Plural Systems! This is a comic for my plural friends and i hope it helps any singlets reading understand a little more about them ^^ for the record I'm not plural, im not an authority on the subject but I'm trying my best to learn more and wanted to share!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had some help on this one from @welldrawnfish and @ralathehuntress
This whole comic came from someone in our community that im very close with but im not sure if they have officially stated they are Plural here so ill not tag them, needless to say if it wasn't for them and thier amaizng headmates i couldn't have made this comic, thier experiences have helped me understand a whole other type of experience in a way that im sure i wouldn't have been able to understand without them!
❤️💜💖💚💙💛

Plural culture is appreciating and loving your local persecutor+protector+anger holder so fucking much even though they mess up plenty. Ours has such a hard job to do but all he ever wants is to try to help, and we care about this guy SO FUCKING MUCH MAN (he is NOT a fan of us fawning over him rn but we can NEVER appreciate him enough for what he does for us)

i think too many people forget that just because they know you’re a system, it doesn’t mean they get to know everything about our system.
we don’t have to tell you:
our roles
our headcount
our trauma
our introjects’ sources
who is fronting
if we are professionally diagnosed
ANYTHING.
nobody owes you any information about their mental or physical health.

Here’s some positivity for headmates who have magic in headspace!
Magic is a broad concept that covers a wide range of metaphysical or supernatural actions or events. Many systems may find that they have headmates who are able to use or wield magic within their system’s headspaces or inner worlds! This post is for those headmates!
✨ Shoutout to headmates whose magic is unpredictable or difficult to manage or control!
💠 Shoutout to headmates whose magic is tied to their own spirituality in some way!
🔮 Shoutout to headmates who regularly practice or study magic within their system’s headspace!
✨ Shoutout to headmates who are confused by or are struggling to understand their magic!
💠 Shoutout to headmates whose magic in-headspace can often or occasionally have real-life consequences!
🔮 Shoutout to headmates who are witches or are otherwise practitioners of witchcraft whose magic is a result of their craft!
✨ Shoutout to headmates with elemental magic, dark magic, or magic that is somehow connected to some other force beyond themselves!
💠 Shoutout to introjects who practice magic due to actions taken by or the identities of their sources!
🔮 Shoutout to headmates whose magic is tied to their role or place in their system in some way!
✨ Shoutout to headmates who use their magic to help, energize, or cheer up their fellow system members!
There is nothing wrong with having abilities in your headspace that your body is incapable of, and this absolutely extends to those who have, use, or practice magic in their system’s headspace! We hope that every headmate who uses magic in their headspace can have a wonderful day today. Whether you spend your time honing your skills, experimenting, studying, or using your magic in other ways, we hope that your magical abilities can being joy and happiness to yourself and your system!

How do you feel about host-centricism in plural communities? (Not bait, I just like hearing your opinions and insight)
I think more systems can benefit from learning that systems have different ways of functioning.
You have some systems with no hosts at all. Then there are other systems where there's on single host who is the main one interacting with the outside world. And I think both are valid if they don't push their views on others.
Personally, I don't see a lot of host-centrism in the communities I frequent.
Maybe a bit in tulpa communities, but even those emphasize how to do the best for your tulpa and how to be the best host you can.
I find host-centrism far more problematic from singlets than in plural communities, because a lot of singlets will act as if only the host is real. And that unfortunately bleeds into plural media which further reinforces host-centric views among singlets.
That, to me, is a far bigger issue than host-centrism in plural communities.

You ever hear someone say something and you're like "hmmm there's not enough evidence here to justify me bringing it up to them but damn does that sound plural"

Unfriendly fucking reminder that (most) systems can't control who they introject and you should never fakeclaim someone period. And you especially shouldn't fakeclaim someone cuz they happen to have a factive. Fuck off with that bullshit.
~Sincerely very pissed off turtle.

this is your friendly reminder that faking is a conscious choice. you can’t fake unintentionally.
you can be mistaken, and that’s ok! there’s no shame in that. you chose the label that best fit the information you had at the time. that’s just part of life, and that means you’re growing and learning more about yourself.
it’s ok to be unsure, don’t be too hard on yourself. you’ll figure it out, in time. <3

It’s sometimes kind of uncanny how some headmates knew they existed even before you met them or knew of their existence. Like, you get used to it after a while but thinking about how they were there during periods of your life where at the time you thought you were just by yourself is kinda crazy to look back on.

can your brain be wrong about needing alters? like, is it okay to split or have alters who are just kind of there and serve no purpose?
people shit on "brain friends" so much, but if your brain thinks you actually need the company because you're cripplingly lonely, or need comfort and reassurance always, is that bad?
agh idk. just thinking lately, gettin insecure and all that. (i say as papyrus is desperately trying to claw his way to front and i can genuinely feel the shift)
-🪽🪻
I don’t see why not, even if there’s not an instant knowing of why someone has split, it’s better to just take it at a pace comfortable to you no matter what.
It’s not bad. Anything like that can that can remotely cause distress can cause a split. Even if it’s not something someone would say you “need to be stressed over,” it is still causing you issues so your brain can 100% split to have alters to help combat loneliness.
Even if you don’t think you need them, it can still provide help in places you didn’t know needed help.

hey just an idea/note for other systems out there
if youre worried about tagging stuff with system tags bc the post isnt directly related to system things, but you still want other systems to find your posts and interact with you etc etc
use the community tags for those posts!!
#did community, #system community, #sysblr, #plural community, #osdd community, etc etc etc!
that way its about being a community and not clogging the system content related tags!!

plural and intrusive thought having (?) culture is not being able to tell if what you're perceiving is an intrusive thought or if a headmate is just being really mean :[

we have a ___ fictive in our system
‘OMG LET ME MEET THEM THEYRE MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER’
our headmate is not a character, the alters in our system are very much real people who mostly don’t associate themselves with their sources.
don’t be weird towards fictives just because you like their source it’s really uncomfortable
