of various multitrack tapes on varied formats. These were then transferred to digital 48 track tapes for future work. Roger & John were alone on these sessions as Brian was touring in Japan. I remember Roger being rather dismissive of Brian being unavailable, much like a brother sledging his sibling would do, with a slightly jealous edge but genuine at the same time.
...Over the 2 week session, Roger would suggest we went out for dinner. We had 3 or 4 meals out at a local Italian restaurant. Even now I laugh at jumping into the back of Roger’s Merc and the four of us driving down Abbey Road to the restaurant. It was owned by an Italian lady that would force you to smell her ‘wonderful mushrooms’ from a jar, which she made Roger do. On our initial meal she told Roger he looked familiar. ‘I know you’, she said. ‘Where have I seen you before?’ ‘Well, I’m in a band and we’ve been on TV before.’ Roger replied. John seemed calm with his lack of recognition. ‘What group do you play for?’ she asked. ‘I’m the drummer in a rock n roll band called Queen’ he replied. ‘No - I don’t hear of this band’ …We finished our food and the bill was called for. It showed up. John took it and asked Roger if he should use the Queen card to pay for it or his own card.
Roger’s drum kit arriving half way through the first week of sessions was a surprise for Noel Harris (the engineer) & me. We expected the sessions to be playing back tapes and working through the various formats to find possible material to be worked on at a later date. Noel was unfamiliar with the room in studio 3 and asked my opinion where to set the kit up and what microphones I would use. Eventually he left me to it. The kit was positioned and I mic’d it up that evening. John had his red Fender bass DI’d (no amp was used) and sat with us in the control room. I doubt these recordings made it through to the final mixes, it’s nice to think that they did.
...Tuesday 5th September
During the afternoon Brian’s guitar and a Vox AC30 appeared in the studio, brought in by Pete Malandrone. We were to do guitar overdubs on ‘You Don't Fool Me’. David asked me to put two Shure 421 microphones pointing into the back of the speaker cabinet. We did have two SM57’s on the front but these weren’t used in the recording.
I had to do a recall of the mix, which meant noting all of the studio outboard settings so we could get back to the mix and finish it off.
We had a technical problem with the Sony 3348 tape machine and eventually had it swapped for a new one. Brian clearly wasn’t aware we weren’t ready for him. I was half way through telling him and Jim Beach jumped in and finished off my explanation. Brian got really cross with him and slammed an empty coffee mug down on the studio table. Later Brian was so apologetic for his outburst. He must have told Jim he was sorry 4 times. As I type this I note it was Freddie’s birthday.
Brian slipped on his guitar that was linked to his amp with one lead. No pedals. His sound was instant and we were soon ready to record. He stood in front of the console in the control facing David & me.
Brian had an idea of what he wanted to play. The guitar riff had already been recorded. The solo guitar is what was added. Brian used a scrap of paper that he drew a map of dots on. Not like musical notation but his own short hand. It reminded me of being at the 'Radio Ga Ga' video shoot 13 years earlier. I was the same distance from Brian as I was then, but the scenario was beyond my imagination.
...Friday 8th September
Day Off - I may have met Pete Malandron at the Sun Inn in Barnes this afternoon. The QIFC was based round the corner at the time & Brian had a house there too, although I'm not sure he lived there at the time. I was with a friend and Pete joined us in the pub. He sat near the window and kept looking out of it. I asked what he was looking at and he replied "I always get worried when I'm out with Brian's guitar. It's in the boot of the car you see." He stayed for one drink and decided it was time to leave.
...One of the evenings of this second week, George Michael came to visit. There was a strong possibility that he would sing on one of the songs. Roger, John, Brian, David, George & I sat chatting in the control room. One of the conversations moved onto the Beatles and their current 'best of' release. I think Brian suggested that it was a bad idea releasing all their old material and I piped up that the fans would buy it regardless, much like the scenario Queen were about to face with the imminent release of the album. There was a deathly hush as I realised what I was saying. I wasn’t being at all derogatory. I was helped out of the hole I was digging by George who agreed with me and we moved on. No one actually spoke about doing a vocal. After George left the studio that evening, Roger was clear that he wasn’t keen on the idea. After looking through the Vintage Car garage across the road from the studio one afternoon, Roger saw a black Cadillack convertible that he quite liked. The following morning he came into the studio and said ‘Don’t tell Jim, but I bought the car.’ It was £80, 000.
