#in order from left to right (with explanations):#k on#(self explanatory. definition of moe.)#a place further than the universe#(theyre at least a little insane for going all the way to antarctica for funsies)#bocchi the rock#(good mix of insane and sweet. most of the insane parts come from bocchi herself)#nichijou#(literally so much happened all the time)#and asobi asobase#(they did do arson)#i haven't seen azumanga daioh or yuru camp and i never finished lucky star#but based on what i know abt the first two id put it... azumanga between bocchi and nichijou. and yuru camp with or after k on#and from what i remember abt lucky star its also just after k on#a bit quirkier but nothing ever really happens in it. as far as i watched. which is why i stopped watching LOL#but thats all assumptions and second hand knowledge so i figured i shouldnt actually include them unless i was SURE#i also thought abt putting asteroid in love in here too but that one is a bit more niche so i left it out#i also excluded any idol shows bc that feels like a different category. and would make this too long#sorry zombieland saga and love live....#i also excluded straight up yuri. this is more abt Hanging Out than romance. but some is allowed as long as its not the focal point#like kita in btr. shes very yuri but the show isnt about that#you could probably also put is the order a rabbit on here but idr much from that. i think i watched like 3 episodes umm 100 years ago#i also thought abt putting the highschool girls segments from daily lives of highschool boys here. but they arent in most of the show#tho theyd probably go between nichijou and asobi asobase. or maybe on par w nichijou#that one girl did almost kill the other two with a rock as im sure youve all seen

broadly speaking there are 3 types of original anime: competent, over-ambitious, and indulgent
competent stuff is the kind of shows that have people begging for more anime original stories, think odd taxi, vivy, a place further than the universe, basically every big anime movie
over-ambitious stuff starts out with people begging for more anime original storoes but it becomes clear that the creators were in over their heads to some degree. the most infamous examples of this are kado and wonder egg, but classroom crisis, akiba maid war, and angel beats to a much lesser degree are also probably closer to this category than the former
indulgent shows aren't over ambitious really, they usually do have a lot of ideas shoved into them and aren't super well realised, but you can tell that the creators weren't really trying to do much besides have fun, and this makes them loads of fun when you don't take them too seriously, think robihachi, bucchigiri, and samurai flamenco

It focuses on the friendship between a group of girls who all want to go to Antarctica for various reasons. It’s a wonderful story with no romance whatsoever and it’s really moving.

#'vinnie why is gortash's icon a pink crown that says 'princess' on it?'#how about we stop talking for a little while.#key points: i don't think you can want to become archduke of bg and NOT crave attention. he wants to be the specialest guy in the universe#however his desire for attention is an ego thing.#charoum wants attention because he am feel uncomfortable when things are not about him?#similarly gorty is definitely MORE cautious than charoum. but you can't be TOO cautious and also want to take over the world.#recklessness is required to accomplish big things.#charoum is overconfident and believes he can be reckless and survive so he's further on the scale than gorty#similarly taking over the world is not something a typically exhausted person undertakes. that requires energy.#kinky/vanilla TBH i don't think gorty particularly cares. he needs to be mentally engaged. everything else depends on the other person#that said i don't think he'd be mentally engaged with a person who's ideal sex life is missionary sex with the lights off. so.#also jealousy: neither of them is ACTUALLY that jealous because they have egos the size of the sun and are certain they hold an important#place in each other's lives#charoum randomly decides to get jealous when he's bored and in the mood to be annoying#gorty almost full stop doesn't get jealous at all. although he will get possessive at times and force that onto charoum#which i'm lumping into the jealousy stat#ascended astarion i GENUINELY don't think has what it takes to worship anybody.#however there's a hole in the triumvirate that needs filling. and by god if ascended astarion doesn't know how to fill a hole-#charoum

crazy take: aside from actual lesbian romance stories, obviously, nothing passes the bechdel test better than moe "cute girls doing cute things" anime. its always just a group of girls, few to no named male characters, boys and dating are hardly ever brought up beyond the abstract, if at all. like we're focusing on the girls hanging out rn, we dont need to worry abt that shit. mugi just ate mio's strawberry.
#this doesnt mean i think all ''cute girls doing cute things'' anime is feminist btw#thats not my take. the test itself isnt a metric for feminism#im just saying if you take the rules purely at face value. that type of show kills it#but also no the genre isnt for the male gaze! everyone go watch 'a place further than the universe' and develop some emotions#even k on which i joked abt in the post- its actually a bit complicated bc of the way the anime deviates from the manga#but the short of it is the further it gets away from its source and becomes its own thing the more it becomes abt the girls#s2 being all original was the strongest. its a great story about the fleeting nature of youth and lasting friendships actually#ppl dont give it enough credit. yes its slice of life ofc but its really good#also not to mention bocchi. everyone loved bocchi. in that show they literally have a joke where they dont show the dads face#bc no male characters LOL#the acceptation being that one club owner who is meant to be more feminine? manga readers know more abt that tho
