10:53 at night and haunted by the time an old trivia card read by a friend at a diner asked me what Piscitology was and I correctly guessed it was the study of fish because I was familiar with the term piscivore meaning fish-eating and then never heard the word again and now looking into it it was actually never a word???? Where the fuck did trivial pursuit card game (?) Get it from???

The study of fish is Ichthyology which is ancient Greek, where piscivore is Latin.

You know, I have always intended for this map to be of Ha'n, but since I'm not going from 'this is what I want here' for the most part I haven't been absolutely certain that it won't eventually end up being Hasiel (it probably won't for various reasons but still). But, having just finished doing the upwellings portion of this endeavor (aka 'where there will be lots of fish' but more importantly for Ha'n lots of kelps)...

Yeah, there's one more reason this probably won't be Hasiel...

The zebra fisher (Abyssus piscator), also known as the weaver lizard, is a large demonoid native to the interstitial estuaries of the Sunken Continent. It is most commonly found in shadow mangrove forests and makes its nest high in the canopy. Fishers are highly intelligent and sociable piscivores that live in groups (known as fleets) of up to a dozen individuals. Fishers have even been observed to build crude fish traps constructed of woven mangrove branches.

Sigh.... why do i even need to explain people about the horrors that surround this mudpit- Twilight terrors, they're nocturnal wyverns. They like to swoop down and start forest fires to snatch upon dying or wounded individuals (People and livestock, not a piscivorous dragon surprisingly.) They live in communal caves, they seem to behave more so like giant, oversized crows. For the love of god, do not engage these hell spawns. They're forbbiden monsters that no human should ever fight against This is literally all you need to know. Im too traumatized to actually write down a proper description about their behaviour or other stuff... i just saw one of my party members being eaten alive by one of these things.

recent drawings I’ve made for a alien worldbuilding idea!

Kuvontir are a sophont alien species on a planet they call Vehnen. The largest species (central straight) average a size of 86 cm. The others are all somewhat shorter than them. They are primarily dependent on obtaining food from water sources, as they are mostly piscivores. The two central populations have used their ‘wings’ to glide above water and catch food.

While the north and south populations have lost that ability. Northern Kuvontir have become built to run from predators. While the southern population has used their ‘wings’ to help them dive under water.