Brian asked me if had been involved in the Abbey Road Sessions. Perhaps he’d seen my name on the tape boxes. I said that I was. Immediately he made a phone call. I didn’t hear all that he said, but I knew it was about a special thanks on the album credits. The following morning, after the artwork had been finalised, Roger came in and said ‘morning Aardvark’. Because the special thanks were alphabetic, I was on top of the list. It wasn’t until I bought a copy of the album and saw my name on it that I finally took on board that I had actually achieved one of my dreams.”

ok @souryogurt64 this is gonna be super brief for rn because i’m in the middle of writing a paper i have to turn in for school BUT here’s some surface level fleetwood mac/70s bands drama
fair warning i’m also definitely not the person to ask for this stuff as there are definitely other people out there who are more well read/documented on this stuff than i am and it’s been a good minute since i’ve... been a part of the classic rock scene i guess lmao
also fair warning to anyone reading this/planning on doing further research: cw for drug use, child abuse, racism, cults, and literally so much more. just be prepared going in.
anyway, fleetwood mac:
we can start off with they were all fucking each other and cheating on each other with each other. i can’t even go into detail on this bc i can’t even follow it
not to mention the amount of hooking up/cheating happening between bands. stevie nicks was involved with multiple members of the eagles, mick fleetwood was involved with jenny and pattie boyd, who was involved with eric clapton and george harrison (the beatles). christine mcvie was involved with dennis wilson (the beach boys). again so much more but i can’t even follow it
this is a direct quote from their wikipedia page: “while on tour in february 1971, jeremy spencer said he was going out to ‘get a magazine’ but never returned. after several days of frantic searching the band discovered that spencer had joined a religious group, the Children of God.”
peter green also had a bad lsd trip and also joined a “christian religious group” later on, and did not return to the band
oh at one point during the cheating bob Weston slept with jenny boyd (who was married to mick fleetwood at the time) and fleetwood was “so devastated” he cancelled 26 tour dates
the sheer amount of drug use was insane and i could write an entire paper on lsd use in the 70s alone but
stevie nicks once said in an interview that at the height of the bands drug use, she would keep a gram of coke in her boot at all times
also just learned this now apparently stevie nicks appeared in several episodes of american horror story
after a split at one point the band renamed itself to “the new fleetwood mac” and got into a lawsuit with former band members over it
literally a band that formed in 1968 continued to have lineup changes due to interpersonal arguments in 2018
and that’s all just some surface level stuff. some other “interesting” tidbits from some other bands/artists from the same era
again, major drug use. keith richards (rolling stones) had his blood basically entirely replaced 3 times due to the amount of heroin in his body
keith richards was also hospitalized once after a coconut fell out of a tree and hit him on the head
while there was unfortunately tons of it, plenty of abuse towards underage girls. i’m talking 30+ year old rock stars sleeping with 14 year old girls. both steven tyler (aerosmith) and jimmy page (led zeppelin) come to mind immediately but there’s definitely so much more
david bowie, while a bisexual pioneer in glam rock, was openly racist. he once said “hitler was the first real rock star”. yes. you read that right. he later blamed that statement on coke use.
eric clapton also basically did the same thing ^
keith moon (the who) caused his band mate pete townshend to go partially deaf after he put explosives in his drum kit and set them off at the end of a song
keith moon was also just fucking insane he played sets on horse tranquilizers mixed with brandy regularly and is still considered to be one of the greatest drummers of all time
keith moon also once, while leaving a hotel, told his driver to turn around because he forgot something. they went back to the hotel, where moon went back up to his room, and tossed the tv off the hotels balcony. he went back to the car saying “can’t believe i almost forgot”. he got his entire band banned for life at holiday inns after driving a car into a hotel pool. i think about this so much i love keith moon
also once when i was in high school i was hanging around with my italian teacher and talking about music and she had told me when she was young her and her friend went to go see led zeppelin. after the show they went back stage, and she said, and i quote “we were just 15 year old virgins at the time” and i’m pretty sure that was her way of telling me she lost her virginity to a member of led zeppelin. man i miss that woman.

A Night In Boise
The ride from Chiloquin to Gardiner, MT (12 min outside Yellowstone’s north entrance) was 14.5 hours, so we decided to split the drive into three days, spending two nights in Idaho on the way.
For our first night, we decided to stay in Boise, ID. Our friend Sean (hi, Sean + Meekah!) is from Idaho so he had the inside scoop on fun, eats, drinks, etc.
We hadn’t booked anything prior and figured we would use the Hotel Tonight app with no problem. Soon into our drive from Oregon, we realized two things: 1. Boise is HOT IN THE STREETS right now and 2. We had little to no cell service between Chiloquin and Boise to book a place. Room rates (that accepted dogs) were in the $350+ range and neither of us could fathom that price for one night in Idaho (we love Idaho and we love you, Sean).
Luckily, Pete ended up calling the Cabana Inn when we were 30 minutes outside of Boise and they had an open room for somewhere in the range of $120/night (including pet fee)! We knew the Cabana Inn was extremely close to downtown Boise and since we were there for only one night, we figured we would survive. We did not read anything reviews prior to booking because we had no internet.
Once I finally had reliable cell service (Pete was driving at the time), I read some reviews and kept them to myself for Pete’s sanity and the jeopardy of our future marriage. Let’s just say the reviews were not great. In the end, it wasn’t that bad. There may have been some sketchy characters hanging around the hotel (motel) at all hours and maybe a few guests were living there full-time, but no one bothered us and the room seemed reasonably clean enough for one night.
ANYWAY, naturally, our room wasn’t ready when we arrived even though it was 1.5 hours past check in time, so we ended up taking Greg for a short (it was 90 degrees out) walk in a really cool nearby park called, Julia Davis Park. Sean had told us about rafting down the Boise River and we witnessed some peeps doing this first hand and were soooo jealous. This is my kind of “rafting” for sure AKA super mellow because your girl doesn’t prefer to go in water over her head.
It was getting close to dinnertime when we eventually made it to our room. Because of the heat, we left Greg behind to guard our clothing and belongings while we ventured out in search of good food and drink. I was only a short walk to downtown area from the Cabana Inn. Since we only had one night we decided to bounce around for a bit with the end goal of grabbing Greg around 9 pm and walking across the street to a bicycle bar that allowed dogs. We first hit Bardenay Restaurant & Distillery per Sean’s recommendation. The cocktails did not disappoint. Pete had a fancy bloody mary that had pickled tomatoes! We shared some spicy shrimp skewers with the intent to head somewhere else and then… A DUST STORM WARNING. We received the warning via an iPhone emergency alert. This had Pete somewhat rattled. Neither of us had encountered a true dust storm and we were picturing a giant dust wall as depicted in The Mummy circa 1999. We watched the storm for a bit and then made a run for a small tavern/sports bar two blocks away. It was windy with a little dust in the air, but disappointing after all the hype. We snagged the last two bar seats inside and actually witnessed a patron outside get a dust particle in her eye!
After the tavern, we hurried back to the Cabana to make sure someone hadn’t stolen Greg. Luckily, Greg was safe and asleep per usual. We proceeded to the bicycle bar. The bar was sooo cool. Very hip and Brooklyn-ish. We each had a drink and then got a few to-go beers for the cooler per the bartender’s recommendation.
Boise is a very cool town and we would both go back in a heartbeat. Greg is only willing to return in the early spring or fall when it cools down a bit.

Tumblr media
I can’t believe we’re doing this in 2019 AD, but I rise back from the dead because I heard shit-talking about my boy.
Yosuke’s character development--the ones covered in his social link and not counting how he grows with the rest of the IT as a group--is imo one of the best-written progressions in P4 and I won’t stand for this. P4 has its flaws and one of the themes that didn’t sit quite so well for me when I first played it was how the characters seem to have gone a full 360 when it came to their plans for their futures. Yukiko, for example, has gone from the independent girl who wants to live on her own back to accepting that she has to take over the Amagi Inn someday. Not exactly the best message, is it?
But sometimes, it’s what people need to hear. After all, the main point of P4 is acceptance and in the same way adults accept and make the best of a situation they don’t necessarily like, so did our P4 protags.
Unlike the others though, Yosuke’s problem didn’t come from the outside pressures of society so much as himself.
Tumblr media
Which isn’t to say there’s no pressure coming from outside. There’s a lot he has to deal with just being the Junes kid in Inaba. He’s also a teenager on the brink of manhood who had been recently transplanted into the countryside. Come on man, his problem isn’t just that he wants to be interesting. And even if it were, what’s wrong with that? How hard is it to admit you’re mediocre? Is it weak to admit you’re scared of having zero reason to be in this world because you have no connections with other people and no place in society?
Buckle up, I have 100 screencaps and I’m not sure if it would all fit in one post but would we try. Pics taken from here and here.
One of the things we keep seeing in Yosuke’s social link is how good he is at PR. He’s a good kid. He has to be: he’s the Junes kid, the son of the manager. What he says and does will reflect on his family and the business.
Tumblr media
This even though almost everyone in Inaba distrusts him because of his connection to the department store that’s killing the local business. Above, we hear women implying Yosuke is a brazen shithead for showing his face in the shopping district when his classmates’ family businesses are failing because of Junes. And still he ‘minds his manners’.
Tumblr media
Here he finally loses his temper with the part-timers who kept bugging him about weekend work and talking shit about Saki, and it’s only because the girls told Yu to shut up. Otherwise? I bet he’d just take it all in. He’s ignored them before and there are other things to worry about:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‘Sorry dad, they said some bad things about our murdered schoolmate, kept missing work, and yelled at my best friend, but I shouldn’t have lost my temper because that’s not what the Junes kid does.’
Tumblr media
He admits as much in the P4G additional scene. So there’s that: people expect Yosuke to be polite because of his connection to Junes even though they treat him like shit because Junes is bad for the economy. (Which it is, but they worked around that in the end.)
But that’s not the only reason Yosuke tries to be nice. There’s also what his shadow said: he’s terrified of being alone and his move to Inaba has made him more aware of how shallow his bonds with people are:
Tumblr media
He says so when he talked about how he hasn’t changed his email address because he's hoping his friends from the city would keep in touch. Spoiler: they don’t.
Tumblr media
Had he not moved to Inaba he probably wouldn’t have thought different, but I guess having no excitement in the countryside and no friends to spend time with, he has a lot of free time to ponder on his loneliness and mediocrity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, it’s hard to accept mediocrity. It hurts knowing we don’t mean anything to the people around us, that we could vanish and nothing would change. He’s 17, for pete’s sake. He’s trying to figure things out while dealing with his loneliness. And he thinks the reason he has no friends is because he’s not good enough. He pretends to be nice and carefree like his shadow said, because he thinks showing people the real him (the loneliness and insecurity) would drive them away. He also has to be nice because Junes kid, remember? And in the case of getting along with his friends, he overcompensates and gets annoying/oversteps his boundaries because he’s scared and it’s all bravado. And also he’s a bit of a shit, but that’s okay Yu is also a bit of a shit and they deserve each other.
Tumblr media
Can I just take this moment as SouYo trash to point out that Yu walks him home and that is probably one of the gayest things ever. Especially coming after the hug which is like P4 code for ‘we’re dating now’.
Did I mention Yosuke has a lot of free time to think about his mediocrity? Not really. Like every kid on the brink of adulthood worrying about their future--college? Work? Career? What? Yosuke is worried too. Except his path has sort of been decided because of his family.
Tumblr media
He’s good at PR, he does the whole Junes kid shtick well, but is that what he really wants?
Tumblr media
Ofc he usually changes the subject after bringing that up--again, he’s so scared of you thinking he’s boring and that he only complains when you hang out that he does a 180 and starts talking about the goods under your futon.
But also can I just say Yosuke is so busy? I see Chie and Yukiko chatting in the classroom after classes and I’m like ‘Hey I have a best friend right? Why don’t I have anyone to chat with?’
Tumblr media
He’s a busy pal. You know I always thought Yosuke might make more friends if he joined some clubs and met people outside of the Junes thing, but he has to work part-time so.
How does Yosuke deal with this? Well he accepts that while working for Junes is tiring and maybe not what he actually wants to do with his life, there are actually some good things about it: he likes being needed.
Tumblr media
Is it what he wants to do for the rest of his life? He doesn’t answer that. What’s important is that, right now, he’s happy where he is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He realised that he doesn’t have to overcompensate for being boring or being a loser. That he can show people the ‘bad’ side of him without them hating him for it. That even if he is mediocre, it doesn’t mean people don’t need his support or his company. He didn’t have to try so hard. He just had to have a bit more confidence in himself.
And tbh he went from this:
Tumblr media
To this:
Tumblr media
I think there was a reason we couldn’t date Yosuke in game: it was too soon, it would feel like Yu is a rebound, that Yosuke latched onto the first person to show him kindness and interest since Saki’s death. And perhaps for the hugging scene (social link 8?) it was too early. But after social link 10? I think that would be a good time. Ofc, the game doesn’t work that way so I can see why they took it out, and yet. And still.
But none of that takes away from the fact that he grew from being an insecure kid who wants to prove himself into someone you can trust and count on. There’s a reason the games keep giving you the option to thank Yosuke: he’s your partner and he has your back.
I know I’m biased af because I’m like
Tumblr media
whenever I talk to Yosuke, but he’s just as complex as the other characters, come on man. He’s a top notch bro and this is the hill I choose to die on.

Looking for something fun and totally outside the (candy) box for you and your special someone to do for Valentine's Day? Something totally different and a little bit off-the-wall? Then keep reading! Most of us enjoy spooky TV shows and movies, right? We love that delicious adrenaline rush of being creeped out just a bit by thoughts of ghosts and the paranormal! If that sounds like you - and/or your special Valentine - then keep reading! Wouldn't it be big fun for you and your Valentine to spend a night (or weekend) at a haunted hotel? Just imagine what you might experience! And think of the bragging rights you'll have when recounting your ghostly adventures to family and friends! As part of my work as a psychic and medium, I have traveled extensively and stayed at some of the most interesting - and haunted - hotels in the United States. I like to stay at places that have a rich history, combined with stories about the spirits that reportedly roam throughout the properties. I have seen and heard otherworldly things that would send delicious little goose bumps up and down the spines of most people! Below is a list of some of the haunted hotels that I have enjoyed visiting and predict that you will enjoy visiting, too. New York City: The Jane Hotel - Some of the survivors of the sinking of the Titanic stayed in the building that is now the Jane Hotel in NYC's Greenwich Village. Guests report seeing ghostly apparitions and hearing the sound of sobbing . And the elevator often appears to have a mind of its own, traveling up at down between floors randomly. When we saw each other, we both gasped and he instantaneously vanished, leaving me startled and wide-eyed! Added bonus: The hella haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado is about an hour drive from downtown Denver. At one time, civil rights activist Malcolm X, Vietnamese revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh and celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse were employees of the hotel. A friendly ghost named Charley, a former worker in the building, allegedly haunts the inn. It is claimed that he is heard walking the halls late and night and sometimes will jiggle the doorknobs. Clover was an amateur photographer who died after ingesting some of the potassium cyanide that she used while developing her photographs. Her death was ruled a suicide, but some believed that she had been murdered. The ghost of Clover Adams haunts the hotel's 4th floor. Maids have told stories of hearing a woman sobbing, calling out their names and asking "What do you want?" in unoccupied rooms. Some guests say that visits by Clover's spirit are accompanied by the scent of almonds. Potassium cyanide, which caused Clover's death, is extracted from almonds!
